It was her turn to watch over the young king in his latest, most rarest vacation, reincarnation at the finest.

Unfortunately, being alive is the cost she paid gratefully because the last reincarnation vacation his majesty had took was ended shortly due to the idiotic ghost guard who fell to watch him.

This time Fright Knight was smart enough to use the reincarnation trip easy enough, but being reborn in a woman body that was shocking similar to her own original body from back then was nostalgic in a tragic way.

Same two birthmarks under her right dark emerald eye and right side of her mouth. The chaotic scar covered her left arm, and long scar going through her right eyebrow across her pale emerald eye, ending at her cheekbone.

Her body was still strong and muscular in the sense of tallness, but unfortunately she can still feel the softness that she needed to train more as she could still hold the soulshredder that seemed to had grow larger in size for her. (I think because your ghost form was much taller than you think?)

Clothes are a bit smaller as she gotten older and much taller then most ladies and men, then what she used to but getting specially tailored clothes to match her size was a godsend.

She had been alive for twenty-four year now, working as a bounty huntress that these small men whisper of The Mistress of Fear at night, while taking care of the young king in the daytime who was born to shameful parents that dare abandoned him in a wasteful bin.

Thankfully She can trace where his newest body was at the right time, not mere a couple minutes before the disposal men come with their raging machine on wheels.

Five years in Gotham, she kept a downlow considering there is a liminal in a bat suit patrolling around. Unfortunately that didn't last with a particular scarecrow.

Said scarecrow who was in sack mask looking at her with his face redder than a tomato considering she was sitting on him in her living room.

Jonathan Crane, supposed bringer of Fear as the Scarecrow.

Lilith considered Crane annoying at the beginning the first three dozen times they has met up with him trying to spray her with 'Fear Toxin and Gas' considering how he believe he was better at her with bringing Fear to other.

That declaration made her laugh hard that first meeting if Crane think he could best her, with how short and scrawny he was compared to her majestic tall and strong form, even her young King wasn't that scrawny when he was a ghostling.

This supposed 'Fear Toxin' was nothing to her, for she was The Mistress of Fear, formerly known as The Fright Knight in the infinite realm.

Then came the odd courting such a present with a doll stuffed filled with exploding Fear toxic, chocolate with toxic vial filled with the hazelnut spreading inside added a nice flavor, the dance between the two during a gold spar giving her a good nick on her shoulder was a nice touch, switching the candle in her crafted pumpkin with a ticking bomb full of Fear gas was a lovely gesture for her halloween party, and the best was a beautiful Sword sheath filled with concreated Fear toxic that melt even the hardest metal, but the soulshredder seem to love the spa treatment in it. Lilith swear the soulshredder was spoiled rotten by that sword sheath.

The little sneaky seeking short man somewhat crawled into her anicent void of a broken heart, and took over. She enjoyed their weekly meeting between them now that was until two weeks ago.

Jonathan can deny and struggle all he wanted after the last discussion and spar two weeks ago when she told him that she accepted his courting, which led to him avoiding her like a ghost, ha.

Jonathan think he could avoid her after taking her heart with him was rather dull of him considering she knew all his secrets hideouts by now with the amount of time he had kidnapped her in the previous years.

He should be honored to gain the hand in marriage of Mistress of Fear after all the beautiful lavishly courting gifts he sented her the past 2 years. Badly lying and saying they were to sabotage her was laughable. He had seduced her mind, and then she seduced him the same way all the way into marriage.

There is no escaping The Mistress of Fear, Jonathan. You dug into this haunted house of a heart, and once you're in, there is no escape.

One of the things I realized when I watched Fury Road directly after Furiosa:

Furiosa doesn't treat Max like she treated Jack. She treats Max like Jack treated her.

There are so many parallels - the way they meet, their conflict with each other that quickly turns to partnership, their journey to The Green Place (and how it fails)...

But where before it was Jack reaching out to her, now it's Furiosa who is asking Max his name, teaching him the kill sequence for the rig, trusting him to have her back in a fight, giving him everything he needs to leave (even when she wants him to stay).

Furiosa doesn't see Jack in Max, she sees herself. Everything from the muzzle to the nightmares to the fact that he barely speaks is a direct parallel to what she was like when she met Jack, and Furiosa knows it. And so as someone reached out to her, she reaches out to him, this feral, half-mad Wastelander. She reaches out and offers him hope, just like Jack did to her when he came back for her on the Fury Road.

And together, they find some kind of redemption

omg the ‘is arya pretty or not’ discourse is genuinely insane.

arya is young. she hasn’t even fully matured or grown into her features, and yet she is still called pretty by multiple outsiders.

"I'm sorry, my lady." Arya suddenly felt bad for her, and ashamed. "I'm sorry I tore the acorn dress too. It was pretty." "Yes, child. And so are you. Be brave." (ASOS, Arya IV)

if you trust the opinion of arya’s bullies over lady smallwood’s, that says more about your bias than anything else.

while i understand that people struggle to place unconventional beauty in their worldview, which often leads to the fandom being unkind to characters with the stark look—even if these characters are called ‘pretty’ or ‘beautiful’—but istg this fandom seems to be regressing into even more conservative takes on the topic, so i need to rant about it:

a recurring theme in arya’s story is ‘beauty,’ and it is not wrong to want to engage meaningfully with such an important theme that is part of arya’s wider struggle with identity, gender, and conformity. treating people who care about this topic as ‘odd’ is nonsensical and oftentimes more than a little hypocritical.

westeros has a rigid beauty standard, and young girls—especially noble girls—are expected to conform to it. arya, however, defies this expectation.

the narrative’s engagement with the theme of beauty in arya’s story is not about her actually being ugly and coming to terms with it—it’s about challenging rigid beauty norms and showing that she doesn’t have to fit a narrow standard to be seen as beautiful and worthy by others, because she already is and characters already acknowledge that she is both.

and honestly, this reminds me of the real world beauty discourse. can an unconventional nose be beautiful? what about thin lips? big lips? can people with monolids be considered pretty?

the point is that limiting beauty to specific traits is regressive, and the way people talk about arya shows just how deeply ingrained those biases are. a long face doesn’t make arya ugly, and neither does having darker coloring!

look at lyanna stark—she is called a wild beauty and not just a beauty because her features were clearly unconventional, but she was still seen as beautiful. the same likely applies to arya who is said to look like her. to repeat myself: arya’s features don’t fit the standard, but that doesn’t mean she’s ugly.

we don’t need another female character whose story explores beauty by emphasizing that she isn’t pretty and has features considered universally unattractive. brienne already fills that role. having arya go through the same journey would be redundant and directly contradicts what has already been established in the narrative.

ask yourself what’s more interesting:

• having another character whose features are ‘ugly’ and whose bullies were right?

• or a nuanced take on beauty, where a girl learns to love and accept her unconventional features and finds them beautiful like others already do, which reminds readers that beauty isn’t about conformity?

Smitten rambles [again]

Thinking of the lead up to HEA again, you tell the princess you want to stay in the cabin to compromise a middle ground, the princess uncomfortably tells you that thats fine because it is what you want and smitten starts freaking out because it cant be that the princess is unhappy about staying with them, can it?, the thing im most interested by is the fact that he inmediatly starts finding a culprit about this, it has to be someone else it has to be the cabin itself and he tries to find solutions of how to remedy that, but when this happen what i genuinely thought would happen was smitten was going to blame himself about it but instead he tries to find any other reason than himself to blame, because his fantasy of the knight in shining armor rescuing the princess cant be the problem, right?, this is such insane rambles by now but I would like to think that smitten thought that he can't be the problem after all he only wants to make her happy but if the problems is him then what can he do, if the princess wants something from him that he can't give then what is he supossed to do, no he has to show her what he is, maybe if he showed her his feelings, how much he loves her, how he truly feels about her, maybe she will realize that he can be enough for her the way he is now and that she can be happy with him

Now im rambling into probably headcanon territory but I truly don't think smitten (and honestly the other voices as well but this a smitten ramble) doesn't know how to change himself or atleast doesn't even want to think about it, since theyre shards of TLQ theyre also stagnant like him, a facet of his self but as we can see with other voices (for example broken on apo with paranoid and hero) they can manage to change their view or atleast broaden their perspective about things, but smitten seems fixated on the fact that he can't be the problem if the princess is unhappy because he doesn't know what do in that scenario, he has to show her his feelings, the contents of his heart so that she will realize that she was wrong, that there is nothing wrong with him and she can make her happy still, this also comes with how little smitten thinks of himself, he has no self preservation when it comes to the princess and would do anything for her even if its for his own detriment but if it makes her happy then hes happy.

How do you think Creature proposed? I know we see part of it in the film but i'm sitting her kicking my feet thinking about them running back to the room and Lisa is ready to go, and Creature suddenly stops and she's confused and asks him what's wrong. Is the stitching bad? Does he need another round in the tanning bed? Did he change his mind?

And he just stands there staring at her trying to think of how to convey that he loves her so much and no matter what happens to them, they will not share the same fate of going to the grave unmarried. and in the middle of Lisa trying to decipher all of this he just grabs her bag of peach rings and gets on one knee.

OK @taylortruther reblogging her post made me go back and watch the whole BBC Live Lounge performance and her introduction to Can't Stop Loving You is SO revealing in retrospect regarding so many of the themes we've been talking about lately in her later albums.

"The type of love that this song sings about is unconditional love. People say that term all the time and they kinda think that they know what unconditional love is, but I think true unconditional love is, like, do you love someone so much that you would even love them if they didn't love you anymore? That is unconditional love."

Um, "hoax" has entered the chat. 😳

I feel like that goes a long way to explaining why she may have believed "hoax" was romantic, and why "grey skies everyday, would you still stay" was the ultimate expression of love. "Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in" makes a lot more sense in this context, holding onto someone who's drifting away or showing that they may not love you in the way you need or in the way you'd once been. It's kind of heartbreaking because she's so earnest and so emphatic about it, but it's actually so sad in the context of ~everything~.

Help me hold onto you. That's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend. And I can't talk to you when you're like this, staring out the window like I'm not your favorite town. Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in. Don't want know other shade of blue but you. I'll be getting over you my whole life. Like waiting for a bus that never shows you just start walkin' on. Pulled him in tighter each time he was drifting away. I left all I knew, you left me at the house by the Heath.

(My personal opinion is that unconditional love isn't loving someone even if they leave you; it's loving someone for who they are, including their challenges, and not seeing it as a transaction but an action. ANYWAY. Semantics I guess. I find the way she explains it really devastating tbh.)
