I just realized the fifth trial of v3 could have gone COMPLETELY different in my ghost au oh no
// SPOILERS for Danganronpa V3
I rewatched the trial recently and just got to the end when Kaito exits the Exisal to stop everyone from reaching the wrong vote, and it got me thinking.
We aren't completely sure whether Kokichi was killed by the hydraulic press or by the poison. It could've been totally possible for him to succumb to the poison while he was laying on the press waiting for it to lower.
We have no idea how long it actually takes for the Strike-9 poison to circulate through the body, and after Kaito and Kokichi switched places, he could've succumbed to the poison while Kaito was getting back up to the controls and setting back up to lower the press.
It's totally possible for him to have died of the poison and for Maki to be the actual Blackened, but as the player we had no way of confirming his cause of death. Not even Monokuma knew because the cameras were disabled! That was the whole shtick of the case! Monokuma relied completely on Shuichis deduction for this, and he concluded that Kokichi was killed with the press.
BUT in ghost au, we WOULD get confirmation of the killer and victim but not until that moment that Kaito exited the Exisal.
Kokichis ghost could've been hanging out in there through the whole trial until that point and exited with Kaito to see everyone's expressions up close. No one would really have made the conclusion that killers see their victims ghost until they became a Blackened themselves, but Kaito didn't know that so he wouldn't have been off put by not seeing Kokichis ghost. Dude was scared of ghosts after all so it would've sent him into a panic attack anyway.
But imagine when Kaito exits the Exisal and Kokichi's bloodied ghost follows, only visible to Maki. Imagine her shock when she sees both of them still supposedly alive in front of her. Imagine the rage that would boil her blood and send her bolting over to Kokichi to try to strangle or stab him, reaching out for his spindly neck to take him down-
Only for her to phase right through him.
She falls to the floor, to her hands and knees and is hit with an entirely new shock at the realization. Oh. Oh no. Shuichi and Kaito are moving to help her up and pay no attention to the bloodied Kokichi standing beside them, asking her if she's okay after tripping like that.
That's why Gonta was acting so weird in the previous trial, saying that Miu was still with them and even more confused about why there was a trial being held. They dismissed it as her being with them in spirit, but the others had no clue how literal that was.
Kaede didn't kill Rantaro, but if she had, it would've been a dead giveaway if she was freaking out about a ghost.
Kirumis spiral at the end of her trial was probably driven by Ryoma teasing her with the occasional quip until she lost it.
Korekiyo has probably seen enough ghosts to last a lifetime, so two more would've been nothing.
Only when Gonta had killed Miu did things click.
Maki would look at Kokichi in abject horror, and he would stare back with the exact same expression because this would completely ruin his plan. She would absolutely take the chance to give up her own life to save Kaito. She had done it so many times throughout the trial already, but that was just denial. Denial that Kaito could've been dead and that she could've been the one that killed him.
The trial would drag on for longer, and Shuichi would reach the same conclusion that killers saw their victims ghost. Kaito's skin would go cold because, if that's true, then why couldn't he see Kokichi? He was supposed to be the Blackened. Not Maki. Not Maki.
Maki and Kaito would argue for both stances, desperate to save the other, until Monokuma confirms that, yes, the Blackeneds can see the ghost of their respective victim, because hey, Tsumugi has been able to see Rantaro this entire time. On the cameras, the other culprits have been talking to themselves after killing their victims, but not in a mental spiral. More of a conversation with the dead body before them, except the victim was responding.
Maki would be executed because of this, and Kaito's moral would tank because he a) just lost the love of his life, b) survived when he wasn't supposed to and c) all of that work, all of that planning Kokichi had put into this trial to end the killing game once and for all was completely wasted. He would go numb. He was ready to give up his own life for this, but Maki didn't deserve this. Maki was supposed to live, not him. This wasn't fair. It wasn't fair. The only thing trusting Kokichi got him was the love of his life dying before his very eyes when it was supposed to be him.
Oh God now i wanna write a fic where this happens

Here’s some more ideas for fanart- Chihiro and Chiaki reacting to the Minecraft movie trailer.
-Your Gyaru design of Byakuya and Junko in an au where they’re like, rival models or something.
-Sakura in a cute cottagecore dress.
-Somebody (you decide who) introduced all of the Warriors Of Hope to skibidi toilet.
-Gonta playing Animal Crossing. (I feel like he’d love it)
-Mukuro playing Call of duty or some other war game.
(Since it’s spooky month, here are some Halloween adjacent ones)
-Junko and Mukuro as Ghostface from scream
-Hajime and Izuru as the twins from the shining
-Gundham and Sonia as Jack Skellington and Sally
-A Coraline AU where Makoto/Hajime/Shuichi/Kaede/Whoever you want is Coraline
-Ibuki playing Spooky Scary Skeletons on her guitar for her class
-The Warriors Of Hope go trick or treating
-Yasuhiro goes to a haunted house (either a fake one with actors, or like, a real one with actual ghosts) and is terrified. (Also works for Kaito since he’s terrified of ghosts too. If the ghosts are real maybe this takes place in your ghost au and they’re his classmates)
-Komaru casually talking to a ghost (since she can canonically see ghosts) Neither her nor the ghost realize that Toko walked in on them talking and now she’s just watching Komaru talk to air (from her perspective), and is very concerned. This one also works for your ghost au, maybe the ghost is one of her brother’s classmates.
-The design of a ghost from that au that you haven’t drawn yet.
-Ghost Kokichi and Miu getting into a fight
-Ghost Chihiro watching Byakuya tamper with his crime scene
-All the v1 ghosts in your au watching that one part in trial 5 where Hiro accuses Kyoko of being a ghost. They’re all facepalming.
-Ghost Sayaka not getting how it takes everyone so long to figure out 11037
-Ghost Rantaro+ all the other ghosts watching that one part in trial 3 where Tsumugi says that Rantaro’s ghost must be the killer.
-Ghost Hiyoko Fortnite dancing while Mikan’s getting executed in the background.
-A ghost trying to comfort their living friend/partner that can’t see them (Sakura/Aoi, Peko/Fuyuhiko, Tenko/Himiko, Kaede/Shuichi, Gundham/Sonia, Mondo/Taka, and some more but I don’t want to list them all. this can work for any pairing really, pick whichever you like best)
-Ghost Celeste and ghost Hifumi getting into a fight
-Ghost Hiyoko and ghost Mikan getting into a fight
-An alternate universe where the seance in V3 works, like for whatever reason Kiyo’s sabotage was unsuccessful but the seance was so Angie just…tells them what happened and the trial lasts 5 minutes.
-Ghost Chihiro and Ghost Chiaki reuniting after V2 ends.
(Hope you like at least some of these! Sorry if this was too long!)
I wanna appreciate this person for like almost doubling how long the list was I love you

Guys on my page smb made a rlly long fic about DRV3 CHP5 Ghost AU and how Maki could've been the killer or something like that, but I didn't take note to it because I was halfway through chapter 5 and didn't want spoilers. If anybody knows who they are please please please tag them/me on on of the posts because I really want to read their work.
--- THIS IS HOW THEY DESCRIBED IT, NOT MY ORIGINAL IDEA!!!
From what I remember they described it as:
Part of why Korekiyo went insane is because there were 2 ghosts (and his sister) like haunting/tormenting him during the trial, and Miu died in the VR world so a ghost probably wouldn't follow Gonta around in the actual world, and if it did he wouldn't remember. And for Maki nobody had seen Kokichi or Kaito since one of them died.
It wasn't until Kaito got out of the exisal that Maki saw Kokichi covered in blood, she ran to try and hit him before realising the others couldn't see him, and fell to her knees. Shuichi and Kaito helped her up from the floor. She couldn't tell people about it otherwise it would have meant that they voted the wrong person and they would all get executed.
Monokuma had no way of knowing if the poison affected Kokichi before the press fell down, or if the press crushing him was the cause of his death, so if Maki said anything the verdict could be changed drastically.
---
That's about all I remember from their writing, please lmk if you know because I really want to find it :,)

Just saw art that inspired this thought for an au. I think I've seen some shippy fics floating around for it that take place outside of killing games but not for inside the killing games so idk if it's been done before.
Basically, an au where shuichi can see and hear ghosts (which canonically exist in danganronpa). He's seen ghosts for as long as he can remember and uses that ability to his advantage in investigations (and helps the ghosts move on). He pretends he doesn't think ghosts exist due to the never ending therapy and drugs his parents would try to get his "delusions" to stop as a child. So whenever the question "do you believe in ghosts?" comes up he's like "they're obviously not real, if they were we would have proof by now."
Of course he hides this from everyone in the killing game because they'd think he's insane or being deeply disrespectful to their dead classmates. He's used to getting the attention of ghosts and prompting to follow him to speak with them alone, usually by looking right at them (hard to deny eye contact) and using subtle body language. Part of the reason he wears his hat is to avoid looking at ghost strangers.
As an excuse for writing reasons, ghosts do not remember the moments leading up to their death very clearly, so Rantaro would not remember how exactly he died. Which leads to Kaede's execution happening again. Hoshi would remember the plan but not the moment of death, he would keep it from shuichi though for kirumi to succeed. Angie and Tenko would harass shuichi a lot. Miu... she'd be so mad her plan didn't work and shuichi would take the brunt of her anger, there's no she's helping him. No clue what kokichi would do, I doubt he'd know what to do either since he fully expected to be dead dead without anyone figuring out.
None of the ghosts move on until the killing game is over. Shuichi never reveals to anyone living that he sees their ghost classmates. Kokichi might catch on to something weird going on with Shuichi but Shuichi would never admit it even if he guesses correctly. Well, correctly enough, he might think shuichi believes he sees ghosts but kokichi doesn't actually believe in ghosts. "That's not funny, I don't see ghosts- I'm not delusional. Leave me alone." <- man who will see ghost kokichi during chapter 5. It would probably piss off kokichi so much to see shuichi (and probably a couple other ghosts) stare at him after they find the press and know that his plan is screwed from the start.
The ghosts hangout in shuichi's room because he has a tiny shrine + incense out to deter mean spirits. In this case, mean spirits would be the really annoying dead monocubs. The ghosts usually hang in his room or follow him, they miss the set up for killings. Shuichi never really gets a break to be alone.
Things that tether ghosts to the world are probably special items, places, and people. His classmates would probably be very uncomfortable sticking to where they died so they stick to shuichi and his room (technically the little shrine + incense) instead.
"It's so peaceful looking at the stars isn't it shuichi?" "sure is..." <- man who is currently subject to the yammering of several ghosts.
- @blorboindulgence
Ahh, ghost-seeing aus!! I wrote one of those in my oneshot docs once (*´ω`*) This poor kid was probably forced onto so much medication he needed to be :{ that can reallly mess with your head,,. Poor guy. You cant fix something that doesnt need fixing (。•́︿•̀。)
I cant imagine what the 5th trial was like lmfao. Would Shuichi pretend not to know who was dead and who was alive the whole time for the sake of Kokichis plan? Shuichi has the power to steer the trial in the wrong direction, so if Kokichi told him the basics of it... Oh I wonder how that would go. Cant imagine how awkward that would've been xD
Oh actually!! Would Kokichi remember Maki shooting him? He might faintly recall someone coming into the hangar after Kaito attacked him, but probably not much else after that (个_个) man if I was Kokichi and that shit happened to me you would've seen me on the news. or whatever ghosts have.. probably haunted radios i dunno

so i’m working on this REAAAALLY stupid modern AU smutty comedy spinnerdabi fic in which spinner becomes dabi’s sugar daddy.. it’s just plain stupidity — so expect plain stupidity. anyways I’ve got a snippet below the cut if you wanna take a gander!1!1! spinner and dabi don’t have their meet-cute yet though..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not like Spinner’s overwhelmingly rich or anything, the way he puts it — he just has a generous salary and too much money to spare. It was a remote gig, a sit at a computer all day kind of thing, so the lizard’s never had time to actually touch grass before, he didn’t make too many friends either, no one aside from his online ones at least.
Of course he’s in his wallet and there’s a surplus, probably enough for a better lease, or a vehicle with some better mileage.. but he’s not interested in the hassle, he’s doing fine as he is now, anything more would be unnecessary. But here’s the thing, he’s romantically inexperienced, he blunders before the idea of romance even blossoms, he’s been in a few relationships… again, online ones. But they didn’t last very long. The first one ended ‘cause he came on too strong — embarrassingly long paragraphs of poetry and soapy declarations of love — and the girl he was seeing ghosted him after a week. Second one ended because Shuichi was badgered for nudes every second, minute and hour of the day; the guy was some sort of corporate slave, 3-4 years older than him, so this 9-5 guy would work overtime while on the phone with him talking about how much he wanted to see Spinner’s twin dicks. And this was DAILY, the guy was a mad gooner. When they broke it off, his ex threatened to release his nudes, but Spinner didn’t have much to lose to begin with, so he said “do it” (he didn’t).
It’s safe to say the real thing hasn’t worked out for him, that’s the reason the idea of faking crosses his mind. Buying love and affection — it doesn’t sound too bad, he had the money, lots of it to spare. It’s not like he’s looking for emotional investment, but some physical affirmations here and there go a long way.
But where could he even find services like that? And how can he ask for some without sounding like a creep? Spinner’s at his computer like always with a can of beer somewhere on the right of his desk that he’s nursing every minute or so. It’s his first can, probably his only can. He’s doing his research through forums and by the end of it, finds himself on a site for the exact kind of services he’s looking for: a willing sugar baby.
It’s Spinner, the guy who hasn’t gone outside in the past three weeks, Spinner, the guy who stocks up on dumb ramen and sodas and beers accordingly, Spinner, who sits in his cluttered office crisscrossed on his gaming chair all throughout midnight in only his boxers that tries to make a viable, maybe cute account on this god forsaken site. He runs into a problem though — he has little to no pictures of himself, none that are presentable. The only kinds of pictures to took of himself were… pornographic, really compromising angles.. they were things for his ex, and maybe they should’ve been deleted by now? He just never made the time.

I was wondering what Akai is up to in the sweater weather AU, so here you go
I.
Akai Shuichi is a thrillseeker at heart, but even he has his limits.
So when his mother, conveniently pocket-sized but still as sharp as ever, threatens him with a gun and lays into him, not for faking his death, but, of all things, for not mentioning his partner to her, he privately questions her priorities but decides to tell her the truth. He certainly likes to live dangerously, but he wouldn't be alive today if he didn't know how to pick his battles.
While she seems initially confused, the conversation about Akemi quickly veers off-track when his mother asks him to repeat her family name. Miyano, as in, her sister's daughter Miyano Akemi. Shuichi didn't even know he had an aunt. Not that it matters much, since he knows Akemi's parents died years ago. Eventually his mother leaves him alone, both of them too caught up in their heads to continue the conversation.
Shuichi's not really sure what to feel about all of that. So he doesn't.
.
He's not always been good at managing his emotions, but it's pretty close. When his father taught him how to hunt, and the misery of seeing proud game succumb to his shots had almost swallowed him alive, something cracked under the pressure. And whatever that was, despite Shuichi's best efforts, it has never quite healed alright. It left him with a slight gap between his thoughts and feelings, giving him that bit of extra distance necessary to keep going instead of breaking down. He'd come to understand, then, with a clarity born from numbness, death as an integral part of life. It comes for all living things, sometimes too early, and there really is no way to escape it. There's no use in fighting. Better get used to it.
The FBI counsellor called it repression, many years later, and while it was not even close to immediate grounds for disqualification from the program, she tried to give Shuichi reading materials on mindfulness and self-reflection. He hasn't touched them; the ability has been too helpful so far. He would've shattered several times over without it; when his father disappeared and his world threatened to break apart; when he decided to leave his family, including an unborn sister, behind for the ghost of a chance to find his father; and most often since he went undercover for the FBI. There's no fooling himself, compartmentalization and repression are probably the only reasons he can talk about the years and years of dirty work, including everything from blackmail to torture and murder, without losing his sanity. People call him cold-blooded and emotionally unavailable, and mean it as an insult. Shuichi can't bring himself to care. Life is complicated enough without emotions thrown into the mix. He needs to control some factors and keep them simple. Himself, he can control - mostly. So he does.
And he's good at it, but some days, it's too much.
.
Dealing with Akemi's untimely demise has always been difficult. He made a mistake when he got attached to his target. He can't even claim that he didn't know better, at the time, because he did, he just chose to ignore his better judgement. Couldn't help it, really. She was so easy to get along with, gentle yet tough as nails in a way that gave him, too, the strength needed to make a name for himself as a hitman. Those first couple of months before he learned not to sleep too much, when he came back from his missions feeling stained in blood that never even touched him, when he maintained his cover throughout the day and threatened to break apart by night, she was there to steady him. And she allowed him to be gentle with her, to hold her and love her and promise her the world. He needed desperately to not just be a monster, and she managed to see the man in him.
Now he's left to wonder if the easy familiarity he settled into with Akemi was a result of their relation. Such a pointless question.
.
With the help of a few glasses of Maker's Mark, a pack of cigarettes, and a probably unhealthy amount of emotional distancing, he manages to lay the matter to rest, for now. Until the organisation is dealt with, he can't afford to let his emotions get in the way, so he buries them as deep as he can, and applies logic to the problem.
Ultimately, he reasons, rhythmically assembling and disassembling his IWI Jericho to give his hands something to do, it doesn't really change things. What matters is that he loved her and she died for it. Whatever he learned after can't tarnish that memory. It's a simple fact that he needs to keep going to avenge her; aside from that, all he can do right now is remember her, and honour her last request. That's the active parameter he can affect: he will see to it that Miyano Shiho is protected, or die trying.
Shuichi considers telling the girl they're cousins, and eventually, he will - if she doesn't figure it out before that, keen as she is. But for now, she still doesn't trust him, has too much to worry about, and honestly, for a supposedly dead man he has enough tetchy family connections already. Maybe, when all of this is over, he can tell Masumi - she's a bit too careless to be told now, and he hopes his mother shares this assessment. But his little sister is great at breaking the ice, and he's sure she would love to hear she has more family. It might do Shiho well, too, knowing she isn't as alone as she might think. Their family is odd enough that she'll fit right in.
He's not sure he'd wish it upon her, though. Dealing with his darling mother always involves a headache of some kind. He is reminded once again why he didn't join the MI6, and why he tries to keep contact with her to a minimum. Still, somewhere deep down and buried, he's glad she seems to be well enough to feel like going out and threatening him. It's almost cute, even if she's deadly.
.
Despite his best efforts not to let it affect him, emotional exhaustion sticks to him through the next couple of days, uneventful as they are. Sleeping would probably help, but he keeps himself awake with coffee where he can, only napping a couple hours a day. Shuichi's life is one of constant vigilance, of surveillance and planning and striking at precisely the right time. And it suits him just fine, patience is in his nature. But while he's not on a mission, it sometimes leaves him just a little bit bored. The Kudo library is extensive, but there's only so many mystery novels he can read before his mind starts to wander. Trying not to think of Akemi's death is like trying not to think about pink elephants once he has been reminded of them. The comparison is uncharitable, and he knows she wouldn't appreciate his brooding, but it's not like he has much else to occupy himself with. Yes, there are the preparations for a joint operation against the organization coming up in a little over a month, and there's a class Okiya Subaru has to attend Tuesday evenings, but it's not like they require his full attention. He still tries to give it to them.
II.
Shuichi's not sure whether it's a blessing or a curse that he's meeting with Furuya Rei a couple of days after the ill-fated encounter with his mother.
Their relationship is tumultuous at best, and murderous at worst, complicated in the way all interactions containing Furuya tend to be, as the man is dictated by exactly the kind of emotions Shuichi tries to avoid. Granted, it is a rather one-sided disagreement; as with most things, Shuichi has no strong feelings about Furuya. He respects the other agent's abilities, particularly the fact he is still undercover, and teasing him is surprisingly fun. That's about it. Shuichi's keenly aware of Furuya's flaws, but as long as they don't bother their operations, he's not going to do anything about them.
In fact, in the last weeks - months really, at this point - he's been enjoying going along with Furuya's whims, meeting him to exchange the sweaters he seems to be so obsessed with. When he's not trying to hound him, Furuya can be somewhat decent company, chattering away about the mundane things that irritate him. Until he realizes he's been too pleasant, at which point he gets a little volatile to make sure Shuichi understands they're not actually friends. It's nothing Shuichi can't handle, and to be completely honest, he appreciates a little less boredom in his life.
Today, though, doom and gloom and failure still on his mind, he's not really up for playing games with the PSB agent. They know each other better than anyone else alive, aside from maybe Morofushi. Furuya will understand.
So he prepares a bag, shoves the sweater Furuya requested in, double-checking it's the right one because he really doesn't need another lecture right now, and waits for the agent to break into the Kudo mansion so he can hand it over and be done with it. Considering he's an ally now, Shuichi would offer him a key, but he's got the distinct impression Furuya would somehow misconstruct it as an insult to his abilities.
.
Exactly five minutes ahead of schedule, there's the click of the first-story balcony door, and Shuichi pads down from the sniper nest in the attic to meet his guest. Wordlessly, he holds out the bag to Furuya in the hallway. "Not even a good evening? Lacking in manners as usual, Akai Shuichi." Shuichi shrugs, can't be bothered. Shakes the bag. "Here's what you came for." Furuya's eyes narrow, scan across his form, then his brows furrow. An expression Shuichi hasn't seen on him before crosses his face, and before he has time to interpret it, it's gone, replaced by a smirk. "Hey, Akai." He stretches, dangling his own bag overhead. "That takedown you performed on the serial killer two weeks ago. Teach it to me." Shuichi stares back, unimpressed. "Maybe next time, I'm not-" Two quick steps, and Furuya's in his space, eyes blazing blue, looking up at him so impossibly bright. "That wasn't a question, Akai." He grins, eyes shining. "Or you're not getting your sweater back."
Shuichi almost lets out a laugh. That's gotta be up there somewhere in the top five stupidest threats he's ever been issued. Which is really saying something, considering he spent his teenage years in a high school in the US, and then some more years with FBI trainees in Quantico. What is it with Furuya and his sweater fixation? Akai doesn't care, he can have them all if it gets him out of his hair.
Unfortunately, Shuichi's best death glare doesn't seem to have the desired effect. Determination is either Furuya's best or worst quality, depending on how much trouble his current agenda involves, and for the sake of Shuichi's time, it's probably quicker to go along with him than to try and forcibly relocate him, even if he's certain he could. With a quiet sigh he makes for the basement gym.
.
Where his temper shines through in conversations, Furuya's presence in a fight is that of a wildfire, contained in a person. When he fights, he burns, sucking the oxygen and attention out of his surroundings, doesn't allow for distractions or he'll singe and bite and sting whatever is in his path. He takes to Akai's instructions easily, and soon enough they're no longer practicing but engaged in a sparring match. Furuya doesn't leave him time to consider anything else, at all, and damnit, that fervour of his is contagious. The battlejoy kicks in, hard, and Shuichi finds himself mirroring the PSB agent's mad grin as they wrestle for dominance, toss each other into the mat, twist and turn and struggle on the fine line between play and serious fighting.
Once they're staying down on the mats, the battle is over quickly; one moment he has Rei in a full-body pin, sure of his surrender; only for the man to twist his legs, shift their positions, and straddle Shuichi, bending down to choke him. He's stunning like this, flushed and panting for breath, his scorching gaze focused intently on Shuichi and Shuichi alone, looking for an opportunity to make him yield. An effigy of life itself.
Shuichi can't help it; his heart soars, his blood sings, his body shivers. Rei is a pinpoint focus of light, and then everything goes dark.

today on Kai is just putting his otp in situations: ghost-hunting collage professors
no, this is not a joke, i used a au generator and set it to have three outputs so i could mix whatever three i got. i got professors/modern/ghost-hunters, so now we're doing this because i think it's actually a neat concept
you could honestly put any ship into this, and i highly implore somebody to put their Kaito ship into this concept, but because this is the Saiouma Channel we're doing saiouma
the bit for my prompt is Shuichi's lowkey very sure the collage he works at is haunted because his coworker and friend (Kaito, duh) keeps having paranormal incidents, and he wants to try and do something about it to spare his sanity.
while doing his snooping to try and find any information on the potential poltergeist, the resident drama teacher Kokichi finds him. while he loves to play into the idea of the paranormal to get rises out of people, Kokichi doesn't actually believe in ghosts. so to find Shuichi -who he normally considers to be too smart to fall into that kind of superstition- actively trying to hunt a ghost, he just has to pry
this ends up with Shuichi continuing his efforts to rid the school of whatever's haunting Kaito while Kokichi tags along, both to see where this goes and to be a pest. as it turns out the school actually does have very real ghosts haunting the halls, and spooky shenaniganary ensues- perhaps with a little gayness on the side too

I’m feeling inspired by @collabwithmyself’s Ace Attorney fusion AU and @ghostryuunosuke’s take on Great Ace Attorney to make something using my love of crossovers.
So I have five fusions cooked up, for the Resonance au and I’m figuring out the specifics for designs but I have them named after mythological figures.
Metatron Edgewright- fusion of Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth, I am an enjoyer of the ship but I also think they’d fuse for their strong friendship. I also see them as the wearer of purple
Eros G. Justice- fusion of Apollo Justice and Klavier Gavin, another I just like the dynamic (ship or not)
Yuki-Onna Cykehara- fusion of Athena Cykes and Shuichi Saihara, here comes the crossover fusions. This is a silly one that I think would be supportive of the other.
Tsukiyomi Kokohodo- A half ghost fusion of Ryunosuke Naruhodo and Yuma Kokohead. I just think they’d be cool, and this fusion does require partial possession.
Icarus Hinaegi- the fusion of the ultimate hope; Makoto Naegi and the mysterious Hajime Hinata. All I know for this one is that they have a lot of issues and silliness.
Each of these fusions have emblems related to the figure too: Metatron has two diamonds overlayed to represent the cube, Eros has the heart, Yuki has a snowflake, Tsukiyomi has a moon and Icarus has the sun.

Any muses/fandoms you wish people would stop writing?
Is there anything you're excited to do this year?

What Are We Leaving Behind in 2024 - Accepting!
Tumblr media
Ooh, I've been asked another hot/spicy take question today.
Any muses/fandoms you wish people would stop writing?
First, let me preface this with the following: everyone is allowed to write what they want. I don't actually wish people would stop writing anything.
However, I'd phrase this as: series/muses/themes I do not want to interact with due to lack of interest or I just dislike the series/characters that much.
Does that make sense?
Carrying on.
The biggest themes I don't want to write and will not choose to engage with on this blog is fantasy, particularly high/medieval fantasy with a bunch of magic powers. There's nothing wrong with the genre! I, like Sonia, actually read a bunch of romantic fantasy and enjoy it. It's just that Sonia is not a medieval/fantasy princess, and I think some muns who stumble across my blog see princess in the title and assume that's the flavor of storyline I provide over here.
There's plenty of muses who are that sort of royal, but I do not enjoy writing Sonia in that context. Contemporary slice of life? Of course. Historical-inspired verses? There's a few centuries that I like placing Sonia in based on how history has advanced. Sonia is much more Gossip Girl, Bridgerton, The Royals series from E!, and Tatler than she is Game of Thrones.
She's not fantasy. She's not a fantasy/medieval/magic power-wielding princess. I don't even like doing damsel in distress or arranged marriage that much with her, unless I've plotted with the mun beforehand and feel comfortable writing that content with them. Putting Sonia in a situation where she constantly needs to be rescued and/or is subjugated to serve someone, particularly a man because she's his legal property, gives me some very big icks.
We ain't doing that over here.
In the same vein, talking animals are also a no-go for this blog. And as much as Sonia loves the supernatural, beings like demons, ghosts, vampires, etc. are on a case-by-case basis. Even if Sonia wants to flirt with the hot vampire/demon willing to bite her-
For series I have no interest writing in/writing AUs for:
Anything Vivziepop/Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss
Attack on Titan
Genshin Impact/Honkai. I have never played these games and never will.
My Hero Academia
JJK
Demon Slayer
Naruto
DragonBall anything
most things that qualify as isekai
Game of Thrones (as mentioned above)
If it belongs in a D&D game I don't have any interest in writing it
Harry Potter (This was my first RP fandom 20+ years ago, actually, but I cannot separate art from artist now. Wizard Lady sucks and everything she stands for sucks.)
As far as characters go, I'll keep my list to Danganronpa characters that, if given a choice, I'd prefer not to interact with. If you have a multi, I will probably pick any other DR muse available to write with, or a different series or OC, than the muses on this list. It's a combination of interaction burnout with these specific muses or I have such a strong dislike for them personally and it tends to seep into my portrayal:
Nagito Komaeda
Kokichi Ouma
Miu Iruma
Korekiyo Shinguji
Hajime Hinata, Shuichi Saihara, and Junko Enoshima are a case-by-case basis: I enjoy some dynamics with these characters but others I just don't care to write. Despair verses mostly, but I tend not to choose those anyway and prefer to reference them as past events in post-Despair verses. For Hajime and Shuichi specifically, it's more just fatigue and burnout with these muses: I get the protags and antags of DR 2 and V3 thrown at me pretty often in the past 5.5 years I've had this blog (everyone forgets about DR1 now sadly).
There's so many characters in Danganronpa, I wish more of them were represented in the tumblr RPC!
Is there anything you're excited to do this year?
RP wise? Keep trucking on with what I'm doing and hopefully start some new long-term threads and interactions too. I'm just not sure which mutuals are up for crafting something, either by plotting or winging it.
Outside of RP? I'm working on yet another dream costume for conventions this year! I'm finally doing one of Marie Antoinette's gowns from Rose of Versailles, and updating my Oscar costume as well because get you a woman who can do both. I'm also excited for a historical formal ball I'm attending in March as Penelope from Bridgerton (though I want to go to a proper Bridgerton ball eventually, and another ACOTAR/book ball! I have outfit options!).
And besides that, I gifted my husband a trip for Christmas to Universal Orlando Resort this October for the two of us! We're going to spend a week checking out everything new at the parks (barring Wizard Lady stuff: we refuse to pay for food and merch from those parts of the parks, even if part of our ticket admission lines her pockets, which is still annoying) from the past 6 years or so, especially Epic Universe and Super Nintendo World. He's a huge fan of Nintendo so that was the driving force behind the plan: we'll spend most of our Epic Universe day in that area of the park while venturing out to Dark Universe and Isle of Berk a little bit. And we're also doing Halloween Horror Nights as we're both huge horror fans! I can't wait to learn what the houses will be this year.

ive always headcanoned that keebo is somewhat genderfluid, comfortable with any gender being applied to him yet also sometimes having a preference whilst also remaining like.. generally gnc, because robot,
and i wondered if you have any headcanons like that for kiibo and shuichi! or maybe just put a ramble about them for this ask i dont mind and just want to get my saiibo brainworms fed
HI ANON!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS QUESTION!! it made me realize i haven’t explained my wonderful kiibo gender worms here on tumblr yet ehehe
though I don’t usually discuss gender and/or sexuality headcanons cuz I LOVEE when other people project their own headcanons onto my art, I also love getting the chance to talk about my own headcanons every once in awhile, so thank you!!!!
so, we all know mettaton, right? the pretty robot from undertale? the man himself, iconic even years later, his wondrousness still filling the minds of many today? WELL we all know he’s trans, correct? going from a genderless ghost to his true self as a robot. WELL, I SEE KIIBO BEING TRANS IN THE SAME SORT OF WAY YKNOW. I really adore the idea that kiibo was made with zero gender in mind, idabashi leaving it up for kiibo to decide whenever the time came. raising him purely genderless for several years (neutral pronouns, clothes, and the like) until he decided on his own that he prefers to be masculine presenting/refered to as a man, and idabashi immediately respected that and started raising him as a man! building more masculine outer armor, helping change kiibos voice if he wished for it, more masculine clothing and uniforms for school, stuff of that sort! (though after becoming more comfortable, especially postgame after he’s rebuilt and doesn’t have to deal with that pesky over armor from ingame, i see him dressing more gnc, just wearing what he likes and not caring whether it’s considered masculine or not, he’s very comfortable in his own masculinity!!!!!)
basically as a huge tldr i headcanon kiibo as a trans man in the same way that mettatons a trans man!!!!!!!
and as a bonus, in AUs where i make kiibo a human/not robot he’s an intersex trans man!!! again, raised genderless until he realized on his own that hes a man :3
wish i had some huge elaborate headcanon paragraphs for shuichi too but he is simply the most bisexual disaster ever and that is all LMAOO most unintentionally gnc cisgender man in my brain
as a little saiibo bonus though, i like the idea that kiibo unintentionally and maybe sometimes intentionally helps shuichi become more comfortable in his own masculinity postgame too, helping his confidence in dressing more freely n such :DD i feel like he’d always feel this pressure to wear more masculine uniforms and such when he goes out due to his more feminine appearance, but seeing kiibo dress without a care in the world really inspires shuichi to do the same!!!!
ANYHOW, THANK YOU ANON!!! I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE RAMBLE!!!! I REALLY DO LOVE GETTING THE CHANCE TO BRING OUT MY REALLY OBSCURE HEADCANONS EHEHE

Oh boy more fucked up canon divergence. This time it's THH flavored since I have chapter 5 scenarios on the brain
SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA TRIGGER HAPPY HAVOC BELOW (and a bit of ndrv3)
Wouldn't it be fucked up if Makoto survived the execution thanks to Alter Ego, just to die when he slammed into the concrete floor with a desk on top of him in the trash pit?
Wouldn't it be super fucked up if, when Kyoko went down to retrieve him from the trash pit, still believing he was alive, telling herself he had to have survived because she couldnt be responsible for his death, she just found him dead beneath a desk? Don't you think that would exacerbate the guilt she felt for getting him voted as the blackened so much?
Wouldn't it be fucked up if Byakuya went with her because he had a change of heart and wanted to help her end the killing game by proving the mastermind violated their own rules, just to find their one beacon of hope dead?
Wouldn't it be fucked up if Kyoko fell h a r d into despair when she found Makoto’s body and just let herself break because her father is dead and now the one person she was finally starting to trust is, too, all because of her?
Wouldn't it be fucked up if Byakuya had to drag her out of it, because he'd be damned if he let that stupid bear win after everything they went through? If he convinced her to demand a retrial as Shuichi had done later in V3, to use his death as a catalyst to get revenge on the mastermind?
WOULDNT IT BE FUCKED UP IF SHE SAW MAKOTO’S GHOST EVERYWHERE BECAUSE SHE BLAMED HERSELF SO HARSHLY FOR HIS DEATH? Usually in the ghost au, I don't have the killers' ghosts be seen by the mastermind, because My AU My Rules, but as someone pointed out on another one of my posts about the ghost au there's a LOT of ways people could see ghosts in indirect ways of killing them.
God, wouldn't it be fucked up if Makoto’s ghost was cheering her on the whole time?
Also I want more Byakuya development because he sucks (affectionate) and I love him

Saiouma Week Day 1: Horror / Movies
Good day/night tumblr it’s saiou week
Tumblr media
Mini comic under + Indonesia saiou ramble :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other than that, I told twitter about Indonesian folklore saiou AU and like uuoooghh unfortunately drawing horror makes me lose sleep.
There are many famous folklore you could choose! From kuntilanak, pocong, sundel bolong, genderuwo, tuyul, etc. I think tuyul (a balc toddler ghost who is usually used to steal by the master) is super funny.
Going for comedy/horror aspects, satay vendor Shuichi and sundel bolong Kokichi IS A FUNNY IDEA!!! Imagine Shuichi going around at night with his gerobak and suddenly hears “mas satenya seratus tusuk” (“sir, may i have a hundred satay”) and turning around to see Kokichi with a huge hole on his body. The thing with Indonesian folklore is they sound SO silly until you hear it in a serious manner.
If I tell you pocong Shuichi is just a zombie wrapped in clothing like a sausage and jumping around your neighborhood would you think I’m insane?? Probably. But if you see it irl you’re cursed.
Ahh, but if not folklore, take SaiOu and taboo things to do around here (Pamali AU haha). Shuichi is an indigo (able to sense paranormal activity) and Kokichi… is Kokichi. Everyday Shuichi would ask him to stop doing those taboo things in fear something will happened to him. Kokichi ignores that, maybe he steps over someone’s grave, whistles at night, sing in the shower, it’s the little things that are culturally looked down upon.
And one day he vanished. No trace, no texts, nothing. It worries Shuichi, “what happened to him? where is he? did the ghosts had enough?” so desperate he seeks alternate medicine route. What do you mean Kokichi is actually a ghost? They had been best friends since childhood there’s no way! But maybe he isn’t dead. Maybe he’s missing. Maybe dia jadi tumbal proyek saking ngeselinnya. Maybe it had something to do with him running to that forest after in the evening despite the warnings that children must not go out alone during that time.
Well, I guess Shuichi just had to shake the dukun’s hand and find more about Kokichi’s weird disappearance.

(TW : Rant and fancomic hate incoming) One time I saw a ghost au comic of v3 here on tumblr only. Tbh I think I might have liked the au if I saw it through any other post first but this post was so bad it wasn't even funny T_T.
Basically it had Miu screaming at Kokichi to get away from Gonta cause she's apparently part of the Gonta Protection Squad or whatever??? Miu would not defend and infantilise the man who killed her like whatt--- And thats not even taking into account the blatant Ougoku/Kokichi hate and mischaracterisation here?!? Gonta doesn't need to be protected by the woman he killed!!?! Hes NOT some sad and he also made a conscious decision to try and kill all his remaining classmates at some point!?!
YOU CANNOT BLAME GONTA HAVING A FUNCTIONING MIND AND MAKING BAD CHOICES ON KOKICHI?? WHAT DID HE EVEN DO TO YOU? TRY TO SAVE HIS OWN LIFE??? WHY DO PEOPLE WOOBIFIYING GONTA AND VILLAINISING KOKICHI??? CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, KOKICHI DOESNT EVEN HAVE A SINGLE TOXIC FRIENDSHIP WHERE HE'S THE ONLY ONE AT FAULT. OUGOKU HAS BOTH OF THEM AGREE TO THE PLAN, IROUMA HAS BOTH OF THEM PLAN TO MURDER EACH OTHER AND EVEN OUMOTA DOESN'T JUST HAVE KOKICHI LEAD KAITO TO HIS DEATH OR WHATEVER YOU WANNA BELIEVE (I guess Kiibo exists but Kokichi was probably acting robophobic cause he was suspicious of him and he also ended up being right cause of the end twist). *WHAT IS THIS?*
Sorry about the rant. This has been festering in my mind too long and I need to get it out. To be clear, I'm not hating on the artist, I remember I liked most of their other works I think?? I'm not sure cause it's been a while. But it's just the blatant infantilization of Gonta I disagree with. And making Miu into an avid defender of the person who murdered her with no hesitation. Kokichi villlainization is also something that turns into pure fanon beyond a certain point (which admittedly isn't *that* far off from canon as the Gonta infantilization as Kokichi's villain act does play an important role in V3 but it's still pretty far off). Gonta being sorted into the box of "fully sympathetic blackeneds" has done a lot of damage to his character, along with characters like Kaede who doesn't get *any* slack for jumping straight to murdering the mastermind rather than just capturing them or going along with Shuichi's plan. The Gonta characterisation also doesn't account for variables like how Kokichi might've twisted the story in order to further his act, what exactly did the Killing Game Busters see (it had to have been different from the outside world at the end of the death road of despair, cause it needed to give them somewhat of a proper explanation and a reason to believe them) and also the possibility of Kokichi, not just twisting, but just straight up lying about certain parts of the story. There's also evidence to prove that Gonta's memory loss wasn't accidental (Chibi Gonta asking how Normal Gonta knows about him killing Miu), but I'm not entirely sure if that's a plothole, cause the game certainly doesn't go anywhere with it.
Oh I know that comic.
I do however mildly disagree with a few conclusions, I get the overall vibes, but Miu very much is the kind of character who would shift blame like that I feel, that doesn't make it CORRECT of her to do, but I could absolutely see Miu scapegoating Kokichi less because Gonta needs her protection, and more of her own trauma making her lash out at Kokichi along with her own guilt for her part in all of that. If she just blames Kokichi for everything and doesn't look deeper, she doesn't have to face herself, and Miu hates hates HATES facing herself.
If anything it's just a furthering of the masks Kokichi is himself setting up to paint himself as a villain to the cast extending into the afterlife as well which makes sense. The problem for me is how Gonta REACTS, because i can see how all of this would happen around Gonta. However, I think the au fails to really fully get Gonta right in his reaction to everything and failing to account for how emotionally mature Gonta can be, however I think this could be fixed honestly relatively easily by the fact alter ego gonta also kind of has his own ghost
A Gonta ghost split in two, one that remembers and one that doesn't, that needs to come to terms and reunite into one single gonta by understanding the nuances of what he did, the situation, and coming to terms with his own sense of self and its relation to it, could be FASCINATING to explore and could really play into the duality by having one half of Gonta's ghost without memories falling into the "i was manipulated maybe" camp due to his own conflicted feelings and also everyone saying that around him constantly 24/7 while the Gonta ghost with memories is still defending Kokichi fiercely.
Though back to about the actual art, the fact they have Kokichi specifically marked as not blaming Kaito for the plan failing shows to me at least some level of genuine understanding of Kokichi's character because of how common a misstep that is. So while I definitely get the frustration, it makes sense to me and I think there's not enough art made to actually draw any conclusions

UTDP/Summer Camp: Komaru Naegi
in-game info from v3's UTDP Mode and Danganronpa S: Summer Camp AU, for fanart/fanfic inspiration etc. note that this is a "nice" universe where v3 goes to Hope's Peak and Junko never Junko'd.
this post details Komaru Naegi's scenes with others, as well as insights about her that these bits provide. there's a Lot, so jump on down under the cut.
(i hope to do all characters over time, so Hang Tight for your fave!)
> more UTDP/Summer Camp character databases<
NOTE: Komaru is only a playable character in Summer Camp, not in UTDP.
KOMARU INSIGHTS:
Gets to go to the Hope's Peak VR Summer Camp because, according to the Monokubs, one part of the Camp's goal is to see the effect of "broader socialization" on talent development (Summer Camp, Prologue)
"I feel super out of place next to all these crazy talented people." (Summer Camp, Komaru's Introduction)
"I'd never thought about hope before. It seemed too big for me. But it turns out I have some too." (Summer Camp, Komaru's Hope Fragment)
Learns to juggle for the Summer Festival (Summer Camp, Komaru's Summer Festival)
Still has her ghost sight ability in this universe (Summer Camp, Korekiyo's With Swimsuits)
Makes an outline of the manga she wants to write while at the camp (Summer Camp, Toko's My Future)
Has been studying for entrance exams, as well as looking up universities and vocational schools (Summer Camp, My Future)
CONJECTURE: Komaru still wears the St. Koa Girls Academy uniform in this universe, so we can likely assume she's actually attending the school of her dreams and they couldn't just redraw her due to budget constraints. Good for her, good for her
KOMARU & OTHERS:
In this universe, Komaru is still best friends with Toko, as well as Genocide Jack. They met on a field trip to Towa City (Summer Camp, Prologue) + (UTDP, Toko's Sports Festival 1 Japanese vers) + others
This AU Towa City field trip seems to still have involved pretty much all the characters from UDG, like Byakuya, the Warriors of Hope, Hiroko Hagakure, and even Shirokuma (Summer Camp, Prologue)
Komaru mistakes Impostor for the real Byakuya at first, thinking he got a haircut (Summer Camp, Prologue)
Summer Camp is Komaru's first "trip" with Toko, and she's hella excited about it, though Toko is still getting used to having a friend (Summer Camp, Toko & Komaru) + (Summer Camp, With Swimsuits)
[Genocide Jack:] "At our wedding, my White Knight will be on my arm while you give the maid of honor's speech." (Summer Camp, Genocide Jack's With Swimsuits)
Gets to meet Sayaka alive and talk on a first-name basis with her. Makoto tells Komaru not to be so weird and awkward, but Sayaka finds it charming [and is playfully jealous of their relationship] (Summer Camp, Makoto & Sayaka & Komaru) + (Summer Camp, Potential of Talent 3) + others
Was shocked and delighted to discover Kyoko was "a total cutie" (Summer Camp, Shuichi & Komaru)
Kirumi serves her and teaches her formal etiquette, to Komaru's embarrassment (Summer Camp, Kirumi & Komaru)
Worried about Makoto fitting in with the other Ultimates, but Kaede reassures her he's popular (Summer Camp, Kaede & Komaru)
Further, doesn't see her older brother as a "reliable adult," though admits he's grown immensely in 3 years (Summer Camp, Campfire 3)
Puzzles over picking out a souvenir for Genocide Jack (Summer Camp, Genocide Jack & Komaru)
Doesn't trust Monokuma: "[he] isn't like Monomi or Shirokuma--he actually seems dangerous." (Summer Camp, Monokuma & Komaru & Hiroko)
Is among the adults the Warriors of Hope still hate in this universe (Summer Camp, Komaru & Kotoko & Monaca)
Tries to get advice out of Angie about drawing manga, but realizes it's not going to work (Summer Camp, Angie's Potential of Talent 3)
Lets Makoto know that their parents are stressing about his post-graduation life (Summer Camp, Makoto's Potential of Talent 2)
Gives Toko her thoughts on her favorite books that Toko's written (Summer Camp, Toko's Potential of Talent 3)
Byakuya thanks her for keeping Toko and Genocide Jack distracted during the summer (Summer Camp, Byakuya's Campfire 3)
Bonds with Tsumugi over manga (Summer Camp, Tsumugi's Campfire 3)
Quite possibly saw [and spoke to] the spirit of Korekiyo's sister (Summer Camp, Korekiyo's With Swimsuits)
Toko gives her advice on her future manga (Summer Camp, Toko's My Future)
Used to play video games with Makoto a lot as a kid (Summer Camp, Potential of Talent 1)
Plays video games with Chiaki and is glad to have another person to talk to at the camp (Summer Camp, Potential of Talent 1)
Monomi helps Komaru come up with a goal to achieve at the camp (Summer Camp, Potential of Talent 2)
Masaru absolutely smokes Komaru at juggling (Summer Camp, Summer Festival 3)

I really need to draw echo unicorn (shuichi saihara) from my au because there's so much material that's waiting to be shared to another soul one day. (it's like an udg au, not an mlp au)
I might share the bittersweet stuff first instead of the outright horror but everything feels like it needs several layers of explanation of how things got to be the way it is, especially with the multiple branching endings and the au of the au with the rest of the ultimates being essentially magical girls in a ghost realm once they die (it's complicated). I need a board to create a timeline just to explain it cause it's a little too long. To sum up the main plot, shuichi gets adopted by rebel kids during the tragedy. Nothing to do with the little ultimates though.
Tumblr media
I'm making a fun facts for it now
Fun Facts
Shuichi cannot drive due to having one eye left, to his horror the kids drive when needed instead. He's usually given GPS duty.
Shuichi wears a glove(s) with metal claws at the ends to zap things.
Shuichi can zap things with electricity
Shuichi finds the remains of DICE (kokichi's small prankster group) and uncovers a memory book the members kept. Since the photos are technically evidence, it was kept secret from kokichi. Shuichi saves the book just in case.
One of rantaro's sisters is part of the wild kid clan that shuichi is in, he does not find this out until a reunion ending.
Shuichi has watched all televised killing games except v3 because it doesn't exist.
There is a huge culture of modding out monokuma helmets in rebel kid clans. Shuichi has a cat helmet with a screen on the front with a single yellow left eye displayed (his left, our right). All modded helmets can talk over public channels or private ones, record video and audio, store notes, and anything else the kids program. Even live midi programs.
Year 4 is when shuichi loses his left arm.
Shuichi does not get fun aesthetic clothing design like the ultimate uniforms did, he has to take what he can scavenge.
Shuichi is unable to sleep alone due to his own codependent trauma and the fact he always ends up dogpiled by the kids at night.
Shuichi misses his friends but is also terrified of seeing them again incase they ended up turning to despair.
The wild kid clan has put on plays for despair kids to earn favors/resources from them.
There's no universal term for shuichi from the kids, he's been called big brother, old man, big kid, detective, and uncle. He had to take a moment after the first time he was called uncle.
Shuichi didn't watch his uncle die but he was one wall away and asleep when it happened. Maybe if he had been awake...
Shuichi gets really good at singing because he kept getting asked to sing lullabies as the designated caretaker figure.
In the average reunion ending, the v3 cast experience 7 months while 7 years pass in real time. excluding shuichi and tsumugi.
Technically, shuichi never graduated from highschool.
My favorite reunion endings involve the time reversal, only in the magic au, which can take on many forms but essentially the entire solar system gets reversed to the state it was a year before the events of tragedy. Shuichi gains everything he lost but loses everything he gained, he mourns the loss of the kids who are likely doing better now than during the tragedy apocalypse and he feels guilty over it. Empty nester to the extreme and he has to act like his normal mostly untraumatized 16 year old self despite being 24 mentally, deeply traumatized, and missing his found family.
Shuichi has a long necklace with with individual beads made by kids who think of him as a friend or family. And since kids are pretty sociable, he has a lot of beads. He fidgets with it to calm down.
