first of all, are yall forgeting that they (the characters) are literally in a loop where they repeat the same roles over and over again! LIKE THEIR DECISIONS ARE MADE FOR THEM NOT BY THEM so keep that in mind

vinny has been a victim (like every other character) in all iterations/universes, throughout each-one he’s never learned how to defend himself or say no to peer pressure!

habit has made VARIOUS EXAMPLES (via murder and torture) of people who either didn’t listen to him or that he straight up didn’t like!

as the show goes on you see how habit now becomes dependent on vinny and how vinny becomes dependent on habit (cause all of vinny’s friends are dead and slender man is still out there)

it becomes a bully v.s victim situation where the victim has to stay with their bully to be safe, a situation that many people blatantly ignore for the sake of habit’s charisma and character,

he became adaptable to the situation, becoming complicit towards habit’s violent tendencies and even insulting or pushing habit cause he knows that habit cant get rid of him if they want to defeat slenderman!

for my other point, aka continuing the investigation,

DUDE! who tf wouldn’t follow the investigation on slenderman or habit, THEY ARE KILLING PEOPLE AND THE POLICE CANT DO SHIT ABOUT IT! and yes I acknowledge that vinny did remove incriminating evidence of himself that would make him look bad, WHICH IS A SHITTY THING TO DO btw

but other characters have also made shit decisions or mistakes in the series, ITS LITERALLY A REALISTIC THING TO DO!!

for example jeff gets stephanie sent to a fucking MENTAL INSTITUTION because he SUSPECTED that she was working with slenderman

do i think it was a good idea to pressure others into the investigation, no! thats a terrible idea and he should have done it by himself or atleast warned gang about his knowledge of information!

BUT in the end hes not necessarily a villain, hes a morally grey person like the rest of characters, except for habit and slenderman they are straight up evil,

reasonings:

in my little headcannon universe, the security team from the vault established themselves in Sanctuary + that's why the houses look better than they should after 200 years

they were a relatively small settlement, and pretty isolated due to location. down to about a single family by the time Kellogg and the Institute roll in and that's the last anybody's ever heard of folks living there permanently.

(the Abernathy's have this in familial memory btw! it's a generation or so back, but it's there!)

even without all that, he was living in Sanctuary for a couple months before heading off to Concord and was able to clean the place up a bit more + re-establish a garden + prepare to take on livestock later on + establish a relationship with the Abernathy's

even IF he took them to visit Nora's grave in the meantime, they'd probably just assume she ghoulified. All Constantine's ever said about her boils down to "a really good friend of mine", "i miss her", "can't imagine what my life would be like without her", "we had a wild time together", etc, - all things that can be assigned to anybody. not that big of a mental leap to think of her as a ghoul.

Constantine openly admits that "[his] mental map of the region is a bit out of date"!

Constantine looks like a wastelander, especially after his couple months above ground.

Constantine's in-universe voiceline about previously living in Sanctuary is not the in-game one. It's closer to "Yeah, I used to live here before.....-" (expression undergoes several changes) (this is him realizing "before the war" would be weird as hell to say and worse to explain) "-... uhm. Just before."

probable conclusion about this situation from the POV of the sanctuary crew:

there used to be a small settlement here. it got destroyed by the Institute because they wanted something from the Vault

Constantine was part of that settlement, got his kid taken, and fled for a bit. He's only recently returned to start repairs.

Codsworth was ALSO part of the settlement and survived the Institute attack, and that's why he knows Constantine so well

He's been in the vault, but does/did not come from it. The vault also freaks him out. (this thought is justified because of his claustrophobia + asking Preston/Sturges to grab the Cryolator)

What do you think about the talk in the fandom on how Crowley should have accepted going to Heaven 'to do good and stop the Apocalypse' and that 'he also rejected Aziraphale'? It personally gives me the creeps because the narrative makes clear that Heaven is a big white nightmare but the fandom seems to be taking the 'Aziraphale might jot be perfect' thing hard and therefore Heaven is fixable now...

And, oh boy, do I have thoughts on that, let's see if I can get them to be somewhat coherent.

I am going to start this off with a metaphor of sorts and hopefully people will be able to follow along. I'm an older sibling and have a little sister, and we grew up in an incredibly abusive and neglectful household.

When I graduated high school, I moved out for university, which was literally the best thing to ever happen to me - I got away, I was/am free! Now I have to deal with the consequences of all that shit though.

If my sister asked me to come back so I can help her fix our mother (entirely theoretical btw she'd never lol) would it be the right thing to say yes? Should I give up my personal freedom, my life, the healing process I am right in the middle of, to go back to a household that broke me? So I can be trapped with a person that will never change again?

The answer is, of course, no. I feel bad for my sister and I am praying she will be able o move out soon, but me going back would not solve a single fucking thing. See where I'm going with this yet?

Crowley left heaven and landed on earth, which was ultimately good for him, but he has a lot to process and heal from; he's right in the middle of his own recovery.

Heaven will not change, it cannot be changed. The entire institution is working as intended, and the intention is to be abusive, manipulative, and have as much power over everyone as possible. You cannot fix that, you need to get rid of it.

Aziraphale has good intentions, but he is also still trapped in that abusive household because he never moved out, he is the sibling that stayed behind, just mentally instead of physically.

Hot take, but many people in this fandom are incapable of understanding that "Aziraphale is acting based on good intentions and is still actively being abused/traumatized" and "Aziraphale did bad and unhealthy things and his relationship with Crowley was co-dependent and toxic" are co-existing. Both are true.

Both. are. true.

He did messed up shit out of a trauma response, but he is still responsible for his actions, and at the same time he deserves a chance to heal and move on from it. Please, at this point I am begging people to understand that this is not a black and white issue.

Crowley did not reject Aziraphale, if anything, Aziraphale rejected him.

Crowley said no to returning to an abusive environment for an impossible task. Crowley said no to sacrificing his mental and physical health for something that he knows will not happen. Crowley, for the first time in his life, set a clear and final boundary and put himself and his life over Aziraphale's wishes.

That is a good thing. It is necessary.

Season 3 will not be about Aziraphale fixing heaven or preventing the second coming (if anything it'll be accidental just like in season 1). It's going to be about him finding his way out of his abusive household and into a healthy environment in which they're both free and can heal.

Apart AND together.

It's not happily ever after, it's not perfect romance, it's not "soul-mates" or anything. It is messy, it is real, it is complicated, and I am so fucking tired of seeing it reduced to "love conquers all".

Children are an oppressed social class - the cruellest example in memory

To summarize: 1. Utah Child Services finds that a dad had sexually abused two of his children (police declined to press charges, I can only wonder white- I mean why)

2. They mandate that all visits to the father must fully supervised

3. Father goes before a Utah judge and claims that the children's mother has "parentally alienated" him from the children. Parental alienation is a mental diagnosis that is not accepted by any credible institution, but, still finds success in American courtrooms and is the number one defence used by abusive family members

4. Judge orders that the children must be sent with the father on a 90 day trip to a rehabilitation facility, against the wishes of the children

5. Judge must know that the father is sexually abusive, because he also mandated that the children are to stay at relatives overnight and still not be allowed unsupervised time... yet still mandated that they go on a 90 day trip with him

6. Legitimately fearing for their lives, the children have physically barricaded themselves in a room in their mother's house. Police have been given authorization to use force to "retrieve them" but have surprisingly held back thus far

7. The judge made sure to criticize the mother for giving the barricaded children food, saying it was prolonging the suffering. I think starvation is worse, but what do I know, I'm not a white Morman minister who got my law degree from Brigham Young

Children are an oppressed class, probably the most consistently oppressed class in the world

They are constantly denied agency, denied individuality, and denied freedom from the government, from society, and often, from their own parents

In Manitoba, a mother was given a permanent warning from child services for letting her kids play in the backyard while she watched from a window

In Ontario, btw? The minimum age where it's ok to leave kids not constantly supervised is SIXTEEN.

We created a system where children have no independence, have it taken away, and are now being increasingly used as just pawns in the ever increasing culture war against the "trans brainwashing agenda" but, that is a whole 137 other cans of worms

But, the method is always the same. Society, the government, parents, dont treat children as people, they're more seen as... future investments, how many times have you heard "I fed and clothed you so you better be grateful"

Lost And Found Part 5

Requested on wattpad a few days ago.

Vaggie found herself in a hospital bed, alone. She called out for mama but she wasn't there. She noticed that she had both of her eyes and the room looked very similar... oh no. Not here again. She got out of the bed, she was in the stupid hospital uniform gown thing that everyone had to wear. Beginning to panic, she rushed out of her room. Running down the white, depressing halls, she tried to find the door out. She rushed past the other teens in there and eventually found the door. It was next to the front desk. The man working there had already started to call the security.

Vaggie pulled and pushed on the door, trying to get it to open but it was locked. The security ran up to her and tackled her, beating her with a stick. She was carried away from the door, screaming and crying. She just wanted out. She didn't want to live here any longer.

Vaggie was taken to another room where they put a straight jacket on her. She tried to bite their hands off but that only made it worse because they threw into the fucking assylum again. The stupid white, padded, walls greeted her. The last time she was there was when she had a "tantrum". She hated this. The jacket was super itchy and the room was too quiet. She needed to get out. Anything to escape this place. But nothing was there. Nothing to help her escape. She was alone again.

Carmilla woke up to Vaggie stirring in the hospital bed. She checked the time on her phone and it was just past midnight. Realizing the girl might be having a restless night, she ran her fingers through her hair, trying to comfort the girl. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to work because the girl woke up with tears running down her face and whimpering.

"Mija, what's wrong?" Carmilla whispered. Vaggie hugged her tightly.

"B-bad dweam," She whined.

Carmilla frowned, wishing she could do something to take this pain away.

"What was it about?"

"Mm, was in da bad hospital again..." She said. It was very scary and she didn't want to share anymore details. She was just glad Mama was with her now.

"Oh, Baby..." Carmilla kissed her forehead and hugged her. After a bit of cuddling, Vaggie seemed to calm down a bit. Carmilla had a few questions and decided it would be best to ask them now.

"Why did you go to the bad hospital, mija?" Carmilla asked. She needed to know if she was going to help her come over any trauma she may have from it.

Vaggied whimpered again and hesitated. She was a little nervous and scared to talk about it but eventually opened her mouth.

"Papa sent me aways too because. I fink da doctor said was autistic, but papa always said wetarded," Vaggie told her. She didn't like having to relive this but knew it would be best if she told her new mother this. (Btw, Vaggie died when Mental hospitals were still really bad, probably around the 60's-70's)

Carmilla's heart broke. She couldn't believe her father! Sending his kid away because she was autistic. And then calling his kid dumb? She wanted to cry just thinking about it. But she needed to stay strong for vaggie.

"Baby, there is nothing wrong with being autistic. It's not retarded either. You're just a little different from everyone else but that doesn't mean it's bad." Carmilla told her. She wanted vaggie to not be ashamed of the difference that she had.

"But den why papa call it wetarded?"

She sighed, not wanting to have to explain what a slur was to her mentally 2 year old.

"He wasn't being kind to you, sweetie. He- he called you dumb," she tried to tell the truth to her in the most friendly way she could think of.

Vaggie whimpered, upset that her father had been calling her that all those years. Maybe she was too dumb if she didn't understand what her father was calling her. She let herself get comforted by Carmilla for a bit until she let out a yawn.

"Wanna go back to sleep?" Carmilla asked. Vaggie nodded and snuggled up close to her.

Carmilla was glad they had this talk. Hopefully later, they could enroll vaggie in therapy or something. She needed someone to talk to about this. But for now, she would do her best to support her.

Hey, hi, it's me. This is the only place I feel really open about sharing things - but with the holidays and cold months coming up I know how hard it can be for people who are struggling with depression/ bi polar / familial trauma, etc. So here's this post to remind you (and me) that we'll be okay. You and me. We will be okay. We are still breathing, and with every breath we take, we still have a shot at living the lives we've dreamed of.

You see this tattoo? I got it as a reminder. Oh yeah, also it's a Dark Souls tattoo. It says "Don't You Dare Go Hollow".

My mom HATES it, but she has come to terms with how much I love this tattoo.

But anyways, I got this tattoo to remind myself to keep going. I got it about 1-2 years after I attempted to leave this earth on my own accord.

Background (skip if you want)

It was 2020. I had been a Veterinary Assistant (technician basically depending on what state you're in, TN treats the assistants the same as technicians). Clients were beating me down dude. I had phones thrown at me. I had death threats. I had people telling me I was a worthless piece of shit. I wanted to help these animal, but to do that I felt like I had to take and accept this slurry of abuse. I was unmedicated. I felt alone. I felt like I was nothing. An empty vessel. So one day I was supposed to go to work and we were working on a skeleton crew. 12 to 13 hours a day, days in a row, sometimes we would still have to go in on our off days. I couldn't do it anymore. I called out. I said I was sick. The response "I'm sorry you're sick, but that puts our team in a hard spot". That was it. The last straw.

I ended up going to the ER. I stayed there for a week. And thrn I ended up in a mental institution for 3 days. I was started on Zoloft.

All was well for a little bit. I stayed in my profession and decided to go to Tech School to brighten my future and make some more money.

It was. The most stressful time of my life. While I did leave my previous clinic I switched to ER and Specialty and lasted only about 6 months there. Before I realized I was spiraling again. I felt like a failure as a tech. I was worthless. I wasn't enough. I got let go. If I had been doing this for 5 years and could do this what fucking good was I? I saw the signs. I understood what was happening. I sought help and went to group therapy at a behavioral hospital.

It was amazing. The people I met, the counselors, I made so many friends and people who believed in me. We increased the dosage of my meds.

Now. I'm at a new clinic. I'm spiraling again. I'm in bad health. The doctors don't know what's wrong with me, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's stress from my career. I still come home sobbing. I come home feeling empty. No amount of medication can help free me from the unhappiness of my job. At one point I loved it. Somewhere along the way I realized that this isn't the life I want. I love your pets. I love my current clients. But I can't take the pressures of possibly getting hurt or sick. My back is messed up from this job, all of my joints pop and hurt, I have damaged and fractured my teeth from grinding them from stress. I am always tired. Working 10+ hours with just a one hour break isn't cutting it. I am miserable.

So.

I took the fucking leap guys. I'm doing it. I'm switching my career. I'm going back to my roots. I'm being creative and doing what. I started podcasting and realized how much I missed being myself. My VTNE is next month and I don't give a shit.

The game changer was really being inspired by the voice acting in Baulder's Gate 3. Hearing Neil Newbon's speech when he accepted his award made me cry. I took one of Steve Blums voice acting classes and . . . My God it was like finally hearing the affirmation I never got from my parents.

Back to the Tattoo

My point is, no matter how hard it gets, please allow yourself to enjoy the things you love and fuck what everyone else says. You do yourself a disservice if you don't give yourself a break. If you don't be true to yourself, if you don't strive for the life you've dreamed of.

It's why my tattoo is the Bonfire from Dark Souls. In your journey, you're going to fail multiple times. Sometimes, you get hung up on the same damn spot over and over and over again. Sometimes, you have to reface your enemies. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE BOSS BATTLES. You may fail thousands of times, but you know what you do? You go back to your bonfire- your safe place- and you heal up. You get the fuck back up the next day and do it again. Sometimes your game plan changes. You don't have to fight this boss today. You can fight him when you're ready. You don't have to make huge progress in the game today - you can dick around and look for good armor. You can change the whole path you take if you want to - it doesn't matter. In the end you will eventually accomplish what you've came to do.

I have really been fighting for my life lately, but I don't want to lose hope. If I give up, then I'll never see the end of the game or move on to the next one.

It's hard sometimes. But my favorite quote is:

"So if you ever find yourself in a slump, remember your purpose - whatever it may be - and never stop fighting for your goals, no matter how crazy they may seem. And don't you dare go hollow"

A Contrast of Prowls

The nice thing about writing Prowl (we do have more plans for her) in our orig cont Autosignet Cycle stuff is that we get to reclaim and enjoy the Prowl/Arcee dynamic as a t4t aesthetic crush thing in Honey I'm Cheering for You But No (might do more with that and have at least Aileron involved) with prowl being a sweetspark (who went from librarian to shipping logistics specialist and the last we saw of her she was unemployed trying to figure out her life and aesthetics with the help of Arcee, Aileron, Greenlight, Wheeljack, and Jazz) rather than a cop. Cops aren't really a thing that prewar Cybertron and the Autobots have in our orig cont stuff, instead they have collectivist public/community services and goods (and thus no poverty or ultra wealthy), deescalation and mental health specialists (helping with the mental health component), and at most bodyguards, intelligence analysts, and as a last resort the armed pacifist military (who really only get involved with fighting hegemonic militia/military threats). Seeing more gal Prowl content has led us to wanting to give her a bigger role later in the Autosignet Cycle during the Great War, specifically as a commando/espionage agent, who of course by this point is dating Jazz. :3

We say all this because after reading EXRID, Prowl comes off as having been absolutely awful to Arcee and we just can't enjoy the ship people have of the two because of the way they trust/don't trust each other and the tension there. Not saying people can't ship them ofc but it just really feels like a situation where Arcee had to find her way out of a toxic situation while rebuilding and redefining herself. Whereas Prowl only cared about her to the extent that she was able to perform a use to his dirty work and idea of what the Autobots should be, and did not want her breaking away from that, which she of course did. It just... reminds us of how trans women get tokenized by a violent hierarchic society that doesn't actually care about us when we're seen as useful to the military industrial complex, while still actively hurting us. We think that read is very much intentional by Barber even if he wasn't familiar with the history, he meant it for Arcee's story (see: OP #21 where Victorion astutely observes that Arcee wants to stop being a warrior, and Arcee says earlier during the Titans Return one-shot to Prowl that she doesn't really feel as into fighting to kill/battle as she used to be, while the OP series shows she still clearly enjoys sparring since she does that to honor Sideswipe's life and death) because of how opposed to her Cybertronian societal structures were. Spoilers but we're actually going to write Prowl as a bit of an antagonist at the end of Addendum because of all this and other things and will have a later Addendum Nexuses story that involves Arcee and her loved ones and friends taking down what's left of the New Institute in the Autobot fold under Prowl's command (still figuring out how that would look after the end of IDW1).

(As an aside, separate from this a dear trans gal friend of ours exposed us to a read of IDW1 Prowl and Tarantulas as trans gals who are deeply buried in the androcentrism they grew up with to the point of not really having words for their trans contexts during the canon run of the story. We might have that be something that is navigated later at least regarding Prowl, who btw is kinda remorseful about how she treated Arcee by the time we reach the not yet released end of Addendum, but she hasn't figured out fully how to treat her better.)

So yeah, stay tuned for that. :3 Actually have spoons to work more on Rekindling Flight because of this. BTW for those who don't know Prowl in our orig cont is primarily green and is chubby.

i’ve actually betrayed myself and continued to think about trickhawkrex (harbinger) and i hate to say it, but i’m either still extremely secretly (as in - stressor unknown to me) stressed OR i actually like thinking about them. or both! anyways. trick had top surgery for a flat chest because she’s cool like that, rex has a girlfriend who actually hangs out with them sometimes and hawks lost her tooth when she met trick & rex and still refuses to get it replaced, just to because she thinks the gap is cool.

SURAKSHA EP BY PINKSHIFT. MIGHT ALSO TO BE BLAME FOR THE MENTAL ILLNESS. their friendship is so profound and devoted (even if they totally suck at the start) and it makes me sob on floor crying. the songs from the EP can totally be applied to self-identity versus their surrounding society + upbringing in it versus cultural heritage. probably. i’ll word this in a clever way when i’m not pointing at them all and screaming INHERITED GUILT. me when i stare at this three and wonder to each what the word home means. oh, trick would be all careful and deliberate and artful about it, i love their kaleidoscopic heart. rex would feel torn in two and feel a grief.. most definitely. and hawk just wouldn’t know! btw. head in hands. to me by pinkshift is so trickhawkrex dynamic! their acceptance of each other and each other’s terrible self-complication. i reckon hawk might never have been able to forge such a strong bond with them if hawk hadn’t first totally ignored them because - if hawk had actually liked the two idiots - they’d probably have been insufferably faux with them. so oh! they’re all just incorrigible - i hate them!

quick interlude (lies) for the obnoxious parallels between fishtragedy and heronhum. which i may expand in later.. they’re divided into strictly static roles - aly, the sworn defender, lover, the follower. & sonya, the over-achiever, the loved, the leader. whereas on the other hand, for the heron and the hummingbird, they’re all that to each other? there is a freedom and a fluidity which they are afforded, that aly and sonya could never have. labels are not boxes for heronhum, but temporary descriptors, waxing and waning with time and context. but circumstances (and their own biases, this need to cling to the narrative) force aly and sonya to find their selves in clear definition. there is no room for fluidity, they don’t have the necessary time/space/resources to develop that (!!!) also needed to metion: both sonya and abyasa struggle with accepting their own humanity. both sonya and abyasa have this wariness of money. sonya clawing herself up from poverty and abyasa having it all from the start... they’re so polarising when put side by side, that the similarities they have are sooo GRNRGHR to me. they)re my false equivalence duo, who never actually interact closely within the plot but look. in a weird thematic way they do. is this too much? might retcon this.

So, I'm kind of an anomaly. I had originally attended Purdue University in West Lafayette for 2 semesters before getting dropped for academic deficiency. I had a lot of mental health issues and even some psychosis due to a medicine I was on. So, I just completed my second semester at Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne.

Basically, there's a lot of different majors to choose from. When I started college, my major was biology. I was told a general biology degree was best to start out with in case I decided to pursue a different science related interest. However, I did a lot of research and even had a zoom meeting with the head advisor for the Animal Science major at Purdue because I'm the type of person who needs a plan. So maybe I should just start at the beginning.

After being dropped, you can apply for readmission after 1 semester. For the Animal Science major pre vet pathway, you'd actually be attending the college of agriculture. The requirements for that are 12 credit hours in a single semester at a regionally accredited institution. You also can't have any individual grades less than a C-. There's also something about holds and then you have to write an essay, etc. I originally attended the fall semester of Ivy Tech, doing the Biology TSAP program, but I felt my advisor didn't listen to me and put me in Bio 105, a psychology class I already took and passed at Purdue, and a calculus class that was too advanced for me. Because I dropped the Calc class halfway through, I didn't have 12 hours, so I had to do the spring semester. That's when I did my own research, utilizing Purdues transfer equivalency guide, and communicating with the office of admissions. I took Bio 107, brief calculus, Chem 101, and anatomy and physiology I. As of this Tuesday, I passed every class with a C or better, so I qualify for readmission. I had my zoom meeting and we decided the best thing for me to do going forward is to take all the undergrad non Science classes at Ivy Tech (economics, speech, and she told me to take APHY 2 since I took the first class). Then, I'm taking all the general undergrad Science and math classes at PFW (Purdue Fort Wayne) to save money. That will include a physics class, some chemistry classes, and some biology classes. FINALLY, I will do the Animal science specific classes at Purdue West Lafayette. Those are the classes that specifically deal with animals. I also am doing an internship at our ER vet. The most important thing when applying to vet school is your experience.

Anyway, to answer your question, I'm not sure what a vet specific class is yet because I'm not there yet. It's a lot of general biology and chemistry and probably some Animal anatomy, nutrition, etc. And physics (gross). But chemistry and biology are very important, as you'll need them when youre working in the medical field due to anesthesia, pharmaceutical, etc. I would say the worst part is the chemistry and physics. Anything math related is a challenge, especially since chemistry is basically taking a lot of things that you've been taught in Algebra for years and throws it out the window.

Man, I wish. That is like...my favorite trope and I have a terrible time finding it, so most of my recommendations are "close, but not exactly".

The few instances I can think of off the top of my head are:

Vintage whump (depending on your age) Diagnosis Murder season 3 Episode 8: Jesse is sleep deprived and exhausted after a 48 hour shift, and his friends think he's hallucinating a dead man and try to get him to go home, but he refuses. Eventually, his boss drugs him to get him to at least sleep at the hospital, and my favorite part is that at the end, they think there's a murderer on the loose, and have to try and wake him, so he's pretty much passing out every time they stand still for more than 2 seconds while trying to get away from bad guys.

Unfortunately, this one is a female whumpee, but season 2 episode 9 of Outer Banks, Sarah is drugged and kidnapped by her stepmother (I recommend this episode if only because I am a vivid daydreamer and like to imagine a different character in her place)

(sort of counts) Season 1 episode 1 and 2 of Iron Fist. Danny is drugged by his childhood best friend at the end of episode 1 because she thinks he's delusional, and episode 2 is him forcibly restrained in a mental institution.

Around the World in 80 Days with David Tennant, season 1 episode 5 - Passepartout drugs and almost kills Phileas because he OD's him on tea meant to make him sleep (though he's not doing it to help Phileas)

I really wanna say there's something in season 3 part 2 of Teen Wolf where they drug Stiles, but that might be wishful thinking...

And this awesome fic for the Umbrella Academy: heart heart head by morimaru, specifically the last two chapters, where an alternate version of events in season 2 has Vanya drugging Five because she thinks he's delusional, injured kid who needs her help.

Feral by trufflemores for the Flash, an alternate ending to 2x23 (which, actually, the episode sort of counts for this too)

Peter Quill and the (Mostly) Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by rohanrider3 - one, this is just like, whump central for Peter Quill, but the type of scene you're looking for is chapter 36.

I wish I had more, because, like I said, this is honestly one of my favorite tropes of all time. And what's even more aggravating is that i know I'm missing one, because I can picture it, but I can't remember who the actors were in the scene - just that the person was drinking tea and got up to leave, only to to stumble and be caught by their friend, who's trying to calm them, and all the character can do is ask "what did you do?" until they pass out.

first of all, thank you! second of all, i will now get started on the theme songs. this will be a lot.

so. we have established that every season has a theme. btw the way i look at it is a little different than the way the creators do - according to rachel and aline the themes are repression, romance, revenge, and reckoning. which i also agree with, but that’s not exactly how i see it in my head. anyway let’s talk about how each theme relates to each theme song.

season 1 - denial so this one is very obvious. rebecca states that “it happens to be where josh lives but that’s not why i’m here”, and then goes on to insist she is not “the crazy ex girlfried”, and isn’t broken inside. so. very obvious denial. the backup singers calling her crazy are taking the form of the rest of the cast, but they are also very much the voices in her head. neither part of it is healthy - not rebecca’s denial, nor the way her subconscious, if you will, tries to make her confront that. because she’s right, that is a sexist term. that is an ableist term. and having a cartoon sun happily sing about how broken she is inside - that’s just her self hate talking. and then she says one of my favorite lines on the show: “the the situation’s a lot more nuanced than that”. and she is both right and wrong here! there’s no nuance in why she moved to west covina, it wasn’t a combination of reasons and circumstances - she ran into josh, and she moved there for him. but of course it is a lot more nuanced than that. just not in the way rebecca thinks it is.

season 2 - love + doubt “i’m just a girl in love / i can’t be held responsible for my actions / i have no underlying issues to address / i’m certifiably cute and adorably obsessed / they say love makes you crazy / therefore you can’t call her crazy / ‘cause when you call her crazy / you’re just calling her in love”  so in a way, the denial continues here. in a way, it’s even more prominent: the backup singers are on her side this time. but there is hesitance. rebeccca speaks for herself this time, she both raises and answers her concerns. who is calling her crazy? it’s not the cast this time. who is trying to hold her responsible for her actions? who is she defending herself to? who is telling her she has underlying issues to address? because it sure seems like it’s all coming from her. to me, this is the most unhinged song (and i say this very affectionately). everything about it feels so fundamentally wrong. her expressions throughout the number, the way the camera lingers after the song ends, for 3 whole seconds! that’s 10% of the song! and it’s giving her face plenty of time to go through some very interesting expressions. it’s about the comedic timing, but it’s also about the awkwardness, about the way she seems to ask herself throughout the song if she really believes what she is saying. and it all comes crashing down and becomes painfully obvious in the season finale, when we find out these were the exact words her mother used in court to get the judge to send rebecca to a mental institution rather than jail. heartbreaking.

season 3 - crazy one of the final lines of dialogue in season 2, between rebecca and her father, is: “youre crazy”, “little bit”. and this perfectly leads us to season 3. if i had to summarize rebecca’s mindset in the begging of s3 in one sentence, it would be “oh you want crazy? i’ll give you crazy”. and she spends this season trying to unpack what the word “crazy” means to her. this word has been thrown at her her whole life, but what does it really mean? and this is of course reflected in the theme song, in the form of 4 characters, all played by rebecca (that represent 4 musical genres bc this show is brilliant), singing about what being crazy is. and then they all sing together: “you do / you don’t / wanna be crazy / and you don’t / you do / wanna be crazy / to clarify yes / no / on the crazy / we hope this helps”. and they cut to rebecca, watching this music video on her phone while sitting on the toilet, visibly confused. what a great summary of this season. 

then it does get a lot more nuanced than that. and rebecca is still in conflict with what the word “crazy” means to her, but this time from the angle of someone who has just received a personality disorder diagnosis. and the song is still relevant; but it gets a whole new meaning.

season 4 - rebecca “meet rebecca / she's the coolest girl in the world / wait, wrong rebecca /  it's this one over here / she's spunky, she's sweet, a generous friend / oh, but there she looks kinda mean / okay, she's snarky, sarcastic, and a ... what? / you know we're not really seeing a common theme / meet rebecca / she's too hard to summarize / so let's go back to other rebecca” this season is about rebecca. finally finding herself. coming to terms with the parts of her that are harder to come to terms with, trying to make amends with the people she’s hurt. sometimes failing. trying to become a better person, sometimes failing. trying to figure out what it is that she wants. who is she really. recovering, but figuring out who she is outside of the context of her mental health. who she is, outside of being crazy. and this is the only theme song where the word “crazy” isn’t used. and it’s messy, and it’s hard, and it’s imperfect. it’s a lot more nuanced than that. she’s too hard to summarize, as is every real person (”other rebecca” obviously doesn’t exist, and her one-liners that change every episode, besides being hilarious, serve to showcase that she is not a real person). and rebecca will always be self-centered, and impulsive, and a little annoying. she is not going to turn into this perfect, uncomplicated character. because she is a person. (side note: i Love how in the series finale white josh still doesn’t like her. but that’s a different point). but she is her. she is still growing, and changing, and learning about herself; but now it’s her story to tell. she has a stronger sense of self. she doesn’t try to live her life as a fairytale, or a romcom, or a revenge movie; because life doesn’t make narrative sense. and she doesn’t need the theme songs, or the musical numbers, to cope with her life anymore. she can express herself now. she can do what she is really passionate about, in front of everyone. she can showcase all of it, she can show it to her best friend and have her tell her how incredible she is. and she doesnt feel the need to fit it all into one theme song. and the songs aren’t being written anymore - she writes them.

and “this is a song i wrote”.

Three years older than him, was presumed dead but was actually in a mental institution, put there by his own parents after a car accident when he was a baby caused him brain damage and turned him mentally unstable. Which literally makes no sense, because how did they know he was unstable, he was literally a baby. How did that work.

Anyway, Deadman possesed him for a bit for some reason and also would later die after taking a bullet meant for Bruce. Fun!

It made March realize Bruce was Batman, though. After being killed by the talon and revived, March realized the Court had betrayed him, so he went to a meeting of theirs and poisoned their drinks. He would also do a whole thing with Cluemaster and some other minor villains to try and kill Batman, to no avail.

In their "final" confrontation, Lincoln March, in a modernized talon suit, met face-to-face with Batman and revealed a lot of things I didn't really care much about but they're basically what I just told you. Oh, and also that his real name is Thomas Wayne, Jr., and he is Bruce Wayne's younger brother. Batman refuses to believe this is true, they fight, building goes boom, Batman escapes, his opponent doesn't, no body is found, you know the drill. Because of his regenerative capabilities we could never be sure if Lincoln March would return he did return but he wasn't that important ngl. He also used the alias Owlman (because of course he did).

We can never be truly sure if he's truly Bruce's brother without a DNA test, but many of the facts of his story do make sense if we assume Martha and Thomas lied. Also, it is basically stated that Bruce actually believes Lincoln is his brother, so there's that.

Btw, there's another Lincoln March in the TV Series Gotham Knights, but he's never confirmed to be Bruce's brother or to even believe he is. And the show was cancelled, so I guess will never know. I'm not gonna count him lmao, but still wanted to mention him.

And that would basically be all the possibly canon siblings. For a time DC played with the idea that Bane and Bruce were brothers with the same father, Thomas Wayne, but at the end it was proven that wasn't the case. So there's basically nothing more main continuity can give us.

Date of first appearance: January, 1994

Older sister of Bruce in the Batman/Dark Joker: The Wild universe. She is the oldest child of two sorcerers named Majister and Lilandra who created her in the hopes that she would be able to defeat their greatest enemy, the Dark Joker. But they loved her too much to finish the ritual, so they decided to try again with another son, Bruce. They were murdered shortly after, so Bruce, turned into a wild beast, grew up in solitude as an untamed monster living in the wilderness and feeding off animals. Saressa found him in the woods and taught him what she knew so he could live up to his destiny. Shortly afterwards she basically faced the Dark Joker so he could kill her so her blood could be used to finish the ritual or some shit. The artstyle of this book is so inconsistent, I swear, every fucking panel she appears in she looks like a different character. You'd think this was a group project.

Thomas Wayne Jr. (again)

First appearance: JLA: Earth-2

Date of first appearance: September, 2000

Thomas Wayne, Jr., alias Owlman, is a leading member of the Crime Syndicate of Amerika (yes, with a K) of the Antimatter Universe. He is his world's evil counterpart of Batman, and probably one of the most well known versions of Thomas Jr. He was the elder son of Thomas and Martha, and the older brother of Bruce. After his whole family was murdered he decided to become a vigilante, but instead of fighting colorful rogues he decided to use his vast resources to take over Gotham City's underworld.

It would be years later that he discovered that his father, Thomas, survived the attack that killed his mother and younger brother, and decided to dedicate his life to killing Owlman. Awkward indeed.

When the Crime Syndicate began kidnapping people from our main Earths for some reason I can't remember, our Justice League (Batman included) were sent to retrieve the kidnapped. Thomas Jr. along with some others were banished to a prison dimension. And that's the last we ever heard of him.

Thomas Wayne Jr. (Electric boongaloo)

Fist appearance: Justice League Vol 2 #23

Date of first appearance: October, 2013

Called Owlman in his universe, Earth 3, he was the older brother of Bruce (three's a pattern), and also made Alfred kill his whole family due to his belief that his parents were wasting their fortune. At first, he didn't want to kill Bruce, but after seeing the boy trying to back away from being complicit in the murder of his own parents, he killed him too. He used his vigilante persona and vast resources untill basically the whole city was his. Even so, the death of his brother still haunted him. Fun!

While at a circus, Thomas met his own version of Richard Grayson, who he saw fit to replace the hole Bruce had left in his life after he killed him. He murdered Dick's family and used the boy's trauma to manipulate him into his perfect brother. He convinced him to be his sidekick, Talon, and when Dick was close to finding out who was the true responsible for the death of his parents.... he told him himself. Dick took the news super well, so he decided to find and kill the Joker,who in this reality is a hero, in order to demonstrate his superiority. Dick was killed, so Thomas was alone once again.

But that's basically the prequel to a whole Prime Earth dimension hoping comic run that frankly, was kinda boring. Still, the basic premise of the character is incredibly solid, no wonder he's one of the more popular versions of him.

Thomas Elliot

First appearance (as a brother of Bruce): Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman: Hush #1

Date of first appearance (as a brother of Bruce): January, 2021

When the Elliots and Waynes went out to watch the "Mask of Zorro" together with their sons, Martha and Thomas were shot in front of their son while walking through an alley. The Elliots, after witnessed this, decided to take Bruce in. Bruce however grew increasingly unstable due to the trauma and had to be admitted to a mental asylum. So Thomas saw an opportunity and basically killed his own parents, took over Wayne Enterprises and also became a senator. Good things didn't last for him though, after all this story was called Batman: Hush for a reason. I don't think he's much older than Bruce, if not the same age.

Samantha Thomas Wayne

First appearance: Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler, Season 2, "The Lion and Lamb"

Date of first appearance: April 11, 2021

Older sister of Bruce Wayne, we'll never know by how much because the show she was born in, Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler, was cancelled, but she's at least five years older than Bruce.

Having grown up in London with her mom Martha (government agent) and her father Thomas (former agent, now a doctor), Samantha, or Sam, spends most of her time with her nanny Mary Pennyworth (who is Alfred Pennyworth's mother) and a housekeeper, Gladys. She had a cute relationship with Alfred, but I doubt will ever see more of her again. A shame.

Kal-El (not to be confused with Clark Kent)

First appearance: Dark Knights of Steel #1

Date of first appearance: January, 2022

He is Bruce's older half-brother. His parents fled the destruction of Krypton while Lara was pregnant. When they reached the Earth of the universe of Dark Knights of Steel, Lara gave birth shortly after. His parents became close advisors and friends to King Thomas and Queen Martha.

When Kal-El was still a baby Martha had a bastard child with Jor-El, Bruce. Kal-El always thought of Bruce as a younger brother, which of course he did this is Tom Taylor we're talking about here. Kal-El, Bruce and their younger sister Zala grew up in the castle together.

After Thomas was murdered and Martha was mortally wounded, she begged with her dying breath for Jor-El and Lara to rule, which is kind of a dick move if you ask me. After Jor-El told Bruce he was his father, Bruce refused to claim the throne despite the Els encouraging him to, as he believed a bastard could not be king. So, Jor-El and Lara became the rulers of the land and Kal-El became the heir. This caused a rift between them. Or something. I never finished the run, I just don't like Tom Taylor's style.

Clark Kent (not to be confused with Kal-El)

First appearance (as a brother of Bruce): World's Finest #172

Date of first appearance (as a brother of Bruce): December, 1967

In this imaginary story, after Bruce's parents are murdered he's adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent so that Clark can have a brother around the same age as him (how did the Kents manage to adopt a millionaire orphan from another city without even being foster parents in the eyes of the law? Who knows!). On this Earth, called Earth 172, Bruce Kent grew up as a grade A student while focusing his attention on science, criminology and fighting techniques (the usual). On his teenage years, Bruce created a masked identity to fight crime, Batboy, and learned the secret identity of his brother, Superboy. So they became an unstoppable duo.

As an adult, Bruce Kent received the inheritance from his parents and moved back to Wayne Manor, this time with the Kent Family (who had the inheritance before this? Who knows!). As the Kent brothers, their activities became notorious as the famous team of Superman and Batman. They were eventually confronted by Lex Luthor, who kidnapped the Kents and killed them before Batman could save them. When Clark returned to Gotham, he learned about the tragedy and, in order to help Bruce, who was going down a grief spiral, he decided the healthiest choice was to take his brother to therapy.

Who am I kidding he took him to the fucking 30th Century and asked the Legion (who I believe all have superpowers) to make Batman a legionnaire. Batman. No powers Batman. That Batman. Meanwhile, Clark stayed comfortably in his own time and remained the protector of Gotham, while Bruce did the same thing but time-displaced. Because that's how you help someone who has lost his parents to brutal murder twice. Clark, what the fuck is inside your brain I wonder.

Joseph Wayne

First appearance: Batman/Lobo #1

Date of first appearance: April, 2000

Twin of Bruce, so basically the same age. When their father and mother died, Joe Chill kidnapped Joseph (for some reason). Bruce vowed to find him or something. Whatever Joe did, Joseph went insane and became the Joker, while Bruce became Batman.

Scarface set a bounty on the Joker (for some reason), and Lobo himself came to Earth to collect it (for some reason), but the Joker paid him a larger sum to discredit Batman and destroy his reputation before killing him (for some reason). Basically, half of what happens in Batman/Lobo is nonsensical, and the other half is stupid. It's a very unserious one-shot, with a peculiar artstyle.

Rochelle Wayne

First appearance: Batman: Reign of Terror

Date of first appearance: February, 1999

Younger sister of Bruce that you already know of! She doesn't do much in this short story, but her personality shines though every panel she's in, and when Bruce was caught in a trap set up by the Committee led and was about to face the guillotine (we are in France, after all), she was there to rescue him! The art is beautiful and the plot, though simple, is quite fun to read, though it's very clear it's american propaganda. She's never called Robin in the text, but she's obviously inspired by them, at the very least her costume. I wished more people knew about her. She's the reason I found your post, btw, I was looking through the Rochelle tags lmao.

Unnamed baby sister

First appearance: Batman: Dark Knight of the Round Table #1

Date of first appearance: December, 1998

Unnamed baby sister of Bruce. Bruce is like nine or ten years older than her, give or take. I wished she had a name. Her mom's name is Isadora, so maybe that could be hers too? But Thomas and Bruce don't share the same name or anything in the story, augh. Nothing's confirmed and she dies super quickly. Sucks :(

Zala Jor-El

First appearance: Dark Knights of Steel #2

Date of first appearance: February, 2022

She is Bruce's younger half-sister. She was born on Earth of Dark Knights of Steel. Her parents being royal advisors to King Thomas and Queen Martha made it so that her and her brother Kal-El were raised in the castle alongside Martha's bastard son with Jor-El, Bruce. She and her brother didn't know that last part, of course.

After Thomas and Martha were murdered, Jor-El and Lara became the rulers of the kingdom, making Zala a princess. She's also dating the Amazonian Diana, so that's cool. Shes basically a Kara clone with slightly different name so they could make her a lesbian. Because even in Elseworlds, Tom Taylor DC is a coward.

Dexter Dent

First appearance: Flashpoint: Batman - Knight of Vengeance #1

Date of first appearance: August, 2011

Even a younger adopted brother of Bruce. Son of Harvey and Gilda in the Flashpoint Timeline, he's taken in by a Batman Thomas Wayne after the death of his parents. He had a twin sister who was killed by his mom, Gilda.

So yeah, technically a sibling, even though Flashpoint Bruce is six feet under. I really like the comic he's from, I think it was a very fun read.

Also technically speaking, because Alfred (in the Mainstream Universe) took in Bruce as his legal charge, Julia Pennyworth would be Bruce's adopted sister. Fun!

So yeah, that would be all the siblings that I know of! Half of them are Thomas Jr.
