#shame they’re a bigot

When you insult someone by calling them being jobless, you’re saying unemployment is shameful.
When you insult someone by saying they live with their parents, you’re saying being unable to move out is shameful.
When you insult someone by saying they’re not dating/a virgin, you’re saying that not pursuing sex or romance is shameful.
When you insult someone by calling them socially awkward, you’re saying that not reading social cues is shameful.
Your insults may or may not reach the bigoted person you’re trying to hurt, but they will reach vulnerable people who listen to you. The reason those insults work is because our society stigmatizes being disabled, celibate or queer, or impoverished. Stop and think: do you want to reinforce that stigma? Do you want to tell the people you care about that you think they’re lazy, or incompetent, or bigoted because they can’t get a job or date or speak “properly”?
Because they will hear you. And so will everyone else listening.
Hey guys did you know that when someone does something bigoted or inappropriate, you can address that without also shaming them for stuff like "living with their parents", "not having a job", "not dating" or "being socially awkward"?
#the reblogs above also have great points#that insulting bigoted people further alienates them#there’s a time and a place for those insults and it’s when you’re trying to make someone feel unwelcome#and if you want to make someone leave because they’re threatening people around you that’s one thing#but pick your works carefully#and be cognizant of your goal#shame is useful for pumping the brakes. it does not make a good gas pedal or turn signal.#if you’re trying to change somebody’s mind or help them empathize with others. shame and insults will make that actively harder for them.#and be careful not to alienate your own community members

Y’know before things went to shit a popular topic amongst jewish users on this site was about cultural Christianity, and a large part of that discussion was pointing out that certain ways of talking/acting/thinking were rooted in Christian culture, and were not culturally neutral, and the expectation of Jews (and people from non-culturally-Christian backgrounds in general) to conform to them was an expectation to assimilate and abandon our own cultural ways of talking/acting/thinking.
And this collective conversation has largely been abandoned as Jews on this platform now have much more loud and blatant forms of antisemitism to worry about
But I can’t really stop thinking about how ostracization, public shaming, guilt, conversational shut-downs, harassment, and throwing ad hominem buzzwords at various people to not have to engage directly with opposing ideas enough to form an actual counterargument have all been a serious issue with how people operate in left-leaning online spaces for a long time now, and how those things are also very common methods of group control in a lot of the more… well, controlling and loudly bigoted sects of American Christianity, with roots in American Puritanism.
And I think a lot of people who want to think of themselves as leftists or even activists should really take a step back and more deeply analyze their methods/praxis of realizing their ideals and how they interact with other people, whether or not they’re actually willing to be constructive about things, etc.
Like is burning bridges, shutting down conversations, refusing to engage intellectually with things you don’t like, callouts, etc… actually helpful and useful? Why is this the method so many default to, and where does it come from?
#ch.txt#jumblr#tagging bc. idk. the conversation started there and also visibility?#i saw a post the other day that linked a study I really want to refind#that was about how callouts and public shame statistically work rEALLY WELL on people already in marginalized positions. like trans women#but are extremely ineffective against people in positions of social power

HotD racebent the Velaryons and their sole purpose on the show (so far) is to be subservient to Rhaenyra. Am I reading too much into it if I say this is incredibly racist?
There’s definitely racism in the writing. No doubt about it.
A lot of Corlys’ most intelligent political moments are actions taken against Rhaenyra. So HOTD dumbed him down and even centered Rhaenyra in parts of the story where Corlys held authority in the book. Corlys is mostly relegated to the position of being Rhaenyra’s yes man and anytime he speaks against her, the characters around him shame him into silence in the same breath as exalting Rhaenyra. Laena’s relationship with Daemon is completely screwed over to prop up Rhaenyra and even Laena’s death was changed to foreshadow Rhaenyra’s death by dragon fire as something glorious & empowering. HOTD invented Laenor having internalized homophobia so that Rhaenyra could be positioned as the one who saves him from himself. Addam is immediately subservient and obedient to Rhaenyra as soon as he meets her without being given the same honors for his loyalty that his book counterpart got. Vaemond is randomly villainized as a raging bigot instead of a typical ambitious nobleman so that his death can be justified and brushed under the rug, to absolve Rhaenyra. The Silent Five are erased to avoid showing the accountability for the characters’ actions and that scene in HOTD is instead depicted as a touching father/daughter moment between Viserys and Rhaenyra. And there’s a bunch of other stuff too.
If HOTD writers think they’re doing Rhaenyra any favours by making these changes to the characterization, well they aren’t. It’s her character that ultimately looks worse and will continue to do so in the long run.

random things i've scripted
i never embarrass myself.
no one ever throws up on me.
no one ever hears me pooping.
everything works out in my favor.
all parties i go to are fun and lively.
people are always willing to help me.
i have my house address memorized.
i don’t get bad second hand embarrassment.
i’ll never get a tattoo or body modification that i’ll regret.
i never get a stiff neck from laying, sleeping or sitting weird.
whenever i get cocky, it’s perfectly justified because i am that bitch.
my nails (both hand and toe) don't catch on or scrape against things.
i am never an angry or abusive drunk (i'm taking no risks with my bloodline.)
my ears never get damaged when blasting anything at a high or full volume.
grease isn’t hard to wash off of stuff and doesn’t leave stains on any of the dishes i use.
i can tell when an animal is showing specific kinds of behavior (e.g., casual, affectionate, hostile, etc.)
you can't shame me for shit. i always own the shit i've done with my chest and can acknowledge when i'm wrong.
all the places i stay, especially hotels, have completely soundproof walls unless i don't want them to be for a reason or i scripted a scenario or whatever.
the majority of humans commonly can live up to 200 (i'm not human in most of my drs and ion want my human friends just dying on me too quick.)
i'm pretty good at regulating my emotions and i never let them get out of hand to the point where i'm impulsively or thoughtlessly hurting someone or something.
i enjoy rollercoasters, fair rides, etc., and have no fear of them. plus all of the ones i go on are completely safe, stable, and fully-functioning and no one ever gets hurt on them.
my disorders rarely cause me issues with physical intimacy (sexual and non-sexual) and if they do, there's always simple ways around the issues that doesn't really inconvenience me or anyone else.
whenever i commission someone or pay for a service, i always pay exactly on time or sometimes even before. i never allow people that work for me or give me any kind of service go unpaid or unsupported.
none of my friends, followers/fan, family members, or anyone i am currently aquatinted with or will be aquatinted with ever had a racist/homophobic/sexist/etc phase nor do they support/defend that type of thing.
i never slam any part of my body into doors, windows, books, and vice versa (i slammed my finger into my grandma's front door once and it took literal years to turn back to its normal color. plus it hurt like shit so NEVER again.)
any online creator who has harmed, is harming, or is attempting to harm any other creator without valid and justifiable reasoning has their platform taken away and can never get said platform back nor are they able to rebrand and start over.
i always give the best advice for people when they ask me things. like the advice i give leaves people with new perspectives and hope and all. and i also deliver it in a very good way that doesn’t offend or make people or uncomfortable or feel like they’re being berated or whatever. it’s just incredible advice delivered in the best way without sounding bad or sketchy.

What is something about being LGBT that a straight person would never guess is a thing you have to deal with on a regular basis?
People asking how you have sex
Once you come out, you never truly stop coming out.
Being queer means that you are going to be really lonely a lot of the time.
The mini internal debate you have every time you tell a story about your SO. Do I say friend or girlfriend? Have I come out to this person yet?
People ask if I know X person because they're also gay.
When you're gay, there's a very real chance your Significant Other will not have a family to bring you into.
Any expression of my sexuality is "being in your face about it" and "it shouldn't be your whole personality".
Everyone had an opinion about my mere existence.
People legitimately question the validity of your relationship, and whether it's just a phase-especially if you're bisexual
Straight people always want to know what your type is. It always feels like a test to see if you find them attractive.
How to properly have sex. They REALLY don't teach you that in sex education.
You never know who is secretly homophobic whether at work or in public, so you always have to act "straight" in a lot of situations
You get sick of never being represented in media, but straight people don't really get it.
Getting polite service is difficult.
Office workers will sometimes purposely send you on goose chases because they don’t want to serve you.
Before y'all knew I was gay, you talked a lot of smack about "the gays." You don't remember, but I remember. I will always remember.
Losing nail clippers can really harm a relationship.
Being queer sometimes feels like being a 30-something-year-old teenager in a community full of 30-something teenagers and weirdly grown-up kids who’ve been living on their own since being kicked out by their bigoted parents at 16.
We have to constantly police our language.
The shame/internalized homophobia.
Your right to exist being a political debate
Wondering when the Supreme Court will revoke my rights.
You can’t really just have sex on a whim... You have to spend time (a lot more than you think) to clean.
While closeted, probably the weight of the secret or the fear of someone finding out.
A gay person will watch any TV show or movie, no matter how bad, if they hear there is even a slice of positive gay representation in it.
When a gay couple kisses in public, people stare. Not even out of disgust or anything, but just because it’s still kind of foreign to them.
You can't always go to the place you want for your honeymoon, because you might get killed
Being described as someone’s “gay best friend” and not just their best friend.
Every time we tell someone we have a partner, and it catches them off-guard, they proceed to tell me about a gay person they know.
The doctor is always super surprised as to how we can be both sexually active and be 100% sure that we are not pregnant
People force you to come out, and they act like they’re doing you a favor.
You have to be prepared to lose any friendship at the drop of a hat
Every couple of years or so, we get a random homophobic death threat on social from someone we've never interacted with.

The core to Belos’ character is that he’s everything wrong with the United States of America. Why else is he a Puritan, a group of racist settlers who helped found the U.S. and contributed to the genocide of the Native Americans? Why else does he dress up like a Founding Father when not in papal robes, with a ponytail resembling a powdered wig?
Luz thinking he’s a great explorer, only to find out Philip is just an entitled asshole who takes credit from others to make himself look better, is a play on people IRL finding out that people like Christopher Columbus and Thomas Edison were assholes who stood on the shoulders of others. It’s a play on white mediocrity and how white guys do the bare minimum and expect to be praised.
Belos is a bigot whose entire motive and goals are based on genocide-level bigotry, and he refuses to unlearn any beliefs; Being a historical Puritan he is 100% racist and misogynistic and unlike Caleb, didn’t take the chance to grow out of it. He wants to believe he’s born special and better than everyone else, and that’s why he buys into white supremacy. The modern cop is the descendant of the witch hunter.
There is an explicit connection between the colonial genocide of Native Americans and Belos’ genocide of witches and demons, down to imposing a Christian misunderstanding of the local religion. He feels entitled to their magic but does none of the work to understand, nor does he cultivate a sustainable relationship with the land the way indigenous people do, hence consuming palismen.
He coined the term Savage Ages, with Savage having racist connotations. His fantasy is the Monster Hunter, the idea that it’s okay to dehumanize anything and even anyone that’s different to kill them. He believes in the Evil Races trope which is of course inherently racist. Belos treats Luz like his White Man’s Burden, a brown child who needs a White Savior to civilize (just as the U.S. kidnapped Native American children to assimilate), and then tries to kill Luz when she doesn’t go along instead of just. Leaving Luz alone or dragging her into the human realm with him anyway.
Belos makes exceptions to his religion when convenient, allowing himself to use magic but then demonizing those who do, just as homophobic Christians and Republicans do. Think of all the anti-gay politicians who are caught being gay; They’re not repressed victims, just hypocrites who think they’re entitled to special treatment. Philip didn’t rat on Caleb for hanging out with a witch for the reasons Pro-Lifers let loved ones have abortions; Caleb was important to him, and he’s not one of the witches Philip planned to murder. And even then he still killed Caleb for ‘crossing a line’!
The Puritans and other groups informed the Alt-Right in the U.S., as well as Evangelicals who rage about how something as innocuous as Pokemon is a Satanic influence (Yes this happened; The Conformatorium doesn’t seem so unrealistic after all, and remember that Dana’s father gave her a copy of Pokémon Red before he died that she latched onto). But like the Televangelist, Belos indulges in material wealth and glory via the glamour of Catholicism, because he’s not even consistent to Puritan values either.
He’s Trump, he’s Elon Musk, he’s Ron DeSantis. He’s the incel/mass shooter who fell down the pipeline, who feels cheated out of the promises of a white supremacist society and takes it out on minorities but not other white guys, because he thinks the system’s idea is fine it just isn’t working as it should, at least he’s better than those guys. He calls others NPCs because he wants to believe he’s born special and better and chosen.
Belos’ reaction to Caleb being with Evelyn was undeniably motivated by racial disgust at his brother for committing miscegenation and making Philip related to a savage in the process, it’s why he never brings it up because of the scandalous shame of it all. Belos hates those witches more than he ever loved Caleb, Caleb was never his priority or he’d have changed his mind; It had far less to do with ‘codependency’ and far more to do with white supremacy, perhaps Philip wouldn’t have minded Caleb settling with a human white woman. The issue being not Caleb leaving him but who Caleb left him for.
Belos thinks taming a wilderness and murdering its natives makes him a tough man because he’s insecure. He has a sniveling victim complex that can’t comprehend why minorities would dislike him, except that they’re mean. Belos epitomizes the U.S.’s racial and colonial violence, its white supremacy, and its global police narrative that decides the existence of another, independent world is an inherent threat to his own.
The conflict between Philip and Caleb was over racism, and so it’s black and white because racism is always wrong. Making it ‘nuanced’ would take away from the fact that the motives for real life racism are inherently nonsensical and insincere; Caleb wasn’t selfish for living with another culture on its terms, instead of staying in the racism village (The Gravesfield statues corroborate Philip being an adult when he arrived in the Demon Realm, according to the memory portraits; Caleb waited until Philip was an adult before leaving). Philip was not a weird kid, he was adhering to his social norms with games about how anyone different or actually weird should die, and he wanted to do this, he’s a Conformatorium prude like all the rest and let his fear of Evelyn justify and evolve into violence.
Even if he was weird, Belos isn’t telling other people they should fit in for their sake, he’s telling them they should just die (Unlike himself, because he’s ‘special’); It’s what he admits to the Collector in the finale about not bothering teaching them anything, just wiping them out. Belos uses magic only to kill magic and discards it out of disgust when he’s about to leave, but makes an exception for the life of the non-human he’s become.
And the choice for the villain to be a genuine Puritan makes sense, because this is a show about weirdoes, so who’s designating them as such and why? Luz has a conflict with the IRL system since the first scene and Belos symbolizes the system, his Puritan ideology marked the foundation for it and the U.S. Belos killing Caleb is just the cherry on top of his actual motives and what his character was always about, that’s why his death scene isn’t him lamenting about Caleb or how lonely he is, it’s him being racist and demanding special treatment for his race. A racist white man feels no guilt for the witches and demons he murdered, just his white brother and clones; He still keeps killing them too btw.
Deeming someone a lost cause and killing them instead of working to rehabilitate is un-Christian, because Belos is not secretly bound by his religion, he picks and chooses. His guilt is not Catholic, he is the Protestant belief in his own superiority. Belos isn’t just a Nazi, he’s an American racist, he’s the KKK; He’s a condemnation of American Values and Exceptionalism, and lowkey I think that’s part of the reason why Family-Friendly Disney canned TOH, because Belos is a condemnation of a major consumer base. Disney being more progressive than other companies means jackshit because it’s performative and the bar is in hell.

Response: There are people who have used the term “woke” who are not political at all and just do not want forced politics in their entertainment nor do they want to see more botched “diversity” in their entertainment.
I say “diversity” in quotes like that because there are performative “inclusive” people who either subconsciously or blatantly stereotype minorities they’re supposed to be “representing” and/or vilify straight cisgender people, white people and men in general to elevate women like me. Spoiler alert, I do not feel elevated, “represented,” or safe when people do this while patting themselves on the back for being “the most inclusive people.”
I do not want to hear any preaching about “diversity” when those same people throw my family in the same category as actual bigots with their generalizations of groups of people. I do not want to hear about “diversity” when people are out there treating people like they’re subhuman based on the color of their skin. I do not want to hear about “diversity” when people are shaming straight people for being straight.
Our LGBT elders fought tooth and nail and started the first June march because they did not want to be treated like circus animals by homophobes anymore and they wanted to get married and hold hands with their same sex partners without the fear of being killed on the streets.
Martin Luther King Jr. did not die for us to keep judging others based on the color of our skin.
Elderly feminists that fought for the lack of women’s rights years ago that we have now, did NOT fight to say that men are inferior.
Performative activists and fake activists actively spit in the face of people that fought for freedom, rights, and equality and are acting just like the people they swear they are fighting against.
Posting as a response to a previous ask.

no but when you really sit down and think about it, you have to be actually batshit insane, mentally unstable and depravingly dangerous to be a man who actually feels comfortable walking into women’s spaces and taking up space as if you were ever welcome there. like physically and confidently walking into women’s restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, sports teams, lesbian bars, gatherings etc and not feeling an ounce of shame or embarrassment or guilt, but instead entitlement. like as a woman, this absolutely fucking baffles me. even hypothetically putting myself in the shoes of the men who do this makes me feel physically sick. like i literally had a full body cringe thinking about it. as women we’re taught to feel things like shame and guilt and embarrassment for taking up space in almost any public setting, so I guess this feeling just comes naturally to me, but like. how can you feel justified and righteous enough to demand to be let into these spaces where you aren’t fucking wanted? where is the self awareness and empathy?
like they keep telling us that these TIMs who “just want to pee” are supposedly less of a threat to us than other men but, the kind of man who feels entitled enough to pull shit like this is probably even more insidiously dangerous to women than your average man. it’s just so sick and twisted. they’re narcissistic, egotistical, porn-sick depraved men who are fetishizing us enough to want to emulate us, invade and use our spaces, date us, piss and change beside us, all while demanding to call them one of us, or else be silenced and labeled a bigot. as if we’re indistinguishable from one another and should be respected and treated as such. it’s terrifying when you actually think about it.

Hi i was wondering if you could do a male s/o that gets super insecure and uncomfortable when people look at his top surgery scars and he hates it when people miss gender him and Miles Morales Miles 42 Hobie Pavitr Prabhakar and Spider-Noir are there to defend or shut the people that miss gender him or glare at them to the point where the other person gets uncomfortable and stop looking at the male reader I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense i just type really fast and don't re-read it at some points
Anyways I absolutely love your writing work I really enjoy it and everything, have a lovely day or night ❤️💕
hobie, 1610!miles, 42!miles, pavitr and noir defending their transmasc partners
ok this took me a while i admit but i hope you enjoy !
established, separate relationships
warnings: i’m sleepy
pairing: hobie brown x transmasc!reader, earth-1610 miles morales x transmasc!reader, earth-42 miles morales x trans!mascreader, pavitr prabhakar x transmasc!reader, spider-noir x transmasc!reader
requests: check out the blog-guide for info !
he’s rapidly approaching
★⋆ ⋆☆⋆ ☠︎︎ ⋆☆⋆⋆★✧
punk personified
you two were getting ready for a sick concert you’ve been looking forward to for a small while now, moral is high and all’s good
ofc it’s punk, and hobie will be damned if you don’t dress the part with him
he started diying you guys outfits for this specific concert a few weeks beforehand, and he’s super proud of them ! very happy to show you and he hopes you like them
you like them . because i said so
however, it did include a shirt that looks like it had been torn up in every way possible
depending on what ur comfortable with, it can either be a crop top that rides up just a little too much when you jump about and stretch OR it’s one of those tank tops where the sides of your torso simply aren’t covered, very low cut sides
so yeah, your top surgery scars are in the breeze
intentional ? who knows, this is hobie we’re talking about
maybe hobie’s tryna get you to step out of your comfort zone and feel more comfortable in ur skin in an environment where he knows you won’t be judged
perhaps he simply did not take this into consideration because he doesn’t even think twice about ur scars
regardless, they’re out, you both look sick, im forever furious that we were deprived of tank top hobie in low riders PLEASE (he exists in my dreams)
the concert isn’t the problem- don’t call urself punk if ur a bigot we all know this
it’s the walk there that really sucked
you and hobie got some intense stares from people as you walked hand in hand to this thing
naturally, hobie ate that shit up, kept his head high the whole time and doesn’t bat an eye at this people
you’re not as confident, unfortunately . catching people looking at your scars makes you feel all sorts of insecure, which is valid man
hobie also gets this, and god knows he looks for every excuse to antagonise those closed minded people so he’s very content to start a fight
cant care less when it comes to people judging him, he knows who he is and he’s proud asf, not gonna waste his breath on that
but when hobie sees his boyfriend curling in on himself because of strangers in the street that aren’t shit, that’s when he can be bothered to pay some mind to them
it’s subtle, for your sake . doesn’t wanna draw any more attention and risk getting caught up in this when you’ve both been looking forward to this concert for so long
so instead of outright starting a fight, he uses that scary privilege he knows he has and just stared them down in such a disrespectful way
the way that you’re both dressed too, i’m sure that it works
doesn’t relent either, will stare until the other people stop staring
ideally ? he wants to make them walk away and stop bothering you, but he’s alright with exchanging a scowl for the person to look away instead, preferably in shame
when they’re taken care of, that’s that . he wants you two to forget about that and have fun at this gig, sound good ? he wants to see you genuinely enjoying yourself in your own skin, surrounded by the people that make him feel more like himself too
besides, scars are nothing to be ashamed of or to hide
the walk home is a lot more peaceful
★⋆ ⋆☆⋆ ☠︎︎ ⋆☆⋆⋆★✧
i’m sorry u were ever hurt
you two are off to the water park (using the american word, sorry fellow brits :() together, enjoy ur youth
imagine how cool you two are rolling up in ur swimming trunks
i wholeheartedly believe that miles is an absolute sap and would wanna match- i die on the hill that he’s a born to “hi ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ” forced to “wsg”
anyway, go have fun at the baths
that’s what miles expects anyway, fun with no strings attached, as most would
but that’s not how the world works, unfortunately
some people live to be hateful and have sad, empty, boring, gloomy, pathetic, waste of space lives, and you have to go through the misfortune of enduring some really vicious stares . all because you’re a guy with a few scars on his chest
people talk, you might overhear some stuff about ur character that makes you really insecure and upset
takes miles a little minute to clock the way you’re trying to fold your arms to hide your scars, but he catches on pretty quickly that it’s because of the people around you
is immediately by your side and looking concerned as hell
initially assumed that you might be in some pain, maybe the chlorine is fucking w ur scar tissue
sympathetic and checking in on you in the gentlest way when he notices that sadness
“w-hey, what’s happenin? you good?” standing really close and tilting his head to make eye contact with you if you’re looking down or away, hands are grazing your elbows to hold you
miles cares, a lot
speak ur mind man, tell him what’s going on
looks over your shoulder and at the people making you feel uncomfortable with that determined look
ushers you away, doesn’t want you around those kind people . bad vibes, he doesn’t fuck w it
probably goes snitch to staff lmao
and that’s how much he cares, he’d get stitches for u (ノд`)
but miles isn’t about to let the day be ruined by transphobes- god forbid
so he’s gonna try hard to make you forget about that interaction, it’s like a switch when he suddenly becomes all energetic again and is basically dragging you back towards the water
wants to hear you start laughing real fast
if miles venom striked the pool would everyone fucking die ?
★⋆ ⋆☆⋆ ☠︎︎ ⋆☆⋆⋆★✧
cat
GYM BABY
PE class gotta suck with all those bitchy teens being closed minded for no good reason and thinking it’s funny to openly judge and mock the things they don’t understand
miles is very mature and knows that bullying just isn’t cool, downright stupid and bullies should honestly be embarrassed to show their face
but because the changing rooms are so small, he can’t even attempt to ignore the comments he’s hearing, all directed at his boyfriend who’s just trying to change for class
you’re minding your own business, why can’t they mind theirs ?
is another person that doesn’t wanna give you a worse time by antagonising those freaks and picking a fight, will instead just stare over his shoulder
works, miles 42 has a mean side eye, straight up vicious
he knows that won’t resolve the issue, people are so resilient w their hate and
gets insanely irritated if someone suggests you changing somewhere else . honestly would just prefer for there to be some tension in the locker room instead of isolating you away while you changed, couldn’t stand that idea because it’s flat out not fair . on top of a number of other things
can ignore the tension, doesn’t know about you
talks to you about not backing down, you have every right ro be in there and you shouldn’t feel in any way negatively about it
don’t give those closed minded people the satisfaction of making you feel bad about yourself and accommodating to them
makes an excellent point one day
“why are you watchin’ my boyfriend change..?” says it so slowly and it got real awkward after that
won’t tell a teacher unless you want to, then he’ll be moral support and be waiting for you outside the office
anyway, man’s got a killer deadeye to keep people in line and tries to not antagonise people too much
just get changed, that’s what you’re there to do people
stop being weird abt it
★⋆ ⋆☆⋆ ☠︎︎ ⋆☆⋆⋆★✧
please don’t die
i’m a huge fan of those people that see a trans flag and immediately try to pull a “you’ll never be a real woman >:C” to a trans man
like yeah, thanks man, really appreciate it
it’s happened to you once or twice in the street, you or pav have some kind of pin or smthn and you’re literally just approached by strangers who have nothing better to do with their day
the most meaningful thing abt it is talking to you two honestly, ur just that cool
i can see him reading people just to point out their insecurities because violence isn’t the answer
it’s a last resort, but imagine you two simply minding your own business and this blank slate of a person decides to make a comment on your masculinity
“it’s okay sweetie, they’re just trying to overcompensate for their lack of a personality ! (๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑)” huh 👁️👁️
pays literally no mind to them, pretends nothing happens and keeps walking with you
it’s like an invisible force field, bounces right off of him and somehow hurts the other person more
walking embodiment of that “i am rubber you are glue, what bounces off of me stick to you” and he probably recites that, too
but yeah, so insanely unbothered that i would maybe check up on him from time to time ? how is he always so chipper ? is bro good ?
but it’s infectious, so you can’t let it get to you either, it’s hard to feel sad around pav
he will somehow coincidentally always find something to immediately take ur mind off if it
after a shitty interaction with someone talking about pronouns and how theirs are an inanimate object, he miraculously spots a food stand you guys haven’t tried yet
does that Σ(゚ロ゚) face of his while gasping and drags you over, no questions asked
interrupts the person with the longest gasp, one would assume he hadn’t had a breath of fresh air ever
“look look! we have to try it!” pointing like that fuckin Soyjaks meme and ur gone, bigot is left in the dust
i’ve heard food is great therapy, and he believes so too
so scran down on some good street food while pavitr looks like a beam of sunshine despite just ruining a persons self esteem for the rest of their lie
it’s deserved though, so you can both sleep well
yknow what else slaps ? some chai, go home and have some w his aunty who thinks you’ve a very handsome young man

why the fuck is he so broad hang on
she/her a he/him and get shot, idk mans got a whole firearm for a reason
it’s takes him a little while to understand trans slander, but eventually it becomes like a fine art to him because i think he has a tendency to hyperfixate on things until he understands them in violent detail (autistic. he’s violently autistic coded. cant read a room, hyperfixated on his favourite colour, struggles to express himself through his tone.. yknow)
so if one day someone happens to catch sight of your scars and starts to talk shit in whatever 30’s slang from his dimension and modern slang from your own, he is so ready to give this speech on discrimination
theres a power point slide too but he doesn’t know how that works
gives up not even half way because he got frustrated and started cursing them out instead
“look, you seem like lovely people- no, no you don’t”
he has anger issues
there’s a lot of “and my boyfriend!” followed by a compliment, he managed to throw a few in there for good measure
says something about the colour purple at one point, i don’t know how that happened
please steer him away before someone gets shot over colour theory (surprised it hasn’t happened yet, ammarite fellow artists ? 😀 )
apologises for getting carried away, has to stop himself from talking about colours again he’s just such a peter and so unserious
“i’m sorry i- that must have been hard for you” clearly it was harder for u dear god
is likely the most insistent on doing anything and everything to make you feel better, is open to suggestions and is basically begging for them
while everyone else is low-key for ur own sake, this man’s about to buy you the world with his 4 dollars which is pretty impressive in his dimension
insists on doing your favourite things, is suggesting this and that, left right and centre
is convinced it’s the end of the world, this is reinforced since you seemed so upset and uncomfortable being misgendered by some people on the street
if you’re plenty happy to settle doing something, he’s thrilled and is giving it his 110% just for you
go watch a movie, careful not to point out the colours of noir will then realise that movies are no longer in black and white and starts asking you if everything is purple
“what a lovely purple :]” pan to like a whole pyramid

Fucking dumb bird, Criston is literally a Kingsguard sworn to celibacy and chastity having nonmarital sex with the QUEEN MOTHER, y’all are fucking insane.
But yes, women must suffer in order to “deserve” freedom, you are just like these pro life bigots who support abortion exceptions for rape and incest, the woman/girl must be mentally & physically destroyed so she can have bodily autonomy (even though many female characters in ASOIAF had FAR WORSE marriage than Alicent). Why do you women so much ?!
(Not Alicent abusing her own power against a lowborn knight, the power imbalance is IMMENSE, she’s such a sex pest, will someone think of Criston, he couldn’t said no to the mother of the king, lmao!)
Get ready, locals already HATED her ass, but now, they’re gonna DESTROY her, they will never let that stupid & depraved hag, the incel, and their nasty fans have a day of peace, and it’s gonna be insanely hilarious!
Reading this as a radfem is fucking hilarious.
Why do I hate women so much? The only thing I’ve done is say I don’t agree with Rhaenyra’s actions and I call her a hypocrite for obviously breaking social norms while refusing that she has done so in order to not receive backlash. You, on the other hand, are calling me a dumb fucking bitch bird, saying you hate her ass, saying you’ll destroy her, calling her a stupid and depraved hag, calling her a sex pest and shaming her for having non marital sex in her 40s as the widow of a man she never loved because she is a mother and a member of the royal family. Why do you hate women so much?

“Men can go to hobby groups and-“
Women can too? I spent like 16-17 years as a woman??? I was invited to hobby groups and groups to chill and hang out.
I felt safe in these spaces?
They’re not spaces to share emotions, feelings and struggles while being able to learn and grow as people?
Like, I dunno, I also grew up where a man deciding he wanted to shave his legs because it feels nice got him called a woman, and shamed so much he stopped doing it and lived in discomfort.
Sounds systemic and unsafe to me.
Hobby spaces aren’t safe spaces in the same way that spaces carved out to be safe spaces are.
Also marginalized men exist.
Men of Colour, Trans Men, Gay men?? Queer men as a whole?
Men targeted to uphold patriarchy that are then discarded once the patriarchy is settled.
A black man wanting a space where he isn’t treated like he’s inherently dangerous isn’t just important because he’s a man, but because that idea he is inherently a threat for being a BLACK man is dangerous.
People can’t remove that from conversations about gender either.
Race will ALWAYS matter, and every time I see conversations where people are saying “men don’t deserve safe spaces I should be allowed to bash ALL men (except trans men who are men lite/especially trans men who are traitors to womenhood)” I just think, “so white women convinced you men of colour oppress them for being men, as if white women still don’t get these men punished for being black.
Gay men don’t really 1:1 oppress straight women either.
Men being isolated and kept from their OWN communities is an issue. White supremacy does in fact allow outer groups to strengthen itself until it no longer needs that outer groups strength then it discards them.
There are black neo-nazis. There are gay ones. There are trans men bigots.
There are white women neo-nazis.
Bigots who have fallen into bigotry, and into extremism, usually are fed the ideals and it’s so easy to keep them there by pointing at something vitriol and saying, “look, see, they hate you, they’re your enemies, they deserve your hate and ire”.
Like, idk, that 12 year old boy isn’t good and innocent from his racist and harmful ideals he’s slinging around, but if no one helps him out of those beliefs he’ll be a 25 year old man with those harmful beliefs.
And I don’t know any way of thinking that says a 12 year old listens to horrible bitter put downs over like, long understanding conversations.
Like, even if you personally (broadly, not at you) don’t want to lead someone from those ideals, someone has to teach. Someone has to willingly pull people away from that.
People talk about rehabilitative justice and then turn around and say, “hey I think you’re harmful for existing and you deserve suffering”.
As if that helps somehow?
This just rounds back to, as well, marginalized men exist, and the Men vs Women dichotomy is literally Radical Feminism which ignores the racial factors of oppression. Which is how white women get away wish racism to black women while also saying “we need to stay united”
^^^^^ long but worth reading

DNI labels are funny because I can 100% not be who they hate, but it just comes across as obnoxious and weird. It's like a dude screeching to himself in the middle of a town square that certain people shouldn't approach him. I mean you do you dude, but there's no way in hell I'm getting close either
I mentioned in an earlier post the possibility of someone slipping a slur into their DNI lists and labels. Even if you’re not a part of that marginalized group you’re likely going to be grateful for that enormous red flag and avoid that asshole. Because it’s rather obvious that DNI list isn’t about someone trying to protect their peace and mental health by setting boundaries. It’s about hurting and violating someone else’s peace and wellbeing by signaling “I don’t feel any need to see and treat you like a human being worthy of dignity or respect.”
The more I think about it the more I can’t help but see DNI lists as a weird(and rather ineffective way) for people to try to shame and control the people around them. Because instead of saying “don’t engage in XYZ topic with me” they’re saying “these people aren’t allowed around me” even if what they’re doing or saying has nothing to do with what’s going(like saying Muslims DNI on a random piece of fanart) It’s really nonsensical and disrespectful for no good reason other than to insult Muslims.
I can’t help but think that the people who act like DNI lists or labels are somehow holy or sancrosanct, never to be mocked, questioned, or judged. And are perfectly acceptable and appropriate in all places and situations are both weirdly controlling, and the type of person who is okay with bigotry, discrimination, and bullying as long as the bigot gives the right justification.
And no. You don’t get to hurt others and violate their peace in the name of “setting boundaries” at least not without some judgement and mockery tossed your way.

also since the ppl foaming at the mouth abt “transandrophobia truthers” love borrowing from antisemitic conspiracy theory rhetoric, i’ll put forth a little conspiracy of my own.
i think the majority of the ppl who go out of their way to harass trans men and mascs and nonbinary ppl who try to talk abt anti masculinity, anti butch rhetoric, and anti transmasculinity are the same demographic as us: other trans men, trans masc people, nonbinary people who were afab. i think they have decided that being “tme” is something to feel guilty about, and when they see other “tme” people not self flagellating over that guilt, it makes them angry. because we should feel miserable and guilty like they do. we should be stuffing out emotions down and falling in line like they do. we should be pandering to cis and white women like they do. and when we don’t, they lash out. i don’t think trans women and femmes have much to do with this at all tbh. there are some who contribute to this, but it’s our own people who are driving this. it’s the same garbage that happened with transmedicalism: trans people who were assigned female at birth panicking when other people deviated from the predetermined path because that “makes all of us look bad.” it’s also the same garbage that happened with aphobia: seeing people with experiences you can’t relate to, and instead of listening to them you decide that they’re lying, that they have to be punished. it’s the same absolute garbage that happens every time in trans subsections of the internet that are primarily inhabited by teenagers and young adults who are insecure in their own identities and don’t know how to cope with that without lashing out.
and all i have to say to that is: it’s time to grow up. get your shit together. realize that burying your head in the sand is not going to protect you from the things we are talking about. it’s not going to protect you from anti trans bans. it’s not going to protect you from bigots. it’s not going to save you. you are going down right alongside us, no matter how badly you try to convince yourself that you won’t. you need to decide right now what your priorities are. you need to decide if all this anger and resentment you have based on hearsay and buzzwords is worth it. because it would be a damn shame if a portion of our community was burned out by hating itself while the rest of us try to make things better.

I don’t agree with sending people hate on the internet under usual circumstances, but I think people denying the Holocaust deserve to be publicly shamed and called out for the rest of their lives. I don’t care who they are or what their background is. deny the Holocaust, be humiliated by your cruelty for the rest of time.
the really out there ones typically get their comeuppance via everyone in their life abandoning them over the stupidity, and they get publicly shamed if they’re on the internet. these days though it’s a lot easier to blatantly deny and/or diminish the holocaust and be seen as the sane one, which is so wild to me. I remember when I used to believe holocaust deniers were societal outcasts no one took seriously. now they’re everywhere. they deserve to be called out to hell and back, and I frankly will not shed a tear if their reputation tanks and they lose their jobs. that’s what they cheer for to happen to any other bigot. it’s only fitting for an antisemite.

A solution for social isolation: be intolerant of intolerance
"This is the most important one.
I firmly believe that the reason gay rights have progressed very quickly relative to other civil rights movements is because queer people exist across all ethnicities, classes, genders, and religions. Queer people have many diverse and passionate supporters. And they’re embedded across every conceivable social group.
I strongly believe in the power of social pressure to shame bigots. Every time someone says something judgmental or homophobic or transphobic in your hearing, it is a test. You seem like the kind of person who will agree with me—or at least you seem like you won’t fight me on it. So go ahead and disavow them of that notion.
Practice. “I don’t find that funny. I don’t agree. That word is unacceptable. Don’t say things like that in front of me again.”
Contribute to a culture where people with hate inside themselves are nervous to open their mouths and let it out."

started maybe writing a drarry fic but it’s just a culmination of a bunch of fluffy, sad ideas at the moment, but here’s a cute little scene
Draco and Teddy feels:
Wedged in between an abandoned ice cream parlor and a post office was a small brick storefront, framed by climbing roses and showcasing various mis-matched, antique objects through the front windows.
All Draco saw was a warm light and a shield from the oncoming storm– then all he saw was Teddy Lupin, peeking up from behind that old wooden countertop and surrounded by millions of antiques covered in years of dust.
It took a second, of course, for Draco to fully register the fact that those gray-blue eyes were an exact replica of his own, and he blinked a few times when, for hardly a millisecond, the curls on the top of that small head flashed platinum before returning to their natural turquoise hue.
Draco finally steps inside after a moment, his brow furrowing as he hesitantly watches the small boy scramble off of whatever stool he had currently been perched upon. His eyes widen slowly as Teddy, quite determinedly, walks right up to him.
He’s dressed in a blue and green striped sweater with denim overalls; there’s a bright blue pin on the front pocket that says “Assistant Manager” and mismatched socks peeking from the top of the worn muggle sneakers on his small feet.
The boy gestures to their right, drawing Draco’s attention to a shelf full of antique decanters in a myriad of different colors, “These a-are new— Haz says they’re hand-ade,” Teddy says informatively, staring up at Draco with bright eyes, and if Draco weren’t overwhelmed by the sheer volume of things in this enclosed space and the presence of his estranged cousin in a muggle resale shop, he’d find Teddy’s breathless stutter dreadfully endearing.
“Ah— handmade, you say?” Draco asks after a few awkward moments, finding himself at a loss and just barely stopping himself from running right back out the door.
The second he’d laid eyes on the boy, the first feeling to wash over him was pure shock— the second was pure shame.
His mother spoke of her sister, Andromeda, often. Never in front of his grandparents or Lucius, but when they were by the fire, just the two of them, late at night. His mother would stare off into the fire and he would ask— he always asks what’s wrong.
She would smile, so, so sadly, and tell him stories about Andromeda. Once, with a wave of her hand, she conjured the night sky, moving her hand over the Andromeda Galaxy with reverence. How bright, how damned beautiful was her sister? So encompassing and lovely, was her sister.
He’d never met Andromeda, nor her daughter, but he had met Remus Lupin. He’d met Remus Lupin and he’d said horrible things about the werewolf; about Teddy’s father. Teddy Lupin, his own blood, left without parents because they died so that he and the rest of the world could continue on.
Teddy’s parents who would undoubtedly hate Draco, who wouldn’t want any part of his life touching Teddy’s, because Draco Malfoy was— is— an entitled, bigoted Death Eater, and hadn’t spared a thought for Andromeda nor her orphaned grandson after the war.
The shame soaked through him deeper than the downpour did, but he found himself stuck in place.
He’s learned something new, today; it’s quite difficult to turn down the conversation of a bright, happy Teddy Lupin while he beams up at you, straightening his spine and puffing out his chest pridefully at the opportunity to inform you about antique muggle decanters.
Teddy nods enthusiastically, grinning wide, “Yes! Haz says they’re from the eight-teeth century, and not to touch them because when I touch glass things the-ey break, so I don’t touch them— but I think he would let you! I don’t think you break things yo-ou touch.”
And, wow, wasn’t that just a punch to the gut he wasn’t expecting this morning.
“I’m afraid we have the same habit of breaking things,” Draco says dejectedly, flashing Teddy a small smile before actually getting a good look at his surroundings.
The store, while seeming rather small from the outside, is full to the brim with all sorts of objects. The walls are lined with bookcases, chipped wardrobes and various posters, signs and paintings. There are shelves sticking out from the walls and the odd piece of furniture, creating a haphazard maze, of sorts, that seems to extend so far back that Draco isn’t sure exactly where it ends— if it ends. He suspects some sort of (illegal) extension charm and his brows furrow further.
There are tea sets and glass lamps and VHS tapes and muggle cameras and clothes. Draco isn’t exactly sure how anyone could ever manage to navigate this mess— it doesn’t matter, though, because he isn’t planning on staying long, really; only until the rain stops it’s assault on London.
Teddy seems to be able to navigate the mess just fine as he takes Draco’s hand, leading him further and further into the maze.
They stop in front of what Draco gathers is one of those muggle record players— Granger has one in her small cottage, and Draco had gotten several lectures on how delicate the black discs are, having been on the receiving end of many “don’t touch the needle!”s and “you’re as bad as a toddler!”s every time he attempted to use the damned thing.
Teddy picks up a record from one of the surrounding crates and holds it up to Draco with a grin.
“Two fo-or one sale!” He says brightly, and Draco hesitantly takes the object from the boy, straightening up to give it a good once over.
While every other record seemed to be covered in dust and packed tightly away, this one was smooth to the touch as Draco ran his fingers over the image on the cover. A man, standing in front of a brick building at night. There was a sign above his head reading “K. West”, and in the upper-left corner it read: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
“I’m not sure I understand…”
Draco’s squinting, rereading the words in the hopes that they’d change into a sentence he was able to even begin to understand.
Teddy snatches it from his hands, walking over to the record player with a little hop in his step, smiling excitedly over at Draco before he removes the black disc from its sheath with an impressive amount of care for a toddler.
“This was daddy’s fa-avorite, Haz says,” Teddy tells him softly, and Draco’s heart seizes and stutters and the least he can do is stand there like a dolt and listen to Ziggy Stardust.
He watches with barely suppressed intrigue as Teddy gently eases the needle onto the disc.
He steps back as a calm piano plays through the cluttered store, filling up the space with an easy tune, a strong voice and a steady beat.
He’d never heard music quite like this before, not even at Granger’s, and there’s something overwhelming tugging at him as he looks over at Teddy, watching him drum his little fingers against his overalls. He can’t help but smile a little when Teddy lifts his gaze, grinning up at Draco and bobbing his head encouragingly.
“And he was alright,
The band was all together
Yes, he was alright
The song went on forever”
Draco concedes to the boy's silent encouragement, bobbing his head along with Teddy, prompting a sudden giggle out of his small cousin.
Teddy starts mouthing the words around his grin.
“And he was awful nice
Really quite paradise
And he sang all night,
All night long
Oh, how I sighed,
When they asked if I knew his name,”
“Teddy!”
They both jumped at the distant call, and Teddy quickly scrambled to stop the record before whoever called for him rounded the corner.
“I’m no-ot supposed to play the records when Harry’s not here,” Teddy whispers, shooting a wide eyed, guilty look Draco’s way— as if they were both in trouble.
haven’t attempted really writing a drarry fic because good god the amount of feelings jam packed into these things is crazy and i’m gonna have to do my best to sort through it all 🫡
