People started looking at her strangely, despite her best attempts at blending in, so she'd decided the best course of action was to tail an earthling and mimic to the best of her abilities.

“But then you went inside your house so I had to wait outside for you to come out again.” She smiles, hoping it'll put the woman at ease. She's gotten much better at smiling now. Drax said she didn't look nearly as hideous as she used to. “Now that you're here, what do you people—I mean, what do we people—eat here? Everything looks so different from my home pl—country.”

there it is again:   that familiar feeling she gets in the pit of her stomach every time diana smiles at her—   or when she says something like that,   something that seems to easy to say yet pippa wouldn’t expect it from even those she thinks she’s closest with.    she does love her friends, but when she's around diana, it's not lost on her that there's so much about her that they can't even begin to understand. it's not like pippa's trying to open up, either; having friends at all is still new to her, which is what she tries to remind herself when diana is the one making her feel so nervous yet so giddy. that's normal, right?

needless to say, she relates. still, as depressing it is to really think about how much of herself she puts into the job on a daily basis, buffy makes it hard to keep a straight face. whether allison wants to admit it or not, she's come to appreciate the dose of playfulness the other brings to their occasional, somewhat reluctant partnership. it's a breath of fresh air. & it's much needed in places like this, where the atmosphere is heavy to say the least. " that's what you get for not sucking at this. " it's the closest thing to a compliment she's given her so far, wearing a small smile & an arched eyebrow as she gingerly touches the tip of one of buffy's stakes before handing it back to her. " maybe you should consider one of those 'closed' signs. slap it on your door every once in a while. "

the mention of ice cream has her perk up a little. & the mint chocolate chip suggestion nearly makes her excited. Friends. About 2-3 weeks ago I went to the gas station and came across a shelf of kinda cheap toys. The most expensive thing on there was $4.99 and it was a plush keychain shaped like a pack of ramen. At the time I did not have the money but I couldn’t stop thinking about him. When I went in the other day, the toys were gone. 😭 Today I got gas and went in for a soda and a Randy Savage Slim Jim because my meager royalties arrived, and who should be by the soda machine but RAMEN-SAN!!! I ditched the slim jim and got this lil guy, who it turns out is hard as heck to find online. So YAY FOR RAMEN-SAN!!!

Erica stretches out her feet in front of her, kicking up one Prada boot over the other. They're vintage. They belonged to some pale runway model 'til they ended up with her. She considers the mess if she kicks her leg up, lodges the leather boot into Allison's mouth. No. She'd rather not get spit all over her new shoes, actually.

She snaps her jaws, something beast-like in her displeasure. “And I'm one of the few people who's willing to put up with you even when you get like this, so let's not pretend I'm the charity case.”

She suspects sometimes that Allison just likes the power play, likes to remind Erica of her place in the world, in this relationship. Allison Arg𝖾nt reigns on her lonesome throne, and dogs like Erica remain beneath her.

“Why're you getting so tetchy? Is it your time of the month soon? You feeling uncomfortable? You need a nap? Hot chocolate? Cuddles?” Erica sneers.
