i think ocelot and quiet should be friends. i think he genuinely respects & admires her - hands her the gun at the helicopter, gives her the chance to show her stuff with full trust she's not going to attack them, has the line about how they're both in love with the legend - i think that's nice.
#ignore me#i like to imagine his attempts to befriend her are like holding out yr hand to a stray cat#going pspspspspsps im nice i prommy im nice#she keeps her distance and is wary bc she does that to everyone. but she does recognize the respect and she appreciates the gestures.#doesn't get as comfortable with him as she does with venom but eventually gets to a Chill Point#barely related but ocelot sometimes gives me the vibes of a youngest male sibling with like three older sisters#who just always tagged along and became One Of The Girls. if that makes literally any sense. to anyone

Hello yes. Your soulmates name is literally on your body but with the ninja dads: we are go 2:27 AM · Jan 6, 2018
Kohari is like "oh my" bc she knows the brat, while her husband is like "oh geeze" bc that brat has attitude and honestly, isn't someone he wants his precious baby interacting with
Is Sakumo alive to bare witness to the name on his son's skin? If timed correctly, probably. He'd know who it was and be happy ab it bc they're fantastic ppl
But if not, Kakashi was probably very bitter ab it. "Dad u asshole u never even got to see my soul mate" but then he quickly "got over it"
Now here's the thing Iruka has probably heard all about his soul mate his whole life. He's always hearing shit ab how cool and strong Kakashi Hatake is.
He attempted to introduce himself to the guy once but was brushed aside like he didn't matter So since Kakashi hasn't gone out of his way to meet him - they're in a very small community, everyone knows everyone, Iruka is salty af and kinda pissed
So! Iruka has decided he doesn't want a soul mate if it means being matched with this asshole.
Kakashi just kinda ended up thinking he wasn't worth a soul mate bc if all the death he's faced, plus he assumes "Iruka Umino" doesn't live in the village - he's long forgotten Kohari's surname
So it's another couple years till Kakashi clues in that Iruka Umino has been here the whole time. Are they on the same team? Does Hiruzen mention it in passing? Doesn't matter how Kakashi learns the facts of this life, just that he does
Minor break down. Gai suggests he just goes for it. Tenzou is like "sempai you've already denied him before, how else has he ignored you for this long? You're famous." "Tenzou pls."
So they figure at some point in the past, Kakashi was rude to Iruka. Why else wouldn't they be married by now?? ? They do the magic ninja equivalent of Facebook creeping and determine 1 fact: Iruka is too good for Kakashi Kakashi dies inside
So Kakashi keeps his distance until he thinks he could somehow remedy his soul mate business. Plus he's still kinda wary ab it, death fucks you up
So Kakashi watches as Iruka positively interacts with Naruto - and at first it's just buckets of salt into his wounds, but he decides it's better this way bc no way could 16 year old him raise a child and Iruka is wonderful
The Mizuki bs happens and he's like, not in town, and arrives to news that Naruto passed his genin exam and Iruka's in the hospital bc he was protecting Naruto
Kakashi frets over that for hours, he cleans his house twice, bathes the dogs and rereads his fave smut six times until Hiruzen summons him to tell him he's gonna be Naruto's jounin sensei
Iruka hates it bc Kakashi is rude. Naruto telling him all about his new teacher doesn't really change his opinion on the guy but he's less hostile towards the very thought
Kakashi hates it when Naruto talks ab Iruka. He loves it of course, but feels cheated. Plus he didn't care this long, why start now, not like Iruka will seek him out now
They meet for the first time in years at the ichiraku ramen stand. They use their full names when introducing each other. Iruka is calmly seething. Kakashi has his dumb smile on.
Wouldn't it be funny if Naruto took a peek at Iruka's soul mate mark? Hilarious, it would be. The sudden dawning at the ichiraku stand, as his cool teachers introduced themselves to each other
He'd scream and everyone would know. "You guys are soul mates!!!!" Sakura and Sasuke would call him rude Kakashi would have that fake smile "it's true" internally ready to flee
"Eeeeeeh? But why aren't you already together then if you know?" Says Naruto or Sakura. "Kakashi-san had decided he was t ready for a soul mate is what Iruka says
The kids grumble ab that bc SOUL MATES And Iruka looses his appetite and apologises he forgot something at the school and leaves Naruto blames Kakashi for that and Sasuke agrees, "you re a pretty bad soul mate, not trying to get to know the other half of your soul"

sorry this took so long 😭😭 i’ve been pondering this for like three days. had to consult the council (my irls). spoilers for gravity falls and minor mob psycho spoilers.
here’s what i have so far:
MABEL: everyone leaves the hang out w like 3 sweaters
• Mabel and Teru would be besties. they would trade fashion tips. mabel would admire how teru wants to be a better person, and she would encourage him to do his best! (side note: would mabel like the monkey clothing brand? i don’t think so).
•Mabel and Tome would be weird girl besties. When they first meet, Tome would be wary of Mabel bc she wouldn’t want to be judged but once she realizes Mabel is also a weird girl they’d have a fun time :)
• Mob with either: 1) love mabel bc she reminds him of tome. he would probably admire how she is so confidently herself or 2) get easily overwhelmed by her. I think option 1 is better. mob needs someone who is so confident in themselves and who they are. Idk i want them to be friends
• Dimple would be Annoying by her at first (loud, bright), but they’d vibe eventually. It’s be like Dimple and Tome from the reigen spinoff
• Mabel would LOVE shou’s hamster, and shou would love waddles. they’d bond.
• ritsu would probs keep his distance from her. idk i think ritsu is a bit of a loner besides w shou, but he’d be fine hanging out w mabel in a group
•mabel in general might try to matchmake IF somehow she found out.
DIPPER
• Tome and Dipper would be friends. They’d for sure compare notes on their respective encounters with aliens. they’re both conspiracy brained
• Mob + Dipper would vibe. Dipper is similar to Ritsu so mob would probably admire Dipper’s intelligence. idk i want them to be friends so bad
• I cannot decide abt Dipper and Ritsu.
• Dipper would try to study Dimple/ask him too many Questions. Dimple would make fun of him
• Dipper is reigen-neutral. Reminds him of a nicer Stan. He’d join in on the hating though
• Dipper would think Shou is super cool. would probably want to impress him
• I don’t think Dipper and Teru would get along.
• dipper and serizawa would vibe.
STAN:
•he and reigen start off as rivals who passive aggressively comment on how fake the other is. eventually something happens and the kids are in danger so they both lock in and realize the good qualities in the other. they’re friends by the end of the story. they’d have the same banter that reigen and dimple do (thinly veiled insults). thank you to everyone who commented on my earlier post :)
•if grunkle stan could see dimple, then they would be best friends for sure. the scams they would pull would be legendary. i think if stan was hating on reigen, dimple would reveal himself and join in.
•ritsu would HATE stan. at least at the beginning.
•not sure abt the rest of the kids, tome for sure would see stan as a worse reigen. would roast stan
•stan would remind serizawa of reigen somewhat.
•mob wouldn’t hate stan but he could NOT be around him for that long bc stan is more gruff than charismatic (whereas reigen is more charismatic than gruff)
FORD:
•ford would try to study dimple and quickly get on his bad side. if he got possessed by dimple that would end sooo badly.
•ford would treat reigen like he does stan at the beginning of the second half of s2, like “here’s another conman who exploits the ppl around him and hasn’t done a good thing in his life.” eventually he’ll come to the same realization as stan but i don’t think they would be friends. begrudging acquaintances/allies maybe. unless ford notes how good reigen is with the kids, then they’d probably be neutral abt each other.
•the kids (esp tome) would probably badger him abt his time in the portal.
•ford and serizawa would probably vibe (both ostracized in youth, both trusted the wrong ppl).
•ford and ritsu would vibe. nerds.
BILL:
•i think it would be SO FUNNY if dimple ate bill. like how in seventh division when dimple eats all of the spirits in the jar. problem solved! (if not, it’d also be funny if they were ex’s. here’s how bill/dimple can still win).
•if prev didn’t happen, everyone would despise bill.
•most likely to get possessed by Bill: ritsu (s1), tome (bill would probably manipulate her w like giving her secrets of the universe or some shit), mob (pre-s3, it’d be to help him control his powers or something), serizawa (pre-s3), shou (post-s3. the guilt he has abt his father ((s2)) and the fact he doesn’t use his powers as much after canon). it’d be funny if he possessed reigen tho. imagine the chaos
•mob might try to help him but realize it’s a lost cause I.E. the big fight w toichiro
•most likely to get possessed by Dimple: Stan (they’d join forces to save the kids), Mabel (for goofs). Dipper is less likely only bc I don’t think Dipper (and Ford) would be very happy about being possessed (again).
i don’t have much for wendy and soos but I do want to add them. eventually.
im open to collabing so pls give me feedback in a nice way :)
who wants to hear how i think characters in mob psycho and gravity falls would interact
#op#gravity falls#mob psycho 100#mp100#i won’t tag all the characters ik that gets annoying#crossover#meta#<-(?) maybe for me to find later#anyway i hope yall enjoy#the whole time i was in my notes app i was like AHHH THE WORMS ARE BACK#gravity falls was my fave show when i was younger#anyway pls be nice 2 me#oh this took so long bc i cannot find my fucking computer charger and i hate typing things out so i wrote some out by hand

puppy pack dynamic (roles, development) in my humble opinion, had there been a spinoff or smth along those lines
liam: tries to be the leader. really does. stressed 24/7 but pretends not to be. isn’t really built for leading like scott was, but still tries anyways. struggles to ask for help sometimes. can snap bc of the ied. mainly he struggles to believe in himself because he sees himself as kind of irrational & incapable, so that lack of confidence can kinda get in the way of leading. he’s trying his best. generally likes everyone, even corey (who he’s kinda warming up to.) when theo shows up he’s the one who convinces everyone he’s worth keeping & it’s a whole disaster.
mason: the therapist friend who secretly needs therapy. he really went through it, so he mainly copes w the teenage near death experience by trying to make everything okay for everyone. very helpful & stuff. usually people realize when he’s overworking himself. liam and corey had to stage an actual intervention once. he kinda resents being human sometimes because he gets tired & hurt so much easier. eventually though he realizes that he does, in fact, have needs, and can put them over others sometimes. a wild realization. overall he’s energetic & the glue that holds all of them together. he even kinda warms up to theo after a while. kind of a long while, but hey
theo: definitely keeping his distance at first. most of the instances in 6A & 6B when he helped were sheer coincidence, and when they weren’t it’s because he needed to be there to help. after all of the repressed guilt resurfaced like an open wound i’m assuming the guy doesn’t really see himself as fun to be around. so liam probably has to drag him kicking & screaming to help out, and even more kicking and screaming to actually hang out with everyone. and by then the others catch onto the fact that he might be here to stay and really don’t like it. as much as we want theo redemption, he’s also done some horrible shit to everyone, so i think it’ll take time for the others to forgive theo. hell it’ll even take theo some time to forgive theo. but once they do i think they’ll probably show him how to actually be a teenager & a person again.
corey: honestly by the end of 6B he still hadn’t warmed up to anyone except mason really. in the beginning he’s probably closed off & maybe even apathetic seeming, and contrary to fandom portrayal i don’t think he’s really that soft either. he’s kind of snappy and logical for the most part in canon. so even though he’s chill around hayden & liam i think actually being close with the others would take a bit of time, as well as learning how to think quick during the constant life threatening situations beacon hills has to offer. also he spies for them generally & maybe has like a weapon of some sort
hayden: criminally underdeveloped by jeffery davis but i’ll try. uhh she’s generally badass & puts on a brave face but i feel like she’s scared of anything bad happening to her sister, since, presumably, her sister is THE ONLY FAMILY SHE HAS LEFT. there could definitely be some conflict around that. in the pack itself she’s very down to earth & realistic about things. probably the closest w liam since they dated & now they’re kinda frenemies and bicker a lot.
nolan: so i talk about how i would probably axe 6B but if i didn’t, nolan would be awkward & kind of adjacent to the puppy pack. he’d help, & he’d have the hunting skills to boot, but at first everyone would be wary of him & he’d keep his distance. after a little while i think he’d integrate but it’d take some time.
brett: the most chaotic member. flirts with literally everyone. what do you mean he’s dead. he’s not dead. shut

Can I request Yanqing? Prompt 67 - “I’m doing this.” “Then I’m going with you." Thank you!
(Untamed verse bc Yanli wouldn’t have been around when wwx confronts jzxun in the novel)
There’s just something off about Wei Wuxian.
Of course, there’s always something off about Wei Wuxian these days, Jiang Yanli reflects. He’s always angry, always on edge, snapping at everyone, acting insolently… She would never dare to say it out loud for fear of hurting him, but Jiang Yanli feels sometimes that Wei Wuxian has become the person her mother always accused him to be, reckless and selfish and endangering their sect simply to stroke his ego.
She hates those thoughts when they come to her.
Others might say what they will about Wei Wuxian, but she knows him better than that. There’s a reason he’s like this, there has to be.
Jiang Yanli knows about secrets. She has a few of her own, or else she’d have already accepted Jin Zixuan’s clumsy attempt at courting, wouldn’t she? And just as she's hiding hers, so deep that nobody ever thinks she's capable of hiding anything, not her, not sweet naive and weak Jiang Yanli, she knows there's something lurking beneath the surface of Wei Wuxian's disdain.
She listens attentively as Wei Wuxian comes for Jin Zixun's throat, ordering him around, demanding he be told where to find…
And here, Jiang Yanli almost cries out.
Wei Wuxian is looking for Wen Ning.
She knows those Wen siblings, they're like her and her brothers, never far apart, never for long. Where Wen Ning is, Wen Qing will be found as well. Jiang Yanli hasn't found a trace of her… her friend, not since the war ended. Of course she couldn't have asked Jiang Cheng, who wouldn't understand, or Wei Wuxian, who… well, he had his own trouble. Jin Zixuan assured her that all surviving Wen were being treated with more kindness than they would have done for others had they won, but by his own admission he hasn't been involved in dealing with them, the task left to his cousin and half-brother.
Her heart wild with worry, Jiang Yanli discreetly follows Wei Wuxian when he leaves Jinlin Tai. He doesn’t notice her. Nobody ever does, of course, but Jiang Yanli is hardly good at these sorts of things, so she’s irrationally cross at him, even knowing he’d send her back if he noticed her. She follows him through just outside of Jinlin Tai, hoping and hoping and hoping, until at last Wei Wuxian stops next to a beggar wearing rags that might once have been red.
Wen Qing all but leaps into Wei Wuxian’s arms as he whispers something to her, and Jiang Yanli’s heart skips a beat.
Wen Qing is alive after all.
Having seen her, Jiang Yanli can finally admit to herself how terrified she was that the dear friend she made in the Cloud Recesses had died, another casualty in that horrifying war, her head mounted on a spike somewhere like they did to Wen Xu and many others. It is such a relief to see Wen Qing again, to see her alive, that Jiang Yanli throws caution to the wind and stumbles forward to join the other two, pulling her dear friend into a tight hug.
“Shijie!” Wei Wuxian gasps. “Why are you here?”
“I’m here to help,” Jiang Yanli replies, letting go of Wen Qing, only to immediately take her hands. Her skin is cold, and she’s lost so much weight since they last saw each other. Jiang Yanli wants to bathe her, dress her in finer clothes, feed her. She wants to take Wen Qing somewhere safe, and keep her from harm for good. “What’s going on? A-Xian, you said something about Wen Ning earlier?”
Wen Qing shivers, and looks ready to cry. Jiang Yanli squeezes her hands with as much tenderness as she dares. She listens attentively as Wei Wuxian explains the situation, the Wen of Dafan Mountain being in danger, Wen Qing begging him for help, the Jin’s lies.
“I’m going to Qiongqi path right away to rescue the Wen,” Wei Wuxian announces in a wary tone, as if expecting resistance, but Jiang Yanli only nods.
From the start, her brother has favoured Wen Ning, treating him as a little brother… or something like it, anyway. Jiang Yanli has seen how happy Wei Wuxian was playing with Wen Ning in the Cloud Recesses, how he trusted that boy who should have been their enemy when Jiang Cheng was hurt… and of course she hasn’t missed the way Wen Ning always looked at Wei Wuxian like he hung the moon and stars.
“Then I’ll protect Wen guniang,” Jiang Yanli offers. “I’ll keep her safe with me until…”
“No, I have to go with Wei gongzi,” Wen Qing objects weakly. “A-Ning might need my help, or the others. If they’re wounded, I’ll… No, I can’t stay behind. I’m doing this.”
“Then I’m going with you,” Jiang Yanli simply replies, squeezing Wen Qing’s hands. “You have to let me help.”
Wen Qing doesn’t smile, but her eyes shine with gratefulness… or maybe she’s just that close to crying.
“Shijie can’t come, it’s too dangerous,” Wei Wuxian says. “It’ll also attract too much attention, and it’s not good for your health to be horse-riding such a long distance.”
Horse-riding, not flying a sword, Jiang Yanli notes. She expected Wei Wuxian to say he can’t carry two people, since Wen Qing doesn’t appear to have a sword anymore, and Jiang Yanli’s health doesn’t allow her to fly. It’s so odd. Wei Wuxian is a strong flyer, with a solid golden core, he should be able to fly to Qiongqi path with Wen Qing, so why take horses instead?
It makes no sense.
“I am not that weak,” Jiang Yanli protests, unwilling to be parted from the dear friend she’s only just found again. “And if I am present, I might exert more authority than you upon those people.”
“Or else everyone in the cultivation world will say I kidnapped you,” Wei Wuxian points out. “And then they’ll run after us to rescue you, and Wen Ning will be left to his fate. It’s safer if you don’t come. This doesn’t concern you, shijie, so let me deal with it alone.”
Because it concerns you, of course it concerns me, Jiang Yanli almost replies. Because it concerns Wen Qing, it also concerns me, she’d be tempted to add.
But that would only start a long argument, and Wei Wuxian is right about one thing: Wen Ning cannot be left to his fate. Besides, Jiang Yanli can find other ways to help.
“I understand,” she says, a touch too meekly. She sees a slight crease between Wen Qing’s eyebrows, and it pleases her that the other woman finds it odd for her to give in so easily, that she knows Jiang Yanli well enough for that. “I will stay behind… please be careful, both of you.”
“Don’t tell Jiang Cheng,” Wei Wuxian simply says, sounding oddly on edge at the idea her brother might be involved.
A horrible, terrible idea starts to form in her mind at the memory of those days they spent in Wen Qing’s house, so desperate to find a way for Jiang Cheng to regain his golden core, and how he never seems to do any sort of regular cultivation these days.
With hardly so much as a shiver, Jiang Yanli puts that suspicion aside. Later. She’ll deal with this later.
“I won’t say a word to him,” Jiang Yanli easily promises. “Go now, time is of the essence.”
Wei Wuxian nods. Wen Qing hugs her, just a touch too tight, as if expecting it’ll be the last time. Jiang Yanli has been hugged by Wen Qing for the last time repeatedly, so she knows how that feels of course.
Jiang Yanli watches as two of the three people she holds dearest in the world leave together for a rescue mission that she cannot imagine going well, not with Wei Wuxian’s temper these days. She watches on until she’s sure they’re gone, then heads back inside Jinlin Tai, her pace slow and careful to avoid attracting attention.
The men inside the banquet hall are all shouting and arguing, accusing Wei Wuxian of every crime under the sky, making it sound as though Jiang Cheng is weak for not keeping his head disciple under control. Jiang Yanli ignores them all, and they ignore her back. Sometimes it pays to have little presence.
While everyone argues, Jiang Yanli makes her way to Jin Zixuan’s side and pulls lightly on his sleeve. She would have expected it’d take effort to get his attention, but he instantly turns to look at her, and even tries to smile at her.
“Jiang guniang, I’m sure there’s a misunderstanding,” Jiang Zixuan says. “Since you’ve vouched for him, I believe Wei Wuxian cannot be that bad, or he wouldn’t have your trust. I’m sure we’ll sort this out, once everyone calms down.”
Jiang Yanli smiles back. If there weren’t more urgent things to consider, she’d be touched by his trust, by his gentleness.
“Jin gongzi, as it happens, I need your help,” she says in a low whisper, glad for the noise around them that hides her words. “I need to get to that place your cousin mentioned, Qiongqi path, and I need to get there quickly, but I cannot fly, and I cannot ask my brother.”
The smile on Jin Zixuan’s handsome face disappears, replaced by a severe expression as he glances around and tries to decide what to do. Jiang Yanli wouldn’t even blame him if he turned her down, not in the current political climate, not when his own cousin has just been assaulted. If this doesn’t work, then Jiang Yanli will try with someone else. That nice second Jade of Gusu Lan perhaps. Or else…
But she doesn’t need to think of an alternative. Jin Zixuan nods shortly, and discreetly motions for her to go back outside. She obeys, and he quickly joins her, sword in hand.
Flying is quicker than horses, so they’ll get there before Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing, and if Wen Ning is in any danger, they’ll save him.
And then…
Then it will be another problem.
But Jiang Yanli has just found Wen Qing again and she’s not going to let anyone take her dear friend from her again.

i notice you ship Kacchako- and there's nothing wrong with that but why? (note I haven't seen mha) from what I know, bakugou is a huge asshole who bullied deku a lot, while uraraka seems to be a nice person- i just wanna know why you ship them lol
oh BOY here comes the essay.
Please note that this why I ship kacchako. This is not meant to convince anyone to ship kacchako, but simply my reasons as to why I like these two characters together.
To start off I will openly admit that yes, Bakugou is an asshole. He bullied Deku a lot (probably due to that wonderful inferiority/superiority complex he’s got going on) and in general, is pretty loud and rude to everyone. He makes it a point to let everyone know that they are beneath him and goes out of his way to prove that he’s the best and no one could even hope to compare.
Meanwhile, Uraraka is the exact opposite: sweet, bubbly, and very kind to everyone. She actually wants to be a hero for the money to help her parents out bc she comes from a poor family (which I LOVE but that’s a topic for another meta). She never tries to prove herself to anyone as a result, and just focuses on trying to learn to be the best hero possible (because the better you are, the more money you make).
The most notable difference is their relationship with Deku (and actually this is one of my reasons for shipping them but we’ll get to that). Bakugou was Deku’s former friend and he has a strong dislike toward Deku, stemming from an unhealthy need to prove his superiority in every respect over Deku. Uraraka, on the other hand, is one of Deku’s new and close friends, and they get along really well.
So why do I ship kacchako? Mutual respect, understanding, and potential character growth. Explanation of that below, with manga screencaps.
1. Mutual Respect
This is the major point of their ship for me and it stems from their fight in the Sports Festival.
It’s quite obvious that Uraraka acknowledges Bakugou’s strength, after all, he’s seen as a powerhouse by everyone, and she repeatedly comments on his strength. But it takes a lot to get Bakugou to acknowledge someone. And with Uraraka, he does.
Aizawa just outright says it. Bakugou goes into the fight knowing that Uraraka is an opponent he needs to be wary of because she made it to the final round. Bakugou doesn’t see the small and sweet bubbly girl everyone else in the crowd is seeing, what he sees is an opponent, and Uraraka notices that. And just before launching her final attack, she thanks him.
Actually his reaction to her thanking him is one I love because we’ve never seen that kind of caught-off-guard expression on him before until this moment. To me, it seems that he couldn’t even imagine not taking her seriously because as mentioned before, she made it to the final round so in his mind she has to be strong to do that, and her thanking him for it is making him go “huh? what are you even thanking me for?”.
For her final attack, she drops a meteor shower on his head, he blows it away, and then we get this panel.
This is the first time in the manga that Bakugou acknowledges that someone nearly took him out. His hand is pounding from Quirk overuse and it’s the first time we see an adverse effect of his Quirk, the blowback from using too strong of an explosion. But more important is the fact that he says “that was close”, explicitly acknowledging that she nearly took him out. Respect.
So then after that Uraraka gets up and rushes at him again to attack, even though she’s clearly shown to be at her limit, and we get this from Bakugou:
He calls her by name. That’s incredibly important.
Throughout the manga, Bakugou uses nicknames (Deku, Shitty Hair, Flat Face etc.) to keep people at a distance and let them know he doesn’t give a shit about them. Keep in mind that before, he’d used a nickname for Uraraka, calling her Round Face right at the beginning of the fight. But now that she’s driven him to the limit he knows this girl is strong. And here, when he calls her by her name, he’s acknowledging her and her strength. This is the first person in class 1-A that he calls by name (Kirishima also eventually graduates from Shitty Hair to Kirishima, but that’s way later). After this, he doesn’t go back to using Round Face for her either. He keeps using her name when he refers to her, even in his head.
So Uraraka, at her limit, collapses before she even reaches Bakugou and he’s clearly shaken up by that. He was expecting the fight he’d been dreaming of, where he could give his all and fight an opponent that he genuinely respected and saw as strong, and then she collapsed. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was a look of concern, I think it was more of mixed disappointment and shock.
When he re-enters the stands, all his classmates comment on the fight as he goes to sit down. A classmate (Kaminari) says something along the lines of “I can’t believe you could bring yourself to go so hard against such a fragile/small girl”. And in response comes the single line that was catalyst for me shipping kacchako. “Where do you see fragile?”
This is the first time he’s defended someone other than himself or All Might in this series. It just goes to show that he really does acknowledge Uraraka and her strength, to the point that he’s willing to speak up and say that to others, albeit in a indirect way.
Wayyy later he continues to respect her!
This is part of a page spread of characters introductions as given by Bakugou and Uraraka’s is the only vaguely positive character introduction Bakugou gives. Everyone else gets something kind of aggressive and along the lines of ‘I’ll beat you’ or ‘you’re weak’ and then Uraraka gets ‘her guts and roundness are acceptable’. Other translations say “her guts and roundness are respectable’ and I’m not sure which is correct, but either way, respect!!
The fact that one of the times he was smiling during a fight was against Uraraka. If he only smiles when fighting people he consider to be “towering walls” aka challenges, he must have seen Uraraka as one. Further proof of respect!
Over and over in that Sports Festival fight and then after, Horikoshi makes it a point to establish that Bakugou respects Uraraka’s strength. And that’s a major reason that I ship them. I like that dynamic of two people knowing that the other can kick major ass and respecting the hell out of them for it, especially if one character doesn’t look like they can kick ass.
2. Understanding
This goes a little bit more from Uraraka to Bakugou than the other way around, to be honest, but it’s a reason I ship them all the same. This is shown most clearly in the post- midterm exams omake (which is only in the manga and not the anime).
I love this omake so much because first of all, it reveals that Uraraka watches Bakugou from across the classroom closely enough to pick up on changes in his mood (as evidenced when she says “I sensed your Bakurage Aura” to him) and second, it reveals that she can pick up on changes in his emotional state easily.
But the most important part of that omake is this panel.
This is huge.
The way she outright says that Bakugou is terrified of Izuku’s potential development shows a deep understanding of Bakugou’s emotions and mental state that’s very unique. We never see anything like this level of understanding from any of their other classmates in direct relation to Bakugou. When she says “you act all menacing”, it shows that she knows that Bakugou’s yelling and bluster is an act put on the distance Izuku because he’s scared of him.
This revelation wasn’t revealed to Deku and All Might until Deku v. Kacchan 2 when Bakugou told the two of them what he was feeling in terms that they could understand. And this was way before this, right after the midterm exams.
She follows this up by asking him to repair his relationship with Deku and be nicer to him. They hadn’t even interacted much, so the fact that she noticed this in the first place and then felt comfortable enough to tell him that to his face says a lot about how she understands him and is comfortable around him.
Bakugou is completely taken aback by this and sit and listens to her and lets her finish before yelling at her, which is big because if he didn’t respect what she had to say, he would have just cut her off and left, but he didn’t. That respect comes back into play.
So Uraraka genuinely gets Bakugou, both emotionally and mentally, and isn’t afraid to tell him about her observations, and that’s another big plus for me. I love how Uraraka can see right through him and catch him off guard every time they interact meaningfully. That deep understanding is an important part of any relationship, and the fact that she can analyze him like this, despite not being a close friend to him was interesting to me because of the potential for character development.
3. Character Development (both canon and potential)
Character development is a big thing for me when it comes to ships. I tend to really like ships that change a character for the better in some way or the other.
The Sports Festival fight changed the both of them. When Bakugou fought Todoroki and told him to give it his all, the speech bubble placement implies he was thinking of his fight with Uraraka when he said that. She’s his standard for a good fight now.
On the other end, Bakugou helped Uraraka realize that she didn’t need to exclusively focus on rescue with her Quirk and she takes an internship under Gunhead as a result, growing her character in a major way. Those Gunhead martial arts get used a lot later on by her, and none of that would have happened if her fight with Bakugou hadn’t happened. Overall, the Sports Festival fight was important to both their character arcs and I love that.
From the understanding part comes more possibility for character development. This is where their differing relationships with Deku come into play. One admires him and the other is scared of his growth. With her understanding of Bakugou and his relationship with Deku, Uraraka could genuinely help repair their relationship.
Also them as training partners! Not only do their Quirks have the potential for incredible compatibility (zero-gravity and explosions = human rockets/missiles??) but they could help the other with new skills. Uraraka could teach Bakugou Gunhead martial arts and help him improve his hand-to-hand Quirkless combat, Bakugou could help Uraraka with comabt awareness and increasing her power. He’s probably also got some ideas for creative applications of her Quirk. Make them training buddies, Horikoshi, I beg of you.
4. Other Things
Uraraka is completely chill with his foul-mouthed nature! She actually finds it even a little funny.
THE WAY SHE’S JUST NOT AT ALL SCARED TO THROW DOWN WITH HIM!! In the post midterms omake she even matches the Bakurage face at the end! She doesn’t take his shit at all and is 100% ready to fight again.
The chocolate manju scene from the war arc is hilarious to me because she’s comfortable enough around him to lightly reprimand him and the way he knows that she’s a foodie and wants to try the chocolate manju is really cute to me.
---
Of course, everything I said can also be platonically interpreted. I would just love for them to be friends in canon, and really, that’s what all of this logically leads to. I just like to dream about it slowly growing into romance during their pro hero years.
#you noticed more like your dash got flooded bc of me rip#kacchako#bakugou katsuki#uraraka ochako#I literally love this ship so much and think about them every day can you tell

Them with a Shy S/o [Persona 5]
anon: Hello! Congratulations on your Followers! I wanted to ask if you can write the "Them with a shy s/o" for the Persona 5 cast as well? Thanks!!
Characters Included: Akira Kurusu, Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann Takamaki, Yusuke Kitagawa, Makoto Niijima, Haru Okumura, Futaba Sakura & Goro Akechi
Note: A lot of you guys like Persona 5 huh? Oh well, I can see why :) Hope ya’ll enjoy this!
Reader’s Gender: Neutral
Warning: none
Akira Kurusu
This guy? He'll find it cute— no, scratch that. ADORABLE that his s/o's shy. He'll be all over them when he laid eyes on them, they better be prepared >:)
We all know this guy's a tease, right? And you are NO exception to this. Actually, you had it worse.
Because you are shy, he'll find every reaction of yours cute and always seem to tease you about it, until you were pretty much the twin of an apple -_-
But he knows his limit, of course. If he sees that it's either making you uncomfortable or hurt by what he's doing, he'll stop.
When you two first meet, it's you avoiding him and him pouting as you ran away. Pretty much a cat-and-rat chase, which the Phantom Thieves find funny, watching their leader chasing his s/o.
The reason why you're running? You heard the rumors and thought it was true. Not wanting to be his next victim, you ran whenever he's near you.
He only managed to talk to you (without you running away) when Ann drag you over to Akira, the group have had enough of this shenanigans.
You two hang-out in either LeBlanc or outside, but mostly in LeBlanc though. You two just chilling while drinking coffee (or tea, or whatever beverages you prefer) and just talk.
He'll find it hilarious if he finds out you're talkative, he might tease you about it but other than that, made no comment about it. He loves your voice so it's a bonus for him :D
How he ask you out? He asks you in a straightforward manner while you were drinking, which made you successfully chock. You two panic for a bit before you answered him yes, with a bit of embarrassment ofc.
Ryuji Sakamoto
He might not at all notice you, srry. Unless you're either friends with his friends (or his friends pointing at you) or you're a victim of Kamoshida. Yeah. That's the only way for him to only notice you.
He might not really care about you much but when he notices you everywhere he goes, he suddenly cared about you.
Like Akira, he finds your shy trait cute and find it hilarious when he finds out you're talkative. But he also LOVES hearing your voice so its a plus for him.
I don’t see Ryuji as a tease though, he might be as shy as you are! Which frustrates the group when Ryuji is being his Tsundere self. Like you would go up to him and he will either freeze or go away from you, that is, IF he realizes his feelings for you.
But he finds every reaction of yours cute but he wouldn’t admit it.
How you two meet? The first bulletin pls. If you’re friends with one of his friends, namely Ann, she would basically drag you over to meet him and the rest. If you’re a victim, chances are you appeared as a Shadow in Kamoshida’s Palace.
He would find your shy self indifferent really, he already has seen that reaction of yours everywhere he goes (his delinquent self and all). But he might get to know you if you two were (force) to be together or left alone, he finds silence uncomfortable afterall.
You two will be often seen hanging out during and after school, probably in front of a store or the arcade. Akira (with Morgana) and Ann will also join in but not all the time, so its basically you and Ryuji.
How he ask you out? Very hesitant, shy and in-denial. It might take some time, and his friends pushing, for him to ask you out. But when he does confess, you could hardly understand what he was trying to tell you. Him stuttering while blushing while still acting cool, yeah, you were hella confuse.
But when you DO understand, you’ll blush and nod, too shy to say anything (much to Ryuji’s relief and dismay).
Ann Takamaki
This girl’s basically gushes about how adorable you were and spoils you rotten, much to your embarrassment. You two definitely met by her approaching you and just start talking.
If she sees you were uncomfortable with her, she would keep her distance. Other than that, she’ll be stuck with you. Good luck with that.
She’s so energetic that she would drag you to places where you’ve never been before.
She’ll be the one who orders for the both of you if you are uncomfortable doing so, she really doesn’t mind.
She might tease you a bit, just to get a reaction out of you. But if she sees you were getting hurt or uncomfortable by her teasing, she’ll stop. This woman respects your privacy to a whole new level -_-
Like I said, Ann drags you places to places. You two are hardly ever seen in one place really, except for school, LeBlanc and that store that sells sweets.
She doesn’t really mind your shy self really, but when she finds out you’re chatty, you two will be talking non-stop. Your topics will keep bouncing from one to another, till there is nothing left to say (which would probably never happen since you two always seem to find something to talk about).
How does she confess her undying love to you? She does it in a cliche way, this girl lives for cliches :) She does it by giving you 3 red roses, which means “I love you”. Whether you know or not about flower language, she wouldn’t tell you at once. She’ll wait until you figure it out.
If you don’t know, either search in Google or ask someone (Siri?). You should probably go to Haru or Makoto for this.
If you already knew or just figured it out, you would immediately go to Ann and say your answer to her. Pls say yes ;-;
Yusuke Kitagawa
This boi doesn’t really care about your shy personality, no, he finds it endearing. You somehow managed to caught his artistic eyes. Don’t get me started with this poor boi. He doesn’t know how to approach you! So he did it the only way he knows how, following you around.
Ofc, this has an opposite effect than what Yusuke wanted. This made him creepy and stalker for you, so you keep running away while him chasing you. You even thought he was a kidnapper or a thief (not literally tho COUGH COUGH).
The group finds it amusing (Mommy Makoto sighing in the background) as they watch the scene unfold. But as the days go by, they were kinda worried and concerned about the two of you. So they decided to take matters in their own hands.
They managed to get you and Yusuke in the same room together. They even instructed Yusuke to not be weird. Yusuke, being confused, decided to follow their orders.
The two of you managed to have a civil conversation about sunsets of all things. Ofc, you were still wary around him but you soon found yourself being comfortable around him.
Yusuke isn’t a tease at all, actually, he’s more oblivious than you even! Yusuke doesn’t really understand the concept about love but is willing to learn about it.
(PS: Pls also feed this bby boi ;-; he needs it DESPERATELY)
You and Yusuke can be found either in a art gallery or his house. It’s also either watching him paint, listening to him rant or being his muse. It might be boring to others but you always found yourself enjoying his peculiar self.
He doesn’t mind if you’re talkative really. He likes to listen to you whenever you talk about something, he also finds this trait of yours endearing.
How he ask you out? Pls don’t ask ;-;. This boi doesn’t even know his feelings towards you, which was VERY obvious to everyone, heck, even you! You, being your shy self, is very hesitant to confess to him. WHAT IF HE DOESN’T LIKE ME? -_- <-- my reaction
It take everyone to explain to him his feelings. You might need to wait a bit long for him to finally realize his feelings. But when he does, he’ll immediately confess to you. This boi doesn’t know how to be embarrassed unfortunately ;-;
Makoto Niijima
This girl would notice you if you were in the Student Council or classmates with her or a victim of someone’s Palace. Other than that, you’re pretty much a background character for her.
You always thought she was intimidating so you avoid her as much as you could. When Makoto notices you avoiding her, she would be hurt ofc. Did she do something to you that she doesn’t know of? You can be sure that Makoto would rack her mind for DAYS, trying to recall what made you avoid her so much.
If she couldn’t find out about it, be sure that she’ll approach you the following day. Managing to corner you, which is unintentional for her part. She would ask you the question and when you answered honestly (you can’t lie to her), she would be confuse.
But ever since then, she would make an effort in becoming friends with you. She’s not bothered by your shy self, she finds it cute though :)
If she finds out you’re talkative, she’ll be surprised about it but it was warmly welcomed, especially during her time in being President. During her signing papers, you would talk to her about your day and some unrelated topics. She doesn’t mind at all, she finds your voice soothing.
Pls give this girl a rest ;-; she works wayyyy too hard.
You two can be found hanging out in LeBlanc or either houses. You two can be drinking coffee (or whatever beverages you prefer) and just chat with one another.
How does she confess? It might also take some time since she wants to make sure that what she’s feeling is true. Bc I can see her as the person who likes someone, it’s already that person that they want to marry and spend their whole life together.
But when she is sure about it, she would take it slow and confess to you. She’s patient so she watches as you fumble your words up. She’ll be overjoyed that you accept her feelings though.
Yay! Happy mommy Makoto :D
Haru Okumura
She already notices you wayyy before you notice her. She notices your shy self and talkative self, she finds it adorable though. I’m gonna bet that she will be the one who approaches you first and strike a conversation with you.
You couldn’t afford to run away from her, she’s too precious! TwT So you decided to converse with her also and find yourself enjoying her presence much.
Her aura around her gives out a soothing one, it easily attracts someone to her. It could be a weapon or defense, not sure. But one thing is for sure, you’re hook at once.
She might tease you here and there, but she’s rather passive. She enjoys cuddling and holding hands with you, even before you two started to date. She’s touch-starved ;-;
She is the kind of person who listens to other people talking. She wouldn’t dare to interrupt you while you are talking about something you are passionate about.
You two are never in the same place, like Ann. You two can be found everywhere, since I like to think that Haru likes to explore new areas. But she’s not gonna drag you around if you don’t like it. She would DEFINTELY stay with you at home, cuddling with you in the couch.
Haru might seem shy at first, but don’t be fooled! When she finds out she has feelings for you, she would straight-in confess her feelings to you. It might involve a bouquet or two :)
Pls say yes ;-; this bby deserve da world :)
Futaba Sakura
She doesn’t know you at all, unless you are either a part of the Phantom Thieves or a friend of her friends. Though she wouldn’t meet you either in that, so you best believe that you are a member of this outcast group or else you wouldn’t meet this hacker girl.
She can relate to you so much, although hers is much more of anxiety than shyness. She can still relate to you. You two might not talk at all, unless someone forces them to talk each other (i.e: mommy Makoto or daddy Akira :3 I don’t ship them tho).
You two instantly click though, much to everyone’s relief and dismay. You can bet that Futaba would drag you in her shenanigans, better be prepared :)
SHE LOVES THAT YOU TWO CAN TALK ENDLESSLY :D
Where you two can be seen? In her room. She never leaves her room unless necessary. So you two hang-out there, hope you don’t mind. You two play video games together or her teaching you how to hack.
She isn’t much into touchy-feely things but she would welcome a hug or cuddles. She’s more touch-starved than Haru unfortunately ;-;
How she asks you out? Simple. She doesn’t. And the worst thing, you don’t either. So you two can be friends for so long until either one of you confess.
So you better toughen up if you want her to be your girlfriend >:) This girl would surely say yes if you (stutter your) confess(ion).
Goro Akechi
This boi is almost like Akira in so many ways, except for the fact that he handle his situation in a much different way. This two bois can be best bros if they want to -_-
Anyway, back to hc.
You two would meet during his school days or outside. He recognizes you as the shy girl in his class. He might scare you away though, since you can’t handle his fangirls or his charming looks, much to his confusion.
He tries talking to you but you always manage to find a loop-hole, much to his dismay. He managed to talk to you when you two were (coincidentally) riding the train.
That’s the start of the bittersweet friendship you two have.
Much like Akira, he WILL tease you to get reaction from you, he finds this adorable. He would leave teasing kisses around your faces and leave a lingering kiss on your lips, leaving you wanting more. He’s such a tease -3-
But he’ll stop if he sees you embarrassed or hurt, he’ll kiss your entire face in apology. At the end, you are as red as a Cherry.
You two can be seen either in either your home or in LeBlanc or anywhere private, since he has a fanbase. He would rather for the two of you to be at home or at LeBlanc since it really provides privacy.
His work schedule is all over the place, so be sure to always be prepared whenever Akechi wants to hang-out with you.
It’s also a plus if you can cook pancakes for him :) You get his approval
How he asks you out? In the most basic way, asking you if you are available tomorrow to eat dinner or watch movie. SAY YES PLS :)
(He’s internally panicking ofc)
BTW, be sure to be prepared when he breaks up with you at the end. You know what I mean :)

Sun & Moon #2
End of Summer, 98 AG.
Iroh visits Caldera and announces to his family at breakfast that he has a new partner. Obviously, everyone is ecstatic bc Iroh hasn’t had a partner for like 15-ish years now, and everyone excitedly asks who it is.
Iroh laughs and says its a secret until they meet him at dinner, as he’s staying at caldera for the same amount of time Iroh is. The family buzz about the news all day until dinner, when Iroh walks in with not one, but two men following him.
King Bumi, and Pakku.
Most of the family don’t get why Hakoda is struggling not to laugh, why Bato is in complete disbelief, why Katara looks a bit mad, and why Sokka looks completely baffled. Lu Ten is also fairly shocked, but gets over it quickly to get up and hug his new step-dads, warmly welcoming them into the family. Kya quickly jabs both her husbands in the ribs and welcomes the duo as well.
The family quickly followed, and the dinner went well, if slightly awkward, as Pakku was clearly very new to dating men, and Bumi was, well, bumi.
They learn that Iroh met them through the white lotus, which he brushes off as a friend group for old men to keep the white lotus’ actual identity a secret, and that all three disliked eachother at first. Bumi disliked Iroh for the whole ‘army general against the earth king’ thing, but after the war ended, Bumi warmed up to him.
Pakku disliked iroh at first bc Fire Nation and Royal, Iroh disliked Pakku bc Sexist, and Pakku disliked bumi for being so physically affection with his friends, and for just being so generally chaotic.
Now, Pakku is unlearning his sexism, all three are in love, Bumi is keeping to the boundaries Pakku set up for his own comfort, and Iroh is very happy he’s found love again. That night, he confesses to them he thought he’d never find love after lu ten’s mother died, but he did and he’s very glad about it.
Zuko was a bit wary at first, especially with Pakku’s grumpy-and-tired external appearance, but had a talk with Lu Ten and came to accept that as long as his uncle and step-uncles are happy together, thats all that matters.
Piandao has now accepted that he’s now related to his old-man-friend-group, aside from his boyfriend Jeong Jeong, but even then he’s still in the family as he’s dating piandao
Overall, it went better than Iroh internally expected, sure he knew they’d be accepting, but his father’s cold, unaccepting voice was still at the back of his mind, so he was a bit nervous about it. Bumi made sure he was okay as soon as dinner was over, and Pakku stayed close to him for the rest of the day to make sure he was fine and not letting azulon’s comments get to him. (Toph overheard and decided she was gonna beat up Iroh’s anxieties, nobody’s messing with her grandpa but her)
After their visit was over, Iroh moved to Omashu and moved his tea shop there, although its now a chain going from omashu to ba sing se. Pakku wasn’t entirely comfortable being so far away from home constantly, so he stayed in the north and made frequent travels to Omashu, along with Iroh & Bumi visiting the north. (Long-distance relationships aren’t easy, but Iroh’s used to it. years of being away at war and having only letters to talk to family through isn’t easy, but atleast it makes his long-distance relationship with pakku a bit easier)
Toph also managed to talk Bumi into giving her birth-right to Omashu’s throne, because Jet already called dibs on Ba Sing Se’s throne. She doesn’t like certain parts of it, but if she can rule it even remotely close to how Bumi does, she’ll be fine.
So now, once again, the fire nation extended family grows a bit more, Azula is even more convinced nobody in the family is straight, and Lu Ten gets new step-dads.

4 Times Lucifer Showed He Cared The Demon Way (And Thought Chloe Reciprocated) +1 Time He Tried Showing It The Human Way
AIT BUCKLE UP YALL BC IMMA GET ON SOME BULLSHIT
prepare for a mess of a headcanon post in which i extrapolate wildly from single lines in the show, read way too much into interactions, and get very emotional
actual post under the cut because this is long as fuck, yo
1. Sharing Territory
Trust is the rarest commodity in Hell. Demons are aggressive, suspicious and territorial by nature, and taught from birth that you’re just as likely to be killed in a fight with someone from your own clan as you are to be cut down in a war with someone else’s. Maze recalls her siblings torturing one another, possibly for fun, and even among family there seems to be a certain level of wariness. Finding someone you can trust to share your space, someone who will keep watch while you rest, someone you don’t have to be so guarded around, is rare and precious and a big expression of real affection.
In 1x02 Lucifer lets himself into Chloe’s home while she’s in the shower, makes himself at home, and starts making her breakfast.
Now, Lucifer knows how door etiquette works. We’ve seen him learn about this, more than once.
In 1x03, he barges into Linda’s office, interrupting another patient’s session, but in 1x08 he knocks on her door and waits for her to call him in.
In 1x07 we see him ring Carmen’s doorbell and wait for him to answer, despite having a far better reason to barge in and wreak havoc (reclaiming his stolen wings).
In 2x01, again, he knocks on the killer’s door and waits for her to answer it.
So, this isn’t a case of “he’s not human, he doesn’t understand”. He only does this with Chloe. And it’s something he does repeatedly, even after he’s learned his lesson about knocking with everyone else - coming into her territory and leaving her, her family and all her things unharmed, showing her that he’s relaxed and comfortable in her space. And he gets the reaction he wants! She’s alarmed the first time she finds him in her kitchen, but as time goes by she gets used to it, accepts it as just one of his weird quirks, and no longer really bats an eyelid. By 3x05 she’s not even surprised to see him; she still ticks him off - “I said to meet me here, not barge in like you own the place.” - but it’s almost like she’s just saying it out of habit at this point. She’s not threatened by him at all.
~
We don’t know when Lucifer invites her to treat his penthouse the same way, but by the time she shows up drunk and trying to sleep with him in 1x10, he’s told her that “[his] door is always open”, an invitation to do the same. And she does (and has been doing already). Chloe is spectacularly comfortable appropriating Lucifer’s things.
In 1x09 when they’re dueting Heart & Soul she lets herself in unexpectedly and takes a drink from his glass while they’re playing (and here you can see him raise his eyebrows and smile at her, but he doesn’t comment).
In 1x10, she’s clearly intending to stay in his penthouse even after he tells her he was planning on going out, and she helps herself to his alcohol.
In 3x06 she’s comfortable enough with him to raid his closet, take over his home without his knowledge, try to break into his safe and sleep in his bed.
2. Hunting For Your Partner
Humans don't regularly hunt for their own food, but demons do - Maze asks Trixie in S4 at what age human parents teach their children to hunt, presumably because it’s a responsibility she intends to take on for baby Charlie. Now, to survive in a place like Hell, prey animals would need to be in possession of some hardcore natural defences; demons most likely can and do die in hunts. So providing someone with food would be a big deal; it shows how highly you prize that person’s wellbeing, that you’re willing to put yourself at risk and expend valuable effort and energy to keep them fed.
Lucifer tries to make Chloe breakfast in 1x04. This is the first time we really see him do anything domestic, and it’s implied he’s actually pretty handy in the kitchen - possibly because he just likes human food, but also the time and effort he’ll spend making her a proper home-cooked meal is the closest he’s going to get to hunting something the size of a small airplane for her in Hell.
~
Later, in 2x07, Chloe makes Lucifer and Trixie sandwiches. She goes to give Trixie the first one, because for humans it’s normal to feed your kid first, but Lucifer swipes it off the plate before Trixie can, claiming he’s “far larger and hungrier”, because in Hell the strongest and most vicious eat first (as with many pack predators).
Lucifer later asks Linda what deep meaning the sandwich had - whether it symbolised Chloe’s trust - and seems bewildered that for humans, a sandwich can just be a sandwich. He also brings her homecooked food as an apology after standing her up, all of which seems to imply that Lucifer grew up in a culture where food is valuable and meaningful and an expression of deeper feeling. (This could also be seen to a lesser extent in Maze wanting Lucifer to make her a drink in 2x04, when she’s trying to redefine their relationship as equals rather than lord and vassal.)
3. Fighting Together
Demons do have a concept of loyalty. Maze says “You don’t let your girl go into enemy territory alone”, and it seems to be a principle that’s important enough to her that she’s including it in Trixie’s training - when Maze is going to Canada, Trixie tries to hide in her bag because Maze needs someone to watch her back. Maze and Lucifer are also incredibly loyal to one another in the grand scheme of things - regardless of their issues with one another, they are a united front against outside threats, at least before they both start developing human relationships.
Lucifer is startlingly loyal to Chloe from the get-go, for someone who’s spent billions of years not being able to trust or lean on anyone except Maze.
In 1x02, he stops chasing after Josh as soon as he realises Chloe has been mobbed by paparazzi, choosing instead to go back and defend her - even though this lets Josh, who needs punishing, get away.
Now, in 4x01 Maze says that she (and probably demons in general) fight when they’re “Happy...or horny”, implying that fighting may be as much a bonding activity as a necessity.
With the paparazzi mob, Lucifer goes in all guns blazing, making it personal - “Back off, you mouth-breathing scum!” - because he’s protecting her, trying to deflect their attention from her. But as soon as he notices she’s holding her own, with her fist raised to hit the guy, he gets all excited and encourages her to go ahead: “Let’s punch them all!”
He now sees this as an opportunity to bond with her, show her she can trust him to watch her back, and when she declines to start a fight he’s visibly disappointed.
~
Chloe then joins the illegal Lux party in 2x09.
Now, she’s spent most of the episode being sensible and rational about the fact that really there’s not a lot she can do, which was understandably upsetting to Lucifer - it’s the first time he’s really seen his detective not be able to fix a situation. He goes to her repeatedly for help throughout the episode - he either hasn’t realised or doesn’t want to accept that the law has her powerless here - and sees it more as “her not being on his side” than “her not actually having any power over this situation”.
Her joining his sit-in reaffirms to him that he matters to her; that she has his back even though she has no personal stake in keeping Lux’s building from being demolished. This is all the more poignant for him because he’s very vulnerable at this point; he’s not just on the verge of losing his home, he’s also dealing with his mom’s manipulation and abuse, his own emerging human emotions, the new distance in his relationship with Maze. He believed he was completely alone in this. Chloe’s public show of support means a lot to him, and he even talks to Linda about how insanely grand a gesture Chloe’s saving Lux is to him - he’s never been given something without strings attached, without having to give something in return.
4. Your Enemies Are My Enemies
Making enemies in Hell can be lethal. Retaliation for a small slight can turn vicious in an eyeblink and generally it's not a good idea to get involved in someone else's grudges if you want to avoid a knife in your back. Adopting someone’s enemies as your own enemies, defending them against said enemies, inserting yourself into their preexisting quarrels as backup, is a big show of loyalty.
Lucifer is always getting in on Chloe’s arguments. Constantly.
From what we’ve seen and heard, Lucifer’s family isn’t big on backup. We’ve only got Lucifer’s word, and he’s very biased, so he’s not the most reliable narrator, but we can see it in the way Mum and Amenadiel behave.
When Lucifer is rowing with his mom in 2x08, Amenadiel doesn’t intervene at all. He’s already said that he’s on his mom’s side at this point, but he doesn’t defend her, either; he avoids the confrontation altogether.
Lucifer says that none of his family defended him when he was thrown out of Heaven, repeatedly, and with increasing bitterness the more he realises that the way his family treated him is a) abnormal and b) abusive.
Early Lucifer seems to have picked up this trait. He doesn’t involve himself in arguments unless he’s getting something out of it; when Maze and Amenadiel are about to throw down in 3x11, he literally sits back to watch with popcorn, despite knowing that this fight could go very badly for Maze.
With Chloe though, he starts jumping in from Actual Day One.
When Dan is gaslighting Chloe in 1x01, he stands up for her immediately: “She is smart. You’re the dimwit.”
Then he punches out Paolucci for calling Chloe a bitch in 1x05. Chloe tells him not to, that she can handle her own problems, and Lucifer not only tells her that she absolutely can but also clarifies to Paolucci before punching him that he’s not sticking up for Chloe. But the message is pretty obvious all the same: if you have a problem with her, I have a problem with you.
~
Chloe then refuses to call him a liar at Perry Smith’s trial in 2x10.
There is no one - not one single person - in Lucifer’s life who hasn’t betrayed him when it mattered. Even Maze, his oldest friend and closest confidante, goes behind his back in S1 to get them both sent back to Hell against Lucifer’s wishes.
Calling him a liar would benefit Chloe. She has a vested interest in getting her father’s killer convicted. She’s been offered the guy’s own lawyer’s help in getting a guilty verdict, if she humiliates Lucifer.
Anyone else in his life would absolutely take those terms.
But she not only refuses to turn on him, she tells an entire room full of people that he never lies, that he’s the best partner she has ever had, and that a) she knows she can rely on him and b) she wants him to know he can rely on her.
There’s an added layer of meaning in that the person she’s taking on is Charlotte. Chloe doesn’t know that she’s Lucifer’s mom, or what she’s really capable of, but Charlotte herself (without Goddess attached) has a reputation for being ruthless, surrounded by shady people, and an absolute shark in the courtroom. Having Charlotte defending him vastly increases Perry’s chances of getting away with murdering Chloe’s dad. It goes against Chloe’s own interests to defend Lucifer.
But she does anyway.
+1. Spawn Care
This one is...pretty much pure headcanon, but two things are clear from canon:
1. If Maze’s family is typical for demons, their family bonds are neither close nor particularly affectionate, but
2. They do/are meant to have some input in raising their children - Maze talks about teaching young to hunt as a parental/family responsibility.
Lucifer becomes a major adult in Trixie’s life by default thanks to his relationship with Chloe, but despite his intense dislike of children in general, he actually tries really hard to be good at it.
Lucifer doesn’t have a model of good parental behaviour to draw on. Chloe is the first competent, loving parent he’s spent any large amount of time with. What he has is an eternity’s worth of child abuse, gaslighting, manipulation and scapegoating by his own family. But if you look at how he treats Trixie, he puts a lot of effort into not just tolerating Trixie for Chloe’s sake, but being a good influence - or, what he considers a good influence - and a third parent-type figure for her.
In 1x01, he intervenes immediately when he notices Trixie’s distressed by Dan and Chloe arguing in front of her. It comes across as a throwaway comment, but it seamlessly breaks up their hostility by redirecting Dan’s attention and deflecting the shot he takes at Lucifer.
In the same episode, he also takes enough of a liking to Trixie (or Chloe) that he takes it upon himself to scare the bejeezus out of her bully, even though the kid is like 12 and has not done anything as heinous as the shit that normally makes him show suspects his eyes/face.
In 2x02, he spends a large part of the episode arguing on Trixie’s behalf that Chloe should get her the doll, to the point of telling Chloe she’s being a bad parent. Which would be a really petty and honestly irrelevant hill to die on, except that Lucifer’s own upbringing was horrific and he honestly believes she’s somehow damaging Trixie emotionally here. He doesn’t want her to end up with the kind of issues he has. He’s genuinely trying to advocate for her. And when Chloe doesn’t listen to him, he buys the damn doll himself and tells Chloe she can say it’s from her, because he’s very invested in a) Trixie’s wellbeing and b) Chloe’s being a good mother.
In the 2x07 sandwich scene, he actually seems disappointed that Trixie doesn’t challenge him over stealing her sandwich - he even asks Chloe is she always like this, like her generosity is a fault. My personal headcanon is that demon spawn would’ve done exactly that - he’s not exactly family, but he’s close enough that he’s a safe bet to practice one’s intimidation skills on, because he’d never really harm Trixie. He’s trying to teach her something, something he knows she won’t learn from her human parents. Maze contributes to raising Trixie by teaching her to fight (and babysitting) and Lucifer is doing the same, trying to pass on what he considers a useful life skill - something that has probably helped keep him alive in Hell for billions of years. When Trixie leaps off her stool and runs at him, his flinch/hands raised/ “GAH!” reaction looks overdramatic even for him; maybe if she hadn’t given him five and raced off, he might have handed over the sandwich and considered it lesson learned.
And in 2x15, he offers her driving lessons in exchange for her playing along with his trip to the school, which says a lot about how much he really likes her: he intends to teach her himself, and in his own car. The Corvette. His baby. Lucifer does all sorts of shady shit through his favours; finding someone to safely teach an eight year old to drive should be easy!
(Also, honorable mention for him hulking the fuck out when Tiernan’s gunmen threaten Trixie and Eve in his penthouse. Was there any need to shatter his own wall? Probably not. Did he do it anyway? Absolutely. Because children are hideous little creatures but that one is his hideous little creature.)
In conclusion: Lucifer is not remotely subtle about his feelings, Maze feels highkey sick watching them interact Ever, and Chloe’s thing with Pierce throws him so off guard partly because they’ve been in the Hell equivalent of A Relationship for like three years.

Miraculous and The Light (HC)
Ok, so. This HC is based on this idea. It’s a miraculous x dc crossover and one of the best ideas, I’ve read recently. I really liked it and this is why I’m forcing myself to write my ideas down.
Before we start the HC, I need to clear some things. Marinette becomes the guardian in age of 13, the kwami are teaching her as good as they can. Luka has the snake miraculous, Chloé the bee (but new costume), Kagami the dragon (again new costume) and Adrien is Chat Noir. Alix has the bunny and Kim the ape miraculous. (The two are chaos and they smelled Lila’s bullshit before she came back the second time). They deal with Hawkmoth as good as they can and they do good. Until Lila does her shit again. She manipulates Alya, which leads also Nino to be one of her followers and since Adrien is his best friend, he starts to listen to Lila. He becomes obsessed with Ladybug and her identity. The team doesn’t really notice, since it’s subtle and slowly becoming worse. So, now let’s start with the HC.
The Team protects Paris, Marinette is the leader
The situation becomes worse, the akumas take longer to defeat
They try to contact the JL, but nobody listens
And Chat Noir comes lesser to the fights, claiming his privat life is stressfull
At first, everybody understands, but it doesn’t stop and Chat becomes like a bad behaved child/brat
Lila causes another Hero Day, the Team almost looses. Chat Noir didn’t show up and the Team is angry. Chloé is ready to skin a cat
After the Hero Day, they accidentally reveal their idtities. Their group becomes closer, everybody can see, they work even better now.
Chat is envy
And Tikki is angry. No, scratch that. She’s mad. This boy could’ve been such a good cat, and now this?!
Since Plagg is her opposite, and she’s the one of Plagg, they keep each other in balance. And they aren’t in balance at all. She takes over Marinette (while she is Ladybug) and starts to rip Chat/Adrien in shreds
Whole Paris witness this and is terrified. Who knew Ladybug had such power?
Chat tries to save his face/life/’hero’ persona, but since Marinette is the guardian, she stripps him of his Miraculous, while Tikki wipes out his memories. Adrien’s former friends are sad, but also glad, they have one problem less
But now. Since Tikki used her more of her powers, some people notice, such as Klarion. He’s the server of chaos, but keeps in balance with creation. And the two aren’t balanced at all.
He talks to the Light, and surprise, surprise. Ra’s al Ghul and Vendal Savage felt it too
They begin to search and are surprised, that so many miraculous are active. The Light digs deeper and Vendal is very close getting up and burn Paris down. And take Hawkmoth with it
The inner circle of the Light (Vendal Savage, Klarion, Ra’s al Ghul, Lex Luthor, Deathstroke (there are still more members, but I will explain shortly))
Now, their primar goal is not to take over the world, or make everyone ‘see the light’. That’s what the ‘lesser’ members think (the ones, who are not in the inner circle) They want to keep the balance in the world, keep ‘peace’. But they know, it can’t be always peace, with creation there comes always destruction (Tikki and Plagg are totally their inspiration and mentors or whatever you could call that) And for this, they don’t always do ‘good’ things, like heroes do
Bc of this, every hero, every other villian thinks, that the light is bad. It’s a very good cover and so they can hide their true plans. So, the inner circle sends Black Manta after the Young Justice (the season 2 happens here) and go to Paris.
They find the miraculous users while fighting an amok and an akuma and are impressed. Clearly, most of them have no training and they hold themself formidable.
The inner circle talks with the team, which is wary. But then the kwamis recognize them and the teenagers (probably 15?) are so glad, that they finally have help. Not the one they expected, but still help
Vendal was one the first guardian, a simple man and then blessed by Tikki and Plagg. He trained other guardians and miraculous users until he almost died
Ra’s al Ghul was once a dragon, but also used the cat miraculous. This is the reason, why he can use the lazarus pit and isn’t mad
Klarion knows about the kwamis, the first gods, often makes rituals and such stuff. But he never saw a miraculous before
Deathstroke knows about the miraculous, but never knew, what power they truly hold
Lex Luthor knew about them too
The team is offered a traditional training with the League and since they are all true holders, they will master it faster than anyone before. Vendal wants to train Marinette as the guardian, after she finished hers with Ra’s. Deathstroke will be their mentor and Klarion will teach them in magic.
Lex takes them under his wing, teaching them about buisness, money, politics and manipulating
They train and fight Hawkmoth for two years. Sometimes, Vendal takes over as Chat Noir, sometimes Ra’s, to keep Marinette and Tikki balanced. But they need to find her true holder, which isn’t that easy, while they are still in training and fighting
The team is around 17/18, when they finally defeat Hawkmoth and Mayura. The major of Paris and the president of France tell the world finally the truth about the situation (world is shocked (especially when they hear, that the Justice League didn’t help))
Now, the heroes want to help, after Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Dr. Fate, as well Zatanna, kicked their asses for being dumb bitches. When Batman doesn’t stop (he’s an ass sometimes, but I don’t hate him) they threaten to leave the JL. He doesn’t belive it and suddendly he has 4 members less.
The four go to Paris, even when there is a heroes ban. They offer their alliance, but keep their distance, which everyone is glad.
Since Hawkmoth and his sidechick have been defeated, the Miraculous Team retires. Or so everybody thinks.
They all leave Paris, letting their friends and family think they have a job/go on vacation (Kagami and Luka fake their death, Marinette too)
Lila is smug, bc she thinks, she won, since Alix and Kim just leave and Chloé is a weeping mess
The six go to the League, where they learn new/more things and become the elite squad of Ra’s.
(Ra’s is totally a proud parent, who shows, how much his kids are better than anyones. Well, as good as he can with his stoic face)
The six still use their miraculous, but have new costumes (darker colors, mostly black)
And so life goes on, until the JL and the YJ attack the light. They take many hits, loose many bases and the first time, the heroes meet the squad
The six are just called ‘the squad’. They switch miraculous, so the heroes don’t make connections.
(Marinette is White (rabbit), while Chloé is Red (dragon), Kagami is Brown (monkey), Alix is Blue (snake), Kim is Scarlett (ladybug), Luka is Black (cat)) Over their costumes, they wear a typical League uniform.
They totally rip the heroes apart
Anyway. The JL and YJ are wary about the sqaud, they all know, they are deadly. Some think, even deadlier than Deathstroke.
After the attack, the squad meets Lady Shiva and Talia al Ghul
And her new pet project
You already know it. Jason Todd
His mind is fucked up, he doesn’t remember much until this woman in red smiles at him and just hugs him? Girl, this is the league?!
Jason is totally Marinette’s black cat.
He’s suddenly being trained (can you imagine a confused Jason Todd, trained by Vendal, Klarion and the rest of the team? Bc I do) and partnered with Plagg, who absolutly loves his new holder. There is so much chaos in him, he even survived the pit!
The squad goes on mission, mostly to mess with the JL, who notice, there is a new member. And oh shit- he destroys everything. And there Superman curmbles to ash... (no worries, he’s brought back)
Jason isn’t trying to kill Bruce, well, he still fights against Batman, but he doesn’t want him dead (the heroes think, the squad tries to kill them)
Some years pass (I have no idea, what happens in season 3 (Young Justice) since I didn’t have the time to watch it) the miraculous slowly become balanced again and the team is doing great
Until Talia snitches Bruce (bc she’s a little bitch) that Jason is alive. Not only that, he’s a part of the squad. Ra’s personally tries to kill his daughter- bc no Talia! You can’t just go and tell secrets! (silently crusing in many languages about the balance and how his own daughter betrayes him) He’s so angry, that he disowns his daughter and claims 7 year old Damian as his heir.
Bruce tries to hunt Jason down, but no success
Marinette takes Damian under her wing and gives him the miraculous of the tiger (Damian is so proud, that he’s a true holder). She and Jason become somewhat his parents, just like the rest of the team
Alix and Kim are totally together, as well Cloé and Kagami, while Luka has a on/off relationship with Lady Shiva, who is the true holder to the fox miraculous
Talia attacks the league, when Damian is 10 and takes him to his father
Damian hides the miraculous and Roarr, but Alfred knows. He always knows. (Totally cliche, but he’s the true holder to the peacock)
Damian acts like a brat like in canon, but can be such a softy
But only with his true family
Jason moves to Gotham, becomes the Red Hood, while Marinette becomes Scarlett (his partner)
The rest of the squad starts to recruit new holders and start to train them, often visited by Jason and Marinette
One tragic night, Batman fights against Red Hood, almost kills him, when Scarlett breaks his arm. Robin (Damian) comes to help, freezes, when he sees his family. He stops fighting, takes a deep breath and turns to his father.
Batman is confused, but then Robin says, that this is Jason, the second Robin and that he will not fight family
Batman lashes out, being an idiot, talking some nonsense about Jason being a criminal and suddenly Robin disapears. The big bat thinks, his kid went home
Well, he does, but not the Manor. He follows Jason and Marinette and sleeps a night there.
Then his father starts to search him (Damian) and finds him with Jason
Totally a fight there
Until Alfred comes and makes them to sit down and talk
Jason explains everything, telling Bruce, that the squad doesn’t exist anymore, bc of Talia.
He causally says, that Marinette is his girlfriend, that they somewhat adopted Damian, after Talia was banned.
Bruce tries to wrap his head around this, but slowly accept this new part of his family
It takes some time, but Jason (Red Hood) and Marinette (Scarlett) become a part of the Batfam
They lead the new Miraculous Team in secret, keep in contact with the inner circle of the light
This goes well, until Tim finds out.
Bruce lashes out again, bc what the fuck- his own child and his wife (they married) are spying for the light?! He tought they destroyes that damned organisation
Damian runs with them
They go to Nanda Parbat, where they meet the new recruits.
Now, every kwami has a true holder
Balance is perfect as it can be
Two years later, Bruce still tries to find Damian, in the hope, he isn’t with his older brother and his wife
He still is
Then Ra’s has enough of this drama, talks with the inner circle of the light and the kwamis
Kidnaps the batfam
Explains everything
Like everything
Slowly the batfam understands
Bruce is so proud that two of his sons are true holders, one of them literally can control chaos
The batfam starts to help the inner circle of the light, the other members think, this heroes finally saw the light
I can totally see the lesser memebers dumbfounded faces, when the whole Batfam shows up
Vendal starts to explain
“Batman was trained under Ra’s al Ghul himself, Batwoman followed.”
“Nightwing was trained by Deathstroke.”
“Red Hood was trained by Lady Shiva, Deathstroke and Ra’s al Ghul and is a former member of the squad.”
“Scarlett was trained by myself, Ra’s al Ghul, Lady Shiva, Deathstroke and Batman. She was the leader of the squad.”
“Red Robin was trained, like all the other Robins, by Batman. Lady Shiva took him under his wing for some time.”
“Signal was trained by Batman, Red Hood and Scarlett.”
“Batgirl was trained under Batman, Nightwing and Scarlett.”
“Black Bat grew up in the League and is the daughter of Lady Shiva.”
“Robin is my grandson and the son of Batman. He was trained under Scarlett and Red Hood, when they still were in the squad.”
(Did I forget someone?)
Gaping villians
But when Vendal says, that Batman will be part of the inner circle, as well Red Hood and Scarlett. they loose their absolute shit.
They fought the whole time with their allies??
Vendal then also says, that this will be the last meeting and they will all forget, that the Batfam is a part of the light
“Well... we can’t take risks, can’t we? We don’t want to repeat an incident with the Young Justice again... because of this, only the members of the inner circle will remember our prupose and the light itself.”
Batman then says to the JL, that he will leave the League, since this is going nowhere
The Batfamily is now officially a hero group and more loved than the JL, bc they don’t destroy much in their fights and if they do, Bruce Wayne pays. They keep in the shadows, which means, no civilians hurt AND many villians retire, when they hear, that Batman will fully remain in Gotham. They don’t try anything, bc he always seems to know
Okay... this is much more, than I acutally wanted to write and in the end, it didn’t came out as I first thought. But I hope you still like it, bc I like this version better
And it’s in the middle of the night, so if there are any mistakes... I don’t care :)

Hi again! I'm the anon who asked for headcanons about Jeff with a female s/o who speaks in monotone, has difficulties expressing emotions, has a very apathetic, cold personality, is also a killer, and the only thing that makes her smile is being covered in blood and killing her victims. I wanted to ask if I could get some headcanons about what the others (Slenderman, Jane, BEN, Laughing Jack, Eyeless Jack, Masky, Hoodie and Toby) think of her personally and how they treat her, if that's ok?
I usually only do up to 5 per ask so each creep will be a little shorter than usual!
Slender
He'll be wary, to say the least.
A lot of creeps in the manor are pretty fucked up, to say the least.
So he's going to try and keep his distance, like he does with the others that unnerve him.
He'll be nice and respectful, but he'll hightail it if you two are alone together, and confidentially always has somewhere to be.
Jeff always has crazy asf s/o's, so that just adds to the crazy, something he doesn't want to get caught up in.
He's not scared of her, but he'd rather not be around her in case she hasn't smiled for a while.
He's had...unpleasant experiences with humans of that kind of sort.
Aka he's been stabbed, shanked in the ankles, back-stabbed, and even one of his tendrils cut off.
Of course, he healed and his tendrils grew back...but it' the principal of it y'know?
But if he has to, he'll keep her in check at the manor. Other than that he enjoys all of the souls that follow her home after a killing spree.
Jane
Fucking???
New target acquired.
It just makes her hate Jeff more, and now she hates his s/o too.
She always thinks that he manipulates his s/o's into liking him, or blackmailing them.
But once she finds out his s/o loves killing almost as much as he does, it doesn't sit well with her.
Especially with how sadistic and morbid she is.
But she won't be able to get to her since Jeff is latched onto her side constantly.
All she knows is that she's a new threat that needs to be taken out before it gets out of hand.
She won't be afraid to throw some hands.
BEN
Like Slender, he'll be respectful but also try to keep his distance bc she creeps him out.
He'll prompt her to game sometimes when Jeff isn't there though, to at least try to get a reaction out of her besides 'meh' and 'stabby'.
Might try to spook her by poking his head through the wall, but ends up scaring Jeff instead.
He'll maybe pop in a security camera, or tap into a webcam to the house her gps is in.
Y'know, just to see how she works, and what the hell she looks like in 'the moment'.
He'll look after her when Jeff isn't around, kind of like a brother of sorts.
I mean, he and Jeff are practically brothers anyways, so he's going to be around probably more than she likes.
And he might prompt her with some tips of expressing her emotions when need be.
L. Jack (okay- lowkey?? Kind of ship them??)
Probably his new best friend?
It doesn't sit well with Jeff since LJ freaks him out.
He likes Jeff's s/o, and he's always finding different ways to annoy her.
He might even pop up when they're out on a spree.
He likes blood too!!
So he'll pop out of a victim's corpse and make it rain.
And then promptly offer some sweets to her.
He secretly looks up to her, and may come rushing to her side if she needs help with anything.
E.Jack
S t a r e
Kind of curious about her tbh
And her reactions to all the dumb shit Jeff does,
And why in the hell she's still with the dumbass.
He won't fuck around with her to scare her like he usually does to people but treats her with a little bit of respect.
Everyone else in the damn house is loud and annoying, unlike her who's quiet and couldn't give two shits about other people.
So, if he needs a break from everyone, he'll seek her out and sit by her.
But not too close, he's too anti-social for that.
Masky
He's not too fond of Jeff anyways, so he wouldn't like his s/o before even meeting her.
And once he does he finds her dislikable. Jeff, too, for that matter.
And on top of that, he's always quick to judge and then take a route from there.
But Slender is always sending either him, Hoodie or Toby to check up on people.
So he's forced to be nice when he doesn't want to be.
Which is a good thing, because if he was mean to her he'd either have to answer to Jeff or his s/o herself.
Both scenarios will not be pretty in the long run.
Hoodie
He tries his best to be polite.
But, really, he's with Masky on this one. (Lmao what's new))))))))
A lot of people who reside in the Manor are dangerous anyways, and she's no different.
Masky and Hoodie try to stay with the more chill people.
Aka The "Less-likely-to-stab-you-when-angry" people.
He'll talk to her if he's in a good mood, though.
And finds that he's more similar than he expected her to be.
He's quiet, she's quiet. He can't express himself, she can't express herself.
And many more things that make him realize maybe the creeps aren't so different from him than he thought.
Except for Jeff, of course.
Toby
Toby doesn't have much of a reaction to her, since he usually just goes with the flow of everything.
But he might ask her question about how she kills, just for a peek of the smile twitching at the corners of her mouth to make her a little happy for the day.
A curious but also thoughtful boi.
He likes seeing people happy, and shit, if that means ripping people open with a kitchen utensil, then you do you.
He won't press on if she doesn't react to certain things, or if she comes home looking like Carrie on prom night.
But he'll smile and wave to his friend, who smiles back for once.

why vivienne compared to leliana or cassandra?
this got long.
it’s a big fuck you to the whole concept of the chantry in general. a mage in the seat of southern thedas’ seat of power? oh my god they aren’t any better than tevinter after all! funny about that, orlais.
vivienne has been a part of ‘the game’ for so long, she’s like actually willing to use it to her advantage, whereas leliana has struck out on it several times and cassandra just doesn’t want to do it. celene could’ve honestly learned from vivienne if she wasn’t so enamoured by “weird dalish artifacts” and hiring morrigan lmao
yeah the last two were the left and right hand of justinia, but like... leliana was dipping in and out of kirkwall to see if they needed to send an exalted march at one point and was keeping an eye on things from a distance (and even varric says shes good at her job because she’s not emotionally involved), cassandra got her place bc dragons (remember that animated film? lmao what the fuck was that) and the whole seeker concept is just. they know how to reverse tranquility.
guess who gets access to secret official records? a mage. guess who would probably use that information in likely a more controlled environment because magic, instead of trial and error and fucking around with spirits? a mage who is fully aware of the attraction to spirits and demons that her magic has.
yes you can soften leliana again. i recognise that. i have a lot of grievances with leliana being bioware’s widdle baby angel (much like liara), but her hardened as divine is fucking baller and makes sense for her development. softening her was just such a weird concept to me so whatever idk man she doesn’t wanna take chances but does? leliana still hardened takes no chances in orlais.
leliana is literally so detached though as well and she doesn’t get what being a mage is actually like. and cassandra honestly hates magic up until like either you romance her or “wow you’re the only mage i know who is okay” part comes up. i mean she has more of a reason to not like them, i know, her entire backstory is literally shaped around politics and magic. i read the books, i watched the movie.
rivain’s circle was so successful because it remained open and accessible to literally anyone. including family members. it got marched on because the chantry didn’t fucking like that apparently. vivienne would know this. same with how she knows how the marchers work with their circles. she knows how the orlesian circles work.
bioware wants you to hate vivienne so much and they try to play it off as not pure racism on their behalf but they literally dress vivenne up as maleficent and then like hint the entire way through that she hates you and will betray you but if she gets mad at you? you know what she does? she cleans your room for you. gives you life advice, understands if you betray her in regards to the love of her life, and moves tf on. like. she also does like other forms and styles of magic and education. she is wary of people (solas) who take to the fade lightly, because that is what she has been taught. she has opinions on the dalish (as does literally everyone), and y’know what she is wrong. but she’s also not. i think people also need to remember that bioware retconned the fuck out of everything in dai and that her dialogue reflects those changes? so like naturally her first fucking conversation is highlighting that retcon.
it can also be a reflection of what she has been told about the dalish by circles like you have to also remember that no matter what, everything in the game hates dalish elves.
vivienne is prioritising education. look, fiona gets royally fucked over left right and centre and we get it. she doesn’t fit into anything more. she’s not warden enough. she’s not mage enough. she was grand enchanter, she also technically was part of the reason the mage-templar war kicked off (not anders, contrary to popular belief). fiona wants to do things at her own pace without the chantry breathing down their necks because we know how horrific the templars are in the circles (i mean. kirkwall??? alone???). vivienne leashes the templars under her control. cassandra ends up effectively prioritising them still, especially if you rebuild the seekers, and leliana just chops off a whole movement. people still hold grievances towards mages, no matter if the entire south of thedas came out with “ok only a small margin are bad like 1% but the 99% are honestly good people”. protection, controlled protection, is something.
especially to tackle something so deeply rooted into the south of thedas religion. she fucking recognises that it is the worst time to be a mage and that everyone else’s decisions have fucked up the majority’s livelihoods.
vivienne wants to give mages political power and advantage which isnt legally possible even when she was elected to work beside celene. she wants them to be more prominent in the societies they live in.
accessibility. the game doesn’t phrase it that way at all. vivienne doesnt remember her parents. like literally so many people in game comment how trevelyan was lucky/rich enough to be visited by family at ostwick. vivienne didn’t get that luxury at ostwick circle.
lyrium control. literally the biggest fucking market in the entire game that we only ever hear bits about, primarily in tevinter, but orzammar is right there hello.
she actually?? doesn’t trust?? templars?? idk where people came up with that. hello she grew up in the circles.
the game fucking sabotages her okay. bioware wants you to hate her So Damn Much. they want you to completely distrust her because she is a better introduction into orlesian society than what leliana could dream of being. even josephine gets it. orlais is the seat of power in the south and the game was based in ferelden. leliana’s approach would work in ferelden because they literally left everything up to a bunch of barely 20 year old fugitives in the end. orlais is disgustingly french and not in the ‘we are good at revolutions and leave guillotines around when we wanna make a point’ kind of french either. it’s all the worst parts. vivienne knows that.
#replies#hopefully the read more works lmao#anyway.... yeah. basically.#vivienne gets it???#its her life bro she knows what needs to be done for change#Anonymous

So everyone has their Golden Age of Piracy AU and listen I get it. I need Crowley swinging down as a pirate as she rips open the corset of Aziraphale to save her from drowning ala that scene from Curse of the Black Pearl.
HOWEVER Pirate Crowley and Aziraphale will come later bc right now I can’t get ineffable wives based off Stranger Tides out of my head. Stranger Tides was trash but honestly had one thing going for it and it was that mermaid and the priest subplot. - Crowley is the mermaid/siren here although honestly it works both ways.
- I mean Crowley as a priest losing her faith (or rather finding it in someone else) is V Good. Plus in case you haven’t seen it - that ending with the two of them:(”Forgive me?” LORD) but for the purposes of this post I’m going to keep it to one AU at a time.
- Aziraphale is the (nun I guess? Lady of the cloth) serving on a voyaging boat of the Royal Navy for REASONs. She would have been killed when they (demons-as-pirates) captured the first ship she was on, but hey wouldn’t you know she’s a bit of a bookworm and can translate some of these older maps and texts their touting around trying to find this hidden treasure. So for the time being she’s valuable but she’s also a captive now of the pirates, helping them find this fountain of youth.
- They know they need the tears of a siren to get to the fountain and book it to this location that Aziraphale was able to parse out from the maps.
- Anyways I said she was on this ship for reasons but honestly it’s cause her mother superior knew she was a bit of the odd one out and wasn’t all that great at falling into line. - So they tell her to go on this mission, spread the good word (I know none of this aligns historically all this will be backed up with research later when it’s not nearly midnight and I’m three ciders in)
- anyways until the pirates captured her she was honestly just fretting over whether or not she was doing the right thing (and tbh, maybe a little bored) bc if she’s not at home with her fellow sisters than who she is. - Like the whole reason the priest leaves for a voyage in the movie is bc he thinks he’ll find his faith again through the sea and wind but he ends up finding it in his love and if that doesn’t describe a theme of these two I mean really
- Anyways so they get to this lagoon where the sirens are supposed to be & Aziraphale isn’t sure what to believe yet, she’s a woman of faith but sea monsters are another thing entirely but she’s also seen things on this journey. Things like strange pirates with seemingly cursed bodies and magic items passed amongst the hands of the crew and she knows the Lord works in mysterious ways. but she doesn’t really want to think too hard on it.
- Just like she’s trying not to think too hard on other things.
- She’s left in a little boat off to the side of the lagoon (the pirates have been cruel but honestly they sort of leave her alone and it’s almost like a weird comfort of being back in the nunery where if she didn’t speak than no one would give her grief and it was just a fine, lonely, quiet existence)
- and while they’re sailing through those quite waters she sees something in the fog and just as it draws close enough for her to make out what it is it disappears.
- only for the shape of a person to appear right along side her off the edge of the boat and the only warning she gets is “Well YOU don’t fit the profile of the typical sailor.” - cue Siren!Crowley just hanging out and Aziraphale stunned/awed/internally gay panicking at this women/creature/God’s Gift just leaning on her little boat within touching distance. - Crowley just finds her amusing but also interesting bc what’s someone like her doing all the way out here.
- They find out some curious things about one another in their short introduction. - Like how Crowley is a siren and yes she does tempt men to their dooms but it’s just a job all right? Or rather, more in her nature. Supposedly. She brings up how it’s in men’s nature to be gluttonous and greedy, coming to the lagoon to steal things that don’t belong to them. - Aziraphale doesn’t know if she agrees but she knows within minutes that this conversation, this ease, is a missing piece she’s been looking for.
- they have one conversation along the edge of that boat and though she knows she should be wary, knows that all the pirates say how sirens drag men down to the depth of the ocean, Aziraphale doesn’t feel as scared as she should be. She doesn’t really feel scared at all. - even when the Siren gazes back with stunning, bright, yellow eyes with pupils more akin to a snake - of course it’s right after they have their chat that all this goes to SHIT bc the pirates come upon them and capture Crowley and are amazed Aziraphale was still alive. - Aziraphale hopes they’re going to release the siren right away but Crowley hears they need a tear and is just “fuck you, it ain’t happening” - So the whole gang now is on their way bc of course the pirates!demons just figure they can make it work when they get to the fountain. - Archangels are the Royal Navy in this but I gotta hash it out later. - Anyways the events of the movie would play out somewhat similarly with Aziraphale gaining more confidence along the journey esp. when it comes to defending Crowley. - and of course growing closer with her along the way. They’re from two opposite worlds and they shouldn’t trust each other but they DO ANYWAYS Anyways this is going to be split into a second post to map out before the fic comes bc this is too damn long.

A meta on Samahl's relationship with Falon'Din? And maybe also their relationship with Sulahn and Dirthamen?
send me a topic to write a meta about my muse on
(Read more for length)
Samahl’s relationship with Falon’Din is both a complex and simple thing. As a child Falon’Din simply did what he could for approval or comfort whenever given the opportunity, and he met Samahl during a period of extreme neglect. As such there was a very real chance that, should Samahl have been anyone else, that friendship could have ended up toxic fast. Even as a slave, with ulterior motives Samahl could absolutely have manipulated him into getting them things or doing things that they wanted him to do,regardless of Elgar’nan’s approval which could have made Falon’Din’s life so much worse.
However, Samahl approached the friendship on the terms of honest friendships. They never truly think about their relationship with him much, mostly because they’re a slave befriending their master’s child. In most any other camp/clan/etc that’d make Falon’Din their master as well, but here Elgar’nan treats Falon’Din almost as bad as the slaves so they’re not sure what to do. They do know they’re supposed to follow Elgar’nan’s lead, but if they don’t get caught then neither of them can be punished for breaking these ever changing “rules”.
As such, they do what comes natural or feels good and Samahl’s a caretaker by nature and Falon’Din’s always someone who needs taken care of. So they gravitate together well, Samahl providing comfort and care and love that Falon’Din’s receiving literally nowhere else and in return gets Falon’Din’s love and loyalty. They easily gravitate towards physical intimacies like cuddling and hair playing as children because they’re comforting and it feels good. This level of care and comfort is why Falon’Din’s convinced they’re his soulmate when they’re younger. Anytime Falon’Din learned something new Samahl was the first person he wanted to share it with, whenever he was sad it was Samahl he wanted with him. Samahl’s the only one to see him cry before Dirthamen. There’s a comfort and vulnerability there Falon’Din doesn’t easily get with others.
After realizing they’re not soulmates, however, Falon’Din does put a little more distance there, for fear of hurting Samahl. He doesn’t realize it, but he’s deeply internalized the idea that he’s only good at harm and destruction, so knowing he can hurt Samahl makes him wary of doing so again.Cuddling stops and for a while Falon’Din’s small affectionate touches tend to end up small apologies while touching the scar he gave Samahl. Samahl’s feelings for Falon’Din don’t change, however, and, at first, the new distance hurts their heart a little, convinced that Falon’Din’s going to cut them from his life completely because of one small injury. Once that fear is proven untrue, the distance hurts less and they settle into the new rules of intimacy with him. Falon’Din stops crying with them when he can help it, stops cuddling, starts second guessing as little as touching Samahl at times. Never flinches from Samahl’s touch after he’s gotten used to them touching him, but he’s less likely to touch them.
When Falon’Din runs away with Dirthamen, Samahl feels a hole in their heart for a bit. One of their oldest friends just up and left without a goodbye. They’re happy he got out from Elgar’nan but they miss him terribly. It changes entirely what they are and aren’t willing to believe about Dirthamen because they know Falon’Din and they know it’d take something incredible for him to up and leave everything behind to run off with someone he hated until that very day.
When they reenter Falon’Din’s life things are a little too hectic at first for them to really sit down with their feelings about anything or worry about how Falon’Din might feel about their return to his life. In retrospect, after camp’s moved and the three of them are settling down, Samahl’s concerned at the fact Falon’Din doesn’t seem happy. In fact, he mostly seems miserable different, and that’s the moment they decide they’re going to nurse him to happy if he lets them.
As such, they also spend a lot of time trying to get to know Dirthamen. They observe him and his mannerisms and his curiosity about Falon’Din and everything about him, they ask Falon’Din about him and how he feels about him and why they ran off together and what’s happened in the interim. From what they learn they quickly decide they like Dirthamen as he’s also a caretaker and very clearly taking care of Falon’Din as best he can. This is an opinion that never really changes. Samahl’s never really critical of anything Dirthamen does in relation to Falon’Din and figures most everything else isn’t really any of their business so they don’t stick their nose into it unless it’s effecting Falon’Din. (ex: when Ethial comes about Samahl might pick Dirthamen’s brain about it to better help Falon’Din understand that no really he doesn’t wish you were this at all.)
Their relationship with Dirthamen, however, I feel like is never more or deeper than mutually caring for and taking care of Falon’Din. There’s definitely a mutual respect and appreciation for sharing the load, especially since there’s some things Samahl can reach that Dirthamen can’t and vice versa. Dirthamen’s not the type to truly open up to others and Samahl’s not the type to pry or ask him to when he doesn’t seem comfortable with it. Instead they do their best to help Dirthamen by keeping Falon’Din well enough to help him instead.
Sulahn’s a very unexpected outlier. The majority of their relationship before finding out they’re soulmates, really was Samahl thanking her for hitting Falon’Din with the blunt truth to kick him into gear for improvement and civil interactions when they ran into each other at camp and that’s mostly it. And then they agree to try out being one of Dirthamen’s agents and she’s basically his boss and then they realize they’re soulmates so they have to try to learn about and get comfortable with each other but within the rules of this professional life which is weird and then they quit being an agent and they’re back on an equal footing and a their relationship shifts and changes a lot.
They do, however, respect Sulahn from the moment they first lay eyes on her. She’s pretty and they can tell just on sight that she Knows Her Shit. She doesn’t have to flaunt power, they know she could kick their ass and she doesn’t have to do anything to prove it. But they also learn that she cares. She’s got a deep enough capacity for love in her and they find that truly admirable given the work she does. They’re happy to find she’s as loyal to Dirthamen as they are to Falon’Din, if not more so, and they’re honestly relieved at that fact once they realize they’re soulmates because then they know she’s never going to ask them to choose between her and Falon’Din bc Falon’Din will come first and she won’t fault them for it.
They do not think they’re good enough for Sulahn, but that only makes them strive to be better for Falon’Din and thus better for Dirthamen by proxy, they do their best to help both twins in any and every way they can within everyone’s comfort levels. They love spending time with Sulahn and getting to know her and learning from her. They also come to love Dirthamen simply because Falon’Din loves him so much and they can see him through his eyes sometimes. They also don’t think Falon’Din’s good enough for Dirthamen at first, but definitely thinks they get there eventually. They’re excited to see Falon’Din and Dirthamen work together and flourish, they’re excited to see their relationship with Sulahn grow and develop over time. They’re happy to have people to care about and for, especially since they know and trust that Sulahn and Dirthamen will never ask much of them given that they know Falon’Din can be a right handful and thus know that often a lot of their time and energy can be tied up in him.

hi y’all! i have quite a few muses to introduce you to! i have a muse page that is partially done at the moment (the only bios/stat pages not done are dorian’s, leda’s and sebastian’s, and hopefully i’ll finish them by the end of the day), but i’ll give a super brief intro to each of my characters below! if you’re interested in plotting with any of my trashcan kids, please hmu bc i want to plot w/ all of you!
ainsley urquhart || 26 || arithmancer || neutral // death eaters (unwillingly)
ainsley basically peaced out from her family in her later years at hogwarts but has recently gained guardianship of her little brother upon her parents (mysterious) deaths? she’s actually v anti-DE but is trying her hardest to stay out of the war, though that doesn’t seem likely.
angelina johnson-weasley || 45 || semi retired quidditch pro || the order of the phoenix
angelina was a chaser and captain for the montrose magpies until her recent semi-retirement. she occasionally commentates or plays in charity games, but for the most part now her time is divided between her family and the upcoming war effort.
annette bardon || 17 || student (gryffindor) || the lightning insurgency
annette is one of gabby delacours children, a romantic who wears her heart on her sleeve but with a bit of a dramatic streak and an unpleasant temper once it’s eventually roused. very, very committed to the happiness of her friends and family. a bit of a meddler? a modern-day emma woodhouse, if you will.
declan hughes || 18 || floo tech || the order of the phoenix
dex is basically a lazy little genius, friendly enough but annoyingly snarky and a huge smartass most of the time. he’s got a good heart and is quite loyal to his friends, but isn’t the best at translating that into words. he’d rather be drinking or high than worrying about work or a career, tbh.
dorian shacklebolt || 25 || cursebreaker || the order of the phoenix
to quote hamilton: an american musical, dorian is the lancelot of the revolutionary set. a bit brash, a reputation for recklessness, and a strong moral compass, dorian is dealing with the death of his father as best he can while still trying to be there for everyone else in his life. he’s quite focused on avenging his father’s death right now, causing him to come down much harsher on any DEs he comes across.
hermione granger || 43 || head of the dmle || the order of the phoenix
1/3 of the infamous golden trio. let me get this out there: hermione is PISSED about a new war starting. she’s still grieving the loss of harry, one of her oldest and dearest friends, and she’s terrified of losing anyone else, particularly her children. still, she soldiers on like she always has, getting shit done. she is still the same brilliant, ruthless, lethal hermione that scarred a girl’s face in 5th year and left umbridge at the mercy of a centaur herd, though history has tried to rewrite her as the softer, least morally grey part of the trio----an underestimation she plans to use to her advantage to end this war however she can.
isaiah travers || 28 || deputy chief of the wizengamot || neutral
duty and obligation are a cornerstone of who isiah is as a person. dedicated to his family and the people he loves, he’ll do terrible things in the name of keeping them safe? isaiah allows his seemingly calm and passive facade to lull people into a false sense of security, making them think their actions will have no consequences, but be sure: if someone moves against him or his family, it’s not a question of if they’ll pay for it, but when.
jasper greyback || 21 || metalcharmer/welder || neutral
jasper was bitten at a young age and taken from his family, who were eventually murdered by fenrir in order to keep him in line. since then, jasper’s been wary of forming any sort of connection with anyone, for fear or what may happen to them, so he mostly keeps to himself, opposing fenrir when he can (and suffering for it).
leda krum || 17 || student (hufflepuff) || neutral
leda is a meta with a penchant for all things beautiful----her talent lies in charms and cosmotology of both the muggle and magical varieties. officially, she is a neutral side of the war, but can’t help but feel for the insurgency/order and wonder how she might be able to help them.
nadia zabini || 22 || unspeakable || neutral
how to describe nadia zabini? a terrifying force of a woman, nadia is smart, poised, and more than a bit lethal----in both a literal and figurative sense. raised primarily by her grandmother, nadia doesn’t really tolerate any sort of nonsense, and was well-known through hogwarts (and probably the ministry now, too) for giving someone a smackdown or two, whether it was truly warranted or not.
sebastian gamp || 17 || student (ravenclaw) || the double agents
sebastian is in some ways, a typical condescending ass who isn’t exactly out of place when you think of a ravenclaw’s perceived worst traits. he’s a smartass, a bit withdrawn but not afraid to offer colorful commentary when it amuses him. he joined up with the insurgency a while ago, and is seemingly devoted, but is actually being forced under threat to his family by the death eaters to join and gather information from them. his main target? lily luna potter.
valeria carrow || 17 || student (gryffindor) || death eaters
there is nothing about valeria carrow that is tame, tbh? short-tempered, spoiled, impulsive---but also passionate and bold, valeria does what she wants when she feels like it, is quick to anger or insult, and really, to some extent, will mess with people simply because she can?
xia pettigrew || 16 || student (gryffindor) || the lightning insurgency
xia does not enjoy living in the shadow of her surname, and despite her timid nature is doing her best to distance herself from the name her uncle peter made for himself. she isn’t sure why the sorting hat put her into gryffindor, as even the thought of confrontation makes her vaguely queasy, but she has a good heart, and plans to do whatever she can to make the world a better place.

The Rules for Lovers Chapter 11 (aka hell chapter) in GIFs
I usually write out my thoughts/reactions to a chapter as I go to make writing AO3 comments easier. However, it soon became clear to me that my reactions to chapter 11 are best expressed in GIF form, so I’m going to go ahead and post my comments here.
Thanks, @adreamingsongbird for ripping out my heart. I don’t need it to live.
Under cut for spoilers (and length).
So, first off, I see the minor character death tag. Chapter 10 has taught me to be wary of said tag.
Vicchan death in detail and Yuuri being grief stricken and confused over his loss and the loss of his MIL. Feels right off the bat. Okay.
“Please don’t cry,” Viktor whispers, barely audible. His grip on Yuuri’s hand could be a crucible. “I know it’s selfish of me to ask, but please. Or else I will, too, and…”
My poor heart. Why??? Poor man can’t even mourn the death of his mother.
You write grief and the grieving process with a finesse and nuance not usually seen in fanfic. "Grief is confusing and difficult.” Indeed it is, and you've captured that perfectly. I think your portrayal of grief was my favorite part of this chapter.
It is… very suspicious, to put it mildly, that a blood mage with no known health complications could suddenly succumb to a fatal heart attack.
Wait, so blood mages are aware of their own blood/health status? They can perform their magic and monitor themselves to the same extent that they can monitor others? I hadn’t thought about it before, but that’s consistent with how we’ve seen the other schools applied. Hm… then how did the baddies pull this off? It had to have been sudden. So the doctor(s) and/or baddie blood mages(s) had blood samples after all…probably? Then again...
Blood magic only works if the mage knows what’s going on and how to fix it, but Rani’s father has a strange, degenerative disease that’s progressing very fast and has yet to receive a proper diagnosis. How upsetting that must be.
I guess blood magic can’t be applied generally (either as a fix or as a diagnostic) and the practitioner must use a specific spell for specific injuries/ailments. How are illnesses diagnosed in this universe if blood magic can’t be used to do so (at least not always)?
So it is possible it was something more latent/insidious and Queen Nikiforova just didn’t have an symptoms or any reason to suspect.
I want to know how they pulled it off, darn it!
In all of this, Yuuri is his rock.
🎶 Here comes the sun suffering (doo doo doo doo) 🎶
The thought of the hours spent in the coronation ceremony, not to mention the damn meeting with Ivanovich afterwards...
Well, no good could possibly come out of this meeting, and scheduling it the day of the coronation screams ‘aggressive power-play.’ Something is afoot!
I’m bracing for impact.
He has to be strong—has to be strong for Mama.
OH. OH! THAT’S BELOW THE BELT. WHY?!?! WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO MY HEART?!
[At this point, my notes degenerated to mostly all-caps freakout and minimal speculation, so have some more GIFs to accompany my spazzing.]
“I believe it,” Yuuri says softly. “With all of my heart. You are strong, and when you can’t see it yourself, or when your strength runs out, I’ll be here to catch you and to hold you up until you can carry yourself again. Okay?”
...unfamiliar faces; they must be relatively new recruits...
Warning! SOS! Mayday! Mayday! Red flag! Red flag!
“Yes, of course. Well, you see, allow me to put this bluntly, son.”
Oooh, shit’s about to go down.
Yeah, about those guards…
"Did it not occur to you that we might have accounted for that, too?”
Argh! Did they slip him those elemental power inhibiting drugs somehow? But he’s using ice magic right now. Whats happening?!
~~two paragraphs later~~
Ah, good old-fashioned blackmail it is! (For now.)
[This is how I wished the scene would have gone down.]
They must have changed their plans—somehow, they don’t want Yuuri dead, which is good for the moment but bears further contemplating
Indeed it does. Oh boy…this is not gonna end well for Yuuri. Whatever this is, it is probably the impetus for Viktor delivering the “let’s end this line.” I am 99.9% sure it’s going to be him; it makes sense for his character (I’ll spare everyone a rehash of my long-ass comment on ch. 10, but it’s gonna be Viktor, damn it all).
Ivanovich has been hiding his magic at court for how many years now? And nobody ever found out? How long has he been planning this coup?
ARGH! I KNEW SOMEBODY--other than Yuuri--WAS HIDING THEIR POWERS! Bastard! But now I wonder if it’s ‘somebodies.’ We still haven’t accounted for the he/him pronounced blood mage.
And who at court is a willing follower and who is being blackmailed and can’t talk about it? Ahhhhh!
The interesting thing is that Yuuri employs the more sophisticated empathetic block that allows philological spells to function properly, so he might not notice philological spells being performed around him since it doesn’t interfere with his own magic. At this point, we don’t know much about this school of magic and the capabilities of its practitioners (other than the universal translator spell, the ability to keep people from talking, and that it’s based on intent, not technicalities, so [Viktor] can’t even try to be clever and go around it). It’s possible that Ivanovich has been pulling stuff right under Yuuri’s nose.
Yuri, on the other hand, is a much, much less sophisticated user of empathetic magic. My one hope is that Ivanovich tries to talk to him before he leaves (to begin the process of ‘winning him over’ to their side) and Yuri employs the general empathetic block Yuuri has been teaching him--the one that will interfere with philological spells. I know you put that scene in ch. 10 for a reason...
Plus, and this possibility makes his stomach turn, it’s generally known in the palace that because of their teatime, Yuuri was one of the last people to see his mother alive. There are nasty rumors he’s heard whispers of, just the barest of snippets, mentioned to him in Duchess Baranovskaya’s intelligence briefing yesterday—
OH NO. Are they going to try and frame Yuuri? That’s why they want him alive? To pull another Golovkina?
~~a very short time later~~
What if the reason Ivanovich promised him that Yuuri would be safe for now is that he wants to use those rumors to tear apart the alliance? Hell, if he frames Yuuri properly, it might even be enough to ignite a war—the prince from Hinomoto murdering Ruthenia’s queen? Outrageous!
Well... shit.
He has to do something about this. Yuuri, his precious, loving Yuuri, falling asleep in his arms, means the world to him. He can’t let them hurt his Yuuri—just thinking of him being arrested, brought to trial, and even executed for his mother’s murder...
OH MY HEART. WHY?!
...and i mean she was a blood mage, its pretty damn obvious she was poisoned even if we cant say it outright without proof...
Interesting that they (at least Yuuri) think it was poison. I know everyone likes blood mages because they heal, but is it that unusual to use blood magic for harm? This also makes me curious again re: what blood mages can detect about their own general health without applying very specific spells; it’s either nobody would suspect a blood mage or everyone assumes Queen Nikiforova would be able to detect and counteract blood magic foul play.
sp vitya bc phichit hes so so lonely and he never turns to anyone for help and he needs me!
And, of course, he’s going to distance his entire support system in order to protect the people close to him. Because Viktor. Damn it, Viktor.
one more thing goes wrong and ill just have 47583 breakdowns and die i guess
This is not going to end well. Good thing Yuuri is stronger than he believes himself to be; he’s going to need that strength.
There has to be a way around this, but he hasn’t found it yet.
Yuuri, or maybe even Yuri, would have the answer to that question (once they figured out Viktor was under a spell), but he’s going to send them both away. Because Viktor.
Mila has a feeling that he’s the only reason Viktor has been holding it together recently—he’s definitely the only reason she’s seen Viktor outside of court ever since the coronation.
Dun dun dunn.
Surely he wants to keep his allies close, especially now that Yuri’s leaving!
You’d think. But Viktor.
“I think being involved with your court has done enough for us,” Alina bites out. She looks scandalized a second later, shaking her head. “I—that was out of line. My apologies, Your Majesty. But I do not think I’ll be needing any assistance.”
Ah, so the ‘minor character death’ warning was for Captain Sharapova and not Vicchan. Should have suspected one of them was going to bite the dust when you hinted they were going to retire and have a family. Evil author ;)
Viktor is going to lose all his allies and the ones he can really count on he’s sending away. (And, of course, he blames himself for her death. Because Viktor.)
OH, GOD.. HERE IT COMES. DO. NOT. WANT.
He just knows he won’t survive seeing Yuuri executed for a crime he didn’t commit. The thought of those beautiful brown eyes filling with tears, of Yuuri’s hands no longer being warm and gentle but instead just cold and limp, of the way the court will rip him to shreds before condemning him to die... Viktor can’t handle any of that.
Noooooooooo. Poor Viktor!
“What?” he breathes. “I don’t understand—you want to break off our engagement? Why? What—was it something I did? I’m sorry, Vitya, I—but what about the alliance? I know I’m not—but we can’t just—please, please, talk to me, please,” and then to Viktor’s horror, he falls to his knees, his face crumpling with sudden, suppressed tears. “Tell me what I did wrong. We can fix this. Please, Vitya. If not for me, for the alliance. Please, my people—I can’t fail them now, just—just give me a chance, Vitya, please!”
Poor Yuuri!
Speaking of Yuuri, I wonder what clues he could have gotten from his empathy in this scene if he wasn’t too distraught to pay attention.
The thought of Yuuri, shackled, small and alone, having to face the wrath of the Ruthenian court, stops him in his tracks. He thinks of having to preside over that hearing, shudders to think of tapping that accursed gavel—
—but then, he realizes that he wouldn’t be presiding. Yura would be, through his regent—
—and that’s somehow worse.
DAMN. DAMN THAT’S DARK, RIMI. WOW.
“Wait,” he says, sniffling. “Wait. Vitya—Vityen’ka...”
ARGH. I CAN’T DO THIS ANYMORE. THAT ENDING SCENE. RIP MY HEART OUT WHY DON’T YOU?!
^RIMI
Okay, that was an excellent chapter. The writing quality was stellar. Don’t get me wrong, it’s usually very good, but I felt this particular chapter was exceptional; the language was powerful and emotional, particularly when portraying grief and the grieving process.
Now, this poor reader is going to go try that homemade chai recipe because I need some tea.
