Something about qTubbo not just going on a silent killing spree, but making sure it's equal and fair to his opponents sends chills down my spine.
This feeling of seeing someone devolve from hopeless diplomacy to mindless slaughter in just one day and STILL seeing remnants of that fairness yesterday's person so desperately hoped for just. Haunts me
This whole time he could've went for every single kill, could've struck and maimed, could've been showered in a bloodbath day after day
But he chose to farm impossible resources instead, nerfing his whole team to make everything fair.
It haunts me.
It makes me think about what put Tubbo in that ice prison in the first place, just how much is he capable of?
If pushed far enough what would he do?
I mean we saw a glimpse of the lengths he'd go to with Quackity, and even THEN he didn't lay a single finger on the duck.
He could've killed him over and over and over and overandoverandoverandover, but he didn't. He phycologically fucked with his mind.
Just who is Tubbo really?
An engineer, the youngest of the server, kind, slightly naive to a fault, trusting, selfless.
A better question might be "who WAS Tubbo".

cWilbur headcanons? this is definitely a bit of a long winded one, but they all kind of tie into the theme of "Wilbur likes flowers".
Phil got him into gardening when he was young. Wilbur enjoyed the process of making his own vegetables, of cooking soup with his father and relishing in the pride that they made something beautiful. This also tied into his history with Techno, often recounting legends linked to the craft during the long summer afternoons as Wilbur trailed behind him with stars in his eyes, even if this was the 15th time he'd heard the stories, even if he accidentally spilled vegetables out of the basket he was carrying because he was paying more attention to Techno's prose than his own dexterity.
He loved the wildflowers he would find in the fields in harvest, making wishes on every dandelion found, but his favorites were the buttercups. They were the first flowers he'd ever made an effort to collect, and the first seeds he had managed to plant. He would ask questions about the blooms, to which Phil would give the best answers he could. Techno would light-heartedly dare him to eat the blooms, to which Phil would then have to pull the blooms out of the child's mouth as Techno laughed, not expecting him to take the challenge so readily. Phil would laugh too, out of disbelief more than anything, but he kept more of an eye on the blooms Wilbur picked from then on.
The years pass and summers come and go. Phil plants vegetables. Techno helps with the harvest. Wilbur helps keep the fields clean and eventually grows his own garden. As the years pass, Wilbur finds himself growing more versed in the meanings behind certain blooms as well, often making bouquets out of metaphorical proses when he could. This is what brings him to meeting Sally, unaware that the flowers he'd been growing had now reached the outskirts of the body of water she resided in; he's almost worried he broke her privacy before she admits in awe that she'd never seen the sort of flowers he grew before. This grows to them talking more and more, until he finally, hands shaking, gives her a bouquet he'd been working on longer than she could imagine. It's the first time she kisses him.
The tradition of gardening passes down throughout his family; first to his son--his little champion, his Fundy--who would help with the flowers, and eventually to Tommy and Tubbo, who would oft sing to the vegetables and wheat. It's Tommy's song that sparks what would bloom into a symphony: the beginning of L'Manburg.
He grows less flowers than he'd like to once he becomes the President. He doesn't have the time for it, he already has so much... but the habit doesn't leave the other residents of L'Manburg. Niki surprises him with her own homemade bread and daisies one morning, and he doesn't know how he manages to keep from crying as he hugs her. (She will keep growing flowers, even as the years pass and she moves from place to place, but none of them will look the same as they did in L'Manburg, in her eyes.)
There is one flower in Pogtopia, despite everything. A poppy, bloomed in the cracks of a place just barely touched by the sun. He can't bring himself away from it in the beginning; it makes him think of life always returning, even despite the end. It is quickly forgotten as the autumn passes, as the worst of it finally comes.
(He doesn't know if he wants flowers on his grave. He had always loved them, but he doesn't know if he'd deserve them. He doesn't know what people would write with them.)
(He doesn't know if he finds it better or worse that he never got a grave to begin with.)
(Before he comes back, however, Phil notices something in the caves overlooking where L'Manburg once stood. Buttercups bloom in the small patches of dirt. The sight makes him weep when he recognizes them.)
(One of the first things Wilbur sees when he visits Phil again is a bundle of wildflowers the latter had been collecting. It's not long after that Wilbur's speechless silence is interrupted by his father's embrace.)
Wilbur picks up the habit of gardening again, after everything. It's the peace he's finally managed to convince himself of feeling. He missed the grass beneath him, he missed the earth that clung to the soles of his shoes, but he missed the life of it all. He had been scared to admit it when he returned, and he had felt the fear again only months prior...
But today he is beaming, grass beneath his palms and daisies in his hair. The field is full of tulips and sunflowers. His garden is blooming into something beautiful, and, in a way, so is he. He is, well and truly, alive.
i cant even add anything to this it’s already perfect. nonnie this is so beautiful i love it
#this is also compliant with my hc that cphil gardens 😭😭 YOU ARE PANDERING!!! /j /lh#why are my anons the most talented people ever THIS IS SO WELL WRITTEN U HAVE GOT TO POST IT URSELF NONNIE. U DESERVE THE CLOUT /lh#talking#anon#long post#<333 i loveeeee#c!wilbur hcs

You guys are giving me way too much power by letting me talk about acting
@minecant you wanted me to rant about Techno and Wilbur's acting? Well, you asked for it
Let's start with Techno bc I realized something this morning and I cannot get it out of my head, let's go.
Techno has a really peculiar way of acting compared to anyone else, his character is a lot more aware of the fourth wall than any other character is, and actually having to keep in check a character that, to certain acting degrees, could be almost considered self-aware is actually harder than you can imagine, and of course everything that's kinda hard in scripted acting goes to a whole new level of difficoult in improv; but on the other hand, his type of acting (more specifically: the voice acting) is on the same page of 3 other characters: Tubbo, Fundy and Niki. Follow me on this, alright? The basically only thing that these 4 characters, that narratively are so different from each other,is the way they are voiced. All four of then have a really specific way of talking and talking pattern, to the point where even if you were to put the voices in a voice-changer you could still know what character is talking just because of the way they talk. Let me elaborate: Fundy usually his voice doesn't let a lot of emotions through and his speech is usually straight to the point, keeping his tone medium and trying to keep his voice relaxed; Niki's usual tone is soft and lighter, is easy to not hear it with her low tone of voice and higher pitch that give her a kinder undertone; Tubbo's tone is also one in a softer scale and lower of volume, but where Niki is easy to miss Tubbo lets a bit more emotion in all phrases to make himself pop out, he doesn't tend to go straight to the point in conversations and his tone is pretty much constant; Techno doesn't let emotions shine through his voice, more like Fundy, but to the extreme, keeping a completly monotone type of speech in basically all the situations and isn't very talkative, a character that talks one when he feels like it's needed and goes straight to the point of the conversation, not caring how that makes him come across to the other characters.
These 4 have incredibly set in stone characters, keeping always to their own set of acting rules for them. It's not easy to set yourself acting rules for your characters in an improv, but if you manage to do it's an in incredible help. Even Wilbur's character was more unhinged under that point of view, his "standard" continuing to change slightly as his mental stage declined.
But you know where does the actual strenght of having these things set in stone for your characters? That the emotions are a lot more powerfull. Let's think about it, why most of the emotive scene shock us? You can usually feel the emotions because the tone of voice lets these emotions through, it hits you because it wasn't there before, it's a switch between the usual voice and the emotive one, it gives you whiplash, but why am I talking about this?
Because these characters are able to express their emotions with a lot more power, because they always talk in a really specific way, you get used ti their tone and speech pattern without noticing it, so you maybe not actually understand it, but your brain notices when the pattern breaks, and since it is a really set in stone one, when it gets broken the whiplash is extreme. Just like when Niki rebelled against Schlatt, the whiplash was her raising her voice and abandoning the soft tone she always used, but kept the classic amount of emotions in her voice, the same thing happens with Techno and his speech: some emotions start to get throught, he doesn't get to the point quickly as always, instead he keeps on talking with extreme confidence in every word, the same confidence he always has. Whiplash guys, whiplash.
I didn't mention Quackity as one of the set-in-stone-speaking characters, because he switches too much to set the rules enough to shock when broken. I'm not saying at all that he isn't a good actor, on the contrary, his acting just works on different bases, example, Try looking at the Quackity vs Schlatt argument compared to the Tubbo vs Tommy: when Quackity got angry it wasn't expected, it was a bit alienating, it didn't feel like the Quackity we know because it was incredibly different than how his character speaks, too different (Which still isn't bad, at all, that scene was phenomenal); when Tubbo got angry it still felt like Tubbo, you could still pinpoint it was Tubbo even without hearing his voice, because even if the voice is raised, the amount of emotions is the same and the speech pattern is the same, just to the next level. So yeah.
I don't even feel like talking about Techno's lines tho, these are amazing under every technical point of view and you guys know that, so let's go to Wilbur.
Wilbur, Wilbur, Wilbur, where can I begin with Wilbur? Not only he had an extraordinary arc for his own character, he also wrote an incredible story- this guy's voice acting is off the charts in every way possible, are you telling me he didn't take acting classes as a kid? i do not believe you. Like, at all. He has a perfect hang on his voice, but this could be because he's also a singer: expressing emotions during songs is harder than you think, because you cannot let emotions ruin your exibition by making your voice crack at the wrong part or making you mess up the timing, but you also need to let them shine through or the voice will seem flat and Wil knows that perfectly, just listen to Your City gave me asthma and you'll understand what I'm going on about here.
Wilbur Soot is a showman. He manovrated the stage to shine a spotlight on himself, making us see what he wants us to see: that's why it took us so much to realize that the character didn't just "go insane" out of nowhere, the seeds were always there, we had all the hints we needed, but he was able to move his character around it, around the arc, in such a way that made us overlook all of those details until they slapped us in the face. He showed us the consequences of his character through other characters, he acted and spoke in a certain way to get a reaction from the others, and the others reacted in the exact way Wilbur planned. And those things aren't scrpited, only major plotpoints are. Wheter this was intentional on his part or it was a coincidence it's not clear, but in either cases it's still pure skill and genius.
Wilbur knew how to act and interact with every character, it's impressive
He even knew how to get Dream on his act on the festival narrative, Dream isn't always top notch at improv and we know that, but if he can get in the loop he is absolutely a distructive force, it's terrifying, and Wilbur knew exactly what to do to get Dream inside the loop of events and it's incredible.
You could guess he knew how to act with Tommy, Tubbo, Ph1lza, Techno and Schlatt, of course he did, he already knew them, but right now he has an incredibly difficoult bit with someone I would have never guessed if I didn't watch the SMP, with Fundy. I have not been in the fandom for a lot of time, but it seems like the two actually met each other on the SMP. They are carrying and incredibly emotional taxing bit with each other, and the SMP lore started just this year- more or less 7/8 months I think? Correct me if I'm wrong. The story bit these two are on is a delicate one, one wrong step and the situation explodes. The fact that they are capable to carrying it even without having known each other for a long time is honestly impressive. Things like this are incredibly hard even when scripted, in improv usually only people who blindly trusted each other for a long time are able to carry it, meanwhile Wilbur and Fundy are flawlessly running with this story arc, the character interactions are perfect, ever act, every word is so incredibly in character for both of them, in scenes like this having to keep perfect track of your character is hard, you have to concentrate on the scene, you cannot stop to think about it, you have only one take and you cannot afford to slow down the act or you risk losing the atmosphere and the momentum of it, and if you do that you'e screwed, you lost an entire scene. In improv you cannot afford slipping up, but if you actually do you have to be incredibly quick to catch yourself, lose two seconds too many and the moment is broken.
Wilbur Soot is incredibly quick to adapt his acting to ever change in his character, having to jump from the power hungry, driven crazy, obsessive, unhinged, paranoid character that is Wilbur to the sad, guilty, scared, repressed, just-wanting-to-be-happy, forgetfull, ignoring character that is Ghostbur is not something easy. Like, at all. It's a cspital switch, and he did it from a day to the other like it's nothing.
Mr Soot please leave some talent to the rest of us come on-

op I am pleading for you to talk about c!Schlatt I keep getting interrogated for saying c!Schlatt was the best president and he really didn't do anything super terribly wrong please talk about him
i mean... im sorry anon but idk abt best PRESIDENT. manburg under schlatt.... kind of sucked imo JFKDLSJFKL
1. manburg had massive food shortages, to the point the average citizen (including fundy) had to eat spider eyes to survive.
2. he imposed ludicrious tax of his civillians (namely niki. we dont know if he did that to Every Business like w fundy or if he targeted niki specifically bc of her closeness to the ex-president, but neither is good)
3. exiled those who he saw as political opponents to keep his power
4. straight up ignored his cabinet a lot of the time to make his own decisions (such as destroying the white house, which led to quackity leaving)
5. was widely hated by all the citizens. literally at one point all the ppl left in manburg was schlatt and jack manifold (who was MIA on the server and left to found Manifold Land when he came back)
6. held a public execution, AGAIN without the consent or knowledge of his cabinet (IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. i know big q opposed the execution at minimum, but idk for sure if he knew it was planned at all before the festival)
7. was basically at war his entire presidency thanks to pogtopia's existence
and thats just what i can think of rn! the reasons i like c!schlatt are fully based around him as a character and HIS personal development, not around his policies or actions. especially when compared to the other two presidents, who either won or prevented a war and kept the majority of its citizens happier and healthier than Manburg, he's.... probably the worst president they had tbh
BUT since you gave me an excuse to ramble abt him anyway, i wanna go on abt what i DO like abt him (under a cut bc this post is already kinda long oops) but
tldr; i like schlatt bc of his relationships with others, his flaws and pitiable moments, and how he is a fantastic parallel/foil to the characters around him
I like his complex (and yes, abusive) relationship with quackity, especially after his death and quackity's feelings flipping rapidly between hating him and missing him. but before that they did have a honeymoon-esque period-- at least from quackity's view.
watching their date you get the idea schlatt mightve never really been interested in him and mightve just been using quackity's interest in him for his own advancement! but we dont know.
maybe he did truly love quackity in his own fucked up way in the end, even if he wasnt a good person. maybe he regrets his actions and cruelty. or maybe he doesnt.
in the end they were (like the animatic i linked said) "built from the same dirt", they're both incredibly ambitious and prideful people and parallel each other a LOT (see: q's need for power, his want to execute ranboo paralleling tubbos execution, etc). they're not good for one another, but i love seeing just how they fall apart together (i hope you die, i hope we both die kind of beat)
and.... god his relationship and impact w fundy i could ramble abt all day dude. fundy kept schlatt's sword after his death and calls it an heirloom. we dont know 100% how old fundy was when wilbur was exiled (i mena... he ran for president but current fundy is like 20something and tommy ALSO ran as vp at 16) but we can assume he was a late teen. his own father was gone, but schlatt... seemed to CARE. he showed him affection.
fundy's never truly felt like hes BELONGED anywhere (even the country his father said was all for him, he felt ostracized and made different by his fathers doting babying) and because of that hes always looking for a group to be a part of. hes a people pleaser (its part of why hes so easy for big q to get for las nevadas).
and schlatt GIVES him that feeling of belonging he deserves. hes a spy the entire time, yes, but he becomes conflicted about it as time goes on.
could schlatt just be using fundy and filling his head with empty praise? sure, i couldnt fault you at all for that interpretation, its perfectly valid. BUT, i dont think so. he seemed genuinely shocked to see fundy oppose him on nov 16th. remember, he didnt know fundy was a spy.
in that moment he realizes just HOW alone he is and always has been. and its a tragic moment: the last person he had, the person he himself mightve truly CARED about left him just like everyone else. he was alone, truly and fully. even his allies were only there out of obligation and bc of him paying.
he knows his health has been failing him. he cant even swim due to muscular issues but he refuses see a doctor about it because he refuses to let himself be seen as weak.
hell, one could argue that issue leads to his abraisive and abusive behavoir in relationships: he refuses to let himself be true and genuine to anyone, there always has to be a wall and a proud perfect persona. its part of why hes a great villain both in narrative and to watch as a casual fan: just like c!wilbur, he's playing an act.
hes a foil and a parallel to wilbur. both are men who hide their true selves behind a certain role or persona they feel they have to play while they hide their crumbling health (schlatt's more physical and wilbur's more mental). both experience their rise and fall. but wilbur isnt despised, even if he thinks he is, while schlatt isnt truly loved by anyone, even if he thinks he is.
most of all, their deaths couldnt be more different. wilbur went out with a bang. a large dramatic scene fit for a storybook, with a long monologue and cinematic final blow ALL made to fit how he saw himself in a story and simply filling a required roll. but schlatts death is practically overlooked (especially in comparison to wilburs death and everything else that happened that day).
he built his entire persona about being this massive, larger than life powerful guy but he died small, weak, and frail to his own failing body. its... pitiful, honestly. it doesnt feel fitting, it feels wrong. his life up that point demanded drama, but his death was nothing more than... an accident, almost. unintentional. clumsy. its fucking brilliant.
#dream smp#schlatt#quackity#fundy#mcyt#THIS IS A LONG POST BUT PLEASE IF YOU CAN READ IT#BC IM RIGHT AND SMART AND SEXY!!!!#also bc he is VERY underrated in a critical analysis way <3#wilbur#HES THERE TOO#answered#anon#anyway once again anon im sorry for uh. immediately disagreeing but manburg was indeed Not Great#even if he DIDNT directly cause them by an action he took#the time he governed was Generally Bad#like wilbur didnt do fuck shit during lmanberg era BUT the citizens in general were happy and fine so he inherently did Better#even if schlatt did equal amounts of Nothing#he did a lot of wrong but like he was tragic abt it so its okay FJDKSLFJKL#anyway time to unapologetically main tag in hopes tumblr doesnt do that top 5 tags thing anymore bc this took so much time and i want attent#dsmp analysis#schlatt analysis#og post#(jeb bush voice) please clap

A Fundy and Tommy meeting, and neither of them knows how to express their feelings without screaming.
Its ends well, don’t worry. I’m after my second clown certificate
Tommy was alone in his tent. Not even Dream was around this time. He kept breaking logs, building "tiki torches" and trying his best to not look at the beach. It had passed 2 days already, and no one appeared, so they certainly didn't care. Ghostbur passed around the beginning of the day, now off to find a horse (Ghostbur remembered that Tommy had a horse, once. It made him happy, so he was after another one), but Tommy couldn't care less. Ghostbur also didn't appeared at his beach party.
Only Dream. Like always.
Maybe it was meant to be like that.
His pity thoughts were interrupted by the sound of someone crossing the portal, his first thought being "Tubbo!". Tommy quickly brushed it off, Tubbo didn't care enough to visit him. "Ranboo?" Was his second guess, but he didn't hear the usual greetings, so it wasn't the half enderman. Then, it was set on "...Dream", as it should be in the first place. He sighed, quickly taking off his newly made iron armor.
"Hello, Dream.... Let's get this done alrea-"
Tommy turned around, looking to a very confused face that certainly wasn't Dream. Fundy was holding something in an picnic bag, those ones that kept the cold inside, some ashes in his clothes and a lil bit of the jacket more burned.
"I really don't know if I should ask about the 'Dream' thing, or why you put a fucking plank to people get to your portal." He kinda laughed, trying to brush of the uncomfortable mood.
Tommy went silent, holding his armor close and and walking away from Fundy. "If people want to visit me, they need to fucking prove it." Tommy said, bitter as he never was before.
Fundy left the picnic bag at Tommy's tent, watching the kid put his things in a secret chest. "Well, you are only making it easier to die. I fixed it after I crossed" Fundy smiled, proud of himself.
Tommy froze, turning back to the fox. "You did what?" Conflicted feelings were fighting inside of him now. On one side, he was angry that Fundy was messing with his ideas and plans. At the order, he was so happy. If Fundy fixed it, it was because he had the intention to come back more often, and Tommy was so happy with it.
"Fixed the bridge, we don't wanna people falling down in their way here, do we?" Fundy smiled at Tommy as soon as he approached.
Tommy was tempted to smile too, but he was seeing something off. This was Fundy. The scammer. The once traitor. The sly fox.
The voice in his head wasn't even his anymore, sounding too much like a certain masked man, filling him with doubt and fear.
"What the fuck do you want?"
Fundy looked like he just got slapped in the face, not imagining this reaction, specially out of nowhere like that.
"What? What do you mean, Tommy?"
"You must be after something, aren't you?" Tommy's words were filled with anger and resentment, the monsters in his mind talking for him. "What is it? Untouched forest? Mines still unexplored?" He slowly approached Fundy, pointing at his face.
"Tommy, I'm not after any of those things!" Fundy explained himself, now more worried than ever.
Tommy let out a dry laugh, looking around now. "So, it's because you fucking pity me, don't you?" He pointed to himself now, then to the picnic bag. "You even brought up a pity present!"
Fundy was just bringing some primecicles he and Ranboo had just made, but he couldn't spoil any of it. "Tommy, I'm not pitying you." He tried to reason, pitching the bridge of his nose. Patience, Fundy... The kid is messed up. Don't make it worse.
"Yes, you are! You don't care about me! None of you care about me!" Tommy walked away, laughing. “You all doesn’t even bother to visit me anymore!”
Fundy couldn’t be more confused. He was right there, visiting. What the hell was happening to Tommy?
The coder was a smart person, even if people tend to overlook it. Fundy noticed the explosion holes poorly covered up, the dull blue eyes, the beaten up clothes. He just didn’t want to address it in order to not make the atmosphere uncomfortable, but Tommy was really pushing up. Fundy and Tommy never had any boundaries in their fights, being pretty open about their sides, and things were starting to spill, hot and hurtful.
“Tommy, I am right here and...” Fundy got interrupted by Tommy’s outburst, tears forming at the corners of the kid’s eyes.
“YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT ME!” Tommy shouted, screaming loudly enough to scare a nearby bird. “NONE OF YOU EVEN MISS ME! YOU ALL LEFT ME ALONE!”
Even if Tommy was the one crying and shouting his feelings out loud, he saw the moment he messed up. Fundy’s ears flattened against his head and his tail went still. Tommy, the once brave and reckless Tommy, took a step back when he saw Fundy clenching his fist.
“Oh, you think people left you?” Fundy’s voice was low, a bittersweet smile now open.
Tommy was hurt in so many ways, indescribable ones, but Fundy wasn’t far behind.
Fundy approached Tommy, looking at the teenager in the eyes.
“Say it again.”
“...What?”
“Say it again, Tommy!” Fundy raised his voice, losing his limit. Neither of them was good with hiding their feelings. “Say again that people are leaving you!”
Tommy opened his mouth to repeat, but nothing was said. Fundy looked as hurt as him, and he was clearly not pitying the teenager, so Tommy was willing to listen
Fundy breathed in, trying to calm himself. “Tommy, you were the one who made that Christmas tree?”
“...No”
“Those discs you have right now, you got them alone?”
“No.”
“Did you built the tent alone?”
“No, but...”
“The very first day...” Fundy’s voice broke a little, but he quickly dismissed it. “You were alone here?”
“Ghostbur came with me.”
“Yes, he did.” Fundy sadly smiled, his voice a lot calmer now. “Who helped you with the beach?”
“Drea-”
“No.” Fundy cut him short, a hand on his shoulder. “That fucking bastard is the cause you are here. He basically forced your exile to happen. He was not helping, he was watching.” Tommy closed his eyes, his mind spinning.
Dream is a friend. Dream put you here. Dream has been good with you. Dream is a fucking monster. Dream cares about you. Dreams cares about nothing but the discs.
“Tommy... Who was here with you, helping with the beach?” Fundy’s voice was soft, as he hoped that he wasn’t pushing too much.
“Ghostbur, you, and Phil...” Tommy’s voice was so small, so broken.
“Yes, we were.” Fundy waited for Tommy open his eyes, which he did, tears stains in his face.
“Ranboo tries to visit you everyday, and I’m trying to do the same.” Fundy reassured Tommy, looking around. “But... Dream is always here, and we don’t want to mess anything and lose contact with you.”
Tommy blinked, pieces matching together. That was why his friends weren’t there? Because of Dream? That was why Dream was always there?
“Ranboo also told me about a beach party... That I never got the invite...”
“Dream said it was delivered by Ghostbur in your mails!” Tommy shouted again.
“We don't even have mailboxes in L’manberg, Tommy! How we could have received mail?” Fundy snapped back.
Tommy felt like everything was falling apart again, revealing a not so pleasant truth. “He... He could have slipped under the doors... or...”
“Tommy. There were no invites.” Fundy held him by his shoulders again.
They went silent, Tommy’s eyes darting around while his whole reality was shaking. “But... Tubbo hates me, right? He destroyed the compass.” He sounded lost again.
“It was my fault.” Fundy mumbled, not looking at Tommy. “He died and... I should have been faster when picking up his stuff, a creeper ended up exploding it... The compass broke. But Tubbo still have it, even if it doesn’t have the needle anymore.” Tommy felt like crying again.
But Dream said...
Dream was fucking lying.
“I know he doesn’t visit you... He is scared that you hates him.” Fundy confessed. “That’s why he came when you weren’t around.” He played with his jacket, looking at the portal’s direction. “Tubbo misses you, man.”
Tommy angrily cleaned his tears, looking at Fundy. He pushed the fox, not as strong as he was thinking. “Stop lying to me!” He shouted, trying to push Fundy again. He felt Fundy holding his arms, and he didn’t have the strength to fight back. Tommy was still crying, not knowing in who to believe.
Dream was there everyday for him, he have Tommy gear, he was the only person not pitying Tommy- Tommy had so many other friends coming over, he had received things because his friends wanted to help him- Tommy was alone- Tommy was not alone.
“I am not lying, Tommy. I wouldn’t do this.” Fundy freed Tommy’s arms.
“You are always lying...” Tommy mumbled.
“Not about this.” Fundy was serious, Tommy could hear in his voice.
“Then... Dream lied to me.”
The fox just nodded, feeling that talking would interrupt Tommy’s line of thought.
Well, he didn’t expected Tommy to silent walk away, come back with a trident while walking towards the beach, and throw it away with the most angered, betrayed, heartbreaking scream Tommy had ever made.
Fundy approached Tommy, who was sitting on the sand, face hidden in his hands. Fundy hugged him by the side, rubbing his arm a little, and Fundy couldn’t stop the memories back at the L’manberg Independence war. Those cold nights where he, Tommy and Tubbo had to spend up on the walls, watching over for enemies. The two would always end up sleeping on Fundy’s shoulders, one with his jacket and other with his tail around. Wilbur gave up on scolding them for their lack of self care in sleeping on the job after some time, and just started to do the watching himself. Easier times that would never come back .
“I will fight him back.” Tommy said, looking up and sniffling.
Fundy smiled, seeing that small spark in Tommy’s eyes. “We are already planning something at our front” The fox got up, cleaning the sand in his clothes. “I’m not telling you what because its nothing set but... We just need you to be strong for only a little bit more.”
Tommy weakly smiled, still sitting on the sand. “I can try-”
“Nope. Cut of this ‘try’ shit.” Fundy was harsh, but he knew Tommy, the boy still had that fire on him, it just needed to grow. “You, Tommy Innit, Big Man...” He saw Tommy chuckle, and kept going. “The guy who learned ‘The green bastard will die’ in 6 different languages just to piss off the enemy, and also the most brave person that I know...”
Fundy put a dirt block on the ground, stepping on it. “... Will you keep going strong?”
Tommy got up with the help of Fundy’s hand, smiling again for the first time in weeks. “I will be the strongest.”
“YEEEEAH!” Fundy pulled him over the dirt block, changing places and looking up to Tommy, smiling widely when he saw the shine back to his eyes. “Let’s kill that fucking bastard!” Tommy cheered, thinking about his secret room, about his compass, about his friends, his family, his home.
They heard the portal, someone crossing it. They looked at Niki and Ranboo, both of them with a cake on their hands. “I think I just missed something.” Niki smiled, and Tommy had to stop himself to run in her direction. “Sorry for the wait!” Ranboo said, approaching them. “But Niki lives in the woods now, its sooo far away and-”
“It doesn’t matter.” Tommy cut, and he meant it.
They all sat on the table at the beach, never talking about L’manburg once, instead just laughing and enjoying the sunset.
Tommy was going to fight.
And he wasn’t going to be the loser again.

So I couldn't watch the entirety of Tommy's stream live because it was way to late for me and sleep is way more important but I'm awake now and ready to analyse, so let's get into it!
First of all:
This was the first stream in a while without c!Dream!
And it was lighter for it (though the eternal dread of Dream logging on is still ever-present). Instead we got Ranboo who was great! I think it didn't take long for his character to notice a few things that were wrong and he pointed them out (like when Tommy called Dream his friend and Ranboo pointed out that he's the one who got Tommy exiled, or when he kept asking about the pit thing) which was good. It gave Tommy a few moments of reflection and clarity over his situation.
Also Tommy clearly trusts Ranboo: he is one of the two people who Tommy is sure care about him (the other is Dream of course) and he shared with him his very first actual act of rebellion since the start of the exile (the secret room in ghostbur's house). Which could be good in the future.
Now the... less positive aspects:
Tommy was not willing to listen to Ranboo either about the invites nor the compass, which suggests that if he has to choose who to thrust on something he'll thrust Dream.
Also at the beginning we see him lash out towards Jack in a way that's clearly unprovoked and it takes him quite a while to see that he was in the wrong. So there's quite a bit of resentment boiling underneath the surface, no doubt reinforced by Dreams constant lies. Hopefully the "screaming station" will help him cope in a healthier way.
Also another worrying thing was how he explained the blowing up his stuff that Dream does: he was almost defensive of Dream and giving excuses for it, which is very common behaviour in victims of abuse.
Last two things I've noticed were: Tommy takes quite a while before he starts defending himself against mobs (in the occasions where he defends himself at all) which could be because of Dream conditioning him to be dependent on him for protection, and the fact that, when he died, the item he checked on was the trident. Not the compass that symbolizes Tubbo, but Dream's trident. Someone just stole the best friend's position... oof
Also, a couple of things from Tubbo's stream:
The chat was absolutely horrible today, they wouldn't stop bothering him about stuff his character obviously would have no odea about and I kept hoping he would just keep it in sub only, even if I'm not subbed. It was just THAT painful.
Still we learned a couple of things and the most important in my opinion was the confirmation that Dream is quite the manipulator even with other people. Case in point when chat kept spamming about Dream telling Tommy that Tubbo burned his "your Tommy" compass Tubbo said that that just didn't sound like something Dream would do. You know? Dream? The guy who orchestrated 2 betrayals and switched sides during the last war? The guy who literally forced him to exile his best friend? Yeah that guy would never lie.
The thing with the two of them is that Dream keeps praising Tubbo for everything constantly, and for someone who's been overlooked all his life (at least smp life) that's of course no small thing. Dream seems so nice and complacent now, of course he's not gonna have bad intentions!
And that's it for now I think. There were a couple more things I noticed in Tommy's stream but I think I'll talk about them later on when I have a more comprehensive picture.
For now all I have to say is that I think now Ranboo is the only one who may be able to actually help Tommy and get him away from Dream. But the green blob will certainly not make it easy...
#dream smp#dreamwastaken#tommyinnit#tubbo#ranboo#exile arc#mostly the other stuff I noticed was the weird disappearance of ghostbur#which we know nothing about yet#and Dream probably intercepting ranboo's and tommy's mail#which makes a lot of sense since tou know....#the blob is trying to isolate the child...#/rp#tw abuse mention#my post

Beeduo Doomed Friendship Fantasy AU — Prince Ranboo, Fae Tubbo
Cw: major character death, descriptions of fantasy violence
(I kinda wanna write this up as a fic at some point but I’m currently working on another project and don’t wanna have multiple going on at the same time so I’ve dumped the general plan of the story here. This plan isn’t final and I’ll probably after a few things if/when I do get around to writing it)
The story opens with a boy and his brother — Tommy and Wilbur — trekking along a trail on their way to a village on the other side of a forest-covered hill. They stop at a brook overlooking the woods and farmland below where a weathered statue of a boy holding a bouquet of tulips and alliums stands over the water, mossy and aged. Tommy asks who the figure is and Wilbur, being a travelling musician, gets out his guitar to tell the tale of how the statue supposedly came to be:
Ranboo was a prince of these parts long ago, living in the castle still visible in the distance (although now it only stands in ruin). He was descended from an ancient magical people known as the ‘Ender’ on his mother’s side, bearing a split appearance — half human, half Ender. Being half-Ender, he had been blessed with unbeatable strength but only when he entered the ‘Ender-Walk’ state (think of this as what ‘furor’ is to classical mythology), which was feared by the people because it was an ancient magic related to the fae. One day, the prince went hunting in the forest and got separated from his party, riding deeper and deeper into the thicket. As the mists rose, he caught sight of a golden goat climbing the hillside and decided to pursue it.
He tracked the goat even further away from the beaten path but ended up losing it at the banks of this brook. He did however see a beautiful flower bed of alliums and pink tulips nearby, deciding to pick some before he left. Little did he know that these were the sacred flowers of the fae. As he departed, a swarm of crows settled in the trees, watching him all the way back to the castle.
For some reason, the flowers never wilted. The prince kept them by his bedside. He also told his council of the golden goat to much interest. Some wanted to go and find the goat to capture it but the prince turned down the idea since he’d lost it. As he went about his days, crows settled in the rafters of the castle, much to the annoyance of the servants.
One day though he rose early and looked towards the misty forest. To his surprise, he saw a flash of gold at the edge. Immediately he dressed, grabbed his bow and ran to the forest. However, he once again could not find the goat. There were however tracks leading back to the brook. He rode out until he reached it again.
Here he found the goat by the water’s edge. Before his eyes, it transformed into a boy with brown hair, gilded horns and a beautiful golden tunic. The prince was star struck by this magic and immediately dropped his weapons, for now he realised this brook was a sacred place.
The boy asked him why he picked the sacred flowers and Ranboo apologised. It turned out this entire space was sacred and the boy wanted to make sure it was safe. He was also interested in the prince, having never met a half-Ender before (the Ender were a dying people. These days they are said to be no more than the stuff of legend).
The prince ended up spending the whole day at the brook until the sun was dipping over the horizon. He learned the name of the boy, Tubbo, as well as of every small creature of the pond — the sacred space which the boy guarded. He also learned that Tubbo was very lonely. By the end of the day, he promised to come and visit often, having started the beginnings of a friendship with the spirit.
Ranboo lived in a kingdom which was afraid of the fae and spirits. Therefore he could not tell his council, his guard or even his closest attendants about his secret meetings with the spirit in the forest since he wasn’t trying to kill or capture it. He oftentimes slipped out at the brink of dusk, travelling under the cover of night to talk to Tubbo by the water, in the woods or among the flowerbeds. Over time he came to know the fae of the forest. The boar-headed warrior. The flower sprites. These spirits usually roamed the deepest reaches of the forest, though they could also be summoned through the waters of the brook with the recitation of a summoning spell. There was also the crow king who lived high up in the mountains but sent his crows to watch over the activities of mortals and spirits alike. He came and went as he pleased, bound to no spells like the other fae were. The spirits became Ranboo’s friends, though Tubbo soon turned into his best friend. You see, Ranboo was also rather lonely in the castle, with no one to really call his friend, especially no one of his age. Although Tubbo was a spirit, immortal, he felt as though they understood one another.
One night, however, the guard Dream caught Ranboo sneaking away and followed him into the woods. The guard ended up being stopped by the boar-headed warrior, who warned him to turn away if he wanted to live. Dream did, however he planned to return to the forest with silver chains to trap the fae, as he believed the fairies were spiriting the prince away.
The next morning, Dream returned and found the golden goat, Tubbo, sleeping in the shade of the trees. He captured the goat and dragged it back to the castle as proof that there were spirits in the forest.
When the prince tried to rescue Tubbo, it only solidified that his mind had been ‘corrupted’ by the spirits. He was immediately locked in his room under heavy guard, a witch (George) being called in to cure him of his corruption. Meanwhile the council and Dream decided to free the goat, following it as it ran away in hopes that it would lead them to the other spirits so they could kill them. Setting the goat free, it fled and they followed close behind.
The prince ended up winning the pity and favour of the witch by promising him the unwilting flowers on his bedside table (they were magic, after all) and more flowers from the sacred field if he helped him escape. The witch then used his powers to put the guards to sleep and the prince was soon tailing the others on horseback. At the same time, crows were already delivering news of the conflict to the crow king.
The goat came back to the brook, transforming into Tubbo. He peered into the waters to summon the other spirits to his aid, as the silver chains had burned him badly, the skin on his wrists and ankles where the chains had been was already crumbling to a stony texture and he himself could not fight. As the crow king and boar-headed warrior arrived though, the humans arrived with their silver weapons. Soon a battle at the brook broke out, trembling through the forest as the night drew on. Closer and closer the prince came but soon he could see nothing, for a heavy fog engulfed the hillside.
By the time he found the brook, the crow king and the boar-headed warrior had dealt with all the humans and were about to kill the prince too, however Tubbo saved him. He also convinced the other spirits to go to the otherworld, arguing that enough blood had been shed at such a sacred place (plus Tubbo hated seeing death and violence so close to his home) and the otherworld needed overseeing now due to the impurities. The other spirits therefore returned to their domains.
As the sun rose, Tubbo went to gather the flowers for the witch at Ranboo’s request. The prince remained by the brook to bury the fallen humans off the path. The two planned to reunite at the break of dawn. Just as the sky was lightening though, the boy came back to the brook on the far side of the river. Little did he know that Dream was still lurking, half dead but with one last weapon: a silver-tipped arrow.
The boy was shot in the back with Dream’s silver arrow while crossing the bank towards Ranboo. The silver pierced his heart. The two shared a horrified glance, then the boy smiled. He murmured one final goodbye through tears, then turned to stone at the edge of the brook, petrified, smiling and holding the beautiful flowers.
In a fit of despair, the prince fell to his knees and hugged the statue, begging it to come back to life. Dream tried to get him to come home to the castle but he refused to move. Something snapped inside Ranboo — his Ender heritage let loose in a flurry of rage, entering the Ender-Walk. He attacked Dream, drawing his sword and lunging at the guard with all his might. They fought, and eventually Dream was seconds from death. However, just before Ranboo dealt the killing blow he saw the peace in Tubbo’s petrified face. This brought him to his senses; he didn’t want to disturb the sacred brook anymore. He let Dream live, though the wounds the guard received would forever stay with him. Ranboo returned to the statue, laying down his weapons and kneeling before it. Even after a whole day he would not move. Eventually, Dream left the glade but let a single horse stay for when Ranboo came to his senses.
After three days of not moving, letting himself grow hungry, thirsty and exhausted, sitting in front of the statue, thinking of how if the two of them had never met this would never have happened, the goddess of death herself ascended from the otherworld, having been called upon by her husband the crow king. She promised that the spirit of Tubbo would forever remain in these lands in the wind, in the water and in the trees. She also promised that those who brought about his death would suffer eternal punishment in her domain. For now though, Ranboo had to return to his kingdom. He had to live.
After a long talk, the prince finally agreed to go home, plucking a bunch of alliums and tulips from the sacred field and placing them in memory beside the statue, with a few more for the witch and one of each flower for himself. This is why the allium and the pink tulip are said to be the patron flowers of the land to this day. However, because the spirit of the brook had turned to stone, the magic of the glade seeped away and it became just a regular part of the forest.
Wilbur’s story finishes and Tommy is saddened by the ending. Wilbur reassures his brother that it’s just a story, an old local myth, and no one really knows how the statue came to be. Perhaps it is completely true? Perhaps it’s all made up. It turns out the two have spent the whole day by this brook. They continue onwards and make it to the next town by sundown. While looking for the inn, they run into two boys who help run the local flower shop. These boys match the descriptions of the boys in the story, though they are both human. They seem happy and offer Tommy a bunch of alliums and pink tulips because he still looks sad. This lifts Tommy’s spirits.
(This idea came from Tubbo talking about the ‘pond’ at the outpost coupled with all those Ender prince Ranboo hcs I’ve seen floating around. I liked the idea that Tubbo was the spirit of this pond who looked after it and all the little creatures within. However I also then had the lovely idea to make it a tragedy coz I’ve never really come up with one before but I love the idea of a doomed friendship. I decided to make it play out like a fairy tale, hence the prologue and epilogue is Wilbur telling Tommy a story. Also, because I’m a sap for a twinge of hope at the very end, you can imply that perhaps Tubbo and Ranboo reincarnated as humans in the village and can now be friends together, though I’d never specify if that really happened or if it’s just a coincidence that the flower boys look similar to how Wilbur described Tubbo and Ranboo.)

The Stars Shine Bright For Us
Hello! So this is a FundynotFound drabble, the prompt was given to me by @lemonade-flowers-yt . Thank you again for the prompt :D and I hope it's okay cause I don't know how to write for George.
Also, @sweetsheeptiger and @sweet-razz-tea since you guys wanted to be tagged XD
Anyway hope you guys like this!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He felt a hand grasp onto his shoulder, breaking him from the foggy daze he had lost himself to. George blinked his eyes open, glancing over as a familiar ginger-haired fox hybrid sat down beside him. They were both on a hill overlooking the bright glimmering lights of Manburg as the occasional citizen flickered in and out of view through the nation's alleyways. Fundy sat down beside him, a content and adorable smile on his face as he glanced up at the twinkling stars in the night sky. George felt his heart skip a beat at the sight, stuttering to a painful stop as he realized he could never hope to see that smile directed at him. It was surreal, being close to someone he could never really have. No matter what he did, Fundy will never chose him. Not after tonight and not for any moment in time either. He was hopeless.
"How was the date? Quackity told me you were out with Dream."
Warm golden-flecked brown eyes met his gaze, a mischievous grin on Fundy's face as he settled a bit closer to George. George frowned, hugging his knees closer to himself as he waited for the inevitable gushing. Quackity had been so vocal about it during the cabinet meeting, enough so that Schlatt had to toss him out because they were there to discuss important matters and not Fundy's suddenly blooming love life. George was glad the goggles kept his eyes hidden from sight, knowing that there was no chance in all three realms that he could keep himself from crying. No matter how much he ached to tell the fox hybrid of his feelings, he knew that it wouldn't matter and he didn't want to ruin their friendship. If only he could've been clearer beforehand. If only he had just gone out and said what his heart wanted him to profess. Now it was too late, and George was going to have to deal with that. He began to pluck at the blades of grass, tearing at them. He needed something to occupy his mind, something to make it seem he wasn't all that interested in whatever Fundy did with Dream during their date. Maybe Fundy would drop it once he realized George didn't really care.
"It was great! We ate dinner, watched Treasure Planet, and um... You know... Dream's not much of a talker, is he?"
"You kidding? He doesn't know how to shut up unless you tell him to. What? He didn't talk to you at all during the date?" George couldn't help the slight tone of anger in his voice, his lips pursing at the thought of Dream and Fundy talking to the point that they probably ignored the entire movie. A wave of silence greeted him as he finally forced himself to look at the fox hybrid next to him. Fundy had a soft smile on his face, a wry grin that didn't quite match the disappointment in his eyes. George felt guilty at that, knowing that Fundy probably came here to talk to him about the date. Fundy didn't have many friends in Manburg. Schlatt was protective and would throw a fit if he heard Dream's name mentioned in repetitive succession. Quackity couldn't be trusted to keep his mouth shut, probably going out of his way to tease Fundy about the whole thing. Tubbo was too young to be pestered by such things. That left George. It stung but that's what he was. A friend. A companion. Someone Fundy could talk to. He'd never be more than that. Fundy would never look at him as if there was the possibility of something more between them. "He probably doesn't like you then if he didn't talk much... He's a talker but only with people he likes... But... You're amazing, Fundy. I'm sure if he didn't like you before, he's certainly in love with you after tonight."
"Hm? You think so?" George wishes he could scream as Fundy suddenly presses closer to him, his head resting on the crook of George's neck... Which wasn't fair as George was the shorter person here. He stiffens under the hold, slowly reaching up a hand to caress Fundy's hair. Fundy's ears were flat against his head, a happy sigh escaping the ginger's lips as his eyes fluttered close. George wished it could stay like that... Wished the world would stop turning so he could savor this moment. It was difficult, being in love someone who could never love him back... Someone who wanted your best friend instead of you. George moved in a bit closer, waiting for Fundy to quickly pull away at the sudden shift of movement. He didn't. Instead, he felt Fundy's tail at his back, wrapping around his waist as it began to wag. Why did Fundy have to make his life more difficult? He felt his heart practically burst inside his chest at that action.
George had tried. Oh, Prime knows he tried. As clever as Fundy was, he was also quite oblivious to signs of affection. The excessive amount of sleepovers and picnic "friend" dates he's invited Fundy to. The fact that he's always made it a point to sit right next to him during cabinet meetings. The "accidental" elbow bumps each time either of them had to stand up to retrieve something. The constant act of making sure Fundy didn't fall asleep at his desk and each time he did George would have to carry Fundy back to his bed. Their small little tradition of meeting up every weekend on the very same hill they currently sat upon so they could watch the stars and fall asleep in the other's presence until either Quackity or Schlatt came up to wake them.
He tried so hard to get Fundy's attention... But it was never enough or maybe Fundy did notice and just didn't know how to turn them down. George closed his eyes, hand combing through silky ginger hair as he took in the scent of freshly-picked berries. He knew that by morning Fundy would be gone, perhaps having run off to his new boyfriend. George would wake up to the sound of Quackity's mocking voice or Schlatt's gruff command, realizing that he was utterly and miserably alone. Fundy would stop talking to him, stop going on small "friend" dates with him. Maybe he'd even stop going to their hill... Maybe one day George would be left to stare at the stars by himself, reminiscing in a love never meant to be.
"I hope not, though. Considering the date wasn't all that great."
"W-what do you mean?" Did he sound too hopeful? Too interested? George cleared his throat, glancing down at Fundy who had shifted to look up at him. George wondered if his heart was beating too fast... If Fundy could hear it and if he knew exactly what it meant. George thanked his lucky stars that that the shadows of the night had enveloped them, his blush hidden by the darkness as he forced himself to stay completely still. This might be his final moment with Fundy, he didn't want to do anything that could possibly mess it up. Fundy was still staring up at him with those cute eyes that made George nearly trip the moment he had first seen them. Quackity had laughed at him at that, not noticing that George was too busy staring at Fundy - too enamored - to even offer a bit of protest against the duck hybrid's teases. "I-I thought you said the date went great. Did something—"
"I lied... We didn't have much in common and Dream clearly didn't want anything to do with me." Fundy didn't sound too upset at that, picking at the edge of his jacket sleeve as if he was contemplating his next move. George tried to keep himself from celebrating, from jumping into the air and screaming at the top of his lungs. Fundy wasn't taken (pfft Fundy wasn't taken—), he still had a chance here. The relief melted away as realization settled back in. Even so, Fundy wouldn't pick him. Even if George tried to make his feelings more obvious... Fundy would probably laugh at him, taking it as a joke on George's part. "Besides... While on the date, I kind of realized something. I think... I think I like someone else. Someone I didn't really realize I liked until, well, tonight."
"Is it... Uhm... Is it HBo—?"
"WHAT?! No! George, what the fuck—" Fundy cackled, gripping George's arm as he burrowed his face deeper into the crook of George's neck. He was laughing, sending goosebumps across George's skin. Fundy finally moved his face away, his eyes twinkling with starlight as he finally glanced up at George. There was a smirk on his lips, his shoulders still shaking with remnants of the fox hybrid's amused laughter. "For one so smart you're so incredibly dumb... Heh... Guess we have that in common. George, I like you. I... I'm sorry I didn't notice sooner, but, I like you. I really do."
George felt his heart stop at that, the world fading away as he lost himself in those gold-speckled brown eyes that looked up at him with such affection. He let out a small chuckle, wrapping his arms around the fox hybrid's form. Fundy laughed at that, both of them moving so fast that they practically toppled to the ground in a messy heap of laughter. At the end, they both laid there against the grass, hands intertwined as they stared up into the starry sky and talked all the way through the night.
They both fell asleep in each other's arms. The stars shining down at them from above, the only witnesses to a love yet to bloom.
I saw someone at some point talking about how the first Techno-Tommy stream where they sneak into L’Manberg has both of them coming face to face with their first deaths and how differently they reacted. (I wish I’d made a note of where I saw this but oh well)
And I just kept thinking about how it makes sense psychologically.
(DISCLAIMER: I’m not actually a psychologist by any means. This is just stuff I’ve picked up out of casual interest. Also obviously this is a discussion about roleplay / fictional events.)
Tommy’s first death was sudden and unexpected, at the hands of someone he thought was a friend, and he had no control over the situation whatsoever. Having panic inducing flashbacks of that makes so much sense. He had felt relatively safe at that moment only to be brutally murdered within seconds.
Techno’s first death, well, for one thing he didn’t actually lose a life, he was instantly revived so that’s somewhat of an improvement, even though he was still crushed to death in a horribly gruesome manner. But it was also not as sudden, it was a slow build up from finding out that he was a wanted criminal to getting the warning from Phil to the Butcher Army actually arriving etc. etc. up until discovering that there was no trial and he was about to be executed. And he had some level of control over it. He chose not to run, he chose to give himself up to save Carl and chose to go into the cage and he knew he had the totem on him at the time. So it’s not really necessarily a less traumatic experience but it’s very different and it makes sense that his main trauma reaction seems to be rage. (Because that’s what I think it is, honestly.)
I mean he was also older and more experienced at the time, and had in fact seen death, and caused death himself. And of course there’s the fact that it JUST happened, he probably hasn’t even processed his feelings about it yet. He could still be sort of dissociating, he’s just sort of inspecting the scaffold, picking up the anvil and calmly explaining the mechanism to Tommy, like it doesn’t concern him. It kinda seems like he’s almost testing himself to see if he feels anything about it? It’s hard to say whether he does or not. (Speaking as someone who tends to be outwardly calm even while having an anxiety attack, you really can’t always tell.)
On the other hand, Tommy’s first death was shared with three other people who were his friends at the time. He wasn’t alone with his feelings. I don’t think they ever really talked about it properly but they knew they’d all gone through that together.* And I think what kind of shows that, although it’s also a personality difference, is that Tommy does actually talk about his feelings around the event (even if he doesn’t talk about the actual event), he talks about having PTSD and about finding it hard to deal with those memories. Because he knows there are three other people who have these feelings too. Idk, maybe.
* (Then again, the people he experienced that with are now gone from his life and he can’t have that wordless understanding anymore. Maybe that’s part of why his reaction this time was so severe? When before when he was with Wilbur he was willing to risk digging into the room even though it later became apparent that it was the bunker, not the final control room, but this time he’s with Techno who doesn’t know, who wasn’t there. (Definitely not the only reason though, his overall mental health is definitely also affecting it.))
Techno was completely alone, though. I mean he was literally in public obviously, but alone in the cage, alone in death. The only person on the server who experienced the same is... Tubbo. So yeah that’s not helpful. There’s literally nobody he can talk to who would know how it feels, so why risk the emotional toll of talking about his feelings about it? Of making himself vulnerable. I mean maybe he wouldn’t anyway, but still.
Also, something important about how trauma works that is often overlooked is what happens AFTER the traumatic event. And I think as jarring as it is how Techno goes back home to find Tommy being such a chaotic gremlin and messing with him, maybe that actually did help him. He didn’t just get home and end up brooding alone, he had an immediate distraction and familiar human company. A sense of normalcy.
(Which means that yes, I think they’re both helping each other cope right now.)
Buuut yeah definitely a big part of the difference is just their personality types and levels of experience with violence and death, and current mental health. I just find it interesting to speculate what other factors influenced their reactions.
Also I seriously think that the revenge thing is very much a coping mechanism for Techno. Not a healthy coping mechanism, but a coping mechanism all the same. I don’t think that’s ALL that it is, I do think that it’s also an ideological shift brought about by the revelation that there’s no retirement for him, pacifism really wasn’t an option. But it’s what he’s fixating on as a way to dismiss the terror of knowing that he isn’t safe and will never be safe again and neither will anyone he’s close to. This way he’s telling himself: they’re not in control, HE’S in control. He’s not afraid, THEY should be afraid. It’s kind of irrational, but understandable.
More Blood God Phil stuff because I be in a mood. @nkhaotic
Asked a question on Tubbo being a new Vassal of the Blood God, and got an answer. Then got to writing this. Tis would be my th thing to this AU, you guys haven’t seen my drawing yet. Hehe, this gave me alot to think about. (When I get inspired, I can write like crazy, it’s how I can go months without content, then post like five chapters in two days.)
Plot: Tubbo is taken out by Techno and Tommy for what they call some 'fun'. Basically, they are testing to see how he takes killing people.
This is what happens when you are listening to Addict by Silva Hound and Blood-Water by Grandson.
Note: Wilbur is dead in this one, given he had betrayed Phil for the 'newest' god Dream. Read it by NKhaotic on their Tumblr. Also, this is an AU, some things were changed from Cannon to fit into my narrative. Like Tubbo being the one who says Techno should be executed or Phil's 'house arrest', were not his ideas in this.
Warnings: Blood, Killing, Burning things, Explosives, these boys are just Feral okay.
Tubbo walked beside Tommy as they followed Techno out. Truth be told, he had just come to apologize to the other. See, he had no idea of them having taken him from his home for the execution. He had been told they found Techno in the city and thus it was considered right to do so. Enemy of one nation wasn't so much of the other. As far as he cared, Techno could have stayed away and he'd be allowed to live.
He never understood why people around him insisted on lying to get by, it was easier, to tell the truth, and then get your sweet revenge. Which still doesn't explain why they wanted to head out of the server together. Tommy seemed excited, near skipping as he walked. Any and all questions he asked were just answered with 'wait and see'. So, after getting this for the third time, he resigned to the fact they wouldn't tell him.
As they neared up the hill, a rather decent sized town could be seen in the distance. So they weren't dragging him out here to kill him, good to know. Techno hummed as he tossed to Tommy a crossbow and fireworks. "To answer your questions." the piglin said handing the same to Tubbo with a look. "We're here to wreak havoc and kill whoever stands in the way."
Tubbo stared at that, not sure what he was thinking or feeling about that thought. Tommy was grinning at him, "Consider this an... assessment!" he said cheerfully. "I'm sure you'll do great!" Watching as they headed out, Tubbo shook out of his thoughts and quickly followed after them. The way down was silent as if the world itself was holding its breath for the first moment.
The feeling he got was vaguely familiar, remembering back to when he would take walks with Phil in the city.
*Flashback*
The world was silent as he could hear the sounds of their feet on the cobble paths. Tubbo looked around at that, the birds that normally made noises, were all too quiet. He looked over at Phil who was gazing up at the sky in thought.
He sighed heavily, "I am sorry about this... as much as I didn't want to do this, my cabinet had forced the issue." he muttered looking away from Phil.
The older male hummed at that, "You do have a duty to your people, if they want something you are to try and supply them with it. Such is the life of a leader."
"But still." Tubbo said, "It feels like they refuse to listen even when I do say something. They constantly override me, and this has caused some... discourse between us." he wasn't sure why he was telling Phil about this. This was supposed to be personal, but, Tubbo didn't have many people talk to about it.
Phil gazed at him and shrugged, "Then why not make them listen. From what Tommy tells me, you've not always been this passive about things." he tells him honestly.
Turning to that, then looking away with a soft hum. "I suppose I haven't been, not sure what really changed." it was true, he wasn't always passive about things. He wasn't afraid to kill should it come down to it. Gods know he's steeped in the blood of people who wronged him, and the fires still burn around him to this day. Since being president, he has become meeker and more unsure of himself.
"I'm just saying, grab back your confidence, and if they refuse to listen, make them an example," he suggested to him with a casual look, as if he didn't just tell Tubbo to kill people who went against him.
Tubbo frowned, "Wouldn't that just make me another tyrant?" he asked curiously.
Phil merely chuckled, "Not if you're smart about it Tubbo, which I am sure you are much smarter than that idiot before you." he said with a scowl, remembering how it all lead to him having to kill Wilbur.
Silence rang again between them, still the world held its breath. Tubbo looked off into the distance with a tiny hum at the words. Be smart about it... he was sure he could do that.
*End of flashback*
As they neared the area, Tubbo watched as Techno fired off into the buildings. Setting a flame one building. Before Tommy took off with a cackle, slashing through any guards that came too close.
Coming out of his musing to see the fire around them, the blood that ran into the ground. He looked around to see Techno setting up the flames with each fire of the crossbow. In the light of the fires, Tubbo swore the other's eyes were glowing red in two voids, black holes where his eyes should be.
The two were chaotic and just going all over the place. Though they were passionate, they were also unfocused.
Such is the life of a leader.
Tubbo gripped his weapon tightly, pulling out a stick of TNT given to him. Lighting it up he tossed it into the fray of people running. The resulting explosion rang up with screams.
"Now you're getting it!" he heard as Tubbo turned and stared at what he saw. Tommy now had sharp teeth like fangs, black eyes with two red dots. "Come on, still much to destroy we are only on the south side!" he laughed running off to catch up with Techno who was already heading over there. Normal people would be horrified by this, normal people would turn and run. But, if he did that, Tubbo would be denying the fact the thrill this left him with was all he ever loved in life.
And he's been in need of a stress reliever after days trapped in L'manburge.
Running down the streets as he would lit up areas with fireworks and torches. The hot days from before with no rain making the grass easy to ignite under the tiniest of sparks. Tubbo found himself grinning as he jumped from roof to roof, sitting off explosives behind him. People inside screaming out when their house was blown up and the resulting fire from it would burn them or debris would crush them.
Slowly the awkwardness delved into pure destructive glee between the three boys. The smokes that billow into the reddening sky as the sunset casts a glow over the orange flames that rose high into the sky.
Laughing along with the other two as they left the place late into the night Techno was covered in gunpowder and blood, Tommy had it on his hands from having barehanded some others. The ends of Tubbo's outfit were burnt as Tommy had an arm around him grinning widely with his fang-like teeth. Addicting the feeling was, just letting go of all conforms in this world and going pure feral on any and all.
The way back was mostly then recounting people they ran into. Acting out their terror and laughing with tips and compliments on making it better. And they did admit Tubbo had kept them on track to make sure they got all sectors of the city.
But, this also meant this night was coming to a close. So he'd have to go back to the city he ran as if this night never happened. Tubbo tried not to let that thought get to him as they neared Techno's house as the moon was high in the sky. He paused however when he saw Phil on the porch smiling at them when they neared. "Look at you boys, did you have fun?" he asked as Tommy and Techno got onto the porch.
"Sure did!" Tommy said smiling as Phil ruffled his hair.
Techno just grunted with a shrug but did smile at the hand on his shoulder. Tubbo mostly kept silent he turned to head back home. "And just where are you going young man?" near jumping he turned to see Phil with his arms crossed. "You can't be heading back looking like that, much less this late into the night."
Tubbo mouth moved but no words came out as Tommy snickered and got up pulling him over to sit with them. Techno going inside to wash off his hands and get something for them to eat. Tommy was leaned on the left side of Phil, smiling as fingers ran through his hair. He was mostly back to 'normal' looking if you overlook the blood still on him.
Shifting a bit, Tubbo felt slightly awkward about this, yelping when an arm pulls him closer to Phil. Tubbo managed to look up to see a soft smile from him, he could faintly hear Tommy's soft breathing. Closing his own eyes as he found Phil was very warm despite how cold the night air was in the snowy plains.
"You did really good today, all three of you." Phil praised them quietly, Tubbo vaguely hearing him. "I'm pleased with your work." A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, somehow those words filled him with warmth.
Something soft wrapped around Tubbo, a ruffle of feathers. Yet, he kept his eyes closed, exhaustion finally creeping into his body.
Somehow, he knew everything would be okay. He was safe, here and now. Latching onto this thought, and onto the calming feeling Phil gave off. Tubbo slowly drifted off to sleep, dreaming of the night they had.
Radioactive Ch. 2: Pulsar
Summary: Logan has had it up to here with being carted around between several groups and has no plans on waiting to be rescued.
A/N: Title comes from Celldweller’s “Pulsar”.
Me to Me: I think I’ve damselled Logan way too much. I probably should fix that.
Logan: *throws up his hands* FINALLY!
Chapters: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Logan startled awake, as if something had pulsed through him. The logical Side didn’t know how long he’d been out but the last thing he vaguely remembered was being tied up in the truck. His hands still zip tied behind his back.
Now he was leaning back in some recliner, not cuffed and still in his superhero suit. Which he was immediately thankful for.
Carefully, Logan stood up and looked around the room and saw it had a huge glass wall that overlooked some kind of room. The room looked like some type of nightclub, and something like a fighting area for a small group to fight in.
Logan noticed there was a large group of people talking, many of them staring or talking angrily at Tubbo.
All at once, Logan realized he was deep in enemy territory and needed to extract himself immediately. Moving away from the window, Logan tried to put himself as far out of sight as possible and evaluate what odds he had to work with. His suit and helmet was still one but his communicator, and PAD was missing. He didn’t have his TASER or stun blaster either.
But first he had to get out of his bounds and out of this room, hopefully to find his equipment or something comparable.
Logan looked around the room for a stable place to sit and brace his body weight and saw a coffee table. He’d sat down and was trying to move his hands so he could snap the ties when he heard a little chuckle.
“Having fun?”
Logan startled and turned to see someone standing across the room, leaning against the door frame. The individual, Sam, was wearing a green gas mask with black lens. A long purple cloak draped down his back. The logical Side hadn’t seen him before and he paused.
“No,” Logan answered calmly. “I am very much not. I would like my equipment back and I would very much like to leave.”
The person with the gas mask chuckled as Dream walked in. Logan immediately twisted his wrists and popped the zip tie. His wrists hurt but they were free.
“Time?” Dream asked.
“1:15, AM,” Sam looked at his watch.
“Hmm,” Dream thought out loud. “Getting comfortable?”
“Why have I been brought here?” Logan asked, trying not to sound hesitant or even slightly intimidated.
Dream took a seat as Sam stayed by the door. “Well, you’ve started taking walks, and anytime I tried to send one of my allies to talk to you, you’ve brushed me off. So I figured we’d try this again.”
Logan felt frustration climb into his throat. The logical Side had never met these people, his initial thought was that he was somehow being confused for Deceit. But it was clear from his interactions with Tubbo, whom Logan was fairly certain was a part of this group, that Logan was acting differently to how they thought he should be acting.
They think I’m a thrall! Logan realized grimly, remembering how the heroes had regarded him and the other Sides for a good while. King still expected it of Logan, and as of late had become incredibly hesitant to spend any time with them.
After the realization had touched his mind, Logan became aware that he had to escape, and get back to safety. Dream seemed to have some different expectations than the heroes did, which meant he might know more about Thomas’s condition than King did. That was information that Logan needed, because if it kept Thomas from thralling the other Sides it was invaluable.
“I see no need to repeat the conversation then,” Logan told Dream, eyes scanning the room again for a weapon or an exit.
“No, no,” Dream refused, summoning two glasses and a bottle of Scotch. “I need to know how much territory you’ve marked out, your little snake arm keeps stabbing at my allies and workers. I can be amicable, I promise, we can set something up so I can give you your space. We’ll be like neighbors.”
“All of Gainesville is my territory, get out,” Logan told him.
“Well that’s not very neighborly,” Dream replied smugly. “And it’s also untrue. Dark owns the whole area around the Harold Jacobs bridge and you seem to get along with him and his little kittens just fine.
“Part of that area used to exist in the city of Egoton and holds no strategic value to me,” Logan told him, trying to channel as much of Janus as humanly possible.
“That’s an interesting way of putting it,” Dream said before a message string came from his mouth and shot out to the door before phasing through it. “You know, I’ve never actually seen one of your kind. Whenever I can get close the legs gain control again and kill their legate. It’s quite gruesome to watch.”
Logan was stalled by that, “If you’ve never seen the legate, how do you know it is a gruesome thing to see?”
Dream paused, “Excuse me?”
“Did you see the aftermath of the fight or were you there when the legate was killed?” Logan repeated. “The syntax of those sentences seem to be contradictory.”
The gang leader paused, “Of course I saw the body afterwards, or the host, anyways. Left a nasty mess, the other arms had to be put down. Huge mess.”
“Of course,” Logan repeated in absence of anything else to comment on.
“So that’s something for you to keep in mind,” Dream warned. “They get out, you’re dead.”
Logan didn’t like that. He wasn’t sure which insinuation he was less okay with, but he needed to get out. So despite his every instinct to not turn his back on Dream, Logan started heading for the door. “I don’t believe that there’s anything further we need to discuss. I’m leaving.”
Sam stepped in front of the door, making Logan have to look between Sam and Dream. The later of which was starting to stand up.
“Take a seat,” Dream said. “We’re not done talking.
Logan did walk over to the table, but he picked up a glass and smashed it against the table. It cut up his hand but there was a shard large enough to use as a weapon.
“I do not like being taken prisoner,” Logan told them.
“Damn,” Dream commented, noticing the blood coming from Logan’s hand, the suit’s glove ripped up. “Fuck that body, I guess.”
“Step aside and let me out,” Logan ordered.
Sam summoned a trident and braced himself against the door. Logan glanced at the window, wondering how thick it was.
“Sit down,” Dream told Logan.
Logan took a chair and threw it at the window as hard as he could, he had to drop his glass for a bit. As he picked it back up, Logan saw that the glass had shattered.
“Sam!” Dream called out and Logan bolted for the window, ramming his shoulder into the glass and it gave way.
Logan fell to the other side and hit the stairs hair, tumbling off the stairs and landing hard on the floor, slamming into a stereo system in the process.
Everyone in the Server stared at Logan, he had several cuts on his body and his visor had cracked. Making him immediately miss his nanite suit, it would have absorbed these simple attacks and given him additional weapons to fight with.
Sam vaulted through the window and started rushing down the stairs as Logan began to panic.
“Why don’t we head back upstairs?” Sam told Logan, his trident punted at Logan and it began to charge with energy.
Logan looked around and some type of switch in Logan’s mind flipped. He meant to hiss, but a weird glitchy wail came out instead. A piercing EMP blast came out of his throat. All the lights went out and every electrical socket and wire that wasn’t grounded arced.
Sam let out a grunt of pain that echoed by several other glitches in the room. Besides Sam, five other people, all glitches, felt the EMP flare out into the darkening room and felt various amounts of pain due to their own magical resilience and proximity to Logan. Logan felt his body moving and he grabbed the arcing cords from the stereo and in an instant Logan was gone.
Foolish was the one to reset the lights and breakers as Ponk rushed over to Sam. Bad was almost screaming over Skeppy who only seemed mildly injured.
“Sam? How bad is it?” Ponk demanded, kneeling down next to Sam.
“Arrrggggh!” Sam was clutching his chest, on a knee and bracing himself on his trident. “Fuck that, what was that?”
“He’s gone now,” Foolish warned, turning to another of their group. “Hey Slime, go find him.”
“Got it,” Slime grinned and disintegrated into green slime and shot towards the closest fountain or sink.
“Where is that muffinhead!” Bad demanded angrily. “I’ll rip his muffining head off!”
“Just find him,” Dream ordered, “before he gets out.”
If I’m gonna be honest, I’m having a hard time getting into c!Wilbur’s mental state after Bust. Well, the mental state that most apologists tend to put him in. There are layers when it comes to characters like c!Wilbur, as to most of the characters in the server. And since it’s in its typical fashion, a lot of the characters can be interpreted in different ways.
TW suicide, suicide mention, suicide ideation (please don’t ignore the warnings it also gets very personal too)
It doesn’t help that I typically discuss the dsmp with my sibling who mains Fundy. But even then, her views on c!Wilbur is not negative. They infact dislike interpreting c!Wilbur being typically abusive (typically meaning heavily physical or emotionally abusive), but rather that he had inadequacies with raising c!Fundy.
Added to that, I’ve been in a better mental space in comparison from the last few months. I’ll admit, I did used to project some of my suicidal thoughts and tendencies on the character. But I think that’s the point of it. I’m just in a different head space now.
Maybe I need to rewatch the vod. Maybe I’ve just been overlooking a lot of things.
But given that it was supposed to be after Ho16, where c!Ranboo lost a life and such, it feels wrong to make it ALL about c!Wilbur.
Mental health is complicated. I don’t purely think that c!Philza’s advice was the worse, considering what he heard his son just did. c!Philza’s not the best father. Similarly to c!Wilbur, he’s not perfect. He is inadequate.
And it’s true, he has a list of people he needed to apologize to and some of them have every right to not forgive him.
But back to me getting into c!Wilbur’s head. It’s like whenever I end up hurting someone (even on accident) and it was related to my actions while I was very ill. Maybe he should’ve first apologize to Ranboo then Tubbo because they were the ones heavily affected by his actions in Ho16 (but then that might mess with how they want people to interpret the timeline so no Ranboo).
The point is that I’m hopefully trying to make in this unnecessarily long ramble, (that majority of the fandom kinda keeps ignoring and forgetting) is that
your illness cannot justify people getting hurt.
Yes, he was mentally ill since then. He was suicidal. He blew up L’manburg and told his dad to kill him and he was happy about it. Yet we all know that that heavily affected everybody and even before he died he was already hurting people.
And months ago I tend to read into how he affected a lot of people through fics and to some degree it made my mental state either better or worse at times. And maybe I just kept making excuses from moving my deadline, but I was reminded how me committing suicide would affect the ones around me.
Idk where I’m going with this now. But with how I kept projecting on c!Wilbur I just can’t keep reading into him constantly being suicidal. Like he said, he thought that he was a better man after everything and I do want him to get better. But like my therapist said, I needed to do something about those thoughts that became too normalized in my head that they’re not intrusive anymore.
So yeah, I can’t be, in a fandom sense, a sympathizer or apologist when it comes to Bust. I could still project unto c!Wilbur if I want. I could still read fics/content tagged with being an apologist/sympathizer but not if it’s content related to Bust. It’s just very uncomfortable.
Someone got hurt in Ho16 and we shouldn’t focus most of the pity on c!Wilbur.
#bread.txt#I sometimes can't w this fandom when it comes to mental illness#also writing wise it's understandable with how Wilbur wants to wrap things up#maybe if things were planned out better before hand maybe things could've wrapped up differently#but yeah#I think that's enough#I've been rambling for too long#tw suicide#tw suicide mention
