DnD character (Jolyn) backstory porq Alex(dm) ya me tenia loca
For most of her life, the sea was all Jolyn knew. She was born and raised on the Calico Jack by her moms Anne Bonny and Mary Read but dnd version so they were the captains bc I said so. She was born through magic bc Alex wanted to know how she was born idk. Her mom’s taught her everything she’d needed to know since she was old enough to… well do anything basically. Anne and Mary were sure that one day she would be the one to take over as captain of the Calico Jack and wanted her to be ready for it when they decided to hand over the reins.
Since she grew up on the ship, she got close to many of the crew members. Some even taught her things they had picked up from wherever it was they had been before. She learned how to be very sneaky, a skill that she definitely used very, very often. If something went missing there'd be no question that Jolyn had taken it. Of course, she’d give things back to the crew… she’d give most things back... she'd give some things back.
When she became a young adult, Anne and Mary decided that if Jolyn would one day be captain of the Calico Jack, she would have to learn how to lead a ship on her own. One that wasn’t the Calico Jack of course, not yet, I mean they couldn’t let anything happen to their ship and crew just yet. So they sent off Jolyn on a new adventure. One to start her own crew and take care of her own ship. And one day she would come back and tell them about all that happened.
And she did just that. However, the crew didn’t last very long. Turns out many of them ended up not liking life at sea and wanted to do something else with their lives, like start a boy band or something, who knows. So for plot reasons, they disbanded and set off on their own journeys once again.
After a long day of not having anything to do, Jolyn decided to stop by a spa. There she met others who were also looking for something to do. And off they went. To find something to do, a new adventure with a new team.
This is her :)
#Yea hee moms are those two pirates bc I told my dm jolyn’s parents were lesbian pirates and he asked if it was them and I said#yeah sure y not#she’s a rogue wood elf and I love her very much#the dress was for smth in the campaign but it already passed so it’s just there now#the name of the boy band her old crew made is The Golly Jogers#and the members are Larry Layn Ziall Nouis and Hiam#dnd#dungeons and dragons#Jolyn#ocs#d&d oc#d&d#there’s not rlly any reason to post the backstory ig#I just wanted to

Objective Best Rooks for Each Companion Romance
Just finished my first full playthrough of Veilguard, so I now feel qualified to talk about the best/funniest rook race/class/faction combos for each companion romance. As always, feel free to argue if you want, but remember at the end of the day my opinions are always right (Government Mandated: this is a joke)
(PS: Race opinions may not be included, sue me. Also, light spoilers below, obviously. I'm pretty sure I got all the spoiler tags, but here's your fair warning just in case.)
Bellara: Grey Warden rogue. The bodice ripper girlie deserves a roguishly charming parter who is also a little dark and tortured, as a treat. Dating a Grey Warden feels like as close as Dragon Age gets to dating a superhero (but like, a broody one) and I think Bellara would love that dynamic. I have no strong opinions on race, but we'll say Qunari.
Taash: Elf Mournwatcher Mage. I may be biased, but I just finished a Mournwatcher Taash run, and seeing the way they talk about necromancy with Rook compared to Emmrich is so funny. Besides I think they'd enjoy a little goth elf to throw around.
Harding: The same combination as your inquisitor. Nothing better to me than establishing Harding having a strong type. Also very funny to imagine the inquisitor meeting Rook, the new partner Harding keeps telling them about, and they're a little too similar. Make Lace a little weirder and more fucked up (affectionate), she deserves it.
Davrin: Lord of Fortune Rogue. I see your "Davrin doesn't like the Crows because they're killers for hire" and raise you, faction of pirates and thieves that are literally just in it to beat people up and get as much loot as possible. It would be like if Isabella and Blackwall were a couple. I rest my case.
Emmrich: Mourn Watcher Mage. Listen, I know I already did this one, but let me be a little lazy. Admittedly, I am not an old man yaoi enjoyer (though I believe in their beliefs). So this one is mostly based around the idea of you Rook leaving to save the world, and ending up romancing the man who would've been their necromancy doctorate advisor.
Neve: Veil Jumper Warrior. Hear me out here, I'm obsessed with that one Neve voice line that reveals she knows nothing about the outside. Give her a wild child ranger-coded partner who lives in the cursed magic woods and would speedrun winning a season of Survivor. Make her have to go on hiking dates, it's enrichment.
Lucanis: Shadow Dragon Mage. Look, I know this is just Neve in a different font. But I'm obsessed with that Taash line about Lucanis and Neve dating where she implies their relationship has a predator-prey dynamic because he's a mage killer. Not that Lucanis is that kinky, but a Rook can imagine. Even if it ends up the other way, I'm all game for a short king magehunter getting tied up by his mage-dom.
Honorable Mention: I think it would be hilarious to romance Taash as an AFAB-Nonbinary Qunari Lord of Fortune. Just helping your hot coworker speedrun all of your own past life experiences. Please let me know if you've done this, and if it was worth it.

So recently I have been on a huge tabletop RPG kick so I thought it would be fun to talk about Class 1-A playing their own tabletop game, both the characters they'd play and how they'd be as players. For the sake of this, I will be writing in the context of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition since that's the system myself and others would be the most familiar with.
Rikido Sato: Half Orc Life Cleric Doesn't really get the game too much. Tends to forget the rules a lot and his own abilities. Just kind of picked a class at random. Is the king of bringing snacks and the like, all of which are homemade.
Mashirao Ojiro: Wood Elf Open Hand Monk Pretty average in all respects as a player. Not too remarkable in all respects. Doesn't realized how bad the monk is until they started playing, but is too attached to the character and their concept.
Koji Koda: Firbolg Shepard Druid Is only really here to hang out with his friends. Too shy to really do any roleplay with the rest of the gang, mostly doing small moments with his animals friends. Accidently made an overpowered build.
Minoru Mineta: Dhampir Phantom Rogue Knows the rules, but is a power gamer. Uses the game more as a power fantasy to look as cool as possible at all times, even if it is dumb, though will quickly panic if anything goes slightly wrong.
Hanta Sero: Gith Horizon Walker Ranger Really interested in all the lore and history of whatever the dungeon master came up with. The kind that dungeon masters either love or dread. Is the one constantly asking question and cracking the odd joke about it.
Toru Hagakure: Changeling Arcane Trickster Rogue Super big into the roleplay of it all and is always excited. Mostly took Changeling so she'd have the excess to play as many roles as possible. Probably makes little masks to remind people who she currently is.
Yuga Aoyama: Aasimar Glory Paladin Is insanely devoted to the role of the noble paladin, much to the detriment of everyone else. Likely says the line "But it's what my character would do more then any other player. Constantly hints at a backstory that nobody is biting on.
Mezo Shoji: Hobgoblin Gloomstalker Ranger Not the biggest into roleplay, does fairly well with the actual gameplay. Plays the typically reserved ranged. Tried to tie his and Koda's backstory together to try and take some of the stress off of him in terms of roleplaying.
Kyoka Jiro: Half Elf Whispers Bard Wasn't really sure about all of this before play and went with a bard because she liked the idea of playing music. It was a rocky start, but quickly got into it and started having fun. Will make custom songs and playlists for the party, as well ambient tracks and battle music.
Denki Kaminari: Air Genesi Storm Sorcerer Wanted to try it out because it was popular. Went with something he thought was cool and did not expect it to be so complicated. Needs to be constantly handed the book and remined of the rules in order to make sure he gets it. The amount of math hurts his head. Eijiro Kirishima: Goliath Giant Barbarian Like Denki, wanted to get into because it was popular. Bakugou helped a lot with building the character. Has a lot of fun smashing stuff. Plays his role pretty well, even if his character doesn't go beyond the nice brute whose name is very close to Kirishima's own.
Mina Ashido: Satyr Glamour Bard One of the students the most into the roleplaying. Is very light hearted and goofy about the whole thing. Can play a lot in bard stereotypes because she thinks it's funny. Another instigator, though mostly from her getting too into character at the worst of times. Fumikage Tokoyami: Tiefling Fiend Warlock Has been playing the game the longest and super familiar with all of it. Always makes characters he thinks are "cool", which means are super gothic and depress, both in class and in race. Does occasionally have Dark Shadow dress up and roleplay as his patron. Ochako Uraraka: Fairy Zealot Barbarian Ochako just wants to smash stuff. She has a lot of fun rolling dice and doing cool stuff with her friends, both good and bad. Likes playing the typically pixie before going nuts. Can be an instigator, but tends to backtrack when she realizes just how badly it goes wrong. Tsuyu Asui: Halfling Moon Druid Like Koda, is mostly here to have fun with friends. Often plays mediator both in and out of character. Does a good job with roleplaying thanks to how much she had to play pretend with her simplies. Always causes a riot whenever she becomes a dinosaur. Shoto Todoroki: Hill Dwarf Fighter Champion One of the worst players both in game and in roleplay. Played a character Izuku basically made for him. Is somehow still one of the best because he is constantly getting amazing rolls at the most critical moments, much to the frustration of Bakugou.
Katsuki Bakugo: Custom Lineage Chronurgy Wizard Powergamer, no question. He knows the rules back and forth to make the most broken build possible. Acts like D&D is a game you can win, even when it comes to roleplaying. Not a full on murder hobo, but by far the biggest instigator in the group.
Tenya Iida: Warforged Devotion Paladin Very much devoted to the rules, both in and out of the game. Gets confused when people say that he's doing a good job at playing a robot. Collects a lot of dice. One of the best Dungeon Masters of any of the students, though can be rather controlling at times. Momo Yaoyorozu: High Elf Forge Cleric A really good player with the rules though can be pretty awkward with the roleplay with how much she tries to get into it. One of the best DMs in the class. Makes custom miniatures for everyone in the party. Puts a lot of money to make the ultimate game room. Izuku Midoriya: Variant Human Bladesinging Wizard The perfect player. Knows the roles, but focuses more on making characters. Takes the most notes, pay attention, and makes sure everyone is having fun and feels included. Likely gets roped into the role of dungeon master more then anyone else because of these reasons.

Really looking forward to the Chris Pine D&D movie, and I want to share some love for the original attempt at a D&D film from 2000!
Make no mistake, this is a so-bad-it’s-good film, with digital effects that are ropey as hell (especially when you consider that Fellowship of the Ring was already in post-production in 2000), a plot so disjointed it barely exists, (including a final battle that the main characters don’t even really take part in) and staggering levels of camp.
But it’s fucking charming.
Jeremy Irons (Scar from The Lion King) is the villain, an evil archmage who wants to overthrow an (not particularly benevolent anyway) empire with a plan that is never really clear but involves dragons?
Just look at this guy:
:readmore:
He walks about like that for the whole film, waggling his fingers slowly so you know he’s the baddie. He has an office where all the furniture and decor is made of human skulls and bones (a real location; I believe it’s a church somewhere?) and likes swooping his cape about. And Jeremy Irons himself is so bored, it’s hilarious. I seem to remember that in the dvd extras he’s interviewed alongside Gary Gygax and pretty much expresses open disdain for the whole process. He’s a serious actor! This is beneath him!
Elsewhere on the supporting cast, we have a henchman with spiky armour and inexplicably blue lips that are always pouting in a way that seems vaguely sexual; Tom Baker(!) as a wood elf Druid who only exists in order to say something vaguely mystic about dragons for 20 seconds before disappearing forever; and Richard O’Brien in full fey bastard mode as a camp thieves’ guild master who challenges the party to…find a crystal…in a deadly maze filled with traps and puzzles. Like in that game show he used to present…I forget the name. I wanna say Diamond Labyrinth? 😂
As for the party, it’s all delightfully one-note characters. We’ve got a rogue? bard? who goes from being a selfish dickhead to altruistic freedom fighter on a dime. Some dialogue suggests he’s some kind of chosen one, but the plot never actually explores or resolves that. Then there’s a wizard who doesn’t like poor people, an elf fighter who doesn’t like anyone, a dwarf who’s so out of it he barely knows he’s there and is never given any character motivation to explain why he’s travelling with these guys; and some dude called Snails, whose personality is…he’s scared? Basically Shaggy without Scooby.
These guys have to save a princess from Jeremy Irons, who wants to kill her because she has friendly dragons or something. But here’s the great thing: the party have very little reason to want to rescue her (most of them as non-mages are actively oppressed and even enslaved by the ruling mage class of which she is the figurehead) and they never actually *meet* her until the very end of the film, after the evil archmage has pretty much already been defeated - by the princess and her dragons btw, not the party, who basically teleport a magic wand to her and then just watch.
They rescue her because in order for the film to be a film, there needs to be an end goal, even if it’s totally arbitrary. And that’s what I love. Isn’t that just so reflective of a slightly haphazard campaign of Dungeons & Dragons with a party that’s hastily thrown together?
And there are more similarities that compound this feeling of watching some randoms play a home campaign. The plot as I mentioned is disjointed. It’s not a series of events that flows or has any kind of pacing - the movie is a series of 15 minute adventures that don’t really connect to each other or build to the ending. As if the director is a dungeon master arbitrarily stringing together modular adventure sourcebooks! Let’s storm a castle for reasons! Great, now let’s raid a tomb. No, I don’t know why. At one point a party member just bounces from the plot and is never seen again, just like that player in your group who never shows up and you all just move on.
It’s like the writers transcribed a home campaign, warts and all, into script form and then somehow successfully pitched it as a B-movie. Though the Chris Pine version will doubtlessly be a much better movie, Dungeons & Dragons (2000) is perhaps the most accurate possible dramatic presentation of D&D as it actually is in practice for most people playing it. What could be more charming than that?

If you are interested, can you plz share how you see the Our Life (1+2) characters as DnD classes and races included? 😆⚔️🍃🏹
Im craving Our Life with some medieval whimsical vibes, Baxter dancing with swords, Derek singing with bar goers while MC goes pickpocketing the villains, Cove as a MERMAN living his life like Ariel. So many wonderful thoughts wanted to share ✨️✨️✨️
okay this took so long bc i know nothing abt DnD so i did a bit of research!!! my friends have talked abt DnD and i never understood but knew it was smth cool n involved alot of creativity, but now i just think this is sm cooler <33 anyway im not creative at all rn so im referencing everything from this website im using👍
tags : Fluff, 'Dungeon and Dragons' headcanons + drabbles, cove is the only one w hc's for if you're dating (+ qiu kinda?) i couldn't think of dating hc's for everyone else in this world as well but you could imagine some of the hc's that way
synopsis : DnD races and classes of ol:nf & ol:ba characters.
qiu:
okay I couldn't decide but qiu is half-elven.
(his dad is so whipped for his elf wife<3<3<3)
i can't really think about what class he'd be in, but i think i could see him as a bard
he's the laziest bard though 💀 and thus is mostly a wanderer.
qiu will wait until they're on their last coin and then will go perform
would perform a very good show while MC pickpockets the assholes that were disturbing the bar just a moment ago
otherwise, he just performs for you and his friends.
they'll have/be at a party with all their friends, and will perform some type of magic trick to entertain everyone
qiu will sing you little songs, read you poetry he wrote while watching you sleep that morning<3
for any important dates like birthdays, or anniversary (if you're dating), etc., they'll do a cool magic trick and perform a elven dance that he learned from his mom
tama:
human! BUT. she's a druid
she loves the forest, the forest loves her
maybe a bit of sorcery as well? idk how this works lol
she has a little house in the woods omg
goes foraging and learns lots of sorcery stuff from ren
will show you how to cast cool spells
also you're the first person she comes to show you any new spells she learns!!
you two beat up any bandits/criminals you come across
renee (/darren):
human and like i mentioned in tama's, is a sorcerer
!!! wants to be like her mom in canon right?
i think she's a teacher n teaches young sorcerers/wizards
baxter:
isnt baxter special. just crossovering worlds 💀💀
anyway.. he's an elf! is also rogue...
bringing baxter's issues/trauma into this DnD au as well <3
you find it very weird that a elf is on his own, but ignore it ofc and befriend baxter anyway
after much warming of baxter's cold heart, i imagine he settles in some civilian town or nearby and opens a bar!!
and every night its full with laughter and good music, and occasionally he'll come out from behind the bar
(honestly, he's mostly just cleaning the glasses and looking pretty <3)
and he'll pull you or one of your friends into a dance
omg imagine its not just a bar, its also a bed & breakfast
of course he's decent enough at cooking, so every morning he lays out a nice breakfast for his customers
derek:
knew this was derek insantly!!! he's half-orc
orcs dont have horns, do they.... well they do now
(realizing he's more Oni than anything in my head...)
anyway i need you to imagine arataki itto and if u don't know who that is Please find the beefiest fanart of him n thats derek LOL
derek grinning with his fangs and he's like 7 feet tall and buff, covered in scars.... yessir <33
i imagine he's a wanderer, but before that he was a cleric.
derek always helps people, he's very reliable but i imagine he's tired and somehow ends up working for baxter!
he's chef during the day and security at night!!!
no fighting in baxter's bar/diner unless you want a ass-ful of derek's boot <3
i also imagine when he's not running the place with baxter, he's helping the towns folk
the kids love him
they make flower crowns and run to the bar/diner to give them to derek <3333
ofc there's that one shy kid who offers one to baxter! bc they think he's really cool!!!
cove:
like you said he's a merman!!!
mmm, but i also imagine he can shapeshift into a "human"
(this is some ariel shit isnt it LMAO)
(also im imagining mer!cliff x human!kyra. mmm, i wonder if she'd be a bard? or maybe a healer, cleric maybe? why do i wanna write a whole fic on this now....)
although i imagine he needs to stay hydrated to stay on land like that. so please remind him to drink water when you're out n about otherwise he'll turn back into a fish in the middle of the market LOL
(you've learned this the hard way
!!! imagine if there's some way for you to come into the sea as well, be it a air bubble or potion of some sort and you have lil underwater adventures/dates n cove shows you all kinds of cool things <3333
he brings you lots of pretty things
if you like jewelry, he has his dad help him string up some pearls into a necklace or bracelet. or even better an anklet
+ if you're dating/crushing on each other
he'll do his little mermaid mating and courting rituals
like bringing you food
(will show up on your doorstep in the middle of the night w a big fish he caught or some breakfast derek smuggled him (cove doesn't keep many coins since mer-currency is more like sand-dollars or smth like coins made out of ore only found in the sea. the ore is good for nothing else than to be coins LOL))
OH MY GOD HE CAN CHIRP N SHIT
will chirp n shrill and do other cute mer sounds that you don't really know what they mean sometimes
COVE: *watching you dreamily* MC: *flustered from the staring* what?... COVE: *flirtatious chirp*

Saw the D&D post and how you said that our own takes are good to include, so I went to dndbeyond and searched for some fun races and subclasses. I haven't touched D&D books in years, so it'll be a little scuffed
Larry - a Hedge, College of Eloquence Bard, the best flirt in town >:]
Apple - a Strig, Oath of Devotion Paladin, a Gladiator that fights for freedom of other gladiators that still have to fight for some feudal lord
Bonsais - Warforged (folk made of wood and metal), one is a War Domain Cleric, the other is a Battle Smith Artificer, and they are both former Soldiers, tired of war but can't quite able to leave behind fighting skills
Em - a Haregon, Forest Druid, a known neighbour who keeps both the forest and the passerbys safe from each other
What do you think?
Format: Name - [Subrace] Race, Subclass Class, Background + any relevant feats
Larry - Hobgoblin, College of Eloquence Bard, Soldier
Apple - High Elf, School of Divination Wizard, Noble
Bonsai(s) - Warforged, Scout & Thief Rogues, Criminals
Em - Aasimar, Storm Herald Barbarian, Knight
Larry is ABSOLUTELY a college of eloquence bard, though I think he would not be resistant to being charmed as hobgoblins normally would lol. I picked Soldier just for COD, though I think he would have been dishonourably discharged for fraternising with the enemy
Apple had to be a high elf with her posh accent and quite proper manners. I don’t see her fighting as much since she’s not very confrontational, and divination wizard is better as support.
I love the Bonsais as warforged, and I really like the war cleric and battle smith artificer, but I always think of them as very crafty and deceptive. I like the idea of them being a pair of notorious thieves who work in tandem to evade the law.
Em to me is Pasta’s knight. I think she would be assigned to protect her at birth during a magical storm that made her an aasimar. I don’t exactly know why I chose storm herald specifically, I think it was another gut feeling
#I love these keep em coming please#sorry this took a while to answer I had to finish up something#private recording 1#pr1 x d&d#youronlyanswers

Hello! Since my main acc has been shadowbanned, I dug up this one only to tell you how marvellous your writing is. I haven't read all of your Rolan/Tav pieces yet, but oh my god, you are my favourite Rolan/Tav writer. You portray him and Tav so well, my heart beats faster every time. I am so lucky to have found you. Holy Rolan Empire is so lucky to have you! If your imposter syndrome ever shows up again, tell them to shut up because what you are doing is drop dead gorgeous, and beautiful, and wonderful, and remarkable... :D Thank you for sharing your talent with us. That moment with the flower in 'Kiss the Cook' almost made me cry. Can't wait to read more, please don't stop <3 P.S. Is it possible to see your druid Tav, or your other Tavs?
THIS IS THE SWEETEST EVER OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU. i'm working on a few new bits but ive had like no time i promise there's more coming <333
yes i would love to show you my tavs <3 just a note that i dont play with any mods so theyre all vanilla hahah. pics and brief descriptions are below the cut, if you want more details like their backstory or their stats etc lmk!!! i love talking about them <333
this was my first tav, raelia!!! she's a high elf wild magic sorceress and she romanced halsin. she's chaotic good.
this is fern!! she was my second tav, she's a wood elf druid. she's my fav but don't tell the others that. she romanced gale and she's lawful good.
this is nocturna, she's a joint tav my partner and i made because cross platform doesn't exist yet. she's a lolth sworn rogue. we haven't done much with her yet, so far she's true neutral but knowing my partner she'll end up chaotic evil.
finally this is zarra! she's a lolth sworn fighter and she's my dark urge. she's very new so i haven't made much progress with her yet. she's neutral evil but perhaps that will change throughout her journey who knows.

if the zorlok cast were bg3 characters, what would they be and what kind of decisions would they make?
I'm assuming you mean who they would be in BG3 and not what kind of characters they would play. Also, hmm, don't want to give away spoilers here, so if you look below the cut you can see what I think they'd be up to (just beware of spoilers).
Tommy: Human, Level 9 Warlock (Fiend + Chain) / Level 3 Bard (Valour)
Dev: Wood Elf, Level 11 Rogue (Thief) / Level 1 Warlock (Archfey)
EJ: Human, Level 12 Sorcerer (Wild Magic)
Adam/Eve: High Elf, Level 7 Cleric (War) / Level 5 Paladin (Vengeance)
Lucía: Half-Elf (Wood), Level 7 Ranger (Gloomstalker) / Level 5 Rogue (Assassin)
Ciel: Lightfoot Halfling, Level 6 Barbarian (Wildheart) / Level 6 Druid (Moon)
Danny: Drow (Seldarine), Level 9 Paladin (Oathbreaker) / Level 3 Warlock (Fiend + Blade)
The Celestial: Aasimar Forest Gnome, Level 10 Wizard (Transmutation) / Level 2 Cleric (Knowledge)
Rose: Human, Level 12 Bard (Lore)
[Beware of Spoilers Below!]
Tommy
Not romancing anyone (obviously, he's 15)
Best friends with Wyll, Karlach, and Gale. Shadowheart is too cool for him, he's way too intimidated by her. Lets Astarion do whatever the hell he wants. Lae'zel scares the shit out of him. Adopted by Halsin the moment he meets him.
Just wants to hang out with the cool tiefling kids
Very easily persuaded by Raphael. Wyll and Karlach are constantly trying to talk some sense into him.
Aylin is the coolest person he's ever met
Sobbing his way through the horrors of Faerûn—I can see him in a little crumple at Withers feet, blowing his nose on Withers' decaying robes as bone daddy breaks the fourth wall and stares into the camera miserably
Eventually hardens into a truly terrifying force to be reckoned with (Karlach is very proud)
Tommy has two hands, one for Scratch and one for the owlbear
Dev
Romancing non-Ascended Astarion and fucking Halsin occasionally, Lae'zel and Shadowheart are xyr besties (xe forces them to get along), Gale amuses the hell out of xem, Wyll and Dev are constantly trying to one up each other's stories
It's either Ethel or Volo, whoever xe comes across first, but that eye's out of xyr head comically fast
Just wants to talk shit with Withers all day, hates that he never has much to say to xem
Wants to kick the shit out of Rolan but keeps saving his life somehow
Always covered in blood. Like it doesn't make sense half the time. How did that much blood splatter on xem? Why is it still on xem?
EJ
Absolutely head over heels in love with Gale, friends with and trying to fix everyone, Astarion terrifies them but they won't give up on him, they know there's a good person hiding beneath that veneer
Panicked and accidentally yeeted a gnome
Tried a tadpole once, wasn't for them
Holding Gale's hand and squinting through every dark space
Sleeps cuddling the owlbear and is always covered in feathers
Adam/Eve
In a relationship with Lae'zel, didn't get along at first but Laez grew to respect A/E and A/E was charmed by Lae'zel's... strengths. Shadowheart is their sister, hates it when the girls are fighting. Friends with Gale and Karlach. Doesn't trust Wyll fully. Never let Astarion join them. Immediately enamored with Halsin but Lae'zel is... stronger.
Normally out of spell slots cause they're terrified of long resting
Loves potions and alchemy, will stop every 30 meters to pick yet another sprig of balsam
Doesn't make deals with villainous beings. Doesn't trust any voices in their head. Doesn't respect any gods they come across.
Loviatar loves them
Lucía
In a relationship with Karlach, best friends with her and Wyll, had a crush on Shadowheart before meeting Karlach, never liked/trusted Astarion and staked him the minute he tried to put his fangs on her throat, Jaheira is her idol, probably left Lae'zel to die (cause she didn't want to upset Shadowheart)
Speaks to every single animal, picks every single lock, looks in every single barrel, fails almost every charisma check
Scratch is always by her side
Will go to Hell for her besties 😉🥲
Ciel
Dating Shadowheart, really close with Astarion and Minthara... But, seriously, they have a big redemption arc. They grow and change alongside Shadowheart, both goth edgelords are completely changed by the end
Starts the game eating every tadpole (like the Guardian barely has to suggest the idea, it's already in their mouth) but goes one step too far and suddenly becomes terrified of what it means to be monstrous(/illithid)
Diplomacy? Ha. Sorry, that's not for them. They only like talking to animals and corpses.
Loves permanently seeing invisibility...
A loot goblin, their high strength score is great for fighting and jumping and shit, but mostly for the increased carrying capacity
Mol is their idol
Danny
I'm honestly not sure who they'd be in a relationship with, I think they'd be close with everyone but I don't think they'd be in a headspace for anything more than friendship over the course of the game, maybe after the fact they'd grow closer with Shadowheart but that would just be my headcanon, they wouldn't romance anyone (no matter how much Withers mocks them for it)
They are doing everything they think is right in the moment, though they'd regret rash actions later
They empathize greatly with the undead and hate people like Balthazar who twist them to their will
No one threatens a child in their presence. Well, no one who's still alive.
They cannot pretend to be under the Absolute's thumb, they are going in swinging every time, no chance for diplomacy or manipulation
They pick up a teddy bear early on and it never leaves their inventory
The Celestial
In a physical relationship with Halsin, slept with Astarion but now they're just very good friends, sees Karlach, Wyll, and Shadowheart as eir children, loves and is very intrigued by Lae'zel, doesn't like Gale at all (cannot and will not trust a wizard like him)
Always has the Disguise Self spell going, and it's always a different disguise
Eir traveler's chest is filled with the weirdest collection of random shit you've ever seen: noble portraits, rotten eggs, gold chalices, a couple goblin corpses, poutine, 30 mindflayer tadpoles, etc.
Chats with every corpse, even the ones ey killed
Lorroakan can (and does) eat shit
Despises everything about Orin, zero redeemable qualities—even her shapeshifting, eugh, it's so... crude, no grace or skill
The moment the Celestial learns Otto's Irresistible Dance is the last moment Faerûn knows peace
Rose
In a passionate romance with Wyll but he's very good friends with everyone (they are all his children)
Does everything within his power to avoid violence. Will charm, sing, and sneak his way across Faerûn
Adopts every child and animal he comes across
The hardest thing he has to do is tell people to stay in camp. Why can't everyone always be in his party? They all make him feel so bad...
Always taking long rests (doesn't want people being tired or hurt) and spends an hour cooking a delightful meal with Gale every night
#yes i'm a habitual multiclasser#if you can't tell#thanks for the ask!#asks#bg3#cast#tommy#dev#ej#a/e#adam/eve#lucía#ciel#danny#the celestial#rose#dnd

Don't know if you have done it on your blog but can you introduce us to your Tavs? Like a Character Profil Template. :)
This has been in my inbox for ages, and if i wait until I have everything perfectly set up like i wanted before answering i believe i'll never answer :'D
so perfection and fear of being cringe and seen be damned i'm doing it it now !
so far the only things i have for my tavs on this blog is their respectives tags you can find in the sidebar of my blog :')
so i'll just list them here and i'll make them more detailed pages later, when i have time and feel confident enough to share more of the backstories i imagined :')
( warning, piss poor writing in coming i suck at writing in my native language and it's even worse in english )
Delsys - My 1rst Full release Tav, half wood elf orphan, beastmaster ranger who ended up serving as a guardian of the druidic order that found and raised her. she's a big introvert and has piss poor social skills, litteraly her only friends are her owl companion, Verbena and Trilli ( even if she feels disconected from her two very extroverted and playful friends ) she's been following the orders and lead of the druids for most of her life so she's really not confident in her new role as the leader of the bg3 party, ( she's not confident about a lot of things actually, tbh the only thing she's not insecure about is her archery skills ) and unfortunately for everyone she tends to hide those insecurities behind a tough and apathetic mask
Trilli Bumbleroot - archfey warlock/bard forest gnome - lover of music, dancing, nature and village festivals, she's just a little gal who loves traveling, i'm still not entierly sure of who i want her archfey patron to be, but she took a contract when she left her village in order to have enough power to protect herself on the road. During her travels she eventually came across Delsys ( who wasn't born yet ) and Verbena's druidic order and she's been bestie with Verbena ever since and unfortunately for the other druids when the both of them put their mind together tomfoolery ensues
Verbena Ferngrass - Wood elf druid - high bimbo of the same druidic order that raised Delsys ( and she kind of sees her as a little sister ) she's a big extrovert, a big flirt, she values her personal freedom and fun above all else, she thinks with her vag and is always pulling Delsys into all kind of situations™ She considers Trilli to be her best friend ( and they kiss sometimes )
Vetra - Githyanki war cleric of Vlaakith - soft and curious soul who's been battered and hardened by her training as both a warrior and a priestess, now that she's in faerun she starting to feel a bit more free to be explore and connect back to the parts of her personality she had to hide behind her now no-nonsense tough persona
Kastyn Firebeard - warrior/maybe paladin ( haven't decided yet) - mercenary coming from a blacksmith family, don't have much of a backstory for her yet :') just that she was disatisfied about her life in the mercenary group she was a part of, mostly because she had no control over the missions they took, and those missions sometimes went agaisnt her moral code
Healstra Ssiwin - lolth drow Sorceress - Bit on the fence about her story and personality :'x i'm not sure why exactly she chose to go to the surface,i initially made the Astromancer robes mod for her, so i had in mind that she wanted to see and study the stars but idk, i'll think i'll need to document myself on drow a bit more to get better ideas :'D
Cyn Clarilieu - my EA tav, basic noble human turned paladin ( is now tall and buff thanks to the full release Bodytype 3 ❤️) good aligned, annoyingly too self-righteous at times
Shani Cotton - Halfling rogue - Street urchin turned criminal in Baldur's gate lower city, magpie brainded if-it-shiny-i-want-it ,quite loose morals so she doesn't care if she has to kill or maim to obtain what she wants
Oriann Aleviir - my co-op tav, half drow - cringefail 8 dex blew-her-own-face-off-with-fire-spell wild magic sorcerer, terrified for her life 24/7 and will make every bad choices out of fear and gullibleness ( highly manipulable, will probably end up a squid as a result )
#long post#baldur's gate 3#bg3#bg3 tav#tav#i've been wanting to make a template page for each of them but it's taking so much time#and between my personal life and my job i simply don't have much free time anymore 😭#ANYWAY#thanx for asking about my tavs anon❤️#it means a lot even if i struggle at putting backstories into words#bg3sd.gif#c: delsys#c: trilli bumbleroot#c: verbena ferngrass#c: vetra#c: kastyn firebeard#c: healstra ssiwin#c: oriann aleviir#c: cyn clarilieu#c: Shani cotton

Who on earth is jeff. I’m curuous
OH I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED. jefferson (jeff) arthur callivan is my character for a dnd campaign i'm in run by my dear friend edgar. he's a half elf rogue (which i did not know was a stereotype until like. a few weeks ago. i made him over a year ago) who is a journalist from a small tight-knit poor family of incredibly awesome people, including his hot awesome cool battlemaster fighter mother charmona callivan, his deeply bald and unserious alchemist artificer step-dad leobald callivan, and his incredibly strange wild magic sorcerer (half) sister bones callivan (bones isn't her real name) (she is also another player character) as well as his gay slut wood elf circle of shepards druid dad mellavi who has like. hundreds of children and loves them all dearly and is present in every single one of their lives. he's my favorite npc in the campaign i love him so much.
his plot relevant back story is that his family was struggling with bills and such and he was approached by this guy karsis valker to do work for him involving doing research on certain people, which jeff thought was extremely sketch but the money was too good to refuse so he took the job but he later found out that his work was being used to murder people wanted by this organization called the children of amity which is currently run by religious zealots largely worshiping the god of nature and creation (though it wasn't always like this, it used to be a peaceful organization). so jeff is obviously shocked and disgusted and quits his job and then after that things happen that i can't post about here bc it's backstory secret spoilers for my friends who are playing with me but it traumatizes jeff so badly he takes his sister and runs away to a different continent to try and find the last person he was assigned to research (isaac turner, another player character) to warn him that the children are after him. i could get into more about the children and what they do but that's not 100% relevant here but the plot of the campaign is that the characters are working with a rebel organization trying to take down the children of amity
anyway jeff carries a lot of guilt for being apart of so many peoples' murders as well as for what happened after they quit their job to an extent that's definitely past being helpful and is only self destructive. they haven't told anyone they're close to what happened which was very much the worst option they could have chosen because it's something they Need to know but because of how traumatizing it was for jeff they're horrified that people will blame them for what happened and that they won't be forgiven, and they also haven't told them because they think that it'll protect them in some way.
currently in-game his sister bones is very upset at him for not telling him what's going on, his parents (mom & step-dad) are tracking the two of them down because after he and bones left home they found out what happened to jeff and are extremely worried about their children, and jeff recently found out that his dad mellavi was a member of the children of amity when they were basically a peaceful bible study for their god who he also worships but he wasn't able to leave once they were taken over by zealots bc they kill people who leave because of how small and secretive it is and he wanted to protect his family so he joined the rebel organization as a spy to still help resist against them, but he recently left both organizations which is very concerning to jeff because one massive thing about him is that he loves his parents more than anything and his dad is his biggest role model.
but anyway yeah tldr jeff is my sweetie pie who loves his family and loves his friends and will do anything for them and is very deeply unhappy right now. but i love him. i could probably say more about him but i'll leave it at this for now. if you ever have any more questions about jeff please feel free to ask he's my specialest he/they ever.
(art on the left is his combat mini drawn by edgar @graciouswings, art on the right is mine)

List of Headcanons
What is their backstory and why did you choose it?
Well, I wrote up a bit on his backstory on the carrd but essentially he's a classic story of a good lad being forced into a criminal lifestyle cause of family and life events.
Finn's moral compass for most of his life is constantly spinning around, not sure which way to point. His mother raised him until just before his teens and she tried her best to nurture a kind hearted nature, a boy who loved music and arts and just wanted to play the lute and sing.
After her passing and his father returns to his life to take him "under his wing", Finn's life of music and art is torn to shreds as his father toughens him up for the life of a pirate. At first Finn resents his father, but over time begins to see it as his father trying his best to make sure Finn survives and thrives in this lifestyle. And by his late teens he certainly thrives. He earned the name Finn "The Fury" Locke for his rage during raids but mostly his constant simmering anger even out of fights.
He's fiercely loyal to his father, the captain, and the crew, having taken many injuries and killed for them throughout his life. Out of the crew, his closest friend and mentor was a half wood-elf named Jon. Jon was the chef and took wee Finn under his care when Finn was still a child grieving the loss of his mother and the life he once knew. Jon was much calmer than most of the other pirates, more patient and open-minded. The kitchen was always a space for Finn to be himself and funnily enough, the one spot on the ship where he never simmered to anger.
As for why I went with Finn? I've always been fond of the sea, I've sailed, dived, surfed, etc. I spend so much of my free time at the beach. I wanted to write a character that also shared the same love for the ocean and Finn as a pirate just fell into place for me. I wanted to write someone who's main obstacle isn't anything or anyone but just finding himself again. For the story of the fight against the Dead Three, Finn doesn't have his own personal battles per say, just the slow crawl to self discovery and finally feeling happiness with himself. His biggest quest mark is facing his father at the docks of Baldur's Gate.
Do they multiclass? Why (not)?
Yes! With my playthrough Finn is going up to level 20 (😎) and so my current plan for Finn is:
Level 12 Rogue Pirate
Level 5 Fighter Battle Master
Level 3 Bard College of Swords ( only happens near the end of Act 3 as he begins to embrace his Bardic nature )
What was your Tav like as a child?
Near unrecognisable to the man now. Young lad, not well off by any means but rarely knew hunger. Carefree, happy, excitable child that had a small group of friends where he loved being the jokester with. He would sneak to watch street performers play songs and tried to set up a terrible band with his friends.
Academically he was perfectly average in most classes, with exception to music and writings where he excelled. His mother worked hard to save up to buy him a lute that he treasured until his father took it from him and cast it into the ocean.
What do you think happens to the party, afterwards? Do they go for drinks? Do they go their separate ways?
Finn would certainly suggest drinks, a well earned rest. He'd also be very glad the Elfsong is still standing.
Now, the question is would Finn join Karlach in Avernus? I'm between two minds on this cause Finn would adore Karlach so much, she's a very dear friend to him but he'd also know that Wyll would join her too.
If he doesn't join her, he'll be dashing after Astarion and using his cloak to cover him up enough until the others can join them and help. After that, he will insist on serving all those who remain a pint or two in the Elfsong but he wouldn't feel much joy to celebrate. His friends fighting for their life and freedom in the Hells. If anything he's just grateful it's all over and he can focus on the next stage of his life.
Otherwise, he's diving right into Avenrus and smoking that fat cigar before chopping up as many demons as possible while the smarter lads work on a way to fix her engine for good.
Years after the game, what do you think your Tav is up to?
Most of his adventuring, and rogue lifestyle has been put away. Finn has now focused his energy on being a simple bard and author. He's trying to write the story of the journey of their adventure with the tadpoles and how a group with little in common banded together to crush the plan of the Dead Three and later the Netherbrain.
Finn has no ties to anywhere on land, his home in Waterdeep is long gone and so he will happily go wherever he needs to be.
One day he also meets Jon, who's left the pirate life to set up an inn in Baldur's Gate and Finn makes sure to be as much of a regular customer as possible.
What do you think of your Tav's development throughout the game? If you compared them to who they were at the start, what would be different?
Like chalk and cheese, Finn in Act 1 wouldn't recognise Finn in Act 3, from physical appearance to his entire personality. Finn slowly gets calmer and open to new ideas.
Yet, Finn post game finally understands how it is to be truly happy with himself. He's finding peace.
Did Karlach get upgraded? Did she turn Illithid? Did she return to Avernus? If so, did Tav join her, or Wyll, or both?
No fucking way would be agree with illithid Karlach.
Anything you want to say about your Tav! Give a random headcanon, answer a random question, say whatever you want!
Pigeon (his parrot) is the real hero of the story.
Does your Tav help the mindflayer against Commander Zhalk or do they run straight to the helm?
Okay so Finn has a surprisingly high intelligence (and extremely low wisdom) and his high intelligence is mostly because he's quite tactical. When he sees that fucking huge flaming sword, all his thinks of how useful and valuable it is. So he asks Shadowheart if she has a way to disarm the commander and turns out Shadowheart was able to command him to drop it. Once he got the sword in his possession then he dipped the hell out of the crashing ship with.
What's their opinion of Emerald Grove? Do they help the tieflings or side with the druids?
Finn hasn't met a druid until coming across the Grove and his first meeting with them trying to kick out the tieflings doesn't bode for a good first impression.
Considering a few of his old crew mates were tiefling who joined the ship, a couple boarded to escape unjust persecutions, he's leaning towards the tieflings instantly. Nettie trying to poison Finn doesn't cement a better view either.
One thing he likes from the Grove is one of the druids is willing to sell him a flintlock pistol and so Finn scourged up as much gold as possible to buy one. Failing to get enough gold, he steals the pistol and lets poor Gale get the blame as he was nearby.
But overall? He's 100% on the tieflings side and thinks Zevlor is pretty badass.
What does your Tav think of the Underdark and the Myconids?
The Underdark? Fucking loathes it. The only person likely to complain about it more than him would be Astarion. From open seas to co fined underground? Nothing he'd hate more.
Finn knows nothing about the Myconids when meeting them. Initially he wonders if they're edible cause they're fungi but since he works on the principle of "if you ain't threatening my team then I'll leave you be" so he's happy to hear them out. Although he will constantly mutter how "this fucking caveland is full of weird shit" while moving around their colony.

So I Play Baldur’s Gate 3 and I’ve done Seperate playthroughs with different Tavs
I have even attempted to romance different companions for different tavs
I got bored so I made up backstories and everything for them :) each of them has their own vibe I’m going for and the vibe I got I romanced who I believe they’d go for
So from left to right I’ll introduce them just a small trigger warning some of the backstories may be triggering for some.
So starting with the first one
Sulphur (Top Left)
Asmodeus Tiefling male
Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer (Gold)/ Rogue Theif
Sulphur is an orphan boy who had to learn how to steal, and con people in order to survive, he lived on the streets and had bared witness to the deaths of both his parents.
Due to life on the streets he didn’t have much time to practice or Harness his innate Sorcery and focused ok thieving and survival, he along with a group of other orphans all joined together to help each other survive.
On his exterior he’s unemotional, stoic and cynical however internally he’s deeply caring for others he just struggles to express how he feels.
Sulphur was Romanced with Karlach.
Next one is
William “Billy” Strone (top right)
Half high elf
Bard college of Lore
William goes by Billy and has since he was little, he grew up in a dysfunctional abusive household, where he was treated less than a dog by his own mother who tried to mould him into being completely obedient to her billy was constantly under his mother’s thumb what ever she asked of him he had to obey or face a beating and be denied food and she’d “reward” him if he he obeyed however he had the spirit to fight back against her wrath and managed to get himself out of there he had always found he had a natrual talent and affinity towards music he always loved it ans used it as a means to keep himself calm and relaxed
Despite everything he is a very sweet and kind individual a romantic at heart who only wants to see happiness in the world as he cannot stand the suffering of others he enjoys poetry, art and music.
Romanced Billy with Astarion
Quin’la (middle left)
Githyanki
Cleric of Vlaakith
I don’t have much lore for her just yet still working it out she’s been romanced with Lae’zel
Rul’kir (middle right)
Githyanki
Bard college of Valor
Rul’kir was a Githyanki whose crèche was inside the material plane however they had been attacked by a group of adventurers and his egg was taken with them however when they found Rul’kir to difficult they ultimately abandoned him not long after that he met Sulphur and the two became best friends since
Rul’kir isn’t overly serious as most of his kind he is a free spirit and is very open minded compared to other Githyanki, he is curious and it often leads to him going on adventures.
He isn’t judgemental of people and how they live their life and is surprisingly respectful and knows when to back off.
Roamanced Rul’kir with Shadowheart 🙃
Rowena Windwhisper (second middle left)
Half wood elf
Ranger Beastmaster
Rowena is a Half wood elf who spent most her life as a nomad wandering the wilds venturing far and wide just her an her grizzly bear companion Misha she always felt most at ease surrounded by the wilds she would occasionally go to cities but preferred the wilderness to civilisation she had been separated from her family after fleeing from an attack and is wandering searching for them
Rowena is very laid back and chilled out she tends to be quiet and prefers to keep to herself she can’t be to far from misha or she will worry about him.
Romanced Rowena with Halsin
Thervan- (second middle right)
Seldarine Drow
Barbarian- Wild magic
I don’t have much lore for him either I will probably come up with stuff later. But he’s Romanced with Minthara
Ophelia- (Bottom left)
Mephistopheles Tiefling
Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer (White)
Ophelia came from a privileged family of nobles however and event happened which changed her into a Tiefling because of this her family disowned her after being disowned she decided to travel with a group of adventurers lending them her sorcery
Ophelia speaks very properly and acts like a lady, she can be a little stuck up, stubborn and more or less a diva she’s sassy and is a little squeamish.
Romanced her with Wyll
Lorilei Songbird (Bottom right)
Wood Elf
Druid of Spores
Lorilei spent most of her time underground, with mychonids unlike most Druids she’s always believed that death was just another part of nature and to deny it is to deny the natural order after spending time with mychonids she learned that new life can be born from death. She isn’t the type of Druid to shy away from civilisation she finds it fascinating which eventually lead to her travelling to different cities and settlements to research them.
Lorilei is always ready to learn something new, she is very curious and tends to seek out new things she just wants to know how the world around her works.
Romanced Lorilei with Gale
So that’s all for introducing my tavs they are all unique in how I view them and I can imagine dynamics from each pairing also this game just makes my creativity spark

if those are your tavs not only you're good at virtual photography but also at character design
Aww thank you so much!
The only design that’s not entirely original (from my intro post) is Chappell Roan’s knight look from the VMAs. On the other hand, Decker’s design was for me to visualize him in one of my short stories, so he hasn’t been fully played yet. But hey— cowboys in Faerun don’t sound so far-fetched! 😂
Though, I’ll take this opportunity to present some more of my Tavs and their designs! I’ve been looking forward to sharing them, so hopefully they make a good first impression! 🤭
Vulgaris
he/him, Half Wood Elf, Ranger (Gloomstalker)/Rogue (Assassin), Astarion Romancer
god the first pic is the best one I’ve taken, I can’t stop fawning over him 😍
This is my very first Tav (and later Durge) when I first played the game last August! He is one where I’ve written his character arc as if he was a companion in the game, and I’m planning a separate post dedicated to him in the future!
Vulgaris is a quiet man that’s full of mystery, who has gone through some stuff he wishes to let go and forget. He is a ‘Marksman of Malar’, a specialized huntsman under contract with the lesser deity Malar. He’s not entirely a Malarite in worship, but doesn’t bother to correct anyone if it scares them (though his story ties similarly to the Durge, which I’ll write about later).
My favorite part of his design is actually the face tattoo, namely the Ivy Trellis tattoo seen in the base game. Paired with the Key of Ancients circlet, it’s become a significant feature to his story that’s similar to Gale’s orb.
Aimilios Vencoratere
she/her, Crinti (Half-Elf/Half-Drow), Fighter (Eldritch Knight)/Cleric (War Domain; Ilmater), Gale Romancer
My second Tav! She was the first playthrough where I was introduced to modding, and I do love making pretty women! One of my favorite parts was changing her hair and armor throughout all the Acts, as she isn’t used to much of the ‘outside world’ and has to adapt to it in some shape or form.
Aimilios (born Ilphadril Myndar) is a valiant woman, born and raised in Dambrath yet a former knight from Suzail in Cormyr. She bears a Spellscar that greatly affects her magic and overall health, claiming it to be an ill-fated curse. In contrast to her domain, she worships Ilmater and questions if her judgement to an enemy’s suffering are morally true.
Syvne Nasadra
she/they, Drow (Szarkai), Monk (Way of Shadow), Karlach Romancer
Fun fact, I created Syvne for a Discord server called “Waterdeep Connections”, where Tavs/Durges can be set up with companions via matchmaking, kinda like using a Faerunian dating app! I haven’t gone far for her gameplay, but hopefully I can return after she was paired with Karlach.
Syvne is a seductive dancer by day, and a hidden spy at night. She fled her home of Ched Nasad upon its destruction, and travelled throughout Western Faerun to re-build her career from scratch. She eventually settled in Sharess’ Caress where Nym and Sorn became her sibling-figures, and she holds quite the reputation under her alias Sangris Virago.
I definitely have more Tavs and Durges that will eventually get the spotlight, but I’ve worked with these three in particular during every hyperfixated opportunity 😂. Other than my plan for Vulgaris, I’d love to make dedicated posts for each of my characters if there’s an interest!
Thank you! 🥄

You’re playing Baldur’s Gate 3 right? If Astrid were Tav (hope that makes sense), what would her class and backstory be? Who would she romance? :3c
I love this question – thank you so much for asking. I haven’t been able to play lately because the game keeps crashing on me sob sob so this has helped fill that BG3 shaped hole my my heart <3
So obviously I had to try and make her in the character creator and thankfully the game stayed stable enough for me to make a base even though it took 5 failed launch attempts
None of the character faces or hairstyles were right, so I just picked the closest and fiddled around a bit on procreate.
I’m going to stick the rest of my ramblings under a read more because I don’t to submit any poor unwitting bugger to that if they’re just trying to scroll their dash in peace
*also potential small BG3 spoilers below so read at your own risk*
If we’re staying super loyal to OG Astrid’s character then she’d be a Bard, simply because she doesn’t really have any combat training and she’s highly adept at wielding her wit and her words. But if I were going to give her a fighting style, I think she’d multi-class as Rogue and Cleric. I can imagine her dual-wielding daggers or short swords, taking out her enemies with a wink and a witty one liner, and also having an affinity for light-based spells and divination.
Her set BG3 background would definitely be Entertainer - “You live to sway and subvert your audience, engaging common crowds and high society alike”. From a narrative perspective I’d say that she grew up in the lower city with her mother, and they didn’t have an awful lot of money. Astrid would be Half-Elf, and her mother a Wood Elf (although for some reason likely derived from snobbery she pretends that she’s a High Elf). Astrid wouldn’t know anything about her father other than he’s human. Years later, when she’s around 16 years old, she learns that her mother up and left with her as a baby and moved to Balder’s Gate to ‘avoid her getting too attached to a mortal parent’. This would be the straw on the camels back for Astrid and she cuts ties and moves out. She gets a serving job at The Blushing Mermaid in exchange for room and board - and gradually becomes a skilled mixologist. It’s also where she would learn any fighting skills, given that it isn’t the most salubrious establishment in the city. Gal’s gotta know how to protect herself after all.
As for who she’d 💜Romance💜 — I’ve pin-balled between several answers because I think there are multiple viable options. Astrid has this wonderful openness about her that means she could potentially forge a connection with a few of the companions…
She’d be very close with Karlach simply because they’re both so similar. They’re both bright and perky, with positive personalities. I think they’d be absolute best buddies and would cause infuriating amounts of trouble together. Sisters from other misters <3
I think she’d grow close to Wyll because of their shared history of Tricky Parents™️. There might even be a spark of attraction between them at the start, but the more they get to know each other, the more they realise that they ultimately aren’t suited to each other in a romantic sense. Wyll needs someone settled and reliable, and Astrid needs someone with an edge that keeps her on her toes.
She’d accept the advances of Lae’zel and Halsin - but these wouldn’t develop beyond casual flings. And she’d definitely have a big whooping fat crush on Raphael (although I don’t think she’d sleep with Haarlep - she’d only be interested in the real-deal devil).
I think she’d have a soft spot for Gale. But I can’t decide whether or not it would develop into something deeper. I think Astrid they’d have good banter and Astrid would absolutely love teasing him. I think she’d offer him a lot of support and advice when it came to Mystra, and she’d be a real source of comfort for him. I can see Gale developing a crush on her, but I think it would be one-sided and he’d eventually move on once he accepts that nothing can come of it.
Ultimately, I think she’d end up fully romancing Astarion surprise surprise. He shares a lot of similarities with Silco’s character that we know Astrid is drawn to - morally grey, tortured soul, sarcastic humour. They’re also both very used to masking their true feelings and avoid getting close to anyone out of a sense of self-protection. I also just think their personalities would mesh together really well, and they’d be best friends as well as lovers. The flirting would be insufferable. They’d definitely end up going down the non-ascended route too <3

I've been struggling to be motivated to do any writing or much of anything lately. I won't go deep into it, but I did this to just do some writing for fun. It's been healing. Just two little drabbles.
I apologize to those who don't want more BG3 shenanigans. This is about my Tavs, Beryl (Wood Elf Warlock Bard) and Tessa (Human Rogue Ranger), because I love them. I might keep them as just DnD characters to play in the future or give them their own unique story.
If you're a BG3 fan, I'm sorry about getting my brain babies all over everything.
It Wasn't Kindness
Beryl couldn’t even remember why she was in Baldur’s Gate to begin with. It was probably nothing more than a layover to where she actually wanted to be. It all seemed so unimportant now. Until this tadpole in her head was dealt with, she wouldn’t be able to focus on much else. Getting off the Nautiloid had been her first priority.
Gaining party members had been a side effect of her journey. The first person the Wood Elf had encountered was Lae’zel. The Githyanki was a formidable but vexatious ally. She was the right amount of unhinged, topped with a refreshing bluntness. You were never left wondering where you stood with Lae’zel. Beryl could work with that.
As they made their way off the Nautiloid, Beryl and Lae’zel came across Tessa, a human rogue, trying to pry a half-elf out of one of the pods. The woman was desperate for this help which Lae’zel was hesitant to give. Beryl nearly walked on by but something compelled her to stay. Maybe she was getting soft or just stupid.
Once free, the half-elf would introduce herself as Shadowheart. It turned out to be for the best since she was a cleric. It always helped to have one on your team. Tessa found her own way of being annoying: she was too fucking nice.
Beryl wrote her off as an idiot who would probably get them killed. Yet her skills would be helpful. And Beryl couldn’t turn any of them away, could she? It wasn’t out of kindness, of course. That would be silly. They all needed each other to survive this. It wasn’t deeper than that.
As they traveled forth, the group kept growing. Tessa was insistent on saving Gale of Waterdeep from the sigil. The wizard was grateful and Beryl would be remiss if she didn’t admit having a wizard around is a good idea.
Astarion was different. He had greeted Beryl with a knife to the throat. Yet she admired his moxie. The pretty face didn’t hurt either. Tessa seemed more annoyed by how easily Beryl let him join them after attacking her.
“I’ll take responsibility if he does anything untoward, dont worry,”
“Like holding a knife to your neck?”
“Oh, would you let that go?” Beryl was tired of this conversation.
“Gods, you really can get away with anything if you have a pretty face.”
“Not that you would know anything about that.” Beryl immediately regretted the words. She sounded so much like her mother in that sentence. She sighed, prepared to swallow her pride and apologize.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that, it was a knee-jerk reaction.”
But to her surprise, Tessa was laughing.
“Your words have no sting,” Tessa said. “Just something a very hurt person says when backed into a proverbial corner.”
Beryl scowled at the accusation.
“You’re forgiven.” Tessa’s tone was obnoxiously saccharine. Beryl made a mental note to never apologize to her again.
“We need all the help we can get.” Beryl felt the need to defend her decision suddenly. “It can’t hurt having two rogues with us.”
Tessa mulled this over. “I guess, but if he kills anyone here, it’s on you. And he better not kill me. I’ll be particularly angry about it.”
Beryl nodded, accepting the terms of the agreement. This seemed to appease Tessa.
The other companions weren’t any less drama free, especially when Wyll and Karlach joined. Beryl wasn’t used to playing peacemaker, but she had managed to keep Wyll and Karlach from killing one another. Beryl was used to traveling alone. Solving other people’s quarrels was not her forte and yet here she was. Doing just that.
But she wasn’t doing this out of kindness. None of this was kindness. It was survival, just like she’d been taught. She didn’t care about any of these people.
She couldn’t care about them. It would be a weakness and weakness means death.
So no. It wasn’t kindness.
It wasn't.
Right In Front of My Party?
“It’s quite thrilling, to fight off such grim creatures as this region throws at us. Especially being at your side.”
Tessa and Gale locked eyes. He spoke to her as if she were the only person in the world. In that moment, she was at least to him. Despite the entire band of misfits standing just behind them, forced to witness this display of overt horniness.
“I once read a book that explained in some detail the effect a brush with dangers has on one’s desire for… other forms of stimulation. Have you ever read anything on that subject?”
Beryl furrowed her brow. Was he really doing this here? In front of everyone?
The wood elf glanced around the group, searching for an ally in her confusion. Karlach watched with an adoring look on her face, like she was watching a romance novel unfold. Wyll gave a sly thumbs up to Gale to encourage him. He had been playing the role of wingman for Gale so Beryl couldn’t feign surprise at it.
Shadowheart was unmoved. Lae’zel didn’t seem as disgusted by it as Beryl thought she would be. It made some sense given how much githyanki connected love and fighting. The group had seen how true that was first hand through Shadowheart and Lae’zel’s unique romance.
Beryl believed Lae’zel felt nothing but hatred for Shadowheart, especially after catching them at each other’s throats one night. But only a few nights later, Beryl had heard sounds from Lae’zel’s tent that seemed to indicate they had more than buried the hatchet.
Beryl struggled for some kind of sex pun, but it eluded her. Lae’zel buried her hatchet in Shadowheart’s? No. No, that was bad.
Shadowheart was “the source of her bruises.” Of course, she wouldn’t mind whatever it was Gale was doing right now.
Astarion had a mischievous grin, enjoying the show. He was so adept at that act of flirting, it wasn’t a surprise he was relishing Gale’s awkwardness. It was like a wild animal studying a caged one.
Beryl turned to Tessa. She had to be mortified––
“Read?” Tessa gave a flirtatious smirk. “I could have written the thing.”
These absolute freaks. Tessa looked ready to jump his bones.
“I believe you. You never looked so beautiful as at the end of a stirring battle, your cheeks flushed, gaze bright, muscles glistening,” he continued. “Perhaps it’s just the thrill of our near-death experience talking. But standing at your side through such darkness and disrepair, it only makes me want you more.”
Gale paused to regroup himself. “Unfortunately this is neither the time nor place to indulge such feelings. So, we must be patient and push all such thoughts aside. For now.”
Though a bit disappointed, Tessa nodded in agreement. Gale placed a hand on the small of her back to guide her to the Last Light Inn.
Beryl hated that she was happy for her two humans. She should have just been embarrassed for them, yet her brain signaled to her that this was “cute.”
“Pity,” Astarion commented with a fanged smile. “I thought we’d be getting a show. I can’t say I wouldn’t have enjoyed it, even if it involved Gale.”
Beryl met Astarion’s eyes. He seemed to be drinking her in. Beryl couldn’t keep her grin at bay when he sent attention her way. While she knew Astarion was using her either for sex or something else, she did appreciate his boldness. He got to the point. He didn’t waste time on conversations about books and battlefields. He just asked if you wanted to have sex.
“Don’t you agree?” Astarion’s voice was dangerously low. Beryl’s eyes widened, taken aback. She nodded slowly. Oh no. Oh no, oh no. They were flirting over the idea of those two having sex on the battlefield.
Pleased by the confession, Astarion began to follow the rest of the group to the inn.
“Don’t fall behind, my sweet,” Astarion noted. “You don’t want to be caught in the shadows.”
Beryl didn’t need to be told twice.
Gods, she was an absolute freak, too.

Hi, I'm Bec, just another bg3 player on Tumblr dot com. Made a sideblog so I don't flood my main with bg3 reblogs. I will also be posting more general dnd stuff from time to time, especially since some of my bg3 ocs are either based on characters I played in campaigns, or went from bg3 to being played in a campaign.
I do art and write some fic, but I don't share a whole lot.
Ask box is open. I'd love to answer questions about bg3, dnd in general, my ocs- pretty much anything, really.
Also sorry for the lack of durges, but I really can't think of much original stuff in terms of backstory so I've kind of left that alone
Basics about my ocs:
Izzrhys Illith'vir (my main Tav, subject of a majority of art/fic stuff, I'm playing him in a dnd campaign as well)- he/him, drow, oath of devotion paladin with 2 levels in life cleric, neutral good. Romancing Gale
Aesir Corvus (an actual dnd character I used, used them for my first tactician level bg3 campaign)- they/them, half high elf thief subclass rogue, chaotic good, romancing Wyll. They and Xarek are half-siblings.
Xarek (originally a dnd character I played in a short campaign with my in-laws, turned the Tav for my second attempt at an honor mode playthrough. He won :3)- he/him, half drow fiend patron warlock, chaotic neutral, romancing Karlach. He and Aesir are half-siblings.
Tiresias (technically my Curse of Strahd character, although I did start a bg3 playthrough with him that I'll maybe see through, especially because he feels very morally different from my other ocs.) he/him, grave domain cleric of Loviatar, lawful evil, no romance selected, if I do pick one at all. (Also, side note: I could not find anything that really fit him in cc, so this is as close as I'm getting. I have sketches that I'll post separately.)
Aratris (my first Tav, made for a multi-player campaign), they/them, half-wood elf circle of the moon druid (though they probably spend more time in owlbear form than in humanoid form lmao), true neutral. Romance undecided. Lae'zel romance bugged out in act 1, so they'll probably end up with Halsin. As of right now, it doesn't look like their campaign is ever actually getting finished sadly.
Leoryn (obligatory bard playthrough???) they/she, high elf lore college bard, neutral good, romancing Astarion
Talaak (My one and only Dark Urge who is not fleshed out very much oops)- she/her, silver dragonborn storm sorcerer, neutral evil romancing Minthara
Roszira- she/her, a strongheart halfling who I lovingly refer to as the "world's worst Tav". She's going to multiclass in everything. Yes, everything. Needless to say, she's incredibly indecisive. I made her to do one of the Steam achievements (multiclass into all classes without using withers) and I know there are a million easier ways to do it, but this has just become my fuck around and get achievements playthrough. Chaotic good. Romancing Shadowheart. Update: I got so many achievements with Roszira's save file, and after hers, I only had two left, one of which was completing honor mode. Thank you for your service, Roszira. Sorry I turned you into a squid.
