5 Drinks to Get to Know Me

This is like a lamentation for so many of the drinks I can't have any more, cuz I'm (begrudgingly) gluten and dairy and artificial sweetener-free now for health reasons. Alternative milks just don't cut it sometimes, ya know?! 😭 But these will always be my faves:

Water. Gotta get that 80+ oz a day my GI doc lectured me about.

Banana Milk (Korean) - When I discovered this at one of the Asian grocery stores here I was like WHERE has this been all my life??!! And it comes in cute little juice-like boxes with mini straws??!! When chilled it's like nana crack??!! 🍌

Calpico Strawberry (Japanese) - With some sort of cultured milk base, it soooo refreshing and has this smooth mouthfeel I could neverrrr get enough of.

Eggnog - Velvety holiday scrumptiousness my beloved.

Cold Hot Cocoa/Chocolate - OK don't throw sticks at me but I love to stir the powder in cold milk until it it gets to this very specific saturated clumpy cocoa-to-milk ratio? That it doesn't dissolve completely and sits on top is part of the charm? WAIT WAIT I was googling this and I just read that this was a thing on the show Community? "Special Drink"? Do I have a weird-ass cold cocoa FREN on this planet??? In a fictional character???😆 Look looooook:

Bill throughout the show tricks people into making deals with him that they often regret. He makes a deal with all 4 of the Pines' family members, but only Stan was the one to trick and out-con Bill, which leads to both their demise (Stan got better).

In his last moments, Bill invokes "AXOLOTL", the "ancient powers" so that he may return. In the choose your own adventure book, it turns out that the Axolotl is a giant cosmic being, that made a deal with Bill. It says,

This lead to a lot of speculation, but one of the most popular theories is called "Same Coin" theory. It says that Bill was reincarnated non-linear into the past as Stan, which explains them having the same voice actor, (tho so do other characters), both of them being conmen, Stan "redeeming" himself by defeating Bill, and why Stan's memory returned so quickly after being mind-wiped to kill Bill."

⊹ Gepard Landau

Gepard was consistently endeared and... frankly, worried by your nature.

Being an incredibly patient man, well-trained on his emotional handling as a member of the Silvermane Guards, he could handle your playful attitude and teasing.

Though, let's be clear—"could handle" does not mean "immune to".

The poor Captain had more than his fair share of going red in the face whenever you were around.

It's not that you were trying to tease the poor man, knowing how shy he could get and how easily it could happen, but he was just too easy!

Your energy was contagious, and so was your smile and your laughter. But he definitely noticed your habit of shirking the rules—all in good fun, you'd say.

Gepard would find himself sighing when you ended up getting in trouble with the other guards, ready for another round of justifying your actions and asking for leniency on your behalf. If the Captain asked for it, it was usually done.

It could be a hassle, but... Still, he couldn't be too upset. Not when you looked at him with those big eyes as if to try and absolve yourself of any crimes.

Most situations ended with another long, drawn-out sigh from Gepard, the kind that you always knew meant he wasn't really mad, and a gentle mussing of your hair with the promise to "never do something like that again".

Spoiler: You always did something like that again.

However, you were clearly very caring towards your friends and family. It was something the Captain admired most about you.

It also worried him, however.

There were more than a few instances where he'd find you out with one of your many friends, getting into it with a hoodlum that harassed you two with that signature assertive smirk of yours.

He was concerned in those moments, but not beyond reason.

Sure, he had gone out to patrol this particular section because he heard you'd be around. Surely, it was only to make sure you stay out of trouble, and not because his thoughts are plagued by you in every waking moment or otherwise—

They'll be fine! he'd assure himself. Even they're not that reckless.

You were your own person, and a strong-willed one at that. There was no reason for him to intervene.

Until, of course, he saw that same hoodlum grab your arm on one such day.

Gepard had faith in your ability to worm your way out of anything, always with a wink and a smile—that was how you evaded arrest and looped past the rules so many times, after all.

But when things got physical, he would never hesitate to step in and defend you, knowing your selfless nature.

He noticed a lot about you. But the one thing he never did seem to notice was the way your eyes gleamed with affection in those moments he helped you out.

Maybe one day, though...

Dan Heng honestly thought that after meeting and interacting with March 7th, he had seen it all in terms of unfounded confidence and boundless energy.

You proved to be the exception.

Not that he minded, though.

Naturally introverted Dan Heng didn't find himself spending much time with you at first. You seemed more the type to get along with March, or even the Trailblazer.

Even Himeko and Welt, older as they were, seemed taken with your charming nature.

However, eventually, you slowly cracked his reserved little shell. It shockingly didn't take much aside from time.

"Dan Heng, want to see me fight off this Fragmentum Monster? Bet you ten Shield I can take it out in three hits or less!"

"That seems reckless... Besides, what use do you have for Shield? We're only in Jarilo-VI for a brief visit."

"To buy you a nice meal, of course! I've been saving."

You ended that sentence with a usual wink and a pat to his shoulder, running off to defeat the monster anyhow.

Dan Heng would mutter something about "what's the point if I'm the one giving you the money", but what you missed was the faint flush on his cheeks at the notion.

You're just playing around, he'd think. You say things like that all the time to everyone, not just him.

You never got to see past the stoic expression he kept stubbornly on his face, but when he got to the archives after a long day of trailblazing, his mind would be nowhere but you.

To be truthful, though he'd never admit it, your confidence was admiral to Dan Heng.

Though it could be difficult and a bit of a bother to bail you out when your games didn't go to plan, you consistently got back on your feet, never swayed by your circumstances.

It made him think to his own past from time to time, and a small fire ignited in his soul to work on his own confidence with himself.

Not only that, but your dedication to those you cared for.

When an Antimatter Legion monster had descended on you, Dan Heng, March, and the Trailblazer, you were the one who made an opening for the group to escape.

In spite of his reluctance to leave you behind, March had dragged him along, telling him to trust you.

And he did. He really, really did. But a part of him also agonized endlessly over it for every minute you didn't return to the safe zone in the space station.

Eventually, you had turned up—not a scratch on you, of course—but while the others had cheered for your return and complimented your brilliant plan, Dan Heng had only tugged on your sleeve once the two of you were alone.

He didn't say anything, but you noticed the look on his ever-reserved face, and pulled him into a hug.

"Gonna cry on me, Dan Heng? Here, I'll offer you my shoulder. I didn't realize you cared about me this much!" you giggled.

He only buried his face in your shoulder.

"...I don't know what you're talking about."

After Bill possessed Stan, Bill caused quite a bit of chaos on the boiling islands, thank goodness Eda, Luz and King stopped him in time

Stan took quite a while to find Bill, who was having fun taking control of Stan's body

Things would get out of control when Stan and Bill fight for control of the body, Stan's mind seemed to be affected by the presence of two souls inside the same body

As a consequence, Stan now had memories that he didn't believe were his, he refused to believe they were his…

Bill left Stan's body, thanks to Stan giving him a good punch, with that, Bill left Stan's body But with the promise that he would return

After that, Eda and Stan reconciled

But the memories of that night haunt him to Stan to this day

Bill Cipher is an Icarus

Originally posted on the Gravity Falls Amino in August, 2019.

In Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of Daedalus who was ordered by King Minos to build a structure that could contain a creature called the Minotaur. Rather than building a prison, Daedalus constructed a labyrinth so complex that anyone who entered could never find their way back out. 

Wanting to keep the Minotaur a secret, King Minos locked away Daedalus and his family, including Icarus. 

But Daedalus was clever. He built two pairs of wings out of wax and feathers. One for him and one for Icarus. Once the time came to make the attempt to escape, Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun or the wax in his wings would melt. With that, the two started flying toward freedom.

Caught up in the sensation of flight, Icarus forgot his father’s warnings. He went higher and higher, seizing as much of that freedom as he could. He didn’t even notice the wax holding his wings together was melting. Suddenly, the feathers became too loose, and Icarus fell to his death in the sea. 

The story of Icarus is referenced to a couple times in Journal 3 by Ford. The first time he’s talking about how jealous he is of his “Muse” (Bill Cipher) for being free from all physical limitations. If a person spends eight hours of every day asleep, then they would be wasting about ⅓ of their life. While working on the portal, Fiddleford was the first to give into fatigue, and warned Ford not to stay up too late:

“‘Don’t forget what happened to Icarus,’ he told me as he packed up his things and left.

‘He didn’t flap hard enough,’ I replied.”

When Ford finds out what Bill was really planning, he admits Fiddleford was right. 

“If only Icarus could see me now.” Ford’s confession that he has flown too close to the sun, a consequence that almost resulted in his and the world’s undoing. 

But we know how that story ended, and it wasn’t just Ford’s wings that burned. The moral of Icarus’s story is to never forget your limitations. This is why I argue that the other Icarus in “Gravity Falls” is Bill Cipher.

Over the course of his story, Bill had one goal: to be free from all limitations. How this ambition developed doesn’t matter. What’s important to understand is that Bill’s ultimate goal was to be free from laws and restrictions, and that is why he burned his dimension.

Oh, and for some reason there is still some question if Bill burned his dimension. Let me clear that up.

I hope that cleared up any doubts anyone may still have had.

However, burning his dimension didn’t give Bill the freedom he was after. After the fact, he was trapped in the Nightmare Realm for one trillion years, only able to interact with the physical world by means of possession or through the mindscape. That’s a pretty big limitation. That’s why whenever he came close to overcoming that barrier, and failed, he got visibly frustrated and angry. 

Absolute freedom is what Bill preached to justify what he was doing. It was his way of convincing himself that what he was doing, however messed up, wasn’t wrong. Why does he need to convince himself? Because freedom, the one thing he’s after, is the one thing he can never truly have. 

The Axolotl’s poem, as I showed you before, gives hints to Bill’s possible return. It’s not a particularly new discovery. Most everyone knows this by now, but for the sake of completion, let me recite those hints one more time:

“If he wants to shirk the blame, he’ll have to invoke (the Axolotl’s) name

One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time.”

Basically, if Bill wants to further avoid punishment for the arson, he can invoke the Axolotl. But this proves something about Bill. He’ll never be truly free from the responsibility of burning his dimension. He knows this, and it enrages him. 

I mean, how infuriating it must be that the one limitation he can never be free from is the one he imposed on himself. And it’s almost poetic that his downfall happened in a blue fire, similar to his blue fire that he ignites when he makes a deal. Almost like the deal he made with Stan was the moment he flew too close to the sun. 

Since the show ended, there has been a debate whether Bill is evil or tragic. This is my way of arguing both. The truth is, I don’t think there is an evil character who isn’t tragic. Anyone who believes that instigating fear and chaos is the right thing to do must have gone through a lot of pain themselves. That doesn’t make it okay. But it is tragic. 

I think what makes an Icarus is when a person gets too cocky and too comfortable, and they start to think they’re invincible. That’s when they fly too close to the sun. But I don’t think the moral of the story should be “remember your limitations”. I think it should be, “stay grounded”. Don’t be afraid to take risks, just remember that they’re risks. And be prepared that you might fall.

Anyone who knows tawhīd knows that democracy contradicted Tawhīd!!

All democracies today are what's called as "representative democracies" where people chose a representative to represent their right to legislate and govern the the country the way they want

As per definition of Britannica:

Representative democracy, political system in which citizens of a country or other political entity vote for representatives to handle legislation and otherwise rule that entity on their behalf.

Thereby, when a voter casts a vote, they are exercising their right to have a say in how their society is governed. This vote represents a fundamental democratic right, allowing individuals to participate in the decision-making process, influencing policies, electing leaders, and shaping the direction of their community or nation. Essentially, each vote is a voice in the collective decision-making, ensuring that governance is reflective of the people's will.

In summary, the one who votes is "exercising his right to legislate through electing a representative who will do it for him"

Legislation in Shârī'āh of Allāh

Allāh ﷻ says:

Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to ṭāghūt, while they were commanded to reject it; and Sâtān wishes to lead them far astray. [4:60]

He also says:

”…He shares not His legislation with anyone." [18:26]

And:

Legislation is not but for Allāh. [12:40]

No scholar has ever disagreed on legislation of something other than that of Allāh is kufr and tāghūt. al-Hāfîh ibn Kâthīr (Râhîmâhûllāh) reports consensus on this, he says: The one who forsakes the law that was revealed to Muhammad ibn ‘Abd-Allāh, the Seal of the Prophets (blessings and peace of Allāh be upon him) and refers for judgement to any other law that has been abrogated, has committed an act of kufr, so how about the one who refers for judgement to al-Yāsa and gives it precedence? The one who does that is a Kāfir according to the consensus of the Muslim [al-Bidāyâh wa’l-Nihāyâh, 13/139]

Then what about the one who exercises his right to legislate by electing a representative? has he not take himself as a partner to Allāh??

Now to those who say "he doesn't do it but the representative is the legislator, so he is the one committing shirk". Even if we say this is true, then it still doesn't absolve the voter of shirk as the one who has approved of this taghūt by voluntarily enabling him to that position.

It was reported in an hâdīth:

‘Adī ibn Hātim (may Allâh be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Prophet (may Allāh's peace and blessings be upon him) recite this verse: {They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allāh, and [also] the Mêssī'āh, the son of Marîyâm. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.} So I said to him: "We do not worship them." He replied: "Don't they forbid what Allāh allows, so you forbid it? Don't they allow what Allāh forbids, so you allow it?" I said: 'Yes.' He said: "That is how you worship them." 

Then what about the one who goes and choses a legislator who makes hâlāl what Allāh has deemed hârām and makes hârām what Allāh has deemed Hâlāl? you’re literally creating a partner with Allāh?

I think this is enough for the person who wants guidance!!

Now as for Tâqī Usmānī!l

There is no doubt in this that he is a scholar of tāghūt, who defend them by their fatāwā' Year ago, he said that Pak is an Islāmic state and its harām to rebel against Pak Govt. Now anyone who has given Bâsīrāh by Allāh can see that Pāk state is a tāghūtī state, coz they govern by man made laws and it is wājîb on a mûslim who knows tawhīd to do kufrt bît tāghūt, to make takfīr on Pak Tāghūtî state and make takfīr on those who support them!! And Taqī Usmānī had also so much deviancy in other Aqīdâh matters like in Asmā' Wâ Sîffāt!!

Also According to Tâqī Usmānī Tālîgān are Muslim fightets who do Jihād in the cause of Allāh, but this can say only a person who has no knowledge of Aqīdâh!! Tālîgāns also rule by man made laws!! They support Murtâdīn, Mûshrîkīn to fight against Muwāhīdīn! They made treaties with Kuffārs to fight against the Muwāhīdīn!!

If I sit and start to writing about the kufr of tâqī Usmānī and voters, I can write Bundles of books!!

But As i Said Above, anyone who is sincere and want guidance, then this is enough for that person!!

LTOLOXA AU

Sixty degrees that come in threes. Watches from within birch trees. Saw his own dimension burn. Misses home and can’t return. Says he’s happy. He’s a liar. Blame the arson for the fire. If he want’s to shirk the blame. He’ll have to invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time.

This is an AU that takes place after the conclusion of Gravity Falls, and by extension, after Bill Cipher’s death.  Given the above (very much canon) poem from the Axolotl himself, and the fact that Bill’s very much did invoke his name, I’m taking a few liberties and saying that after some time, he is essentially reincarnated in a human form. That time can be one year or 20 years, it can vary from person to person, I’m not terribly picky. Though I would like to keep it within that range, probably. 

That said, his powers are all but non-existent, and he’s very much stuck in this “meat sack” of his own. And he has all the limitations that come with being a mortal as well, from not being able to float around, to simply needing to eat and sleep. I still hold this fic as basically canon to my blog, so it’s not like Bill hasn’t done this stuff before, but it’s sure been a while. Also, his memories will of certain events depicted in said timeline will likely come back during the course of this. 

Where I go with this AU can vary widely too. This can lead to an actual redemption arch of sorts (long term, don’t expect miracles) or it might just be another way for me to fuck around with Bill. It depends a lot on the things he experiences, the people he meets, and whether he lives long enough to make any real change.

INFO ON HUMAN BILL

Hair: Long, messy blonde hair, usually falls in front of one of his eyes. 

Skin: a dark tan, largely as pictured

Eyes: Pretty much just as pictured – visibly yellow with elliptical pupils, like that of a cat. It’s possible that certain lighting conditions might mask the yellow color though, that’s context-dependent. On rarer occasions, his eyes will turn red when very angry, just as they did in his triangle form, but when that happens it will be indicated by icons, in text, or both. 

Teeth: pointed, sharp, shark-like teeth

Height: 4'11’’

Weight: 100lbs with some minor variation

Age: His true age is still over a trillion years old, that hasn’t changed. This is the same world from before, he’s just reborn. In terms of appearance though, he’s physically somewhat ambiguous. I’d say proportion wise, he just looks like a very short teenager/adult-ish person.  His build is probably more on the scrawny side. 

Faceclaim(s): The icons I make mostly use  edited versions of Viral from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Lapis Lazuli (pretending to be Amethyst) from Steven Universe, Sucy Manbavaran from Little Witch Academia, and Yuri Katsuki from Yuri on Ice. There are also a few icons I might have that are drawn specifically for Bill by a variety of generous other users, and if I use those, you can be sure you will find the credits here. If for some reason you DON’T see an icon I use there, assume it was made from the previous mentioned sources, with some considerable recoloring/minor editing on my part. Becasue of these variations (as well as some occasional laziness of my part), some icons might have small inconsistencies. When in doubt, refer to the traits described above. That trumps all else. 

Voiceclaim: Human Bill’s voice is very, VERY similar to his canon triangle voice, but without the voice distortion elements. Basically the closest you can possible get to Bill Cipher’s voice without editing software, so something like this. The only exception is any dialouge written in bold – the rule for that still applies as normal. If you see something written like this, read it in his deep, eldritch horror voice he uses when angry. It will happen a lot more seldom in his human form, but it still might happen. 

Additional Notes/Warnings:

Bill is very much mortal in this AU, can be hurt, and CAN die. I do ask that you talk to me before killing him, but I’m not inherently against it. I figure he’s bound to die in at least one of these threads. 

Just as in canon, Bill is prone to sadomasochistic tendencies. In his human form, he most likely WILL attempt to hurt himself for his own amusement, via cutting, burning, etc. Depending on how the AU progresses, he might also get genuinely suicidal, possibly to the point of attempting it. I will, of course, tag all of these things accordingly as they come up, but if you are RPing with me in this AU and are uncomfortable with themes of self-harm or suicide, YOU NEED TO TELL ME.

Round 1: Match 18

"Two Sides of the Same Coin"- Two things that are regarded as part of the same thing. Even if they're very different, they have at least one common thread that helps them fit into this trope.

Propaganda (under the cut):

Stanley Pines and Bill Cipher:

"They're both conmen voiced by the show's creator Alex Hirsch, but while Stan is just a shyster who spent his life selling vacuums, going to prison in Colombia, and impersonazing his twin brother for 30 years, Bill is a demon who makes deals with people.

Bill throughout the show tricks people into making deals with him that they often regret. He makes a deal with all 4 of the Pines' family members, but only Stan was the one to trick and out-con Bill, which leads to both their demise (Stan got better).

In his last moments, Bill invokes "AXOLOTL", the "ancient powers" so that he may return. In the choose your own adventure book, it turns out that the Axolotl is a giant cosmic being, that made a deal with Bill. It says,

"If he wants to shirk the blame, He'll have to invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time."

This lead to a lot of speculation, but one of the most popular theories is called "Same Coin" theory. It says that Bill was reincarnated non-linear into the past as Stan, which explains them having the same voice actor, (tho so do other characters), both of them being conmen, Stan "redeeming" himself by defeating Bill, and why Stan's memory returned so quickly after being mind-wiped to kill Bill."

Josuke Higashikata and Yoshikage Kira

"Josuke Higashikata is a high-school boy with a large pompadour living in the town of Morioh. He lives alone with his mother, as his father wasn't in the picture. His ability, Crazy Diamond, allows him to repair or heal anything he touches with it. Because his grandfather was murdered before he could use his power to save him, Josuke vowed to carry on his legacy by protecting the town. Yoshikage Kira is a 33-year-old office worker who just wants to live a quiet life. He's also a serial killer who kills women discretely and goes on 'dates' with their severed hands. His ability, Killer Queen, assists in his murders by allowing him to silently "explode" anything he touches, leaving almost no evidence.

Naturally, there are many parallels and contrasts between Josuke and Kira. Both want to live a "quiet life", but while Josuke cannot live quietly because he feels he must protect his town from supernatural threats, Kira can't live quietly because his murdering habits put him in danger of discovery.

Josuke is often seen as a delinquent but has a clear heart of gold, and Kira puts on an incredibly rehearsed act of being an ordinary office worker but is far from an upstanding member of society in private.

Kira's powers allow him to annihilate things and is born from wanting to indulge his urges with no repercussions. It's also one of the more strangely adaptable abilities, fitting his shrewd and evasive nature — he has several different ""bomb"" types that emerge over the course of the story.

Meanwhile, Crazy Diamond allows Josuke to repair things (even things that Kira has almost completely destroyed). The power was developed when Josuke was inspired by another person's kindness as a child. It's an altruistic ability, and literally selfless — Josuke cannot use his ability to heal himself. And while Crazy Diamond never ""evolves"", Josuke uses its base power in increasingly clever ways.

And of course, one last contrast between the two is friendship. Josuke befriends many of the people he comes to blows with, and even the people who don't like him often develop a begrudging respect for him.

Kira, however, has no close friends, as he tries his best to be perfectly average and middling. The only reason he has protection against Josuke and the others is because his father actively finds new enemies to fight Josuke — most of whom have no real allegiance towards Kira personally."

Inktober Day 31: Fire

"says he's happy, he's a liar, blame the arson for the fire, if he wants to shirk the blame, he'll have to invoke my name, one way to Absolve his crime, a different form, a different time". Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls was indeed the first thing that really came to mind for this prompt!

And with that, that's another inktober challenge completed! I know I'm not a great artist, but I had fun making these!

I can not stop thinking about this post. Like some of the reblogs imply that bill cipher and Mickey Mouse are the same person.

It’s crazy because before bill died, he said:

A-X-O-L-O-T-L

My time has come to burn

I invoke the ancient power

So that I may return

And there’s an axolotl character in a gravity falls book, one that directly mentions this act. He said (and I quote):

If he wants to shirk the blame

He'll have to invoke my name

One way to absolve his crime

A different form, a different time

This means that bill was trying to reach the axolotl to try and escape death by being reincarnated into someone else. Although it is implied he’ll have to live his life paying for his crimes.

So there is a possibility that bill could be reincarnated into Mickey Mouse. And if it’s true, the pure irony is delicious.

Bill cipher, one of the vilest cruelest terrifyingest villains of time, gets reincarnated into Mickey, one of the sweetest cutest adorablest creatures of all time.

Unless we’re talking about 20’s-30’s Mickey Mouse because that guy would totally give deer teeth to people he hates

It could be like a Steven universe and pink diamond situation where the same soul energy is used so they have the powers and stuff but are generally considered two different entities.

And it’s shown that bill is aware of our reality and can us through the screen

And look at this YouTube short! Mickey breaks the forth wall and talks to us unironically in a show that features fake forth wall breaks! That has to mean something!

SEVEN DEADLY SINS TAG

LUST

Lian has a lust for power and is willing to do anything to obtain it, but I cannot go into further detail on that since it would be a major spoiler.

GLUTTONY

Vangilyne has expensive taste and a tendency to overindulge in what she enjoys. I'm still trying to figure her out as a character, so I don't have much left to add, but she suits this sin.

GREED

Nykia wants to have dominion over the entire world. As the spawn of the primordial Darkness, she feels entitled to it. The world had come into existence without light, so it's only fitting for it to return to its natural state. She views lesser beings as toys for her to break and bend to her will, and nothing would please her more than to take them all from the other deities.

SLOTH

Some in the wos universe would argue Damaeris has shirked his responsibilities, but not for lack of trying or care at least in the beginning. He is a Cassandra figure of sorts, cursed with visions of the future but with no one to believe him. And once everything happens as was predicted, he is often appointed by others to take the fall; a sacrificial lamb used to absolve them of their own blame and guilt. Over time he grew tired and traumatized by this and set off on his own, only to run into Guinevere years later and be forced to confront yet another one of his visions with her at its epicenter. He knows that he should warn her of the upcoming devastation, but he's been wronged by his own kind before. How can he be sure it will go well this time around?

WRATH

Silas has a strong desire to inflict pain and suffering onto those who have harmed him as a child. This need for vengeance has consumed him to the point where he cannot tell when this path ends and where his life is finally allowed to start. He has clung to this anger for so long that he cannot even begin to understand who he might be without it. Perhaps obtaining inner peace will never be an option available to him, leaving him no choice but to become a monster in turn.

ENVY

Taliesin is the second son of King Balis, the spare. Whilst Radan gets all the love and admiration of their father, he is left with nothing but his neglect and abuse. He wants nothing more than to be his brother's equal, but the lack of affection over the order of his birth and his notice of Radan's dislike of being in the spotlight breeds resentment in his soul. Taliesin wants to take his place, as he would have a better appreciation for his brother's position as heir to the throne.

PRIDE

Alinar was once considered a child prodigy, as he excelled in magic far beyond the capabilities of his peers at the time, and the praise he received bolstered his ego. Over time, however, he begins to stand out less and less as those around him become his equals. He still craves being the center of attention, but there is no longer something special about him and he cannot stand it. This need to prove himself causes him to plunge the angel/reni war into further chaos in an attempt to create a self-fulfilling prophecy and come out on top. Surely if the world becomes unstable enough, a deity will feel compelled to take on an avatar once more in order to balance the scales, and who better than himself is able take on this burden of power?
