Horse Breeding pt.1
Tumblr media
I can't do this anymore, I am tired of holding back, this man makes me so horny im literally so desperate. There, i said it. The whole movie I sat there, wet as fuck, and then he has the fucking nerve to talk about breeding like this PLEASE
Pairing: Jack Clancy (Drover) x fem!Reader
Summary: The tall, sturdy australian man talks about breeding. How could you not get turned on by that?
Wordcount: 1.4k
Warnings/tags: english is not my first language, following the movie Australia (2008), very VERY suggestive but no smut (yet), breeding kink, reader is ovulating and so am i
i wasn’t able to watch the movie in english, so I could only research and try to recreate what Drover said. If it isn't movie accurate, let me know what he actually says and i'll change it <3
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
How did you even end up in this situation? Sitting in a car with a sweaty, grimy and bossy cattle drover, while a drunk accountant was squeezed between you.
Your sisters husband, Lord Maitland Ashley, occupied a cattle station here in Darwin, Australia. And Sarah had grown suspicious of him, and his loyalty, specifially. Besides that, it seemed like he was only wasting the money earned from the cattle farm instead of investing it further with logical intent.
Well, that wasnt your problem, really. But your sister wasn’t in a state to travel as of late and she begged you to check on her husband and faraway downs, even force Mailtland to sell the property if you must. Everything to bring him back to england. You couldn't just say no to her, could you?
Right now though, you regretted that decision.
You grimaced as the old man next to you moved his hand to your thigh in his drunken sleep, grumbling and hiccuping as you swatted his hand away, before he got comfortable again.
You swallowed thickly, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear, before opening your mouth to speak. "So...Mr. Drover" you started, trying to not sound too posh. Upon your arrival, you had quickly realised that the people here weren't fond of the way you spoke, especially men like Drover. They looked at you like you were just some arrogant english Lady that felt superior over everyone else because she was born into a wealthy, aristocratic family and only complained about the heat in the outback. And somehow, you didn't want to annoy Drover any more than you already had. It wasn’t good to make enemies so early on in your journey, especially when you were depended on their help to navigate around this foreign land.
The man grunted, as if to grant you permission to speak. You swallowed again, trying to find the words. "I see you are an employee of Lord Ashley-" but before you could finish your sentence, Drover chuckled dryly "Lady, I'm not an employee" he corrected you, giving you a long look that you couldn’t quite place. Your cheeks burned and you huffed. "So you're just driving me all the way out to Faraway Downs as a personal favor to Lord Ashley? Surely you must be paid in some way"
Drover shrugged "You could say that. I'm driving you out there because he promised me a drove of 1,500 head of cattle." He grunted out, the steering wheel gliding between his hand effortlessly and...very attractively. "Besides that, he is a good bloke. Knows his way around breeding" he continued like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Your breath caught in your throat, your face heating at the mention of the act of procreation. "B-breeding?" you asked, your voice thin and your heart pounding. Why did him saying that word have such an effect on you?
Drover tilted his hat back "Yes, breeding. We're both dead keen on breeding. I have this idea, which, uh- which he loves." he told you, making your heart jolt, but not from the uneven terrain you were driving on. "Really..." you muttered, looking at him, your mouth slightly agape.
"You might be quite excited about it too, actually. And your sister as well" he smirked, ever so slightly, looking at you. You bit your lip, clenching your thighs together. It was embarrassing, it was wrong, the way you reacted. So immodest of you, you had barely met the man and once you left australia, you would never see him again. And yet, you wanted him to keep talking like this, with his deep, gravelly voice.
"Now, I'm a brumby man, but his fancy English filly, Capricornia, has really caught my eye. I got to admit. She is gorgeous." Drover breathed out, his eyes set on the distance with a heated, dreamy look. It took your breath away. Though, now you felt a little awkward. Of course, he had been talking about horse breeding. You were almost surpised how filthy you thought. And yet you would have given anything for him to look at you while he called you gorgeous so passionately.
But it seemed like you were in luck. Before Drover kept speaking, he turned his head, his eyes trailling over you, half lidded and intense "Really gorgeous. Gorgeous creature." his voice was a deep, slow grumble and you felt something throb eagerly between your legs. He way quiet then, just staring at you. But as he felt a stir in his pants, he cleared his throat and turned his eyes back on the road, much to your dismay.
"I've always wanted to mate an English thoroughbred with a bush brumby. I mean, it'd be magic, wouldn't it? Magic. Imagine that combination..." Drover muttered, too deep in thought, his eyes clouded over as if he was imagining it right this moment. Though it didn’t quite feel like he was only thinking about horses.
Your brain was working in overdrive, but your mouth wasn’t as coordinated and it took you a minute to clear your throat and answer him "Yes, that sounds...good" you whispered, your voice only airy while you fanned your burning face with your hands. You tried to look away from him, but you just couldn’t.
Drover smirked ever so slightly, his eyes set on you and the way you seemed to sweat. "Yeah, you think so, sweetheart?" the name he called you gave you the rest and you caught yourself whimpering quietly, needily. You just nodded, not trusting your voice to speak another word. It was very embarrassing as it was, you didn't have to say more. The air between you and Drover was sizzling hot and heavy, and it wasn’t the humid climates fault.
You didn't want to admit it, but your pussy was aching unbearably and your legs trembled as you pushed them together in hopes to take off some of the pressure.
But the longer you looked into his eyes, these hazel pools of lust and desire, the wetter you got. Did he know what he was causing in you? Your whole life you had been told that it was immodest to fantasize about men that weren't your soon-to-be or already husband. You were supposed to save yourself for marriage. And you didn't have any problem with that. It wasn’t like the men in England were anything of your interest anyway, so it was easy to not let your mind wander.
Of course, you didn't expect that the man you wanted would be a broad-shouldered, sturdy, six foot tall australian man that drove cattle for a living and probably hadn't had a decent shower in years. And god you wanted to jump his bones right about now. If you didn't know it any better, and if there wouldn’t be a drunk man lodged between you, you would have made him pull over to rail you between some bushes and trees.
Speaking of a drunken man, Mr. Kippling Flynn, as you had learned, jolted awake between you after the truck shook from driving over a pothole. It destroyed the tension between Drover and you so suddenly, you couldn't help but gasp.
Flynn looked between you two with a sluggish grin "Drover, why're you so red, ay?" he slurred, leaning onto Drovers shoulder. He grunted annoyed and shoved the other man away. Indeed, Drovers cheeks had a slight dust of pink on them, but you weren't much better. You were burning up and you hadn't been this horny in your entire life.
Mr. Kippling was pushed into your direction, where his alcoholic breath in your face made you grimace "Say missy, did he take me booze?" he asked you weirdly seriously and in a hushed tone, as if Drover wasn’t allowed to hear. You shook your head, still breathless.
He eyed you suspiciously, before his gaze slowly wandered down to his hand, where he held a still half full bottle of liquor.
He cheered, drank a bit, then passed out cold again.
The silence after was deafening. You tried to look over at Drover, see if you could catch his gaze, but he looked straight ahead, his jaw ticking.
Now, this was just awkward...
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
please omg I am ovulating so badly and Drover doesn’t make it any better fuuuuck I want him to knock me up with twins good GOD UGNNNHHH MY PUSSY IS PURRINGGGGG
He comes on screen and so do I, he is SO yummy and biggg and strong and broad and fuck rail me daddy

Cosmere Fake-Dating Pairs That Could "Plausibly" Happen
As requested by @room-temperature-orange-juice :)
Sanderson doesn't seem to go for fake dating all that much. But here are some scenarios that could TOTALLY happen if he did want to incorporate some fake-dating comedy into his books...
1. MeLaan & Marasi
The Scenario: Well, they obviously need to go undercover to solve a case, perhaps to a ball or a party or a wedding where it makes the most sense to pretend to be a couple
MeLaan (currently in a woman's body): All right. Let's do this! Marasi: U-Uh, MeLaan? Are you sure that's the...best body for this operation? MeLaan: Shit, you're right. Hang on! MeLaan: [Returns as a much more voluptuous woman] MeLaan: Now everyone will know that you can pull. Marasi (deeply red): T-THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT
2. Kaladin & Szeth [Rhythm of War spoilers but NO WAT preview spoilers]
The Scenario: Well, we know that Kaladin and Szeth will be going to Shinovar on a mission. Let's say Szeth needs to explain why he's brought a stone-walker into his homeland. The obvious explanation is that they're dating!
Shinovar authority figure: D-Dating?! Why would you date a stone-walker?! Szeth (expressionless): I like tall men. Kaladin (equally expressionless): He likes it when I hit my head on things. Szeth (still expressionless): Though I love him deeply, I do enjoy a good instance of head trauma. Shinovar authority figure (muttering): Is double "Truthless" a thing?
3. Charlie & one of those princesses
The Scenario: Rather than driving off all of the eligible princesses by being as boring & gross as possible, Charlie finds one who is willing to play along.
Charlie: T-The truth is, I already have a woman I love. The Princess: Really? Charlie: Yeah, but my dad doesn't approve of her... The Princess: I know how you feel. My father also doesn't approve of the woman I love... Charlie: ... The Princess: ... Charlie: ... The Princess: ... Charlie: Five-year engagement? The Princess: At least!
4. Lyn & Renarin
The Scenario: Fed up with her parents being all judgmental because she dumped Kaladin Stormblessed, Lyn decides that she HAS to bring an awesome date to her family dinner--and who better than a Brightlord, a Radiant, AND the king's son?
Lyn: Don't forget to bring up that you joined the 4v1 duel before Kaladin. Lyn: And how you took down a Thunderclast! Lyn: Storms, if you just smile occasionally, I bet that'll make them forget about Kaladin... Lyn: ... Lyn: Honestly, I think you might just be a better catch than Kaladin. Renarin: I'm gay, though. Lyn: Heh, well I didn't say you're a better catch for me...
5. Kaladin & Elhokar
The Scenario: Imagine that, during the infiltration of Kholinar, that part of their disguises involve Elhokar (disguised as a lighteyed woman) being the wife of Kaladin (disguised as an ugly old man).
Elhokar: Mmmm...I don't feel that I would go for a man with eyebrows like that. Shallan: Brightlady, please! Surely you can pretend that beneath his rough exterior, he has a good heart. Kaladin: ...pretend? Elhokar: No, no. I definitely would have insisted that he at least groom better. Can you make his eyebrows at least a bit neater? To sell the illusion? Or, do we have time to stop for nose-hair trimmers? Shallan: What if I just make his cheekbones a bit sharper? Elhokar: Mmmm...okay, yes. I could see myself marrying him. Kaladin: CAN WE PLEASE GET GOING
6. Wayne and Ranette
The Scenario: Wayne begs Ranette to fake-marry him.
Ranette: [looking at Wayne with a mixture of horror and pity] You said you weren't gonna do this anymore, Wayne. Wayne: No, no! Don't you get the wrong idea here! I need you to marry me and then divorce me horribly so you get half of my money in court! Wayne: Please understand--I've tried everything to get rid of this money. I'm desperate here! Wayne: Please! Ranette: ... Ranette: I get to divorce you horribly? Wayne: You better eviscerate me in court! Ranette: ... Ranette: Might be right therapeutic, actually. Wayne: You're such a good friend!
Moash & Kelsier
The Scenario: Moash realizes he's going to be reunited with his former Bridge 4 friends and makes plans accordingly.
Moash: Yup. This is my old Bridge 4 uniform, but now it's dyed black, because I'm new & evil now. Moash: And this is my new boyfriend Kelsier, who's just like you, Kaladin, only he survives MORE and actually FOLLOWS THROUGH on killing the king. Kelsier: Lord Ruler. Moash: Whatever. Moash: So as you can see, I don't even miss you guys AT ALL. Moash: ... Moash: What do you think? Will this make them jealous? Kelsier: ...I think we need to practice your speech a bit more.

Fuck-ass Mohawk
Contains: Alcohol, smoking (cigarettes and cannabis), Soap being Soap, Ghost being Ghost, uninvited touching, tall fem reader
Short little thing about Johnny liking it a bit when you're a bitch to him (And Ghost likes it too)
868 Words ~ MDNI
You’d rather stay home and play board games, but Laurie had convinced everyone that it was a good night for clubbing. You hated clubs— The noise, the crowds, the smell of sweat and alcohol and hormones— and spent the better part of club nights standing outside chain-smoking, or crammed into a dirty bathroom stall holding back a friend’s hair as she threw up blue curacao because she didn’t listen to you when you told her to eat dinner before going out. Tonight didn’t look like it was going to end up with anyone puking their guts up, at least. Laurie’s flirting with a gorgeous hunk with a devastating smile, and Alex and Hannah are dancing, so you go out the side door into the alley for some fresh air. Or air, anyway, since the alley’s where folks go to smoke. You light a joint, because at least that will dull the effect that the sound is having on your head. It’s getting close to midnight, which at least means the night is almost over, so long as someone doesn’t drag you along to some weirdo’s house. “Hey, wha’s a bonnie thing like ye doin’ out here all alone?” A voice purrs in your ear. You jump, surprised that he could get so close with out you noticing him, especially once you turn and really look at him. He’s huge, not that tall, probably your height when you’re not wearing boots (You have about an inch and a half on him in your shit-kickers), but broad and way more muscled than anyone has any reason to be, wrapped in a too-tight shirt, and smiling at you, bright blue eyes fixed on yours with unnerving intensity. He pats your shoulder. “Didnae mean to scare ye, lass, just wanted to say hello.” You take a big step to the side, establishing a new bubble of personal space without him in it. “Well, hello,” you say dismissively. “Goodbye.” There’s a snort from a few meters away, a big fellow with a kn95 mask dangling on one ear, his hand up in front of his face, a cigarette clamped between his fingers. “Och, dinnae be like tha’, hen.” “Don’t like it?” you ask, glaring at him. “Go away. Plenty of girls in there’ll go for whatever all this is.” A sweeping, unimpressed glance from his boots and ripped jeans up to his stupid mohawk would usually do the trick, but it only made this fellow smile wider. “No’ enough fer ya? I can sweeten tha deal some. The big fella doesnae mind sharin’ a sweet lass with me noo and again. There’s plenty of ye ta go around.” “Johnny,” the big fellow in question says sternly. His mask is back in place, covering the lower half of his face. “Dun’t look like she’s interested.”
“Tha’s where you’re wrong, LT. She just doesna want to admit it. Hen’s got pride. Wants to make me work for it, right lass?” He winks at you. “No. Don’t like your fuck-ass mohawk.” You puff on your joint, keeping your face still while he splutters, indignant. “Fuck-ass mohawk?” he asks. “What do ye mean by tha’?” “I mean it looks like you have a contentious relationship with your father,” you say. Maybe you’re being a bit mean, but it’s always fun to take a cocky fucker down a peg or two. “I don’t fuck with men with daddy issues. Most of ‘em are cops or military lads.” The big guy— LT?— laughs aloud at that while Johnny’s still looking at you with his mouth hanging open. The side door opens, and your friends pile out, Laurie arm in arm with her hunk, and Hannah and Alex clinging to handsome fellows of their own. “There you are,” Laurie says. “We’re going back to Hannah’s. Are you coming?” “Uh. I guess.” Laurie beams at you, and looks up at her hunk. “Kyle, do you need to find your friends?” “Nah. These lads right here.” He gestures at Johnny and LT. with a grin. “Knew Ghost would be out here, and Soap’s always followin’ him around like the big puppy he is.” “Ah’m no’!” You fall into step at the rear of the group. You’ll probably head home rather than join them, but Hannah’s flat is on the way to your own. Johnny and his handler flank you, matching your stride when you slow down or speed up. Annoying. “So what, is the big guy your replacement daddy?” you ask. “Wha— No!” Johnny says hotly. “He’s just my lieutenant.” “Could be your daddy, if you like,” Ghost says, putting a heavy hand on the back of your neck. “Got a thing for caustic little cunts.” “Oh fuck off,” you say, trying to shove his hand off. His grip squeezes a little tighter, and you try to ignore the way that core clenches around nothing. You channel the heat into anger, and dig your nails into his wrist hard. “Don’t fucking touch me.” He grunts, but doesn’t seem all that affected by your claws. “Look at you, ‘issin’ and spittin’ like a puffed up alley cat. S’cute. But save it for later, eh? Don’t want you to tire yourself out too early.”

Meeting Carmy
Meeting Carmy at a family party that he was hired to cater.
Tumblr media
Finding a hiding spot at this anniversary party was not as easy as you thought. There were people in almost every room with drinks in their hands, all catching up with family that they haven’t seen since in a while. With it being January, it was too cold outside to stand on the patio, though hypothermia isn’t looking too bad at the moment. You love your family, you really do, it’s just after hearing Uncle Billy’s fishing stories for the third time and your great aunt trying to match you up with everyone she knows, it’s a been a bit much. Work today wasn’t bad, but dealing with teenagers is draining on anyone, and rushing to get ready and coming to this party makes for a long day. You at least look nice for the party tonight. You had just enough time to do your hair and find matching shoes and jewelry for your outfit.
Finally, you’re able to break away from your cousin telling you about her newest remodeling project at home and are able to make your way into the kitchen. The door swings close and for a moment it’s silent. You can still make out the voices from down the hall, and from the sounds of it it seems like Uncle Billy found someone else to tell that fishing story too. Walking around the kitchen island you look out the window over the sink to see that snow has started to fall outside. You set your drink that you have been carrying down on the counter and take a deep breath.
“Yo. Watch where you’re going.” The door to the kitchen swings open. Really needing some quiet time and not wanting to talk to anyone at the moment you slip down the island onto the floor, hoping that no one sees you and disturbs the moment of peace that you found.
“What the hell? Is uh there a reason that you’re on the floor ?”
Looking up, you see a man in a chef’s uniform, realizing that he is a part of the catering staff that was hired for this party.
“I needed a break from that,” Waving your hand in the general direction of the noise. “Am I in the way? I’m sure there must be some room in the pantry if I move some things if you need me to.”
“Nah, um it’s fine for now.”
“Y/N! Are you in here?” Hearing your great aunt coming into the kitchen, you try to motion to the chef that you are indeed not here at the moment.
“Oh. Hello young man. Have you seen my niece? Her name is y/n. She’s about this tall. Wearing a dress.” My aunt directs these questions to the chef.
The man slides his eyes down to you before he shakes his head. “Ah. No ma’am, I haven’t.”
You smile and relax a bit on the floor. Looking up to the man you take in his appearance, realizing that this man is so much more than attractive.
“Oh, well. If you do could you tell her that I gave her number to one of the young men at my church who is single. She should be getting a call from him soon.” You bite down on your bottom lip trying to stifle a groan. You love your great aunt, but really why does she always feel the need to set everyone up. “How old are you?” You shake your head as your aunt asks the question, continuing to look at the chef. “You are very handsome and you seem handy around the kitchen. You and my niece would make a nice couple. I’ll give you her number.” I hear my aunt open a drawer and shut it, moments later hearing the sound of paper tearing. “Here. You call her. You two would make beautiful babies.”
“Um, thanks?” The chef seems dazed as the door closes behind my aunt. “I. That. That was interesting.” He says as he pushes his hair back from his face.
Standing up from the floor, you turn to face the chef. “I feel like I should properly introduce myself now, especially after all that. I’m y/n.” You extend you hand out to him.
It seems as if he is trying to hold back a smirk as he reaches for your hand. “Carmen. You can call me Carmy, most people do. My restaurant was hired to cater. Your um. Your aunt is something.”
You let out a short laugh. “Yes she is. Sorry about all that. Thank you for not blowing my cover. This is all a bit embarrassing. You don’t have to keep my number.” Pointing to the paper that your aunt wrote your number on, which is lying by a cutting board.
“You don’t want me to have it?” Carmy tilts his head to the side.
Feeling heat rise to your cheeks. “What. No. I just. I. There was talk of babies and people at church. It’s a lot for anyone. I was giving you an out.” Please stop talking and making this worst you thought to yourself. Why does he have to be so good looking? It’s becoming too distracting to look at him.
“I don’t think I want an out.” Carmy says as you heart skips a beat, which now you know is actually a thing that can happen.
The door swings open to the kitchen revealing your great aunt. “Oh y/n there you are! I see you met this handsome chef. He’s handsome isn’t he y/n?”
“Oh. Ah, yes very handsome.” You say looking at Carmy, noticing a bit of a blush on his cheeks.
“I will leave you two alone. I already gave him your number y/n” My aunt nods at the paper with your number on it before she leaves through the kitchen door again.
“Oh my god. I’m sorry. This is a lot.” You cover your face with your hands, after a moment you move your fingers so that you can peek through to look at Carmy, seeing him smile at you.
The door to the kitchen opens again, this time revealing another member of what you assume is the catering company.
“Hey, Chef. Everything is looking good out there, but we’re getting low on the appetizers.” The man sets down a tray on the island and seems to realize that Carmy is not alone. “Oh, who’s this cousin?”
“Here take this tray out and refill the appetizers. I’ll start getting the rest of the trays together.” Carmy hands a well filled tray to the other chef, who exits the kitchen, but not before he gives Carmy a smirk nodding at you.
“I should get back to the party” You say as you don’t want to be in the way of him working. “It was nice to meet you Carmy”.
“Yeah. You too.” Carmy says though he’s too busy getting back to work to look up at you. You pick up your drink that you set down earlier and head to the door, looking at the chef once more before you leave to get back to the party.
The next hour or so you mingle with family members that you haven’t seen in a while. The party is nice and you do end up having a good time catching up with everyone. The food is excellent and anytime you hear someone mention the food you smile knowing that Carmy had a hand in making everything. As the party winds down, you think of heading back to the kitchen just to see him once last time, but every time you come close to doing that you chicken out thinking Carmy might find the intrusion annoying if he’s working.
After another half hour of mingling, you decide that it’s time to head home. You say your goodbyes to everyone and put your coat on before leaving the house. As you’re heading home you hear a notification come through your phone, looking down you see an unknown number had texted you. Opening up the text you see the message: Hey. It’s Carmy. Must have missed you before you left.
Smiling and feeling giddy from the message, you type out a response.

Wayward Adjacent
What if, when Sam and Dean met Adam, he wasn't the only child of John Winchester they found.
Chapter One - Who Are You
Word Count - 1163
Tumblr media
Chapter Two - Why Are You Here
I slipped my key into the lock and twisted, and realized that the door was already unlocked.
Well fuck…
Maybe I could still recover from this. Before I had the chance to pull my key out the door, the front door swung open, and I came face to face with a pissed older brother.
“I dropped you off at school two hours ago.”
I shouldered past Adam and into the house, not bothering with my shoes. I wouldn’t be here long.
“Didn’t watch me go into the building.” I shot back, intent on ignoring him for the journey up to my room.
I stopped however when I unexpectantly found two men in our front room. One was freakishly tall, and had longish hair that ended below his ears. The other was tall, but not as tall and had clean cut hair. Both dressed like they came from a small town romance novel, boots, flannel, leather and Carhartt jackets.
“Who the hell are they?”
“Who the hell is she?” me and the shorter one spoke at the same time, and then blinked at one another.
Adam walked in behind me, for some reason holding the framed picture of him and John at his 14th birthday. “This is Andrea.” he introduced as he gestured to me. “Andrea, these are our brothers; Sam-”
 “And Dean.” I finished, John’s words resonating in my head.
The men, my brothers, looked at me with a mixture of surprise and horror. The shorter especially looked mortified at my existence.
“Wait, you knew about them?”
“John mentioned them in passing.” I answered distracted, eyeing them up and down closely.
So, these were the guys I was supposed to turn out like. Jonathan would get a kick out of meeting them
. Wait, but if they were here, then I was right. Kate’s disappearance wasn’t natural, the things in the dark had something to do with this.
“Andrea is only my half-sister.” Adam went on to explain. “When her mother died, John brought her here, and my mom took her in. She’s been living with us for a year and a half.”
The shorter one recovered from his shock and was now pissed. And that pissed off look was the one I knew all too well, because it’s the one I saw every time I looked in the mirror. “So, what did Dad do for your birthdays?” he ground out.
“John never came around for my birthday.” I fired back. “Didn’t even know when it was.”
His eyes softened, pity replacing the pissed off.
“How long has your mom been missing.” the taller spoke suddenly, bringing everyone back to the problem at hand.
“Three days.” Adam answered.
“You the last one to see her?” Shorter one addressed me, now studying me differently.
“No.”
“The neighbor saw her get home Tuesday night but she never made it to work Wednesday morning.”
“Where were you?” Taller one asked me.
“School camp. Got back last night.”
Smaller one froze, his eye catching something. I followed his gaze to the framed picture of Kate and John. He dropped his head, eyes clenched. Maybe my mom wasn’t the only cheating one in the relationship. Adam continued answering taller one’s questions about Kate and her disappearance.
“Should have been here.” Adam added to the end of his explanation, eyes tearing up.
I personally wasn’t as affected by this as I should have been. Sure, Kate was welcoming and nice, but we never really formed a bond. Besides, she was always at work so. And Adam was leaving for college as I moved in, so I only knew it from the few times he was home.
Mostly, I was still thanking God that John was dead. If he found out I’d let something happen to Kate, he’d fucking kill me.
“What the uh, what the cops say?” Shorter one saved us from all the emotion.
“Uhh, they searched the house. They didn’t find anything.” Adam answered. He was quiet for a moment, his eyes getting more tear filled as he bounced a little on his feet. “She wouldn’t leave without telling anybody.” his voice cracked.
I’d been like this, with my mom. A crying, emotional wreck the second anything was wrong with her. When you grow up with a single mom, they become more than a parent. They are a friend, a mother, a constant. Loosing the only parent you have leaves the inner child in you scrambling for something to hold onto.
I’d long since given up needing someone to kiss my boo boos, but Adam was still close with his mom.
The hair on the back of my neck stood on end again. Since I’d gotten back yesterday, I felt on edge. I couldn’t figure out why. Something wasn’t right, had my hackles up. It was beginning to piss me off.
“It looks like she just dropped off the face of the earth, you know?” Adam continued.
It was silent for a few seconds, as the two men, my eldest brothers, looked at one another. It was in that moment that I realized this was the first time all three of my brothers and I were in the same room. I knew of them, Adam didn’t. They didn’t know about Adam and me. In this room, I had the most knowledge. Which meant, I was going to be questioned soon enough.
“Well, I’m just here for my laptop so I’m gonna…” I made to move out the room and back towards the stairs.
“Wait, where are you going?” The tallest asked.
“Somewhere.” I replied, leaving the room and charging up the stairs.
Once at my room, I closed the door and locked it.
Oh my god! Sam and Dean were here! How did they get here? What had Adam done?
If Sam and Dean knew, if Adam had called them, did that mean John know? Would John come? If John knew I’d let something to Kate, if this was all something metaphysical, I had failed.
He was going to kill me. I needed to get out of here, before he got here. Clean my tracks long before he rolled into town. I didn’t have time to waste.
Darting around my room, I grabbed my backpack and began packing everything I thought I needed. Shirts, only 2, a change of pants, spare hoodie, a handful of underwear and three socks, hairbrush.
Why the hell would Adam phone them? Why the hell would Adam think of calling John? I didn’t even know Adam and John were still in contact. Of all the stupid things my older brother had done, this one took the cake.
All I needed was my toothbrush and I’d be set.
Switching out my jacket for a warmer, waterproof coat, I slung my backpack on my shoulder and pulled my door open. And almost collided into a chest.
Shorter one stood before the door, crossing his arms when he spotted my backpack. “Going somewhere?’
Well crap…

Do you ever think about how Kotoko was pretty much Fuuta’s ideal self.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They both wanted to be the same thing, a long-awaited hero, but Kotoko actually “succeeded” while Fuuta “failed.” And that’s also how we judged them in t1. The fanbase thought of Kotoko as the strong, cool vigilante who took down a bad guy, but Fuuta was viewed as a brutish coward who hid behind a screen and killed an innocent teenager.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You could partially link that to the fact that in the end, their convictions were very different. Kotoko has supposed strong convictions but Fuuta seems to parrot things he probably heard on twitter to reinforce himself that he DOES have "strong convictions" like a hero/vigilante (like kotoko) does. Yet, his actual goal was never really Justice at all. Rather, it was all just to gain acceptance and connection. You can especially see that with how Fuuta stands firm in his ideals like he does with others but then immediately jumps to try and connect with Kotoko and impress her by parroting her words and opinions because he craves acceptance from someone whom he respects in some way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fuuta: "Ahh, yeah, Norway! The famous thing they have there!" This man clearly had absolutely never heard of it before until Kotoko brought it up. And he immediately pretended like he knew what she was talking about.
Another aspect is Fuuta's insecurities about how he doesn’t measure up to his ideals of being a strong, independent and responsible man. Like his want to protect others despite his cowardice. Or like how his ideal self in bring it on is seemingly taller and more confident.
Yet, Kotoko has constant traits and connections to masculinity (here's a great post about it by purgemarchlockdown) such as being tall, possessing fighting ability, not wearing more traditionally feminine clothes, and possessing traditionally masculine traits like strength and stoicism. Even stories about werewolves were traditionally more about men. While witch hunts, which Fuuta is connected to, mainly convicted women.
There's also the fact that Fuuta craves ally ship and Kotoko seems to be more well-liked than Fuuta even though they’re both rather standoffish. In fact, you actually see Fuuta going out of his way to interact with others (in his own way) more than Kotoko is throughout t1. (I believe he's the first character to give someone else a physical gift, even if it's just a tomato. And insists on giving Shidou his spinach in return when Shidou wants to give him his natto)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, Fuuta is the one who actually approached Mikoto to check on him. Fuuta cares and makes SOME effort to have a good relationship with others he's just uh. He's trying, okay.
Yet, in t1 at least, a good portion of the others generally disliked him or looked down on him in some way. Kotoko on the other hand was in pretty good terms with everyone until t2. (Aside from Mikoto, but that's because Kotoko doesn't like him, not the other way around) And considering the fact that Fuuta wants that acceptance so bad, Kotoko has that ideal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And side note, do you ever think about how their murders frame both Kotoko and Fuuta’s ideal self as fallen heroes tainted by blood?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or how these two saw each other as pretty similar at first before their true differences hit them both in the face?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And also how Fuuta starts t1 by seeing Es (and you) as the enemy but then draws a direct parallel between him and Es (and you) in t2? But Kotoko does the exact opposite, starting out in T1 and T2 trying to team up because of your similarities, and then ends up seeing you as weak by the end?
Ohhh 03 + 10 character foils…

Hii! :)
Can you do imagine request "Nap dates"? I had inspiration when i was listening Angus & Julia Stone's song Nothing Else. Y/n is working for Sumerian Records and is interested tour management. Sumerian sent her with Matt to work with the production so Matt can focus more on audio things. Y/n is first shy and trying to focus 120% only working but Noah is trying to get Y/n in every way. She is almost thirty years old and single, for the first time in a completely foreign environment. She is a native Finnish speaker and still looking for a little communication in English. She's a little shy, slow to ignite, but she's also been eyeing Noah, but scared that everything will go wrong. Her motto has been that you don't eat from the load. She talks a lot about how she misses skin to skin touching, but is too afraid of having relationships or sex with strangers and Noah suggests nap dates. She has a rule: no sex, no kissing, only cuddles and naps. Y/n is gemini ja Noah is Scorpio so they are not compatible and they try their best to fight off their interest in the other, but they still end up trying nap dates. Eventually they become romantically interested in each other and they end up kissing and having sensual, but mind blowing sex.

The flight from Finland was almost thirteen hours. I check the time once I land then make a quick call to the record label once I'm out of the terminal, following the signs to ground transpiration. Even though this is my first time on any foreign soil, thanks to the help of the internet and the amount of English I know, I'm able to maneuver my way through the airport well enough to get to where I need to be. Still on the phone, my boss tells me there's an Uber waiting for me outside that will take me to the hotel where I'll be staying. In the morning, one will pick me up and drive me to the studio to meet with the man I was sent here to work with.
A while back I mentioned to the label that I was interested in learning more about tour management in America, so they set me up with a guy named Matt with a strange last name I couldn’t pronounce, and arranged a meeting with him via video call. I liked him instantly. He was easy to talk to and had a really nice personality. I knew we were going to be a good match Upon exiting the airport, I see the Uber waiting for me. I climb in and we head to the hotel where I check in, find my room, then showering, and finally sleep. The drive to the studio the next morning is a quick one. I'm nothing but a messy bundle of nerves the minute I walk inside, wondering why I ever agreed to take this job. Turning the corner, I see two men standing in the hall and they both smile the moment they see me. My cheeks redden instantly.
Tumblr media
"Hey, can we help you?" a man, wearing a black ball cap asks. He has dirty blond hair down to his shoulders, a pointed nose and a very cute smile. He looks at me as if he recognizes me, and I admit to myself that he, too, looks very familiar. "I, uh, yes. Maybe? I don't know actually."
My English comes out slower than I want it to, but at least they can understand me. The other guy, tall with long brown hair pulled up in a messy bun, smiles at me too and proceeds to speak to me in Swedish. I sigh in perfect joy. We carry on a brief conversation where I explain who I am and why I’m here, learning that his name is Joakim, but his friends call him "Jolly", and that he is part of the band that I'll be working with.
"And this," he says, clamping a hand down on the shoulder of the man with the ball cap, "is Matt, our tour manager." "Oh my gosh, I'm an idiot," I cringe, slapping my forehead with my hand. I look back up at Matt only to see him grinning at me. "You knew who I was the whole time, didn't you?" Matt slowly nods, unable to hide his smile. I nod, too, feeling completely embarrassed. "Hey, don't worry about it," Matt encourages me. "You've had a long couple of days. I'm sure you're beat." "Yeah, just a little. Jet lag is kicking my ass.” "Come," Jolly says, I'll introduce you to the other guys." I nod and follow them down the hall to a room on the right.
Nicholas, Nick who goes by Folio, and Noah; the three remaining band members. I shake each of their hands, smiling shyly at them, but stop and stare hard the moment I get to Noah. He stares at me, his expression is cool and relaxed and his disarming smile penetrates my entire body. Noah seems to be a laid back sort of person and it helps me to relax a bit. Matt takes me over to the sound equipment, asking me questions about what I know and what I'm able to bring to the table as far as tour production, and I'm honest and thorough, telling him what I know and can do. He's impressed and says I'll be a great fit. Glancing over at Noah, I catch the way he's staring at me. His brown almond eyes are deep and entrancing, making it extremely hard to look away. I take a deep breath and exhale it through my nose quickly, trying my best to refocus my attention back to Matt.
Tumblr media
It's been three weeks of work and I love my job. Matt is the best. Very easy going and easy to work with. His personality and intelligence match mine when it comes to work and pretty soon, the two of us, along with Noah, have a whole idea planned out for the upcoming tour. Noah is growing on me and I’d like to think I'm growing on him too. Getting to know him more, I learn he’s a little reserved and introverted like me, but very sweet, which is surprising to me considering his stage presence. Everyday I'm around him, my feelings about him change. The fluttery, butterfly feeling that would come and go is permanently there now and it only grows whenever we're together. It's ridiculous, actually. I'm thirty years old, not a teenager. Noah shouldn't have this sort of effect on me; yet he does. And if I'm being honest, I'm beginning to really like the feeling.
Tumblr media
The day I met Y/N face to face was the day my world turned upside down. I was drawn to her for reasons I didn’t know or couldn’t understand. I was never known to be a guy interested in the opposite sex to the point it was all I could think about. But she was; she was all I could think about.  I couldn't concentrate on anything but her and the way she moved so gracefully and the way she spoke, softly and slowly with her moderate Swedish accent that was thicker than Jolly's and much sweeter. Her smile was simple, but so bright. Whenever she used it, my heart would skip a beat and I couldn't help but smile back. Y/N was also very easy on the eyes. She was distracting. Every time she walked into the room, I found myself staring at her a little more than I knew I should, and the fact that she was single was mind blowing.. A woman like her shouldn't be. We became easy friends. The only problem was, Y/N devoted 1000% of her time to her job, never giving herself time to do anything else. Matt tried telling her not too, that he was afraid she might burn herself out, but she refused to listen to him, telling him it was just her nature to stay so busy.
Tumblr media
"So, there really is no man for you back home? No one that interests you?" Y/N shakes her head, taking a sip of her hot chocolate. I managed to steal her away from work for the day, taking her out for coffee, which turns out to be hot cocoa instead. We're sitting on a park bench, overlooking the ocean. A soft breeze swings in, blowing the small strands of hair out her face. I look over at her, taking a moment to soak in her delicate features that make her so pretty, and find myself feeling things for her that I probably shouldn't, yet I just can't help myself.
"What about you?" she asks, turning to face me. The soft twinkle I see makes me smile as I huff a small laugh. "Nope. No one. I mean there have been girls that I thought were pretty and nice, but in the end they just turned out to be too shallow or taken. I find it better to just not go looking for something, but instead let that something find me. I'm not in any rush." Y/N chuckles and takes a sip of her hot cocoa. "You mean to tell me all your fame and money doesn't buy you happiness like everyone says it does?" she jokes. I laugh. Laughing with her is so easy. "I'm afraid not. I don't want to be rich anyway. I just want to find my person and grow old with her." Y/N hums in approval. "How did you get to be so wise, Noah," she smiles, playfully. But I sense some seriousness. "Life wasn't always easy for me, you know. I had to learn that falling apart isn't always a bad thing. It taught me how to become someone, that's for sure." Y/N frowned. "We're all someone, are we not?" "No," I shook my head. "I don't think we are. Most people live life in a bubble, locked up in their minds, completely turned off to reality and what's passing in front of them. They spend their whole life looking for the next best thing instead of enjoying the here and now; instead of being present."
"Wow, yeah, I agree with that," she nodded. "You know, you're not like other guys, Noah. You enjoy going slow and sitting still while you come undone and allow life to pick you apart a little. I like that. It's refreshing." Y/N turns and looks at me and I can't help but trail my eyes over her face and wonder what it would be like to kiss her soft, red lips. She's the first girl I've had these sorts of thoughts about in a really long time. "Thank you," I say quietly. "You're welcome," she says, trailing her eyes over my face as well. "Can I ask you a more personal question?" She hesitates at first, but then says okay. "When was the last time you were with a guy?" Her eyes narrow. "Like? Romantically or sexually?" I feel my cheeks redden a little "Both." A small smile creeps over Y/N's lips.
"Um, it's been a while. I'm really backwards and shy and have zero confidence. Having a sexual relationship with strangers is hard for me because of that. And trying to get into a deep, long term relationship never works out because if I'm not willing to sleep with the guy then he loses interest. "Are you serious? Y/N you're beautiful! You should have a lot of confidence." "Yet, I don't," she laughed, turning away from me. “Also, you’re really hot yet you’re single,” she points out with a sly grin and I laugh. “Okay, point taken.” I playfully shove her in the shoulder as we remain quiet for a moment,  processing what we just learned about each other.
"I miss it though," Y/N confesses. "Miss what?" "Skin to skin contact. Not necessarily sexually or anything, but just like hand holding and soft, gentle caresses and touches. Cuddling, gosh I love cuddling," she giggles and it's the most adorable thing I’ve ever heard. "Especially when it's cold or raining. Cozying up together and falling asleep, or watching old movies in the dark. Those are the best."
Y/N's description sounds like this thing I read about in one of my weird, self-help books. It's a thing called nap dates and apparently it works when someone is missing the physical touch of another human being, so I mention it to her. "What about nap dates?" She looks at me completely confused, shaking her head. "What are nap dates?" "They're dates that people who are friends or in a platonic relationship have. You hang out with each other, cuddle, watch tv, sleep, you know, boring stuff." "Boring stuff," Y/N laughs, tossing her empty cup in the trash. "Well boring for those who aren't trying to make their relationship go anywhere."
We stand up, and I stretch, working out the kink's in my neck, grimacing in pain. "Are you alright, Noah," she asks, alarmed. "Yeah. I just have this insane knot in my shoulder blade that won't go away. It's been there for days and hurts like hell." "Oh, well sit. I can rub it out for you." I do as she says, making sure she has enough access to my back. The moment she lays her hands on me I feel the instant spark rip through my body. Her touch is electrifying. I can't help but moan and groan over the feeling of the way she works and messages the knot out. It's invigorating. But it's the way she's touching me that has my body all worked up. It's gentle yet confident. Strong yet sweet. And just the thought of never feeling it again sends my mind into a spiral.
"How's that?" I move my arm around feeling immediate relief. "Oh god that feels a million times better. Thank you." Y/N grins. "You're welcome." I take her hand and hold it for a moment, thankful she doesn't pull away. Her eyes are speaking to me, yet I can't read what they're saying. "Noah," "Yeah?" "The idea of nap dates sounds fun." "It does, doesn't it?" "You really want to try it?" "Only if you do," I assure her. "Okay," she grins at me again. "Let's try it. But there's conditions." "Sure," I agree, fighting hard to control my eagerness. "No sex, no kissing. Only cuddling and sleeping." I chuckle. Her conditions seem pretty fair. "Absolutely," I agree." She grins. "Okay, good."
Tumblr media
The rain is pouring down outside as Noah and I lay on the couch together, cuddled up under a warm, thick blanket. My leg is wrapped around his and I’m curled into him, burying my face in the crook of his neck. I'm engulfed by the scent of him and it makes me lightheaded. The abnormal fluttery feeling in my stomach that always comes around whenever Noah and I are together is hitting me hard in my chest, making my heart race. I'm not sure if it's anxiety or nerves, but it makes me snuggle into him deeper and wrap one arm around his torso. I take a deep breath and slowly let it out.
"Are you okay, Y/N," Noah asks softly. I know his eyes are still glued to the tv as his favorite show plays quietly in the background. He has one arm beneath me, holding me so I won't fall off the couch, while his other one is tucked under his head. "Yup I'm fine," I say sleepily, yawning big. "Awe, you tired?" I nod slowly. "Go to sleep. We have nowhere to go or nothing to do," Noah suggests, bringing his hand down on my head and slowly caressing my hair. The warmth of Noah's arms are the very thing I need to help me drift off into a lazy, comfortable nap.
Tumblr media
The night belonged to them. Nothing but the stars and the full moon watched them from way up above as they kissed one another. With her on her back, hands wrapped around his tattooed neck and fingers snaking through his newly trimmed brown hair, and him leaning over her, fingers tracing her cheekbones then caressing the side of her face, Y/N and Noah embraced the sensual feelings rushing through their bodies.
Night after night, day after day, their nap dates slowly began to take a different turn; they had developed strong feelings for one another. At first it started with their hands finding each other, fingers intertwining and playfully locking together. Then came the looks and slight smiles whenever they were around each other, the ones they thought they were being so secretive about. Finally, it came boiling over the night a huge storm rolled in with horrible wind, thunder, and lightning, knocking out the power for hours. It scared Y/N, making her cling to Noah as if her life depended upon it. Noah sang to her, held her while she rested her head quietly in his lap as he played with her hair. She fell asleep, only waking when she realized she was being carried to her bed. "Noah, please don't leave. Stay with me.” "Alight, I will," he promised, crawling into the bed next to her. The feeling of her body pressed so tightly against him made resisting the urge to kiss her impossible, but he did it anyway.
At first he thought Y/N would panic, freak out, or get mad at him because of their agreement when they first arranged their nap dates. But Y/N did the opposite. She turned all the way over, facing him and allowed Noah to devour her lips, her mouth, and her body, stopping only when it was about to go too far. "Not yet, not like this," Y/N whispered in the dark. The word "yet" clung to Noah's heart and mind like a magnet. He agreed, kissing her once more.
Now, here they were, tangled up in one another beneath the stars, unable to stop their hungry appetite for the other. "Noah, let's go home," Y/N mumbled against his lips. Noah smiled at her mention of the word "home". "Why? I like kissing you beneath the stars." Y/N giggled. "I know, but I'm not comfortable enough to do this out in the open. I’m sorry. I hate being the way I am sometimes.” Noah stopped kissing her and met her gaze. "I like you just the way you are," he told her, loving the way she smiled at him. He pulled her in and laid a soft kiss on her forehead. "I want to do nothing else but fall into your arms and let you have your way with me. I just can't do it here." Y/N confession had Noah's mind reeling. "You're going to let me have my way with you?" he asked. "If you'll have me," she answered quietly. Noah grabbed her and kissed her, standing up immediately after they parted. "Let's go."
Tumblr media
Noah opened the hotel room door for Y/N and she walked in as he flipped the light switch on, locking the door behind him. His tall frame loomed over her small figure that was the picture of perfection against the black backdrop of the room behind her. She stared at him with eyes so intense he thought she could see right through him. And in that moment, Noah wanted nothing more than to just feel her naked body against him.
Leaving just the entry light on, he guided her back into the darkness of the room, thankful that the soft glow of the moonlight and the parking lot lights filled the room with enough light for them to still see one another. Noah ran his hands down her arms, feeling the instant prickle of her skin as he did so, making him shiver, too.
Without a word, he removed his shirt, then his shoes and socks, moving close to help Y/N do the same. Even though he knew she wanted to do this, she still looked alarmed. "When was the last time you were with a guy?" Y/N was quiet for a moment, unsure if she should be truthful or not. But, to do this right, she knew she had to be. "Two years ago." Noah's mouth fell open. "Why? I mean, I don't... " "There was no one worthy enough, that's all. I don't just sleep with anyone for fun, Noah. I have more respect for myself than that," she stated firmly. He closed his mouth quickly "Does this mean I'm worthy enough? Us being here together, alone, about to do the very thing you say you don't give to just anyone?" Y/N smiled up at Noah shyly, raising her arms as he lifted her shirt above her head and tossing it to the floor next to his. "Yes, Noah. You are more than worthy enough. I want to give in to you completely, mind, body, and soul. I just need to be assured that I won't regret it in the end."
He held her face in his hands when he kissed her. Noah didn't ever want her to go away again. It was as if her mouth had suddenly held all the oxygen that kept him alive. Undoing the clip of her bra, Noah gently pulled the straps down and she let it fall, revealing herself to him. He sucked in a slight breath, licking his lips instantly. "I have such a fucking weakness for you, Y/N," Noah confessed, carefully pushing her down on the bed and laying her back. "I have since the moment I saw your face on that video call. I was drawn to you, for reasons I didn't understand." He latched his fingers around the waistband of her leggings and pulled them off, leaving her only in her white cotton panties, which he quickly took off and shoved into the pocket of his joggers. "For safekeeping," he winked at her, making her giggle.
Looking down, Noah stared at the naked body before him on full display. Y/N was beyond beautiful. She was a perfect work of art, something to be worshiped and adored. Lowering his face, Noah trailed slow kisses over her stomach, feeling how it dipped from the way his lips tickled her, making him smile against her skin. Y/N ran her hands through his hair, moaning from the feeling of it running through her fingers as Noah placed kisses all over the front of her body.
From her stomach to her breasts, Noah went slow and steady tasting every single part of her. Wrapping an arm around her waist he arched her back and rolled her hardened nipple with his tongue making the noises coming out of her sound so intoxicatingly sinful. He was obsessed with her, and every touch, every sound made Noah feel more unhinged. He sucked her breast into his mouth as much as he could, nipping at her silky skin while flicking her nipple with his tongue over and over. Pulling back, Y/N cried out in protest of his absence, making him chuckle darkly. Standing to his feet, Noah slipped off his joggers and boxers at the same time, freeing his hard erection. The sight made Y/N shiver with absolute lust, and she couldn't wait to have him between her legs. "Spread your legs for me, Princess, and do as I say, alright," he whispered in her ear. Y/N obeyed, releasing a loud, content sigh over feeling him between her thighs.
"I want you in the worst way, Y/N," Noah confessed, rutting himself lightly against her soaked, throbbing core. She was already a panting mess, ready for whatever happened next. "Your taste, your scent, and I want the feeling of your skin next to mine. I want it all tonight," he whispered, staring her straight in the eye. Y/N swallowed, placing her hand on Noah's cheek. "Then take me, Noah. I'm all yours."
Without another word spoken, he reached down and guided the tip of his hard cock to her entrance and eagerly began taking her at his pleasure. Noah felt like heaven inside her. The sound of her first escaped moan as her body took him in and he spread her open wide was the best music to fuel his passion. He shivered when her nails dug into his back and his head fell into the crook of her neck as he began to pump hard and fast into her tight, wet core. The sheer ecstasy of it all threatened to tear them both apart and shatter them into a thousand pieces.
Noah grabbed Y/N's hips with purpose, aligning himself perfectly so that he could thrust hard and completely down to the very base of all he had to give her. She moaned for him, wrapping her legs tight around him and squeezing with all her might. No longer caring who could hear, Y/N cried out his name, biting his shoulder and pulling him in close to suck the warm, wet skin of his neck, Noah's own breathy moan seemed to accompany her sounds perfectly as his cock filled her entirely and hit the soft spongy spot of her cervix. Nothing could make him weaker than the feeling of her clinging to him and moaning "harder" in his ear as he bottomed out inside her, trying his best to cling to sanity.
"Oh god, you feel so good. Fuck," Noah groaned breathlessly, as he felt her writhe beneath him. "I'm a fucking mess for you, Y/N," he confessed, pounding into her a little harder and clamping his large hand around her thigh, pulling it up higher to get a better angle. She pulled his face into hers, latching her lips to his and feverishly kissing him while tugging on his hair collected between her fingers. "Fuck!" Noah growled," thrusting harder.
"Noah, I'm close," she whimpered. "I know, I can feel you. Goddamn, you're so tight, baby," he groaned. The pad of his middle finger rubbed circles along her clit, pressing down a little harder and making her squirm in delight. The way her back arched off the mattress mixed with her wetness gathering on his fingers, Noah knew she didn't have much longer. His hand took her leg and hiked it up higher against his side so that he could thrust even deeper down within her. The screams of her pleasure, echoing off the walls of the hotel room were pornographic,
"Noah," she cried, running her nails down his back, making him seethe in pain and pleasure. "That's it, cum for me, baby," Noah ordered, moaning as his head fell into her neck once again. Y/N's hands moved up his chest and around his neck and he made a sound deep in his throat that thrilled and frightened her to the point that her trembling walls shattered around his cock and she came as the hot rush of blood pulsed through her veins. Every muscle in her body tightened around Noah as he guided her through her orgasm until he felt himself tightening. He thrusted into her once, twice then pulled out and groaned deeply, spilling his warm release over her stomach
Spent, Noah's head fell against hers, his sweat mixing with her dampness, and he kissed her, long, hard, and still full of so much need. He rolled over and got up, heading for the bathroom Y/N laid there, panting, dazed over what just happened. Never in her life had she experienced sex like that before and now that she had, she only craved it more, but only if it was with Noah. He came back to bed carrying a warm and dry cloth, carefully cleaning up his mess. She watched him through sleepy eyes, sweetly caring for her until she was clean.
Noah tossed the towels to the floor and pulled back the blankets, climbing beneath them, still fully naked. Y/N narrowed her eyes at him as if to question if he was sure and he held up the blanket, motioning for her to come close. She was sleepy so she crawled over to him and snuggled deep under the blanket that Noah tossed over her, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her into him so that her back was pressed tightly against his chest." You have no idea how much I like you," Noah confessed quietly to her in the dark. "How much you make me smile and how much I love talking to you." Y/N smiled to herself, squeezing his arm in approval. "Yes, I do," she replied. Noah was quiet for a moment. "Then you know how much I wish you were mine." She took a breath and sighed, and because she felt so warm and safe, Y/N closed her eyes. "You have me, Noah. Until the very last star in the galaxy dies, I'm yours."

Y/N and Annie were always friends, best friends actually. Even when y/n was away at university half way across the country and Annie was at hers they found ways to always meet each other on holidays.
It was New Years Eve, their senior year of college. Annie was basically begging her friend for a chance to meet a hot guy at her campus to take out for a midnight kiss at a party.
Y/n hadn’t known many guys she’d consider to be her friend's type, well other than her own crush Wonwoo.
Wonwoo was in her major, a tall reserved nice guy, who at first glance most girls would just pass off as another business major. But, behind the rims of his various glasses, he was soft and handsome. Y/n always knew her dream was to find a way to get him to ask her out or maybe muster up enough courage to do it on her own.
“Y/n you must know at least like two hot guys, this is a fancy ass stuffy uni. I saw at least five at the coffee shop this morning.”
“I mean, if you’re into that. Sure. Maybe you should’ve asked one of them.”
“What about you? Don’t you want your final college new years experience to be full of fireworks?”
“Technically it already will be. Fireworks are kind of the thing on new years.”
“Ha-ha, funny.”
Taking a spot on the bench outside of your dorm, Annie was scoping the area for two handsome enough men to ask out for the night.
“Them.”
“What? Them?”
A wave came from across the quad as Wonwoo and his friend Woozi approached y/n’s familiar face.
“You know them? They’re perfect, why are you hiding them on me?”
“Oh, well they don’t really party. Either of them actually, more like video games and take out types.”
“Come on, don’t lie to me.”
“I’m dead serious. I’ve seen them drink probably once?”
“That’ll change, watch.”
The boys finally reached their destination, standing in front of you and your friend who was twirling her pink bubble gum around her manicured finger.
“Hey, y/n”
“Hi guys, what are you up to-“
“Y/n aren’t you going to introduce me to your friends?”
“I was getting to that, yes. Annie, this is Wonwoo and Woozi, Wonwoo, Woozi this is Annie.”
“Wow, your name is Woozi, that’s interesting. What does it mean.?”
She had it all wrong, she assumed Woozi was Wonwoo and vice versa, but seeing the two guys laugh a little at her attempt to flirt was some sort of win for you all on its own.
“Uh, actually I’m Wonwoo, this is Woozi.”
“Jihoon actually, Woozi’s a nickname.”
“Oh so cool, so Wonwoo and Jiwoozi, what are your plans for the night?”
You noticed Jihoon’s expression changed when he realized Annie was only interested in talking to them because she wanted a chance with his friend.
“Annie, they’re probably busy.”
“No actually, we got invited to a party at Gillies Bar, Seungkwan must have told you about it?”
“Yeah, y/n. Come on, let’s go with them.”
Annie knew you had kept the party a secret from her, she was unsure why since it was a tradition for you.
“We can pick you guys up at y/n’s room around 8? If that’s cool.”
“That’s amazing, see you later tonight.”
Annie blew a kiss to the tall male and pulled you along to your dorm.
“Why didn’t you tell me about them?”
“Like I said they’re normally busy and not into parties.”
“If you like Wonwoo you can tell me. I won’t go for him.”
“Oh, no it’s fine. We’re just friends.”
“Alright, amazing. His friend is handsome too you know, maybe you should go for him. He’s more your style, subtle, you know?”
“Right.”
Sitting on the semi lofted bed, covered in your favorite throw blanket you sat and watched Annie try to find the perfect outfit rifling through your mountain of clothes.
“Oh my god, I love this top. Can I wear it? Or do you want to wear it? I mean red goes way better with my skin tone, but it would look nice on your body.”
“You’re good, I’m going to just wear whatever.”
“No way, you have to wear something hot. Empress Jiwoozi or whatever.”
“Jihoon.”
“Yes, him. Let me help you.”
“I don’t need help. I have something in mind.”
“Aw, my girl is all grown up.”
Something about that night changed the trajectory or your plan, well the plan you had made up in your head about how your life would turn out. Maybe if you were just honest about your feelings for Wonwoo yourself you’d never be in the position of being the maid of honor in their wedding party.
You were happy planning their engagement party, but you couldn’t help but feel delusional almost like you were planning your own party for yourself and Wonwoo.
The night was perfect, white lilies, a champagne fountain, everyone dressed in black and white to leave room for the future bride and groom to be dressed to the nines, when it was over you were left alone with the catering team cleaning up.
That was until Wonwoo came back through the front door of the restaurant.
“Hey, what are you doing here? I thought you guys went home.”
“We did, but Annie was freaking out. She told me she left her bag somewhere.”
“The red Gucci?”
“Yeah, red something.”
“It’s here. I found it a while ago, I was going to call and drop it off but her phone was inside.”
“Oh, you could’ve called me.”
“I didn’t even think of that, well here you go.”
“Y/n, want me to help you clean up? It’s late, there's so much to do.”
“Doesn’t Annie need her purse?”
“She can wait a few more hours, it’s alright. I’ll message her on Instagram, maybe she has her computer open.”
“Alright, sure.”
“Want another drink while we work?”
“I have an open bottle of beer behind you, catch up.”
Wonwoo and you spent a little over an hour finishing your cleaning duties and escaping the restaurant with two stolen bottles of champagne wrapped in brown take out bags, and started walking to your apartment just five blocks away.
“So, you never told me you were such a good party planner.”
“That’s because you never partied until you met Annie.”
“I still don’t like it to be honest. She drags me out most of the time. You never seemed like the party type either. Except for that one time you were singing karaoke at that weird frat party when I met you. What was it? Living on a Prayer?”
“Please don’t bring that up, I’m pretty sure I exclusively remember flashing my underwear to everyone.”
“You did, I remember it well.”
“Ew.”
“No, not like that weirdo. You were just funny that’s all, everyone was so shocked that the perfect student y/n was also a grade a flasher.”
“It was clearly an accident, hence why I do not wear skirts anymore.”
“You should. You looked nice.”
“Okay, what about you? That same night you threw up in the Kim kids room when you were making out with some girl.”
“That’s not at all what happened.”
“Oh really?”
“Yeah, I was actually trying to take a break from the party and some girl followed me into his room and tried to kiss me, but vomit saved the day.”
Laughing with Wonwoo talking about just five years before you were here today, you stumbled up to your stoop attempting to bid him goodnight.
“Actually, do you mind if I use the bathroom, please.”
“No it’s alright, come on.”
While Wonwoo relieved himself in your bathroom, you quickly changed into your pajamas and slippers, needing relief from your heels and buttoned up pants. Not realizing you left your bra resting on the back of your couch.
“Thank you. Oh- you’re ready for bed? I should head out.”
“You left your fly undone.”
“Shit. Actually, do you mind if I just sleep on your couch? My phone died and I don’t have my wallet to get an Uber?”
“That’s fine, yeah.”
“Cool, thank you y/n.”
“Since you’re staying, do you want some hot chocolate or something? I need to have it before I go to bed, especially after drinking.”
“Yeah, I would love some.”
You sauntered into your kitchen, still in view of Wonwoo sitting in his sweater and nice tailored pants on your couch, warming up the two cups of hot milk before dumping the chocolate powder and mini marshmallows on top of the warm liquid.
“Here you are.”
“This smells amazing, thank you. I miss having you make hot cocoa for me and woozi when we would all game at night.”
“How is Jihoon? I haven’t seen him in so long.”
“He’s good. He was supposed to come tonight, but got stuck at work. He wanted to see you.”
“Speaking of gaming by the way, we could play if you want?”
“Are you serious? Annie gets so mad at me when I game at night and don’t come to bed with her.”
“Well she isn’t here so come on.”
“You’re going down, y/l/n.”
“Okay, Jeon.”
Wonwoo and you played various games over the next course of two hours, celebrating you beating him and when he would beat you, just laughing and enjoying your time together over two cups of cold chocolate.
“Oh my god, you’ve gotten worse. I’ve never beaten you in Mario kart before.”
“You cheated.”
“How the fuck could I cheat? You cheated.”
“Wait. You have chocolate on your lip. May I?”
“Yeah, sure. Thank you.”
Wonwoo’s finger gazed over your top lip, rubbing at the small chocolate stain slightly. Looking into his eyes you missed feeling this close to him and that your friend had gotten what you always wanted, like she always did.
You inched closer and closer slowly into his touch and his lips before they crashed into him.
Kissing Wonwoo was a dream you had for years before he had ever gotten with Annie, it made sense.
“Fuck. I’m so sorry, holy shit. Okay, I’m going to go to bed, sleep well and uh- yeah, night.”
“Wait, y/n. Stop. It’s okay.”
“It’s not okay. You’re engaged to my friend, I crossed a huge line.”
“Can I tell you something bad? Well something I know? Annie has been cheating on me for years, with this guy she works with at her firm. I found his boxers in the laundry and I know they don’t belong to me because I’ve worn the same brand of underwear since high school. I looked on her phone and she has texts and calls from a person whose name is just a heart emoji. I don’t want you to think I’m just using you to get back at her, because if I’m honest I always loved you or liked you or whatever. I’ve wanted a chance to break up with her for a long time, but I keep letting her tell me what to do.”
“She’s cheating on you?”
“Yeah, it’s been going on for a long time I think.”
“What the fuck, but you kissing me now doesn’t make up for that you can’t just get back at her with me and then stay with her.”
“I don’t want that. I want to be with you. I always wanted to be with you.”
“I want that too, but you have to break it off with her now. You guys got engaged, you’re going to get married.”
“I’ll go now. I’m serious. I’ll come back tomorrow to see you, just wait for me?”
“What do you think I’ve been doing for the last five years?”
“Okay, just give me time to break it off with her.”
“Okay.”
It was safe to say you didn’t get that much sleep that night, but when the sun came back you were startled by a furious knocking on your door.
Running to open it and hear how it all went down you expected Wonwoo to be on the other side of the door, but it was Annie.
“What are you doing here?”
“He broke up with me. Me! He said he found out I was cheating on him and I mean I did, but we’re human and mammals and we all cheat no?”
“Wait, what happened?”
“Wonwoo. Broke up. With me. He was supposed to run out and grab my purse from the restaurant and come right home, but he didn’t so I just assumed he was out with Jiwoozi or something drinking. But he never came home, until a few hours ago anyway. He told me he knows about my affair and he’s in love with someone else? Like what the fuck.”
“Well I mean you can’t blame him, Annie. You did just admit you cheated on him.”
“You’re not seriously taking his side are you?”
“I’m just saying you can’t expect him to just not care. You guys are engaged, it's not like you just started dating.”
“Oh come on. He’s so boring you know that, he’s either working all the time or playing childish games with his friends.”
“So him not cheating on you or caring that you cheated makes him boring?”
“Yes, I mean he has no fun. Ever. And when he was breaking up-“
Annie paused and looked at the jacket hanging by your door, she knew who it belonged to and her rage set off like a rocket.
“Is that his coat?”
“Oh yeah, I found it in the restaurant last night. He must have forgotten it.”
“No. He was wearing it when he left to go find my bag. He was here.”
“Well.”
“Well nothing. You’re taking his side because you’re the bitch he’s in love with right? Aw. Poor little y/n always losing to me and then trying to take my sloppy seconds. That’s so sad.”
“What the hell is wrong with you? You have literally zero empathy for anybody else if they don’t fucking fall at your feet and feel bad for you.”
“So he was here?”
“Yes. He said we just talked about your infidelity and had hot chocolate.”
“Did you fuck him?”
“No.”
“Hah. So you’re the bitch he’s in love with. Well you’re perfect for each other. You’re a bunch of clowns. I’m fucking done.”
“Good. Get the fuck out of my apartment.”
Annie opened the door prepared to make a run out of your apartment building but when she opened it Wonwoo was standing on the other side of the door, just listening to the intense conversation you were having.
“Oh, of course you’re here.”
“I came to tell y/n I broke up with you.”
“Why? So you can be together finally? Have boring fucking kids and a boring fucking life together?”
“No, so I can finally be with someone who understands me for who I am and doesn’t take advantage of me.”
“God that’s rich.”
“Yeah, I am. Now can you get the fuck out of the way so I can go inside and see my girl.”
“God. Fuck you both.”
Wonwoo walked past the girl who broke his heart into the arms of the girl who can piece it back together and slammed the door on his way in.
“Well.”
“I'm sorry she freaked out on you, y/n.”
“I’m not. She doesn’t get to speak to people that way especially when she’s a hypocrite.”
“That’s true. Come here.”
Wonwoo’s arms wrapped around your frame and pulled you up, wrapping your legs around his waist and pulling you into a long kiss.
The kiss had deepened into Wonwoo placing you on the edge of your bed and slowly unbuttoning your green pajama top, which revealed your soft skin underneath, he took his hands and placed them behind your head kissing you once again, trailing his lips from yours, to your neck, and down in between your breasts.
You felt the need for more connection, something further. Maybe it was the adrenaline running through your body from having him this close to you, being this exposed to him for the first time. Maybe it was the fact you just blindsided someone you thought was your friend, but truly was the one holding you back and making you small. Maybe it was a little bit of both.
You pushed yourself back on your bed towards your pillows and pulled his much larger frame on top of your half naked one, tugging away at the front of his sweatpants, trying to weave your hands around his dick.
He swiftly pulled off his shirt now chest to chest with your bare skin. Still running your hands through his hair.
It was quick and magical. Sending shockwaves down to your still clothed bottom region.
Wonwoo tugged your pajama bottoms down your thighs to your ankles, still leaving the small piece of fabric covering your pussy.
His fingers rubbed circles around your clothes clit, adding friction to the feeling and making it much harder to keep whatever cool you had left.
He pulled his own pants off now, rubbing his clothed hard on on your thighs back to that center spot, working his lips around your hard nipples.
Finally inching your panties down the same way he did your pants before, pressing his pointed finger near the spot for entrance, teasing you further.
You pressed your hips into his hand, forcing his fingers to enter you further and began fucking yourself on his fingers, while he nipped at the skin on your neck.
Through the top of his boxers the top of his penis was peaking through begging for your fingers to be wrapped around it or even better your pussy.
His precum was slipping out, making its way onto your mattress, waisting away as you contributed you ride your high against his long fingers.
Wonwoo removed himself from your neck for a singular moment to pull the long friend from his pants and tease your hole, rubbing the tip of his penis from top to bottom, pretending he couldn’t find the spot to enter in.
Finally euphora found you, as he slowly entered inside of you, pushing your legs further towards your head getting a good look at the girl he’s loved forever as he thrusted hard into her center.
His balls were clapping up against the back end of your ass as the high you were riding starting stirring in your stomach, you knew you were reaching the moment of relief as he fucked you harder and faster.
A sudden burst of cum whipped out of you all over his pelvis, and you watched as he smiled brightly proud of his work.
He came down on top of you, pressing you legs closer together so he could get a tighter fuck as he rode out his final moments being inside you for the first time.
Just before he finished he prompted you to sit up and opened your mouth wide with his fingers, lining up his perfectly pink throbbing penis with your mouth, pumping it with his hands until he reached his moment, filling you up and watching the smallest amount dribble down your chin.
Going in for one final kiss, a long one, he smiled into it. It was less fierce and feral than the ones before and more sweet and loving.
“I’m glad I finally got what I deserved.”
“Mmm, me too.”

I'm not a shipper by nature, just putting that out there. But, uh, Dungeon Meshi does things to me.
Anyway, I've shared my Farcille thoughts, so now to blabber about a different popular ship: Labru. The Hot Mess. The Disaster Couple.
Firstly let's talk about the -bru part of the ship. Kabru is a neurotic little twink with PTSD and anxiety. I don't think that's in any sort of doubt. He exudes an entirely false confidence to hide his crippling self-hatred and survivor's guilt. For some reason, this makes him incredibly attractive to nearly everyone he encounters. Rin has the traditional tsundere crush, his whole party firmly believes in him (more than reflects his actual abilities), the ninjas blush when he smiles at them, even dead-hearted Mithrun warms up to him over time. The omakes take this even further: his landlord cleans his room for him, Dia's fiancé breaks down in tears when talking to him, and Holm's sister clearly wants to get it.
Kabru's not blind to any of this. He weaponises it, really. He's manipulative to an artform! Then he meets Laios. The Monsterfucker.
Laios' sexuality is not immediately clear from the manga. He definitely has a little flame for Marcille - between his awkwardness over touching her, his succubus taking her form, his illusion memory of her focusing on her power and strength - it's not love, I don't think it's even a crush, it's just that "boy sits across the table and stares intently at you" sort of feeling.
He doesn't show any direct interest in men but dearly desires their companionship. He practically kidnaps Shuro and - even though he struggles with Kabru's name at first - takes a liking to him instantly.
So do they make a good ship? Hell no, they're fucking awful together, but it works. Kabru just natually slithers in as advisor, and Laios is more than happy to have someone take all that off his plate. If there's anything there, I think it's one-sided from Kabru, and whatever feelings he has for Laios are based in his total confusion over how Laios just... survives. He finds him fascinating. Intriguing. Possibly sexually. If everyone else is an open book, Laios is the eldritch tome he cannot decipher and will burn him if he touches it. You can see why this ship seems to naturally arise from the canon.
But from Laios' point of view, I think he's... sort of homoerotic asexual? His feelings towards Marcille are more like a fascination with the exotic and monstrous (because she's Not A Tall-Man, and he doesn't want to be one), but his interactions with male companions are much more open and affectionate, even if he's a bit oblivious about it. I think he'd openly appreciate Kabru but wouldn't realise they were in a relationship until literally at the altar.
As another user put it: Laios is a human fascinated with monsters and wants to be one. Kabru sees himself as a monster and is fascinated with humans. They definitely compelement eachother.

ranking breaking bad/better call saul characters by bangability
this is based purely on my own personal taste and headcanons. reply/rb with your own rankings! :3
16. chuck mcgill
starting out, we have chuck. i’m sorry to all the chuck fans out there, (because i adore you) but he is likely the last character in the brba universe that i’d bang. he reminds me of a wet paper towel, and we would not be sexually compatible in any way. i'd better not fuck chuck
15. walter white
oh, walt… you stupid son of a bitch. i would never bang him, he doesn’t deserve it. he is a greedy lover that only cares about getting himself off. once he's finished, the sex is over. i feel bad for skyler (or, jesse, if you subscribe to that) knowing she’s never been satisfied.. more on that later.
14. hank schrader
hank seems like the type to only want to do doggystyle, idk why i’m getting this vibe. i wouldn’t bang him because i can see him being very inattentive. aftercare? who’s she?
13. marie schrader
marie is a beautiful lady, but we’d likely be very incompatible. she seems very traditional. i can see her in a cute nurse outfit and appreciate, tho.
12. todd alquist
i don’t want to bang todd, but if i did, i know he’d be on some cbt freakshit. he definitely wants to be stepped on and i think we’d at least have a little fun if we banged.
11. tuco salamanca
tuco is fucking crazy but i would give him a chance if it was my last day alive. i know he lays psychotic pipe and has probably strangled people to death while creaming them.
10. gus fring
he's really pretty, but he seems like he'd be very controlling and emotionless. also seems like the type to have a crazy fetish that he must incorporate every time you have sex. anyway, the short, brooding type isn't mine, but i know he'd be thorough, so that counts for something.
9. howard hamlin
i think he's a handsome guy, but imo he'd be pretty stale in bed. he gives pillow prince vibes though and i feel like i could get down with it.
8. skyler white
mommy. i would treat her right, just saying. she's gorgeous and i like that she's tall. even though we might not be into the same stuff, i'd still hit.
7. mike ehrmantraut
i like mike's attitude and overall personality, and he's a handsome dude. the only problem is his age. i know i'd have to be doing tricks on it for this old guy. would it be worth it? honestly i don't know. why is he so high up on the list? uh... finger
6. lalo salamanca
i’d fuck lalo because i know he knows how to fuck. dude’s obviously a pro who i’ve got nothing on. i’d let him take the wheel and do whatever he thinks is best.
5. lydia rodarte-quayle
she literally wouldn't like me, and i'd kind of be into it. i may or may not want to worship her feet and legs. i'm with todd on this one.
4. nacho varga
sooo i know i said i didn't take my men short and brooding, but i need to motorboat him. nacho is super cute, and even though he'd probably be too quiet for my taste, he'd make up for it in physical strength. i know he'd be a beast on top. he could take some anger out on me fr..
3. kim wexler
the things i would do for her aren't even funny. if she said jump, i'd do a backflip for the first time in my life right there on the spot. honestly, her confidence would make me very nervous, so i don't know how well i'd perform, but if she gave me a chance, i'd be on my knees for her in a heartbeat. she could enslave me. it's encouraged, actually.
2. jesse pinkman
i would do him right if it was the last thing i did. i’d give him my all. our souls would mesh and shit. i’d be helplessly in love with him afterwards and there’d be nothing i could do. he is beautiful like a siren’s call and to that i say ahoy matey. i would drown
1. jimmy mcgill/saul goodman
and in first place: JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!! i’d fuck this guy sideways, on the ceiling, day in day out like it was my job. clocking in for the dick. i think i’d enjoy sex with jimmy no matter how well he performed. saul on the other hand might feel a little grimy but i can see him being more skilled. either way, if i got to bang him, i'd die happy. thanks for reading!

I Have Nothing (If I Don't Have You) (Steddie X You)
Tumblr media
A/N: Like I said last week, I was watching the music video for "Queen of the Night" by Whitney Houston from the soundtrack of this movie and it gave me this Steddie idea.
I have a few ideas I can take this! I seriously love protective Steddie. Probably something to do with my PTSD and need to feel safe lol Anyway... I hope you enjoy it! I dedicate this to @unfocused81 <3
Warnings: No smut (yet😈) but angst for sure. Security Steddie and Singer female reader. It is mentioned that Y/N does drink excessively and do drugs. Her boyfriend is a douchebag and assaults her (mentions of smacking and grabbing her, yelling at her, and calling her names) that results in Steddie intervening. There is also a bit of a riot at one of shows that they protect her from (kind of like that scene in the movie where people jump on stage and chaos ensues).
I wouldn't really call this dark themes but reader definitely has some things going on and is struggling a lot right now.
Work count: 5906
“What kind of security work have you guys done before?”
Your manager leans against the outside of his desk as he continues to scan through the messages on his phone.
“Oh, um, we’ve done a lot before for the bar in our town and most recently a rock band in—”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.”, the manager cuts Steve off as he speaks. “That’s all well and good. Look, I’m going to level with you. This is essentially expensive babysitting. Y/N is a handful. Our last security detail quit when her last party at her house caused a riot in the streets of LA.”
“A riot?”, Eddie turned to his friend and raised an eyebrow inquisitively.
The guy sets his phone down, sighing with impatience. “Yes. Obviously, you two don’t read or watch the news…which is good. Saves me the headache. Now, do you want the job or not?”
Both boys glance at each other before looking towards the man again. “Um, yeah sure. I mean it pays, right?”
“That’s the spirit. Ok, she’s at the studio downstairs right now recording…or at least that’s what she’s supposed to be doing. Go introduce yourselves. Glad to have you aboard.”, he rolls his eyes as he shoos them out of his office.
“Steve are you sure about this?”, Eddie asks as they head for the elevator.
“Yeah. Come on, Munson. This is our ticket to high-rate clients and more money! We can handle one little girl.”
As soon as they get off on the right floor, they are met with extremely loud music and giggles from the studio room. A tall, lanky kid leans back in his chair extending his hand to greet both boys.
“Hey, are ya’ll the security? I’m Devon. She’s in there ‘getting inspired’.” Their eyes follow his finger as he points behind the glass where you and some of your friends were strewn around the floor. “Good luck, gentlemen.”, he sings.
Both men carefully tip toe around arms and legs to find you with your eyes closed, a half smirk painted across your lips.
“Uh, Miss Y/L/N? I’m Steve Harrington and this is Eddie Munson. We’re your new personal security guards.”
“Hmm…sounds sexy.”, you slur. Your glassy, drug fueled eyes look up to meet theirs. “At least Jack hired some good-looking ones this time. Who is who?”
“Maybe, if you stood up and actually greeted us, you would have heard who is who the first time.”, Eddie chided.
Your eyes fully open as your head tilts in his direction. No one ever had the balls to scold you like that since you became famous. It was usually “Yes ma’am” this or “Anything you want, ma’am. We’ll make it happen.”. Rising to your feet, you fully take them in through your haze.
They both were attractive especially with that air of confidence you hadn’t seen in a long time. Your current boyfriend was cocky but definitely not confident. Everyone else around you seemed so fucking timid and you hated it.
“Eddie. Steve.”, Steve repeated, pointed to his friend then himself.
He was dressed head to toe in what you would call “conventional” clothes; nothing designer or anything to make him stand out. You could tell under the button up white, short sleeve shirt that he did have muscles that could protect you physically if need be. The jeans and sneakers he donned didn’t give you any new information that could tell you something about him except he probably didn’t make a whole lot of money.
Eddie was more or less the same with a much more grunge fashion sense that, to you, he pulled off well. You pointed to his Metallica t-shirt with your finger.
“My music isn’t like theirs. It might make your ears bleed.”
“As long as I can still see you and see you’re safe, I think I’ll survive.”
He’s quick witted. I like that…
“Ok. We’ll give it a try. Tomorrow, you’ll meet me at my house and I can tell you more about what you’ll be doing.”
***
“Steven Harrington, have you read half this stuff?”, Eddie sighs as he leans forward and places his elbows on his knees as he points at things on his laptop.
“She’s been arrested twice; once for possession and another for disorderly conduct where she was found having sex with someone while she was drunk in public. The cops have been called to her house multiple times due to, honestly, take your fucking pick. Her boyfriend was arrested just last week for sucker punching one of her fans for ‘getting too close’. How are we supposed to protect someone who invites all this chaos into her life.”
“I don’t know, Ed. The same way you protect anyone I guess.”, Steve leans back on the couch as he takes a sip from his bottle of beer. “Again, this is just a steppingstone. I’m sure after a few months of handling her, any number of high value agencies will want to hire us. WHICH MEANS…”, he glances towards Eddie. “…you need to control your Dom voice.”
The metalhead chuckles as he leans back as well. “It’s going to be hard with a fucking brat like her. Dude, she didn’t even have the common courtesy to say hello.”
“I know… I know… but just, try. For me?”

It takes you awhile to open the door when they knock but when you finally do, you look completely hung over.
“Yeah, come…come in. Do you want something to drink? Jack? Vodka? I have them all.”
“It’s 10am.”, Steve responds as he looks at his watch.
You raise an eyebrow at him before heading for the kitchen and grabbing the whole bottle of Jack Daniels. “If you’re boring, Eddie. Just say that.”
“Steve. I’m Steve.”
“Right now, I don’t care—”
“We can tell.”, Eddie growls.
You blink as you look up at him. You’ve never wanted to toy with a man so bad in your life. He wasn’t even trying to hide that your disrespect was bothering him and honestly you couldn’t get enough.
“I’m sorry, gentlemen. I don’t do mornings. Unfortunately, my manager insists on scheduling interviews for me that require me to up at this ungodly hour.” They watch you as you slump onto the couch and throw your arm over your eyes. “So, how much did Jack tell you?”
“Uh, just the basics. We watch out for you.”
“Good. It’s just following me around and making sure I don’t get swarmed or murdered. I’ll give you guys a key to my house before you leave today and when I stay at hotels I’ll do the same. You’ll most likely be staying in the same room as me anyway so…”
The sound of banging on your front door makes you cringe. “I guess I’ll get it.”, Eddie sighs as Steve’s eyes follow him. “Your makeup people are here, your highness.”
A big grin spreads across your face as you turn your head to look over at them. “I like him. Steven, you need to start stepping it up or he’ll become my favorite.”
The metalhead lazily glances towards his friend with playful wide eyes. “Well, lucky me.”
***
As snotty as your attitude was, they couldn’t deny how beautiful you were especially after your prep team was done putting you together. The makeup hid all damage you had done to yourself the night before and the outfit they had you in sexily showed off all your curves. Your eyes shifted to them, watching them as they looked around.
“No one is going to shoot me in here, boys.”
“Hm. You never know.”, Eddie exhales as he points to things. “Someone could come in through that back door behind you or because no one checks any of these people’s IDs, someone could sneak in pretending to be a hair stylist and take you out like that.”, he snaps his fingers.
“Bags that hold all the beauty and camera equipment are big enough to hold even a rifle let alone a handgun. That’s implying someone would want to shoot you instead of stabbing or blowing you up.”, Steve followed.
“Wow. Just charming.”
“It’s our job, Miss Y/L/N.”
“I think due to the circumstances you can call me Y/N.”, you grin.
The producer gets your attention, walking you through the questions that would be asked and how the interview would go. The boys watched you in amazement as your personality practically changed when the camera went live. No one would ever be able to tell what you did behind the scenes or any other narrative then the one you provided.
An hour later and after many questions, the interview ended and your face fell.
“God, I need a drink.”
“Can we at least go over the tour first?”, your manager whined.
“Baby!”
You excitedly got up and ran to your boyfriend’s arms. “Simon!”
Everyone in the room cringed at the heavy smacking sounds that left you two as he continued to sloppily kiss your lips.
“Who are the new guys?”
“Babe, these are the new security guys. This is Eddie and Steve.”
They stand up to shake his hand but as Steve extends his palm the man looks down at it like the gesture was beneath him. “Yeah, listen boys, hands off, okay? She’s mine.”, you giggle as he slaps your ass.
“Come on, baby. I got a surprise for you.” You squeal as he lifts you over his shoulder and carries you towards your bedroom.
“Y/N! We still have things to go over!”, Jack shouts as the door closes loudly.
#########
“I want to go home, Steven. It’s 2am and they’ve been fucking in there all god damn day. At this point we shouldn’t have a client anymore because he killed her by not giving her any food or fucking water. It definitely won’t be due to her climaxing because I haven’t heard that happen yet.”
“We can’t leave until he does.”, Steve sighs. “Or she dismisses us for the evening.”
As if on cue, Simon saunters past them into the kitchen, casually opening your fridge, and begins chugging from a jug of orange juice. “Um, I’m pretty sure you two can leave. She’s not even here.”
“What?!”
“Yeah, I’m assuming she climbed out the window after I crashed. She does that to escape the security teams. It’s kind of a rite of passage honestly.”
“Where would she go?”, Eddie growls.
“Um, there’s a bar about a mile up the road. She likes to walk there for some reason.”
***
“So, pretty lady. Do you want to come back to my place tonight?”
“Ugh, no. Get off me. I just want to drink in peace.”
“Oh, come on, honey.”, the man slurred.
“Hey! The lady said no.”, Steve’s voice echoed through the bar as he starred the man down. “Leave. Now.”
The patron held up his hands defensively, staggering back towards his table.
“Come on, Y/N. Time for you to go home.”, Eddie motioned for the bartender to stop serving you as the other boy reached into your purse to pay him.
“You’re my security. Not my fucking dad. I can stay here and drink if I want.”
“You’re at a bar in a nightie, shorts, and flip flops at 2 in the morning. It’s a safety concern.”
“Oh shit.”, you giggle. “I am in my nightie.” Steve roughly grips your arm and tugs you out the door towards his car. “Let me go, you fucking dick.”
A switch flips in the man’s brain; he can’t help it. For the past couple of days, he’s tolerated your disrespect but like Eddie, he hated it. They both could handle a lot but you were pushing them too far. Still holding onto your wrist, he twirls you towards the vehicle till your back hits the door.
“Now, listen here because I’m only going to say this once. We’ve handled the tone and the blatant disregard for what we do but it ends now. Our job is to keep you safe not fucking babysit some spoiled, rich washed-up singer. This is the last time you pull a stunt like this; do you understand me?”
Steve’s body was so close to yours you could feel his angry breath fanning your face. It had been ages since someone put you in your place like this and you’d be lying if you didn’t say you were a bit turned on. A new feeling washed over you though as your eyes scanned his face. For the first time since you entered this industry, you actually felt safe.
They weren’t afraid to be blunt with you which compared to everyone else in your life was a nice reprieve. You knew 90% of the people in your life, given the chance, would sell you out in a heartbeat but would still stand there and tell you how perfect you were.
“Yes.”
“Yes, what?” Eddie’s voice startled you, completely unaware he was standing beside you with his hands in his pockets, glaring down at you with those same angry eyes.
“Yes, I understand.”
“Good. Now get in the car.”
#############
That following morning, they half expected to be fired but were surprised when you opened the front door as soon as they knocked.
“We have to go to the studio first and then I have to get ready for the gig tonight.”, you mumbled as you swished around them, trying to get in the backseat of his car to no avail. “Can you open the door…please?”
Eddie caught it in your tone first…something wasn’t right and it had nothing to do with them.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Can we just…”, you gesture towards the car.
“HEY! When you get back tonight make sure it’s with a better fucking attitude!”, Simon yells from your front door.
“Well maybe I won’t come back, you free loading mama’s boy!”
“Stupid bitch should learn how to talk to a man.”, he muttered under his breath as he slammed the door shut.
Steve and Eddie exchange a look before the metalhead speaks to you. “Is that something we need to handle?”
“No. He’s just being a fucking prick.”
He opens your door and you slowly slide in before both men do the same. As the car begins to move, Steve keeps checking on you in his rearview mirror. Your sunglass covered eyes remain focused on the window as you stare out into the California streets.
“I’m sorry about yesterday. About leaving and keeping you guys out late when you didn’t have to. Simon just pissed me off and…”
“Does he talk to you like that often?”
“No. Sometimes he’s an asshole.” You flash them a sassy smirk that grows when you see Eddie try and hide his own at your sarcasm. “He’s just…hot headed, you know? He’s been through a lot.”
“And you haven’t?”
Your eyes swivel to Steve before glancing down at your hands. “Nothing I can’t handle.”
“He shouldn’t be talking to you like that, Y/N.”
“Yeah, well, neither should I so…”
“Just because you have an attitude doesn’t mean you deserve to be treated like trash. Maybe you just need someone stronger who can handle it and not take it personally.”
“Oh? And who would that be, Steve? You?”
“Aw, Munson, that’s cute. She thinks we can’t handle her.”
“Y/N, sweetheart, we’ve dealt with worse than you.”, he smiles as he turns around in his seat. “It’s you that can’t handle us. Thankfully though we aren’t in a relationship so we’ll never get to find out.”
“I never say never, gentlemen.”
****
After going over the tour dates, everything you would be doing, and everything you need, your next stop was the venue you would be performing at tonight.
Eddie cringed as the feedback of the mic echoed around the building.
“Hey! Try plugging it into the correct port!” The young man shrugged his shoulders causing the metalhead to go over and show the boy what he was doing wrong.
“Let me guess? Rock and Roll drummer in a Metallica cover band?”, you grin at him as the mic starts picking up your voice perfectly.
“Guitarist and our own band, not a cover band.”
“What about you, Steve? Are you musically inclined?”
“Unfortunately, no.”
“What are you good at?”
“Babysitting.”, he raised his eyebrow in your direction making your smile grow.
As the additional security from the venue finally arrived, you watched with fascination as the guys took on a more authoritative tone, telling each person where they would need to be. Time slowly dwindled till it was about twenty minutes before the show. You began pacing as you shook out your preshow jitters.
“Hey, they say they are ready for you to head towards the stage.”
You jumped at the sound of Steve’s voice. “Goddamn it! Okay, fucking thank you!” His eyes narrowed in your direction as he came in and closed the door behind him. “Can I help you with anything else?!”
“Are you alright?”
“Jesus fucking Christ, you’re not my father, Steven, or my friend. Get the fuck out! I’ll be right out!”
The boy bites his bottom lip as he nods his head. “Yes ma’am.” As he starts to open the door, he pauses turning to face you again. “You look really beautiful, by the way. Your voice is amazing. Eddie and I have actually never heard any of your songs before today. This will be our first concert. I’m excited to see it.”
Your wide, glassy eyes turn to look at him as he slowly begins to close the door again.
“Steve! Thank you…”
##########
That night you gave it your all and then some. Occasionally, you would glance down at the bottom of the stage watching as Steve and Eddie’s demeanor remained focused on the task at hand. Sometimes, however, you would notice a foot tap to the beat or a head would bob to your lyrics. If this was the first time they were attending a Y/N concert, you wanted them to enjoy it and show them what you bring to the entertainment table.
So many people when you were starting out told you that you would never make it. That your dream of becoming a singer was a pipe dream for people with “actual talent”. Since day one you always felt like you had to prove yourself, hell, even before you started singing. In your house growing up you felt like you had to fight to be seen.
Once you crossed that threshold, everything came easier but you never stopped fighting. Fighting the fear of being nothing again, the knowledge that everyone in your circle just wanted a piece of you and what you earned. Fighting to keep everyone happy including yourself. The alcohol and drugs helped immensely or at least that’s what you believed. You thought it helped numb your brain and the pain so you could just get through every day.
When Eddie sassed you in the studio, you knew he was different. For a while you couldn’t get a read on Steve until that night outside of the bar. The fact that neither of them had asked you to hear their demo tape or hit on you was already a point in their favor but they genuinely seemed to want to protect you so you wanted to return the favor in some way, your voice.
When the concert ended, they snuck a peak at you. Eddie was never a fan of the type of music you sang but he couldn’t deny that what you did sing went straight to his heart. Steve noticed that while you sang, it was like you transported to a different place. You seemed calmer and more in tune with yourself, making you seem more confident than when you weren’t.
This was the first time since they met you that you genuinely seemed happy.
Something in the atmosphere changed. Maybe it was too many booze served at the bar or just the energy of the evening but people in the crowd started chanting for an encore. You were exhausted having gone longer on your set then you were supposed to already. You gave the crowd your best smile, thanking them for coming out, and telling them how much you loved their support.
A fan jumped on to the stage and Eddie was quick to pull him back down. Panic set in as you watched the crowd start to fight with each other and the security team jump into action. The metalhead was in front of you and you hastily gripped his arm as he scanned the area trying to find Steve.
“Harrington?!”
After tapping his shoulder, you pointed to the corner near a wall where you saw the boy in a fist fight of his own. Eddie pushed you towards the side of the stage behind a curtain.
“Don’t move! I’ll be right back, ok?!”, he shouted over the chaos as you gave him a firm nod.
You watched as he jumped off the platform, running to pull the man off his friend and shoving him to where you were hiding. Steve didn’t even hesitate as he lifted you into his arms and they both ran down the hallway. They didn’t stop until they reached their car and placed you in the back seat, him climbing in with you as Eddie sped away.
“Wait…what about Jack…and everyone else?”
“No. We have to get you out and away from the building especially during a scene like that.” Steve searched through his jacket pocket for a tissue, placing it against his nose when he finally finds one.
“Are-are you okay?”
“Yeah. Fucking asshole got me good.”
About a mile down the road, Eddie parked the car into a gas station and got out to check you both over. “What happened, Harrington? Let someone get the best of you?”, Eddie chuckled.
“Dude, they cornered me so fast especially after I pulled him off of the venue’s security guy.”
“Did I do that? Did I do something wrong?” Their head swivel around to look at your frightened frame. “Th-that’s never happened before…I-I-I…”
“Hey, hey, hey Y/N. It’s ok. You didn’t do anything wrong. I seriously think it was just…”, Eddie shrugs. “Beer and a packed in place. People just being…too rowdy. It happens but that’s what we’re here for.”
The man throws his arms up in surprise when you suddenly tackle him, wrapping your arms around his waist as you press your head into his chest.
“Thank you…so much.” You let him go as you turn to give Steve a hug as well. “I’m so sorry you got hurt.”
When you started to pull back, his arms came down to hold you to him. “Hey, better me than you.”, he gently sighs, “Come on. Let’s get you home.”
#######
“Oh my god! What the fuck happened?! Baby, are you okay?” Simon ran to you from his place on your couch as you and the guys entered your house.
“The concert ended a bit roughly but I’m ok. Really…”
“Isn’t it your job to fucking protect her!?”
“Yes and we did that.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?! Look at her! She’s a mess and she’s shaking!” Your boyfriend charged up to Steve who glared down at him as he continued to yell in his face.”
“Simon, leave them alone. Please, I just want to get this crap off and go to bed.”
Eddie gripped his friend’s arm as he spoke to you. “Is there anything else you need, Y/N? Do you feel safe enough for us to leave and let you rest?”
“Of course, she fucking does. I can take care of her.”
Your eyes met theirs as you nodded. “Thank you.”
“We’ll talk to Jack and everyone in the morning.” The metalhead tugs at Steve forcing him to back down from your boyfriend. He flashes you one more cursory glance before turning around and leaving you for the night.
###########
“You boys did good last night. I don’t know what happened but you knew what to do.” Jack gave them a smile as he nodded his head in approval. “Please keep up that vigilance next week when we go on tour. I think—”
“Wait. You’re still doing the tour next week?”
Your manager looked at Eddie in confusion. “Yes? Why wouldn’t we?”
“I mean…she just went through a pretty traumatic event. I couldn’t imagine getting back up on a stage immediately after something like that.”
“Yeah, well, your security not a musician so—”
“I actually am but whatever.”
Jack sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose as speaks to you. “Do you feel like you need more time?”
You didn’t even hear the man’s question. Since they picked you up and brought you to your managers office, you had been uncharacteristically quiet. You were thinking about everything including what transpired last night. It WAS incredibly scary but they did pull through and keep you safe. Not only did they look after you but each other; you appreciated that loyalty.
Now as Eddie defended you, thinking of your well-being, you felt yourself spiraling at the action. No one cared about you this much and they barely even knew you. What was their end game? What made them tick? What made them this way? Was it genuine or was it just their jobs?
“Y/N!”
“Huh? Oh, um, I mean…a week would be fine…especially if I can just rest…”
“Yeah, sure, whatever.”, Jack responded in a nonchalant tone. “Go ahead and take the week but be back here on Thursday so we can go over everything.”
You nod as you head out of the office with your protectors in tow. “Hey, um, did you guys want to go get some lunch or something?”
***
“So, why security?”, you ask as you bite into your burger.
“Like Steve said, I mean, we’re good at it.”
“Well, good at protecting people. Security work just allows us to get paid for it.”, the man smiles as he takes a sip from his drink.
“And you two have been friends for a while?”
“Since high school.”
“And where was that exactly?”
“You’re asking a lot of questions, sweetheart. Can I ask why?”, Eddie playfully narrows his eyes in your direction making you smile.
“I just…you two are very different then people we usually hire. I just want to know more about you.”
“Different how?”, Steve asks.
“I don’t know. You just seem to genuinely care.”
“If the people around you don’t genuinely care then you need to hire some new people.”
“Yeah, well, that’s hard to find in this industry.” You reach in your purse and raise a flask in their direction as you pour a bit into your coffee.
“Is that why you do things like that?”, Eddie gestures towards you drink.
“No, baby. I do things like this to keep me from going insane.”
“How about you do the healthy thing and stand up for yourself?”
You angerly turn your attention to Steve. “I can stand up for myself.”
“Oh? Is that why you let your manager, boyfriend, and entourage talk down to you the way they do?”
“Go fuck yourself, alright?! Look, I can stick up for myself and say what’s on my mind. For example, you two are complete fucking assholes.”, you growl. “I’m done eating. I want to go home.”
Eddie smirks as the other boy sighs. “Such a whiney, spoiled brat. I swear.” The metalhead pulls out his wallet, throwing money on the table as they both get to their feet. “Your highness.”, he gestures towards the front door.
“I’m not whiney or spoiled. I worked hard to get here and I’m not going to let you or anyone talk to me like that.”
“Yet you do.”, Steve retorts as he opens the back door to his car. You roughly reach across, slamming it shut. “I thought you wanted to go home.”
“Apologize to me.”
“For what? Pointing out the obvious? Frankly, I don’t get why you have such a low opinion of yourself. You’re beautiful, talented, and you have such a gorgeous voice yet you pump yourself with poison and let these people take advantage of you. Why?”
You exhale as you look towards the ground. “I can handle it.”
“You say that a lot.” Eddie folds his arms on top of the car as he leans onto his hands.
“Because I can.”
“By getting wasted?”
“My personal life is none of your fucking concern.”, you growl.
“You’re right.” Steve opens the back door again and this time you climb in. “You just seem like you deserve better.”
##########
“I swear, man, that girl is going to get us killed. Or put in prison after WE kill her.”, Eddie chuckles from his place on the sofa.
“I kind of like her.” The metalhead coyly raises his eyebrow at his friend. “Oh, come on, like you don’t?”, Steve sighs as he leans back against the couch. “There’s something hidden under all that sass and alcohol…I saw it when she was singing. I’d love to get to know that part of her better.”
Eddie grinned as he reached for his phone, smile fading when he saw the ID.
“Hello. This is Eddie Munson.”
“E-Eddie? I, um, I think—FUCK YOU! —I need help.”
“You stupid bitch! Open this fucking door right fucking now!”
Eddie ross to his feet, tugging at Steve’s arm as he searched for his keys. “Where are you?”
“I-I’m in my bedroom. Simon and I got into a fight and-and he’s wasted. Pl-please…I’m scared. He’s never been this angry.”
Steve had already started the car, speeding towards your house. “Hey, it’s ok, sweetheart. We’re on the way, alright? Just stay on the phone with me, ok?”
“I’m sorry I was so mean to you guys today. Fuck… you two seem s-so different. I-I just…”
“Y/N don’t even worry about that right now. Everything’s going to be alright. We’re almost there.”
“You think you’re so high and mighty! Think you can talk to me anyway you want to! Fuck you, you fucking slut! Open the door, Y/N!”
“Oh, sure! You fuck all the groupies and fans that show up to my concerts but I’m the fucking slut!”
“Y/N, stop engaging. Talk to me.” There’s a loud crash and a squeak from your side as the line cuts off. “Steve…hurry.”
Five minutes later, they are bursting through your front door, running towards your bedroom where they hear your boyfriend shouting. Steve tackles him to the floor subduing him with his knee in his back.
“Get the fuck off me!”
“Stop moving. You’re lucky I don’t fucking shoot you, asshole.”
“Y/N?”, Eddie softly called your name as you continued to cower in the corner with your head tucked into your arms. “Princess, everything is ok. I’m going to touch your arm.” You jump when his fingers graze your skin but you allow him to guide you to your feet. “There we go. Good girl. You’re doing so good. Can you look at me so I can check you out here?”
Your lips trembled as you faced him, his eyes slowly growing dark with fury as he scanned you over. Your face was red from your tears but he could also see where Simon had smacked your cheek. You had bruises that were starting to form on your arms where he must have grabbed you.
“I’ll call the police and EMS.”, he grumbled trying to contain his anger.
“No! No EMS. Please…I don’t need those pictures or attention.”
“But I do of me being pushed into a fucking cop car.”, Simon spat.
Steve grabbed his hair and hit his head into the carpet. “Shut. Up.” His eyes meet yours as he speaks in a much gentler tone. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah, um, I have a first aid kit here and all that so I’m fine.”
***
The police came by and took Simon away after taking everyone’s statements. Eddie and Steve took care of almost everything which you immensely appreciated. After everyone left, you expected them to as well but as your front door closed, you found you weren’t the only one on the other side.
“I’m going to see if I can get your bedroom door back on its hinges.”, Eddie turned the corner to head down your hallway as Steve followed.
You tiptoe after them, watching them with bewilderment as the metalhead got to work and Steve began straightening up the things Simon had damaged.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” They both froze, straightening up to look at you. “Why…why are you so nice to me? I’m such a fucking bitch to you. According to you, I’m a bratty, spoiled, washed up singer. WHY are you doing this?!”, you gesture around the room.
They glanced at each other and after a few minutes it was Steve who finally spoke. “How should we be? Hm? Should we be like him? Do you think you deserve to be treated like this, Y/N?”
Their voices and demeanor completely changed in the moment; talking to you like a little girl who had just run into your parent’s room crying about a monster under her bed.
“Sweetheart, NO ONE deserve to be treated like this. You didn’t trigger this. What he just did…isn’t your fault. You did the right thing calling us here. Now what kind of protectors would we be if we left you here alone with your house like this?”
You broke, sobbing almost uncontrollably as your hands covered your face. Strong hands tenderly grabbed your biceps, pulling you into a chest as you wrapped your arms around his back. Another palm delicately petted your head and for the first time in your life, you had never felt safer.
Stepping back, you wipe your eyes, glancing up to see Eddie’s kind, worry filled orbs running over your face as Steve stood beside him doing the same.
“Can, um, can we worry about this tomorrow and you stay here with me tonight?”
“Yeah, we can stay here, honey. Do you have another room you can sleep in? I don’t think tomorrow morning you should open your eyes and this is the first thing you see.”
“I have a guest bedroom down the hall here.”
“Good because I agree with Steve. We can sleep on the couches out here and—”
“Can you sleep with me?”, you interrupt, your question startling both men. “I-I-I mean, you don’t have to. I just… I’m still a bit scared. I’m…forget about it.”
Eddie grabbed your hand as you started to walk away.
“We can do that for you. If that’s what you want.” You nod your head to his statement, watching him closely as his eyes shift from security Eddie to something you had never seen before in any man. Whatever it was it made you feel weak in the knees. His fingers reached out to brush a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “Can you say it?”
“I-I want you two to sleep…in my bed…with me. Please.” That last word comes out almost in a whisper, pleading with them to stay.
Steve’s fingers softly caress your cheek before gliding under your chin, turning you to face him. He had that same look Eddie had, that air of confidence you remembered seeing when you first met them but more dominate.
“Good girl.”

Part of the Brother's Best Friend Universe
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
Tumblr media
It’s no glorious homecoming. You have little to be proud of. A broken relationship, a lost job, and wasted years. In hindsight, it’s easy to see how stupid you are. Even with the excuse of emotion, you can’t forgive yourself for your own poor choices.
Back to square one. Literally. What kind of forty-two year old lives with their parents? The one staring back at you.
You splash your face, rinsing away the collagen wash that doesn’t seem to help the wrinkles. If it had, maybe he wouldn’t have cheated. Maybe he wouldn’t be shacked up with a woman half your age. A girl, really.
You shake your head and sigh. Nothing you can do or undo.
You shut off the tap as you hear voices above. The basement is close enough to an apartment; you have your own bathroom and a reasonable amount of space. Privacy is another matter as your mother barges in to get to the laundry room or even just chatter about Clara’s casserole.
You dry your face and your hands and leave the bathroom. You cross the carpeted floor to the stairs and pause. Your brother must have got to town early and your parents are ecstatic to have him back. They can be proud of him; he’s an executive in a national company with a wife-to-be on his arm. Younger but always ahead of you.
You still haven’t found the courage to go up and say hello. Now’s as good a time as ever. You’re thirsty and they say hydration is the key to staying young. Yeah right, that’s not something you can change now.
You hope your future sister-in-law doesn’t mind your pajamas. The blue and white striped satin set are of the few nice things you salvaged from your former life. You open the door and shuffle up in your slippers.
The voices draw you to the kitchen. You peek around and find your parents standing on one side of the square island as your brother stands between two other figures. You didn’t think there was anyone else coming.
You think better of introducing yourself. You’ll go back downstairs and say you fell asleep. As you turn, your arm hits the vase on the side table. You cringe as it goes silent.
“Honey?” Your mother calls to you. You exhale and steel yourself.
“Uh, hi,” you sidle into the doorway, “I didn’t want to interrupt. I just wanted to get some water.”
“Nonsense, Jaydon’s here with his love fiancee, Tandi,” she trills as she beckons you forward, “and Jonathan popped in to catch up.”
You look around as you near the island. Jonathan. Pine? You didn’t think he was still around here. Everyone else seems to have moved on.
“Hey,” your brother, Jaydon grumbles.
“It’s so nice to meet you,” Tandi offers her hand with a bright smile. She’s tall and slim and beautiful and probably ten years younger than your brother. Why do men always do that?
“You too,” you give a strained smile.
“Nice to see you again,” Jonathan intones and you look at him, struck by his clinging eyes.
He changed but he is not unrecognizable. He was always the tall, stringy kid but he’s filled out, he has some lines across his forehead and around his eyes, but they only refine his looks. He used to just be your brother’s sidekick, now he stays straight and confident.
“You too, Jonathan,” you murmur, “sorry, I didn’t think you’d be here tonight.”
“We made pretty good time,” Jaydon says proudly.
“Just so happens I’m in town for a family affair as well,” Jonathan adds, “good a time as ever to reconnect.”
You nod and wait for someone else to speak. You have nothing exciting to boast of. You’d rather fade into the background in the shine of their achievements. You’re certain they’ve already been briefed on your comedy of errors.
“Me and Tandi were just saying we’d like to go to the farmer’s market tomorrow. You could join us for a ladies’ day out. We’ll give the men some space,” your mother chimes. “Get you out of the house.”
Her last comments sting. You’ve been hiding. You don’t want to be recognised or need to explain yourself. Even if you did deflect curiosity, you don’t need another reminder of all your failures. And the farmer’s market? What are you going to do there? You don’t have the money for overpriced heirloom tomatoes.
Still, you have to play along. That was the talk your mother had with you. Like a teenager she had to tell you exactly how to behave when company was there. Company? He’s your brother.
“Sure, that sounds good,” you agree.
“I’m so excited,” Tandi beams, “it will be nice to explore and get to know Jay’s hometown.”
She touches his arm and he promptly drapes it around her shoulders. Jay? He always hated being called that but he seems to like her. For now. Their show of intimacy makes you shrivel up inside.
“There is very much to see,” Jonathan quips, putting your own thoughts to words. “Quaint, as the polite would put it.”
“Well, I recall you never had any issue finding something to do,” your mother rebukes playfully and Jonathan smirks.
“Yes, but I don’t suppose it’s the sort of activity your little ladies’ day out would entail,” he gives a coy tilt of his head.
“I hope you’ve grown out of that,” your mother kids.
“Mm, I like to think I have,” he shrugs.
You’re certain he has. All of them are the adults in the room and you’re the hermit in the basement. You have no illusions, you know your mother, you know all your mistakes have been laid out on the table; on every table in town. Oh woe to her, she always did try to raise you right.
“Mm, yes, well, it has been so long and you are all adults,” your mother says, as if to affirm your resent, “you’ve all come such a far way.”
You bite down on your cheeks, holding your tongue. It’s probably not a snipe at you, you’re just sensitive. You look at the counter and try to make yourself small. The glimpse of your pajamas once more sets you apart from them. How embarrassing.
“Oh, yes, speaking of,” Jaydon pipes up, “the engagement party. You said you had a venue in mind. We should see that while we’re here.”
“Ah,” your mother nearly squeals, “you’re going to do it here?”
“We talked about it,” Jaydon looks at Tandi, “but the wedding is still up in the air.”
“Oh my, how exciting,” your mother trills. “Perhaps tomorrow then, we might do that as well,” your mother continues her giddy raving, “mm, and flowers, catering, oh! A dress…”
You could slip away right then. She wouldn’t notice. None of them would.
You peek over at her. She was never that excited for you. Well, you never got the ring. You were never that special. You tear your eyes away and they meet another pair. You quickly wipe the sadness from your face and send Jonathan a plaintive smile. His eyes narrow and his gaze lingers.
You break your own stare and try to focus on the conversation. You should be happy for your brother, not bitter. Afterall, you made your own mistakes, not him.

Hi how are you? I hope well! so i really like your writing actually ur my fav writer here on tumblr ;). So i had this idea for a fanfic by Miranda Hilmarson x reader. It was about Miranda being a traffic cop sometimes too and then she ends up giving the reader a ticket in one day and the reader gets really mad and even fights with Miranda, and then they end up meeting again, but what Miranda didn't know was that the reader would be her new boss!! From there I leave it to you, it can even be an enemies to lovers, you know.
I just had this silly idea, maybe you'll like it and I'd be super happy if you wrote it.💗
another thing! English is not my language, I'm literally writing this through Google translator so if something seems strange to you, you already know ☠️
A/N: thank you sooo much, that is so kind of you! I really liked this request and enjoyed writing it - it's my first time writing for Miranda so I really hope it's okay <3 just gonna post this and go hide now ahhhh
not your fault
Words: ~7.4k | ao3 link in title
Content/warnings: slight enemies to lovers, mentions of Adrian Butler (ugh), reader has a temper - poor Miranda is on the receiving end, mentions of cigarettes and alcohol, employee-boss relationship, angry Miranda, but also adorable puppy Miranda, nsfw (smut) - vaginal fingering, cunnilingus
Tumblr media
“Are you fucking kidding me…” You groaned under your breath as you snatched up the little piece of paper stuck between your windshield wipers - a parking ticket. You were already running late thanks to your cat having puked all over your carpet that morning, and thanks to the barista at the coffee shop who’d taken ages with your latte - and now you were going to be even later.
You whipped your head around, looking for the officer who’d given you the ticket. A tall, blonde woman in a police uniform was strolling down the line of parked cars, handing out tickets to each one. The officer turned as you stomped over, eyes widening as you advanced on her until you were standing right in front of her. You had to crane your neck up to look at her - in any other situation, you might have found this insanely arousing, but right now you were far too pissed.
“Care to explain this?” You waved the paper in her face - she went slightly cross-eyed as her eyes followed your movements.
“Uh, that’s a parking ticket, ma’am.” The officer swallowed visibly, taking a step back.
“I park here every goddamn day,” you hissed.
“I’m sorry…” She seemed a bit dazed and distracted for a moment as she regarded you, her eyes darting between your own, before straightening her posture and clearing her throat. “There’s, uh, a festival downtown this weekend, they’ve closed most of the parking zones until it’s over. There’s a sign at the start of the road.” She nodded her head over to a single sign set up at the next intersection, one that you had clearly missed in your rush.
You were seething, a billion arguments ready on your tongue, but the clock was ticking - and in the end, she was right, no matter how pissed you were.
“You know what, fucking forget it. I’m already running late! Thanks for nothing.” You stomped back to your car and crumpled up the parking ticket, tossing it on the passenger seat and groaning in frustration - the officer stood rooted to the spot, watching as you drove away.
~~~
Not wanting to get a speeding ticket in addition to your parking ticket, you took your time driving to the police station for your first day on the job. You’d just moved to Sydney to replace Adrian Butler as he left his position to “focus on his marriage” - you hadn’t even started yet and had already heard rumors of his extramarital affair with a constable. Men are pigs, you thought as you strode into the station and took the elevator up to the third floor, half an hour later than you’d planned.
The room was buzzing when you walked in but as soon as you cleared your throat and made your presence known, everyone went silent.
“I’ll spare you all the usual ‘first day’ speech - you should know who I am. I’m sure we’ll all get to know each other well over the course of the coming weeks, but for now I already have my hands full with everything that Detective Sergeant Butler so generously left for me.”
Your eyes landed on an empty desk near the center of the room. “Who usually sits there? Are they out sick?”
Some of the men began to snicker - one in particular answered your question. “Oh, that’s Hilmarson.” He smirked and took a sip from his coffee mug as he leaned against the side of the copy machine.
You raised an eyebrow. “And? Where is Constable Hilmarson?”
The elevator doors opened behind you and you turned around, eyes widening as you were confronted with the tall, blonde officer who’d given you a ticket. Her own shocked expression mirrored yours.
“That’d be her.” The man - Constable Brown, you’d later come to learn - chuckled, his smirk widening.
“Constable.” You glared pointedly at Constable Hilmarson. “My office, now.”
She frowned and followed you to the small office at the side of the room. You closed the door behind her and took a seat behind your new desk, gesturing for the officer to sit. She scrambled rather clumsily towards the chair and sat down, looking like a child about to be reprimanded.
“Constable Hilmarson, is it? Miranda?” You regarded her carefully. Her cheeks were rosy with embarrassment, her eyes wide as saucers. And, God, were they blue. They were mesmerizing. Miranda bobbed her head up and down in answer to your question, a bit of her pale blonde hair falling in her eye. She raised a hand to her head, dragging long fingers through her hair to brush it back - you had to physically shake your head to stop yourself from getting distracted by her movements.
“I like to be prepared, Constable. So I was having a look at your file the other day, you see, and I was under the impression that you are currently on a homicide case with Detective Griffin. Or am I mistaken?”
“Yes - I mean, no, you’re not mistaken.” Miranda shook her head furiously.
“Then pray tell, Constable - why on earth did you spend your morning handing out fucking parking tickets?” You couldn’t keep the venom out of your voice as you questioned Miranda - something about her was pissing you off (or maybe it was just the fact that you hadn’t even been able to drink your coffee yet), and you were having trouble reigning in your emotions.
Miranda’s face was bright red and her hands shook slightly. “I lost a bet,” she mumbled, unable to meet your gaze.
“Louder.”
She cleared her throat, her eyes locking with yours. “I lost a bet. I had to take over Constable Brown’s duties for the morning.”
You sighed, raising a hand to pinch the bridge of your nose.
“I’m not here to play games. Do you understand that?” Your voice was sickly sweet, bordering on condescension - it was not lost on Miranda, who was starting to look like she wanted to argue.
Evidently, she thought better of it at the last second, for she simply nodded as she glowered at you.
“You’re here to do your job, not Constable Brown’s job. And I expect you to do your job well. So, seeing as you’ve not only made me late, wasted your entire morning, and wasted even more of my time with this silly conversation, I would appreciate it if you could get to work. Now.”
Miranda stood abruptly, sending a stack of papers flying from your desk as she stormed from the room. You rubbed your temples, wincing at the force with which she closed the door behind her - you were already starting to develop a headache, and it wasn’t even 10 am.
~~~
As the morning went on, you found yourself growing more and more agitated, unable to focus on anything. You realized as your stomach growled for the fourth (or was it the fifth?) time that, in your rush, you’d skipped breakfast.
The second the clock hit 12 for your lunch break, you were on your feet. You’d have to work through much of your break to catch up, but you could afford to take a few minutes to grab a coffee and a granola bar from the vending machines in the lobby.
Passing by Miranda’s desk, you noticed that her chair was empty - the sight made your blood boil. You took a deep breath to calm yourself down - it was her lunch break, too, and she had every right to leave her desk during that time. Her messy, cluttered desk… You clenched your fists and headed for the elevator.
That wasn’t the only time her desk was empty, however. Throughout the afternoon, you would look up from your paperwork (you found that Adrian had been terrible at properly filing paperwork, making your job that much harder) every so often - and more times than not, the constable was nowhere in sight. With a frustrated sigh, you stood and strode over to open the window - you desperately needed the fresh air if you were going to make it home without strangling someone.
The sight of Miranda smoking a cigarette in the alley next to the station, just under your window, had you clenching your jaw, nostrils flaring. You couldn’t help yourself - you immediately headed towards the elevator and took rapid steps out of the station, rounding the corner and advancing on the constable, whose back was turned to you.
“Hilmarson!” you barked - Miranda flinched as she turned to face you.
“What did I do now? Am I not allowed to smoke or something?” She sounded agitated, and that made you even angrier.
“This is your fourth smoke break in the past two hours alone. If your habits are going to get in the way of your job, then I suggest you-”
“You know, you’re really stressing me out!” Miranda yelled back, gesticulating wildly as she spoke. “I’ll do my damned job, okay? You’re just really not making it easy.”
You laughed - it was hollow and sarcastic - and took a step closer to Miranda. Your face was inches away from hers now - this close, your eyes were drawn to her lips, soft and plush, trembling slightly with anger. A little scar adorned her top lip and your gaze lingered there for a moment, arousal pooling in your core - until Miranda brought the cigarette back to her mouth to take a drag.
Torn from your trance, you plucked it from her grip and dropped it to the ground, crushing it with your boot.
“Talk to me like that again and I’m sending you home for the rest of the day. Now get back upstairs.”
Miranda pushed roughly past you, her shoulder bumping into yours as she headed back into the station. You leaned against the wall and let out a loud groan, your eyes fluttering shut. Why was Miranda determined to make your day as difficult as humanly possible?
With a heavy sigh, you opened your eyes and pushed off the wall, following the constable back inside.
~~~
Your second day on the job started out significantly better than your first. You managed to eat breakfast, get coffee, and make it to work on time, all without getting a parking ticket or arguing with a certain constable. Miranda had been at her desk when you’d walked past it and, mercifully, hadn’t said a word to you - though you could feel her eyes on you as you disappeared into your office.
When you left your office for your lunch break, you found the main office empty - you figured most of your officers were taking their lunch break as well. You strode over to the little kitchen, reaching for the handle when the door swung open in your face - your body colliding with a much taller one. You heard a gasp above you and looked up to see Miranda standing directly in front of you, eyes wide, mouth hanging open in shock.
It was then that you realized your shirt suddenly felt a bit wet - your eyes fell to the half-empty bowl in Miranda’s hand, then to your torso, which was covered in milk and little pieces of cereal.
“Oh you have got to be kidding me,” you growled, pushing past Miranda and ignoring the apologies that poured profusely from her mouth. You grabbed a fistful of paper towels and dabbed at your shirt, quickly realizing that it was no use - you’d have to get changed.
You spun around when you felt a hand on your arm, glaring up at Miranda who looked down at you apprehensively. At your furious expression, she pulled her hand away as if burned. “Do you need help?”
Sighing, you closed your eyes and attempted to reign in your temper. “No,” you grit out. “It’s fine, you’ve done enough. I just have to go home to get changed, I guess.”
“Well if you don’t have a shirt with you then you can borrow mine?”
Your eyes flew open, meeting Miranda’s soft gaze before flickering down to her torso. “W-what?”
“I mean, I have an extra shirt in my locker.” Miranda gestured back towards the elevator with her thumb, a faint smirk playing upon her lips - the fact that you had just basically ogled her chest was not lost on her, apparently.
You could feel your cheeks turn red and you looked down at your own shirt, clinging to your chest - it had turned slightly see-through, and you could see your bra through the thin fabric. The drive home would cost you your entire lunch break, and Miranda did owe you for this… You sighed heavily.
“Yeah, sure.”
Miranda smiled, her eyes lighting up and crinkling at the outer corners - it was the first time you’d seen her properly smile, and it was beautiful. She crossed the kitchen and peered out the door into the office.
“The coast is clear,” she said with a grin, gesturing for you to follow her. You rolled your eyes and the two of you headed down to the empty locker rooms.
“I always bring something to change into after work,” Miranda supplied as she busied herself with opening her locker. “It might be a bit big on you but at least nobody will be able to see your bra.”
You started to unbutton your shirt, feeling Miranda’s eyes on you as you did so. It was hard to focus with the constable in such close proximity - you struggled with the buttons as you found yourself growing more and more flustered.
“Here, let me help,” she murmured, and before you could stop her, her hands were on the buttons of your shirt. Her fingers brushed against the swell of your chest, just above the fabric of your bra, and you shivered visibly, your mouth going dry.
“T-thanks but I got it,” you mumbled, gently pushing Miranda’s hand away. “Could you turn around?”
Miranda furrowed her brow, her face flushing. “Oh, sorry!” She placed a baby blue t-shirt on the bench next to you, then turned and studied the bare wall with great interest as you got changed.
“You can turn around again,” you said, clearing your throat. Miranda did as she was told, her eyes getting stuck on your chest for a moment before meeting your gaze. Your anger had all but dissipated, replaced with an unfamiliar and somewhat unsettling tension as you looked at Miranda, your stomach flipping.
“Uh, thanks,” you whispered. “For the shirt.”
Miranda’s lips curled up into a smile. “Yeah, of course. You know, I’m really excited to have another woman on the force. Last night I was looking into your case in Auckland before you got promoted - I talked to Robin about it, even she was impressed.”
For once, you were left speechless. For all the crap you’d given Miranda since meeting her, she seemed so genuine and excited to be speaking with you in that moment - you could feel yourself get flustered again, and all you could do was nod your head as she spoke.
“Oh, my lunch break is over so I have to go meet Robin but, uh, I’ll see you later, yeah?”
You nodded absentmindedly, stuck on the way Miranda’s hands moved as she spoke and the brightness of her eyes. She shot you one last grin before turning and taking long strides out of the locker rooms, leaving you to stand there in a daze, holding your wet shirt.
~~~
It was finally Friday and you’d been invited to go to the bar for drinks after work to celebrate the end of your first week - you stood in the lobby of the station, waiting for Robin to join your group before heading out.
Since the little cereal incident, you were trying to actively avoid thinking about, looking at, or talking to Miranda, but she was making that damned near impossible. When you’d returned her shirt back to her, freshly washed, she made sure to allow her fingers to brush against yours, sending a jolt of electricity through your body. She wasn’t at her desk much throughout the day, off investigating leads with Robin, and for that you were grateful - but every time you saw her desk, littered with empty takeout containers, paperwork, coffee mugs, you felt a twinge of annoyance, followed by a sinking feeling of guilt that you couldn’t quite place. As a result, you spent much more time than you wanted sitting at your desk, dissecting your feelings for the blonde but coming up empty.
The door to the station opened and a civilian walked in with a small goldendoodle on a leash. A gasp sounded to your right and you couldn’t help yourself - your eyes followed the sound just in time to see Miranda crouch down and extend her arms towards the dog, which jumped excitedly up at her, trying to lick her face.
You couldn’t tell who was more excited about the interaction - Miranda, or the dog. The blonde was letting out little squeals of delight, cooing at the dog as she buried her fingers in its fur.
“Pull yourself together, Constable,” you grumbled, annoyed mostly at yourself for the way your stomach was reacting to the sight of Miranda cuddling the dog. It was childish and unprofessional… You most definitely did not think it was cute. Not even a little bit, no… You blushed and looked away as Miranda stood up, missing the look of disappointment in her puppy-like eyes.
After that, though, you found you couldn’t even enjoy getting drinks with your colleagues - your mind was going in circles and you were unable to shake off this weird feeling in the pit of your stomach. You sat at a booth near the back of the bar, nursing a beer as everyone around you joked around and slowly got drunk.
You couldn’t keep your gaze from wandering towards Miranda, who was seated at the opposite end of the table. She sipped her beer, smiling occasionally at something one of the others said - your eyes, once again, got stuck on her smile. The upward quirk of her lips, the subtle scrunch of her nose, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. When she caught you staring, however, she quickly looked away, the smile sliding right off her face.
It affected you more than you would care to let on - as soon as her smile was gone, you wished for it back - desperately. And it was stupid, really - she’d somehow managed to sour your mood every single day this week, and yet your body was reacting to her in ways you hadn’t felt in a long time. With a sigh, you drained your beer and ordered a second one - this was going to be a long night.
~~~
If you’d thought your second week on the job would start better than the first, well - you’d quickly find out just how wrong you were.
Monday morning started like any other - you strode into the office with your coffee to-go cup, passing by Miranda’s empty desk. There was a half-empty bowl of cereal at the edge, stacks of manila folders and paperwork strewn over the surface, an empty, crumpled paper bag from the local bakery that had been tossed unceremoniously onto the computer keyboard. It stirred up a twinge of annoyance in you, but you tried your best to shake off the feeling.
Looking up and seeing the blonde standing at the coffee machine in the kitchen, you quickly averted your gaze and hurried to your office.
Your mind began to wander as you answered your emails and a flash of blonde through the window in your office caught your eye. Miranda walked back to her seat, a mug in her hand. She reached her desk and distractedly looked up, talking enthusiastically with Robin as she placed the mug down on a teetering pile of papers.
You looked on in horror as the pile slowly toppled over, spilling coffee all over her desk - you couldn’t bear to watch anymore, dropping your head into your hands in frustration as you heard Miranda let out a gasp.
Not my problem, you thought, trying to take steadying breaths. It wasn’t your desk that she’d spilled her coffee on, after all.
You stood and made your way to your office door, calling out for Robin.
“Yeah?”
“Did you manage to get a copy of the autopsy results already? I really need them.”
Robin shifted slightly from foot to foot, a frown growing on her face - you really didn’t like the look of that.
“Actually, I sent Miranda to get them this morning.”
Raising an eyebrow, you looked past Robin at her colleague, who was frantically wiping up the spilled coffee from her desk. “Hilmarson, can I get those autopsy results?”
Miranda looked up, freezing in her movements. Her eyes darted between you and her desk and her cheeks were rapidly turning pink. “They, uh… Got a bit soggy.” She strode over to you with a piece of paper in her hand. You took it gingerly, a look of disgust forming on your face as the entire thing was brown and dripping wet.
“What am I supposed to do with this?” you growled. Miranda shrugged sheepishly and muttered out an apology - you glared at her in return. “I need you to get me a fresh copy by this afternoon.”
Miranda opened her mouth to speak but you interrupted her, balling your hand into a fist and crumpling up the paper, tossing it on her desk. “And tidy your fucking desk like a grown up,” you snarled.
Miranda’s face was red as she turned sharply on her heel and stormed out of the office, taking large strides towards the elevators and disappearing from view.
“She grows on you,” Robin supplied quietly, watching you watch Miranda. You snorted.
“I doubt it.” Your stomach churned uncomfortably even as you said those words. Why did this woman have such an effect on you?
“She’s been having a rough time, ever since the breakup with Adrian.” Your eyes widened at this piece of information - you’d known about Adrian’s affair, of course, but you’d never thought it would be with Miranda. “They were going to have a baby together, you know.”
You coughed, choking on your own saliva. “They what?” You couldn’t picture Miranda as a mother - she was far too clumsy and chaotic… and goofy. And generous. Okay, maybe you could picture it, a little bit. Your stomach churned uncomfortably - you didn’t know the details of the affair, but breakups were rough - you’d moved across the country after your last breakup. You suddenly felt ashamed for being such a bitch to her.
“Yeah, well…” You cleared your throat awkwardly. “I have a lot of work to do, so if you don’t mind…” You forced a smile and Robin raised her eyebrows, nodding and leaving you be. You tried to focus after that but you couldn’t, your mind wandering quite insistently to a certain constable. Guilt began to gnaw at your insides after having been so harsh with her. You’d have to - you wanted to - apologize for your behavior.
You locked yourself in your office and finished replying to your emails. Even half an hour later, Miranda was still not at her desk - nor was she in the kitchen, the locker rooms, or the alley under your window. You finally found her behind the station, looking out over the water and smoking a cigarette.
“Hey,” you called, your heart clenching when you saw Miranda flinch as she turned to face you.
“Oh fuck. Look, I’m sorry, okay, I-”
“I’m the one who should apologize. Robin told me it was you.”
Miranda’s face scrunched up in confusion. She dropped her cigarette and took a step towards you. “Sorry?”
“You know, with Adrian.”
Recognition flooded Miranda’s features and she dropped her gaze to the pavement. “Oh.” She let out a hollow chuckle and turned again, walking towards the water and lowering herself to sit at the edge. You followed and took a seat next to her, leaving a healthy distance between the two of you.
“Men are pigs, you know?” Miranda said after a moment’s silence. A loud snort escaped your lips, causing Miranda to laugh - you hadn’t heard her laugh so freely before, but it made your heart soar and you thought it might be your new favorite sound in the world. It wasn’t quite melodic, not necessarily akin to birdsong - it was loud and unabashed and very Miranda, and for some reason you found you really liked that. You couldn’t help but laugh, too.
“You’re alright, you know that, Hilmarson?” you said with a grin, gently bumping your shoulder into hers. Miranda’s laughter slowly died out but the smile remained on her face, accompanied by a faint blush.
“Thanks. You are, too.”
~~~
“Hilmarson.” You slung your jacket over your shoulder as you strode past Miranda’s desk the following day around noon. Her eyes grew wide and she dropped the pen she was holding, straightening her posture. “Come with me.”
Miranda scrambled to get up, slipping her phone into her pocket and following you to the elevators and out of the building.
“Where are we going?” she asked, confusion evident in her tone as she scurried after you. You bypassed the parking lot, heading down the street instead.
“You’ll see,” you said with a smirk, wordlessly offering Miranda a cigarette. She fumbled around in her pocket for a lighter but you were quicker, holding up your own. “Hold still,” you murmured, holding the lighter up to her cigarette and lighting it for her, your eyes catching on the way her long, slender fingers held it, as if it were a delicate thing.
Your destination was a nearby coffee shop, and you held the door open for Miranda to step through. “After you,” you purred, smirking at Miranda’s wide eyes. After a moment’s hesitation, she scrambled into the cafe, waiting awkwardly for you at the counter.
“It’s on me,” you said before ordering yourself a latte and a sandwich. “Get anything you like.”
Minutes later, you were sitting together at a little table in the corner.
“Look,” you started with a sigh. Miranda tilted her head. “Can we start over? I haven’t exactly been fair to you. You aren’t the reason I was late last week. I was angry and took it out on you, and that was really shitty of me.”
“I did spill cereal all over your shirt, though,” Miranda murmured with a sheepish grin, her cheeks turning adorably rosy.
“Yeah. Yeah, you did,” you said with a laugh. “That’s not the point, though. You’re too good to let yourself get walked all over, you know that?”
Miranda shrugged, unable to fully meet your gaze and focusing instead on her panini, out of which she took a huge bite.
“Not by me, not by Constable Brown, not by Adrian - you’re a solid officer and you have potential, you just need to stand your ground more.”
“Oh god,” Miranda spoke through a full mouth, her voice slightly garbled, her eyes wide. “Is this a performance review or something?”
You laughed, your stomach flipping as her blush deepened. “No. I just…” You hesitated, biting your lip and looking away. I just really like you. “I just wanted to apologize. I want us to work together, not against each other.”
“Really?” Miranda grinned, her eyes sparkling - the hope written across her face nearly made your heart stop, and you nodded. “I was so scared when I found out you were my new boss. I really thought you hated me.”
“I did, too,” you said with a laugh. “But… for the record, I don’t. I hope you don’t hate me.”
Miranda’s cheeks puffed out as she chewed and she smiled widely. “I don’t.”
~~~
Ever since your lunch “date”, your feelings for Miranda were only growing. Your heart skipped a beat when you caught sight of her at the station, your stomach fluttered when you heard her voice. You even found yourself timing your smoke breaks with hers, just so you would have an excuse to chat with her and bask in her presence.
The following Friday at the bar, Miranda chose to sit down next to you. She placed a beer in front of you and offered you a wide smile - you felt your face flush as you muttered out an uncharacteristically shy “thank you”.
The two of you listened to your colleagues talk and banter - or rather, perhaps Miranda was listening, but you definitely weren’t. You were far too focused on the constable and your close proximity to one another; the way her shoulder bumped yours every so often, the way her hand flexed around her beer bottle, the way her throat bobbed whenever she took a sip.
Miranda laughed, throwing her head back, her shoulders shaking. She looked to the side, meeting your gaze - you couldn’t help but grin giddily back at her, chuckling a bit, and you could see her cheeks turn red as she returned your grin.
After your third beer, you started to feel a little daring - you placed your hand gingerly on her thigh, your touch feather light as you were afraid of crossing a line. To your surprise, Miranda placed her own hand on top of yours - it was warm and soft and large, and you could feel your pulse pick up as her long fingers curled slightly around yours. When you dared to steal a glance in her direction, you could see a soft smile playing upon her lips.
~~~
“Hey.” A low voice coming from the doorway to your office caused you to look up from your laptop. A smile involuntarily spread across your face seeing Miranda leaning awkwardly against the doorframe, her hands clasped behind her back.
“Hi,” you replied - Miranda hadn’t come into your office proactively since you’d started working at the station, but you supposed a lot had changed in the past few days. “Do you need something?”
Miranda shook her head. “No, I, uh, I actually wanted to ask if you’d want to come over to my place for a beer or something tonight?”
“Oh.” A swarm of butterflies erupted in your stomach at the prospect of spending one-on-one time with the blonde - who was looking increasingly like she was about to throw up, the longer you took to reply. “Yeah, yes, I would love to.”
Miranda’s eyes widened. “Okay, great. I’ll send you my address. How’s 7?”
“7 is perfect,” you said with a growing blush, chuckling as Miranda rushed back to her desk to grab her phone - your own phone pinged with a text moments later: an address.
~~~
You showed up promptly at 7, your heart pounding fiercely against your ribcage as you knocked on the door to Miranda’s apartment.
The door swung open to reveal the tall blonde, wearing the blue shirt she’d loaned you after spilling cereal all over you, as well as a pair of shorts.
“Blue is definitely your color,” you said before you could stop yourself. It really was, though - it brought out the blues of her eyes, making them shine and sparkle against her pale skin.
“Thank you,” Miranda said with a laidback grin, gesturing for you to enter her apartment. It surprised you to see that it wasn’t as messy as you’d have assumed it to be - it was definitely lived in, but it was clean and had very home-y vibes. More than anything, the first thing you noticed was the smell. It smelled like Miranda - light and clean, but with the faint scent of cigarettes clinging to the air. Her shirt had smelled like that, too, when you’d borrowed it, and though you never would have admitted it back then, you’d buried your nose in the fabric more than once before begrudgingly washing and returning it.
Miranda offered you a beer and guided you to her living room, settling on the couch and motioning for you to join her. The couch was relatively small and though you tried to leave some space between you, your knee ended up pressing lightly against Miranda’s thigh.
Despite your nerves, it somehow felt right to be in her space. You felt as though you were able to see a whole new side to Miranda - a side that you really liked. As the two of you engaged in some timid small-talk, you couldn’t help but wonder why she’d invited you - you hoped it was for the same reason that you’d said yes.
“God, I was so nervous to ask you to come over,” Miranda said with a cackle, shaking her head at herself before taking a swig of her beer.
“Were you?” The thought amused you greatly, and it gave you a shot of confidence. You dropped your voice an octave and leaned forward. “Do I make you nervous?”
Miranda looked like a deer caught in headlights, her eyes widening. Your eyes flicked briefly to her lips, to her wet, pink tongue darting out to lick them, and you found yourself leaning even closer.
“What would you do if I kissed you right now?” you murmured, scanning Miranda’s face for any sign of discomfort. Miranda’s pupils dilated and her lips parted slightly.
“I would kiss you back,” she whispered, her gaze landing on your lips.
“Yeah?” you whispered back with a smile. Miranda nodded slowly.
“Uh-huh.”
You closed the gap, your lips meeting hers - she tasted like beer and cigarettes, and her lips were impossibly soft. She kissed you back eagerly, whimpering a little as your tongue darted out over her lower lip.
You pulled back, your cheeks covered in a light blush.
“I’m sorry, I hope that wasn’t-” you started, but Miranda interrupted you with a second kiss, this one deeper and hungrier than the first as her hands grabbed your cheeks, holding you in place. Her tongue licked greedily at the seam of your lips, which you immediately parted for her. You let out a deep groan as her tongue slipped into your mouth, dancing with yours in near-desperation.
“You taste so good,” Miranda moaned, her voice low and sultry, and desire pooled in your core.
“Mmmh,” was all you could reply as your hands gripped at Miranda’s waist and you swung your leg over her lap to straddle her. Her hands slid down to your waist, then your hips, then came to rest on top of your thighs. She gave them a squeeze and you found yourself involuntarily grinding your pelvis into her lap, her touch sending your body into overdrive.
“Oh, fuck,” you whispered, Miranda swallowing your words as your bodies pressed against each other, a steady and suffocating heat building between the two of you.
The constable’s hands slipped under your ass and she turned you onto your back - breaking the kiss only briefly to position herself above you. One of her knees came to rest between your legs and she pushed it against your core, drawing a groan from your throat. The pressure was delicious against your aching sex and you bucked your hips to get some much-needed relief.
Miranda’s lips left your own and began to trail down your chin, your throat, your chest, stopping at the top button of your shirt - hot, wet, needy. She lifted her head and you looked down to meet her gaze - her pupils were blown wide with lust, her cheeks gorgeously flushed, her hair tousled.
“We- fuck,” you started breathily, finding it almost impossible to think as Miranda’s knee pressed against your clit. “We should slow down.”
Miranda nodded, her eyes widening and her cheeks bright red as she reluctantly pulled her leg away from your cunt. You bit down on your lower lip to stop a whine from slipping out at the loss of friction.
The constable settled half on top of you, leaning against the back of the couch and propping her head up on her arm. She closed her eyes as she tried to steady her heavy, ragged breathing. “Right. Sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry,” you whispered, your voice hoarse with want. “I just don’t want to take advantage of you.”
Miranda’s eyes snapped open and she met your gaze, a slow, easy grin spreading across her face. “You’re not. I want this.”
“I don’t think I just want this,” you mumbled, closing your eyes and swallowing hard. “I want you.”
“I want you, too.”
You opened your eyes and met Miranda’s bright, eager gaze, searching her face for any hint of doubt or hesitation. “Are you sure?”
Miranda nodded and you lunged forward, your lips crashing into hers as your hand snaked its way around the back of her head, holding her in place. Your fingers threaded through her hair - it felt like silk under your skin.
Your other hand settled on her waist, tugging her on top of you - her body weight pressed you down into the couch and you groaned at the feeling. You needed more, you wanted more, so your hands found the hem of Miranda’s t-shirt and you slipped underneath it. Her bare skin was impossibly smooth, and you felt electricity coursing through your body at the feeling of her soft hips in your hands. Your hands found their way up her back and you raked your nails over the expanse of it, pleased with the hungry growl that escaped Miranda’s lips.
Finding the clasp of her bra, you unclipped it, slipping a hand around to the front of her torso and under the loose fabric to palm her breast. She grasped desperately at your waist as your warm palm rubbed over her nipple, rolling it into a hard peak. Miranda let out a breathy sigh and sat up, straddling your waist and pulling her shirt off. Her bra followed, and both were discarded on the floor behind the couch.
You felt the air leave your lungs as you stared up at Miranda - your mouth going dry. Her rosy nipples contrasted against her pale skin, her abdomen rippled with every heaving breath that she took. You couldn’t help but reach out and touch her, caressing her hips, her stomach, her breasts - flicking your thumbs over her pert nipples and watching them harden further.
Sitting up, you hungrily took one of the rosy buds into your mouth, sucking greedily and soothing your tongue over it as you felt Miranda’s hands thread through your hair. You repeated the process on her other nipple, thoroughly pleased with yourself when Miranda let out a soft, breathy moan - one that was so deliciously pornographic that you felt a wave of arousal course through you, your panties growing damp.
You released Miranda’s nipple, your hands drifting down to the buckle of her belt and making quick work of undoing it. Miranda took the hint, removing her pants in a hurry and then focusing her attention on your own clothes. Your own shirt was unbuttoned and tossed aside in an instant, your pants tugged down your legs and dropped onto the floor with the rest of the clothing.
Miranda’s bare skin was hot against your own and you pulled her back down on top of you, your pussy throbbing as her nipples brushed against yours. You kissed her with hunger and passion, your left hand palming her ass as your right hand found its way between your bodies to cup her pussy over her underwear.
The constable groaned, immediately grinding against your hand - you noticed that she’d soaked through the thin cotton of her underwear. You pulled the fabric aside and curled your fingers against the length of her slit, letting out a gasp as you felt her dripping for you.
“I need you,” she whined, shuddering as your fingers explored her folds - letting out a strangled whimper when you smeared her wetness over her clit and began to draw lazy circles over the bundle of nerves.
Miranda turned out to be as loud as she was sensitive - you found it easy to bring her to the edge, time and time again, your fingers applying a gentle pressure to her clit and pumping easily in and out of her, her slick walls drawing your digits in and clenching tightly around them. Her unabashed moans filled the air, echoing off the walls of the living room and having you wondering - only briefly, though - how thick those walls were.
After her fifth orgasm, when the stimulation finally became too much for her, Miranda whimpered and shifted her pelvis away from you. Taking the hint, you pulled your hand out of her underwear, your fingers shining with her arousal. You lifted them to Miranda’s face, smirking when she immediately opened her mouth and allowed you to place your fingers on her tongue. She sucked them clean, her flushed cheeks hollowing out, her kiss-swollen lips wrapped around your knuckles.
You leaned forward to kiss her as she released your fingers, eager to taste the remnants of her orgasm on her tongue. The taste was heavenly - you were almost sorry that Miranda was so overstimulated - you’d have given everything to go down on her.
She pulled back from the kiss, her hot, heavy breath ghosting over your face as she rested her forehead against your own, trying to steady her breathing. A bead of sweat had collected on her forehead and you reached up to wipe it away, tucking a strand of mussed hair behind her ear. It was too short, of course, and immediately fell back into her face - it made you smile, and Miranda smiled - no, beamed - back, her eyes sparkling.
“I hope that wasn’t too much,” you whispered into the silence - Miranda blushed and shook her head no. Her fingers danced along the waistband of your underwear, lightly at first as she leaned in for a languid kiss. Then her fingers curled under the waistband and began tugging, her lips trailing down your jaw, your throat, your sternum, your stomach - soft, warm, wet, hungry. She tugged your underwear down your legs, her lips immediately replacing the fabric as she pressed kisses to your mound, to your inner thighs - finally disappearing between your legs.
You felt her tongue lap hungrily at your folds, little noises of pleasure coming from between your thighs and vibrating against your cunt. It was both adorable and extremely hot at the same time, how eagerly Miranda ate you out - sloppy, yet determined (and very skilled, you noted mentally, letting out a filthy groan as her lips latched onto your clit, her tongue flicking at the sensitive little bundle).
By the time Miranda was finished with you, your thighs were trembling and your breathing was ragged. The constable pressed one final kiss to your clit, before sitting up and grinning goofily down at you. Her chin was coated in your slick and her cheeks were flushed, and you couldn’t help but loop an arm around her neck and pull her close, licking your own arousal off her face before meeting her lips in a slow, sensual kiss.
After what felt like hours holding each other, kissing and regaining your breaths, you felt your eyes begin to grow heavy and you sighed.
“I should probably get going,” you murmured, your voice slightly hoarse.
“Yeah - of course.” Miranda blushed as she pushed herself off you. “Can you just wait here?”
You nodded, furrowing your brows as the constable stood and walked out of the room. You heard the tap running, then she came back with a wet washcloth.
“Is it okay if I…” Her eyes darted down between your legs as she took a seat next to you.
It was your turn to blush. “Yeah, that’s okay. Thanks.”
Miranda cleaned you up with great care, being extra gentle as she soothed the washcloth over your clit. When she was done, you got dressed in silence, then allowed Miranda to walk you to the door. She paused with her hand on the doorknob.
“Would you want to…” she trailed off, not quite able to meet your gaze.
“Are you busy Saturday? Would you like to go on a date with me?” You couldn’t help but smile as Miranda’s eyes widened and she began to nod, a look of relief washing over her face as her lips curled upwards.
“Yeah - I’m not busy, I would love to.”
“Good.” You smirked, leaning in to press your lips to Miranda’s - her breath hitched in her chest. “I’ll see you at work tomorrow.”
You turned to leave, exiting the apartment and walking down the hall. Turning around to wave goodbye, you could see Miranda smiling as her head poked out from behind the door.
That night, you fell asleep with a soft smile on your face and a warmth in your belly - already mentally planning your date.
Hellooo
Uh yeah hi! This is paaart siiiix of the Strangler fig au i believe! Yeah. Enjoy!
The crew is falling apart. You don't need to be intelligent to see it.
And no. Elpenor does not know what in the name of Hades is going on with Polites and Odysseus, but he doesn't like it. And then the whole thing with the bag happened and then Posidon murdered like. Almost all of their crew!
By the Gods, it's not fair!
Maybe Elpenor is a bit drunk. Maybe he is tired, maybe it's the worry. Maybe Odysseus shouldn't have sent him to lead the scouting party around this too-perfect island.
Like really? If Odysseus has resorted to trusting Elpenor- of all people- the most to lead a scouting mission that could decide if the rest of them go to the Underworld or not, then wow, he must really be desperate.
And it's not like Elpenor is being mean about the captain, he's just saying it how it is. He has always done that, he doesn't understand why everyone else has to wrap their words in layers upon layers and skip around the actual meaning as if it's a dance or a song or a game.
And Odysseus is struggling. That's what he sees. They all saw how their captain reacted when Eurylochus died, how he reacted when Posidon did whatever he did to Polites. They still don't know what happened there. And with Eurylochus gone and Polites unconscious and Odysseus falling asleep on his feet and Perimedes left trying to make sure everyone is okay and alive, well that leaves Elpenor.
That leaves Elpenor. To scout the island. Gods, if anything goes wrong-
"Come inside!"
He blinks and looks up at the sweet voice, and oh. Elpenor probably should have been paying more attention. The rest of his men are already walking towards the strange, tall lady.
She smiles a sickening sweet smile and beckons them closer to the palace, "Welcome to the best part of your lives!"
She is odd. To say the least. Taller than any of the men on the crew, long hair tied back in a messy yet somehow charming braid that's a brownish colour with streaks of shining gold. A crown on her brow and incredibly unnatural pink flowers in her hair. Yellow hawk eyes staring into his soul.
The other men in Elpenor's crew seem enchanted by her. Elpenor doesn't get it. Maybe that's because he's got a perfectly good Perimedes back at camp.
"Go ahead and rest wherever you like!" She walks through the huge arched entranceway, the men following behind her like a flock of sheep, "I've got you, don't worry, Circe's got you now!"
Elpenor doesn't want to go in there. He does though, and stands in the entrance of the huge hall Circe has led the men into, watching carefully.
"Take a seat." Circe smiles that smile that Elpenor is swiftly coming to hate again, and nymphs- actual nymphs, how cool is that?- walk into the hall, each carrying different plates of food, "Let me bring you all something to eat, I bet you're tired from the years spent on your feet. I've got you, don't worry, Circe's got you now!"
Oh. Maybe she is nice then. Not that Elpenor can think of any immortals that are nice, and she clearly is one. Immortal, that is. But, well, first time for everything! That's what Polites says. Though she does keep speaking in third person. Maybe that's just a divine thing, Elpenor wouldn't know.
He smiles and starts to walk away, Odysseus would appreciate him finding a nice Goddess who wants to help them right? Well, she found them, but the captain doesn't need to know that.
Elpenor pauses, pulled out of his thoughts by a strange noise that sounds half person half pig. He stares into the hall for a moment.
And then he runs.
"Captain!"
Odysseus and Perimedes both look up, along with most of the crew, when Elpenor comes running into camp, clearly terrafied.
"Elpenor, back so soon?" Odysseus stands up and walks over to the panicked man, swiftly checking him over for injuries- of which there seems to be none, other than scratches from running through the forest, "Where's the rest of your crew? What happened?"
He watches Elpenor lean against Perimedes when the other man walks over, and Odysseus clenches his fists at his sides, he can see how scared the poor man is, but by the Gods, he needs to know what the threat is.
Elpenor does compose himself surprisingly quickly though, "Sir, since we left home, we've faced a variety of foes from a wide range of places; Gods, monsters, you know the roster, hostile creatures that we could resist." He pauses slightly, "But this was a hell of a twist, 'cause we are weak to a power like this."
Odysseus stares at him, "What was it?
"A woman." Elpenor holds Odysseus' unbelieving gaze.
"What?" Odysseus snaps.
"We came across her palace." Elpenor shrugs. He's still shaking, "She had us in just two words and she seemed to show no malice, to follow her was our choice."
"And?"
"Nothing could prepare us for the power that awaited inside." Elpenor says, "She offered us food, who were we to say no? Only I stayed outside, intending to fetch the rest of us so we could share this feast, but the rest went in."
Odysseus grabs his shoulders, "What happened?"
Elpenor stares at him, "I- inside the meal, she had cast a spell. She changed them, they transformed and it wasn't quick. She turned our friends from men to pigs."
Odysseus curses, turning away from Elpenor and Perimedes. Everybody else in the camp are watching them, "I have to go save them." He decides.
"Captain, no you don't." Odysseus spins around to stare at Perimedes, opening his mouth to yell at the man, but he speaks first, "Look at all we've lost and all we've learned, every single cost is so much more than what we've earned. You have to think about the men you have left before there's none."
"What?" Odysseus snarls, "How dare you-"
Perimedes doesn't back down, "Captain, you are not well. I do not know what has changed, but you have not been well since the war, and you don't seem to care that you are hurting the people around you because of this. She's a clever witch, and she's hard to slay. It'll be a game of wits, but you don't have to play, not if there is a chance everyone else gets killed in this."
"Me? Not well?" Odysseus laughs that half crazy laugh he does, "Hurting people? I think you've finally got your facts mixed up, Peri'. It's a very bold claim coming from the likes of you after all."
"Hey!" Elpenor snaps, having mostly recovered from his run in with Circe.
"Friends! Calm down. Please." The three of them all turn when Polites walks towards them. He looks slightly unsteady, but he's up on his feet, so it's something, "Lower your voices, we have an audience. And i could hear you three shouting from the boats."
Elpenor smiles at him, "You're okay."
Polites grins back, "Im alive. And Perimedes, you're not gonna persuade Odysseus to not try to get those men back, so i'm gonna go with him to make sure he's okay."
Odysseus had been fully prepared to run off into the forest and find this witch alone, but company is always good. And after Eurylochus-
Well he can't let anything happen to Polites, and something already has, so he's just not gonna let him out of his sight. Polites volunteering to come with him is just win win for everyone. Except Elpenor and Perimedes, but that sounds like a them problem.
Perimedes frowns at him, "But-"
"Of course, I'd like to leave now, of course I'd like to run." Polites glances at Odysseus for a moment before turning back to Perimedes, Odysseus wonders what he's thinking, "But I can hardly sleep now knowing everything we've done, and there's no length I wouldn't go if it was you I had to save."
Odysseus laughs again, "Yeah, and I can only hope you'd do the same." He snaps sarcastically.
"I can hear her still, and her voice deceives." Elpenor protests, "What if she can't be killed? Will you choose to leave?"
"I don't know." Odysseus answers truthfully. He doesn't think his answer inspires much confidence, but he grins at Polites. Both of them already have weapons, and he can't think armour will do much against an immortal, "Lets go!"
Polites rolls his eyes, "Sure." He says slowly, but he is smiling.
They hear Perimedes mutter "Okay so the dude who hasn't slept properly in nine- ten days now, and the dude who just got attacked by the God of the Seas are gonna go fight this witch. Great." as they walk off and into the forest.
I love writing Elpenor, to me he is a whole lot more chill than everyone else. So.
Anyways yes. Uhhh yes.
My soulmate (01/02/2024)
it’s for @metalpipereal generally but i think nanami deserves another story too (too many for gojo grrr) so here it is yayayayayay
Tumblr media
I could never resist to ask “Are you my soulmate?” to every single person I meet.
Everyone has a soulmate right? I’m not quite sure about that, despite all the stories I have read about that topic, I have never ever met mine. What if I don’t have a soulmate? One that’s supposed to love me and cherish me and I’d do the same for them. And what do they mean ‘you’ll know when you see them’, I have lived for 20 long years and I still don’t feel that ‘it’s them’ feeling.
My significant other, where are you?
The scent of fresh baked bread is my favourite, it makes me think about how romantic it must be when you share your morning coffee with your partner. Just the thought of it makes my day. I munch on the piece of toast as I go make my morning coffee with the machine. I close my eyes as I fill my lungs with the scent of coffee, then opening them feeling energised like the caffeine had already taken effect.
As I walked out of the kitchen, ready to start my day. I turned on the television to catch up on the latest news, only to see that there had been a huge car accident right in front of my college.
“Really?” I cursed under my breath, “On the day that I’m finally not tired?”
I had to resist the urge to throw a tantrum like a 5 year old would, throwing hands at the cushions on the couch and screaming out loud. Wanting to go to my mother to complain about how much this was annoying me, and just cry in her arms as she whispers soothing words into my ear. Oh, how I wish my soulmate would do that to me, and just hold me in their arms as I cry my heart out.
Now what do I do with my brain fired up and my whole day stuck in the house. Work on my essay that’s due two months later? No way. Go downstairs to buy some more groceries? I don’t want to anymore. I lie down on the couch, staring blankly at the ceiling as I can’t fall asleep anymore. I sit up suddenly, as if remembering an important thing that I haven’t done, then looked at the time. 9AM, I forgot to buy bread! How could I possibly forget that. I quickly fo get changed to quickly go down to the bakery to buy my daily doze of freshly baked bread.
As I rush out of my apartment, grabbing my wallet and my phone only, forgetting everything else but the sole goal of buying the bread I want. I waited impatiently for the elevator, I stood nervously, afraid that another person would buy the bread that I wanted. When the elevator finally arrived my floor, I got in to see a man. One that is tall and blond and looked a little older. I had to admit that my heart fluttered a bit when I saw him, because oh my god, was he divine. But I had no time for men right now, I just need my bread.
The button to the ground floor had already been pressed, by him I assume. And he looked at me at the corner of his eye, his brown eyes alluring I have to say. As the elevator reaches down to the ground floor, I started running full speed to the bakery to get my bread. I’m so getting that piece of bread. Before I knew it, the man in the elevator with me started running too, and he was catching up to me. ‘Oh no’, I thought. So I ran faster and faster until I finally reached the bakery. I was so out of breath as I grabbed the last bag of bread. But there was just another hand grabbing the bag.
“Uh, excuse me, but I was going to buy this first?” I say, turning around to see the blond man towering over me.
“You are? My bad.” He let go of the bag and walked over to another corner of the shop. Well, he’s not out of breath and he’s a gentleman. Wow. Now that he had let me have the bag, I felt a bit bad about telling him off, as he was so kind to me and didn’t even argue at all. So I held the bag and walked over to him.
“Hey, do you want to share?” I asked him, and he turned from the pineapple buns to look at me, “I mean we live in the same building so we can just split it in half? I’ll pay.”
“And you’d think I’d let you pay, huh? Yeah we can split, but a pretty lady like you should let the gentleman pay for you.” He grabs the bag of bread and quickly pays for it, I was so shocked and confused, but I guess it was just a kind gesture so I didn’t think too much about it.
“Now let’s go.” He hands me half a pack, I guess he had the cashier split it into two bags.
“Thank you.” I say, trying to sound more polite and elegant. “So, see you around?”
A moment of silence passed, and the two of us stand in front of the bakery, both not talking. Then he breaks the silence.
“You mean you aren’t planning to eat it together?”
“I mean…” I look them and fiddle with my fingers, “If it’s alright with you.”
“Of course it is, what do you mean?” He say, a bit louder honestly. He immediately bowed down though, apologising for raising his voice. “I’m sorry for yelling at you.”
“What?” I stand there confused, “No you did not? Stop please. Let’s just go eat the bread, yeah?”
“Okay.” He stood up and held my hand, “Let’s go over there then.”
We walked over to the bench, his hand felt warm against mine. I couldn’t help but blush at the contact as I deliberately followed him. Now that I’m just walking behind him, I can feel his strong presence around me. The butterflies in my stomach churning, and I have never felt something like that. It felt as if we held hands any longer my heart might burst. Oh, is that how people crush on people? It’s not love, right? Right?
He sat down on the bench and asked me to do the same, “Please sit down.” He’s such a gentleman.
I sat down next to him, the space between us not more than the length of my palms. Don’t get me wrong, I love how close we are and how we looked just like a ‘couple in love’.
“Should we eat?” I ask him, breaking the awkward silence. He just nods in reply as he hands me his bottle of hand sanitiser. I thank him and sanitise my hands, “Thanks.” Then I open my bag of bread and start munching on a piece. I look over at him and he was doing the same thing.
“Hey,” He starts, “Do you know me?”
“You’re my upstairs neighbour yeah?”
“Actually we are in the same econ class in college.”
“Really? How come I never noticed?” I take another bite out of my bread.
“Probably because I sit at the back?”
“You do?” I gasp, “Wait so you know how useless the professor is too?”
“Yeah.” He chuckled. Oh, he finally smiled. His smile looks so precious, like the first ray of light shining out of the horizon in the morning. I felt as if an eclipse was occurring as we lock eyes with each other. The feeling so romantic and fresh just like the morning breeze, and that I didn’t want it to end. This moment, this instant was so cinematic I wanted to put it into a movie. So when he leaned in to brush away the bread crumbs near my lips, my heart almost jumped out of my chest. But it’s not that I mind giving my heart to him, he seems like a man to guard it with his life. A gentleman. One that I longed for. Is this the ‘it’s him’ feeling?
“You had some crumbs on your face. I’m sorry if I was too close…” He trailed off, losing his smile and he started frowning again. Him frowning makes him age a lot faster, he looked at least ten years older when he does that.
“Oh no, it’s alright. Thank you for helping me wipe it off though.” I chuckle, and he smiled again. Now that’s the young man look.
He looked at his watch and checked the time, it was ten already. “It’s time for me to get to my part time job. See you around, gorgeous.”
I stared at him blankly, still in shock how fast time had passed while we were together I didn’t even notice the pet name he gave me. As he walked away from where we were sitting, I yelled to him, “Wait, what’s your name?”
He stopped in his tracks, and turned around to look at me. The wind blowing his half gelled up hair into the perfect places, it seemed like a scene in a movie where the protagonists kiss under the cherry blossoms in spring. His gaze was soft too, like he was looking at me as if I was a fragile vase that would break at any harsh contact. Then he came closer to me again, leaning towards my ear, whispering, “It’s Kento, Nanami Kento. See you later, love.”
He simply sprinted away after this interaction. I just stood there like an awkward little child before the redness coloured my cheeks, leaving me in a blushing mess, and all that I could think about was him and his smile.
“Kento,” I whispered. “It’s such a nice name…”
He’s the guy, he’s my soulmate. I have found him.
