After years of trying to write this into a fic, I decided to just be unconventional and do it like this for the Summer SPOPtacular prompt: Roasting Marshmallows

Bow's marshmallow is perfectly toasted because he patiently rotated it for a nice even browning 

Catra's is on fire on purpose because she loves the instant gratification and contrast of char and sweet

Adora's is on fire accidentally because she tried to prove that she could make a perfectly toasted one much faster and efficiently than Bow could and tragedy ensued 

Glimmer's marshmallow no longer resembles a marshmallow or even food because she tried to use magic out of impatient competitive spite and it went horribly wrong 

Then I got bored of drawing hands but here are some more as supplied by the local children of my acquaintance... 

Mermista is roasting de-hydrated cereal marshmallows she has re-hydrated just to flex

Sea Hawk is at the hospital because he set his marshmallow on fire and then ate it that way 

Entrapta is just eating handfuls of mini marshmallows and encouraging the others to experiment so she can note the results (see: Sea Hawk)

Hordak isn't interested in eating marshmallows, but is taking particular joy in finding optimal sticks for the others to use 

Perfuma is using the fire to make everyone a soothing pot of althaea officinalis (Marshmallow) Root Tea because she doesn't approve of the corn syrup in artificial marshmallows

Scorpia is happily scarfing down the homemade, corn syrup free marshmallows Perfuma made that are suspiciously pre-burnt (but she doesn't mind)

Forsta tried freezing her marshmallows and nearly cracked a tooth when she bit into one

Lonnie keeps trying to get the perfect roast and getting impatient and just eating them raw

Kyle's marshmallow ended up in the coals 

Rogelio's marshmallow is a hot dog 

Huntara's marshmallow is a horrifying giant bug thing she killed that has Micah salivating with envy 

Wrong Hordak is roasting Peeps (no one knows where he even got them from)

Hi! Do you think Hordak is autistic? I've seen people talking about it, but I haven't found any symptoms of ASD in Hordak.

I think so!

Maybe it's the way he "grew up" or was conditioned, but he acts like he's masking. I think Entrapta and Hordak are two opposite spectrums of autism. One masking, one not.

For example:

While Entrapta is openly expressive of her interests and emotions

Hordak is more reserved and closed off

Before he meets Entrapta, he's reserved, he's angry, he never shows any kind of vulnerability and isolates himself in his sanctum.

Then he meets Entrapta and he slowly starts to unmask. He opens up more.

He realizes that Entrapta is a lot like him in a lot of ways

He's socially awkward and doesn't really understand what to say most of the time, especially to Entrapta.

He opens up to her more and shares his vulnerability with her, tells her of his past and eventually loves being lab partners with him, to the point where he wants the portal project to last longer so he can spend more time with her.

So when he's told by Catra that Entrapta betrayed him, he breaks, he goes back to his self isolating ways, back to masking as much as he could so he could no longer feel the pain of being betrayed again.

But it does happen again, this time with Catra.

He grew to trust her, respect her, even seeing an equal ally in her

And then it all comes crashing down once Double Trouble reveals the truth.

He becomes angry, confused, completely losing it and chasing Catra down with his arm canon.

Then Horde Prime happens. He reads his memories and sees what went on with Entrapta. And he erases his memories of it.

Hordak's whole theme is to mask perfection because to him, he's not worthy of Prime's attention if he isn't seen as perfect. He masks himself so much that even the return of his memories after Catra says his name, he goes and gets in the pool, torturing himself so he'd forget again and again.

Then he finds the luvd crystal and this time, he doesn't reveal his memories to prime, but keeps it to himself. Then he meets Entrapta again and he curses to himself, thinking if she goes, that the memories and imperfections will go with her. And she reminds him.

“Remember! Your imperfections are beautiful!”

And this sparks something in him. The next time we see him, he is helping Prime as Entrapta is captured and he struggles with himself to do what he thinks is right. And finally....FINALLY he breaks the cycle and embraces his true self. Breaking the mask.

He IS Hordak! And he defies your will!!!

In my opinion, his theme is about breaking the mask you put on yourself as an autistic person, or at least something similar to that, because it's just so relatable. Breaking away from who you pretend to be and embrace the true you.

But that's just my idea of it, haha. It's alright if you don't see Hordak as Autistic. I'm just giving my own analysis on it.

This is an insane headcanon but.

Ra's was obviously one of those parents who didn't let his kid watch cartoons-- but he did let her watch Star Trek, because it's a show about a utopian, eco-friendly socialist society, of course he would; if she's gonna have any degenerate consumerist television at least let it be that.

Talia, being a teenage girl with no other media allowed in her life apart from training manuals and the like, fixates on the franchise for YEARS.

And that is the real reason she looks like this as a teenager in The Knight.

She cut her hair to look Vulcan and you cannot convince me otherwise.

you're a close friend of adora and obviously your friendship with her makes catra quite jealous

so jealous that she views you as her rivals or a threat when it comes to her own relationship with adora

catra tries to get between you and adora, in more than one way

she always clings to adora, trying to be by her side all the time, just so that you can't have time with her

and if you do approach her, she pulls adora away from you! 

aside from that, catra will negatively talk about you when adora is around, hoping to get adora to dislike you

though adora always scolds catra for her behavior and really wants the two of you to get along…

catra is very resistant to become your friend, but since adora wants you two to get along, she'll at least try it

the more time catra spends with you, the more she realizes that you're not as bad as she always thought, nor are you trying to take adora away from her

it's really hard for her to admit that she was wrong, but eventually you'll get a halfhearted apology from her, grumbling about how you're actually pretty okay…

Even though it's a pretty depressing thought, I think do prefer the headcanon of Scorpia being the last of her species to some extent. Picturing her just lurking alone in the newly refurbished Fright Zone after the final battle, waiting for the other Scorpions to come back, only to eventually realize she is the last one is so heartbreaking but also so fascinating.

Scorpia is such a sweetheart, and that definitely shows in how physically affectionate she is 

She loves scooping you up into great big hugs, though she's always very careful not to accidentally hurt you with her pinchers 

It can be difficult for her to restrain herself whenever she sees you as all she wants to do is pick you up and twirl you around, but she also knows she's a lot stronger than she looks, and you also might not be in the mood 

She's touchy, but respectful 

Always asks before hugging or kissing you, because she would never want you to feel pressured and/or uncomfortable 

Speaking of kisses, the ones she gives are the best! 

She's the kind of lover to pepper soft kisses all over your face when you're waking up, when you're sad, when you're happy, just about anytime really 

Scorpia would love to be able to properly hold your hand, but she sometimes worries she'll get too excited and accidentally pinch you 

As long as you reassure her that you love and trust her completely, she will always be ready and willing to hold your hand 

She's also quite strong (as I've said before) so she's the perfect person for giving piggybacks whenever you're tired or letting you sit on her shoulders just for fun

So I just started a rewatch of SPOP. Very first episode, Adora is introduced. Seemingly up early, training, getting pumped up, motivated. Then the announcement telling the squadrons to report for evaluation. Adora's not even the first there, it's Rogelio. Then Adora and the rest of the squad run up together. Sans Catra. It is insinuated that she is late. At the end of the evaluation, Adora even accuses Catra of not showing up until they all had done the hard work. Could be true, sure. I've always believed it. But when the evaluation starts, the cadets have barely run through it when we see Catra lurking up high. And for the first time I wondered, what if she wasn't late? What if she had already been there? What if she was the first to arrive and had been waiting inside the simulation/training room? I mean, yeah she could have been the last to arrive. She probably has the speed and stealth to sneak in and get up high unseen. But she was already there when Adora had cleared the path for herself and the other cadets to run through sooooo...she also could just as likely have always been there. The first to arrive, waiting for the others to catch up and not the other way around. Accused of being late and unmotivated, typical Catra according to Adora and SW. But like, what if that reputation, those accusations, were completely unfounded all along? Probably a stretch, but like, the extra drama that adds in the way Catra is mischaracterized in the Horde and in the show. I like
