You give a very interesting question, haha.

It's separated into categories based on how Goro feels about them but here they are:

(Due to narrative reasons, Goro abandoned the Akechi surname by the time Twisted Wonderland took place so the rest of these followed suit)

(Put under the cut due to length)

Wary and interact in arms length:

Jade: Goro sussed out Jade being just as slimy as Azul early on. Does not buy into his "I'm nicer than Azul" act.

Jamil: Goro finds Jamil a tad too alike to himself, especially post OB Jamil. There are differences, but Goro realizes that they are too alike to get along at the moment and leaves casual interaction with him to Yuu (Rei) outside of professional grounds.

Wary of, but can interact well with them most of the time:

Idia: He reminds Goro of Futaba a little too much for him to be fully comfortable with. He can still talk with Idia when prompted though.

Sebek: A little too enthusiastic and reminds Goro of Ryuji sometimes. But can still interact with him. Also, Sebek calling anyone not Silver, teachers, or a respected senior "human" kinda rubbed Goro off the wrong way.

Floyd: Volatile to Goro due to his unpredictability, but at least Goro knows how Floyd thinks, so Goro gets along better with Floyd than he would with Jade.

Rook: Goro's a bit uncomfortable with Rook's stalking but other wise can communicate with him and admits that Rook got a good eye for detail.

Azul: Everything about Chapter 3 is one part of why Goro is wary of Azul and half Goro gets reminded of his stint as Shido's hitman when he held the lives of Goro's adoptive family hostage. He is still willing to talk to Azul in professional grounds though.

Leona: Funny story is that Yuu (Rei) did mention to Leona himself in person that Leona reminded her of her own adoptive brother, but the problem is that they're both bristly at each other but for different reasons. Goro worked his ass off for his own talents but Leona, who had all the talent and potential, wallowed himself in his own depression so it's going to take a while for Goro and Leona to get along well, but they don't dislike each other and understood the other regardless.

50/50:

Trey: Goro doesn't buy into Trey's niceness and thinks there's something he's hiding, but otherwise doesn't dislike him.

Silver: Goro does not sense a single malice from him but is still mostly unsure about Silver due to not interacting with him as much.

Cater: Goro's unsure on what to make of him yet since Cater doesn't let down his mask.

Ortho: Goro can't fully answer ALL the inquisitive questions that Ortho might have, but otherwise doesn't dislike him and prefers his company over Idia. Post Chapter 6, Ortho gets upgraded to "gets along well".

Malleus: Goro lets him talk and hang with him and Yuu (Rei), but still a tad wary due to Malleus's overall position in Twisted Wonderland at large and temper. He doesn't dislike Malleus though, so he's in this zone.

Somewhat gets along well:

Ace: By proxy of his adoptive sister. A bit of a little shit but does care for him. Ace might get miffed at Goro for easily snitching and figuring him out though (Goro's a former detective, he'd know.)

Deuce: Again, like Ace, Goro knows Deuce by proxy of his adoptive sister. Deuce can be hard-headed but Akechi knows he's the most earnest and honest among the 1-A Heartslabyul friends Yuu (Rei) got.

Ruggie: Reminds Goro a bit of con men due to the way he carries himself as a first impression. He does get to know the hyena beastfolk better, but is still wary about him for a good while. Ruggie only later gets an upgrade after Goro see's that he genuinely wants to make his adoptive sister happy.

Kalim: He's nice, but a bit too nice for Goro to fully warm up to due to his cynicism. He still interacts with Kalim well.

Lilia: Goro's wary of Lilia at first but warms up to him after seeing him being genuine in helping out his adoptive sister.

Get along well:

Jack: Goro's okay with him but also find him a tad naive. Though half the reason Goro pretty much approved him because he's too honest and wouldn't have any other ulterior motives, and half that he's Yuu (Rei)'s Justice arcana confidant, so, Justice arcana solidarity.

Vil: He's been there in Vil's shoes as a "Detective Prince", he would get along and empathize with some of Vil's frustrations.

Epel: Goro notices that Epel is restrained, some what, and helps enable him when he needs it when Vil is not around. Epel pretty much admires Goro and is grateful for him to let him be himself most of the time.

Riddle: Riddle is gonna have a tough time at first with Goro's barbed tongue, but would later get along better with him, especially with Riddle's interest in law and learning that Goro used to be a detective and familiar with law for a brief time.

A Brief Rundown of the IRL Ithaca Saga (to the best of my memory, in probably not chronological order)

jorge (creator, odysseus) decided it'll be cool to celebrate the ithaca saga with the epic cast via a trip to ithaca, greece

surely nothing can go wrong

mico (telemachus) seemingly found out about the trip with the rest of the fandom. he proceeded to plot a trip to ithaca

the epic cast dealt with multiple broken vans and missed a ferry by one minute. they had to cancel a stream because they were too exhausted

mico made it onto a plane

ithaca got hit by a typhoon, forcing them to move another stream indoors

mico got banned from tiktok. it was reversed

mason (tireseas) asked luke (zeus) to stop the rain. luke refused

the crew hiked up to odysseus' palace. they ran into a roadblock. mason looked into the future and did not see a way around it. (they found a way around it)

the crew found a well and sang their epic songs into it. except jp (crew) who just sang happy birthday

janani (aphrodite) also sang "royal we" into the well

anna (penelope) made it onto the plane to fly out to ithaca

hermes (troy) decided to take a plane to ithaca like a normal human instead of teleporting. he got side-eyed by a woman at the airport as he slept sprawled out in a chair. this quickly became a meme

hermes arrived in ithaca to the delight of everyone except jorge. mico also appeared in his videos. mico still had not updated anything after getting on the plane

anna's connecting flight got cancelled, leaving her stranded in a fancy hotel. she struggled to find the toilet in her hotel room

mico finally updated, claiming he was stuck in munich. mason appears in the video and gives him a water bottle, proving he is lying

the fandom believes mico anyway

mico is forced to post another video revealing he had been gaslighting us basically the entire time and was just delayed in getting to ithaca, that was all

troy and talya (circe), in character, talk about tea. troy says the tea tastes like her father's approval. earle (ares) then asks for 1000 cups and breaks down crying as luke cuts the camera

jorge posts a video apologizing for mico's absence, encouraging him to fly to ithaca, new york. mico appears in the background of this video

mico posts a video saying that he's finally in ithaca, but the crew is in ithaca, new york. jorge appears in the background of this video

jp films a behind the scenes video, calling out "some random guy" who just showed up asking if anyone knows jorge. it's mico

janani sings "royal we" again, but after she says "troy was breached" troy comes out screaming in pain. mico appears in the background of this, filming the video from two points above

it's time for the ithaca saga livestream... except it gets cancelled because the connection is bad and jorge's devices are dying

TL;DR: the gods saw the epic crew in ithaca and went "do you guys think it'll be really funny if we just. recreated the odyssey"

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

how does yuu feel about magic in general

Thanks for the ask!

For that, Yuu (Rei) grew up her whole life surrounded by the supernatural and felt that she belonged there than she belonged with the regular humans.

When she was brought to Twisted Wonderland, she is neutral about it.

She used to love the supernatural but as she grew up, she starts to understand the pro's and cons of supernatural abilities and powers beyond comprehension like magic.

She can see why magic could be convenient, but by the time she's brought to Twisted Wonderland, she understood the weight and responsibility of what wielding such power brings.

Yuu (Rei) taking Lilia's offer to teach her how to borrow magic from the world is initially done out of practicality on her part, but she does enjoy a bit of the ease it brings.

But she never forgets that with great power, comes great responsibility.
