i think its more of an “amanda fully believed people were capable of change/rebirth at the beginning of saw 2, i mean, thats why she wanted to be an apprentice anyways right? she got “fixed” wanted to try to help out all her prison bros that were fucked over by eric matthews like she was,, tried so hard to help everyone out throughout the trapt house.

i think what broke her was time and pressure and being up close inside the trap and seeing again and again these ppl fuck each other over:

keyhole dude unwilling to listen to the rules, obi being willing to help kidnap everyone, but unwilling to save the syringes for the others, xavier throwing amanda in the pit and directly refusing his own chance at redemption, then refusing to solve the puzzle the right way once he figured it out and killing those 2 ppl to try to save himself even though it woulda been possible to save everyone. she probably walked through the house after the fact and saw razor box girl and figured no one wanted to help her out.. and then eric matthews man of the hour not being able to not Be A Cop™ and going psycho on john and breaking all the cop rules,

THEN fucking saw 3 jeff w 0 urgency unwilling to help almost everyone.. shes put under so much tension + stress bc literally her mentor/father figure is dying and all with the lynn shit, also hoffman threatening her.
