hm. all the greek mythological references made wrt armand and marius specifically referring to zeus’s acts of rape, kidnap and indifference to lack of consent + armand’s mortal life in marius’s household being bracketed by references to the myth of daphne & apollo - the first quote is from his first day in marius’s house, the last describes the moments that precede armand’s turning, after which he’s transferred to a different domestic space where he’s in fact further isolated and living in constant proximity to marius. I think there’s something scary about the whole deal!
