These days, short-form videos like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts are becoming very popular to attract your target audience and keep you above competitors. Before we learn what YouTube Shorts are, you should know that they are shorter in length than regular videos, usually less than 60 seconds. YouTube Shorts is a feature on YouTube that allows you to create and share short-form videos, similar to TikTok. They have become an essential part of achieving success on YouTube.
If you want to be successful in the YouTube industry but don't know how to make a YouTube short. Don't worry, here are some tips to help you -
Keep your video short and sweet
Use visuals in your video
Make your video engaging
Use relevant keywords to find your video
Promote your video on social media and other channels
The process for creating YouTube Shorts may have evolved since, as YouTube is constantly updating its features. With short videos, you can reach your audience with more in-depth marketing messages and hopefully convert them into customers.

TikTok is a well-designed app that has become incredibly popular due to its engaging content driven by its slick algorithm and intuitive user interface and continues to captivate users around the world.
However, its data security practices have been a subject of controversy, and it is important for users to be aware of the data the app collects and how it is used.

Thank you random person you understand
#asks#honestly just happy the vertical scrolling formats were respected. theyre not the easiest to translate into video form so i appreciate that#watched someone else squash one of my comics into oblivion and destroy the quality to make it fit for the youtube short format#and that made me really sad haha#so its really neat how they made the video scroll down to keep the idea of falling in there!!

My latest patch! Shoutout to NavyWolf from my twitch chat for stringing words together in a phrase that stuck with me long enough for me to make this out of it!
More chatter and some progress pics under the cut :)
If you are wondering what this is the best explanation I can give is during last February I decided I wanted to do a swear jar thing on stream and during some on stream planning this phrase was said in chat. Somehow it just evoked such a powerful mental image for me that I had to make it something real. And reflecting on that, I feel like a lot of the art I make is over that exact same reason.
With how busy school had been I didn't actually start work on this patch till the end of March, where I dusted off my pixel art skills for the pattern.
^the first sketches
After the pattern was finished up I basically just spent every moment of my free time (and some time I should've used for school work) working on the patch. I don't know why I was in such a rush since my own self imposed deadline could've stretched to basically next February, however my new sweater doesn't have any patches on it so I guess I wanted something for it as soon as I could.
I don't have much else to say about the process, it was fairly straightforward as far as patches go. I did find a nifty little website that includes colour picking with actual DMC or Anchor thread colours. I'll probably be using it from here on out for planning, although knowing me I will still be going back and forth between that and my phone's shitty little pixel art app.
And the progress gif!
Amazingly this one has more individual photos in it than the minecraft patch, but I think that's mostly the text cause I had an idea for how I wanted it to look in this gif once it was all done anyway.
And here it is in it's place of honour, same spot as the minecraft patch on my other sweater if you were curious:
#orange peels#embroidery#textile art#there really is something to be said about how the process changes when it becomes a part of the vision#<- this referring to a few choices I made while working on this patch. Mostly to do with the order of colours#and especially the process of adding the text. Maybe I am just watching too many short form videos about embroidery#anyway as always with these projects it makes me want to make more of them.#I've got some free time now so I'm sure I'll have something else to work on soon

i mean it when i say we've gotta bring back askblogs. bring back making character chat posts with poor choice text colors over random backgrounds. bring back blogs dedicated to what outfits you think characters would wear.
fandom is an ecosystem, not a numbers game. these types of blogs/posts/etc still exist in concept, because people still want to make them and they're a great way to get your thoughts of an idea out in a simple format, but most people make them on like tiktok or instagram reels and that's where the problem lies. Those videos don't go anywhere. The format doesn't allow for the discussion to spread through the community and they're less likely to be engaged with in general. And to make them most people have to either show their face or figure out editing software, so the barrier to entry is higher (editing) and/or they have to forfeit an amount of privacy.
those types of posts/blogs are the first rung of the ecosystem. they're the perfect environment for younger members of the fandom to begin safely interacting with the larger community and putting their own thoughts and ideas out there. roleplay is the other major spot for that and those communities are diminishing as well, honestly (if you know of an rp forum board site, cherish it. and if you can make one, make one). they allow younger fans to begin engaging with the source material on a different/deeper level, but still at a very low barrier to entry, and begin conversations with other fans, which also helps them build skills which in turn may encourage them to pursue other avenues within the fandom (fic writing, other formats of askblog - which itself usually leads to art, cosplay, also fic writing, etc). Without those places to build those skills, they might feel discouraged from trying to begin when surrounded by curated people who have built their skills up for years.
And those conversations they foster also in turn help the community, by offering ideas to artists or fic writers to extrapolate on or building community jokes. And that text/blog format specifically is extremely beneficial, because it allows younger members of the fandom to remain anonymous and keep their privacy without concerning themselves with having any platform or having anything attached to them (very important for young fans figuring themselves out and navigating online community spaces for the first time, since they can remove themselves from spaces easily if they decide they don't like it and they're protected, rather than PUTTING THEIR FACE ON THE INTERNET). And those posts they make will spread a lot more into the community since they're in a significantly easier format to be reposted (few people are gonna be reposting tons of random short-form videos versus spamming their instagrams with reposts of 10 random fandom images yoinked from tumblr, or reposting to pinterest or something). Like, don't repost art, at the VERY least don't repost without credit, but also I am not ignorant to the fact that my art is not just the first google image result for "pjo pride" and related searches, but also the 4th, the 6th, the 9th, the 10th, the 11th, etc etc., and pops up in the search results before the official ReadRiordan does simply because people reposted my work more (most with credit, thankfully).
For fandom to be a community, it needs to perpetuate itself. There needs to be engagement with one another and conversation. If that bottom rung is cut off, then new fans won't be able to grow into the other niches of the fandom, and the fandom will be solely reliant on the source material and die out extremely quickly, and there won't be a community. There's no conversation! There's no reason to stay beyond the original material! But if you don't have points of entry for new fans, they won't have any way to build the skills needed to move into those niches, or engage with the community in a healthy way.
tl;dr: Bring back askblogs and character-based text post blogs. They are vital to fandom ecosystem.
#fandom#long post //#i know many people jest about tumblr posts being reposted often to other social media#but there's a reason for that! because few other social media these days are primarily text-based! and tumblr is a BLOGGING website!#we're built for sharing random essays! which means we have a LOT of word-heavy stuff#that other platforms can really only have in a different format - usually either image or video - due to character limits#and videos - even short form video - is far less engaged with because it takes more time to interact with#and short form videos of this nature ^ are usually only reposted in like. long-form video format compilations#which are pretty equally if not even less frequently interacted with#because most of those other social media platforms dont have good ways to easily share posts en mass like tumblr's reblog function#so even if those posts do get shared they rarely go far and even if they do they dont stick around#i also personally dont think it's coincidental that general fandom attitude shifts occurred circa 2016-2018#around the same time as the major shift away from tumblr due to the bans#anyways if you run one of those types of blogs i respect you immensely#you are underappreciated but you fulfill an important ecological niche#also i know rp blogs are still a thing but theyre much more scarce and rp communities in general are drying up

hello short question
im going to do a stream where i draw some hedgehogs and finally talk about my beef with prime and frontiers and sonic worldbuilding as of late as a whole bc. it's so fucking hard to make a """video essay""" bc while i could collect my thoughts in notes they are all over the place, i need to get this shit out in dialogue.
MAYBE i will make a condensed version video later based on the stream but i could for the love of sonic not write a coherent script for a video and just hitting record and seeing where i end up is NOT going well.
i will stream over youtube, since most people probably have an account there and will be able to talk; and also youtube saves a vod of the stream for ppl who missed it. I will go back and make timestamps for easy (re)viewing, don't worry.
given most of my followers are from the usa im trying to find compromise by leaning into the night but also not too late so i'd be losing sleep, but please, if you want to attend chose the most accessible
#shadows logbook#sorry this is on such short notice i. literally forgot to make an announcement until now#this is why i cant make long form video#WAIT I FORGOT TO ADD AN OPTION TO SAY 'I DONT CARE BOTH ATE GOOD'#i cant edit the pooll-.............. hell

Finally made a Parapluesch OC, introducing Mama Oz ♥ (Patreon)
#Doodles#Parapluesch#Do I need to tag all of them? I don't want to so I won't lol#I can tag my original I guess :P#Mama Oz#She's based on this absolutely ridiculous and darling object I found at the same place I got my new-to-me video games haha#So apparently in the 60s this specific type of - magazine rack? in the shape of a kangaroo?? was made??#Ridiculous. So ostentatious. I fell in love immediately and had to make her into a Parapluesch#Like as soon as I laid eyes on her standing there I was like ''Oh you're from Die Anstalt'' - Instantly started filling in her backstory#Mama Oz's deal is your classic Stages of Grief - in her case from losing a child#Since she's a plush she never had an actual baby but she lost Her Child if you get me - she stopped being played with#And so she projects that grief onto others and adopts them in an attempt to get Her Child back#Except if this new relationship isn't within that framework then she rejects it and goes to the next one#She doesn't really realize that she's inconveniencing them by trying to adopt them and limiting herself from forming lasting connections#Not allowing change or growth - stagnating and trying to reclaim something lost#One of my favourite parts of Die Anstalt is that each of them is shown to have flaws#They still need and are deserving of help! But their uglier symptoms aren't shied away from#Dolly and Lilo use self-harm as a coping mechanism#Sly is shown to seek out the high at times and be short and destructive#Dub takes pride in his overwork#Kroko is surly and prickly#Don't even get me started on Dr. Wood lol#So it's fun to imagine what Mama Oz would be doing to - even by accident! - harm herself or others#The whole point of helping them is for them to become their best most comfortable selves :D#I also think what's especially funny is that I've been Meaning to make a Parapluesch OC for /years/ now#I always planned for it to be a Gender Dysphoria diagnosis since that's in the DSM and I had a design and route planned and everything#No. Kangaroo magazine rack. Okay#Lol
