So I've been thinking about Billy Batson (as one does). Specifically that one post about "why doesn't he just lie" about his secret identity.

So, imagine, 9 year old street rat billy batson celebrating his birthday, looking forward to taking some home made chilli from the watch tower to his little apartment and singing himself happy birthday. He gets accosted by leaguers who won't stop pestering him about his identity (he's still pretty new to the league) and, as 9 year old do, he gets annoyed and tells them to go away so he can celebrate his 9th birthday in peace. Of course, this gets more questions asked.

So Billy lies.

What does he come up with? He's an alien. From a short lived race. He became an adult at age 2. The life expectancy is 13, at most (13 is so far away. Its basically an impossible number. He's a street rat. He won't live that long.)(Think the ocampa from star trek)

And then he leaves and promptly forgets.

His coworkers do not.

Time jump 4 years, new foster home, and new siblings later and he's coming up to his 13th birthday. The justice league have started walling on eggshells around him, asking if he needs more time off. Offering him their seats if there's not one left. He thinks it's odd, but just goes with it.

He's going through puberty. He starts to mellow a little and gets grumpy. He's starting to forget things from his childhood, as all teenagers do.

Just, the misunderstandings. The angst. The confusion.

It'd be great.

Also, combined with that "eldritch captain marvel" post where he doesn't really need to breath or ant of that because he's made of magic. Say he falls asleep one day and just stops unconsciously doing the "alive human" thing.

I thought of billy with just naturally pointy ears cause of the whole magic stuff, so he looks like an elf or mage if you will, I added more moles cause mexican >:], and a bandage because he's reckless sometimes and I wanna show that in this design!! This lil guy never let's me go (thankfully) LOLL, I'll definitely try to draw a cleaner version of this billy but this is really just a sketch!!

It was a sudden squeal, almost as if you'd been holding it back for a while. Not to mention, the walk back to his place had been comfortably silent the whole time before, your hand in his with both stuffed off in his coat pocket in order to shield them from the cold, winter weather.

Although, the squeezes you would give occasionally should've been somewhat of a warning sign. Billy just figured it was a silent, "I love you" of some sort, returning the action every time with butterflies in his chest that kept him warm.

He never would've guessed them as a sign for an incoming fangirl moment. And so, to be sure...

"What thing?"

Not that he wasn't genuinely confused, of course.

"Ya'know... the thing that I like?"

He looked down at you, met with your beaming smile back up at him that brought on one of his own. Still unsure, though, merely repeating the words you had jingled to him all of the sudden back to you in a tone of skepticism.

"The thing you like?"

"Yeah!" You chriped, waiting for him to catch on excitedly, only to be mildly disappointed when that moment never came and he shook his head in dismiss.

"...I don't know, I'm still lost."

"Billy, noo..." You whined, nudging him a bit with your side as the walk continued. "Pleaseeee?"

"What thing?!"

And before you could fully explain yourself, you saw a look in the emerald of his eyes that told you he was faking, the boy having caught on by this point and leaving you to huff and turn away.

"...Stop, you know what I'm talking about, you're just being mean."

Deep chuckles came from his chest, Billy nodding to himself in amusement after you had realized he was teasing you. And, because it was in his nature, he continued to do so until you would ask properly.

"You're right, I do know. I just wanna hear you say it."

"Mncht." You clicked your tongue but didn't give in to the vexing feeling of your boyfriend complicating the process, keeping strong at your pleads in hopes to simply just wear him down.

"Billyyy...please do the thing? Please?"

"C'monnnn..." He urged, nudging his shoulder with yours, and was satisfied with the roll of your eyes and his implied directions followed.

"Hmff... Can you pleaaase say the word? Please?"

"You want me to say the word~?" He repeated, this time with a tone of flirtatiousness that you willingly succumbed to, snuggling up to his arm almost too cheesy for your own liking as you gave an eager, "Yes!"

"Mmm, I dunnooo'..."

This boy and his need to taunt, you swore, would be the death of you...! And yet, it was charming enough for you to let it slide.

No, he was charming enough for you to let it slide. Shaggy brown hair and gorgeous green eyes and those cute dimples whenever he flashed you that winning smile...

Plus, you had been on the verge of geeking out the whole day out with him. Your boyfriend is a superhero for Christ's sake! Of course you'd want to randomly see the magic of it all from time to time! And it's not like you ever knew him to shy away from amazing you whenever he could. So...

"Please-please-please with a lot of maraschino cherries on top?"

Billy laughed at your specifics, already in the midst of guiding you towards a secluded area away from crowds and bystanders.

"Okay, okay, but only because you asked so nicely."

"Yes, yay-yay-yay...!!"

Your cheers and giggles of excitement went hushed by your own hands, waiting in anticipation as Billy took some safety steps back away from you and gave one last look around the area. When he was sure he was in the clear, he granted you your wish. Did just as you asked...

He said the word...

"SHAZAM!!"

...and with a thunderous crash of lightning and a blinding light for only a moment, he was transformed into his older, super-self, and you were laughing wildly through jagged gasps of amazement.

"AHAHAHAHA!!!"

A little bit of a crazy laugh, you'd admit later, but not the point-

"Yeah? How was that?!" Billy-... Shazam asked, his arms spread wide open as he walked closer to you.

"Super loud and scary!" You squealed, hopping around like a little girl who was seeing a fireworks show for the first time, the glowing emblem on his chest casting you and the entire alleyway in gold.

"Yeah?!" Shazam nodded in confirmation with a grin just as wide as your own.

"But it's so hot!!"

"Yeah, it is...!"

Billy's ego? Boosted.

Your fangirl levels? Off the charts.

Hotel? Trivago.

"Okay, now do it again, but back to you-you." You demanded requested, doing a small spin move with your index finger while Shazam dropped his arms to his side.

"Dude-"

"-Please?" You cut before he could provide any light scolds or reasons as to why he shouldn't. You were his girlfriend, and you were so cute looking up at him, expecting to see her boyfriend, now, and not some grown man version of him she... liked... but didn't truly care for.

"...Okay."

"Yay!" You clapped, moving yourself back this time to avoid a second lighting strike.

"SHAZAM!!"

And with that, he was back to himself, your Billy Batson, standing with his arms still open in hopes he'd impressed you the way you had assumed he would.

And god, did he go above and beyond.

"AHAHAHA, YOU'RE SO COOL, I LOVE YOU!!!" You nearly screamed, voice rasping over from the sheer amount of pressure you were putting on your throat.

"I love you, too! C'mere...!" He laughed, admiring your excited figure and the way you were already running towards for him to catch you in his arms in a warm hug.

It lasted for longer than you both expected, but was clearly needed as you enjoyed each other's presence and touch.

"You know what you reminded me of, lowkey?" Billy murmured, no need to be any louder when he was right by your ear.

"Hmm?" You hummed, face pressed into the crook of his neck, cold nose tickling his skin.

"...Do the roar."

You pulled away very slowly. Your face went about as cold as your feet were right now, staring deep into Billy's eyes with a look of pure disbelief.

He stared back. Grinning, head nodding as if to say, "Yeah? Right?" like a puppy.

"You know what?" You hummed gently, returning the smile softly while your vision trailed his features and then down to his chest.

"Yeah?"

You pointed directly to his heart.

"You...are amazingly talented..."

":D!?"

"...at ruining nice moments between us."

":0..."

You nodded, satisfied with yourself at the light tease.

"Mhm, yeah :)."

"Come on, Billy. Just let me try it. It will only only be for a little bit." You begged.

You had discovered that Billy and his adoptive siblings were superheroes. They had the power of gods and could change into adult form by saying the word: Shazam!

Now, you wanted to see what it was like to be a superhero. The feel of it and everything. The fact that Billy could share his powers was even more reason of you to ask him for a trial run.

"I don't know, Y/N. It could be dangerous." Billy said.

"Please? Just this once." You beg, giving him your puppy dog eyes. You knew that he could never say no to your puppy eyes, and you were right. Billy caved. "Okay, fine, but only this one time." He held out his hand for you to take. "Say my name."

"Billy!" You say.

"No. Say the name I say to turn into the big guy. You know?"

"Oh. Right, right. Okay. Umm...Shazam?"

There was a clap of thunder and a powerful blast of lightning as you felt transformed. Every part of your body felt bigger and stronger. Supercharged. Like every cell in your body was vibrating at a powerful frequency. You walked towards Billy's mirror and were shocked to see the person staring back at you, wasn't you, but an older man. Handsome and strong.

"Dude, it worked!" You said. "I'm so freaking tall! And look. Look! Yellow! I'm a fucking yellow magical wizard person."

Billy smiled at you. "Dude. You look so damn hot! I could kiss you, wait, I didn't mean it like that." He blushed.

alright. now seated for David F. Sandberg's Shazam! (2019). i am definitely excited to go into this having now seen Lights Out (good movie, if a little standard, his letterboxd review for it makes me laugh) and his Annabelle movie (it sucked, i'm sorry, David, but that wasn't really you, the script was just godawful) and some of his shorts on YouTube (i do love how accessible filmmaking is now btw, genuinely fucking cool that a filmmaker making horror shorts on YouTube could end up making one feature film and go on to make a movie in one of the biggest horror franchises and then a superhero movie for one of the biggest superhero franchises, like i'm genuinely so proud of David), excited to see what he does with it. i remember really enjoying this movie when i saw it in theaters, and thinking it was the best thing in the DC would ever make (until i saw Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) so, i'm excited to see how it holds up! especially now that i've seen every movie preceding it.

also, does make me laugh that this is now the second movie in a row where DC has hired a horror filmmaker (James Wan's Aquaman was fucking amazing, genuinely incredible himbo cinema) to make a superhero movie and both of these movies are like some of the best shit DC has funded.

Villian still monologs *but starts to get nervous*: You act like your one of them, worth something. But really your still that abandoned child nobody wanted! Billy unaware he's starting to glow with lightning around him: you hurt my family(shazam family)

Villian starts to back away in fear as this child, this teen boy sparking and glowing: Y-you can't win! You're nothing!I brought you to your lowest point!

Billy eyes starting glow: you almost killed my boyfriend(Freddy Freeman) and keep making fun of my body(tranmale Billy headcanon)

Villian backs into the wall almost tripping: *looks up to the sky to see lighting flashing between the clouds over head* Y-you what are you doing?! How are you doing that!!

Billy Batson his voice echoing with ancient power: I may be a kid, a teen who has idea whats he's doing. But I am the champion! The wizard picked me! I was chosen to weild the power of the gods.Shazam!*lighting flashes down and hits Billy. Even before he fully transforms he pulls back a vist that flashes with lighting* Villian in disbelief of his power: Just what are you!?

Sometimes I think of random lore for stuff and I’m like, “Wow, wish they did something with this so my mind didn’t have to doodle in the margins”

Anyway, the Eye of Sin

As we know it, conduit for the Seven Deadly Sins and all currently, has been around just for n52. It kinda came in the 2016 Shazam run but got slightly changed in the 2019 movie.

Anyway, where did it come from? The sins escaped and made their ruckuses by escaping their statues already, what makes the Eye special other than the possession it can bring? Why does it need a socket to nestle into to release the Sins?

Well, I got an idea thanks to the Titans comic where, after imprisoning Raven in the RoE, Neron gives Captain Marvel a set of cursed eyes that make him see people as demons that he believes he has to kill because he doesn’t have eyes without Billy. His sockets are just empty with leaking lightning magic without him when they’re split.

My idea is that way back in the day, when the Council was making their first Champion, they didn’t tether him to a human and made false parts for what he missed. One of them made him a set of glass eyes to use as real ones so he could perceive the world, but it wasn’t just physical parts Living Lightning was missing. They weren’t human, they weren’t at all mortal like the Wizards or the human they were to protect, just a shell with boundless magic. Obviously someone would abuse that and take their chances, and the Sins did, they took that empty vessel of power and made it their first Champion, but they could only tether themselves through one of the eyes.

So the Wizards destroy their creation, plucking its eyes out and scrapping its form until they could find someone alive and mortal able to hold the power, someone the Sins couldn’t corrupt (hence the Pure of Heart, Strong of Spirit stuff)

So what do they do with the Eyes? The one holding the Sins is locked away in the RoE, the spare is destroyed or hidden separately, some power of their unstable Champion still held inside but too dangerous to use again.

Idk man, just missing lore that seems so interesting to me in what they could do with it
