Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009, Shawn Levy)
23/12/2023
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is a 2009 film directed by Shawn Levy.
The film, starring Ben Stiller and Amy Adams, sequel to the film Night at the Museum, was released in cinemas on May 22, 2009 in the United States of America and in Italy. In 2014, its sequel entitled Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb was released, which once again saw Shawn Levy directing and Ben Stiller as the protagonist, alongside Robin Williams.
Two years have passed and Larry Dailey has left the Natural History Museum, where he worked as a night watchman, and entered the business world, becoming a major entrepreneur with his Dailey Devices. One day he returns to the museum driven by memories and discovers that all the wax statues will be packed up and transferred to the federal archive of the Smithsonian museum and replaced with interactive holograms. The only pieces not to leave the museum will be Teddy Roosevelt, Rex, Pharaoh Ahkmenrah and his magic board and some of the more popular characters.
The next evening Larry receives the phone call from Jedediah, the little cowboy, very scared: the capuchin mobkey Dexter, the night before, stole Ahkmenrah's table and everyone has come back to life in the Smithsonian, but they are held hostage by Ahkmenrah's evil older brother, Kahmunrah: the world's largest museum has come to life.
Larry decides to sneak into the museum archives and meets the proud and childish Kahmunrah: a series of clashes ensue in which, among others, George Armstrong Custer (who turns out to be just vain) and Amelia Earhart (ante litteram feminist) intervene.
The evil Kahmunrah then allies himself with Ivan the Terrible, Napoleon Bonaparte and Al Capone to then kidnap little Jedediah, who had facilitated Ottavio's escape from their prison, and lock him in an hourglass: in this way he forces Larry and Amelia to find the combination to be placed on the table, with which he wants to open the doors of the afterlife and unleash them on the world. Thanks to the help of a series of Einstein bobbleheads, the combination is found and the doors to the afterlife are opened from which bird demons arrive. In the meantime, Ottavio has asked for the intervention of the enormous statue of Abraham Lincoln, which sweeps away all of Kahmunrah's soldiers, who flee in panic and return to the afterlife.
Ben Stiller is Larry Dailey: Two years after the end of the first film, he abandoned his job as a night watchman at the Natural History Museum, founded the company Daley Devices and invented the Glow Flashlight along with other products. He returns to the museum and discovers that some artifacts had been moved to the federal archives of the Smithsonian museum and at this point he will have to deal with the evil pharaoh Kahmunrah.
Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt: he is Larry's best friend.
Amy Adams is Amelia Earhart: she is the wax statue of the famous pilot who flew over the Atlantic Ocean.
Hank Azaria as Kahmunrah: He is the main antagonist of the film.
Owen Wilson as Jedediah Smith: he is the main tritagonist of the film.
Steve Coogan as Gaius Octavius: The Roman general undertakes a rescue mission to free fellow cowboy Jedediah, who has been placed in an hourglass by Kahmunrah.
Mizou Peck is Sacagawea: Due to her transfer to the federal archives of the Smithsonian, she is forced to separate from her beloved Teddy Roosevelt but at the end of the final battle she returns home together with the old exhibits and sees the president again.

Wrestling With Sin: 479
Wrestling With Sin: 479 featuring Shawn Michaels, Tracy Smothers, Bruiser Brody and more....
Brian Damage This is the 479th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching…

HOW OLD ARE WE?
There was recently an article in “National Geographic” about how most “advanced” societies are aging. This is true especially in Japan, the “oldest” society, but it’s true throughout much of Europe and definitely in these United States. It was inevitable. I remember when I was young and we were officially defined not only as the “Baby Boom” generation, but also as the largest generation to ever…

The Faculty of Humanities and Education, at the UWI St. Augustine Campus, is pleased to host the art exhibition “A Whole History Still.”
The event commemorates Trinidad and Tobago’s 60th anniversary of independence.
Featuring work by 14 artists, the exhibition asks: How much do we know about ourselves? The show’s title, taken from an essay by Trinidadian intellectual Lloyd Best, suggests we still have work to do in assessing and making sense of who we are. There is a whole history still, a broader picture for us to see and understand. “A Whole History Still” emphasizes the ongoing work of knowing ourselves—a people who are part of a story that reaches a long way back, and projects into the future.“A Whole History Still” opens at the Rotunda Gallery, The Red House, Port of Spain, on Monday November 7, and runs for two weeks, until Friday November 18.9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday10am to 6pm, Saturday November 12

Roy overhears some banter on the radio
“Fuck Jennings, Marry Lewis, and Kill Shawn.”
“You’re killing Shawn? She’s like the only one that has real tits in this conversation.”
Roy inhales sharply and Ed throws his head back, laughing so hard that it drowns out the next part of the conversation over the radio.
“Okay, my turn. General Armstrong, Grumman, or Mustang.”
“I’m straight, remember?” “Don’t be a pussy.” “Fine... fuck Armstrong for obvious reasons.” Another pause. “Marry Mustang because he has money-” “They all have money, they’re the same rank, stupid.”
“Yeah but I have to put Grumman in kill because I’m not fucking him and if we get married, I’m going to have to wipe his ass when he can’t because he’s so old.”
“But you wouldn’t marry Armstrong? Then you could have sex more than once.” “There’s no way I could be married to her, she’s bossy.” “And Mustang isn’t?”
“Yeah but I wouldn’t have to have sex with him, just married to him.” “You’d still have to deal with him being bossy even if you’re married. Why wouldn’t you choose Armstrong because she’s bossy but still FEMALE so you could at least have sex.”
“Lamkin just wants to fuck General Mustang, I don’t know why you’re all piling on him.”
Roy quickly shuts the radio off. Ed is laughing so hard that his face is turning pink and Roy has to bite the inside of his cheek so he doesn’t laugh as well.  “I,” Ed has to stop to take a breath between laughing, “I will pay you 50 cens if you call that guy into your office on Monday.” “Is it really so hard to believe that people find me physically attractive?”
“No,” Ed swallows to keep from laughing again, “but you’re bossy.”

Outkast’s Big Boi, EDM artist Zedd, U.K. band Nothing But Thieves, Norwegian artist Aurora, rapper Hanumankind, guitarist-composer Cory Wong will perform in Mumbai on March 8 and 9, 2025
Anurag Tagat Sep 10, 2024
American punk-rock heroes Green Day, pop artist Shawn Mendes, U.K. hitmakers Glass Animals and singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson are among top-billed acts making their India debut at Lollapalooza India 2025 in Mumbai, between March 8 and 9.
The lineup for the third edition of Lollapalooza India also includes rap veteran Big Boi from Outkast, U.K. band Nothing But Thieves, Norwegian pop artist Aurora, electronic artists like Zedd, John Summit and Alok, American guitarist-composer Cory Wong (known for his work with acts like Vulfpeck), breakout rapper Hanumankind (also our latest cover star), South Korean indie rock band Wave To Earth and rising pop artists Isabel LaRosa and more. Folk-indie singer-songwriter duo Lullanas – comprising Indian-origin siblings – will also make their India debut at Lollapalooza India 2025.
More Indian artists adding heft to the lineup include singer-songwriter Dot., rappers Raftaar and KR$NA, Punjabi artist Talwiinder, sitarist and fusion artist Niladri Kumar, pop artist Lisa Mishra, rock artist Raman Negi, Ahmedabad rap favorite Dhanji, producer Spryk, pianist-composer Sahil Vasudeva, DJ-producer Anushka, multi-instrumentalist-producer Sid Vashi, singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle and indie multi-instrumentalist/producer Sudan.
The announcement in September makes for meme-friendly news for Green Day, known for songs like “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” The band announced their India debut on Instagram and said, “Another first for us!! India, you’ve been calling our name… and it’s finally time to answer. We’ll see you in Mumbai next March for @LollaIndia.” The trio comprising Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool released their most recent album Saviors in 2024 and will likely dig into all-time hits like “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),” “American Idiot,” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and more. Shawn Mendes, known for hits “In My Blood,” “Treat You Better” and new single “Why Why Why,” returns to the live stage after more than two years on his current tour, which includes Lollapalooza India.
Louis Tomlinson, who has a big following in India following his time with pop group One Direction, will also make a long-awaited India debut. Fellow Brits Glass Animals are a big draw on the back of releasing their new album I Love You So F***ing Much in July, but primarily due to their 2020 hit “Heat Waves,” which was the seventh-most streamed song in India on Spotify in 2022.
Glass Animals founder Dave Bayley – who visited India as a 16-year-old – told Rolling Stone India in 2020, “Thank you for the support, I hope you are staying safe and healthy. We can’t wait to come and visit.”
In a wholly new strategy, Lollapalooza India’s 2025 lineup is out six months in advance of the multi-genre festival taking place in March. BookMyShow Live also took a similar approach while announcing the lineup for their festival Bandland, which is taking place on Nov. 23 and 24 in Bengaluru.

10 characters/10 fandoms/10 tags
tagged by the amazingly talented @aeide!
Kassandra (AC Odyssey): Let’s be honest, did anyone who follows me expect anything else? In a game full of amazing characters I adore, she will always reign supreme in my heart 🩷
Mimir (God of War): I love you and your stories, you funky little head.
Percy Jackson & Annabeth Chase (PJO): I can’t separate them here or in my heart! Friends to lovers supremacy! Two friends, one brain cell! Nicknames! AHHHHH!
9th Doctor (Doctor Who): I’ve been rewatching relevant episodes of 10s’ run to catch myself up for the 60th anniversary specials but I keep going back to 9s’ run because as much as I love 10, there’s just a sense of wonder in that first season with 9 and Rose that is just so incredible.
General Olivier Mira Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist): She can stab me any day 😍
Shawn and Gus (Psych): kinda like Percy and Annabeth, I can’t separate them! They are the definition of ride or die best friends, the gold standard we should all strive for IMO.
Nyx (Hades): Such a fascinating character! Her motives never seem totally clear but her love for her children, Zagreus included, is perhaps her defining character trait.
Boromir (LoTR): He’s not always my favorite character from Tolkien’s work, because Samwise motherfucking Gamgee exists, but I think he is by far the most fascinating and tragic. I know a lot of people love to hate him for trying to take the ring, but IMO those people are missing the love and responsibility he has for his people and his fear for their survival.
Rosa Diaz (Brooklyn 99): I don’t think she’s my favorite character on the show, RIP the late great Andre Braugher and his amazing portrayal of Captain Holt, but she has a special place in my heart because watching her coming out story helped me realize that I was bisexual too!
Stephen Colbert (the Colbert Report): this one might be a cop out but he's definitely playing a character there and the Colbert Show was my third favorite show growing up (following Animal Planet’s Crocodile Hunter and the Most Extreme for more insight on what a weird little kid I was) and it had a huge effect on my humor, my politics, and the way I saw and approached the world.
As always, I'm sure everyone I would tag has already been tagged, but if not and you see/want to do this, consider yourself tagged and let me know for the future!
