happy [chosen-by-me] birthday, lana 💕 our girl is 39 today, if we're playing by the rules of "time" and "logic" rather than "tumblr rp".

house gone quiet.
dialogue prompts from house gone quiet: stories by kelsey norris.
be strong.
how long does a sense of home take to build?
have you ever seen anyone faint?
you can live better now.
i was described as 'reserved and basically harmless'.
my doctor said to take it easy for a while.
i don't remember hitting the ground.
a missing girl is missed for ever; a dead one, for a while.
a home is only who's inside of it, and what they do to keep each other.
i believe you. always.
what makes you think _____'s cheating?
you're hopeless in the fashion department.
i just worry i'm wasting all my potential.
dreams take time and energy.
what's the thing you'd do if you could?
my dream's not so big, not so wild.
this life is hard, and the best things don't come easy.
no harm in a little gossip.
what's the point of repentance if you're always good? might as well earn it.
you're not catholic, are you?
gossip is a coward's truth. i won't see it any other way.
will you tell me your favorite memory of your father?
you're normally very good at knowing what to say.
grief can be abundant, but so is love.
let's not say anything we're gonna regret.
you've pulled me out of some dark holes.
if you go looking for problems, you're more than likely to find them.
when someone tells you who they are, believe them.
i was a kid once. i know the tricks.
a little chaos could be good for me.
kids: it's always something new, isn't it?
resistance is tiring.
fulfillment is a destination, not a path.
when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.
are you a ghost?
do you have a particular belief system, or just everyone else's?
shame and regret are fundamentally restrictive emotions.
a wished for thing can still be heavy.
the rains will come. they're coming even now.
it's hard to separate the want to be wanted from want itself.
nostalgia for the past is a white preoccupation.
i'd like to be in love.
impersonation leads to belief.

what does your soul look like? the crowned skull.
You are a leader, whether you wanted to be or not. You have been burdened by a purpose greater than yourself. All sense of identity has been buried beneath the necessity of duty. Sacrifice is normalcy to you, and every day you trade away pieces of yourself to serve. The people who follow you cannibalize you. They take, and take, and take. But you are no pushover. You have a just mind, and lead with a firm hand. You are a terror to some and hope to others. A tyrant to your dissidents, but a savior to your loyalists. Rarely will they praise you, and often will you suffer the blame for their own failings. But it is your job to bear it all. Who are you beneath the responsibilities? You wouldnt know; it is a thing grown from your bones themselves. Duty is a burden you will never escape, no matter what form it takes. How long before it breaks you?
#quizzes.#you know clark and lana and lex would probably all score the same thing on this quiz. much to consider

There should be a word for the microscopic spark of hope that you dare not entertain in case the mere act of acknowledging it will cause it to vanish, like trying to look at a photon. You can only sidle up to it, looking past it, walking past it, waiting for it to get big enough to face the world.

i wanted to show tori the pilot of lois and clark (1993) and i just. completely forgot that it's about our local Genius Billionaire trying to privatize the space program to set up colonies 😵💫
it's like... i realize the whole franchise has always been extremely unsubtly anticapitalist, so it should not shock me, but. too close, man! too close!

WHAT COLOUR IS YOUR AURA?
GREEN. climbing ivy, snake eyes, frogs, rainboots, koi ponds, abandoned places, clovers. your essence is green: you are bright-eyed and cerebral, unearthing questions. you are devoted to your pride; you struggle to feel worthwhile if you do not have any answer for everything. it is hard for you to not fixate intensely and be certain you are not mundane. you are the orator. you are the totem. you find kinship in like-minded individuals of forest, sage, chartreuse, and jade, who share your desire to learn. you are also drawn to the creative souls blue and orange, who will help you grow and know it is okay to stay guessing. however, you may struggle to get along with the bleeding heart personalities of pink and yellow who are too wrapped up in pleasing others.

i did try to make it clear in my [wip! i must keep stressing because. i hate it] carrd through omission, but since i am unsurprisingly interacting with more canons than usual this week, particularly clarks:
i do read a lot of comics and watch a lot of stuff and i do borrow liberally from Whatever I Enjoy/whatever suits me --- so i obviously do, have, like, my little #visions. but i don't expect them to apply to every instance of every character. that would be boring (and probably seemingly would come out of nowhere for a lot of people, because lana is extremely underutilized and often a caricature) (which i genuinely am not bitter about, That's Comics, but it is what it is!). like, i wanna world-build. i am here to compromise. all i expect is that you don't bring assumptions to the table about my portrayal, and --- of course --- i'll act accordingly.
#cl*na shippers AND l*xana shippers have made me so incredibly paranoid about how people see me i'm like. I'm Normal I Promise#but yeah. that still applies to other characters too

i've been out of town but i will be home later this afternoon and i'm planning to be around here more, again, so! giving this messy post a little boost. until then ---
i never posted lana's carrd because i kept being like, "it's too conversational" (only way i could get myself to write the thing) and i keep meaning to re-wire and refine it. so i have to say that. but also, since today is so full of unexpected super-joy, here. at least i can offer a passable rundown of [gestures vaguely] what's up. and i WOULD really like to get some plotting going 😌

I can't get over this little girl.....pretending to be long dead while someone digs up her body out of the ground. The jewelry laid out beside her...the hair clips....this is everything
#this kind of behavior is exactly the reason no one invited lana to sleepovers. just so everyone is aware of that#the only home i've ever known is ashes now.
