MATA is shady

I like the agency and all, but boy, aren't they scary

First off, the first thing General Rama decided to do after Ali got his hand on IRIS was to execute him before Bakar (and Jenny) intervened. And even then Ali was considered the agency's, and I quote, "property". That's illegal.

Secondly, while it's not explicitly said, MATA is a child soldiers factory. They're training children to fight their war whether inside Cyberaya or outside.

And third and lastly, by using Protokol Gegas as an excuse, they can abandon those child soldiers who've been nothing but loyal to them just because a mission doesn't go their way. While this is a noble moral code, again I repeat that literal children are expected to carry this code as we've seen during S1E7. Right on the next episode, even General Rama admitted that he was grateful Ali wasn't a good agent and had disobeyed a direct order because he wanted to save Alicia.

Bear in mind that MATA is Cyberaya's military first and foremost, founded and funded by none other than Dato' Othman to protect Cyberaya from threats. They're not created as a justice system like the police is. They're just there for Cyberaya's interest and could care less about people's plight such as the Pinggiran.

His self-discovery aside, if he hadn't ordered tempoyak udang that day, he'd never have formed a bond with those close around him.

Take Bakar, for example. The only reason Ali and Bakar became so close was because of IRIS. If the whole tempoyak udang shenanigan didn't happen, Ali would still be the sad boy he was in episode 1.

Without IRIS, Alicia had no reason to be close to Ali either.

The only one that IRIS-less Ali reasonably might keep around is Comot due to his attachment to Labu.

Still, it's sad to think about. Just one thing that doesn't happen and suddenly everything changes. Butterfly effect is scary :|

it's okay to be fat and like to eat. it's okay to be fat and enjoy cooking, baking, grilling, canning, drying or preparing foods. it's okay to be fat and work a restaurant or bakery and enjoy what you do. it's okay to be fat and not ashamed of eating in public. it's okay to be fat, but it's especially okay to be fat and have a positive relationship with food. people are supposed to enjoy eating, it's where we get our energy from, it's a very positive and nourishing experience for our bodies, it's okay if it's positive and nourishing to your mental health, too. fat people are allowed to eat, and we're allowed to enjoy doing it, too.

Kinda funny how cursive writing was originally just a kind of sloppy scrawled penmanship that people used when writing fast, but then the Language Police (presumably after failing to stamp it out) tried to bring it under control by inventing another set of rules for Correct Cursive Writing and teaching it in school, but in the process they came up with something that's actually more difficult and annoying to use than standard writing, thus defeating the entire point.

i think everyone even cis people should have a deadname. like. picking out your own name and choosing your own identity should be such an integral part of being human. casting away all the falsehoods of childhood and keeping only the love and the wisdom you’ve gained and using that to construct a new self, a new personhood… idk i think cultures that call kids a placeholder name and let them pick their own once they reach maturity were doing something right
