Why Kuviren and Startrix are literally the same ship in different fonts: a brief exploration bc I'm once again bored while staying at my grandma's

(Alternatively: Are you seriously comparing the complex and borderline toxic character development arc chock full of trauma and healing that is Kuviren to a colourful pony show meant for 7 year olds? Yes, yes I am)

Let's play a game. I'm going to describe the characters in a ship and you'll have to guess which ship I'm talking about:

On one hand you have the ex-dictator who took her childhood trauma and turned it into a political ideation. Absolutely convinced she's doing the right thing and that anyone who opposes her should be crushed. Repressing all feelings to the max. At the culmination of her arc she near damn tears the whole fucking world apart before being saved by the main character after a tearful discussion of said childhood trauma that was turned into a political ideation.

On the other you have an absolute cringefail girlfailure. Feels like she's the worst so always acts like she's the best and will continue walking around with an artificially inflated ego until it literally blows up in her face. So caught up in her own goals and issues she doesn't realise she's hurting the people who care about her. Reckless to a fault and very quick to make decisions on a whim with no regard for possible consequences.

Both of them are absolute menaces to society who absolutely should not have been allowed to meet because the two of them as a duo can and will destroy the world if they so choose. And yet, they're both each other's first real friend and somehow, them being together balances each of them out. They're both key elements to the other's road to redemption. They always stick together despite countless arguments in which they can seriously hurt each other, because ultimately they're better together and are both very, very glad they've met.

If you can't figure out whether I'm talking about Kuviren or Startrix it's because that was a trick question, all of those things apply to both ships. At first I really didn't understand what loa bloggers meant when they said that anons can sometimes be pretty annoying and honestly before really taking my loa blog seriously I never knew what they meant til now and honestly this THIS first reason is why I'm so upset with yall anons right now. If you tell your client to keep looking for something of a certain color, and they're willing to bend definitions based on what you guys guess cat spectrum looks like, they're going to look for something that matches it. The fact that there was something purple-adjacent with the kittens that calms her is like. It's her kittens, dumb dumb.

Cats don't see purple. An off-purple blanket will be green or blue to it. The furthest they can see is blue-violet, which kinda replaces their purple end of spectrum. An almost-purple will not adjust to be More Purple To It. It's the other way around. They cannot see red hues.

Shealyn this is literally the same reason your own red-orange spectrum is fucked up sweetie, STOP DISASSOCIATING YOURSELF INTO CATS AND TRYING TO PROVE YOU CAN CHANNEL THEM.

No seriously THE most generous reading of cat ability to see purple is something like this. Hence it being considered blue-violet, and this is a partial human compromise, because you'll notice the red spectrum is absent from it. But we estimate their deep blues may have a quality similar to violet at that end of their spectrum, but it's all blurred into the blue. And the funny thing is she's probably gonna squint at this chart because her own red color spectrum is all fucked so she's not gonna know where the red is different and she's not gonna be sure where the almost purple on cat creeps in at all. But there's nothing that'd make it More Purple. Our most intense harsh purples and violets might look... Faded Blurple to them, maybe. A not quite purple blanket? lmao sis that cat thinks that blanket is blue.

The chart gives that much because there's been studies about Exactly This, since they seem to be able to distinguish "purple" from "grey", but since they lack red cones, it's believed to negotiate into the blue-violet receptors, since they lack red receptors entirely. They don't necessarily SEE purple, but can differentiate that it's Not Grey. The compromise is basically cats see anything purple as a drab, muted blend of blue and gray, rather than a vivid violet. And cats rely more on brightness cues than color.

I point out a thousand times Athena is hers internally and this almost explains Shea's own colorblindness on spectrum and her habit of oversaturating everything. Because that purple is actually considered magenta spectrum, and was always the color I tried to teach her about Lu, kinda like my blog but gentler, but because I used a soft version, she couldn't see it, and either only used harsh violet or sharp magentas.

No, dead ass. I'm not kidding. Lu used to use a faded mauve font on black backgrounds, so it was a very light one, and she somehow saw that shit as a weird magenta. Or violently overcompensated her reds. Like I said, mass overcompensation. She self-admitted she just sort of pissed in the dark and guessed on her paint program color wheel.

He also wore black fingerless gloves a lot, but she oversaturated those to purple too. I think she just guessed there should be color on it cuz he's Very Colorful.

Or like how she fucked thoth's color, blurpled his talons for some reason (cuz she wasn't perceiving SHIT even with reference art), got confused on the purple highlights, and did this shit (left compared to her right reference) Repeat: She self-admitted she just sort of pissed in the dark and guessed on her paint program color wheel.

Her attempt at estimating where reds are in her self admitted blind spectrum made her make blue marks purple. Very weirdly sketchy unstable purple. That looks awful on that yellow despite them being good contrast colors in general, but she has no scale. Cuz her sense of saturation is fucked. Like a cat. Repeat: She self-admitted she just sort of pissed in the dark and guessed on her paint program color wheel. like. what is purple??? is it what blue likes like when it's shadowy?

Well almost. On the black background a bit more red spectrum looked better, but on neutral backgrounds scaling out the red looks better. So there was a bit more red vibrancy like the mobile background, but it was lighter in shade like the full PC blog on the left, because the black background of the chat site needed more brightness to be readable. So like, these two, she color wheel shit in the dark into the right, basically. The jacket that's ALMOST the right color for darker purple? Was supposed to be black leather. Because, like the gloves, she oversaturated her colors in.

but my point stands

She would show up with one part of her outfit that was salmon pink and one part that was traffic cone orange and think she was in all pink. Cuz her idea of pink and red starts at orange. And her idea of purple starts at blurple. And her idea of saturation is half scale. So she pisses into the wind guessing on a color wheel and then shits out oversaturated colors.

It really depends on what I'm writing, and if there's a deadline involved.

If I need to work quick and the stuff I'm writing isn't too dense, I'll usually do a few passes and try to edit as a whole whenever I see mistakes. I take the time to try find spelling mistakes, plot inconsistencies and make sure I'm happy with the general flow of it all.

But if I've got the time and I'm going through one of my larger works, I try to spend time away from my work before I edit. I find that when I'm working so much with my writing, I end up just memorising what I've written and not ACTUALLY seeing things critically in order to edit effectively, so I need time away to lose that short term memory of it and come back with fresh eyes. Usually a day or two is good, giving me time to think like a soup getting reduced to its best parts. When I come back to edit I do multiple passes, usually focusing on one main thing each time so I don't let anything slip through the cracks. Generally, I go rythmn/flow/grammar > plot (does it all actually make sense) > character (making sure dialogue sounds like them, the atmosphere is set up right) > final pass. To help with this: CHANGE THE LITERAL WAY IT LOOKS. Idk if you've heard this before, but seriously, give it a try. Change what font you're using while you edit, change the size so that it changes the spacing and where the words physically ARE on the page! I'll even invert colours (I usually work on dark mode) or turn it into a pdf and hand write all over it on my iPad- on rare occasions I'll even use a screen reader so that I can just hear it on my final passes and make sure it all sounds ok, though that's a bit tricky cause crappy robot voice is crappy lol.

Because I'm soooo deeply picky with it, it's a struggle to find people who are a good match as beta readers/to help with editing, so that's why I take on so much myself. When I've done my final pass is probably the only time I can let other eyes onto it seriously, as my writing can be messy af and only I will understand what I meant lol. But, with the multiple passes I try to do, I can catch most things, and aiming for 2-3 passes minimum is usually good! The key of it all is separating the creative and critical headspace, as you can't create critically and can't be critically creative. They're both necessary to creating something, but you can't do them at the same time...

How do you combat writer's block?

I feel like my writers block is very different from what other people describe... Usually when I'm facing a block, I KNOW she l where things need to go, or I've got a scene written down but it just doesn't come across right, and it's more about me struggling to find the words and tone that I need. I tend to take ages because of this, and I absolutely agonise over what I'm working on, and the biggest part that trips me up is being autistic lol. Autism isn't only a detriment though, as there are parts of my writing style and just the general way I approach it that I can only do because of Autism and the way that storytelling and media is sort of a special interest. If I'm really struggling, I just have to leave it alone and not write, which hurts.

But, because I write extensive notes for myself, and no longer try to write 'in order,' it's easier to just get stuff done if I put something on the page. Can't edit a blank page, so I'll just try to write something when I'm able and come back to it later...

Let’s remember that Will has been paralleled to Vecna multiple times.

They are both described as sensitive kids, who feel different and rejected by society. They're both artistic too.

El is also a sensitive girl, who feels different and rejected by society! Will and El are literally the definition of different people, same font.

It would not be surprising if Will had powers and mental abilities like them.

Besides, remember he's the cleric (a wizard) of the group and El is the mage. Will has been called the cleric even before meeting El.

Trapped in the UD, Will tries to find some way to escape, to get back home. As he realizes he’s not at home, he tries to contact Joyce.

He’s hiding in his house (in the UD) and… can use the phone to call to his (real) house in Hawkins? Yes, there’s electricity in the UD but, how is he able to call his own phone?

That call creates so much energy that the telephone suddenly explodes.

Joyce now knows that Will is alive. Will knows she knows, and tries to find new ways to get her attention.

Calling again is not enough because the energy will always make the phone explode. Besides, he is hiding, so he can not talk or make any noise. So, he needs to find another way. That’s when he starts to turn the stereos on and to use the lights.

We know that when there are any light sources in Hawkins, you can manipulate them from the UD with the particles.

But there were so many light signals that were just impossible for Will to do in a physical way. They were so fast and unreachable for him.

Like, seriously, how was Will able to do that?

Or guiding Joyce through the house when he was hiding in the cupboard? Will couldn't even reach those lights, he was not that tall yet.

When Joyce tries to contact him using the christmas lights, she says “blink one if the answer is yes, twice if it’s no”

We’ve been shown in comics that Will did not touch the lights, he literally blinked his eyes!

Besides, how could he tell Joyce to run using the alphabet in the wall if he was still hiding?

And in a desperate moment, he’s able to actually open a portal?

Or to create a mental illusion of a portal? He could enter Joyce's mind? He can create visual illusions just like Kali (008)? or he can open his own gates?

So, Will, being trapped in the UD, under desperation and stress, realized he got powers and learnt how to use them (at least to keep contact with Joyce and survive the UD).

Will could perfectly see, listen and touch her. She was not just a vision for him. He was not sensing her. She was there for him. He could perfectly touch her.

Days later, when the group almost saved Will, El looked for him in the UD to know where he was hiding, then she found him in Castle Byers.

oof the pd48 scandal is extremely complicated. to condense it in a few statements: all of the girls' rankings have been rigged since the very beginning and it was rumored that they already had their end group before the show even started. it was like this for pf48 and pdx101 (group x1) which was why x1 disbanded within a month of debuting, and izone were on hiatus for like 4 months. im not the best at explaining stuff like this haha, but i think you get it. you can check out yt or search up 'pd48 scandal', a ton of articles and videos. as for new groups, nothing has been made clear yet. theyve only made instagram handles for now and appeared on variety shows haha. as for acting career, hyewon was supposed to do acting but was forced to join pd48 so maybe she'll continue acting afterwards? nothing is confirmed yet!
