Did some fun little redraws I’ve been meaning to do pretty much since I read book 14…. But it’s ok I did them now!!!

The queens are technically a redraw of when they get introduced in book 3 but I didn’t draw the scene so it’s a redraw but not really. And Ghost is just my wof sona?? Maybe idk I like them tho.

This was a scene I just thought was really funny and wanted to do a take on. I also wanted to draw Sunny bc I don’t think I’ve ever drawn her before so yk why not.

I thought it was funny and wanted to draw Lynx giving a massive side eye to Snowfall. All of their interactions in this book are fun and I wish there was more of it, honestly one of my favorite books, seeing everything from basically an outsiders perspective was really fun and Snowfall’s character development was just *chef’s kiss*.

Again another scene I thought was haha funny. I honestly just wanted to draw a freaked out Moon, which happens pretty damn often in these books like give my girl a break. I really wanna know whose brain she was in at the moment and what they really said to get her freaked out like that. I’m just curious….

you could argue that chenle is the most extroverted of the group alongside giselle. loves it when the gc is active and tries his best to be there to contribute to whatever is going on (even if he has no clue what’s going on). plays intramural bball at the gym with his friends and cohort when it’s off-season, and then plays for the team when the season starts. generally just a ball of sunshine. everyone loves him.

It’s Bive time! I’m kidding of course, Bive time is all the time, it never ends.

If you want to hear my inane ramblings about her feel free to subject yourself to that for whatever reason btw.

Okay so Bive is a really interesting character to me, and thus I have a lot of interpretations on her character which are probably very unoriginal. The way I draw her is mostly based off of the vrchat avatar of her that I use because I just, I love how shaped she is, she’s such a silly. It’s also my body type, so she has some pudginess going on in my vision even if she is a sentient hairball (that’s also why I gave her a double chin). Actually on the topic, I’ve seen so much diverse fan art of her when it comes to body types and shapes which is always such a joy to see!

I don’t know what’s confirmed or not but I imagine that she has schizophrenia, which is something I hardly ever see represented in fiction, and in fact it’s a disorder I still see is made fun of to this day which is honestly heartbreaking to think about. So even if it isn’t canon, if people with schizophrenia can relate to her and feel seen through her, I find that to be a wonderful thing! I also headcanon her as having AuDHD, mostly due to her dialogue about sensory issues and needing to constantly move, and paired with the schizophrenia I imagine she has some type of generalized anxiety disorder.

This is probably just projection on my part but I also headcanon her as always wearing more modest attire, like the oversized trench coat and maybe turtleneck sweaters or large hoodies in more casual settings. Personally as someone with anxiety if I wear something too revealing or form-fitting I feel extremely uneasy and have to cover up as quickly as possible. But she also doesn’t wear pants as far as I know so idk how well that headcanon holds up. Also she bites when she gets affectionate. And idk how canon it is that Bive doesn’t shower as often as she probably should (executive dysfunction can kiss my ass) but I do think it checks out with what all I’ve said here already, but also because of that I imagine she’s very greasy most of the time.

ABSOLUTELY! Decided to throw in everyone from god games as well as Hades, so this got a lil longer than expected lol. I always love doing these, & the gods are such fun characters that I’m dying to see more of! & of course I bully my faves

& Hermes is so iconic, I love his shrill cackle, that man loves a good laugh & never really holds back!

We also kinda got a canon laugh from Calypso when she giggles right after saying goddesses can’t die. I think she has a very light & airy laugh, almost like the twinkling of a bell. Very cute & feminine

Likewise, we heard a bit of what Aeolus sounds like, but that’s more of a snide, condescending laugh that she likes to use when toying with someone. Her more genuine laugh is higher pitched & more of a giggle

For everyone else, I’m going off of pure vibes

I think Athena tries not to laugh because she has a badass image to maintain, & tbh most of the other gods aren’t that funny, or at least they don’t appeal to her sense of humor. She likes more clever & dry witty comedy, which is probably why Ody’s jokes work well on her. He likes to use a lot of fun word play & his timing & physical comedy is just perfect, & catches her off guard enough to draw out a real laugh. She laughs with her full chest, it’s loud & is honestly such a bright, happy sound, probably because it’s so rare to hear. Much to her chagrin, she snorts when she laughs hard enough. When she’s trying to mask her laugh it gets quicker & higher pitched, & she usually tries to muffle it behind her hand

Apollo’s laugh is pretty similar to Hermes, but it’s a bit deeper & not as erratic & sounds like he has more control over his voice. Idk it probably sounds so pretty & smooth, almost like his laugh alone is a song & more than a few gods accuse him of faking it because it just sounds a lil too “perfect.” If you really get him going tho it does tend to take on a more unhinged & frantic pitch, & it gets real hard to tell the difference between the 2

I just know Hephaestus has a really deep & rich laugh, but he doesn’t laugh often. He’s pretty serious & he doesn’t always get every joke tossed his way, but when he does, it’s this really deep, amused chuckle that slowly gets louder the longer he laughs

Aphrodite has the prettiest laugh, it’s not as high pitched as you’d expect from her & almost has a purr to it, but that could just be her infectious, bubbly giggles

So uh, I love Ares way more than I was expecting to from his part in gg & I’m gonna simp for a sec cause I can. But Ares actually loves to have a good time & let loose! His version of that may look a lil more bloody, but he still enjoys a good time! He can still laugh & tell jokes! So I think he wouldn’t bother holding back & just belts out this deep belly laugh that can make you jump if you’re not expecting it. Funnily enough, I think he also would snort a lot when laughing, so maybe it’s a war god thing lmaoooo. He’s also prone to laugh when he’s sparring or in the middle of a fight, & that’s more of a different sound. He gets this crazed look in his eye & his laugh raises an octave & gets a lil faster until it’s this really menacing, crazed cackling that is just as scary as it is endearing

Hera doesn’t laugh as much as she used to, but when she does, it’s this sly sounding, amused chuckle. Even when she’s being sincere, it lowkey sounds like she’s making fun of you. If something actually gets her going, she’ll throw her head back & her laugh actually sounds authentic, but it still has a more smooth, controlled tone much like Apollo

Now for the big 3

Hades doesn’t laugh much, obvi, but when he does, it’s this really low rumbling from deep within his chest, & you don’t really think he’s laughing until you see his shoulders shaking & notice the smile beneath his beard. But it something’s legit funny, he’ll let out this hearty laugh & lean back & will either hug his stomach or slap a knee

Oh Poseidon, you’re gonna fucking hate me for this. But he usually has this calm, really snide snicker/chuckle he does when he’s mocking someone which is like all the time. It’s such a smug sound you just want to slap the shit outta him because it’s so obvious he’s laughing at YOU! But his real laugh has a rich tenor to it, & is way louder than he’d like. & if something really gets him laughing, it starts to get higher pitched before it starts to morph into more of a bubbly, gurgling sound until it sounds like he’s laughing underwater

It’s no surprise that the thunder bringer himself has a downright booming laugh that can shake the heavens themselves if he really lets himself go, but much like his bitch of a brother, he only really does that if he’s laughing at someone. Otherwise, it’s still really deep & loud, it just doesn’t have as much bass to it. If you listen for it, you can hear claps of thunder when he lets out unbridled belly laughs, & when he’s just chuckling you can hear a buzzing static sound like lightning

Hi! I was looking through Magica De Spell’s Wikipedia page today and it says that Magica has a sister named the Wicked Witch of the West, who has children named Witch Child and Warlock. I couldn’t find any information of them online so I was wondering if you knew anything about them, if they exist at all.

If they don’t, do you think you could instead do a character post on Magica’s cousin Matilda? Your old family tree posts helped me a lot in understanding Duck lore.

Aw I'm glad those posts help!! I'm still down for making them 'cause it's a lot of fun for me to find old comics and do some research.

So before I talk about Witch Child, I wanna clarify some things that are relevant to the character.

This is another case where Americans can't stop themselves from taking "sister" and "aunt" literally. Aunt can be used to refer to any older woman in someone's life. Sister is frequently used in stories about witches (because a coven is like a sisterhood/sorority, it's a whole thing). Neither imply blood relation! Even "cousin" is often used to refer to friends/neighbors. Different cultures and languages treat words like that very differently than Americans do.

Witch Child, Warlock, & Witch of the West are all from a very specific time period of Brazilian duck comics where Magica and Madam Mim (from The Sword and the Stone) were living together/dating/???? and interacted with other Disney movie characters. In this specific timeline, the ducks live amongst regular humans which is very strange but you just gotta accept it. Magica also lives in Duckburg I think? It seems like she and Scrooge just run into each other randomly so I believe she and Mim have a house in Duckburg for whatever reason

"Witch Child" is not her name and I don't know why she's referred to like that on InDucks/other wikias. Her name in Brazil (where she was created) is Magali, in Italian she's Maghetta/Maghina/Streghella (inconsistent names in translations are very common), and in French she's Seraphine. None of her comics have an official English publication so again idk where "Witch Child" comes from! But I'll probably refer to her as Streghella for the remainder of this post 'cause it's easier that way.

OKAY now for details:

In Streghella's first comic, Magica gets a letter from a friend asking her and Madam Mim to babysit her friend's daughter. Streghella is whiny and rude and a troublemaker. She ruins a magical career opportunity for Magica and it's pretty funny

Then there's a whole bunch of comics where she just appears for no reason, making trouble. She's a surprisingly powerful witch but she just loves to piss everyone off, especially Mim.

Another important note about Streghella - she was only really drawn by two comic artists during the height of her appearances (in the 70s, pretty much). The above drawings were all done by an artist named Jim Fletcher. But she had a lot of appearances drawn by an artist named Glenn Schmitz, who drew her completely differently.

I don't know if I would've realized these were even the same character if it wasn't documented lol but y'know they didn't have the same resources in the 70s that we have now so they did what they could.

Anyway, from what I can tell her personality stayed mostly in tact through most of these comics. Whiny, stuck-up, nosy, but also very funny and magically powerful. She would occasionally interact with Scrooge or HDL but mostly her appearances were in Magica and Mim comics.

Oh there's one comic where she looks like this for some reason?

BUT THEN what's interesting is Streghella making a few appearances years after her comics all came out. First there was one comic in 1995, then twice in 2011 and once more in 2016. There's also apparently a 2020 appearance but I couldn't get my hands on it :(

In her 1995 appearance she looks really cute but her personality is, well. Personality-wise she's completely unrecognizable. Now Magica makes comments about Streghella always trying to be good and getting in trouble for being good all the time.

(Ignore the bad english translation I was just popping pages into google translate lol)

She's still a troublemaker in the sense that she tries to trick Magica and Mim into consuming a potion that will make them good, kind people. But then the comic ends with Magica doing something nice by choice and it's cute but yeah the character is nothing like her original self.

Her first 2011 comic is where she...wants to go to a Jonas Brothers concert and chats with April May & June online to try and make it happen. Something like that. It follows along with "Streghella is too kind and Magica tries to teach her to be evil" from the '95 comic, but for some reason the colorist made Streghella a brunette. Idk! They also forgot her iconic hat!

Next 2011 comic has Huey Dewey and Louie accidentally traveling to a magic academy. It's very Harry Potter-y? I guess? Streghella is friendly and does some magic. You can tell it's her 'cause of the pigtails and bows. But still no hat :(

In her 2016 appearance, she's been reading April May and June's blog and wants to help them with some problem. Magica is like no be mean and Streghella's like no I want to help! You get it.

This comic is pretty fun. Magica turns herself into Grandma Duck and puts a truth potion into some cake Streghella bakes for the Duck Family and gets a bunch of secrets out of them.

There's also a joke at the end where Daisy accidentally reveals Brigitta's age to everyone (we don't get to see it) but according to this comic, Brigitta is much older than she looks lol Not that we didn't already know that.

Anyway so that's all there is to know about Witch Child/Streghella. She's cute!

Warlock time!

Warlock is Streghella's brother. He's only in four comics total and they're mostly very early comics - his real name is just whatever Streghella's name was at the time but with an -o at the end. If she's Maghetta, he's Maghetto. If she's Maghina, he's Maghino. You get it. He'd probably be Streghello if he had a named appearance more recently.

His personality is not very distinct from Streghella's. He's also magical and a troublemaker. In his first comic he arrives in the mail, in a, like...little jail cell? Crate? Idk? And then Magica and Mim eventually box both kids up into the crate and ship them away.

(Yes that's supposed to be him, apparently.)

He appears in the magic school comic as well...

And that's it! There's not really anything else to know about him.

Last but not least...the Witch of the West! Actually, that's a lie. Least. She appears just the one time. And I'm gonna be honest. I don't think she's the biological mother of these bird children.

'Cause yeah she's a human witch. Idk if she's from another Disney property or if she's supposed to be the witch from the Wizard of Oz. Idk man. But Streghella calls her "mama" and she refers to Streghella as her daughter so I'll take those ones literally.

There's nothing much to say about her - she doesn't have a name and all she does is drop her kid off with Magica and then reappear when Mim and Magica threaten to lock Streghella inside a bottle.

NOW if you're wondering...how do these characters connect to the previously known characters that are related to Magica De Spell?

They do not! The fact that Streghella has made a few recent appearances means you can decide how you want her to fit in, but trying to blend these different canons will not be seamless. You just gotta take what you like. Streghella frequently refers to herself as Magica's apprentice so you can always take that route, too.

Aaaaaaaaaand since you asked, I'm happy to talk about Matilda! God there are too many Matildas in duck comics. I have never met a woman named Matilda in my life. It's fine.

Matilda De Spell (not an official name but I call her that anyway) - Magica's teenage cousin! Is she actually, biologically, Magica's cousin? Probably not. But it's fiiiiiiine.

I did actually scanlate all three comics that Matilda appears in, so you can read them if you'd like:

There's not really anything to know about her outside of these comics. She's tomboyish, spunky, fun. Really looks up to Magica. I think their dynamic is fun and I always like to see more teen characters lol I think I've portrayed Matilda as Amelia De Spell's younger sister but that's definitely not canon, just me trying to stick the blondes together.

Anyway sorry this ended up being such a long response. I haven't had the opportunity to research random duck characters in a while. I hope this has the answers you wanted :)

Wow you guys really seemed to like the steampunk AU, that post got way more attention than I was expecting, so here's some more information and stuff:

-The world is still like a videogame that they got trapped in but now it’s a steampunk adventure-y type game with circus elements 

-The adventures are probably a bit different

-They’re probably more like, fantasy adventure video game style things with like puzzles and fighting? Idk I'm not a big gamer I've never actually played any steampunk video games. What are those like?

-Instead of circus tent, there is a big wagon thingy that I'll draw eventually

-there's still not much of a story and I'm not sure If there'll ever be

-I'd also kinda want to make some mini comics for this au but I suck at coming up with ideas :/

Pomni:  

-She likes to craft things

-friends with Gangle and Ragatha

-still very anxious but less anxious then normal Pomni?

-has a very logical mind and is good at puzzling things together but also doesn’t do well under pressure and typically panics in stressful moments where these skills might be useful

-She can play the flute because flutes are good, they are the best instrument. (I am totally not biased just because I play the flute in marching band)

-My headcanon for regular Pomni is that she’s less anxious than she initially is in the pilot after getting used to things, like, beyond the anxiety, her actual personality is very cheery and friendly, also very logical, because idk it just fits her somehow? So yea, that headcanon also applies to this au 

-but of course she is still an absolute nervous wreck because yes

-How else is she supposed to react in this situation

-also look at those fingerless gloves I want those

-the gears in her eyes turn when she is thinking

Gangle:

-Also likes crafting things

Ok so apparently I’m in the mood to draw Ghirahim rn

I feel like his final form deserves some more pizzaz you know? Tho I do understand why he doesn’t wear any clothes in his final form. I think it’s cool how he’s so emotionally out there but his final form doesn’t have any fancy clothes while Fi is more emotionally cut off but she has fancy sleeves and high heels and whatever. Buuuuuut

I thought it’d be cool to make his outfit look a bit more like the sword? His body looks more like the blade itself while the handle (I forget what it’s called) looks more like his clothes. I have mixed feelings about the colors and the design on the collar thing? I wanted it to be spiky but it ended up looking goofy af so… oh well.

Buuut this might be an au, not really a redesign for skyward sword but a separate thing entirely. Idk I don’t express my love for Ghirahim often but I think he’s so fun and he’s fun to draw! Except those diamonds. Those suck man.

disclaimer: i’m just speaking from my own experiences as someone with adhd and this can apply to ANYONE! but speaking from experience it’s nice to have things broken down and simplified cause often times i can over complicate something very natural and easy and it can become a chore so why not both keep myself on track and share my knowledge!

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷   what’s the easiest and simplest way to manifest?

affirming. i am a FIRM believer of that and have been since childhood because it’s something that’s so natural to you that most times you do it subconsciously! as a kid i had certain adults around me make me say affirmations DAILY and looking back i realized why!

repetitiveness will always equal to success, and with adhd it can be daunting and also all around frustrating to focus in on desired thoughts. some tips that i think help is writing and speaking, writing your affirmations down helps engrave it into your skull more in my opinion and speaking things into existence can never go wrong. you do it anyway.

if you’re trying to focus on self concept and one of your affirmations are “i’m deserving of my desires” it can sometimes feel like your brain will purposefully do everything in its power to focus on all but that sentence, telling yourself out loud to stop and then saying the affirmation is something that has helped loads. any this sounds silly but if i’m having a day where i’m really tweaking out i’ll envision my desired thought quite literally beating down the negative thought like… i’ll imagine a fat ass fist pounding down on it and it helps i stg

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷   have direct guidelines and influences!

write down exactly what you want and who you wanna be, and it’s nothing wrong with taking inspo. idk if this is all ppl with adhd but i take things very literal so consuming techniques and other ppls rules can sometimes mess with what i know works for me and i start to go back and forth and confuse myself, and confusion is already common enough with adhd i fear. your aren’t OBLIGATED to take what everyone says into account you’re just observing and plucking what sticks so make your own guide.

i have a journal specifically for this and ONLY this. and i make it as simple as possible, the affirmations are simple, the goals are direct and short, and i make a mini list of my core inspirations and what about them i want to have part of my reality.

this may appeal to a more creative collective but something that i do that keeps me saturated in the head space in drawing/animating and the sims. idk if ppl have spoke abt this before and i wouldn’t doubt it but drawing/animating yourself in your dr is so yummy or creating a damn save file of your dr in the sims? you can make lore, your dream wardrobe, your desired appearance, dream home/apartment, partner, job literally give yourself the clearest and most visual and interactive way of helping you develop and get a clear understanding of your dr. AND you’ll be more than likely be spending long periods of time on it which means you’ll be thinking about it longer so it’ll be easier to focus on.

someone had to think of tumblr and focus on the reality of it existing before it existed. it sounds corny but sometimes the most obvious statement is what needs to be heard, that’s why we’re constantly telling ppl to “be yourself” it’s like.. duh? but you’re quite literally conditioned after a certain age to NOT be yourself and sometimes that cliche yet simple reminder is what’s needed.

someone had to think of hello kitty before she became a reality, someone had to think of a building layout before conveying the idea to someone to help them make it a reality, you had to imagine an outfit before you put it together and was able to see it in your 3d. and when your mind is focused on a specific stream of thought patterns new ideas will shove themselves in and that’s what’ll get you to make the next decision to get closer and closer or just having these desired thoughts raise your vibrations making you vibrate on the same frequency as your desires.

the way i’m explaining it may come off as vague i’m not sure but truly simplifying it as much as possible makes it easier to digest bc again, manifesting should be and IS natural and easy. also catching yourself and being aware how you speak can help reshape your mind.

this is actually so sweet tysm for this question, i love my gals & don’t feel like i get to talk about them much!!

might be a bit long so i’ll put it under the cut

for my fem!losers designs, i took inspiration from the movies, other artists’ fem losers designs, & even some fanfics. i looked at a bunch of things & sketched a bunch before i came to what their designs are currently. & their designs are still changing, i’m always tweaking what they look like, but they’ve stayed relatively the same since i started drawing them as girls back in 2021. it’s mostly just finding a mix of making them look like their film counterparts, taking my own creative liberties, & just what seems right

as for more specifics, some of the designs just felt right & others i have a lot more hcs & reasons for why they look the way they do. for bill, mike, & ben, i don’t have a ton of hcs atm for why i designed them the way i did, they just felt right. bill seems like a short haired girl & she doesn’t seem like a huge dress girl. mike seems like she’d have big curls-that she always keeps back- & is more about practicality than style (tho bev loves to dress her up & she definitely doesn’t argue). ben would wear her hair back more often than not cuz it doesn’t draw attention, & she wears lots of skirts & big t-shirts for the same reason. & besides that i just wanted to make all their hair colors stand out more so i made bill’s a bit more red & ben’s more blonde than brunette.

stan is fun cuz i feel like she looks the most similar to her canon counterpart (at least, i try(?)), but i still take my liberties. she’s got more strawberry blonde hair, & she’s got big curls. i think she wouldn’t care for them much when she was younger but once she learned how to maintain them she grew to love her curls. i also draw her in a lot more preppy-styled, modest clothes cuz i think it just makes sense (cuz of her parents)

richie’s fun cuz i feel like her who design just makes sense? she’s got big hair (i made a whole post on my hair hc for her a while ago), of which she grows out & cuts throughout her life. she likes to keep part of it pulled up usually too, for variety (but mostly cuz she lets eddie borrow her scrunchies when she wants to pull her hair up & richie loves when eddie wears her scrunchies but you didn’t hear that from meeee) she wears a lot of mismatched clothes, lots of ripped jeans & ofc her hawaiian & other brightly patterned shirts.

eddie is by far the loser who’s design i have the most hcs for, & it’s NOT cuz of favoritism (…maybe a little). i’ve always had the most ideas for her cuz her characterization imo would be the most affected by her being a girl in the canon. she would have to fit sonia’s “perfect little girl” ideals, which is not eddie in the slightest. perfect little girl eddie keeps her long hair down at all times, always wear skirts & blouses, & always does what she’s told. real eddie pulls her hair up all the time (until she finally cuts it, i also made a post about my eddie’s hair hcs), wears t-shirts & shorts her friends keep hidden for her, & has a trash mouth that only rivals the trashmouth herself. i give eddie more freckles the older she gets (until chapter 2, she has less then) cuz she’s outside running around all the time (which sonia hates). idk if anyone pays attention to it, but i draw eddie (especially teenaged & up) with an hourglass body cuz i still think she’d be small, but she’s got a bigger chest & curvier hips (sonia kaspbrak genes). i also think it plays into that “perfect little girl”-> “desired woman” pipeline that sonia would believe it, & that eddie hates. idk if that even makes sense. 

i’ll be so fr, idek if any of that made sense, or was even what you asked for. but hopefully that was a little bit of a glimpse into my mind when it comes to these gals? i’m constantly thinking about them & i’m always messing with what they look like so if anyone has any suggestions/ideas/want to know more about something specifically just lmk!! <3 <3

thank you! yeah i love nikki. i used to work with kids a lot (a LOT) and they’re just hilarious dude. sometimes these kids will say some shit that’s so excellent and so fun and so entertaining and will know what’s up and she’s kind of a representation of that. kids are great.

and yeah i guess i just don’t personally see like. the value in putting overt homophobia into the tf2 universe. there’s not really the overt expectation of ‘realism’ with the tf2 canon, and while i consider grounding these characters and putting them in more normal circumstances to expand on their more human characteristics to be kind of A Thing I Often Do, i don’t think i need the blunt instrument that is Gritty Realism Through Onscreen Bigotry to make any of the points i want to make in this series. the flavor is kept intentionally lighter throughout that series so that when it gets heavy, it hits a little harder. in other things ive written, and in things i might write in the future, that might pivot, but i don’t ever see bigotry being something necessary to the plot or development of characters in the RB universe.

writing scout as adhd feels kind of inevitable at a certain point if you’re diving into his characteristics and the way he tends to behave. we don’t have a ton to work with but, c’mon. intentionally or unintentionally, he always ends up adhd. the relatable king

Some Reasons Why Trafalgar Law is a Comfort Character of Mine!!

Aka me rambling about Law 🥳🥳

Some context

Trafalgar Law is a character that I’ve known about since I was a kid. A little over 10 years to be exact. I’d seen cosplays of him in anime conventions, his iconic polar white cap in anime shops, and his Jolly Roger everywhere.

Thanks to Aokkun’s artwork, I’ve also kinda known about Corazon, too!!

 I never saw too many photos of him nor understood his power or character too well. I just knew that he was kinda popular and he was from One Piece.

I didn’t really start really liking him until I started getting more One Piece YT shorts. 

I eventually did a One Piece Boyfriends Quiz for fun to see who I’d get. Law happened to be tied for third or fourth place. I did some more quizzes later on, and he always ended up consistently near the top (like top 3-4). So, I watched some videos on Law, and ended up seeing the Kid and Law vs. Big mom fight scene. Idr if it was that particular video, but I remember closing it thinking like woah, he’s cool. 

After spending time researching him, spending time watching the anime, and indulging in his character and a lot of fanworks, I realized just how much this character means to me.

So, here are some reasons that I really like him!!

One thing that I really like about him is his style and appearance. It’s alot like how I like to dress and the clothes he wears, his hair color, skin color, color palette just really make me happy. 

I like that he’s a doctor, since medicine is something that I want to be involved with in the future. I’ve been having alot of burnout lately since October, and felt like I’ve been losing the motivation for what I want to pursue. But, being able to relate to being young and already had some experience with medicine and being surrounded by supportive adults is cool (I’m referring to the novel and his family, not Doffy lol). 

I like his design, VA’s, and attacks, too!! He’s just super cool in general. He’s also cute!!🤍🌸

I like how nerdy he is and honestly just all of the fun facts about him. How he’s a Libra like me, his flower (Queen of the Night), his spirit animal(s), where he’s from, his hobbies (not so much the coin collection deal, my sister collects coins!! Idk if she still does it tho).

I just really like him as a character. His black cat personality is a dynamic that I like working with alot. Him also being a doctor, I have alot of medical issues that I could see him helping me with and recognizing early on. He’d be someone who would look out for me. I feel like we’d butt heads in the beginning, but he’d always try to be patient. 

This reason is also a bit random, but he reminds me of my mom alot. 

My mom is someone who was incredibly intelligent at a young age. She had a really high IQ and was even suggested to do something with Harvard. 

I’m not one to tell her story, but to sum it up, the way her and Law handled life are very similar. The way Law treats Luffy is also very cute to me. It’s funny seeing the high IQ black cat character x ADHD ball of sunshine together. 

 So, being able to understand his character and his motives was really easy. He’s a complicated character, but reading the novel helped me recognize that I’m understanding him well. 

He’s really fun to draw lol!! There’s not much else to say but yeah!! I like drawing him a lot.

He also just makes me feel confident. Being genderfluid, he really helps me express my masculine side. I love how he still likes cute things and sweet things.

He also has some weird habits that I relate to, one of them being the bread thing LOL. I always thought it was alittle weird, but I realized that I’m pretty picky about bread, too. 

I really like making HC’s for him and relating them to the people I know who remind me alot of Law. 

One thing that I don’t think about a lot are the people in our lives who did alot of damage to us. I don’t talk about it too often, but I can kinda relate to Law’s story with Doffy and Corazon. Like Law, I met someone (who really likes flamingos too lol) at a low point, and it really only became worse, until another individual showed up and helped us out. They showed us the good in life and loved us. That person happens to be my boyfriend!! 

It wasn’t an easy road, but, like Law, I started seeing the good in life, despite all of the bad luck I have. 

Writing No Surprises has really helped me indulge in him as a character and enjoy writing. He makes me really happy and will definitely hold a dear place in my heart. 

Anyways, I just wanted to ramble about it. I can’t wait to keep working on No Surprises!! I’m still editing and changing bits and pieces as I go along, but the ending and key details will be the same. 🌸🌸🌸

Regardless, I'm still finding more and more reasons to like him everyday, and it makes me super happy!! 🤍✨

More spiderwoman au ideas!

First and foremost, Mirabel already has her own room. She got it when she was 7, but seeing as the room was still in the location of the nursery. Antonio still slept in there, but Mira didn’t mind, tonito was a cute and calm baby. 

After Antonio didn’t get a gift, he got an additional room in her room. Both have their own side for privacy & such. 

Casita hides both their spider suits once they come back from fighting crime. They know it would be rare for anybody except Dolores and Camilo to go into their room but just to be safe, Casita hides them. 

Speaking of Casita’s walls, Bruno doesn’t live in them. Yes, he disappeared, but he disappeared a few neighborhoods away from Casita. He has a good paying job and a nice living space, and yes, he still has rat babies. But not as many, he has about 3 of them. 

I feel Bruno had seen both spider bites before they even happened. So now Bruno just worries for them but still cheers them on from the sidelines. 

Because Gwen doesn’t really have a place to stay, she often stays with Mirabel. Though VERY discreetly. Casita also made a small living area for her, similar to Bruno’s in the movie but with more feminine touches. 

Isabela and Alma still be runnin their mouths about La Aranaposa and Arana nino. And as always, Camilo and Dolores be defendin the two heroes.

“Why is someone so young out there, that “Aranaposa” should be ashamed of herself for letting that child be so close to harm” - Isabela

“Si, he could get hurt at any moment” - Alma

*insert Mirabel and Antonio who just got back from fighting*

“Abuela, haven’t you ever stopped and considered that maybe they were both born with those powers and maybe thought they should put them to good use? haven’t you ever stopped and considered that maybe this whole city would be in shambles without them?” Dolores said politely but sternly

“And Isa, it’s been 6 years since Aranaposa came about and a year since Arana nino came around, don’t you have ANYTHING else to talk about? Anything, idk, NEW in your life?” Camilo added with an irritated tone as he also looked at Alma in the corner of his eye. 

“NO politics at the table please” Julieta kindly chimed in as she harshly softly slammed her fist against the table. Julieta has grown tired of these conversations every other breakfast, lunch, or dinner. 

I decided to change the family dynamics, everybody is fine with each other. Julieta and Pepa take time off when they need to and so do the gifted grandchildren. Alma is trying her best to be a good abuela. Before Bruno left he wrote a note addressing the families issues, how alma is the cause of most of them, and how they need to be fixed. So, for the past decade the family has been relaxing and only put their powers to use for emergencies or for fun. 

So Isabela and Alma talking about the spider heroes stems from a place of concern and worry, the family knows that, but it’s still annoying. 

I have a feeling Antonio is a very independent kid because of his duties. I mean yes, he still loves his parents and goes to them for advice, but he does a lot of things on his own. For example, he used to let Mira or his parents read him bedtime stories. But he’s so tired from helping with battles that he can barely stay awake for them. So he either grabs a book and reads it himself or just goes to sleep. 

 Hobie had said at some point that the one of the things that is known about spiderman is their independence. So Antonio held onto that with a tight grip. 

All the family hears from the boy now is “no thanks, I got it” “Nope, I got it” “It’s alright, I can do it”

If he wants something as simple as pb & j or just a sandwich he’ll make it himself, and seeing as he has an easy bake oven, he mostly makes lunch or food by himself. He’s actually a pretty good cook. I saw in your drawing that Antonio gave Miguel some Arepas, so let’s just say Antonio made those for him. 

When Miguel says to lego spiderman “your one of our best” I like to think that the other best he’s talking about is Jess, Mirabel, and Antonio. Like seriously, Jess can beat an enemy on a motorcycle WHILE PREGNANT. Mirabel can take out mysterio with one punch and Antonio can take out the hobgoblin with one kick. Which he has.

Oh yeah, they call Jess, Tia. Why wouldn’t they? She's Tia material. 

Mirabel and Antonio had caught about 3 anomalies together, and 3 anomalies on their own.

Oh yeah, even though not everybody likes the two spider kids, people do like to do some stuff where they know they are appreciated. Such as painting the two on some walls, leaving gifts, etc. 

Gwen taught Mira how to play the drums and Hobie taught her how to play the electric guitar. And Antonio likes to help Pavitr feed the street dogs in his universe

Because the internet is a bit much Gwen started out small and gifted Dolores, Camilo, Mirabel, and Antonio Ipods. The spider teens love giving them song recommendations. 

Mirabel’s favorite song is self love by Coi leroy, recommended by Gwen

Antonio’s favorite song is hummingbird by Metro Boomin and James Blake, recommended by Miles

Camilo’s favorite song is silk & cologne by ei8ght and offset, also recommended by Miles. 

Dolore’s favorite song is link up by Don Toliver, it reminds her of hanging out with Mariano, recommended by Margo. When listening she just has to keep the music really low. 

I feel like Dolores, Mirabel, Camilo, and Antonio’s favorite music genres are R & B, modern pop, y2k pop, and 90’s rap with some occasional rock songs recommended by hobie. When it comes to listening to rock Dolores has to keep her noise canceling headphones on, then listen to it. 

Like every spiderman in school, the two are bound to miss some classes but thankfully they have good excuses. Just to let you know Mira missed about 6 classes and Antonio has missed about 4. 

Miles should have never given Mirabel, and by extension Camilo spray paint. He introduced them to the idea of graffiti; they were amazed by it. The two only use it for good things such as giving an old or new shop a touch up. The designs are always spectacular and match the theme of the shop so no one can really get mad. 

Antonio loves playing with mayday, he finds her adorable. He also likes to play with spider cat and spider rex.

Pride

1. Are they good at making friends? What makes it so easy for them?

Absolutely not. He sucks at being nice, so friends are hard to come by.

2. Do they struggle to maintain friendships? Why?

So Pride hasn't really had a friend since before the rebellion that got him sent to Hell. Demons aren't pals. When he does get to Earth, he resists interacting with humans as much as possible, and isn't trying to maintain any sort of relationship with Justice at all.

When he does accidentally make friends, he kind of... ignores them unless he wants to do something? Like if he's bored or something. They all just met him, so they don't know how normal this is or if he's busy, and kind of accept that Pride will leave them on read sometimes.

Why does he do this? Because he's used to relationships being transactional and assumes people don't care about him. He doesn't think anyone misses him when he's gone, or... want to have a relationship with him unless they're also getting something out of it.

3. Do they have a best friend? Multiple?

Ollie is his best friend, he'll admit that right away (when he gets enough character development to say so). She's the only motherfucker in this city who can handle him.

4. Do they prefer a ton of friends or a small group?

Definitely a small group. He does Not want to be vulnerable with more than a few people at once.

5. Do they ever wish they had more friends? Fewer friends?

Pride wishes that he wanted to have more friends. The idea of being someone who's popular and has dozens of friends and has everyone's love and attention calls to him. In reality though, he would never be able to or want to handle that many people being in his personal circle.

Justice

20. Do they have any “unlikely” friends? How did they meet?

Pride would be quite an unlikely friend of his lmao

In the book club specifically, though, Basil is perhaps the unlikeliest? They keep to themself most of the time, and really only talk to Emelia at length outside of meetings. During the book discussions, they might chime in with their own observations, but are just as often quiet for the whole hour. Thanks to his Angel Powers, Justice is immediately trustworthy to all humans, or at least makes them feel inexplicably "safe" so it's much easier for him to make unlikely friends. They began their friendship with Justice asking about their TTRPG dice, and the rest is history.

21. Are they a physically affectionate friend? With certain people or with everyone?

Yes, absolutely! He will ask first, but given the option to be huggy with his friends he will always take it.

22. How would they make friends in a new location where they don’t know anyone?

Justice is quite a social butterfly and likes going to places and talking to people. That's actually how he found his book club friends in the first place—in an attempt to learn how to be convincingly human, he went to the library and saw a flier for it. He showed up because it sounded fun! And there's people there!

23. Do they have any “dealbreakers” when it comes to making friends with someone?

Generally, just... don't be a dick? Justice is a very forgiving person, since being able to detect everyone's pain makes it hard to really hate someone, but even he draws his lines. He has a particular distaste for injustice, or unfair treatment, and there's probably no amount of Sad Backstory that would make him forgive someone who consistently treats people unfairly.

24. Do they consider their co-workers friends? Do they have a separate “work friends” category that’s separate from their “regular friends”?

Justice doesn't work, necessarily? Unless you count Heaven, that was sort of his career. In that case, yeah definitely he considers them a separate category, but more like "human friends" vs "angel friends."

When it comes to just his human friends, he has different groups that he organizes in his head. His book club friends, obviously, then his church friends, and his volunteer friends—which are close enough to coworkers, and some of them overlap with his church friends.

25. How do they celebrate with their friends? Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, etc.?

The second Justice learned what a birthday party was, he loved it. He's always down for celebrations, and would LOVE to help plan them. He hasn't been on Earth for long enough to have that happen, but when his book club friends invite him out to like, a big birthday dinner or something, he ALWAYS goes. And gets a little present!

Certain holidays hold more weight for him than others when it comes to his friends, and he is, of course, a huge fan of Christmas which is when most people are home with their families. He does always offer to extend his holiday celebrations out to those of his friends who are alone for the holidays (Chris is totally cut off from its family, Basil is on-and-off, Kit's family lives far away and she can't always afford to go out of town, etc.), and when they accept, he is delighted about having people over.
