Who can deny this expression!
Pleaseeeeeeeeee

• "That man has been trying to connect to the WiFi for 15 minutes. His persistence is admirable but futile."
• "The breakfast menu ends at 10:30. Time restrictions on eggs are a scam."
• "Their 'fresh' lettuce is two days old. I can tell."
• *staring at self in reflective napkin dispenser* "My hair looks acceptable."
• "That family's toddler has escaped containment for the third time. Their evasion techniques are noteworthy. We should take notes."
• "The ketchup packets require too much force. This is a design flaw."
• "That employee's name tag is crooked by 3 degrees. It's bothering me."
• *With his mouth full of burger, chewing* "I appear to have miscalculated the optimal bite radius."

can i request headcanons for a yandere aventurine?? please ignore this if your reqs are closed or if youre uncomfortable!
Not at all anon! Sorry if this is short I have no wifi atm 😔
~Yandere Aventurine headcanons~
(tw! Co-dependancy, obsessive and unhealthy behavior, mentions of murder, mentions of suicidal thoughts. Viewer discretion is advised)
🪙 to everyone saying "oh he'd be a manipulative yandere who's ultra possessive!" Well yes, but no.
🪙 manipulative yes, but more in the sense he's pretty much lost everything and everyone he cared about. Can you honestly look at that man and tell me his entire mental state wouldn't be dependent on you?
🪙 'oh you wanna cook? But what if your hand slips and you cut yourself?!' or 'what if you cut off your finger and I'm not here to help you and you bleed out!?' kinda thing, he will subtly manipulate you into not being able to do much of anything without him. Both out of fear something will actually happen whilst he's not looking and his need to have you near himself at all times.
🪙 he's not "possessive" per say...or that's just what he wants you to think.
🪙 but every time he brings you out to the casino with him, his arm is always wrapped tightly around your waist...perhaps even to tight to breathe sometimes.
🪙 and the aeons forbid if some guy looks at you for to long...(Which even 1/4 of a millisecond is to long in his book) He's shooting that guy immediately.
🪙 what do you mean he was just glancing in your direction? Don't you see he was obviously trying to size you up? So he could take you away where he could possibly hurt you!?
🪙 yah...ngl he's a piece of work. A hot one tho
🪙 and just like that his paranoia got the best of him. Congratulations! You're now stuck in his apartment without any chance of getting out! Ever.
🪙 you can cry and scream...(Which in all honesty will make him feel bad, but not because he kidnapped you.) But nothing can persuade him to let you out without him with you.
🪙 why cant you see? He's protecting you! Like how a loyal dog protects its owner. You'll realize sooner or later and thank him...
🪙 he's going all in for you. Won't you be a good spouse and cheer him on?
~×extras!×~
🪙 despite the two of you not actually being married (dw, he'll fix that soon) he calls you his spouse a lot, especially to his coworkers (rip topaz's ears).
🪙 he has a really hectic schedule, so most of the time he doesn't even get home untill midnight when your asleep. Does that stop him though? Absolutely not. He'll shower, change, eat....then immediately get into bed with you and burry his face in the crook of your neck. It's probably the highlight of his day tbh (other than seeing your face through the security cameras he installed in his home)
🪙 like I mentioned be his entire mental state is very dependent on you. If your angry about being locked you (rightfully so) and yell at him, despite his calm demeanor he's gonna be upset for the rest of the month. If you sob and beg to be let go he's probably just gonna cry with you...
🪙 also, something I forgot to mention before, he spoils the ever loving shit out of you. You so much as glance at something expansive through a window and he's going inside immediately to get it for you. Nothing is 'to good' for this love <3 (that and he thinks if he spoils you more you won't try to leave him)
🪙 will pretty much do whatever you want (except let you go), want him to pamper you? He's got a spa date ready. Just want a day to yourself? Well...he won't be happy but he'll do it! (He's gonna be cooing at how cute your face is through the cameras)
🪙 if you tried to leave him however...well he's deffinally gonna internalize it. Was his cockiness to much? Did he not spoil you enough? Why why why do you want to leave him?
🪙 he'll grovel and beg at your feet to stay with him, whatevers wrong he can fix it! He'll cry and cling to your legs (give this man a trophy for his award winning act), sobbing as he tells you he doesn't want to live anymore if he can't have you.
🪙 and if you don't immediately change your mind....well, that may be the first time in his entire life he gets angry at you...

If you heard about the TikTok ban act, don't think it's a big deal or will impact you at all, you are absolutely wrong.
Tik Tok is the red herring and not much is being said about the legislation that will be used to enforce this ban. Neither TikTok, nor ByteDance are mentioned once in the bill.
Congress introduced the RESTRICT act (S.686 2023-2024) and it is the internet version of the Patriot Act on steroids.
The RESTRICT act grants government authority to monitor and police any internet connected devices including:
Home WiFi & Internet (includes wired)
Your personal Phone, Computer, Smart Devices, Security Cameras, Game Consoles ..ANYTHING that connects to the internet.
Social Media Platforms & Websites with 1 Million users
Your payments on internet banking. PayPal, Cash App, etc.
Your Small business website, Etsy Store, TeeSpring store etc
Spreading of any information the Government deems as false.
Can ban TV Shows, Music, Games anything deemed unfit by the Government
And much more, basically anything that is "on the grid" will be monitored. (Apps, Texts, Videos, ect)
If you use a VPN to use a banned app, they can hold you, your ISP and the VPN liable and take legal enforcement action with a $250K fine and up to ten years in jail.
The enforcement clause states that it's enforceable against individuals as well as businesses. They can seize any devices and indefinitely detain individuals they suspect were used in commission of the violation. It also gives the program unlimited funding and the ability to operate without having to obey FOIA requests.
This bill has bipartisan support and every single one of the senators who sponsored this bill own stock in Meta and google.

Guys so my brother is getting into computer stuff and his main goal for a job rn is cyber security… so obviously he has to learn about all the bad stuff so he can learn how to prevent/get rid of the bad stuff… Yesterday he was telling me about how he finally went on the dark web and like— to put it simply, I will NEVER date someone who’s into computers… Do y’all know how fucking easy it is to stalk someone??? Like he put his ip address into a search and the location was literally within .1 mi of his house… Also there’s some other device you can get that basically fucks with the wifi you’re on and then all of your stuff automitcally connects to that device (without you even knowing) which give fulls access to your camera, key strokes, etc…….

I never liked the Traitor twist. If I were given a chance to rewrite it, here's how I would've done it.
Instead of a traitor, it would instead be a person with a quirk to travel as a shadow, that would explain how they would be able to get the information for the USJ and the Training Camp. and Izuku could even have a bit of a meetup with them who blackmails him into keeping quiet about who they are or else they'll reveal he's the reason All Might retired.
They're a spy for hire, charging a hefty price to spill/keep secrets to villains. As being in the shadows can help with learning various things about people, no matter how big or small.
And to top it all off... they were previously a student of Aizawa's class that was expelled for "not having enough potential" Thus they couldn't face their family and ran away from home, becoming a villain.
This would show the effects of Aizawa's expulsion and how it's not as clear cut as he thinks it is, that it actually has negative consequences and where his students might end up. This would make Aizawa think twice and realize that his expulsions did more harm than good and now it's come back to hit him with the cold reality.
Hi @theloganator101 👋,
That is an excellent rewrite of the Traitor twist because how Hori wrote it in canon it just doesn't make sense.
1) Yuuga should have been caught way before now. He doesn't have invisibility to conceivably sneak around the way that Toru does. And UA should have security cameras.
2) He is one of the bottom students of the class. An argument could be made that he was hiding some of his skill set but Hori doesn't set that up (unlike that moment in the sports festival when he did for Kaminari) beyond occaisional fourth wall breaks.
3) What even is Aoyama doing as traitor? I've seen @justatalkingface talk about how they would have utilised the traitor plot and it is so scary and narrative breaking how AFO could have used this effectively yet he just didn't... For some reason. (A DFO argument could be made here, yet even if this theory turns out being true, AFO has no reason not to go after All Might, the rest of the staff and students properly.)
4) How is he getting Info to AFO directly without the staff / students with hearing quirks finding out? This just is a plot hole. Perhaps Yuuga didn't call, perhaps he passed on coded messages to his parents, perhaps... Nothing. This is giving Hori too much credit. You can't tell me Nedzu didn't monitor communications of everyone when they were in the dorms via the schools wifi / network. Nedzu should think something is suss especially if a student is talking with their parents in code.
5) The parallels with Izu are perhaps the only positive thing about this. But even that is utilised poorly. Izuku isn't allowed to reflect on his own past once when this Aoyama situation should have opened a lot of old wounds for him. Izuku wasn't allowed to think of the grey area of this situation once he brushed off Mic's concerns that they were all victims here along with Toru and Ojiro's hurt to tell Aoyama "you can still be a hero." While this is nice for Yuuga (since he was a traitor by force) it brushes off everyone elses feelings on the matter. Izuku has become more and more black and white as a character (and in his views) and this starkly highlights it.
Furthermore, your version where a villainous ex-student of Aizawa's with a shadow quirk is the cause of the traitor suspicions is much more interesting and plausible.
It would make more sense for them to be able to sneak around undetected.
It confronts Aizawa with the devastating impact of his teaching without any narrative cushioning.
It encourage Aizawa to grow as a teacher or quit after getting 1A through their first year.
This would tie the class closer together rather than tearing them apart and pitting members against each other (which is why I dislike the Izuku vs 1A fight along with how this Traitor arc was handled.)
It makes Nedzu look like less of a moron in general for the disbelief of Mic suggesting there is a traitor because he wouldn't be able to see any evidence of one in the cameras or student communications.

Hi Sam! I've just adopted two baby orangies that I'm maybe gonna name Lucy and Mina. It's been 20 years since I've had baby kitties and I'm reluctant to leave them alone without supervision. Can you share what kind of camera/software set-up you have for the cryptids? What kind of security do you have on the feed? How did you decide where to point the camera? How many cameras/what brand did you choose to go with?
Thank you for considering sharing your cryptid webcam knowledge and here's a pic of my baby girls!!
[ID: Two extremely fluffy and adorable kittens, with long shaggy orange striped fur, are lying together in a cat hammock, cuddled up and sleepy.]
Aw, babies! Great names btw :D I hated leaving my cryptids that first day I had to go back to work.
I've gone through a couple of iterations of the home webcams; the first ones I bought were some company that I think has since gone out of business, and they were a bit of a struggle anyway since it was an Italian company selling mostly to Japan, and nothing was in English :D Their app was...subpar.
Currently I have three Kasa brand webcams and I really like them. They can be slightly temperamental to set up, especially if you don't have really strong internet; it used to be I could basically only have two of them operational at any given time because my internet was too weak to sustain the third, but we got new internet in the building a few months ago and suddenly the problems went away :D I wish that it was possible to access them from a webpage as well as the app, but I can't complain too much -- otherwise I've been very pleased with them.
Mine (similar to this, I think a slightly earlier model) can turn almost completely around; they have night-vision too, which I like. I started out just having one in the living room, but when I'm not there the cats often stay in other areas of the house, so I put one in the hallway and eventually the bedroom -- the goal was to put cameras where I knew my cats would be, so I could look in on them and actually see them. You'll get a sense, using the cameras or even just living with your kits for a while, of where they like to be when you aren't there.
Dearborn will often come when called to a camera, but Polk completely ignores them. If you want to interact with your cats you may want to buy one of the special petcam versions that have controllable laser pointers and treat dispensers, but mine don't like treats so I went with pure camera ability.
There's no real security on them other than whatever's on them natively, but I really only have them on when I'm traveling. They have a "privacy" mode where you can physically see that they've been switched off, there's a little light that is always on when they're on. But also like. If some hacker really wants so badly to see a fortysomething man talking to his cats, whatever, I hope they have fun. :D I assume there are extra security measures that can be put into place, but they'd probably involve the wifi rather than the cameras.
But yeah -- the Kasa cams are reasonably high-def, have sound and a speaker, have night-vision and are pretty maneuverable; can recommend.

another PYPY character I've been obsessing over as of late: Network 127, my messed up robot mom girl
same species as Digit, that is to say, parasitic brain fungus in a robot. only, instead of being hooked up to a robot, she's integrated into the systems of an entire brain fungus-growing facility (hence her name being the same as the name of the location; she is the location)
she monitors and manages the facility and contained mycelium network using all sorts of security cameras and security robots. she also has a robot body that she directly controls basically over wifi
it can't go far from the facility without the connection getting spotty, though, so she lends the autonomous guys to the Oily Boys for help with the monsters
her name in her native language* is ZEGU TOTASA, so I imagine she gets the nickname "Totie"

Best Of Show
Ever since the introduction of personal computers, which traces its roots to the 1970s with first-gen Apple, Commodore, and Radio Shack computers, as well as the paradigm-shifting Kenbak-1 in 1971, our lives have become increasingly ruled by electronic gadgets. Without them, many of us would have a hard time working, not to mention simply existing. They have become ubiquitous.
So prominent has this industry become that it had to have its own trade show. The first Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was held in 1967 in New York City, and showcased what folks then thought was the bleeding edge of home electronics. I’m envisioning record players, reel-to-reel tape decks, and color televisions. It all seems so quaint now.
Skip forward to the present, and CES, now held in Las Vegas, just wrapped. The scope of CES is much broader than in 1967 by virtue of a rapidly accelerating rate of new product development. Anything and everything from viewables, usables, holdables, flyables, and wearables is included.
And, as one might expect, if your new product did not include the letters AI in the description, you probably should have just stayed home.
Some of the new items at CES this year are already available, but as is always the case at trade shows, some of the items are merely vaporware, a concept that has not quite come to fruition just yet, but might if participant reaction is good, and investor money flows. One-offs are a dime a dozen at shows like this.
There is also the worrisome reality that, just because a new item—one that is indeed ready to roll out to market—captures the fancy of people attending CES, there’s no guarantee that the rest of us will buy it. Who remembers 3D TV from a decade ago? Yeah. And what about those curved LED TVs? Uh-huh. Better mousetraps sometimes are simply overkill, and we’re just fine with the basic model.
But hope springs eternal in the breast of human entrepreneurs, who are constantly trying to push the needle a little bit farther. After all, innovation is one of the hallmarks of a capitalist society. We are freely motivated to do so. Truthfully, we as a society are dependent upon it. To summon a time-worn comparison, we need only look to the island nation 90 miles south of Key West, where people have Frankensteined 1950s-era cars together because that’s the best they can do.
One of these years I want to snag a ticket to CES. I fully realize I may be sleeping in my van, unless I can muster up the fortitude to swallow $400 a night hotel rates. But I want to see this extravaganza of electronic showmanship, which may be more accurately described as one-upmanship. Everyone is gambling on the future, and it is only fitting the show is in Las Vegas.
CES has also become the darling of practically every major media outlet. Google “new gadgets CES 2024” and you will see what I mean. Each of these outlets has produced their proprietary list of what they think were the best of show. It would be fun to return to these lists in a year, five years, and beyond, to see which of these products actually gained traction.
As for me, one of my faves was the Adobe Edge Camera, a huge improvement on outdoor security cameras. It was also a fave of Wired Magazine. Pretty much everything available today requires mounting or placement within the narrow range of your home’s wifi signal. That typically is 50 feet, given that it needs to send video and still pictures. I already have a bunch of cameras inside and out, but the invisible tether is maddening sometimes. I want range.
The Adobe Edge, though, comes with a base station that is paired with your router, and then extends your signal to one mile. You read that right. One freaking mile. Anyone with land will understand why this $199 product could be worth its weight in gold. Stir in a $4 per month subscription to access AI features—there’s those two letters again—and you can have peace of mind. And so will Adobe with a revenue model like this.
So have at it, my readers! Google the new products from this year’s CES, and report back in the comments in our class discussion board. Be sure to cite your source, and feel free to add photos.

Hello, this is the follow-up to the Dracula Analog Horror vs ARG poll. I promised that I would explain the possible pros and cons of both formats, so here we go:
NOTE: I won't explicitly give any spoilers, but proceed with caution just in case.
PART 1: A Dracula-inspired ARG
PROS:
It would have a similar structure to the book: So we know the book compiles journal entries, audio recordings and letters, right? Well, in this modern adaptation, the characters could have YouTube, Twitter, Tumblr accounts or whatever fits best with their personalities. For reference, Marble Hornets uploaded their content in three different accounts: their main YouTube channel, the totheark channel and their Twitter page. Besides videos, there could also be photos and chat messages. Jonathan could record the first entries on his phone, for instance.
It would be similar to Dracula Daily: the cast would post the content on the exact dates, so there would be suspense when viewers don't get any new entries.
It would be more immersive: the cast would be like "This is totally happening in real time, guys".
CONS
People who dislike unreality for mental health reasons may find this format problematic: I think this would be more of a problem if A) the viewer knew nothing about the novel and watched the series completely blind, B) the creator changed all the characters' names, or C) the special effects were convincing. If anyone struggles with this, feel free to give your thoughts on the matter.
How would Jonathan upload the first entries on YouTube?: Since Dracula doesn't want Jonathan to have contact with the outside world, it wouldn't make sense for him to have WiFi in his castle. Would he even know what the Internet is? Speaking of the Internet, I think Dracula should have zero knowledge about it or else there would be more plotholes, especially in the final chapters.
Why would Seward upload things showing tragic moments?: I can't go into detail because of spoilers, but it would be disrespectful to the person involved if he did that (If I were in that situation, I would be angry if someone started recording me as I'm suffering). One could argue that, instead of uploading a video, he could tweet something like: "Unfortunately, this happened today". But then, how does the creator show the weird thing that happens prior to that tragic scene? Remember that showing is better than telling, especially in horror.
On a technical aspect, it would be a mess: While some people might enjoy the challenge of finding the entries themselves, how is the audience supposed to know when the ARG starts? The point of an ARG is to convince people that it's real, so the creator can't say on their page: "Hey guys, the ARG starts next week. Content warning: blah, blah, blah...". Also, what if the audience never finds one of the character's entries.
PART 2: A Dracula-inspired Analog Horror series
PROS:
It would make sense for Seward's entries: it would be unprofessional for him to start a podcast to talk badly about one of his patients. So a better idea would be to show his entries as footage from a security camera in Renfield's room. The video description would be something like: "This is leaked footage from the psychiatric hospital".
It would make sense for the entries related to Lucy: Maybe I or someone else can develop this point further on September/October.
All the character entries can be found in one Youtube channel: Instead of going to several social media pages or websites to find all the entries, the viewer could simply go to one site to follow the whole story. The entries could be uploaded in the same order as the book.
It would solve the plothole mentioned in the previous section: Without going into spoilers, the epistolary format of the novel becomes more relevant in the plot. An in-universe explanation for the existence of the channel would be that [MAIN CHARACTER] created the account to show the videos Jonathan recorded during his trip and also share what happened to the rest of the cast. In other words, the series would technically start in media res.
CONS:
The creator would have to come up with new powers for Dracula (this applies to the ARG version as well): If the creator just gives Dracula the powers he has in the book, the audience would go "Oh, it's just a normal vampire. It's not that scary". I think the creator could look up vampire myths/folklore and focus on the powers that pop culture doesn't mention. That would add more mystery and creepiness.
The first entries would not be uploaded on the exact dates: the footage can say 03/05/202X (I'm not American, so it's day/month/year) in the corner of the screen, but it's not the same.
Well, those are all the points I could think of. Feel free to reblog if you want to add another point in favour or against ARG/analog horror.
