one of the weirder more unexplained phenomena on this site are those people you'll sometimes see in fandom tags who make like... stimboards of some completely uncontroversial character and then they have the most bizarre DNIs underneath like. a banner of some cartoon character and "DNI: NAZIS, WAR CRIMINALS, AXE MURDERERS, HOMOPHOBES, POOL TOY FETISHISTS, PEOPLE WHO LIKE CHERRY COKE, ANYONE WHO HAS EVER SHIPPED THE TRAINS FROM THOMAS THE TRAIN ENGINE TOGETHER" and all of these are posited like they're equally bad. but it's only stimboard posts that have these banners. absolutely no one else ever does these

Completely random question that just occurred to me: With all the multiverse events and multiple version of the turtles running around, would the dragons ever get confused over which ones are THEIR turtles? Even only temporarily? The dragons are mystical reflections of the turtles (as far as I understand), so I'd understand if they can pick their turtles out of the crowd. But I think it WOULD be funny if they got confused or accidentally followed the wrong turtle for a bit. 😂

It would be very hard for the dragons to loose their turtle in a crowd or mistake them for someone else

But if they quickly changes places with someone or a dragon was distracted, they could accidentally cuddle up to the wrong counterpart

i really like how in your curlfeather conversation, she talks about Mistyfoot/Mistystar like they're two separate entities and not the same cat. Is this because of her dedication to be a "warrior" in the way the tags are described, or is it for other reasons?

It's her commitment to her sense of honor in the way described in the tags, and a reflection of the way she feels RiverClan (and her bloodline) had declined.

Mistyfoot had been strong enough to defy the code, when it was necessary. Leopardstar was a frothing mess in the Battle of the True Eclipse, so the great reveal that she had been assassinated to protect the Clan wasn't a shock to her-- it made sense.

It was clear to Curlpaw (age shuffle, she is slightly older in BB) that killing her had been a practical, rational choice.

The Code, to her, is a guideline and a tool. Honor doesn't come from the law; the law comes from honor. Good leaders can, and should, bend it when the future of the Clan is at stake. MistyFOOT was willing to make those tough calls when MistySTAR would work with the impostor, so her respect lays with a version of her grandmother she never met.

Curlfeather isn't quite a Traditionalist, but she isn't quite a Thistle Law supporter either. I understand her as a sort of Neo-Traditionalist, someone who greatly respects the law and the "old ways" of cultivating strength within the Clan, but believes that it these traditions must sometimes be broken in order to protect them. Functionally, she's standing with the Hard Traditionalists.

(Like Mudclaw many years ago, ultimately your personal beliefs don't mean much if you're willing to empower fascists.)

throwback to an old rot!moon au i made where pebbles stays healthy. in this au arti doesnt lose her pups, however they become very sick so she brings them to pebbles. he offers to cure them in exchange for artis abilities to fight the rot and keep it off of the precipice (and slow moons rotting, if possible)

because this is dangerous, obviously this means pup-sitting for pebbles.

I love that Black Sails has all these deep, complex, flawed but motivated characters that could each get entire essays written about them, make it impossible to fully root for them or against them, who interact in all sorts of complicated ways that can flip on a dime because of one change in circumstances...

And then they're just like, "Here, have a lost puppy with big sad wet eyes that shakes like a leaf in the wind. He doesn't do anything except be confused and scared. No one on any side even thinks to hurt a hair on his little head. He's Ben Gunn btw."
