Imagine that Anya gets Damian to come over to her house. Damian is uneasy at first but he comes to really enjoy being with the Forger family. He finds Yor to be such a kind and sweet person and hopes that his mom can always be friends with her. Loid shows actual interest in him and not his father. And while there he’s noticeably nicer to Anya showing that smile he had at the dance with her frequently.

But then it happens. Without an imperial scholar robe on him his father reaches out to him on his own accord, and he gets what he has wanted for so long his father’s attention. But little does he know there’s a nefarious intention to his sudden warmth to him.

I’ve always wondered if there was any language difference between Westalis and Ostania, like I know the show and manga are only ever written as one language as these are fictional countries so the languages would be fictional too, but from what I’m aware of, there was never been any hint to Ostanian people speaking a different language than the West. Also I know that there are plenty of reasons for two countries beside one another to speak the same language. However, I find things like this very interesting, and I think it adds more to the characters’ stories lol

So, I have a little headcanon that all the WISE spies have to learn Ostanian fluently, with a perfect accent of course, but of course there are also plenty of dialects that must be learned as well. And as thorough WISE is, it’s hard to perfect a second language if you aren’t able to spend time with native speakers, especially when they are labeled the enemy.

Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that language and dialect differences are really cool, and I feel like slip ups could lead to some interesting and likely wholesome scenarios in the SpyxFamily world.

Was not expecting such a major cliffhanger at the end of today's chapter!

What's interesting is that Twilight could have shot Yuri but he hesitates (note the "waver" sfx in the panel where he's holding his gun).

Another subtlety is that Twilight is the one lowering his gun on the next page.

And there was also only one "bang" in the next panel.

Then we get the scene with Yor, obviously foreshadowing this bad turn of events.

She seems to have forgiven Loid and is only upset with Yuri for suspecting him of cheating...obviously because she was never truly angry at him to begin with and only invented those "gripes" to seem normal.

The blood dripping in the final panel of the chapter is not from Yor's cut but from the previous scene of Twilight vs Yuri (it's a bit confusing since it immediately follows the panel of her looking at her cut, but you can see the pebbles on the ground, so it's not in the kitchen).

My guess is that Twilight is the one who got shot, for the reasons I pointed out before of him seeming to hesitate about shooting Yuri. It makes sense since he knows that Yor would be devastated if anything happened to him. And maybe, deep down, he's grown slightly fond of his wacky brother-in-law. On the other hand, Yuri doesn't know that Loid is Twilight...but if he did, would he hesitate too, for the same reason? Regardless, I doubt the wound will be fatal, but it looks bad enough to be something that Loid (or Yuri) won't be able to hide from Yor or anyone else. Some people are speculating that Twilight and Yuri will meet up back at the Forger house, and Loid will have to somehow hide his injury to keep Yuri from being suspicious. But we'll see! I don't want to theorize too deeply since the arc is still ongoing and anything could happen. Heck, someone else could have gotten involved off-panel and will turn out to be the one who actually got shot. So many possibilities!

But gosh, this arc is turning out to be exciting! I wasn't sure at first, but now I think there's a chance we will indeed get something major from it, like an identity reveal for Yuri and Twilight. Or Twilight could manage to get away without Yuri finding out that he's Loid. But we haven't even seen the real Wheeler yet, and I feel like the arc wouldn't end without him showing up, and probably interacting with Twilight.

Gah, this is really shaping up to be a long and possibly plot-altering arc! The two-week wait for the next chapter will be torture! But at least (per this latest illustration from Endo), Anya is having a nice time at the zoo.

I can already envision her shocked expressions when she reads Mama's, Papa's, and Uncle's minds later.

Day 11: Intense Moments?

There are several intense moments memorable to me up until now.

If I have to choose one, then it's these ending during the Mole hunting arc chapter 82.

I mean, there were guns aimed at each other. There was a gun being shot sfx. And then there was "the plate crashing scene" followed by a cut wound caused by said plate crash that happened to Yor.

I don't know if this is a custom belief in western countries, but to us Asian, these combination of events usually believed to be a very very bad omen. These type of event usually leads to a very bad / disasterous event happened to the loved ones (usually said love one dies).

In this case, since it happened to Yor, it means something bad happened to one or both of the most important men in her life: Loid and/or Yuri.

And then Endo deliberately showed us the blood dripping. A lot of blood.

And then Yor said "I wonder if Loid will be coming home late tonight."

Those series of panels leads me to be so very afraid that Loid might be severely injured so that he has to be extracted from Strix for sometime, or died. (however impossible that will happen due to plot armor if we think about it logically 🤣)

I never felt so devastated and impatient to know what will happen at the next chapter.

Endo is soo good at storry telling. 🥰

Okarun : Okay, This is it fellas. We are all wearing red today for this year's anniversary of Jump Plus.

Momo : Is everyone ready...?

*Bull gets triggered by their red outfits*

Okarun : Okay, Jump Plusers! Smile for the camera.

Bull : *growls*

*Bull prepares to dash*

Okarun : Get in positions.

Anya : I'm so excited for this year's anniversary of Jump Plus, and I'm beginning that something bad happens when we are wearing these outfits

*Bull dashes at the Jumpers*

*Bull noise*

Momo : Hey, what's with all the noises arou--

Okarun : (panicking) OH MY FRIGGIN GO-

*BOWLING PIN CRASH*

Luffy : Uhh...Ole?

Nami : Someone call an ambulance!

(cuts later to the jumpers in body casts)

*monitor beeping*

Okarun : Why did anyone tell me that wearing red was a stupid idea?

Momo : Read the headlines.

Okarun : Eh? What's this?

*Newspaper: BULLFIGHT CRASHES JUMP PLUS ANNIVERSARY*

Okarun : This is all Spain's fault! Wearing red is for bullfighters, not for partygoers! This is a highway robbery!

Anya : I think my stomach hurts.

Yor : Why would anyone wear red for the anniversary?! That wild animal bullfight on us!

Loid : Because that's the animal's triggering, they sense red because red is blood.

Yor : Thanks a lot, you two. It tooks us three days to get us injured in a bullfight by wearing red for the anniversary. THREE. FREAKING. DAYS!!!

Turbo Granny : At least we get a free time at the hospital.

Seiko : Here you go, Kids. Just got it from Ameku.

Turbo : What's all this?

Seiko : This would be everyone's bills for your injuries from the incident and of course, the Jump Plus Anniversary minimal damages for...

Seiko : (slow mo) "Reckless Bullfighting".

Momo : (looks up in rage) NNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!

*scenario ends in reality*

Do you ever just think about Twilight being in such a strenuous, lonely, morally ambiguous business of espionage that requires him to shed his humanity to do callous and ruthless things to survive and his good deeds would never be known to anyone, and Anya reading "I wanted to create a world where children wouldn't have to cry" in his mind and Yor being struck by "To sacrifice yourself for the sake of others, to endure harsh work for something you believe in, no normal person has that kind of resolve. You should be proud." and you're not. You're not okay, because Anya may have brought this family together, but Loid's inherent principle, kindness, and compassion is why the both of them chose to stay and fight for this weird, fantastic family they made and in this essay—
