小灰蝶[Shijimi(-chō)] : Gossamer-winged butterfly(Lycaenidae)

Shijimi is also written as 蜆 or 蜆蝶[(-chō)]. There is a bivalve family called 蜆(Cyrenidae), and the members of Shijimichō(Lycaenidae), including this species, are given the same name as it because their wings resemble it. The members of Shijimichō are small with forewings less than three centimeters long, lovely, and some of them have beautifully colored wings. This one in the photo is male, and female is blackish.
