I put this in the description, but I also wanted to post it: I remembered that my mom has the password to my blog. I’m not fully out to her, and I don’t need her looking at my stuff (as I was saying to her, there’s some stuff I’d be pretty okay with the entire world except for my family seeing). Well, that was depressing. I just really want Joey to have a happy ending, but she’s not in a good place for it. The only way this could end well for her is if she wound up where Jade and the surviving players are after Homestuck somehow. They’d give she and her brother a loving home and she could live longer than 15 more years but... siiiiiiggggghhh. I don’t know if Hussie is willing to go that far to give his characters happiness when he’s put them in such a low place to begin with.

Anyways, I don’t want to risk it as it’s so late in the afternoon. We’re just going to jump to the main event! This is going to be so weird! xD

i honestly actually want to like him. i really do.

i get that the fandom is excited about the contrast between main protags from yuma & yuya (who are overall more cheery, tho imo yuya is still a stark contrast to yuma... but that’s a whole other post) vs yusaku who is supposed to be a bit more serious but

i was way more excited about yusaku before his canon personality was revealed. i get some previews were mistranslated and maybe that’s why i’m a bit let down by his canon personality (cuz i was really excited about shy, introverted AF yusaku) and what i got instead was... angsty boy, stoic, dick yusaku.

i’ve said before that i actually love anti-hero characters... but i don’t see him as an anti-hero character, more of a “inspired-by-anti-heroes” character. what makes an anti-hero an anti-hero is their motives, and although yusaku’s a dick, his motives seem to be overall heroic/justice-y... whatever.

idk if anyone’s mentioned this before but his first ep appearance kinda actually reminded me of how lelouch was introduced in the first ep of code geass, except for yusaku’s wit and hostility was presented way more... rushed and clumsily, imo. it kinda felt like they tried to make him an expy of a character like lelocuh but... failed. it comes off as pretentious, honestly.

laslty, i see a lot of people calling him relatable and well for 1, idk how (cuz how many ppl are actually have a similar backstory to him?? i mean i’m sure they’re out there but... really just how many are out there???) and for another thing...like it’s fine, i don’t have to relate to a character to like them, but i would just like to have an actual reason to sympathize with him? i don’t feel like i have one yet. again, any character can have a tragic backstory,.. so show me what it is now and build the story around that instead of making me wait for it. 

buuuuuuuuuut he is very pretty, so yeah. i don’t mind seeing him.
