Oops, all space players!

Space is one of my favorite aspects so here's a bunch of space playing kids with some space related symbols. I feel like I'm getting back into spriting again. Despite my fankid bias, I feel like I prefer making trolls these days but I figured I'd go back to my roots a little with this one.

==> MallInfinite: What do you want to be?

So, there's two backstories here: Firstly, I just thought it would be cool if I made a fankid whose symbol was actually the logo of the place she worked at, and I visualized an almost aggressively normal person (on the surface) whose friend is a weird goth. Secondly, the sprite server I am a part of did a monthly prompt (that actually lasted two months) to make a full set of 12 trolls. I hadn't wanted to make any trolls for the burger kid idea I had, but now I can't imagine MallInfinite without them. Everyone is either the owner of a specific business or has a mall related job, and SGRUB takes place in a single connecting "Mall", with each floor being another player's land, warp pads are elevators and an atrium serves as a sort of hub for the players.

The main theme of this particular session is perfectly summed up with the quote above. All the players have just entered adulthood/the workforce, and everyone is also struggling with who they are and what they want to be (some more than others).

They say you can be whoever you want, but in such a restrictive society, is that really true? Jill and Bram dream of being a restaurant owner and a costume designer respectively, but have given up on that because they lack the means to make that dream come true. Kykloe is a hologram who wants to be a real troll. Zhirai wishes she was more fashionable, but she needs to keep a low profile lest her bloodcolor is discovered. Sylico wishes he was braver, better, but the empire is frightening and how can he fight thousands of sweeps worth of tradition? Jinsen was told he wasn't allowed to stay in the brooding caverns, forced out of his home and separated from his friends and lusus despite wanting to stay. Dinavi has gone through great lengths to portray herself as a cute and clumsy girl instead of the cold and calculating assassin she actually is, because she doesn't WANT to be an assassin anymore, yet Morgan won't let her outrun her past. These are just some of the examples of the thematic struggles the MI cast face.

I'm not planning on making a fanventure for these guys because I don't have the time nor energy, but man would I like to share more of their stories. They haunt me.

Oops, all fuchsias!

So as you likely notice, today isn't Friday. And also I haven't posted anything last Friday. This was meant to be for last week but honestly burnout is kicking my ass a little bit, and after finishing a big personal project I felt a little drained and spriting felt a little boring to me. But you know what they say; sometimes you just gotta do things bored, and give it your all anyway, so here's some fuchsias for you! My favorite is definitely the 8th and 10th, on account of the cape.

It's July 23rd, you know what that means- It's time for my annual Nepeta tribute, wherein I dedicate a fanart of everyone's favorite cat troll for my best friend @cat-terpillar's birthday! Enjoy this porcelain teacup nep, inspired by her land.

I'm very much a grunge-y Nepeta believer but it's nice putting her in these dainty outfits too. I feel like Nep likes looking at cutesy clothes but not necessarily wear them herself. Or if she did, it gets dirty and torn up very very fast.

Oops, all princes! I feel like I have an easier time designing female/feminine designs so I decided... Let's not do that this week. I like the prince class as a concept (destroyer of aspect is pretty cool) and while I originally did not like the design of it, I've grown to accept it as camp.

Okay so, sorry this one's a little late, I took a nap after work and slept way longer than anticipated. But anyway, happy Friday again! Have 12 cool trolls for your consideration. Well folks, as promised commissions are once again open! Remember; you don't need to submit the form right away- you can buy a slot, and send me one later. However, please remember to send it soon or else I will be refunding your commission. I will ask about it once, but if I don't get a reply I will just refund the commission.

Also: to be quite frank, I am currently in a period of mourning. My appearance online will be spotty as I will be spending a lot of time supporting family, BUT I will still check in to reply to any messages etc, especially during the night (well, my night).

Oops, all rage players! I feel like I tend to use the same class for rage over and over again, so I made an entire session of nothing BUT rage players so I can use all the classes. I particularly enjoy the cerulean's design, I really like that sort of mod fashion.

Life Updates

I kinda alluded to this back on Friday but I figured I should make a post about this for transparency's sake. I'll stay mostly vague for privacy but essentially, I'm in the middle of two big problems right now. For one, I'm going to be out of a job for a while because my boss did not keep my workplace up to code, and I won't be able to work for as long as it takes to renovate and reapply for the necessary licenses. The best estimate I got was two weeks, but it could very well take longer. That's half my income gone, so I'm going to have to post adopts more frequently to make up for it. Not this week though- Family troubles necessitates that I go out of town for support so I'm probably going to be gone for a while because of it.

I'm planning on picking out some of my own ocs to part with and sell tomorrow so I can make at least some much needed cash.

Thanks for all the requests everyone! I know it's been a while since I did sprite requests like these and I really miss them. Used to be that all my sprites were follower requests, and it's nice engaging with the community. I had a lot of fun with these!

You can still submit fan child requests, but I probably won't get to them as fast because I'd like to start working on other sprites too. Still, thanks for participating! You make spriting worthwhile.
