I see Sally at first being scared of EJ but slowly she warms up to him and feels safer around him.

EJ just saw her as another random ghost in the manor, and he's probably distant and doesn't really care about her presence, but as Sally gets closer to Jack he accepts her, maybe because he finds her cute or tolerable.

He doesn't have much energy like other creeps but he still makes an effort to play with her and make her happy.

And also because she insists he play, sometimes she makes a cute face for it or keep pulling him.

He ends up giving in anyway, because what does it cost to make a child happy?

It ends up with Sally decorating Jack's hair with bows while they play hairdresser or him with all his size, sitting at a tiny pink table during a tea party with her, or her painting his nails and putting makeup on him playing beauty salon lol

He doesn't take apart anything she made until he leaves her room, then he runs to the bathroom to clean up before anyone sees him.

At least he has his mask and hood to prevent anyone from making fun of him.

Sally must adore Jack so she wants his attention all day.

He doesn't get irritated by it and sometimes he reciprocates the attention when he has time.

Whether talking to her or answering the thousands of questions she asks.

Basically, they look like those pairs of dogs, where one is older and bigger and the other is small puppy that wants to play all day, and end up draining the older's energy.

He doesn't have many restrictions with Sally, other than the operating room where he prevents her from going in there and ending up messing with any dangerous objects or delicate organs, and touching his stuff without his permission on his bedroom.

Sometimes when he's playing videogames in his room he lets her play with him. (I have a hc of him in the manor has an old video game in his room to play the games he played when he was in college, like silent hill.)

And sometimes she gets scared of the games he likes so he has other friendlier games like Sonic and Mario and other coop games for them to play together.

Sometimes he pats her head when Sally hugs him.

Jack is probably one of the very few males that Sally feels safe around.

He's the older brother she never had and she's the younger sister he never had.

it actually never completely died, it was pretty inactive tho. now thanks to alex hirsch it's back and so happy about it!! that show was a huge part of my preteens and early teens. back in the day i related so much with dipper (probably because it reminded of me and my twin's dinamic). nowadays thanks to a rewatch i understood how much i feel mabel too. honestly i dont even get the hate she went through. lets be real, the real "selfish" sibling was dipper. he was obsessed with wendy and he would have done anything to hang out with her, even time travelling. at the end of the day we are talking about two 12 years old children, they are obviously not perfect and that's okay. im 19 now, im too old to be pissed off. in fact im rewatching the series with a smile on my face all the time. i need to admit it's weird to feel more soos now, im closer to his age than dipper or even wendy.

oh, anyway if they are gonna make a season 3 i demand that dipcifica is 100% canon! (fck dipbill, wendip and candip)

as a twin i love the way alex portrayed mabel's and dipper's personalities (stan's and ford's too) . i hate when authors show creepy identical twins or completely different twins. twins are somehow similar in personality department because they live in the same house, you know just like normal siblings... at the same time they don't read each other mind, they are humans (and alex knows it well, he is literally a twin too)

I was an abuse victim — I mean plain old verbal, emotional, financial and physical abuse that borderlined on torture when they get creative. I flew from home and gone no-contact with my family. After six months I called them back and managed to get in contact again. I was pretty terrified, hiding my address and names of my friends, and it also was a mentally exhausting and financially draining, since they tried to pump money from me with every opportunity. Was it stupid of me?

Well, you see, there's a catch. I have a younger brother.

Younger, severely disabled, traumatized, completely dependent on my abusive mother teen who had no one besides his family, part of which I was. It took two years of delicate work until one day he could take as much of his things as he could put in one bag and flew to me through whole country.

It wouldn't be possible if not for this years of dealing with more toxicity from my family. He would be dependent on my mother for the rest of his life, stripped of his legal rights, doesn't knowing that there's a possibility to him to live other way (he has a work now, and his own half of room, and once I said that I'm sorry I couldn't give him more and he looked absolutely shocked and said "but I can go to store right now and by myself a chocolate?? without asking for permission??" as if it was some kind if blessing I took for granted)

So. Maybe it's a smart thing to go no-contact, for many people for sure! But I look at Muriel and I can't not think of what kind of eternity would've wait for them, if not for the plot of second season. And how many Muriels are up there, with no one to help, doesn't even knowing that they need help and that there could be more to their lifes than servitude, loneliness and abuse? Does it worth to risk to go into contact with heavens for them? Even if it will be something small, a crumble of kindness, simple thank you there and there, to remind them that they have worth, I think it worth it, aren't it?

Another part people usually don't want to hear, but I came to understanding with my mother. She's a terrible women don't get me wrong. She's also very good and kind person. She's also like that because she herself traumatized and possibly mentally ill. After I snatched my brother from her it was hell, but then we made some peace. She genuinely tried to get better. We achieved heights of communications that wasn't possible before. And I like this. Not only because well, it's family, and they not soooo bad if you get to know them I sweeear, and I miss them sometimes — but because they're fellow humans, and even if I despise some humans I still want them to reform, not hurt people anymore and live happily if possible. Now, should've Aziraphale let Gabriel back in his life? Well he had every right to refuse! But also I know that if my mother suddenly was at my steps, naked and with no memories, I would've help. I helped as far as I could back then, when I was still angry and in pain, and while it was miserable, I don't regret it.

My brother is firmly on no-contact basis with our family — it's actually the thing that makes mother call and scream at me, because she still can't get that it's not something I can or want to "fix". It's his right, and he's happier like this, and I'm happy for him. I connect with them occasionally, preferably not in person. It's not always pleasant, but it really get much better. We're not happy loving family, but it's not someone I want to cut completely now.

What's the point of this long ass rant? The point is, people have a right to their choices. It could be unwise choices, it could be choices you can't understand, but person, even traumatized person, even traumatized person dealing with their abusers, have their own reasons behind every choice, and it doesn't mean that they're stupid or should learn better (= be like you). Dealing with abuse is not one size fit all deal, and choices made while you at this patch, even if it's the one that can look as self-harm, sometimes necessary and it's disrespectful to look at them with "ah well you'reso naive now but you will understand better" attitude. Victim of abuse is not some worm waiting to become a butterfly of perfect reasoning, they are a person living their life and you should meet them where they are, not wait until they "become wiser"!

And the things you say, that one that never happens, with abusers never change? They do happen sometimes. And it's not naive or stupid to assume that people can grow, and it's not naive or stupid to believe them. Better thing to say is a "if you want to check are they really changed check first that you in right mind space for it, count your safety exits and have a friend for a back up". And absolutely not a patronizing "WELL EVERYTHING WILL GO BADLY AND YOU'LL GET HURT AND IT'LL BE A LESSON FOR YOU" 😑😑😑

Even if he did think they could change, that's not wrong of him. He doesn't deserve to have to suffer for that. He shouldn't "have to learn". Certainly not "the hard way". (And incidentally, everything he learns is learned the hard way).

He is NOT "letting them back into his life". They forced their way back in. Actually, no, they were never gone.
