My appreciation for iris and ota as characters increases every time I play aitsf like I think the side characters in aini are more likable but they don’t have as much depth cuz you have to remember them in all these different points in time and their different relationships with all the protagonists and it gets really wishy washy but in the first game it’s just like. Here’s iris and ota, they’re fucking annoying and sketchy as hell. Please spend all your time with them 🥰

Catching up on campaign 3 finally. And Sam jokingly telling Laura “you’re the main character”. Laura immediately being like “don’t say that! don’t say that”. But like isn’t she? Cause she feels like it. And Taliesin, way early even said that they were a party of npc’s except for Imogen.
And I’m not Imogens biggest fan, I have a lot of trouble getting very invested with many of the c3 characters, but Imogen always feeling so centerstage is definitely one of the reasons why I have trouble with her.
It’s not Laura’s fault, but it’s definitely a lot of things surrounding it, like Fearne being Ruidusborn but it rarely getting mentioned and nothing being done with it. Why make her ruidusborn then? FCG also has had to put some stuff sideways for the whole arc now that while it involves so many people, like Fearne, like Orym, just keeps being focused on Imogen and sure it’s a big part of her backstory, but it’s not only about her, and people seem to forget that at times.
And we’ve barely seen anything about Ashton, Chetney only had a small part. And I know Chetney will get more in the coming episodes, FCG probably too, but the others aren’t really.

on one hand I wanna write my fic ideas wherein my marvel oc gets sent to the alternate universe of Gotham and hijinks ensue whilst she tries to survive and get back and the batfam and such slowly learn more info abt her world and how it's being threatened atm and she needs to go back and help and whatnot.
But on the other hand, the readers wouldn't know the marvel related backstory of this OC and would have. No context for her going in
But ALSO then the readers would know abt as much abt this mysterious figure as the batcrew do, and get to learn via flash backs and her slowly revealing info to them as safety allows
Then there's also just a general. Idk if there's any sort of oc etiquette when it comes to writing oc centered fics? My brain goes so hogwild when I read anything that I usually avoid oc fics other people write just bc I usually read and enjoy fics at face value but I also go "now what would happen if this OC was here?" And that gets real complicated when other people's ocs are involved

i love when songs make me think :' )) bc it occurred to me that aside from maybe her family members, chiyo's probably never?? really spoken about kojirou to anyone, and if she has, it was the bare minimum. like her relationship ended with him in high school, he moved away, and then chiyo never spoke about him again, which wouldn't be totally unusual if it wasn't for the fact that the way that relationship ended continued to impact her as she grew older.
chiyo's issue with kojirou was that while they had great chemistry and understood one another really well, chiyo was still just a kid. kojirou was just a kid. love was this big and scary concept that kojirou wasn't afraid of but wasn't ready for, and chiyo was terrified and not ready. love meant fully opening up to the possibility of getting hurt; love meant forever, in her mind; love was too much to ask of her at a time when she was still growing used to the idea of being wanted in the first place, still recovering from years of feeling unwanted and troublesome.
the fact that chiyo never talks about kojirou means that she can't move on and heal from that experience. just bc she couldn't love him doesn't mean she's incapable of loving someone else, and it doesn't mean that she's going to ruin future relationships. chiyo has a mindset of, " of course i'm the problem. i always make things difficult, " and that stems from being bullied and needing so much attention from her family and from her relationship with kojirou. she doesn't place any fault on the guy who told her he loves her right before moving away :' ) like what was even the point ko :' )
i sure am rambling asdfg but all of this is to say!! make chiyo talk about ko. make her talk about why she hasn't been in a relationship since high school. make her talk about something hard that she avoids and ignores bc that's what she'll always do unless it's pulled out of her :' )
