I'm sorry, but something about what the other anon said about Logan kinda gave me the ick in some parts so I felt the need to write this. I think Logan's situation is no where as straight as a line as they made it out to be, and in part I feel like you kinda have to be American to understand certain things. I heavily agree with you on how the "Americaness" is pushed onto Logan. In my opinion, Logan isn't even all that American? Like he's very toned down (which makes sense as he spent the majority of his teenage years + early adult years in Europe, and not in America). Even then, why can't he be proud of being American? We see other drivers like Carlos, Checo, and Guanyu to just name a few use this same very tacit! Williams is no where near as popular as a team as it used to be, and Logan being American brings in more fans and sponsors. I think the huge personality change from now to Prema is also BECAUSE of the ridicule he faced for being American. Americans in general have this pre-connotation of being very cocky which was dragged along with him during his rookie season, and coupled with the fact that his first year did not go very well it's no wonder he's not showing his personality as much. The other anon honestly said it themselves, you only know American stereotypes. When has American pride became synonymous with being a Republican? I don't want to become very political, but I think the bottom line is don't really comment on another countries politics that you clearly don't know a lot about. Also the gun part? That's just plain rude. I don't think we've ever heard of Logan saying he even owns a gun. Once again, you're laying hurtful and may I mind you ignorant stereotypes on him.

I do agree with his family being problematic though (The long history of America and their oil wars), and their undeniable ties to Trump (who I also don't agree with and his many, plainly stated, evil policies), but I think you also have to realize that almost all the drivers are shitty people and have questionable backgrounds. To come after just Logan for his family ties to a party is just you being silly.

The whole ask just seemed very insensitive IMO.

Most of them, probably not wonderful people. Probably don't have wonderful families who I'd always get along with. But Im not cheering for those people, I'm cheering for car number 2 and that's really all I care about.

It always great to have some level of separation from the drivers, or celebrities in general, because a lot of them suck as people and I'm not about to get emotionally attached to someone who turns out to suck real bad.

• had to fight someone who overused their magic and let their negative emotions consume them (the overblot victims and the she-demons)

• the victim of the overused magic becomes the protagonist's friend

• both protagonists are tasked with uniting the people around them (twilight being the princess of friendship and Yuu being the "beast tamer"?)

There are no more heroes.

Well, okay. Rewind a bit.

Danny has been doing the hero thing for a while now. He’s had a big reveal; everyone has accepted him (including his parents), the GIW disbanded, the Anti-Ecto acts repealed, and generally, everything is going great. Some of the A-Listers are even training as junior ghost hunters to help give him a break from his rogues! (Being Ghost King makes things hectic sometimes, and he just needs the extra help. Sue him!)

The point is, literally nothing is wrong with Danny Phantom’s afterlife.

And then Valerie Gray, the Red Huntress, disappears in front of his eyes.

Danny is baffled! She’s just…gone! Valerie just popped out of existence, like she was never there. But no matter how hard he searches in the Ghost Zone, he can’t find her soul anywhere. His core isn't broken in grief. So she’s not dead. Which is good. So then, where is she?

Some of the others come forward with ideas on how to find her. A few ghosts volunteer to go out into the mortal realm, an area Danny had declared off-limits, to see if she was out there. Danny approves it. He rounds up some of the friendlier (i.e., discreet) ghosts and Amity Parkers and demolishes the outside travel ban.

So everyone spreads out, looking for their dear frenemy and teammate. But it becomes apparent very quickly that something is wrong with the rest of the world.

There are no more heroes.

Every single living superhero on the face of the Earth has just…vanished. Villains are running amok; the countries are in chaos! Some aliens are invading Earth, mythical deities are trying to take over, and society is crumbling to the ground. Everything is on the brink of collapse.

Well, Danny was still there. And so were his people. They were pretty spread out, so could they just…take up the mantles? He also knew where to find the souls of dead heroes in the Zone; surely they wouldn't mind coming out of retirement for a little bit, especially if they couldn't die again. Oh! And that skeleton army leftover from Pariah Dark's reign might be useful in repelling those invading forces.

Honestly, there were more than enough hands to go around! And with the heroes gone, Danny didn't mind letting everyone out for a little break, as long as they followed his rules. They wouldn't stop the search for the other heroes, but hopefully, when they found them, the heroes wouldn't mind Danny's intervention too much. :)

In other words:

Someone fucks up, and all of Earth's living heroes are either wished out of existence or are whisked away to some far-off realm where Danny hasn't checked yet. In the attempt to figure out what's going on, Danny lets the dead run amok over the Earth as they search for clues. The skeleton army repels the invading armies, the souls of dead heroes deal with the world leaders, and his rogues and other Amity Parkers set up shop in place of famous heroes, trying to get the cities under control again.

Basically, they just do their best to keep everything from imploding until the Justice League and others are back.

(And why is it that Danny hasn't disappeared? Well, whatever caused everyone to go poof! only affected living heroes. Anyone heroes that were dead in the first place, or even just half-dead, stayed behind.)

I'd somehow forgotten that tr!Owen's character intro did NOT show that he was a friendly jester.

He's starting to show his hand now, at least to the viewers. It's becoming clear that Jester Owen does not have good intentions towards the King and his kingdom.

He started slow by trying to push Clown out of the kingdom at the beginning, but wasn't able quite able to because of King Foolish's surprising diplomacy. I feel like he did manage to give some doubts to Archmage Clown though, about King Foolish's competency and decision making.

Then, Jester Owen almost single-handedly broke the tentative alliance that blue had with the kingdom when he picked a fight with faction leader Aimsey. He's also building walls and barriers, saying they're for protection but also further isolating the kingdom. Making it feel to other factions that it's Yellow vs Everyone. And it's working.

Now, he saw that tr!Ros was vulnerable because one of her closest friends had just died. A friend that he has actively spoken against, in front of Ros and other kingdom members. He watched, invisible, as Ros stood silently at Aimsey's grave. And, when he heard Ros drinking poison, full of enough hurt and grief to hurt herself to feel even a little closer to the person she's lost. He... took his chance. To jump in, not to help Ros or to make her feel better. But to push her away from the kingdom.

Firstly by blaming Ros for his own two deaths to Pangi, saying that they were because she wasn't there. Taking Ros's own trauma of being alone while being hunted, like she was after the king's death, and making it about himself.

Then by casually dismissing Aimsey's death. Insinuating that it is a good thing, that Ros now has less distractions outside of the kingdom. Almost, but not quite, blaming Ros for Aimsey's death too! By saying that Ros being friends with a different faction member "led to them dying".

Ending the conversation by saying that, if Ros doesn't feel like she belongs in the kingdom, he can't hold her back. Knowing full well that he has made sure, that she doesn't feel that she belongs.

Jester Owen is trying his best to crumble the castle from the inside. Trying to isolate the King. For what reason? Who knows. But it's going to be very interesting to see where this is headed

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Ellen’s sex scene with Thomas is weird, unsexy, frantic, fully clothed and disturbing, while Ellen’s sex scene with Orlok, literal corpse, is slow, detailed, sensual, and they are both naked. The juxtaposition.

regardless of how desperate both Ellen and Thomas may be to conform to their socially acceptable marriage (they're both distinctly queercoded, Ellen wants passion, Thomas cannot give it, both of them see each other as a duty), they still do not and cannot understand each other. Ellen, who comes from a wealthy but abusive home, cannot imagine prioritizing material success over love and connection; Thomas, who self-deprecatingly refers to himself as a "pauper," cannot imagine ostracizing himself so completely from the society that very easily jeopardizes the livelihood of anyone non-conforming. There is a distinct lack of intimacy between them, only partially breached by anger and confrontation; which is, indeed, illustrated by their fully clothed, aggressive scene. It is more of an argument than sex.

Ellen's death-wedding with Orlok is entirely different - as you said, slow, sensual, reverent; it centers their closeness above all. They cling to one another, both overcome with emotion (self-professed inability to love be damned), perfect living skin against rotting flesh; the visual implication here is that there is, quite literally, nothing between them. They know each other entirely, the flaws, the beauty, and that understanding is more important than their own life or death.

One is a sex scene that is actually a fight, the other is a lovemaking disguised as murder, and I am obsessed
