Sanemi was steadily helping you to lean against his shoulder while his arms were wrapped beneath yours, trying to drag you down the streets, back to your home. He doesn’t step into the role of a caretaker often, but after watching you down drinks after drinks alongside the birthday-boy Uzui, he was already mentally preparing himself to finally pay you back for all the times you took care of him, physically and mentally. It’s the least he could do for you in his eyes, taking care of you while you are drunk. He had already stayed near you all evening, making sure that you don’t seriously overdo it and end up with alcohol poisoning, silently glaring at Tengen for again pouring you another drink. Sanemi was never fond of alcohol drinks and decided to stick to his green tea. Someone has to stay sober and make sure everyone is being responsible, right?

By the time you were stumbling away from the former sound hashira’s mansion, your husband steadied you carefully while you kept trying to wiggle out of his grasp, assuring him that you can totally walk on your own. Dragging you home and making sure that you don’t trip or decide that running off is a suitable option for you as well. You didn’t notice how Sanemi’s grip tightened on you as you complained about going home so soon, wanting to stay a little longer at the birthday party to celebrate more. By the time you two arrived back home, it was way past midnight. Your husband guided you to sit down while he prepared a small meal for you, scolding you to drink the glass of water he handed you slowly but surely, threatingly pointing his wooden spoon at you while standing by the stove.

“You’re so mean to meee! You’re lucky I like your pretty face.”

“Mhm, just drink your damn water.”

It’s a little ironic to him how Sanemi usually is spending his nights beating the shit out of demons, dragging himself home and almost falling asleep in the shower while you scrub his bloody back. Sometimes, despite how exhausted and how much you want to sleep right now, you still drag yourself to the kitchen and prepare a small meal for him so that he doesn’t have to go to bed hungry. You know that your husband would be too exhausted to make something himself, preferring to sleep. Despite how annoyed and pissed he seems with you right now because of how drunk you are, Sanemi still gladly takes care of you.

He always felt like he was taking more than he was giving in your relationship, taking your affections for granted, barely having any time for you due to his hashira duties and never really acknowledging how much you are doing for him. While holding the glass of water to your lips you still haven’t finished, his fingers carefully brushing over your rosy cheeks as a way to gently coax you into finally drinking at least a little bit of water. The quick meal he whipped up wasn’t anything too fancy, Sanemi feeding you with chopsticks while you lazy lean back against the chair, ready to crash into bed and hibernate until the late afternoon. Now you’re thankful for Sanemi dragging you home so early.

A shower he was planning on forcing you to take has to wait until later, you’re basically half asleep in your chair by the time he finished feeding you. Carrying you to bed was much easier than dragging you away from Tengen’s estate, your body basically limp in his arms while he carried you to bed. Your arms were lazily wrapped around his neck, playing a little with the hair on the back of his head while dreamily staring at your husband’s handsome face. My, was he always this hot? Or is the way Sanemi is removing your sweaty clothes just really turning you on? Before you could even open your mouth, your husband carefully helped you lay down properly onto your mattress, tucking you in with the cosiest sheets he could find. You grinned at him.

“What’re ya staring at?”

“The hottest man in the whole world.”

You relaxed under his touch as he ran his thick fingers through your hairstrands, detangling your hair a little while his eyes glossed over your features. Sanemi gave you a small hum of acknowledgement before leaning down to you, placing a soft kiss on your forehead. A small giggle escaped your lips as you weakly tried pulling the warm body of your husband closer for a cuddle. He didn’t even try to protest despite him still being dressed in his street clothes.

“I gotta change, bug.”

“Mh, no. Dooooon’t caaaree.”

Sanemi groaned in annoyance but never made an attempt to move away or escape your grasp. The tension in his body slowly began to disappear the longer your body pressed against his. He lazily kicked his shoes off and slipped beneath the sheets, giving up on fighting against your drunk stubbornness.

“Just sleep, will ya?”

“As long as you stay here.”

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he began to smile slightly. He moved closer to you, burying his face into your warm neck, closing his eyes in exhaustion.

“I ain’t going nowhere, promise.”

I always feel so incredibly honoured when I receive art for my fics— when I first started posting on tumblr, I set some small goals for me to archive while being active on here: get over 100 followers, get a post to 1.000 interactions, get requests and get my favourite authors to like my works— one of those goals was to receive fanart or art for my works, and the first time erexart offered to make a banner for one of my posts, I can’t describe how happy I felt XD Once I gathered enough (like a goblin), I’ll make a small post collecting every piece of media I received from others— may it be art from you guys or own little fan-works or whatever, I always feel incredibly honoured to receive anything.

I apologise if this may sound desperate or demanding, I just feel like I don’t express my appreciation for you guys enough XD

Not a question, but I came here because I just have endless praise for this entire fic. I literally haven't stopped thinking about it for days!!

I'm gonna be honest, I watched mutant mayhem on opening day and didn't think too much about it. I grew up on tmnt, I'm a huge fan of 2012, rise, I've seen every movie out there but this one didn't hit the same at first. The only reason I read reciprocity was because I saw some of its amazing fanart and it made me curious (I also rarely read fics lol) but when I started I read the entire thing in less than a week. It's made me appreciate mutant mayhem a lot more, especially Raph and Leo, and now I can't wait for not only more of your fic but also tottmnt and the sequel in 2026!! Thanks for your amazing work AND for converting me into a fan 😭

Like wow, I am SO flattered! This is kind of making my heart explode because I really, really, really love this movie, and this makes me feel like I'm sharing that love in a way that's drawing someone else in 😭

Even though I love it so much, I completely understand why other people didn't love or even like Mutant Mayhem. It's super different and a huge departure from traditional TMNT media in many ways.

But for me, there's just so much about it that tickles my brain in a way I can hardly describe. I still remember seeing the first trailer and feeling like a switch had been flipped inside my head. I just like, instantly knew this was going to be The Thing For Me. I could go on and on and on about how much I love Mutant Mayhem and why, but one of the most important things I learned in film school about storytelling was "show, don't tell." I've been trying to "show" all of these reasons in my writing, and I'm so so SO happy to hear that it's is coming through in Reciprocity.

I'm also super grateful for all of the incredible fan art that people have made, or to those who've posted about/shared things about the fic that have drawn others into giving Reciprocity a try.

hii! i love your all your fics and clinic was the fic that got me into fanfiction 💕 A couple weeks ago i started a clinic!wilbur piece that i was gonna send to you on your birthday (ik august is a long time away but i was giving myself time incase of art block) but since the recent wilbur situation ive decided to change the character that i was drawing and wanted your input because this drawing is prettu much gonna be a birthday gift! please don’t worry about sounding like a fanboy i really enjoy and appreciate it

my creative process is sort of …hard to explain. some of my ideas are fully original, but i’d say about 2/3 of them are at least partly inspired by other media; a few times it’s been other fics, but usually it’s fanart or sometimes i decide to yoink the framework of an idea form a movie or tv show or game to build around and make my own. my creative brain is just going 24/7, so i’m always taking in new ideas, its just that most of them don’t inspire me and get thrown out, but the ones that do inspire me get filed away for later

my ideas list for fics is very long right now. as you could imagine

i’ve also found that there’s a sweet spot between ‘writing an idea as soon as i get it’ and ‘sitting on an idea so long i have no motivation.’ if i write the second i have an idea, it won’t be developed enough, and i’ll get stuck trying to smooth out all the rough patches as i write, which will discourage me because ill get frustrated trying to force it. i like to let my ideas marinate a bit, give me time to do some mental planning and naturally develop the ideas to patch up all the plot holes. then i write when it feels natural to, instead of making myself because i haven’t written in a while. for me it’s all about just trusting my mind and writing only when i have the energy, motivation, and inspiration, because forcing myself just gets me nowhere

basically, i just try to keep my mind open, because ideas are everywhere if you look, and i let myself work at my own pace

also i’ve been writing since…basically forever? for as long as i can remember, even when my age was in the single digits, i constantly created original characters and wrote stories about and with both them and characters from my favorite TV shows (which at the time was like. TMNT and wild kratts). i only started getting serious and posting my writing + writing smut like two years ago though, but even since then i’ve come a loooong way. i’m much better at writing sex scenes now. holy shit, i used to be terrible 😭😭 but we all have to start somewhere i guess

A little bit late on this one bUT, when I saw that one of week two's activities for Pedro Summer Camp was to create a piece of fanart for a fic we love, I almost immediately thought of your work. garu & karu- 1, 9, 21, 23, 25

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

(lying down on the shrink's couch) Well, to start with I have a thing for characters that are obsessive about their love interest. My favorite characters in this game are the ones hopelessly devoted to Eiden. I also have a thing for impulsiveness (instinct...) and a certain degree of stupidity that makes them need guidance from others. I love how they wear their heart on their sleeve and are full of energy. And of course, bratty Karu is a perfect target for my punishment and humiliation kinks. Is the red flag hoisted high enough yet-

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

Probably not. It would be neat if Garu was willing to do every chore in exchange for praise, but there's also the fact that Karu would be insufferable to deal with in real life. I like peace and quiet.

21. What's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

It's hard to pick one favorite thing... I have several habits that keep coming up. I like to have Karu's internal narration betray him. I love to have Karu's body betray him (and generally to describe the lewd reactions of their body). Having Karu use fancy words. Adding grarrs to dialogue. Having Garu constantly present his ass. Constantly mentioning kuyaru. Giving them no stamina. Yaoi fluids. Emphasizing the size of their dick 😭 I think that among all of those, my favorite thing is describing their arousal.

Something I don't like... broadly, I suppose I don't like to take them too seriously lmao. I'm not fond of angst and hurt/comfort. I get that to some people it may be interesting to analyze Karu's personality in light of their backstory trauma, and to have healing narratives in which he learns to trust and such. Not interesting to me, at least in comparison to pointing and laughing at cute wolfboy being silly.

23. Favorite picture of this character?

From the game itself, Karu looks breathtaking in the second room of Forgotten Fruit. And of course all their towel moments in Fanciful Cappricio (I'm an enjoyer of nudity, you'll never see me agreeing that sometimes being covered up is sexier).

Fanart... man. T1GER's piece of Garu in heat showing his whole ass impacted me so much I had to write a fic, I think I'm picking it. Though I also adore Ivan's kuyaru art. Despite those standouts, my favorite GaruKaru drawings overall are ray's (whose Karu pillow humping picture also made me write)

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

I got Garu in my first pulls, before I really understood much about the game. I didn't understand the 'two wolves inside him' thing at first, but he seemed cute. When I reached chapter 7, it was on sight. I was down bad. I still have the "are you praising me? Well go on then" screenshot, which I took while absolutely smitten. I'd say my impression of them has not changed at all two years later LOL
