In every places we visit, customer service is the key factor that keeps us coming from coming back. And sugar factory never failed us. For we have experienced nothing but perfection from their staff. From the moment we entered their shop, 'till the time we left. Rewarding experience. Be it a birthday, anniversary, promotion at work, salary day or just your usual day after work, and decided to reward yourself, i believe Sugar Factory is one of the best places to be. I'd wager there are a million squat variations, at least, and each one has its own, unique, magical cadence that makes it fun and delicious and hellishly spectacular. By @syattfitness - 🦄Anyone who has squatted so much as a dingbat knows how effective they are and what a magical addition to your workout they can be. - 🍕So today I've got 4 squat variations to show you - 4 of my personal favorites - each of which trains your body in a different way to move better get stronger, leaner, faster, and more explosive. Try one, Merlins Beard, try 'em all! They're certainly not for the faint of heart but, not to worry, should anyone pass out I've got a fresh batch of mandrake juice brewing that'll be ready in a day or two. - 🦄1.5 Squats are a demonic tool in which every rep is really 1.5 reps. You go all the way down, half way up, all the way down, and all the way back up to complete a single rep. It burns the living horcruxes out of your quads and, believe you me, that's not something to joke about. - 🍕Pause Squats are simple - not easy - in that you pause for 2-4 seconds in the bottom position of every rep (which is great for improving maximum, starting, and explosive strength). - 🦄Box Squats are a great teaching tool for any witch or wizard who hasn't squatted much and/or has trouble finding their balance. 🦄As much as I love meat (chicken, beef, dragon) and fish (salmon, tuna, mermaid), there are many ways to increase your protein intake. - In this post I'll outline as many as I can so you can save it (↗️up there) and refer back anytime you need. - 🍕Meat & Poultry: chicken, turkey, beef, pork, bison, and deer are all quality options. (Dragon tail is my favorite but save it for special occasions). On a serious note, there's always rotisserie chicken, ground beef, and some bison in my fridge. Wicked convenient, very tasty. - 🏓Fish & Shellfish: salmon, tuna, haddock, cod, sole, butterfish, shrimp, lobster, clams, oysters, scallops, and a lot more. Impossible to go wrong with fish bc it's so low calorie, high protein, and has tons of health benefits. - 🏄🏼‍♀️Dairy: milk, yogurt, and cottage cheese are my favorites. Milk isn't *that* high in protein per calorie but it's not insignificant either. Greek yogurt and cottage cheese are tri-wizard champs, though, with tons of protein and very few cals. - 🎳Eggs: doesn't matter if it's chicken or ostrich or quale or dragon eggs, they're all high protein and have tons of health benefits. - 🐸Tofu, Tempeh, & Seitan are soy/wheat gluten-based and, no, soy is NOT bad for you. All my vegan/vegetarian clients crush these and get leaner and stronger while building muscle. The Asian grocery around the corner from my apartment makes fresh tofu and I eat it several times/week. - 🚗Beans, Lentils, & Edamame aren't the highest protein foods but they do have a significant amount (especially edamame which I crush at sushi) and if you're a vegetarian/vegan they should absolutely be a part of your daily nutrition. - 🎯Grab & Go proteins like jerky (beef, turkey, elf, etc) are huge if you travel a lot, like me, and need something quick and protein-packed that doesn't taste like butt. - 🗽Drinks from powders or pre-made ones like Core Power are life savers if you have trouble hitting your daily protein quota. #Repost @syattfitness ・・・ Without motivation we likely wouldn’t get started with much at all. - But relying on motivation is where most people go wrong. - It’s not easy to follow the starvation diet or cleanse or detox. But for a brief time (7 days, 21 days, 30 days) it’s doable. - Motivation will help you power through. - But eventually your motivation will dwindle from a roaring flame to a dull burn, at best. Extinguished, worst and more likely. And at that point you’ll revert to your habits. What your mind and body knows best. - And if you haven’t spent time creating new, healthy, sustainable habits...you’ll go back to what you did before. Usually until you “undo” all the progress you just made (and then some), and you get another boost in motivation - sick, tired and disgusted - to try again. - Listen. - Don’t get woo’d into the quick fix or rapid results or 7-day solution. - They rarely work. And almost always do more harm than good. - Take your time. Be patient. This isn’t a race. No need to rush. Relax. Deep breaths. Give yourself some leeway. Room to breath and make mistakes. - Because mistakes will happen. And that’s ok. It’s part of the process. By planning to make mistakes along the way, you eliminate the guilt you get when you go off track. And when you eliminate guilt, you eliminate the binges and feelings of failure that keep you from getting back on track. - Listen. - Take it slow. You’ve got all the time in the world. There’s no finish line. No race. Just time. - Take your time. 🔹I will be the first to tell you that I LOVE nuts! Cashews are my jam. - 🔹 But because nuts are high in fat, they are also high in calories. That doesn't mean you shouldn't eat them, it just means that you need to be mindful of how much you are eating. - 🔹I used to eat almonds by the handfuls per day. They were the “healthy” nut, so the more “healthy fat” the better, right? - 🔹Uhhh no. Not if you are trying to lose fat. - 🔹I was adding anywhere from 200-400 calories a day to my diet just from some handfuls of almonds. - 🔹Take a look at how many nuts make up 100 calories. Some surprises? For me there was. - 🔹Only 3 Brazil Nuts for 100 calories? Here's the thing-the chances of you (and me 😉) being at a party and eating only 3 Brazil Nuts is about zero. Super easy to overeat. - 🔹 I personally think of nuts more in a weight gain diet where you might need to add on calories ad opposed to a weight loss diet where you need to be more mindful of a calorie deficit. - 🔹That being said, if you love nuts, just work them in to your diet like any other food. You may end up choosing to spend your calories elsewhere and that's ok too. - 🔹If fat loss is your goal, a calorie deficit is still king, but you can make the numbers work and still eat some nuts, or any other food you love. FLEXIBLE DIETING FACT by @syattfitness - 🦄If you ever get nervous or anxious or beat yourself up for eating something "bad" or going over your calories, pay attention because this is important. - ☕️First, there is no such thing as a "good" food or "bad" food. "Right" food or "wrong" food. "Healthy" or "unhealthy." There is only food. And, yes, you can sometimes eat too much (or even too little). But there isn't a single food on this whole earth that is inherently good or bad. Hell, water is arguably the healthiest thing of all the things and even too much (or too little) of that will kill you. - 🦄Second, progress comes from consistency NOT rigidity. Often times we'll eat one "bad" thing and immediately go into self loathing mode. We'll think we failed and ruined all of our progress and have to start all over again. But, obviously, that's not true. In the same way no one has ever gotten skinny from eating a salad, no one ever got fat from eating a doughnut (or cake or pizza or oreos or whatever). - ☕️Progress takes time. And patience. Lots of both. FAT LOSS IS LIKE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT BY: @syattfitness - 🦄When most people talk about dieting & nutrition, they focus on the nitty gritty..the physiology..the metabolic processes..the nutrient profiles..blah blah blah. & that stuff is important - I would never argue otherwise. But what most people severely overlook is the SKILL of dieting, specifically the skill of being a flexible dieter. - ☕️Because here's the thing. Dieting & fitness as a whole, is a skill set. It's not *just* about calories, hormones & metabolism. It's also about your relationship with food. Your history with dieting & body image. It's your habits, emotions & mental side of the equation just as much (if not more than) the physical side. - 🦄Truth is, for most of us (myself included) it takes a muggle ton of time, effort & repeated failures to get to a point where you can be "intuitive" with your nutrition. It's easy to say, "just listen to your body!" But what does that mean? If you've yet to build a healthy relationship with food...how do you know what to listen to? How do you know what to trust? - ☕️Point being, the skill of fat loss & nutrition takes time to create - just like a bank account. You start at zero & for a while, you need to make sacrifices. Make a whole lot of "deposits" without getting much in return. But slowly, over time, the more you deposit the more leeway you have. The more you can indulge without stressing. The more you can "cheat" without bingeing. The faster you can get right back on track & maintain your progress without going backwards. - 🦄It's a skill. It's a process. It takes a lot of time, effort, dedication & patience. But just like saving & investing your money, it's worth it. #Repost @syattfitness ・・・ ☕️It's easy to get caught in the mindset of expecting see your strength go up every time you go to the gym. - 🦄Because, when you first start out, your strength *will* go up nearly every time you go to the gym. - 🦄But the stronger you get, the harder it gets to gain strength. - ☕️In the same way you can't expect to lose weight every time you step on the scale, you can't expect to gain strength every time you go to the gym. - 🦄And in the same way losing scale weight isn't the only way to know you're losing fat (measurements go down, bf goes down, clothes fit better, you feel better, look better in the mirror, etc)...adding weight to the bar isn't the only way to know you're getting stronger (use better form with the same weight, do more reps with the same weight, feel stronger with the same weight, get less fatigued, etc). - ☕️All of that aside, I want you to remember one very important point. - 🦄You probably got "hooked" on lifting because you loved it. You loved how it made you feel. You loved how empowering it was. You loved the process of getting stronger. - ☕️Now, if you find yourself getting stressed out or worried or concerned or angry or demotivated because you aren't getting as strong as you'd like as quickly as you'd like....take a step back and re-evaluate. - 🦄Breathe. Smile. Relax. - ☕️You do this because you love it. So don't let it become another stressor. Enjoy the process. Take it all in stride. #Repost @syattfitness ・・・ Simple doesn’t mean easy. - Simple doesn’t take you being tired, stressed or overwhelmed into consideration. - Simple doesn’t account for your birthdays, holidays, work events and get togethers. - Simple doesn’t mean you won’t have shitty days or be overwhelmingly tired or lose motivation. - Simple just means simple. - That, in theory, the process of fat loss is basic and easy to understand. - Which is true. Fat loss *is* simple. But easy? Not even close. - And it’s important to remember this because time and again you’ll be sold on pills and potions and powders and spells and charms and humdingers and doodads that make fat loss quick and easy and painless and fast. - It’s not. It’s a struggle. We can make it simpler and easier to understand. But there will always be struggles that come along with it. - Which is a good thing, I think. There’s something to be said for overcoming an obstacle. For trying and failing and trying and failing and never giving up until you succeed. That’s what makes this process so rewarding. If it were easy, you wouldn’t feel so good when you achieved your goal. - My point? Embrace the suck. Live for the struggle. Don’t let it overwhelm you or keep you down. Let it motivate you. - 💥WANT A LEG AND CORE CIRCUIT YOU CAN DO AT HOME?💥. - Well, I got a doozy for you, and the best part, is you don’t need any equipment. Now, you *could* weight all of these exercises (except the reaching plank - it’s perfect as-is) if you want to take this up a notch. - Here’s how I want you to try it: - ➡️4 Rounds - ✅Squats x 8. ✅Reverse Lunges x 8/leg. ✅Slow Russian Twists (like REALLY REALLY Slow) x 8/side. Have a tutorial on my Youtube Channel (Link in Bi0). ✅Single leg glute bridges x 8/leg (SQUUEEEZE YO Butt). ✅Single leg RDL x 8/leg. ✅Slow Reaching Plank - 3 x 8/side (super slow). - Try not to rest until after the slow reaching plank. - Want to up the challenge without upping the weight? Add 1/2 reps to everything! Holy Moly will that make a big difference - This circuit is great if you are short on time and can’t get to the gym, if you are traveling and don’t have access to a gym, or if you workout at home and don’t have any equipment. - Look, fitness is not an all or nothing thing. You don’t have to spend 2 hours at the gym. The cool thing is you can get creative, and make the best of your current or changing circumstances, and STILL MAKE PROGRESS! No matter what we said or how much evidence we provided, they’d be stuck in their teeny, tiny, dogmatic little box of opinions, too stubborn to even consider the possibility of there being another way to succeed. - 🦄So let’s do this. Let’s offer them a challenge, shall we? To every goblin & warlock & troll & flesh eating slug who wishes to bless us with their presence in the comments & say how wrong & stupid & dumb & ridiculous this is, I offer you a challenge. - ☕️Try it. Just..try it. - 🦄Think you can’t lose fat while eating “junk” even in a calorie deficit? Think you can’t lose fat while eating late at night even in a calorie deficit? ・ “How do I get more motivated?” - “What’s the key to motivation?” - “I get motivated at first but can’t figure out how to stay motivated long-term.” - Among, “what Hogwarts house were you in?” and “how is your butt so delightfully spacious?”...the most common question I get is, “how do I increase my motivation?” - It’s the wrong question, though. - You don’t need to figure out how to get or stay motivated. Motivation is a fickle fucker. It’ll up and leave quicker than it came...without warning or even a goodbye tushy tap for good luck. - Motivation doesn’t last. Ever. You will always fluctuate through highs and lows. Sometimes you’ll be more motivated than a two beaked Hippogriff eying a freshly caught slab of blibbering blubbery blast-ended skrewt. - Other times you’ll have no motivation at all and won’t be able to muster up an ounce no matter how hard you squeeze. - Listen. - There’s no magic trick or spell or potion or doodad that’ll crank up your motivation and keep it humming on high. - But there is something you should know. - If you find yourself needing motivation, consistency is your answer. - It’s a catch 22 because most people need motivation to be consistent. But most people don’t know this so their frame is different. Knowing this will give you massive power. - Consistency is the key to progress. Progress is the key to motivation. And motivation is the key to consistency. - So, listen. - If you’re lacking in motivation, challenge yourself to be consistent for a set period of time. No BS. No excuses. It can be 7 days for all I care. 5 days, even. Just pick a time frame to be 100% consistent and follow it to a T. - You will see progress. You will get more motivated. 🦄It's not sexy or marketable or a lucrative business model to say this but it's the truth --> There isn't a single "best" way to workout. There isn't one "right" way to exercise. And regardless of what you choose, the most important thing, above all else, is you enjoy it. Because if you hate what you're doing, you won't be consistent. And if you aren't consistent, you won't make progress. - ☕️Keep in mind, I'm a powerlifter. I competed at an elite level for years. I was also brought up using kettlebells and TRX and doing yoga, as well. The exercises on the "bad" side aren't "bad." They're simply there as examples to make clear it does not matter what you do so long as you enjoy it and, with time and patience, it delivers on results. - 🦄Find what you love. Do it with vigor and passion and determination and patience. Preferably once/day (maybe twice...three times if you're feeling like a tri-wizard champ). Struggling with consistency? Eat plenty of fresh fruits, oatmeal, and even a goblet full of unicorn magic can help (@unicornmagiccoffee). - 2️⃣Move Daily. Doesn't have to be intense. A walk, even. Just do something. Because something is always better than nothing. - 3️⃣Sleep Well. Easier said than done. But if you're having trouble going to bed, leave your phone out of your room. You're the boss - it's up to you. - 4️⃣Eat Balanced (not strict). For sure, most of your diet should be fruits and veggies and lean proteins and whole, unprocessed foods. But don't feel bad for sneaking in a treat every now and again. - 5️⃣Don't Take Yourself Too Seriously. Life is short and fun and don't let your fitness/nutrition become a full time job. Relax, have fun with it, enjoy the process. - 6️⃣Have Sex. A lot. The more the better. Because a couple times/week has been proven to be very good for us.
