@antares-8 i didn't finish any Big things but at least i have some sketches and character models and such... and one (1) storyboard! i figured it was high time i finally unload all this art.

i really want to do an animatic to the song soldier poet king by the oh hellos (i even made a special remix version of it for the project) but i don't know if i have the juice in me for the whole project. but regardless! art will be made! rejoice!

We’re two hours into the workday, and so far it’s been a breath of fresh air compared to the past couple days. The weather is gorgeous, and I’ve got the office to myself — though I don’t get to go to church today, I can prop the door open and let the fresh air in and do as I please. On top of that, I got another GFM donation — I’m close to making up what I had to give to my mom! So today has been, so far, a much needed reprieve for my mental well-being.

In even more exciting news: Untarnished is officially back in production!! No ETA on Chapter 5 still, but I’ve made actual progress on it for the first time since like December. I’ll keep working hard to make up for my sluggish 2025 output thus far!

And I miiiiiiiiiight have a mini-fic with the bros coming up as well… but it’s ridiculously self-indulgent, so don’t get too excited, I’m not actually sure how much of an audience it’ll have. But it’ll be chock-full of wholesome brotherly love all the same!

Summary: “Great news, though—well, actually, it may depend how you define ‘great.’” Wei Wuxian folds himself into a cross-legged position and makes a sweeping gesture with one arm toward the closet, from which Lan Wangji can now hear a strange rattling noise. “While you were gone I managed to catch another one!” “Another . . . cat?” Lan Wangji pulls the closet door open wider and stares at the cage he finds there, inside of which a small black cat is clinging to the ceiling bars with all the desperation of a cornered wild animal. “That’s Volcano!” Wei Wuxian says by way of explanation. “She’s a little spicy.” OR: 5 times wangxian's feral kittens get in the way of lan wangji proposing + 1 time they help Kay's comments: I for one think that Tectonic Plate is a wonderful name for a cat. This story is a lot of fun and very cute and Wangxian are such cat people. Love seeing them having to interact with a fluffle of half-feral kittens and I really enjoy Lan Wangji's POV in this. He's so funny! If only he was allowed to propose to his boyfriend! Excerpt: Lan Wangji shakes his head. An urgent care trip to treat Jiang Cheng’s idiocy doesn’t exactly set the right tone for a romantic evening, so Lan Wangji has already written off the idea of proposing tonight. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll order takeout when you return.” Wei Wuxian grins and plants a very welcome kiss on Lan Wangji’s mouth that doesn’t go unnoticed by Jiang Cheng, who pretends to gag. Lan Wangji ignores him and pulls Wei Wuxian in for a second kiss, mostly out of love but perhaps partly out of spite. Lan Wangji lets out a small sigh after the brothers depart, feeling like the perfect proposal is once again slipping out of his reach. Is he just going to keep postponing this dinner date for eternity? He can’t bring himself to blame Volcano, though. Biting Jiang Cheng is a very reasonable thing to do in her position. Lan Wangji can’t say that he wouldn’t be tempted if he were a cat. And if he gives Volcano a couple extra treats when he goes in to feed them some wet food, that’s no one’s business but his own.

On 30 September 1965, the Indonesian military, working closely with the US government, initiated a coup that would depose President Sukarno and install the brutal, 30-year dictatorship of General Suharto.

In the dark years that followed, the dictatorship massacred over a million Indonesian communists, with the CIA and US diplomats drawing up “kill lists” for the Indonesian military. The operation would become a template for the US’s regime change operations for decades to come.

In 1945, President Sukarno led Indonesia to independence from Dutch colonial rule. He championed the Non-Aligned Movement and hosted the historic Bandung Conference, a meeting of Afro-Asian states, in 1955.

Opening the conference and forecasting what was to come, Sukarno said: “We are often told ‘Colonialism is dead’. Let us not be deceived or even soothed by that… Colonialism also has its modern dress, in the form of economic control, intellectual control, actual physical control by a small, but alien community within a nation.”

By 1965, Indonesia possessed one of the world's largest communist parties, the PKI. The PKI had a mass membership and mobilized vast numbers of people in the battle against Indonesia’s ruling class.

Terrified by the strength and organization of Indonesia’s people, the Indonesian military’s 30th September Movement began to purge the PKI.

In the early hours of 1 October, a group of military conscripts murdered six high-ranking generals. Blaming the deaths on the PKI, Suharto used the attacks as a pretext to seize power. CIA communications equipment allowed him to spread false reports around the country and begin a long campaign of anti-communist propaganda.

The US had tried to overthrow Sukarno for years; in 1958, the CIA backed armed regional rebellions against the central government. In 1965, they did all they could to aid Suharto’s murderous power grab.

The campaign soon became genocidal. On islands like Bali, up to 10% of the population was massacred — and luxury hotels soon began to appear over the killing fields.

One US embassy staffer told the US press that Suharto’s military “probably killed a lot of people, and I probably have a lot of blood on my hands, but that's not all bad.”

Time Magazine referred to the killings as “the West’s best news for years in Asia”.

A cable from the US embassy’s first secretary, Mary Vance Trent, to the State Department referred to events in Indonesia as a “fantastic switch which has occurred over 10 short weeks”. It also included an estimate that 100,000 people had been slaughtered.

Cementing his power, Suharto became president in 1967. His ‘New Order’ policy allowed Western capitalism to exploit Indonesia’s cheap labour and plunder its natural resources. Civil rights and dissent were suppressed.

In one of the world’s most populous countries, any possibility for the emergence of a new, democratic political project was eliminated. Richard Nixon described Indonesia as “the greatest prize in Southeast Asia”. Suharto would not leave office until 1998.

CIA officers described Suharto’s rise to power and anti-communist purge as the “model operation” and “Jakarta” soon became the codeword for anti-communist extermination programs in Latin America, where hundreds of thousands were massacred in regime change efforts engineered by Washington.

I feel like I was on the move the whole day today, but I don’t know where the time went??? Woke up, went to a meeting, from there to a grocery store, came back home and left to the gym after a quick snack, was home for like 2h before leaving to the campus again and went to a grocery store (again yes bc forgot things lol). I just got back home and now I should start winding down for sleep ?? Like tf where did this day go, why do I feel like I got nothing done but still was productive ?? Is this what life is like for ppl who aren’t home 24/7 ???

Crown of Exile Progress Update 👑

Hi wonderful people of Tumblr 😊

It's been a long time since I updated anyone on my progress with Chapter 8 so I'm here to give you a small update. I've been sharing a lot of sneak peeks with my Patrons, and as of Monday, I completed a huge dialogue scene that was taking forever to write.

The current word count of Chapter 8 is around 38K which isn't much, but I'm halfway through the chapter so expect it to go up. There's going to be two NSFW scenes in the second half of Chapter 8, one with Irus and one with Elora. You'll get to reunite with Dena (and Emos) and there'll be a lot of fun times ahead 😋

There's still a lot to write and code and I expect to be done in October. My writing time is really constrained by real life, my job and just general tiredness. Writing in the evenings is hard because sometimes I'm half-asleep and others, I just don't feel like it 😬 That said, progress is being made 🎉 I'm hopeful to have the demo updated next month, but I will let everyone know closer to release time.

Friday evening stitching. I have had some back pain this week and I think this quilt may be to blame. I did quite a bit of stitching on the quilt on my sewing room table during the week and I think the table is too high. I will stick with stitching in my comfy chair I think. I have enough aches and pains without adding another. Diamond number four is now attached just in time for the weekend.

SPOILERS FOR MALEVOLENT 45

THIS WAS SUCH A CUTE EPISODE IM SCARED FOR 46 😭

The way Arthur and John are just commuting they're being sweet to each other, they're being nice, they're activity treating eachother with such care ITS SO WIRBKEBDLSBRE

The deep level of care you can hear in their voices as they talk to eachother with so much comfort. Opening up to eachother about themselves, while taking care to make sure that they don't hurt the other with some long dragged out misunderstanding like they used to do so often back in the day.

The level of progress that these two have made within themselves— as well as with eachother— is just so heartwarming to see. The fact that we now fully have confirmation that Arthur has absolutely wanted to kill himself because of what he did to Faroe, and Faroe's spirit being so darn happy that he doesn't feel that way anymore! Faroe has always been with him and she loves her papa just as much as Arthur loves her.

For John, one was that small moment where he said something about camp fires being so "human." to which he and Arthur respond with laugh and agreement. It's such a small but heartwarming moment where you can just hear the character development brimming out of John. I'm personally not able to put it into words but for those who get it, get it.

I'd love to keep expanding on this because even though this episode is so much more melancholy then how our usual malevolent episodes are like, it means so much for our main characters as a whole and as well as their relationship.

This episode shows us that John and Arthur are different now. Their relationship is different now. They are no longer the John and Arthur we knew for so long, and that's wonderful.

But I am unfortunately burnt out but still have work to do so I should save my energy TT

Now IF Harlan and the Patreons decide to ruin this for us— I will absolutely riot in more even kidding— BUT IN ALL HONESTLY....I don't think they will. BUT WHO KNOWS WITH THIS PODCAST ANYMORE.
