i adore how mxtx sorta flipped the idea on the whole top/bottom thing with svsss, and just BL relationships in general.

There's something that really irritates me about the Marauders fandom, I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion or not, but I don't care.

It really bothers me the way y'all talk about fanfic. Sometimes I think some people here forget that fanfics aren't written by professional authors, it's something that someone is writing for fun and that you can read for free. you shouldn't be criticizing them as if they were published books written by professional authors.

You have every right in the world to be reading something and not like it, but do you know what is the right thing to do? Just close the tab and go look for something that you like more. Don't make videos on tik tok talking bad about the story. I'm really impressed by the number of videos talking bad about fanfics, trashing them. Have some shame… I always think that when I go into the comments of this type of video I will find people criticizing this type of stance in the comments, but I never do. The comments are always full of people criticizing other fanfics not mentioned in the video.

just imagine writing a fanfic and posting it for free for others to read, something you wrote just for entertainment, and then opening tik tok and having thousands of people talking bad about you and your writing. and I'm specifically talking about Tik Tok because that's where I see it happening the most and where these videos have the more reach, but I know it also happens on others social media. I don't know if it happens here, but for example on Twitter I know it does.

I see a lot of people saying ''Ah, finally a fanfic that treats the 70s in a realistic way'', it's okay if you PREFER the fanfic to be realistic, that's personal taste. But it's not okay to treat fanfics that aren't realistic with disdain. One is not better than the other, being more realistic does not give more merit. Because it's just the author's choice, how they wants the story to be.

I myself prefer fanfics that aren't realistic, because as a lesbian I'm already fed up with homophobia in real life, and this is dealt with in almost every story with LGBTQIA+ people in books, films, etc… at least in fanfic I can pretend it doesn't exist.

"So, what do you think?" Y/N asked her boyfriend curiously, she was lying on his chest, the two of them in bed spending the weekend doing what they so deserved, resting.

After all, both would have long weeks ahead of them and they would hardly have the chance to see each other or be together.

She was holding her cell phone, after showing him one of the intro tracks from her upcoming album.

"I loved it, it has a very cinematic fantasy vibe." he replied, with a proud smile as he stroked her hair.

"I told you the concept of this comeback is going to be like this, right?" the boyfriend nodded in agreement. "And we're going to have a collaboration with that American producer."

"You seem quite excited." he concluded, he didn't look at her face because his position wouldn't allow it, as she huddled in his embrace like a koala, but he could imagine the glint in her eyes. “I’m!” she said, raising her head to look at him better, as he predicted there was the sparkle in her eyes of pure pride and happiness. "It will be the first time I get to show my more mature side to fans."

Chanyeol laughed and the hand that was stroking her hair went to his girlfriend's arm. "Should I be jealous?" he raised an eyebrow and she laughed softly.

Y/N held the phone with one hand and the other brought it to Chanyeol's cheek, stroking his skin slowly.

"No, you're the only one who knows all of my sides."

He lifted his chin, a rather proud look knowing he was the only one and Y/N smiled before she leaned closer to kiss him, she had been doing this all day but it wasn't enough, when the lips were a centimeter away from touching, Chaneyol even had his eyes closed Y/N's phone vibrated not just once or twice but five times. She complained and threw her head on her boyfriend's chest who still had his pout to kiss her. Y/N took her head off Chanyeol's chest and brought her phone closer, seeing what was going on through the notification bar.

"Is my leader." she said "Why does it seem like she always does it on purpose?"

Chanyeol laughed heartily and his girlfriend wanted to bite his cheek but she held back and unlocked the phone. "You shouldn't talk about your leader like that." Chanyeol joked.

"I'm older than she is, have you forgotten?" Y/N glanced at her boyfriend, Chanyeol now resting his arm behind his head, his biceps got bigger in the black t-shirt he was wearing.

She opened the twitter link that was sent in the message, along with the phrase 'you have to see this. ASAP'.

Y/N felt her jaw drop when she saw the tweet and tensed up all of a sudden, this didn't go unnoticed by her boyfriend who now wiped the smile off his face and frowned.

"What?" he asked, analyzing his girlfriend's expression.

"Look at this." she turned the phone screen towards Chanyeol who focused his attention on the tweet, he gulped when he saw the picture of him and his girlfriend.

There was nothing much but from what they wrote, the suspicions were there.

Chanyeol and Y/N had gone to NCT 127's concert the night before, to support the boys from the same company and because she was a huge fan of the boys, they hadn't gone alone of course. Two members of Y/N's group were on her right side while Chanyeol, Sehun and Baekhyun were on her right side, exactly in that order.

In one photo they were just looking at the stage while in the other Chanyeol had his arm around Y/N's neck and the other was up. They were just enjoying the show, nothing else.

But fan comments came to the same conclusion: they were dating.

"Oh come on, it's not even that compromising!" he said and Y/N turned the phone's screen towards her, while bringing her other hand to her mouth to bite the nail. "We were just singing Dreams Come True."

"But it's not what the fans think, there's even a video of you hugging me." Y/N said, watching on her phone.

It really wasn't compromising, mainly because afterwards, Chanyeol hugged Sehun in the same way.

"Oh give me that." he took his arm behind his head to grab his girlfriend's phone.

"Hey!" she complained but he started swiping the screen. "Look, there are a lot of people thinking I was just being me." he glanced at Y/N who eyed him suspiciously. "I'll read it to you: 'lol he literally leans on Sehun afterwards, so they're dating', ew no!" Chanyeol stuck his tongue out in disgust and Y/N chuckled lightly.

"Good thing they were at an NCT show because if it was a comedy Y/N would probably be without an arm"

"Yeah, you do that with people when you laugh."

"But hey, there are a lot of people who shipp us."

"Really?" Y/N asked curiously and tried to snoop through the phone.

"They even made a thread about the two of us." he replied calmly and Y/N widened her eyes.

"What? You're kidding!" she said and slipped between her boyfriend's arm to see the phone too, he hugged her while opening the tweet.

The compilation had photos, videos, gifs of interactions between the two in events of all kinds. 

Y/N was never subtle in hiding what she felt for Chanyeol, it was no wonder he discovered the not-so-secret crush she had for him.

So the pictures of them looking at each other meant more than it should, she always smiled broadly when she saw him, it wasn't common to do that with anyone. 

And a photo in particular that she never actually explained, taken by a fan with low resolution, Y/N holding her phone and her backpack at the airport, accidentally her phone had been unlocked by fingerprint and it was possible to see that her boyfriend was the wallpaper, although couldn't quite see his face the fans had found similarities.

Chanyeol was always looking for her at SM concerts, whether to bow when greeting her - even though he had seen her backstage before - or to hold her hand at the end.

At award shows, they always seemed to talk with their eyes when they were at nearby tables. And they always danced and sang louder when one was performing.

She repeatedly praised the group's songs on her social media just as he did, and although it was vague, fans took it as a sign.

The interviews where she described her ideal type, someone like him.

The similar clothing and accessories. Which in their case wasn't similar, the hoodies Y/N took were actually Chanyeol's but no one could prove it. Anyone on the internet could buy the same model and size.

"Nothing that hasn't happened to other idols." Y/N spoke after a while.

If they didn't deny it and didn't confirm it, it would just be internet theory. Right?

"Ah, but this is interesting." Chanyeol stopped at one of the tweets with a wide smile.

"Oh no."

"Oh yes!" he chuckled before reading it aloud. "Y/N bubble update: 'I'm watching Descendants of the Sun again. Oh what? How many times have I watched it? Probably like 5 lol I really like this genre. And Dr. Kang is right, girls really fantasizes about the army uniform.' You said that the day I sent you my uniform picture." Chanyeol accused and she felt her cheeks burn.

That comment had been days before official photos of Chanyeol serving it were released on the internet, another clue for fans.

"I told you that on that video call." she tapped him lightly on the chest and he laughed.

Chanyeol dropped her phone on the bed and rolled over her, resting his elbows on either side of her body and glaring at her mischievously as she brought her hands to his shoulder.

"Actually you said something a lot worse, do you want me to repeat it?" he asked, raising an eyebrow and she laughed shyly.

"It's not necessary!" he nodded and leaned down to kiss her forehead, making her sigh at the contact.

Chanyeol then kissed Y/N's nose, cheek and chin, she just laughed lightly as she caressed his shoulder.

With her eyes already closed from the previous caresses, Y/N felt her boyfriend gently place his lips on hers, it was enough to melt her completely, no matter how many times they kissed even after so much time together, she felt the same things from the beginning, as if she were that dreamy little girl.

One of Chanyeol's hands went to her face, the big warm palm caressing her skin as they kept the same slow rhythm. Y/N took the opportunity to bring a hand to the back of his neck and caress the short strands of hair.

She felt him smile between the kiss and pulled away, causing her to complain.

"Hey, baby." he spoke softly and she opened her eyes, staring at him. "Don't worry, we'll be able to hide our relationship long enough."

Chanyeol was live in his study on Instagram just over 15 minutes ago. He talked to the fans, answered questions, sang, showed some demos of songs he was working on.

All because he was bored that afternoon, his girlfriend was too busy with her own schedule and would probably be late, it was enough time to interact with the fans for a while.

A week had passed since the leaked photos of the concert they went to together and some fans were still asking about Y/N in the chat, he smiled sideways but pretended not to see.

They had agreed to hold back the relationship news for a longer time, for the sake of Y/N's group promotions, anyway the company had already released both of them to announce it whenever they wanted but Chanyeol wanted it to be special, they had been together for a long time it was true, but he wanted to take a new step with her.

He was so busy with his guitar, playing as he always did in his spare time, that he didn't hear the studio door open.

Y/N walked on tiptoe so as not to make any noise, smiling mischievously without noticing that the camera was on.

"Hi, love. I'm home." she hummed and the boyfriend turned around completely shocked, his eyes looked like they were going to pop out.

She didn't understand why he stood there with the guitar in his lap, usually he always dropped everything and ran to hug her and kiss her all over her face.

However all he did was point his head back to where the camera was and Y/N followed with her eyes, feeling her heart race when she saw her boyfriend's screen.

"Is it live?" she asked quietly and shyly as she saw the chat going crazy.

"Yes." he replied, laughing nervously.

"Huh… I'll leave then, I'll let you do what you're doing." She stuttered and a nervous laugh came out. Chanyeol chuckled, scratching his head and looked at the screen. He could even keep track of the comments because they came in so quickly. "I'm so sorry! Oh my God."

"It's okay, babe." he chuckled again and looked back to see Y/N shake her head in disbelief and she clumsily closed the door.

He took a deep breath before looking back at the camera, his eyes lowered to the comments and he chuckled at the comments. Most were freaking out over Y/N's surprise appearance, but the other half were all the same 'Are they dating??'.

"Yeah guys, I guess now you know." he shrugged, and propped his elbow on the table and put his face in his hand, moving closer to the screen to read better, and to hide his huge smile.

Chanyeol laughed when he read a comment and had to agree.

They suck at hiding lol that's what makes them perfect for each other.

I saw this on Twitter and it just made think cause of how everyone is perceiving ray and sands situation and I'm having a hard time to find the right words, and I love hearing other ppls takes cause it helps opening up this conversation about addiction and mental health.

Cause some I've seen were really upset or annoyed that he followed after him, and I initially wasn't upset cause it's like sand what said! on a human to human level, right from wrong just basic human decency he wasn't gonna let him do damage. And from what we've seen sand has this caretaker aura already indebted in him like his mom made that clear. But like yes ray just said some messed things that he definitely needs to apologize for but at the same time, I know for me I couldn't allow my friend to get in the car in that state it would bother me honestly. And like OP said when someone's in that state of mind they will say things that are highly insensitive and insulting. But I can't not still stop him from worse and I dont think sand doing that is out of character it's him he helps ppl. He even helped ray in the beginning so it wasn't surprising to me. But I saw some ppl saying he shouldn't have and I just wanted to hear some reasonings on it and this tweet made sense to me and maybe someone here too.

And these as well I want to include. Cause ray gives off to me that he has tried before which I believe mew said but he didn't obviously stick on that path. Cause he doesnt have someone to push him and yes it's not his friends responsibility and they aren't fully equipped to do so. But it's not gonna easy for him to keep trying or even attempt to if he doesn't have at least one person who will be there with him. It's easy to tell someone get help but if you know the person as well as u do u know that's not gonna be that easy. So in the end of this lol I'm just open to hearing all sides of this.

You're so welcome, Anon #1! I so glad so many people enjoyed my posts about it! I'm very grateful that I've been able to go to these events for several years now. I know that so many of you don't get that opportunity, so I try to do what I can to bring it to you all even if only virtually. Things are always so much more fun when they're shared, anyway. After all, that's what fandom should be about! 💜

Anon #2, yes of course I'll write up a summary of my thoughts. I know you said you don't mind them, but I will try my very best to not include any spoilers in it as I know it really does ruin it for some. But just in case:

Outlander 7x01, "A Life Well Lost"

As Caitriona + Sam have mentioned previously in interviews, 7x01 picks up right where 6x08 left off. No time jump or anything, which I was really glad for. The opening scene was SHOCKING and used something that I thought was really clever and really rude all at the same time lol. I can tell you that the audience gasped because of it. I feel this bit was extremely effectively done. Caitriona's micro-expressions really made it for me.

One thing that surprised me — and perhaps it shouldn't simply because Outlander has always been full of this — was that there were so many small moments of humor in this episode, despite the obvious dire situation Claire and Jamie are in (but really, when aren't they lol). There's a new small side character that both Claire and Jamie get to interact with that provides much needed comedic breaks. Even Jamie's menacing looks add to this. Claire especially, I feel, gets to use her biting wit (or just straight up cursing) to add some humor to the tenseness. There's one particularly funny scene that takes place on a boat and involves an interrupting officer that I so loved! The entire audience burst out laughing when we saw it.

While Caitriona + Sam were obviously amazing, I'll say the surprising standout actor in this episode wasn't them. I won't say who, but it's someone we're well acquainted with. There are moments straight out of the book that this actor just fully nails. We're so lucky to have such strong actors filling these side character roles and s/he is just fantastic. Their sincerity and conviction sold me completely.

As book readers can probably guess from the title and from where we are in the timeline, we know basically what will happen in this episode — and they to stick pretty well to it. Even so, it is still so satisfying to get to see it played out on screen. Claire's despair, hope, and heartbreak. Jamie's torment, anger, and determination. The relief of it all. It's all played so, so well across Caitriona + Sam's faces and in their line delivery. Sam said during the Tribeca panel that Jamie is perhaps "more frail" in this episode, and I think that can be said for both of them. Despite them being well versed in separation, I think every subsequent one after their 20 year split wears on them more and more. And they both play that so expertly, making the time that we do see them together just that much sweeter. I don't think it's too spoilery to say that yes, they do share several scenes together this episode so dinna fash!

As for Brianna and R*ger, their scenes are pretty well separate from the Jamie x Claire scenes. I don't really have much to say about them, except that they move certain other storylines that will become more important later on in the season forward. And only just so. While it was important to do so, honestly it felt a bit filler-like. That said, I am actually pretty excited for certain arcs for Brianna and Jemmy later on (while also hoping they don't include that storyline for R*ger... sorry, not sorry) and this brought them maybe half a step closer to it.

Other than the moment on the boat I had mentioned earlier, there are two scenes toward the end which I really loved. One was such a sweet moment straight out of the book with some really great book lines that I had very much wanted to hear. it is Classic™ Jamie x Claire, so you know Caitriona + Sam knocked it out of the park. The second is not a book scene (I believe?? I don't remember it anyway), but was a great one for Sam / Jamie. It's how the episode ends and I told a new friend I had met in the Tribeca line that the final moment of the episode reminded me of Batman's cape swooshing over the camera turning everything black. Lol take from that what you will!

Some other random thoughts:

Jamie x Claire are SO. SOFT. They say separation makes the heart grow fonder? Really, it makes those two grandparents softer AND I LOVE IT.

I LOVED seeing Caitriona + Sam's names appear as Executive Producers! The entire audience was singing along to The Skye Boat song and then burst out cheering when that came up.

I really hope Major MacDonald's wig gets snatched by Adso at some point because F him lol

Overall, I'd say I enjoyed the episode. Some might say it's a bit slow, which I wouldn't disagree with. But knowing that 1) they had to get this part over with the tie up the Season 6 cliffhanger; and 2) this is really going to be a jam packed season of action and emotion, I think I'm okay with that. I've heard it from more than one source that 7x02 is even better than 7x01 so I'm really excited! I'm also really excited to meet our newer cast members, as none of them featured in the premiere episode. The Hunters especially will be so much fun to watch!

Hearing Caitriona + Sam speak about not only this season, but their journey with Outlander overall makes me so grateful that the quality is still there after seven seasons. They're clearly still so passionate about these characters and are determined to do them justice in every way to the very end. And I think that most definitely shows up in their scenes. I'm super curious to see if there's anything noticeably different or better now that they've been promoted to Executive Producers. And of course, to see Caitriona's first foray into directing!! Until then, I'm looking forward to you all seeing the first episode for yourselves 💜

I'm assuming this ask is referring to this post, otherwise idk what it'd be about That post was made in response to me first noticing trans men talking about "transmisandry". An element of whats being called transmisandry is the exact experience I described in that post, and I was giving my opinion on that change in gender perception and how battling against that is pretty futile. As I said in the post, this wariness toward masculinity and cis men - I'm just going to call this 'Man Wariness' for short - is also something the vast majority of trans women have internalised. (I only say "vast majority" because I guess there could be The Exception? but really I just think All women have that wariness lmao.)

I became aware of this discussion because trans women that I follow on twitter have been pushing back on the misogyny and transmisogyny that's been expressed by the people championing the existence of transmisandry the hardest. I've been witnessing a lot of conversations trans women are having about the trans/misogyny they've experienced specifically from trans men. They (accurately imo) identify this as a threat to the integrity of feminism, particularly within transgender thought/politics, because misandry is not a real oppressive framework that exists. Pro-transmisandrists have been arguing that misandry is real and harms trans women as well, because The Man Wariness - non-men having learned to be guarded and fearful of masculinity & (what their brain associates subconsciously with) cis men - can also be directed at trans women, and results in transphobia toward those women.

The trans women disagreeing resent the framing of this as a 'misandry' issue because, of course, trans women are women. The people that hate trans women, even the ones that call them men to abuse them, don't actually see them as Men. In the eye of the transphobe, terf or GC, trans women are something else entirely, an inherently deviant third thing. Pushing back against "misandry", a supposed systemic oppressive hatred of manhood and men, does absolutely nothing to protect women from oppression. Trans women are oppressed, attacked, assaulted and abused mostly viciously and routinely by cis men. Labelling a description and discussion of Man Wariness as "TERF talking points" is just... deeply, deeply unhelpful imo. Man Wariness is just real. Thats just how a LOT of people operate in the world, trans women included. Obviously this learned wariness ends up impacting how many trans women are viewed and treated, and I understand being skeptical of me defending Man Wariness because of that. I was talking about it in the context of trans men/mascs' experiences specifically. Honestly... I don't really have helpful, thorough thoughts on how Man Wariness impacts trans women/fems and how that should be tackled. Its a bit of a wicked problem, I'm not trans fem and I haven't seen much discussion about this specifically. I assume because its a touchy subject thats kind of avoided. On the one hand, I believe deeply that trans women shouldn't need to perform/achieve a certain level of femininity in order to be safe, happy and acknowledged by society as women. On the other hand, Man Wariness is an uncontrollable response that is very deeply internalised, often directly connected to traumatic experiences, and I don't think its something that can be explored and addressed unless we can talk about it openly and frankly. Your response to this is very counter-productive imo. It just shuts down any possibility of a nuanced, open discussion. Maybe it'd be helpful if I was a terf, but I'm not lol. Which is obvious if you've known me or followed my work for any significant amount of time. Its the kind of response that shames someone for having Man Wariness, and feeling shame about an uncontrollable emotional response is toxic. Thats going to make that person feel they're irredeemably transphobic in some deeply embedded way that makes them reluctant to interact with trans women. And if theres anything that I think would break down someone's Man Wariness reaction to trans women, it would be having more familiarity with trans women because they'd pretty quickly internalise that trans women are not a threat and are women. OR of course that shame makes them feel rejected and alienated from trans friendly sphears, and they then turn toward TERF & GC sphears where they can be reassured their Man Wariness is fine, and are then vulnerable to being radicalised. But you know in my opinion no matter where that discussion went, no matter how immovable Man Wariness could be proven to be, that will NEVER invalidate that trans people have a right to safety, health, happiness and acceptance within society as the gender we know we are. That's actually just fact. These discussions are simply figuring out How that should come to be, and what our vision of a better, trans accepting society might look like.

Hi! I'm the not a shipper Anon. You bring up alot of really good points and open my eyes to some new stuff. Im not in the shipping community at all. So all the stuff I was commenting on was surface level shipping or posts getting mistagged.

When it comes to fictional vs reality, I was trying to say that when an idol like Chan being our parasocial delulu boyfriend on bubble, and flirting with us: we know he's not actually flirting with us as a person but rather as a collective. The only who don't realize this are usually saesangs or solo stans. Like I love to read x reader fanfic knowing those scenarios I read about will never happen to me. When it comes to shipping idols it's decidedly more real because there is a much higher chance of it being or becoming real. It has nothing to do with the idols genders at all. I feel like shipping Chan with Lily is just as uncomfortable as shipping Chan with Felix because all three of them have stated that they see eachother like siblings. There is absolutely no difference in x M!Readers and x F!Readers, other than the demand. They are both perfectly okay as long as the people reading and writing them understand they will always be fiction. Fanfic Readers and Writters get a bad rep because some people who aren't in our community believe we the Readers and writers are the same people who get upset when an idol begins to date someone. I can't think of any person I follow on tumblr who would be genuinely upset if someone like Chan got a partner. Like yeah we make jokes about them being "ours" but I've never interacted with someone who didn't understand that it was a joke.

I don't have Twitter at all, I've heard only bad things about fandom spaces on Twitter (not just kpop). Because im not in shipping spaces when I do see people making harmful posts I don't look into the identity of that person. So I'm sure that queer shipping spaces are much different from what I've seen. When I talk about how shipping can be problematic I'm not just reffering to Queer ships, rather all shipping. It's just that there aren't enough Coed groups for me to give a good example of. I'm a Kard Stan and everyone acknowledges that the boys and girls have a siblings dynamic. The only real ships are Bm and J.seph, and Somin x Jiwoo. Mathew has actively encouraged fans to ship him ans J.Seph (BM's just like that lol). I can't really think of any straight ships (mostly because I listen to a small amount of groups) because idols are careful about interacting between different sexes, due to toxic fans. The enyphen backup dancers in bite me "scandal" was just ridiculous. I don't know much about enyphen but if I was in their fandom I would have died laughing when I found out.

When it comes to idols that have blatant chemistry like MinSung or WooSan. I completed acknowledge the fact that they have deep feelings for eachother, but my problem comes from people trying to force certain labels on them( you definitely dont do it!). They might be romantic, they might be platonic: its okay imagine scenarios for either one! I get just as frustrated when I see people commenting "I love their FRIENDship" under Minsung posts. For me it's a two way street, we shouldn't define their relationship as romantic OR platonic. As fans we have no business defining anyone's relationship. Once again I'm not saying you or any of your readers do this! I'm just sharing my own frustrations with what I've seen people in the past do!

I think my critiques of shipping didn't come off clearly at all in my first post. I was kind of making two different points? I honestly don't know. I was trying to say any ship can be problematic if presented in a certain light and then using queer ships to show some harmful effects of shipping. I was not at all trying to say Queer ships were harmful! I genuinely can't name any straight kpop ships, lol. I'm some sort of queer myself, don't really have a label; bi, ace, pan, demi, aro... it's to stressful trying to label my own identity i couldn' try to analyze someone elses. Queer Kpop spaces aren't weird or bas infact I've hardly seen any toxic queer kpop stans. Honestly My tangents are more on the kpop fandom as a whole. I've seen SO many videos of people babying idols and then someone in the comments is like "I'm ND and I do that!" And then people are like "That idol isn't ND stop saying that!" But I've also seen just as many videos of people claiming that insert idol has random condition and then analyzing their behavior to prove their point. I guess my point is kpop fans are to quick to lash out at people who don't agree with their view point and too quick to set something into stone. My original post was not supposed to be commenting on Queer shippers but rather Queer ships.

I want to acknowledge that you state you meant shipping in general, but I do have to say - you brought up a laundry list of very specific queer arguments. that the shippers are queer, only mentioning queer idols in every sentence, that it damages queer activism, the differences in queer culture. If we take all of that away, we're actually left with precious few arguments, ones you've expanded on here. I just wanted you to know that that is very visible, but okay, I'll humour you.

Changing the lyrics to Alcohol Free on Lee Mujin. Mentions of love as a sin. Running through a rainbow after a second about a sapphic anime. Calling the song hold my hand and literally turning around to hold Minho's hand.

Yes, yes, of course, all of these things could be a coincidence. By themselves. But you have these two people, LITERALLY telling us, in actions, that have nothing to do with western gay stereotypes, in every word except "I love you" (oh wait, they said that, too!!) "Hi, this is JYPE Entertainment, today we announce", something that we all know is not possible, career suicide, would ruin their fucking lives – and somehow it's the same as Chan being like "ahhhh, nah nah nah, I've known her for so long, she's like a little sister to me" and people going "fuck that!!!" and shipping them anyways??! That sucks, I super agree!

But Minsung have never expressed any discomfort whatsoever about shipping. And they know about it. Why are we taking away the very real opportunity from potentially real queer people, to express themselves as well as they could where they live?

Why do queer people have to jump through hoops to prove that they're gay? Why can we put two and two together when it comes to het ships, but apparently we depend on forcing real people to come out so we feel comfortable calling them gay?

okay so first of all let me preface by saying: i LOVE dylan obrien. like, you see all these interviews where he's acting like the dream romcom love interest, and his connection with his castmates, and his personality. like it think that's a quality of his that we should praise. i also want to say that i am SO scared to post this ?? toxic girl fans are scary asf. but i've been wanting to make a post like this for a while, because like, yes, he is one of my fav actors but you can't say that you love him and not acknowledge some of the questionable things that have happened. ALSO let me say; i'm not saying that he should get cancelled. i'm not saying that he should face consequences, i just want to bring light to all of this because i think it's wrong to just overlook these things and act like nothing happened ?

okay so first: the twitter post. basically what happened was that when the overturn of roe v. wade and everything was going on, dylan tweeted "fuck your bible". this upset a lot of people, rightfully so !! he said it in the context that abortion should NOT be banned, as people were using the bible as an excuse FOR it to be banned. i respect that, HOWEVER - you can't just say that, i feel ? i don't know, i'm not religious so please don't take my word on this, i don't speak for the people, but just in general, like... that's someone's beliefs and religion. i think there was a better way to go about sharing his opinion. like, don't put down other people's beliefs because of your own? the message just comes across wrong and i know the intent was not malicious, but it's seriously something that makes me raise my eyebrow.

then we have rachael lange, who is dylan's current girlfriend. they started dating early 2023, i believe. for some background info, i guess, she's a model based in nyc.

so this is the main point of this post, because this is what honestly makes me the most upset, i guess ? so when people found out that they were together, obviously as people do, they did some digging. TURNS OUT rachael had some twitter posts, actually not some, but MANY racist tweets from her past. she said the n word, she joked about having pictures of children on her phone or smth (also hate tweets calling taylor swift a whore, which i'll get to later !!) - idk, you can look it up, i'm not going to get into the specifics on here. point is that it was terrible. she was at least 15 at the time here. the tweets span from like 2013 to 2015, but the taylor ones were in 2017. which like… you know not to say those things when you’re 15 ?? not to mention when you’re 16 and 17 and 18 or whatever. so age is NOT an excuse here.

HERE'S MY TAKE: and before you guys go "omg, bel, are you excusing racism? are you saying it's okay?" i am NOT saying that. do not put words in my mouth! whenever i look at controversies and things, i try to look at it from all angles. i try to understand every side. i try to step in everyone's shoes. so here's my thing:

dylan probably didn't know about the tweets before getting with rachael. do i think that after the tweets came out something should've happened? yes. however, if you spend time falling in love with someone, just to find out that they did something in their past - it's hard to just stop your feelings like that, understandably. i'm sure rachael now is, hopefully, not like that. i hope she's better. also, if you always focus on the past, you can't move on, so i can understand why dylan is still together with her, BUT:

he didn't even acknowledge the tweets? he's always been very open about his opinions and beliefs, and how people shouldn't be treated like that and yada yada so it's a bit hypocritical of him to just... not say anything. not address it. and CONTINUE to date her. the image he puts out is so positive, yet this is making it pretty negative, so...?

but anyway, we can't do anything about it. i just think that the whole situation is problematic asf, like yeah it's not dylan's fault for his girlfriend being an ass in the past, but this with everything else just feels a bit weird ngl.

OKAY i'm moving on now, the rachael thing is just sm, if you want me to elaborate please lmk because yeah

so the last thing is a SOMEWHAT a rumor. i want to make that clear. it's a rumor, HOWEVER there's a lot stacked up against it, so make of that what you will.

taylor swift hired dylan obrien to star in the all too well film alongside sadie sink a few years back. that was fine, dylan and taylor were then connected and that became a fun friendship that people were fans of! they were clearly on good terms. THEN he starts dating rachael, and it's like... what? because this man has not been to a single eras tour concert. but whatever, right? it is what it is.

but there's also gracie abrams, who is basically like taylor's little sister now. they have a song together, which is rumored to be about dylan obrien, because dylan and gracie were spotted together (prior to rachael and dylan becoming a thing) once. ONCE. dylan has been spotted with a bunch of girls before, such as sabrina carpenter, chloe grace moretz, etc., which obv sparked dating rumors but like whatever ?? however this just gets complicated because gracie is related to taylor, and if gracie's new song "cool" is about dylan (rumored), then things are a bit messy.

AGAIN, just a rumor. so this honestly to me isn't that problematic, but something definitely happened between taylor and dylan (most likely rachael + her tweets) to split them up, so it's not THAT innocent. but at the end of the day i don't really care about this taylor gracie stuff compared to the other two because it's a rumor and honestly just seems like a relationship that didn't work out. still worth mentioning tho.

THAT'S IT holy shit so scared to post this. again if u want me to elaborate LMK because i swear i'm not an asshole! i am just trying to view things from all angles and all perspectives and want to give ppl the benefit of the doubt (unfortunately i always see the good in people)

As much as I would love to read Mistake and see what the story is like, I'm more than fine with waiting until you think the story is perfect :] Obviously, you shouldn't be overcritical with yourself, but I believe that the satisfaction you feel about your own work as a writer should be more important than trying to make something to appeal to every reader.

As per my past, it originated from my love for films! I used to write long film reviews a few years ago. And despite my hectic schedule, I still seek free time for writing, since it comforts me to do this, whether it’s venting my emotions or being an assignment.

For the community, I found Tumblr through the now-suspended Kpopfap Comments account on Twitter lol. The first k-pop smut I’ve ever read was @rosiesmuts’ Muse. And to be fair, it opened a new possibility in writing for me!

Noona from the Bar is actually my first fiction work, to be honest. My other works are all film reviews and a few editing works back in high school.

Finally, my influence is pretty much from whatever I’ve read years ago lol: Harry Potter (yeah I know), Percy Jackson, and a few other YA books like The Maze Runner, Divergent. I also like to write in a non-linear fashion, though whether my reader will follow it remains unanswered.

And for Mistake, I don’t think I can write it quickly lol. It’s quite a personal story, and I don’t want the release to be met with criticisms. The daunting length doesn’t really help either - 15k words lol.

I’ll put out some shorter works to satisfy myself first! I have 1-2 drafts in my Docs that’s in progress and I hope I can release them soon!

Why do I personally enjoy gay romances to het ones? Preference and taste probably. I also tend to enjoy the angst, longing, tropes, passion, etc in the way its written more than I do in the ways those things are written between a straight couple. And that's not to say I don't enjoy straight romances either! I have plently of het ships I love too, and a few good romances that aren't gay 😂 I just have a preference, and that's okay! As for recommendations!! I have a LOTS! If you want to tell me about what YOU like to read, I can give even better recs. But for in general, some of my favorites...
