I just saw a comment about it on Reddit and I need you to be unwell with me about Cleo and Etho bc what if they are the last two survivors at the end of the series??
I can't really imagine they would betray each other just to win but I could see Etho initiating a fight just to end the series and have a winner.
In my heart, they both go up to a high place like the diving board or the tower above spawn and jump and just leave it up to chance as to who wins. Bc they'd never hurt each other. Like when Etho jumped in front of Bdubs shooting a bow at Cleo after the end of session was called. And Cleo is just a ride-or-die for her allies
OH GOD I DON'T KNOW. because. okay the thing is cleo HAS sort of been one of the final two before; when the divorce quartet were the final four of double life. and she COULDN'T BRING HERSELF TO FIGHT IT'S LIKE A HUGE CHARACTER BEAT. pearl and scott read it as "well now we're fighting" but that was all martyn cleo couldn't bring herself to do anything but run. we KNOW what she does in this scenario and what she does is FREEZE UP BECAUSE SHE CAN'T BRING HERSELF TO HURT HER ALLIES.........
but the thing is. this is the season of etho being much more openly and unabashedly loyal. of deliberately sacrificing himself for cleo. he has, from DAY ONE, refused to let cleo go in any way, shape, or form. he seems DETERMINED to get her to win, no matter what, even through things where it is actively to his detriment to do so. he is being! a protector! even though he claims he isn't!
oh god. this would be the cactus ring all over again except EVEN WORSE i think. i think i would explode, horrifically, whatever ends up happening,

Rhaenys Targaryen Fluff Alphabet
A = Affection (Are they physically affectionate in public or just in private?)
It depends on the company. Around trusted individuals, she’s happy to be free and open with her affection for you, but she’s careful around those who may use it against her.
B = Babe (What would they use as pet names? Do they use them a lot?)
Pet names aren’t used a lot with her, aside from the standard ones. But if she stumbles across one that makes you particularly flustered, she will use it more often.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
She definitely doesn’t mind a cuddle. She won’t be quick to admit if/when she needs one, but she won’t refuse if you were to offer.
D = Domestic (What’s it like living with them? Do they do their share of chores?)
With Rhaenys you’ll want for nothing. You help each other dress in the morning, and have anything you want when you want it.
E = Easy (What is the easiest way to win their heart?)
Win over her dragon, and pledge your loyalty to her and she’s in. If you can bond with the creature most precious to her, then there must be something worthy in you.
F = Fun (Where do they take you for fun? Are they flirty?)
She’ll take you for a ride on Meleys, anyplace you want to go in all of Westeros. She’s very flirty when it’s just the two of you. She likes to tease you and make you blush.
G = Gifts (Are they a gift giver? What kind of gifts do they give?)
She can be. It’s not a big habit of hers, but her gifts are always precious and you know they come from the heart.
H = History (What’s their relationship history like? Do they have any plans on settling down?)
There’s Corlys of course, but a princess is allowed her dalliances. If the right person comes along that she wants in her life, she’ll find a way to make it all work.
I = I Love You (Who says I love you first?)
Probably you. She’ll want to keep those words close to her chest until she’s sure of your own feelings for her.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
She can definitely get jealous. Usually it will only be a passing feeling, but if there’s any merit to her jealousy, expect someone to be flayed by dragon’s breath.
K = Kids (How are they around children? Would they want some of their own?)
Rhaenys is a wonderful mother. As for wanting to raise any more kids at this stage in her life, unlikely.
L = Love Language (How do they show their love to you?)
She shows her love by acts of service. Anything you need done that you put off, she finds a way of getting done for you or with you to make your life just a little easier.
M = Meet (How did they meet you?)
Rhaenys met you in the city’s market. She saw the way you paid the merchants just a bit extra for their wares than they were asking, and that small kindness touched her, which led her to introduce herself to you.
N = Nurture (Are they good at taking care of you if you’re hurt/sick?)
She is, yes. She’ll watch over you even to her own detriment of losing sleep and she’ll see that whatever you need be brought to you.
O = Options (What are some things they would like in a partner?)
Loyal, kind and strong are Rhaenys’s top three qualities in a partner.
P = Protective (How protective are they? How would they protect you?)
She’s very protective. She’s lost too much not to be. She’ll risk whatever it takes to keep someone she loves safe.
Q = Quirk (What small habit/feature/quirk do they have that you find especially endearing?)
The way Rhaenys rests her forehead against her dragon is always a marvelous sight for you to see. There’s so much trust and love there that you can’t help but feel it too.
R = Realization (When and what makes them realize they’re in love?)
When she starts to defend you to people who speak ill of you, that’s when she realizes that you’ve become important to her and that she’s falling in love.
S = Sentimental (Are they the sentimental type? What things hold sentimentality for them?)
She’s not overly sentimental, but there are a few things that she keeps close to her heart, usually reminders of a significant moment with each person she’s loved in some way.
T = Try (In what ways do they support or help you?)
In any way she’s able. No favor you ask of her is too big or too small. If you need her help, she’s willing to provide it.
U = Unique (What’s something they’d only do for you?)
Show her sillier side. She has one, but it’s buried deep down, as she’s always been taught it should be. But with you she opens it up and gets to really be herself.
V = Vacation (Where would they take you on vacation? What would you do?)
Again, she’ll take you anywhere for as long as possible, preferably somewhere with a beautiful shoreline. Despite her responsibilities, she’d want to stay away with you forever.
W = Wardrobe (What would they wear to impress you?)
Light blue and gold are the colors she’s always looked most captivating in, so anything in those colors would be suitably impressive.
X = XOXO (How do they kiss?)
There’s no one way that Rhaenys kisses you. They can range from tender to passionate, though each type is just as enjoyable as the next.
Y = Yes (How do you/they propose?)
She asks you with a ring crafted of shed dragon scale. She makes sure that you won’t be interrupted and asks you to remain a part of her life for as long as you or she should live.
Z = Zzz (What are their sleep habits?)
Her sleep is usually quite restful. She doesn’t toss and turn or stir much in the night, but she does rest easier when she knows someone is by her side.

ok listen right
please don't take the implication of what i'm about to say the completely wrong way, there's a point i have to make here
there's this gross thing that happens in LO that's been definitely talked about numerous times (by many people) where fashion is used to label a character's like, "alignment" between "good" "bad" "pure" "tainted" etc. this is something that comes up a lot when discussing Minthe and Persephone because there are a LOAD of double standards in how Minthe was treated and viewed for dressing like a "slut" but then Persephone wears the exact same fit and suddenly she's a queen-
(image courtesy of @anoldplace on Instagram, I'll be showing a couple of their posts in this because they show off a lot of the great - and frankly disturbing - parallels in LO, whether intended by Rachel or not)
-but can we talk about how the "bad ending" version of Persephone where she ends up with Apollo slaps WAY FUCKING HARDER than anything we've seen her dressed in since she got with Hades ??
fucking hello?? where's THAT fit ??
you're telling me this girl is queen of the underworld and the best she can do in the fashion department is looking like a color-swapped version of Hera ???
and I WANNA MAKE THIS PERFECTLY CLEAR, this isn't me trying to say "Persephone would have been way cooler if she got with Apollo", that is FAR from the point, more so just pointing out the pattern of Rachel aligning "bad" with "dresses with more flavor than an extremely out-of-touch conservative boomer". Even when she tries to draw Persephone in more "out there" clothing it just comes across as ... tacky? And only at her own detriment?
Like, how the fuck is this supposed to be Persephone being drawn through a literal male gaze (Apollo):
And THIS is supposed to be Persephone being drawn from a female gaze (her own because she dressed herself):
Like literally how? How does this happen? Especially when the latter is STILL being framed from a male perspective (the green guy behind her, "Jeffrey") but we're supposed to believe it's some "boss babe" moment for Persephone to just be walking down the street while getting oggled inappropriately by a male onlooker? How could these scenes be any more different and yet more alike? She's still being objectified for the characters around her and the audience, but we're supposed to believe the second is better than the first one because... she chose to wear that?
Sure, one could argue that at least she dressed herself and that definitely gives her agency, but it's really Rachel telling on herself where her priorities are in trying to write a "feminist comic" that she had Persephone dress herself and then STILL have its only purpose be for men on the sidelines to stare at and objectify her. When you just know this same outfit would have undoubtedly been used to slut shame characters like Minthe or Thetis or Leuce.
I don't even know, man. The intentions in LO's writing are so confused, contradictory, and ultimately pointless. It's trying so hard to be "feminist" and a "deconstruction of purity culture" but then it turns around and reinforces all that same shit it's claiming to be fighting against anyways. Persephone would be an evil slut if she was with Apollo, look at her outfit! But not here, not the banana purse dress being oggled by strangers on the sidewalk, not now that she settled down with her old rich husband who she only knew for a couple weeks before being separated for 10 years but their love was just so strong and the thirst for dick so real that she and him loyally waited for one another until she was old enough to make it "not be creepy" anymore for them to hook up, but only after marriage. She's definitely not a gold digger like Minthe or a vapid slut like Thetis or a homewrecker like Leuce, nah.
I just wish she'd dress herself, for the love of god. Let her dress herself with her own input and not the influence of the people around her or the tone of the comic's own internalized misogyny that demands "woman must always be objectified for better or for worse, that is The Rule!"
Of course she can't "dress herself" though. She's an extension of Rachel and Rachel herself writes like an out-of-touch boomer who will and has gladly gone about how men are just clamoring at the bit to stare at her and get to her... but then claims she "didn't realize sexism was all that bad" until she started working on LO.
Sorry, this post got very long and very mean, I initially just wanted to make the comparison in a very silly haha "wild how bad ending Persephone has way more visual personality than good ending Persephone" way, but then I thought about it too long and pissed myself off LMAO
And no, I don't want to go back to beating the dead horse of "banana dress bad" because honestly, I think in any other context or comic, sure, it would be very cute to see her walking around in an outfit she chose herself even if it's "objectively" not a great outfit, it shows agency and not caring what other people think which is VERY freeing. But we're not reading that comic, we're reading LO, where a woman's worth and value is only determined by how the men around her react to her and only Persephone is allowed to be empowered by wearing outfits that would otherwise be treated as "slutty" if worn by anyone else.
I don't want the message to be "Persephone looks like a dumbass bimbo" or, on the flipside, "Persephone looks boring and out-of-touch", I want the message to be "Persephone is valid for dressing how she wants, just like how the women around her are valid for dressing how they want regardless of whether or not they're protagonists or antagonists."
Quit using women's fashion as an alignment chart, quit using these "not so sly for a misogynist guy" dogwhistles as a way to "other" the women around the power fantasy main character. Women deserve to dress how they want without shame or objectification - all women, not just the women you like.

Funny thing is if the show goes that Adam has always been an asshole they would also be contradicting themselves. Because the other plot, which ties in with Lucifer in that there was no free will before the apple. So they’re telling me there was no free will yet, Adam was able to be an asshole and Lilith was able to leave? To me that’s either fishy or a big plot hole.
If Adam was controlling I don’t think there was any malice behind it. Maybe he was more loyal to heaven as he saw them as their creators and Lilith had issues with it, idk. It is interesting that maybe Lucifer didn’t care and saw them like pets. He was an angel with different outlooks than a human. Maybe that’s why he gave up on sinners quickly. He never thought about the negative side of free will. Meanwhile Charlie grew up seeing sinners and now has the hotel. Unlike Lucifer she has an emotional tie to her cause.
I won’t be surprised if there’s more to the Eden story.
So I absolutely think Hazbin Hotel could JUST have that plot hole and make Adam an asshole from the start lol, no offense to Hazbin. But you are ABSOLUTELY right that it wouldn't make any sense.
In fact, if we go to biblical doctrine, sin isn't even introduced to humanity until after the apple, so bad attitudes and bad behavior and all that didn't exist before it. But even if we don't go to that, Hazbin does explicitly say that the apple gave them free will, it's the knowledge of good and evil and getting the will to act upon that knowledge. Adam didn't know what was good and what was wrong, he just did what he was told.
Lilith is definitely an interesting case because she didn't want to obey from the start, and unlike Eve, she wasn't tempted by an outside influence. I'm not expecting Hazbin to adhere to the christian theology I was taught though, so what do I know lol
But yes I absolutely think the concept of Lucifer seeing humans differently is interesting. If I had to choose, I'd say Heaven saw them as kind of pet projects, experiments, creations of God, etc. Lucifer probably humanized them more and that's why he fell in love with Lilith and treats Lilith as an equal, but I think his angelic nature combined with the fact that he was raised by angels, means that he has just that tiiiiiny disconnect from humans. Maybe he doesn't see them as outright pets, but still much lesser beings than him, with the only exception being Lilith probably.
And then Charlie, as you said, having grown up around sinners, sees herself pretty much on their level, even if she IS more important and more powerful, she's managed to get into relationships where they both feel like equals. This is often to her detriment, since she's shown multiple times to have a hard time getting into her princess role, but it's made her relationships with sinners much more balanced.

Introducing the Jekyll Estate staff
|
|
- Mrs. Jessica ‘Harpy’ Harpshire is Jekyll’s tightly wound and stiff-lipped housekeeper. Hired shortly after Poole, Mrs. Harpshire has been well acquainted with the Jekyll family since Henry’s boyhood. She has seen it all, and subsequently knows how to keep things in order… even without the presence of her beloved husband John. Deemed ‘the Harpy’ by Bradshaw, she is respected and feared by nearly all of the staff (Poole being the only exception).
- Mr. Steven Poole is the eldest and most tenured member of the staff. Poole has performed many roles within the house over his twenty years of service as head butler and valet to Dr. Jekyll and his father. Loyal to a fault, Poole will see to it that his master’s house and reputation is kept in perfect condition, come any trial that may arise.
- Mrs. Lillian Davies is Jekyll’s cook and head laundress. After severely injuring her leg in an east end wash house, Mrs. Davies found herself and her three children in desperate need for work and shelter. Enter Dr. Jekyll. When she is not in the kitchen preparing for lavish dinner parties or ensuring the master does not starve himself to death, Mrs. Davies spends her time instilling her values of hard work and integrity to her children.
- Mr. Niles Bradshaw serves as Jekyll’s footman and unofficial jester (much to everyone’s dismay). Jovial and charismatic, Bradshaw ensures that the house is never entirely quiet. His good looks are readily used to incite the attention of any woman he encounters, but unfortunately for him, never quite seem to catch the eye of the one person he actually wants to notice him…
- Ms. Valentine Davies is the youngest member of the staff at 15 years old, but her age is hardly noticed in the wake of her shining character and determination. After working several years under her mother’s tutorage as a scullery maid, Valentine worked herself through the ranks to become one of Jekyll’s housemaids. Kindhearted and empathic, Valentine is quick to endear herself to nearly everyone she encounters.
- Ms. Emily Waller is Jekyll’s infamously levelheaded chambermaid. Having come from several houses prior to working at No. 28 Leicester Sq, Emily has learned how to thrive in the cutthroat world of service, even if it is to her detriment. She is quiet, wise beyond her years, and knows far more than she would ever dare to say aloud, even to her friend and coworker Valentine.

What a Sonetto and Vertin "breakup" would look like (aka the Foundation finally forcing Sonetto to choose Vertin or the Foundation)
(Aka I will start throwing random fic ideas to people here in hope more fics are written for R1999, and because Im better at anaylsis than writing a coherent story with dialogue lol)
A running theory of sorts Ive had for a while in terms of main story (global friendly btw) is the critical point in Vertin and Sonetto's relationship, that at one point Sonetto will be forced to choose between Vertin and the Foundation. It is inevitable that Vertin's quest for the truth of the Storm, her mother and desire to save as many people from the Storm will and has come into conflict with the wishes of the Foundation - as seen in Book 3 with the Reformation Bill.
So what will finally cause such a dire situation to force Sonetto into such a situation? @sleeplesssmoll brought this idea that its Vertin that creates this tension, taking a path even the loyal puppy cannot fathom to follow and default to the Foundation. I would wager the Manus will present an offer so beneficial to Vertin that she will eventually side or at the very least need to partner with the Manus for a bit. Much to the surprise of everyone.
(Lets say on a critical mission either Sophia or FMN present a particular good offer to Vertin, a solution where very risky in Vertin's eyes may be the solution she is looking for - maybe the opportunity to save reversed individuals or a way to bring them back, the only thing stopping Vertin accepting on the spot is her being called away by fighting against Manus forces. Still the offer still stands)
What exactly? Maybe it is information about the Storm (we know so far either the Foundation or the Manus know the full intent of the Storm, only finding ways to benefit from it. And yes the Foundation does benefit from the Storm, Ill talk about this at a later point). Alongside this Manus proposal the Foundation has started to crack down on Vertin, pressuring her for more results and attempting in every way to limit her actions - this pressure starts becoming very intense on Vertin, even with Madam Z's aid her workload is needlessly increasing and borderline impossible to stop. We dont know who the White Marble House is, only that they are the ultimate power in the Foundation - maybe it is them holding all the secrets to Vertin's past that they choose to hide.
What I am getting at is a situation where the Foundation no longer benefits Vertin, instead is just detrimental that this starts to waver her alr shakey relationship with the Foundation. Less and less (in small ways) does she comply to their wishes the more the Foundation (mainly Constantine) look to pressure Sonetto into doing something about it.
Sonetto slowly (but noticeably) starts to question Vertin, Constantine's influence does have a large impact on Sonetto, making her second guess herself and her confidence (Book 3 gaslighting). Sure Vertin doesn't mind Sonetto's questions, she loves to answer Sonetto's inquires about the outside world but recently the questions have been ... concerning.
Questioning her goals, is what she is doing even correct; all framed as Sonetto's genuine concern but unconsciously laced with Constantine's influence enough for Vertin to feel pressure on all sides.
Until suddenly something happens, big enough for Vertin to finally express her frustration at everything, the Foundation refusing to cooperate with her as before, this feeling of a bottleneck hold growing tighter and tighter until now she cannot simply brush aside and bottle down. This spirals out in a mission in a cave, maybe alongside Foundation operatives under Constantine that start to question Vertin's leadership, where Sonetto can do nothing to help.
(Its hard to write Vertin actually voicing her frustration)
An argument might break between Sonetto and Vertin, not a full on screaming match of course, but a noticeable outcry of frustration at Sonetto, Constantine and the Foundation - at how every time Vertin suddenly gains ground or takes a step towards the truth the Foundation finds ways to circumvent this progress under the mantra "For the Good of Mankind". Maybe Vertin finally does voice this frustration at Sonetto just accepting everything, a crack in that Timekeeper facade Vertin always holds - all the signs are there Sonetto, why can't you see? Or rather why don't you see the world with your own eyes? Not clouded by Foundation dogma but truly your own eyes?
At this point Vertin chooses to go with the Manus, recreating that scene in the Breakaway (will some of the suitcase follow her? I wouldn't think so, many join Vertin due to their grievances with the Manus). Sonetto is finally ordered to restrain Vertin against their wishes - and Sonetto with only a moment hesitation begins her attack.
(I really do like fight scenes in fics huh?)
Vertin only can outsmart Sonetto here, Sonetto isn't the Foundation's failsafe for her without good reason. Maybe she fakes Sonetto greatly injuring her to incapacitate her temporarily. Enough to run away and create distance, through the collapsing of the cave they are in. @sleeplesssmoll brought up an idea that Sonetto says a line that mirrors the one she said in Book : "It was the pleasure to be your Chief Assistant, Vertin".
(Thoughts? Feel free to run with this and make something out of it, and feel free to run any ideas with me about this)
(I have a couple ideas of scenarios running around I might throw here, its a mixed bag between angst and fun, ill post them eventually)

something about lucy gray telling snow that trust is far more important than love and that if she couldn't trust him he would be dead to her (and then actually fulfilling that promise by fleeing from him/attempting to injure him with a snakebite).
then, so many years later, katniss shares the exact same philosophy: choosing to serve herself because the only person she can trust is herself, and wanting to distance herself as far as possible from a person she perceives as an untrustworthy threat. and even when he claims to have loved her for years (which is actually true to some extent and not just a fantasy fed to the capitol to gain sponsors) she doesn't care about any of that (believing it to be a fiction created to win the game) when he acts in a way that makes him seemingly untrustworthy by joining the career pack. because of peeta's behavior katniss acts to ensure her own survival and doesn't attempt to secure his - not because she's heartless or unempathetic, or as a grab for power, but simply because she has no reason to. so by all means, she parallels snow's worldview of betraying others for the sake of self-servititude, except that that's not who she is and that isn't necessarily the case. when peeta chooses katniss and risks his life/pain and torture at the careers' hands for her survival, its an act of trust and faith and solidarity. and that's all katniss needs to care for him and want to preserve his life (and then later she choose to do so once the change to the rules, the fact that two victors are now allowed, gives her the power to). it was not a declaration of love for show, to provide the capitol with an entertaining performance, that wins her over. rather, it was an act of trust and loyalty that cemented this side of katniss's nature: the loyal and protective side that fights for the people she cares about and can trust.
romantic love wasn't nearly as important to katniss as the ability to trust someone. and in her interactions with her mother (and the distance katniss maintained between them because she couldn't trust mrs everdeen after she neglected katniss), katniss also shows that other forms of love, in this case: the familial kind, wasn't as much of a priority to her as trust was. gale, who was helpful and consistent and a reliable support system for her, was someone whom she held in high esteem. as such, katniss shares lucy gray's values of trust and loyalty and sees them to be of greater importance than love. she sees no logic in feeling betrayed by peeta wanting to be coached separately because there was no connection of trust between them to begin with. but unlike snow and lucy gray, the trust between katniss and peeta only strengthens with time, and katniss defies snow's worldview and expectations for her by choosing to help her lover and friend even at the detriment of her own survival.
katniss exhibits some of the same traits and values that snow and lucy gray do, but she and her relationship with peeta have this key fundamental difference: the existence of, and continuation of, trust.

What miraculous do you think are the ideal matches for the madrigals?
Also I love your art
It depends on if you want to go by a strict gift basis or personality. Some of those aren't exclusive though-
TLDR-
Julieta- Wayzz, Alma- Nooroo or Liiri, Pepa- Daizzi/Longg, Bruno- Sass or Tikki, Felix- Diazzi, Augustin- Kalkki, Isabela- Pollen, Dolores- Longg or Barkk, Luisa- Pollen & Duusu, Camilo- Pollen, Antonio- Duusu/unclear, and Mirabel- any of them really.
Bonus Turtle Julieta who didn't make it into AVB- Her name is Hicotea
Julieta for example I think would do well with the turtle both because it's the closest to her gift (since besides the ladybug there isn't a healing power) and I think she and Wayzz would get along well.
Alma would theoretically either have the butterfly (Matriarch deal) or the Ladybug and Cat. But I don't think she'd get along with any of the kwamis very well. Maybe Liiri, but she'd not here.
Pepa would power wise have the dragon, and I think in personality it fits okay. But I would personally either give her Wayzz or Daizzi. Possibly also Orikko.
Bruno would have either Fluff or Sass based on his gift and I think he'd get along with both. I also think he and Tikki would get along (hence Cochineal) and Plagg would have a similar dynamic with him that he does with Adrien, albeit less parental/familial, more platonic. I think he and Mullo would also get along.
Felix would get along with Daizzi, Ziggy, or Orikko. All three seem to thrive on holders with high energy and positive attitude
Augustin could do well with Wayzz and possible Kaalki, since she's probably help with his clumsiness through sheer determination. As well as Stompp who would go "Fuck it, lets just throw shit." I gave him Sass in AVB since I figured he'd be willing to try a million times to get it right, but its not my fist pick.
Isabela would probably do best with Pollen, both because haha Bee, but also- Pollen is a very loyal bee. She calls Isabela her queen but if her queen wants to throw color bombs and do fancy acrobatics with vines? Bravo! Keep going. I stand by the idea that Isabela and Longg could never really get along. Second choices would be Xuppu or Trixx since they'd encourage her to have fun but Trixx for sure would not let her get away with being bitchy. Tikki would also probably do her good.
Dolores could still do well with Mullo at the best of times but I'd be more inclined to give her Pollen, Longg, or Barkk. Pollen and Long would be very respectful of her sensitive hearing while still helping push her, and Barkk would bite anyone being too loud. She is very loyal. Dolores would probably also do well with Plagg for the simple fact he is high demand for food, but very apathetic the rest of the time.
Luisa would match with Roaar in terms of gifts but personality wise I think Pollen, Duusu, Kalkki, or Barkk. With I think Pollen or Duusu being the strongest two.
Camilo would match with Trixx for powers but I wasn't kidding in A Lawless Cat when I said I thought he'd make a good Bee. They're leaders and need to hold attention, but can get in a good sting if you turn your back. Other pick would be Orikko.
Antonio I think does well with the Peacock but otherwise he's a bit to young to know what other miraculous he would thrive with. His compassion would potentially also do well with the butterfly.
And now Mirabel, the character who i think has the widest picks.
Sticking to Cannon Encanto Mirabel I still think she'd have the widest variety. Obviously Nooroo is the top pick, Mirabel likes to help people but most of the time she's teaching them to help themselves first. Even to her own detriment. I think she and Tikki would thrive as two creative spirits, same with Ziggy. Her compassion and good understanding of feelings and others, would make her do well with Duusu. Plagg would encourage ehr to fight for herself, Liiri would want her to break free. Xuupu, Trixx, Orikko, and Diazzi would help her bring fun back into her life as well as spread her strengths to others. She's intuitive enough to work well with Sass, Roarr would push her to take power into her hands and be heard. Stompp would teach her to defend herself. The only kwami I think she wouldn't get on perfectly with is Longg, but even then it wouldn't be particularly bad. It's just that- Mirabel has specifically gone her whole life seeing herself as Imperfect which would strain her connection to him.

Ranma 1/2 inspired musing from the recent posts, but I never got the "Nabiki is the only evil character/Nabiki is the worst" thing. Either from the author or fanbase.
Like, the Nerima Wrecking Crew has that name for a reason XD
Even the like, five nicest people are all kind of either dicks or so extreme that you wouldnt want to hazard being around them. That's where the comedy comes from, its tons of super powered teens but there's no villains to fight so its all just petty feuds and schemes with their parents somehow all being worse but equally petty and mundane.
Honor is less about conduct than it is about ego and not looking stupid. Cheating is basically what you make of it. & doing something solely for selfish reasons is a major motive for much of the cast, again this is what makes it funny XD It'd be like if the Miraculous got distributed but there was no villain to fight so everyone just griefs each other or causes random trouble for shits and giggles.
For reference the five nicest are:
Kasumi, who despite being the only adult with agency still threw Akane under the bus into the arranged marriage and inadvertently gave her little sister a complex about her own femininity. But is also hypocritically quick to rely on Akane's skill in violence when there's a suspicious noise, even arming her to be more deadly.
Konatsu is loyal to a fault and will basically take any kindness as the best thing ever. But even ignoring that, that's a response to having basically been Cinderella. Konatsu is still surprisingly willing to jump to murder and if more loyal to say, Ukyo than Ranma, well sorry bud, but Konatsu is willing to sabotage your wedding with knives & more.
Ukyo, generally quite affable but can have a violent temper like most of the cast, and definitely not above a sneaky scheme to engineer a break up. & also very willing to take advantage of a bad situation, even if she can also end up being helpful too. Plus again, down for murder XD
Ranma, while generally willing to help people in trouble, Ranma is also totally willing to sabotage those same people for her own gain. She tends to fight fair (Mostly) because its too big of a wound to her ego to win via underhanded methods as opposed to a moral issue. Her ego is also so immense it can lead to very selfish or destructive behaviors (Both to others & herself) & to being smug & antagonistic.
Akane, much like Ranma she has a huge ego and does not take well to stuff like her cooking causing literal food poisoning. IE, she's decided she his or has to be good/right about this so she is or will be and if she bulldozes people in the process... Well she won't notice. She can also be intensely quick to judge to he or others detriment and as with the others, can have an explosive temper.
None of this makes them evil, or even unlikable, I love all these characters and the Amazon, Rygoa and more. Whether I want to read tons of complex depth into their head-spaces or just take them as surface level teens who have a lot of power and temperamental about it.
I just don't find Nabiki's to be notably different than to anyone else. Especially, if we compare to the Amazons who are fine with memory erasure and hostage taking, Kuno being the one to buy the pictures, Kodachi and her school friend both being up for kidnapping, ETC.
Again, this is all absurdist comedy so its not meant to be taken too seriously, and given the sheer scale of murder, kidnaping and unhinged romantic efforts going on, Nabiki is not that stand out.
Honestly it's been. A while. Since I've read through all of Ranma and I don't really remember Nabiki being.... that bad?
Like she's. She's far from the nicest person. But everyone in this series is kind of a dick? And yeah she's far from the worst the series has to offer.

Get To Meet Cameron
Kofi blog post! (they don't have a read more option so you will get later season spoilers if you click on this link!)
Feel free to send in questions about the characters!
Reminder that Season 1 spoilers are Above the read more! Anything revealed later is placed Below the read more!
Cameron
Reminder, content warnings for this podcast include: Unreality, Ableism, Death, Implied Death, Missing Persons
Cameron is one of the main side characters for the podcast. She's smart, she's funny, she's a lesbian. She is also completely terrified of being alone!
She also meets her love interest, Carmelita, in the middle of the first season of the show. They get along really well, even if Cameron's keeping her secrets mainly to herself.
Although if there's one person she really trusts, it's her best friend Shaun! While she's also close friends with Glacie, she's known Shaun longer than she's known them.
However, despite how upbeat she can seem, she tends to avoid anything that reminds her of her family. Having lost them all a while ago. Only entrusting Shaun with knowing what happened after an emotional moment between the two (set before the podcast starts).
She's very loyal to her friends, even to the detriment of herself, and often times has to be told to take a break.

(You can choose to answer as many as you'd like, dw.)

II. GENERAL
What was their first kiss like?
Kissing Clarity can go two ways: Smitten can go vanilla and press his lips on her mask and call it a day. But fortunately for all us, Smitten is a certified princess-sexual freak and he would totally kiss whatever MOC has behind that mask.
On a more serious note, I do think their first kiss is one that is filled with an urgent and ugly kind of desperation. You could say it mirrors how Smitten came to be in Razor but sadder and far more painful. Perhaps as an attempt to try and escape the numerous times she breaks TLQ, an attempt to reconcile and know her heart was done. But it was all for naught of course, for all it did was create another shattered fragment, one that is full of heartbreak that bleeds and tears itself apart trying to make sense why his love never reached the Princess and set them free. Perhaps Smitten's nature as blind devotion wasn't enough to fully understand her and this breaks him further. If his love is lacking, then what else is he supposed to be?
What is their height difference? Age difference? Do either matter to them?
Clarity is definitely taller than Smitten, even if she's not floating around. I like to think MOC drapes herself all over Smitten as her way of showing affection or her power over him. Maybe place him on her lap for Clarity to pet. But their height or age don't really matter to them as both are still just pieces of their respective gods.
What are their parallels, whether in their personalities or their histories?
Both are persistent and unyielding. Clarity continued to break TLQ again and again for however long the entire sequence from Nightmare to MOC was, showing how much she's willing to do anything and how patient she is just to get what she wants. Smitten is loyal and known for his devotion to the Princess throughout the game, not allowing any negative opinions of her affect him in the slightest even to his own detriment. Both came to be through painful means, Smitten by getting stabbed repeatedly in the chest or betrayed by Witch in an attempt to break the narrative and MOC by being abandoned and denied the chance to be known to the only other creature that can possibly know her.
Their love is a double-edged sword, it will always hurt them and the people they care about.
III. LOVE
What are their primary love languages?
Smitten's is very keen on physical touch. Good thing MOC no longer stops the entire autonomic system when touching her now, right? Ah, but there will still be lingering static that raises Smitten's feathers when they hold hands, a literal shock going through him that makes his heart literally skip a beat when he attempts to hug her. He would always be near her, whether to assure her that he's still there for her or because a literal magnetic force pulls him to her.
I kinda see Clarity giving Smitten gifts and other stuff, mostly inspired by her dialogue of the gilded cage in game. But she likes to encourage and praise Smitten more often than giving him gifts, acknowledging his love and devotion to her and doing her best to return the favor by showering him with so much loving words.
What kind of nicknames do they call each other?
Clarity likes to call Smitten as "her little honeysuckle" and Smitten cannot settle for one nickname to call her because for him, she deserves all the wonderful and lovely nicknames all languages could offer!
#slay the princess#novem asks#voice of the smitten#stp the moment of clarity#no shipname for moc/smitten?!?!?!?!#damn 😔

Dating Weird Barbie Would Include:
Well... it's not exactly what you might expect. She can be pretty weird, quirky, and even strange at times. She's also very sarcastic, which can be off-putting to some people. But once you get past all of that, she's actually a pretty sweet, and very loyal person. She just likes to keep things interesting and light. She's also very patient and understanding, and she'll always try to see the best in someone. Overall, she's definitely not everyone's cup of tea.. but those who stick around tend to think of her as a pretty amazing girlfriend!
Dating her is a rather unique experience. She's not one of those who loves flirting and cooing sweet nothings, after all. I suppose you could say she's more of a playful teasing type. She loves to watch people squirm and try to figure her out, and she especially loves it when her teasing gets under your skin and makes you grow flustered.
Dating her has its ups and downs, sometimes she is very sweet and kind, but other times she can be a bit difficult and frustrating to deal with. She's a very complex person and she's not always easy to understand. She's loyal and cares a lot about her partner and friends, but she can also be very needy and insecure. Sometimes, when she's down, she'll become depressed and withdraw herself from everyone like she used to. She can be unpredictable at times and sometimes, her mood can change very quickly. Dating her is never boring that's for sure.
You'll be constantly amazed by her ability to surprise you, both in a good and bad way. She is a very open-minded and passionate individual, who will gladly take the lead and encourage you to try new things. Expect the unexpected as she's willing to try anything once. If you're looking for someone who's going to challenge you and keep you on your toes, weird Barbie has all the qualities of a perfect partner.
She is a very understanding and supportive girlfriend, who will always be by your side no matter what. She may have that wild spirit that keeps you on your toes, but, she's also compassionate and considerate of your needs and feelings. Being in a relationship with her can feel like riding a rollercoaster, filled with thrills and highs, followed by an unexpected and thrilling plunge.
She has a deep and soulful side to her personality that manifests itself in unexpected ways. She is not afraid to get creative, explore different artistic avenues, and express herself in unique ways. If you are someone who appreciates genuine human connection and wants to be with someone who brings out the best in you, weird Barbie might just be the doll of your dreams.
Weird Barbie is also a great listener and will always want to hear about your day and what's going on in your life. She'll support you through thick and thin and won't hesitate to provide her honest thoughts and advice, even if you might not like what she has to say. She offers a refreshing perspective in a relationship, making her a very refreshing and inspiring partner.
She is also a true romantic at heart and is always looking for opportunities to create a romantic and special atmosphere. She'll gladly surprise you with a thoughtful gesture or gift just to show her affection. She'll also go out of her way to make you smile, and you'll never find yourself lacking in physical affection or attention. Having weird Barbie in your life is like having a beautiful ray of positivity, always shining bright.
Weird Barbie is also a great communicator and will always try to understand your point of view on any issue. She's open to discussing all kinds of topics with you and will always try to come up with solutions to any problems you might be facing in a constructive and respectful way. Along with her other great qualities, she is someone who will always work to understand you, regardless of any differences or obstacles between you two.
She can also be a bit of a drama queen sometimes. While this quality may seem like a detriment at first, it actually makes her such an enjoyable partner. Her over-the-top reactions and willingness to embrace the drama make every situation more entertaining and memorable. While her flair for the dramatic may get a bit tiring at times, it also creates a sense of spontaneity and adventure within your relationship.
When weird Barbie is feeling particularly jealous or threatened in a relationship, she can become overly insecure. She may be more likely to want to know what you're doing all the time, who you're with, and what's going on in your life. She is a strong person and is capable of recognizing when her insecurities are becoming overwhelming.
Weird Barbie is very affectionate. She loves physical touch and will constantly look for ways to express her affection for you, whether it's holding your hand, giving you a hug or even just sitting closely together. She is very considerate in the way she expresses her affection and will never overstep any boundaries or make you feel uncomfortable. Along with her physical affection, she's also very vocal about her admiration of you, complimenting you on both the big and small things.
She's a fun-loving and spontaneous person. She likes to keep things exciting and always has her finger on the pulse of the latest news in Barbie Land and the real world. Whether it's exploring new places or trying new activities, she is up for anything. It will never be a dull moment with her as a partner. With her by your side, you'll always have an adventure partner in and out of the bedroom.
Weird Barbie is also a great communicator and always knows how to express herself clearly and concisely. In a relationship, being able to communicate effectively is important and she is able to do just that. Whether it's through words or actions, she can deliver her thoughts and feelings in a way that makes sense to you. She is also considerate and always takes your feelings into account before speaking, ensuring that everything is delivered in a way that's respectful and meaningful for you as well.
When weird Barbie is in love, she's willing to commit to you fully and completely. She's not one to take things lightly and she'll do whatever it takes to make the relationship last and prosper. She's not afraid of taking risks and exploring uncharted territories. She'll be there with you through all the ups and downs, never giving up on the relationship. Weird Barbie is a strong-minded individual who will fight for what she believes in and that includes you.

local egomaniac experiences pure unconditional love and devotion and doesn’t know how to process it
rambling about their relationship below the cut
Betrayus has always been kind of an enigma for people to place on how he’d handle romance and love in general, especially since he flip-flops so often between just being a manchild with massive insecurities and a guy who literally committed war crimes. for me, i think he IS lonely and DOES want adoration and care given to him, but at this point has only registered these things as things you have to earn, either through respect or (in his case) fear. he GREATLY exaggerates just how much he “suffered” growing up, but does still have the mentality that kindness is just a tool for manipulation, and that love is something that you have to fight your way to get, and even then any who shows it to him does it for superficial reasons. it’s both sad, but also a good reflection on the fact he himself is a dishonest and selfish person, balancing it out so its not TOO sympathetic.
that’s kinda where Paz comes in. she’s also kind of an enigma when it comes to love. compared to Betrayus, she is FULL of it, much more than any desire for evil or to cause harm. if she loved someone normal, she’d be seen as a very kind and compassionate person who’s a bit quiet and keeps to herself. but she doesn’t love someone normal, it’s BETRAYUS. all this compassion and pure unconditional love that’s held in her tiny heart is focused on this guy, this annoying high-strung and arrogant supervillain. and when her love is focused on someone, it’s loyal and dedicated to a detrimental degree. really, the things shes done for him should classify her as just as evil, if not more. but it’s weird, as its not exactly like an axe murderer obsession kind of love…
she genuinely cares about him and his happiness. she’s genuinely tired of seeing him angry and upset at the world 24/7, and wants nothing more than to put a smile on his face. she’d never force him to do anything he didn’t want, and she doesn’t even really mind if he never loves her back that way, as long as he’s got her as support. the populace gets terrorized by ghosts, and she performs problematic-to-terrifying kinds of spells for his plans, but all purely with the intent of making him happy because she loves him. it’s a weird situation of evil actions all with an endgoal that, by itself, is extremely wholesome and well-meaning. it reflects a weird detachment in her brain that as long as it makes Betrayus happy, its necessary. she can probably be classified as insane for this.
and Betrayus’s reaction to it… once it slowly registers with him just how deep this loyalty goes, he’s stunned. even if i think he both exaggerates and lies about HOW “cruel” everyone treated him in life, i do think the experience of unconditional love outside of his family is a foreign one to him. especially love he never had to earn. he’s done much more to logically prevent someone from ever seeing him in such a light, but here was Paz, ready to fight the world and Pac-God himself just for him. it wasn’t even someone loving him for their own benefit at the expense of his comfort like Ghoulasha, or because they wanted something out of him. for once, its someone that for whatever insane reason, just wants to see him happy and content and that was it. no strings attached. such a simple goal that, despite his superego, still perplexes him greatly.
there’s probably a nugget of self awareness deep inside that ego of his that he’s definitely the Worst, and everyone thinks this. so interacting with even just one person who disproves that opens that self awareness back up, and Betrayus is left completely bewildered. how is someone managing to say such sweet and sincere things to him? how is it they don’t want ANYTHING from him but his happiness? normally he’d be suspicious its all an act, but for what other endgoal there’s no clue for. everything Paz has done has always proven to be sincere, as she barely gains anything just for herself from the experiences working as his assistant. but still, her patience never weakens, and she still gives him that same adoring smile no matter how much he screws up or acts obnoxious. so as a result, for the first time he actually has to reflect and really try to absorb the kindness someone shares with him. to figure out how it makes him feel, and how to properly respond to it. does he have to be kind back now? he knows its his nature not to be. but the sincerity of it is infectious… and a small part of him actually wants to meet her love with his own positivity, to create more of this feeling. which of course has him feeling like he’s going soft/crazy. but eventually, he does realize this IS a feeling he enjoys having, of being loved unconditionally and wanting to give that love back.
considering what he learns of Paz’s own insecurities and her self-image issues (read my fic for more context), her love for Betrayus could partially be some kind of coping mechanism, to feel like she’s making a difference with someone by giving them something the universe deemed didn’t fit its system for them to have. but that’s just a small part, she really DOES love him and all his little obnoxious mannerisms. once Betrayus does catch wind of her low image of herself though, that and his growing enjoyment of sharing in her kindness gives him that FINAL push to actually step out of his ego and focus on bringing someone else up other than himself. an out of character move that has realistic motivations and development for it!
in the end, i DO think even a war criminal like Betrayus is capable of love, as he’s shown to have a lot more sad and kind of pathetic emotions going on beneath the bad-guy shtick. its something he wants deep down, but just needs to figure out how to handle it and respond to it so it doesn’t die immediately, and with Paz he’s given the patience and loyalty to figure it out on his own terms. and in turn, he realizes the person who loves him has ACTUAL problems of her own regarding her mental health and self esteem, and his ultimate act of understanding love is to help her with that and make her feel loved. so it comes full circle, and what was once a possible unhealthy coping mechanism becomes a healthy realtionship for both. 💖
so yeah. sorry that was so long, they just make me think too much

hi! first time making an original post in like years. anyways
this is my canon timeline for dragon age, written out in prep for veilguard's release :> larger versions of the busts, plus assorted rambling, below the cut.
eventually, i am probably going to cave and post some stuff about these bastards on ao3 - if you are interested, this is where to look: https://archiveofourown.org/users/tapir_boy/works
SARRELAN TABRIS: as im writing this post my partner looked over, saw sarrelan, and went "thats my fuckign WIFE". so shes highly reviewed
Sarrelan is the Warden-Commander and Hero of Ferelden, the woman who killed the Archdemon, ended the Fifth Blight, Arlessa of Amaranthine, and winner of Vigil's Keep's Biggest Bitch award twenty-two years and counting. she is full to the brim with autism, which is part of the reason she looks so. mad. all of the time. she doesn't mean to, she just does not Emote well and so comes off as being more aggressive than she actually is. now don't get her wrong, she is also full of rage and kind of jumps to violence as a first resort, but she is capable of listening to people and generally does like people, like she thinks good people deserve things and wants to give them good things. she just never looks like she does.
she's got kind of an immediate bond with Alistair, something to be said about him being basically the first human man who's ever treated her with respect and actually listened to her when she takes control of a situation. ive seen interesting commentary out there about how alistair immediately turns control of the situation over to the HoF and how that can be really disorienting/frustrating/upsetting for some characters, but its kind of the opposite for sarrelan. shes had almost two decades of experience getting into shit with her cousins, shes used to taking charge and she likes having that control, and its a relief that alistair doesn't try to fight her on it.
zevran is a little more rough-going to start as they're both very different people - zevran is used to reading more into people's body language, and sarrelan's body language is very disassociated from her actual emotions, so he does spend a good while thinking he's in like Imminent Danger while sarrelan's in the corner trying to figure out if she actually Likes this guy flirting with her. (she does).
zevran semi-accidentially insinuates himself in alistair and sarrelan's relationship right after it starts, half-jokingly offering to have a threesome to help them both get over their nerves of losing their virginity, and then oops oh no they all caught feelings and no one knows how to deal with it. they only figure their shit out a few days before the battle of denerim and it's as sarrelan is On Top of the archdemon, getting ready to kill it, still unsure if Morrigan's ritual will work and if she'll even survive this, that she's able to tell them she loves them.
zevran's earring is the only piercing she has, and she treasures it greatly. she's a two handed warrior and has a sword bigger than herself. shes also gone 1v1 with an orge alpha and survived. canonically. id say i have video proof but i dont. just trust me bro
(TW FOR SA, NOT GRAPHICALLY DESCRIBED)
CONNOR HAWKE: local man made of 20 different types of trauma in a cool chestplate
connor is actually adopted into the hawke family! long story short, he was born in kirkwall and was taken to the circle there, and only left because his enchanters conspired to smuggle him out after one of the templars assaulted him. he fled to ferelden where he came across the hawke family, who took him and his daughter in and helped him fake a new identity with them. he's not happy to be back in kirkwall, but the city is a part of him whether he likes it or not - it's eating him alive but without it, he doesn't feel like himself. he's a very dedicated and loyal person, usually to his detriment, but he feels like he can't keep running from the threat of the templars anymore, he has to do something to fix this makerdamned city now.
(TW IS OVER)
he's got Something going on with the whole kirkwall crew, it just never really expands into anything for years because he's basically married to the job. but his life has been intertwined with these people's since he met them, and at a certain point all of those feelings mesh together and he's sitting there at wicked grace night and realizes he might be In Love with all of them, and then he has to make a hasty exit before he has a complete and total breakdown over it. during the timespan of DA2, anders is really the only person he has a romantic relationship with, because justice is getting tired of anders holding himself back from maybe the one other man in kirkwall who would support him no matter what, and kisses connor like the day before he has to leave on a longer quest to the sundermount. connor makes them discuss their feelings afterwards and they end up figuring it out, although the rest of the kirkcule are like. still fucking each other and are by no means exclusive at this point. the rest of them just never talk about it, because things go downhill in act 2 FAST. like, within a month he loses his mother, almost gets dragged back to the circle, has to fake his daughter's death, completely destroys his relationship with carver, and almost dies fighting the arishok.
the connor hawke of reality and the Champion of Kirkwall that gets immortalized by varric are two very different people - basically by the time that connor gets the name of Champion, he's already been working on maintaining a public persona that he just calls Hawke, and after everything with his daughter being sent away, he never lets that mask down again. he really considers Hawke to be a completely different person to Connor, and varric tries to help cement that difference in the Tale of the Champion. Hawke's story is that he was always Ferelden, his daughter was adopted and really did die, and he had no idea anders was getting so radical until the moment the chantry exploded - connor's story is that from the moment he sent Lila away, he was planning to find some way to take down Meredith.
he and anders spend a lot of time inbetween acts 2-3 trying to figure out more peaceful ways to address the chantry and bring some - any - oversight to the circles, but when all of that fails, they finally resort to plan dynamite. when all is said and done, they go to amaranthine to be reunited with lila, and then go on the run trying to help the mages break out of the circles and evade the templars. when he hears that varric was kidnapped by cassandra and that she's looking for him to speak at the conclave, he sees it as an opportunity to make a case for the rebel mages, and goes despite all the warnings not to. he survives in the fade up until the questline where the Herald goes into the fade, finds him alive, and drags him back home to see his daughter again. then he stays in skyhold to basically act as an advisor to her, and when the rest of the kirkcule get their hands on him, it kind of spurs him on to finally address his relationship to the rest of them.
connor is a force mage by default, but given how long he spent in Ferelden living on the run from the templars, he mastered both casting without a staff and fighting without magic. he's both tall and strong, but he manages to avoid scaring people off through sheer Dad energy.
LILA HAWKE: hey look theres that daughter we've been talking about
Lila is very much her father's daughter, but she doesn't have his same talent for acting calm or friendly, if she doesn't like you she Will tell you to your face and she will not work with you. (cullen.) after hawke's "death" at the conclave, she kind of becomes the defacto leader of the rebel mages, which is definitely a normal amount of responsibility for a twenty-one year old struggling with ongoing mental health issues and overwhelming grief to handle. shes doing great
(slight detour: to address some of the weirdness with DAI's timelines im having there be basically 3 factions of mages in the rebellion: the Circle mages, who want to remain under the circles with the exact same setup as before; the College mages, who like the idea of having their own spaces and want some oversight, but also some oversight of the oversight to address the rampant abuses of powers; and the Hawkes, the rebel mages who want no circles and no templars and the ability to live their lives in the same communities as non-mages. the Circle mages mostly look to Vivienne for leadership, the College mages are rallied behind Fiona, and the Hawkes were roaming the continent with Connor, now working loosely with the Inquisition with Lila.)
she's got some health issues - she's shorter than varric by a few inches despite being a human, she has moderate asthma, and semi-regular psychotic episodes, mostly auditory/visual hallucinations and paranoid episodes. bubba, the family mabari, acts as a service dog for her when he isn't doing the same for connor, and i imagine at some point between inquisition and veilguard, she has her own mabari who works full-time as her service dog.
she is one of the co-inquisitors for DAI, but she is not the herald of Andraste; she wasn't actually at the conclave when it exploded, she was down in haven with varric and anders, but she kind of gets roped into everything because cassandra says "youre a hawke, you're going to get involved anyways" and lila... can't really argue with that, she's just mad that cassandra was right. arisas is the diplomatic one, she's the more experienced one, and they honestly balance each other out really well. it frustrates her to no end that arisas is almost literally twice her height.
lila kind of regards her time in amaranthine as the best of a really, really shitty situation - she hates that she lost so much time with her father, that her teenage years were so tumultuous and that she had so many milestones of her life and she couldn't talk to her father about them, she never got to introduce her first girlfriend to him, she had to come out to him over letters, and while she has a lot of respect for the wardens in amaranthine and appreciates them for taking her in with no questions asked, she hates that she lives in a world where that had to happen in the first place. sarrelan is the person who made her realize she might be kind of butch, and zevran taught her how to actually fight instead of just using her magic for experimentation. connor never kept a grimoire after fleeing kirkwall (too obvious and too much evidence, especially if it got lost or stolen), but she does, and it's filled to the brim with notes and homebrewed spells.
ARISAS ADAAR: please help him he is too young for this
arisas is by far the youngest person to get involved in a major political conflict in my canon - he turns 16 during the events of DAI - and he is trying so hard to keep people from learning that information. he grew up in tevinter, taken there from par vollen as a very young child, and doesn't have the greatest grasp of southern mage/templar politics and is very confused by everything happening at the start of the game. he joined with a mercenary company as his first job, and was only with them for a few weeks before they got hired for the conclave, and he was Not getting paid enough to get a crash course in the differences between southern mages and tevinter mages.
ari is a lot more hesitant / cautious than lila is, partially because he has an anxiety disorder, and partially because he just knows a lot less about the south than she does. if it were up to him, he would not be in charge of this mess, but he's the one with the Anchor so he kind of has to be. he takes to the diplomacy pretty well, and he at least always finishes the paperwork that josephine sets in front of him (unlike liia, who will get distracted and go do something else halfway through). it does mean that he is constantly sleep deprived
inquisition is probably his first big exposure to a lot of queer people in very close proximity to him - between lila, leliana, dorian, and bull, it's the first time that he's really considered that people could be queer, much less trans, and it starts to make him question some things that he really doesn't have time to question. and, as the game continues, it doesnt really seem like questioning it will do him any good, as the inquisition continues to erase him and fill in the blanks with the Herald of Andraste, so he basically goes "even if i am queer, looking into it now will do me no good, because no one here is going to listen or respect that" and continues on like normal. (post canon he does figure some shit out, although he still uses he/him pronouns).
ari looks up to bull a lot, at first because he's a qunari who actually follows the qun, and ari is very curious and kind of wants bull to take him under his wing and become a father figure to him; but when bull becomes tal-vashoth and leaves the qun, ari tries to reassure him that he's the same man regardless of the identity he ties himself to, and that there's no shame in acting outside of the qun if it means protecting the people he cares about. bull in turn tries to help ari come out of his shell and maintain his sense of self in the midst of everything that comes with being the herald.
he struggles a LOT with having his identity erased by the inquisition, being both revered and reviled and rewritten with every step he takes. it makes him feel just thorougly inhuman and alone, and causes a mental breakdown after trespasser. he tries to stay in politics for a few years post canon, tries to help dorian with reforming tevinter with all this newfound influence he has, but being in the spotlight so much is detrimental to his heath, and he ends up having an early retirement in his mid-20s. he moves to kirkwall and raises nugs. this is the greatest his life has ever been.
