I’m back with another song that I think honestly fits TOO WELL for a Just Dance character (Jack Rose, in this case) for them not to incorporate it somehow at some point;

Okay, so, just take a look at this small except from the song:

You know how @signofthestriking was talking about the concept of a disheveled Jack Rose dancing to Gasoline? Kinda the same idea here; everybody sees him as this super put-together, “perfect” person, but in truth he’s actually a complete mess, he just tries his best not to show it.

But, there comes a point where he just can’t take it anymore. And the façade slips.

On one side, Jack makes it seem like he’s so unbothered by everything he’s had to experience throughout his life.

The side that people don’t get to see of him, however, is just how incredibly traumatized and hurt he actually is from everything.

Is this making sense?

The two headmates with "quoted" names are using aliases. We will not be revealing their in-system names on this blog for cultural reasons.

DID and related CDDs require trauma. Multiplicity is not and has never been 100% exclusive to people with these disorders. The concept of spiritual or "natural" multiplicity is not new. There have been informal discussions of "non-traumagenic" multiplicity as early as the 1990s, to our modest knowledge. While we aren't the most well read-up on the subject, this makes us doubt the idea that endogenic plurality is some "new way of faking DID". Especially when it's someone diagnosed with DID who coined the term "endogenic" to begin with.

The psychiatric industry should not be the final authority on what does or does not exist in people's minds. The DSM-V is not the Bible of what does or does not exist in people's minds.

In practice, touting trauma as a requirement for multiplicity has done nothing of value to address any real problems with the endogenic community. Instead, it has encouraged a culture of knee-jerk fakeclaiming over things like "too many fictives" or "nonhuman alters". This fakeclaiming poses an active risk to people with CDDs, due to the harassment and bullying it gives rise to.

Our criticisms of the endogenic community center on people not taking plurality as seriously as they should, overstepping the boundaries of traumagenic and disordered systems, and spreading misinformation about CDDs in an effort to defend their own validity. This is particularly (but NOT exclusively) true of the younger members of online system communities, due to simple immaturity. That's not a moral failing per se, but it's still something to criticize.

There needs to be more sympathy towards the anti-endo side of the debate. CDDs are highly stigmatized and misunderstood. There is some genuine history of people misrepresenting or outright faking these disorders for personal gain, or out of direct malice towards people with CDDs. Anti-endos are trying to protect themselves from what they perceive as an attempt to bastardize CDDs. That fear isn't completely misguided. Perhaps they'd be more open to learning about endogenic plurality if more people took their concerns seriously.

While western tulpamancy has taken a life of its own, it's important to remember that it still ties back to an East Asian religious practice at the end of the day. Given the long history of Asian religious practices being wrongfully appropriated, it's only respectful to consider alternatives to "tulpamancy".
