Oh Scott honey...

Scott trying to be Derek is the FUNNIEST freaking thing.

Like, he nailed the whole "forebodingly stares and then vanishes" part. That part was really good. You've got something going for you, bud.

But then everything else....nope. Absolutely not. XD

Because the thing is, you can say the lines all you want, but honey, the intimidation...it's not your thing. It's really not. XD

Like, when you're being all wolfy--ESPECIALLY when you're angry and/or protecting those you care about--you are ALL kinds of tough, and ALL kinds of powerful and intimidating and bad*ss.

But...when you're being your normal, human self...you're too awkward baby. I'm sorry, but you are. And I ADORE that about you, but oh boy...in that moment, I was cringing right along with Stiles ("Scott, stop. Please, stop. Just...stop." XD).

That said, despite the lack of his own intimidation, the one thing that Scott has that Derek didn't have is a Stiles, so, by default, I'm sure they'll find their own (albeit chaotic) way to explain this whole thing to Liam and make sure he survives the full moon.

And then Scott can be Liam's Alpha (in his own way, because you're an amazing Alpha all on your own, baby, and you don't need to be Derek to be a good leader--you're perfect just the way you are <3), and he and Stiles can be Liam's parental figures, and it's all gonna be perfect.

But until then....

Update: As a very quick aside, I really appreciate the parallels and set-up this episode is giving us for what I vaguely know (spoilers plus context clues) will be the next little generation while still keeping all of the characters true to themselves: the Liam and Scott dynamic paralleling the Derek and Scott dynamic, but being very different in how it's handled due to their different personalities; the Mason and Liam dynamic being similar to the Scott and Stiles dynamic, but being hugely different in that (as far as I know) Mason doesn't find out about the werewolf thing for a WHILE; just based on that one interaction I saw, Garrett being a parallel for Jackson in a lot of ways. I feel like I can see all of that coming, and I can see what they're setting up, and they're doing a really good job with it, and I like it a lot. <3

Update Part 2: Re-watching that scene one more time to overanalyze the Sciles like I always do and I just... The way they're both there and, like, corner Liam. The way that Stiles gives Scott that little encouraging nod and then immediately drops his head in disappointment once Scott starts talking. The way Scott is trying so hard, but even he clearly doesn't believe himself. The way that, even when Stiles is scolding Scott and telling him to shut up, he still gives him that little supportive shoulder pat in this "A for effort, bud" when he crosses over to him. The way that Stiles looks like he's gonna blame Scott for the whole thing, but then fully acknowledges that he was an accomplice, because you know he always will be ("Just to clarify, Scott kidnapped you, okay? I...aided and abetted." XD). The way that Liam so confidently says that nothing's happening (because clearly he's fine if the GIANT BITE WOUND he had just healed magically, right? *raises an eyebrow at Liam*) and Scott and Stiles have matching "oh boy" expressions on their faces. The way that they both look at each other after with this "yeah we've got our work cut out for us with this one" after Liam walks away. XD Add to that Stiles calling Liam a "little runt" and I just... I JUST LOVE THEM OKAY?! LITERALLY THE BEST!! <3 <3 Anyways. XD <3

Stiles stared at the message floating in front of his face counting down the seconds. Apparently he'd finally gone crazy. He'd know there was something wrong with him since he'd been a kid. He'd always been different, too loud, too obnoxious, too strange. The small doses friend people liked to interact with for only a few minutes at a time lest Stiles would cling to them and suck out all their energy. The crazy guy who didn't pull his punches to get back at bullies and idiots who were hurting and threatening who he called his.

There'd also always been the possibility that he'd contract the same brain disease that had killed his mother. And now… now he had weird hallucinations! System message his ass, the world wasn't a computer game! And it didn't just change to one from one moment to the other either!

[3… 2… 1… 0…]

He felt a push from the back and stumbled forward with a surprised noise, only barely keeping on his feet. He spun around a moment later and paused. Where the trees were supposed to give way to the outskirts of Beacon Hills the only thing he was able to see was dense mist that grew darker by the second. No road, no back yards, no houses, only darkness. "At least Scott's not here," he muttered to himself, the anger he'd felt at his best friend for abandoning him because of Lacrosse tryouts the next day suddenly turning into relief.

Behind him, a howl echoed through the woods and Stiles felt the hairs on his neck stand up, as a shiver ran through his body. "Oh god, dad will kill me if I don't survive this!"

He flinched back when the silver sheen of another window popped into existence right in front of his face. The window was large enough for him to see every information without having to squint at too small text or numbers. There were the usual attributes he knew from his games - charm, agility (which was surprisingly high though it had an asterisk next to it and a lower number in brackets behind that), intelligence, constitution and- hey! why was his strength so low?! - around a general outline of a person.

Then there was a list of general skills that reminded him very much of one of his Dungeons and Dragons sessions and at their end a box of specialisations that fit surprisingly well to what he knew to be his strengths. Which sadly didn't amount to a lot of fighting experience despite his reputation of being aggressive like a rabid raccoon.

1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don’t care anymore?

Honestly? None. While I did have some ships I was interested in, I wasn't obsessed with any of them. And I kind of still care about them? In a very nostalgic way. So I kind of fail at both parts of this question x'D

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

If I'm going with the one I got really invested in? Destiel tbh. Mainly because I was very much a late bloomer who didn't really discover fandom and fanfics until I was 20-21. I mean, I HAD read some before that but since I didn't have internet in my apartment until I went to university (I was too poor xD), it wasn't easy for me to access them. Shipping is just easier when you have internet.

But, once I had it, I DID revisit a couple of ships that were technically older than Destiel that I had never really gotten into before that, many of them from video games, anime/manga, and books I'd read. But they were all overshadowed by Destiel so that's the one I remember as my first.

3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

Are we talking reading or writing? I guess I'll do both?

Reading: I think it was a Zell Dincht/Seifer Almasy one from Final Fantasy VIII that a friend printed out on actual paper and gave to me back when I was 16 or 17 (again, no internet). And I honestly can't say why he picked that pairing xD (I'm definitely more of a Squall/Seifer girlie now)

Writing: Sterek. Because it felt interesting but also not too intimidating. And I also just like werewolves?

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?

Not really, no. Since I've been drawing for so long I spent more time looking for art than fanfics when I was younger so I probably stumbled over a lot of them without even knowing it.

5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?

Not if I can help it, no. I tend to stay away from that sort of thing as best I can and just let people ship whatever they want. It's honestly none of my business.

6. Did you use to have any no-otp or have it currently?

I have several, mostly based on what I find triggering or squicky. But I don't announce them publically because that's just rude to those who DO ship them. And, as stated above, I try not to get involved in what other people ship or don't ship.

7. Who were the couples in the last fanfic you read?

Choi Yoon/Yoon Hwa Pyung from The Guest. Because who doesn't love some pining and Catholic guilt?

For real, though, I read very few fanfics right now and actually had to go check my history on AO3 to figure this out x'D The second to last fanfic was a Strangers From Hell one. And the one before that was a Guardian one!

8. Currently do you have any OTPs?

Several. Honestly too many to list x'D I'm one of those people who don't really let go of ships I like. They're not always at the forefront of my mind, though, but I remember them fondly and coo a little when I think of all the fond memories.

But if we're talking about the ones I'm the most focused on right now I'd say Kang Yo Han/Kim Ga On from The Devil Judge, Yoon Sa Wol/5-8 from Black Knight (currently struggling with chapter 6 x'D), the aforementioned Choi Yoon/Yoon Hwa Pyung from The Guest, and Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan from Guardian.

9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

Sterek. But that has less to do with my dedication to the characters and more to do with the queerbaiting and how extremely shittily Jeff Davis handled that whole thing. To use the Sterek shippers for publicity and hint that maybe it could happen, only to turn around and do everything within his power to not make it happen?

I take that personally, not because I have a huge stake in Stiles and Derek as characters, but as a queer person who, for once, thought that maybe we would actually get to see a couple we really liked get together, and then didn't.

I had more hope for Sterek than I ever did for Destiel, which technically had more in-canon queerbaiting, because the people behind Teen Wolf did their damndest to give me hope. Only for me to be ignored and basically told I was being gullible for ever thinking it would happen.

And that's a betrayal I'm probably never going to forgive.

10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?

Not... really? I can't think of any, at least. But that could be because I always have a pretty good reason for disliking the ships I dislike. As mentioned, it's usually based on triggers and squicks and those don't really change. So my opinion on ships I dislike aren't likely to change, either.

11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?

I mean, considering the social climate right now? Even Sterek qualifies because Stiles was underage when I started shipping them and Derek most certainly was not xD That said, I always prefer the fics when Stiles had time to turn 18 before any of the sexy stuff happened.

12. What was your favourite crack ship?

Okay, so, I've actually read a lot of fics for ships I don't actually ship, just for research purposes. Like, I find it FASCINATING to watch what other people like, how they choose to write about the things they like, and how they decide to portray the characters. Basically, I like to analyse authors just as much as I like to analyse characters. It's a hobby of mine.

And one of my absolute favourites was reading fanfics for Newt Scamander and the original Percival Graves from the first Fantastic Beasts movie (Sidenote: She-who-must-not-be-named is an asshole and this is not an endorsement of her franchise or shitty beliefs). And why I loved that so much was because the fics were about THE ORIGINAL Percival Graves who, technically, was never IN the actual movie (he might not even be alive anymore?). Like, it was Grindelwald all the time. We never actually SAW the original Percival Graves, just Grindelwald's impersonation of him.

And I just had so much fun reading various authors' takes on this character who was never actually seen but, based on Grindelwald's impersonation, can sort of be hinted? Because he must have done a good enough job of it that the people around Graves didn't notice? It was like an anthropological dig of Percival Graves transpiring right before my eyes and since I got on the train pretty early, I could see authors being inspired by each other and how the fanon developed over time. 10/10 would recommend if you're interested in watching a fandom evolve.

(also, some of the fics were so fucking good. So there's that, too xD)

13. Who is the couple you read most fanfics of?

I'm not entirely sure if it's Destiel or Stony, but definitely one of them (Sterek is most likely in third place). Partly because there are just so many to partake in (those fandoms are HUGE), but also because they've been with me for so long and numbers accumulate. That said, I haven't read any for those ships in a long, long time. But considering how many fics I devoured during the time I was the most active in those fandoms? It's going to be difficult for any of the ones I'm currently into to catch up.

Also because I tend to be in much smaller fandoms now >_>

14. What do most of your ships usually have in common?

WELL. A while back I would have said that even if there are some enemies-to-lovers tropes and antagonising in some of them, they're all mostly unproblematic and pretty healthy.

... I can't really do that anymore, can I? x'D

I mean, Kang Yo Han is problematic all on his own, but even HE is a green flag compared to Seo Moon Jo. That fucker is just a straight-up psychopath x'D

A more serious answer: An interesting dynamic. Which sounds like a given, but is actually a bit more tricky than that. Because I've only gotten more and more picky over the years. I've actually spoken to my wife and friends about this, because I've seen a pretty noticeable shift in my own shipping practices lately.

I gather fewer and fewer new ships and that's not because I watch/read fewer things, but because I'm getting pickier about them. There has to be an extra spark that interests me, often connected to the characters' personalities and how they play off each other, while, before, a bit of chemistry was enough.

But that also makes me more versatile, I guess? Because I focus less on tropes and more on characters and dynamics. But that also makes it harder to spot similarities xD

15. What do you absolutely hate in a ship?

I mean, hate is a strong word. But, again, it would mostly be connected to my triggers. I don't like ships that are too abusive and unbalanced. A little bit of danger is fine, but things like abuse, infidelity, grooming, non-con etc. don't work for me, personally.

Slash Ships to Get to Know Me

Bleep (@bleepbloopbotz) resurrected this tag game from the depths of her notifications and tagged me and Annie (@udaberriwrites) on it, and of course, Annie being Annie went and tagged me too, so yay~

It got me thinking a bit, and I figured I might as well, since I never actually sat down and listed all the ships I had - slash and femslash alike. I'm only listing the major slash ones for now, but I'll continue my list beyond that... for real, though, I need to do this same exercise for my femslash ships (yes, I saw your tag, Annie, and will get to it soon!)

**Rules**: Name at least five (no upper limit) slash (M/M) ships you love. Each from a different fandom. (Sadly, I have no pictures here).

1 - Twilight & Life and Death

I'd be pretty remiss if I didn't mention the two slash ships I'm actually writing right now - Carlisle/Beau (MM Bellisle) and Edward/Mike. Being the only writer of the former ship (as of today) is quite the interesting experience! At first, they were just convenient characters to carry out worldbuilding plans... but jokes on me. I became a massive shipper as I wrote and I suckered Annie into them too XD

2 - Teen Wolf

I need to mention both my slash OTP, Steter (Peter/Stiles), as well as the Sterek (Derek/Stiles) ship that is so popular and well-known. I almost chose Teen Wolf as the fandom for my concept instead of the Twilight/Life and Death combination I settled on, and if I had, I'd be writing Steter and my femslash Teen Wolf OTP, Allydia, right now.

3 - Fire Emblem Three Houses

I'd also be pretty remiss if I didn't mention the slash ship that got me writing fanfiction in the first place - Ferdibert (Hubert/Ferdinand). I have no idea what about these two managed to get me writing after 15+ years of silent lurking, but they somehow did and I'm grateful, since it ended up in me being here, meeting so many lovely people!

4 - NBC Hannibal

Quite a few people know how I love the Hannigram (Hannibal/Will) ship - and I love that it's canon. It's the perfect darker ship for me! Heck, fun fact - I was heavily influenced by NBC Hannibal's fantasy-like sequences when I wrote Apricity's Azure Mystique dreamscape!

5 - Scum Villain (SVSSS)

You know what's interesting? Scum Villain is the only MXTX novel I've read, despite MDZS and TGCF being way more popular. I'm quite the fan of the main ship Bingqiu/Bingyuan (Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan), but I also love the dark ship that is original Luo Binghe and Shen Yuan.

6 - Ace Attorney

Decided to end this list with one of my more lighter, older, and cuter ships in Narumitsu/Wrightworth (Miles Edgeworth/Phoenix Wright). Also, Momo is selling me on Klapollo (Apollo Justice/Klavier Gavin), so there's that! I love Ace Attorney in general and I'm pretty confident Capcom was intentionally making the whole thing ridiculously gay lol

You know, looking at this, I noticed two similarities across all of them.

First, that they all have at least a shade of darker themes among them. Heck, even Ace Attorney's Narumitsu isn't free of the ambiguity either, with the angst and all.

Second... I strongly favor the magical and supernatural stuff. I mean... there are vampires in #1, werewolves in #2, dark magic in #3, magical themes despite technically not being that in #4, heavenly demons and cultivation in #5, and the sheer absurdity present in #6

I’ve got one more character portrait I wanted to get out of my system before I need to work on other projects, so here’s Derek for ya! I honestly wasn’t sure how Sourwolf was going to turn out, but he actually exceeded my expectations. He was thankfully easier to draw than I thought he would be (the grumpy characters I do draw are hard AF to get right), so he was a breath of fresh air. I could definitely get used to drawing him more (and maybe doing some really cool things with his eyes). Also, swooning over that facial hair and the shadows, and this general colour palette was really great to work with. You can view Derek as part of the work Snapshots of Time on AO3. Thinking about maybe working on Scott or Lydia next, but we’ll see!

What were the words that you said to me that made me feel so special now? Here’s my @sterekweek-2022 contribution for the “Sing Me A Song” prompt! This art piece went in its own direction, and I just followed the path it took me. Lyrics are based on Finch’s song, “Stay With Me.” You can also view Makes Me Feel Alive on AO3.     Folks who are familiar with my work know I live for anything inspired by songs and lyrics, so I obviously had to see what I could come up with for Sterek. Thankfully, I have a gazillion songs and lyrics that work so well for them! :D Drawing an almost kiss scene was fun since there’s something raw and emotional about this moment Derek and Stiles are about to share. I loved drawing Derek’s leather jacket, and Stiles’ plaid button-ups have been teaching me new ways to work with patterns and simple clothing. And the way the mixed media spread ended up really embraces the October and spooky feels. I may have another Sterek surprise for ya for Halloween, so stay tuned!

Well, it looks like I can finally share this, after not being able to say anything for...I don’t know for how long?! Anyway, here’s what I made for @hd-wireless this year, which is my first Drarry fest piece of the year so far! Drarry has been with me through and through for a long time, and if you were to look at my Drarry playlist, Three Days Grace’s “I Hate Everything About You” is 10000% in there. I’ve loved this song for ages, and it sums up Harry and Draco’s relationship so well, it’s not even funny. I am so glad @sunflower-swan prompted this song so I could snatch it right up! My #1 post of 2022

Since it’s spooky season, this has a perfect time to delve deeper into more Teen Wolf and lore. So far, it’s been really fun to geek out over monsters, mythology and all things supernatural again. To do that (for a fandom that’s still newish to me) has helped me loosen up my expectations, look forward to trying new things, and I’ve been slowly getting back on track to finish up current art and fic WIPs. I guess this was the breath of fresh air I needed get out of that corner of roadblocks and feeling stuck. It seems to be working! I’m still getting my feet wet with Sterek (a ship I didn’t know I needed and one I adore sooo much). So, here’s a little something for @averysterekfall! this was a very fun experiment! among other things, i have learned that i CANNOT be concise in my fic endings XD (and go figure, when in my life have i ever been concise?). but in all seriousness, it's very cool to see, since i always feel like i have a lot of difficulty with the closing lines of fics—which i feel like is a pretty universal fic-writer problem.

from this, i think i've discovered i have a fondness for slightly open/loose endings, even if i never have sequels planned for things. i like creating the sense that the story continues even after the words end :3

Did you ever watch Buffy? The first episode where Anya was introduced was titled "The Wish" and all I can think about is if Scott McCall had ever run into a pure Sidhe where they offered him a wish. Instead of, "I wish Buffy had never come to Sunnydale." It would be more, "I wish I was never bitten to become a werewolf." But just like all feaye tricks, the outcome is more, his Dad ended up with primary custody rather than his Mom and he was forced to leave BH. And then Stiles ended up more friends with Heather and others. And while Scott's life is worse, when he tracks down the others he finds all of theirs are greatly improved.

I think about it a lot and how Scott never really dealt with the consequences of any of his actions, everyone else did, and how an episode or mini-arc could have fixed a flaw in the show's design. I mean, we were already dealing with a lot of Celtic lore, why not someone from the Sidhe courts?

I have no idea why this took me so long to answer, so apologies for that. <3 I did watch buffy! I've seen all of it, and all of Angel as well. XD

I remember 'The Wish' episode, and whoooo boy it gave me chills. I loved how big the butterfly effect was, how something that seemed so small, something that Genuinely seemed to be the cause of a lot of problems in Sunnydale, ended up being so important to how things had progressed. Because, yeah, you would think Buffy not coming to Sunnydale would be a Good Thing, right? Sunnydale didn't have all of these insane issues before she arrived. It was quiet, and nothing big or scary ever happened. Her arrival matches perfectly with when everything started going absolutely nuts, so whatever selfish ideas Cordelia had, her thought that Buffy not coming to Sunnydale would be a good thing, makes sense. Except that, as she finds out, she's entirely wrong. Buffy's arrival was a lucky coincidence, or fate, whatever your taste leans toward. She showed up right as things started going nuts, and she kept it from going SO MUCH MORE NUTS.

Now, moving on to TW, it is a fascinating mix of being the Exact same situation, and the exact Opposite. I'll add a Read More, cus' holy god is this a lot of Rambling.

Because Scott wishing not to have been bitten...yeah, the bite Did improve things. But it improved things for him. He would absolutely regret making the wish, just like Cordelia did, because he would realize how many good things the bite had brought with it. BUT, conversely, he would have to realize how many good things the bite had brought for him, not for other people, and how their lives either wouldn't have been affect, or might've even Improved without him being bitten. Without the bite, Scott wouldn't have gotten on first line, period. His health issues made very clear in the five minutes he had them that any kind of stamina based sport was just out of the question for him. If he is unable to walk through the woods at a moderate pace without needing to grab his inhaler and stop against a tree, he just plain cannot play lacrosse for two or three hours of running at high speeds and working a bunch of muscles in his upper body. He likely wouldn't have gone out with Allison, because he would have no convenient way to get her attention. Furthermore, he wouldn't have the extra senses that both impressed her on the lacrosse field, and told him about her 'family dinner' the night of Lydia's party. (I've discussed this before, but... While it's true, Allison would have still brought him the dog; that dog would likely have attacked him, and his chances with her would have been shot in the foot when they both got in massive trouble and he likely had to go to the ER for stitches or something. Without Allison or first line, he wouldn't have started hanging out with the 'cool kids,' and quite frankly, wouldn't have had anyone to help him study for the classes he was struggling with. It's true that he also wouldn't have had werewolf things to worry about, or even a girlfriend to distract him from homework, so maybe that wouldn't have been such a huge issue, but still.

If we look at other people's lives and how They would have been affected by Scott not getting the bite...well, let's talk about that.

Stiles didn't get on first line because of Scott, or because of a werewolf bite. Or even because of the werewolf bullshittery occurring in town. He was put on first line because of his abilities, and even after being taken OFF first line for missing the game, he was put Right onto the field in the next game, chosen OVER other players who were perfectly viable options. Which means, he still would've ended up on first line. Allison wasn't interested in dating before she met Scott, and part of her draw to him was based on how 'different' he was. He knew things she didn't know how he could know, he had a weird ability to calm a furious, injured dog, and he had charisma that was ALSO gained from the bite, since being on first line made Scott Much more self-confident. If she didn't end up dating him, it's likely she wouldn't have dated at all. Which would mean no hiding from her parents, no strange conflicts of interest, AND, interestingly enough --depending on her involvement in the murders, etc that would still be occurring in town--no night in the school that would scare her bad enough to ask Kate for extra help and tip her headfirst into hunter training. AND, even if she DID still end up getting those lessons from Kate? There would be no bitterness to fuel her behavior at the end of season 1.

Allison was Traumatized after Kate showed her Derek on the grate. She was horrified, and didn't know what to do about it, and while we can ramble all we want about the morality of her not confronting her family (whom she's just discovered is willing to electrocute people) about it, the fact is that she pushed the thoughts aside to stop freaking out and went to that dance. Where she found out Scott was a werewolf, and was So fucking Betrayed that she was willing to help Kate catch him and Derek. No Scott, no betrayal, no willingness to help Kate recapture the miserable man who'd been chained up in a basement.

If we go back to that specific night, and try to unfold the events from there if Scott hadn't been bitten, things get a little complicated, but I'll take a few artistic liberties. Scott isn't bitten. Presumably, he just happens to get out of the woods in time, or he gets caught with Stiles by the sheriff, or doesn't go to the woods in the first place. These all change the possible outcomes of that night. If he hadn't gone in the first place, and Stiles went alone, would he have been bitten instead? Would Scott have been dragged into all of this anyway, but without the protection and boost of being a werewolf and cured of his asthma? If he weren't the one bitten, and he saw everything Stiles gained from it, would he still have such a hatred for the bite? Or would he want it, like Erica did, to cure him and make him powerful and cool? But, let's assume Stiles doesn't get bitten either. The second half of Laura's body still hasn't been found, and Stiles has no reason to fear running back into the preserve the next day, and no real punishment from his father as far as we can tell. So, does he go back to look again? If he did, he would run into Derek, because Derek would still be there after retrieving Laura's body himself. He would see Derek and still recognize him, and from there, things might spiral, still involving Stiles in the supernatural, and it's likely Stiles would try to involve Scott, and Again we get hit with "Would Scott want the bite, if he hadn't gotten forcibly bitten in the first place?" The answer is probably yes. He wanted to be cool, and popular, and on the lacrosse team. He wanted everything being a werewolf gave him. BUT if we're looking at this wish as similar to "The Wish," then no matter what, Scott won't be bitten. He'll be transported to a new world where it just never happened, and he'll be human, and forced to watch everyone around him be just plain different. Scott not being bitten would isolate him from Stiles, if Stiles got involved in the spn anyway. We SAW how Stiles cut off his other friends once the spn starting getting in the way. He and Harley? We have no clue how close they were. They were close enough for her to tease him about his crush on Lydia, for her to wander up comfortably to the locker and talk to them. And he cut her off as soon as the werewolf stuff hit. What if he cut Scott off? To protect him, if nothing else, like he did his own father. Once he realized the danger involved, I doubt he would be willing to put Scott in harm's way.

So, Scott would not only lose first line, lose his girlfriend, lose his popularity, lose his health and strength and heightened abilities, lose his 'importance' to the goings-on of Beacon Hills, but he would also lose Stiles, who seems to have been his only friend, unless he also had a relationship with Harley.

Okay, I've rambled enough about the what if's, so let's talk about the Reason why this wish would go so badly for Scott, in such a different way than it went for Cordelia. Cordelia, first off, wished that someone Else would not have/do something, rather than wishing for herself not to have done something. She watches how fucked up the world gets, and how much worse her life is without Buffy around to save the day. Scott wished for Himself not to have done something (even something passive, like 'get bitten') and would have to watch how fucked up his world gets, and how far behind he would fall. The other's lives might not necessarily get better, because Peter is still on the loose, and the hunters are still there, etc etc, but they would still Progress, while Scott would stay stagnant.

And WHY is that? Because Scott isn't important to the story. It DOESN'T start with him. That's the Whole Point of his character. He is supposed to be the 'everyman' who gets dragged into crazy shit and becomes integral to things that he wasn't ever meant to be a part of. The guy who wanders into becoming King or 'The Hero' that will save the world, even though he's just a small lad from a tiny town, whose highest prospects were "get on first line."

He was NEVER supposed to be Buffy, or if he was, it was done Very Badly.

But Beacon Hills WASN'T a quiet town before Scott was bitten; however much he might've said 'nothing ever happens in this town.' It was FULL of bullshittery and magic from the very beginning. There was the fire, and Paige, and the blinding of Deucalion, and the death of Alexander Argent, and the Nogitsune in the internment camp nearby. All of these things were around So much longer than Scott's bite, and they'd been affecting the world that whole time too. Because yes, in Buffy, the master was There before she was, but he was literally rendered inert by the situations he was in. And the things he'd done happened Centuries before, not six years. There is a difference. Sunnydale was Not Known for the insane number of weird deaths. Beacon Hills was. And aside from the Nogitsune, every single fucking thing that happened in Beacon Hills, was attuned to the Hale family in one way or another. Deucalion's blinding occurred during a meeting on Hale land, because Talia was known as a wise leader, etc, in the area and other wolves flocked to her. Deucalion biting Argent seems unrelated (if you even believe Deucalion did that, despite being a fucking pacifist before Gerard blinded him), but again, it occurs just a couple hours away from Beacon Hills, which is Hale Territory. The one who plays the Buffy role here? Who shows up at just the right time, and launches themself against an endless wave of evil, with slightly enhanced senses and a thorough need to do good and not back away from things that 'aren't they're problem'? The actual hero who is somehow tied to everything going on in ways even they don't understand? Was Derek. The guy who entirely unwittingly allowed Julia Baccari to survive, because he was trying to be merciful to his first love. Who entirely unwittingly was manipulated into giving up information that let a hunter kill his family. Who followed his sister back to town after six years of just trying to survive in New York, fell into a fucking tragedy, and decided to stop the bad guys anyway, even though he knew he didn't stand a fucking chance.

And as annoyed as some might get. The 'everyman' who stumbles onto the set and accidentally becomes integral to the saving of the world? The one whose ambitions are small and who expectations are smaller? Who is misunderstood, and has abilities that aren't recognized or appreciated, that doesn't really fit in, but tries their best anyway? The literal Angel to Derek's Buffy?

Is fucking Stiles. The son of the sheriff who just could not let it go when he discovered there was something funky going on. Who hung around on the edges, even though he wasn't really wanted, because he needed to help. Who ended up saving Derek's life over and over, and becoming so important as to be Derek's anchor? Who literally WENT DARKSIDE and HAD TO BE NEARLY KILLED, even though Derek didn't to kill him???

I know how it sounds, but JD SAID he took inspiration from Buffy. The issue is that his parallels are between DEREK AND STILES, and BUFFY AND ANGEL. Respectively.

Derek might act like the broody bad boy, but it is STILES' mentality that matches Angel's behavior, and it's Derek who matches Buffy.

I'm so fucking off track. Scott would be miserable if he ever managed to get a wish and used it to keep from having been bitten. And it would be sad. I would feel bad for him, had I watched something like that happen. Seeing him realize that most of the good things he had, he only got because of the bite. That Stiles would still be on first line, that Lydia and Jackson would still be the popular kids. That Allison wouldn't know he existed, or if she did would avoid him entirely. That Jackson would never have been turned into the kanima in the first place. That everyone else would move on and up in life, and he would still be standing at the bottom step. Because it wasn't his actual limitations that were holding him back, it was his refusal to accept them, to work with them, and to just plain stop Envying Everyone Around him, and start living his own fucking life instead of trying to steal other people's.

Scott wishes he were Cordelia, and I promise that would backfire too.

Bonded 'Verse - yeah it's a series, but they're all connected.

Fandom: Supernatural | Ship: Dean Winchester/Castiel

This is like... the first "long" fic I read. It's still the longest series I've ever read, and it's at like... 2 MILLION WORDS. Even more than that. And yeah, it's rated E, but the fluff is immaculate! And the familyyyyy yessss! (Ngl the smut is weird af for my tastes, but I love every character in this series to pieces <3 so I endured lol).

It follows Dean and Castiel, a Demon and an Angel (there's three species in this world: Angels, Demons and Humans, and even in them there is this subdivision of Submissives and Dominants, which is like this universe's terms for Omega and Alpha). As you can already tell, this is an Mpreg fic, but it starts in college and with a roommates + enemies to lovers arc that's a little cliché, but hey, still incredible! This is the first part in the series, and then in the second we see Dean and Castiel living their lives and thinking of starting a family and starting a family and being parents and being in love. It's also not just fluff, there's this plot with Lucifer, and then there's the whole discrimination that Dean/Castiel face for being an interspecies couple, and there's some heartbreaking moments where their kids face speciesm for being of "mixed" blood.

In short I love this series and could go on forever, and sorry already you had to read so much about a fandom you probably don't go to 😂

Fandom: Teen Wolf | Ship: Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski

Okay so this is fairly famous I think, probably even a staple Sterek fic, and for good reason. THIS IS INCREDIBLE. Even if this is an Alternate Universe, where much of the canon has been disregarded, the relationship between Derek and Stiles and the background in the "Raising Home" fic (to be read between chapter 15 and 16 of "Home") is like... tears worthy. I cried, full on fucking sobbed, this is SO good. I love this. Give it a read if you're new to the Sterek Fandom, trust me you won't be disappointed. There's even Art (by the writer herself!!!) embedded into the fic, and it's not just one or two, but like, one or two in EVERY CHAPTER.

Please give this a read, or even a reread. This fic deserves all the love in the world.

Fandom: MCU | Ship: Peter Parker/Michelle Jones, but the focus is on the relationship between Peter Parker & Tony Stark, so this is more of a gen fic than a romantic fic.

Okay so, this is post-Endgame, and Tony Stark is Dead. Everyone is grieving, and there's this black cloud of depression hanging over the world—and Jim Morita, the Principal of Midtown High (fun fact: he was played by Kenneth Choi, aka Chimney from 911 Show), decides that he can't watch his kids waste away like this. So, he arranges a Field Trip to SI Industries, which is more the farmhouse Tony had than the Tower we know and love.

There's Grief/Mourning. There's Angst. There's Tears. There's Action. There's soft IronDad and SpiderSon in flashbacks. There's Identity Reveal (hence the title of the fic). It's cathartic.

3 male characters I love: STILES STILES STILES he is one of THE BEST BOYS on TV!!! I love this character so much! Second, Derek with his broody dry sarcasm, absolutely delightful. Ah, let's complete the trio of main characters and take Scott, he's honestly so funny and sweet

3 female characters I love: KIRA! I love Kira so much she is so adorable and such a disaster in the best of ways, also I'm sorry but badass kitsune??? Hot damn! Second would be Allison, I always found her incredibly compelling and I am still mad at how she died (but then I'm also still mad at how they shelved Kira. Mh. Here's a trend for you. Date Scott McCall and you get canned <_< Weird writing decisions imo, considering he's the titular lead). And thiiird Melissa McCall, she's a great mom, even if she took some to adjust to Scott's situation, once she did, she was ride and die

3 romantic ships I love: Sterek, at the top, obviously. Stiles and Derek are top-tier. From the canon ships, it'd be Scott/Allison I was honestly so surprisingly much invested in this? And then Kira/Malia, ever since their dance in the club in Mexico!!! That was so yes, finally a femslash ship has crossed my radar for this show!! They were cute and Kira deserves to be happy

3 platonic dynamics I love: Scott-Stiles, their friendship is the backbone of this franchise. Second, mh, I do find the dynamic of Scott and Derek very interesting too, particularly in fics where the McCall pack and the Hale pack coexist (as it should be). And thirdly the Lydia-Allison friendship, I love me a good girls-friendship

3 favorite moments in canon: When Stiles carried Derek in the pool, that was *chef's kiss*, absolutely. Stiles in the hospital, thinking he's going to die of the same thing his mom did, but then the nogitsune reveal - Dylan's acting was incredible in the dual role. Brilliant. Third one is really hard, because despite having such shit writing for the most part, there are absolutely brilliant comedic pearls in this show. Okay let's go with one of my favorite shots, when Stiles and Scott are in the gay bar looking for Danny and Scott suddenly realizes it's a gay bar and turns toward Stiles, who is just surrounded by drag queens and goes "ya think" like he was in his element there and Jeff still trying to convince us that boy isn't bi lol what a fool

3 favorite headcanons: BISEXUAL STILES. Boyd and Erica and Allison LIVE FUCK YOU. Hale pack coexisting with the McCall pack

3 least favorite things about it: ahahahahahaha *ugly sobbing* how do I narrow this down to 3? *more sobbing* okay top has to be the existence of season 6B that was just shit the only good thing about it was FBI!Stiles and the way Derek carried him bridal style but other than that this shit half-season has no rights. Second? KIRA and how she was shelved, like, they didn't even fridge her the way they did with Allison, letting her die a heroic sacrifice death, instead they took this young woman with her whole life ahead of her and... and... put her in the sand to be gone forever what the fuck what the fuck what the actual fuck (plus the behind the scenes shit I mean hot damn to not tell Arden that they'd write Kira out of the show???) And third is genuinely hard, like, probably the existence of this good for nothing movie sequel and that they want to make a spin-off show from it

Top Three Fandom Ask Game

OMG MY HEART!!

That flashback between Scott and Deaton just SENT ME, first of all.

The little smile of encouragement Deaton gives him, and to flash forward to the face and look of determination Scott has on, DESPITE all the pain he's in, as he makes it to Boyd and does EXACTLY THAT--leads them.

He's just so calm, and so caring, and so protective, and so utterly wonderful and leader-worthy in how he handles that situation.

Add to that that he's pushing through how hurt he is and showing strength and restraint.

Leaders don't lead by telling--they lead by showing and doing, and that's EXACTLY what Scott is doing in that moment.

And then Isaac, in all his adorable protectiveness, immediately shifts his concern from Boyd to Scott at realizing how hurt Scott really is, and that's what finally gets Boyd.

Because no matter what did happen, and no matter what happens next, Scott is right there, in front of them, and he's still hurt, and Boyd can't put him at risk by attacking right then and there.

So he doesn't. Because ultimately, Scott's right, and he knows it.

AHHHHH THAT WAS SO GOOD!!!

Also, this one might... offend some people? Like with the age-gap, I guess. Here, Stiles is 14, Derek is 20 (so it's like... hmm, six years after the last time travel excerpt, but the situation is still mostly the same with, y'know, everyone being suspicious of Sterek). Also, no, this isn't underage as Stiles and Derek are actually older. Time-Travel stuff, xD.

You don't have to read this if you don't want to, so I'm just gonna put the rest under the cut so that only those who really want to read can read.

Thanks for the prompt!! This is THE scene I've been imagining—and re-imagining—like, daily, for weeks. Glad to finally have it out of my brain and into words, though the details might change when (I don't know when exactly) I end up writing this fic down.

That Time-Travel Excerpt 2

"What the hell are you doing?! Stop that!"

Talia Hale's voice echoes in the warehouse, a sudden noise that tips Stiles off of his axis with the intensity of it. Voices—voices of his mom, dad, the whole pack—start clamoring in his ears, a never-ending wave of derision and fear licking up their spines and to his soul, even though he knows what he's doing.

He's done it for so long enough that it's almost second-nature by now.

His hands shake, though, as he puts them on top of Derek's abdomen—bloody and poisoned from the stray bullet, the last one the hunter fired before Stiles used his magic to throw that man away and into the wall behind with a painful smack.

He looks into Derek's eyes. They're glassy, the blue in them more prominent right now than they are normally. "It's going to hurt," Stiles informs him.

"Of course it's going to—" someone shouts at him, maybe Laura or Talia; their voices are similar enough that it's easy to mistake them. If they could stop him, they would, but they're still inside the mountain ash barrier, and the humans are all locked in chains, still. Stiles will free them once he's cured Derek.

Derek tries to give him a smile, then with an action too swift for his bloody and beaten body—not that it's stopped him before—puts his weight on his elbows, and Stiles moves with him, his fingers digging in a little deeper in the hole—the bullet in his hand almost going back in the hollowed space where the first bullet had gone in.

They're barely an inch apart, now, Derek's heavy, labored breath ghosting on his too young lips. Like Stiles always wants to be; he never wants to be apart from his love, his Alpha. His Derek.

"I know." Derek tells him, and Stiles lets out one tear that he'd tried to hold in. They've faced worse; hell, they've survived so much worse.

So much worse.

But maybe that's the reason Stiles hates this so much. He can't lose anyone again, especially not the one he's tethered to.

"Come on, love," Derek encourages him, and Stiles closes his eyes; he hates this part the most. His fingers catch on fire, and so does the bullet. Derek's breath hitches, the fear of flames still a constant even though it never technically happened this time; it's a ghost of a memory that won't ever leave him, and Stiles hates that he is the one that most reminds his beloved of it.

Before Derek can scream—it's painful, and habit or not, it always hurts, there's no immunity to nightmares—Stiles catches Derek's lips with his own. It's different, kissing like this; they haven't made a habit of it. He might be mentally 30, and Derek 36, but Stiles still looks young. They're consenting adults, technically, but they've got the wrong bodies for it.

Stiles drinks in each of Derek's groans with a fervor; he would take away every bad thing from Derek if he could, even make him forget his memories from a time that never will be so that he can have his best life. But Derek doesn't want that; Stiles would never take away Derek's choice like that.

Derek grips him back, tight at his hips and leans forward until all they're doing is licking into each other's mouths, the bullet between them almost forgotten.

"I love you." Derek says, lips bitten and swollen when they part—only an inch apart. Stiles stares. Derek's eyes are coming back to their usual starburst colors. "I love you, Stiles."

Stiles smacks him on the chest. "You asshole," his voice is raw, unfettered from his usual grip on his emotions as he realizes just how close he was to losing Derek, again. It hasn't happened in a few years, but the fear is the same: he can't lost Derek. He can't. "You-You could have died, you fucking martyr! I thought you were over that!" He keeps hitting Derek on his chest, barely aware of the pack behind them getting restless and confused.

Derek takes his small palms in his big ones. Kisses them softly, whispers, "I couldn't have let her die, Stiles," and Stiles understands. Laura might not be their biggest fan, but she was Derek's Alpha, once. The only one he had for six years, when all he knew was rage and grief and loss. "That hunter was aiming at her and I—"

"Couldn't help yourself. I know, I know, Der, but you could have died and you promised me you wouldn't and you promised we'd be alive we'd die together and I can't lose you please please please not you—"

Derek doesn't stop him. He lets Stiles cry and and spill, because it's better if he doesn't bottle things up. Derek cradles him in his arms, murmurs reassurances and just keeps touching him to let him know that Derek is alive, that Stiles isn't alone, he has someone.

Slowly, Stiles stops crying. It takes a few seconds, but he gathers himself. Derek wipes away the tears with his hand, and Stiles leans into it.

Derek kisses his forehead. "I wouldn't ever leave you. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Stiles."

It's a tender moment; oddly, these only come after Stiles' worst fears have made an appearance. But it's broken, when true to the usual trend, it's broken by a scream.

Though this scream is far less of a definite death thing and more of a Candace-has-fullproof-evidence-of-her-brothers-doing-something-they-should-not-be; Derek obviously thinks the same, because when Stiles looks into his eyes—he's seen them a million times, but they still manage to catch him off-guard with their ethereal beauty—there's mirth chasing the spark of colors.

"Mom! I TOLD YOU THEY WERE MORE THAN JUST FRIENDS!" Laura's voice echoes in the warehouse, and is accompanied by Stiles' wet giggles and Derek's muffled laughter.

Oooh Oooh Oooh! I need deets on 1 and 3 please!

Stiles gets turned in his 20s and everyone is surprised when his eyes are blue. Derek is not.

Okay, so: it's literally about how all the gifsets of Stiles being turned end up with yellow eyes, because he just SEEMS like such a good guy it never occurs to people that because of the Nogitsune, he has one of the highest body counts of any of the Pack members.

In Scott's mind, since it was literally a different consciousness inside Stiles' mind doing the killing - and since the one guy Stiles did on his own, Donovan, was ANYTHING but virtuous - it absolutely doesn't occur to him that Stiles has killed innocents until he sees Stiles' eyes begin to glow.

But Derek knows. Because Derek knows that guilt and shame... don't work that way.

A fic essentially about how Derek and Stiles, for all their opposites, are actually really, really similar in the ways that matter. :)

A five-times fic: five excellent reasons Stiles finds himself at the Beacon Hills gay bar and one piss-poor reason Derek does.

The first time is when they tried to stop the Kanima. Of course, Derek is there, too, but it's only for werewolf-y purposes and of course it doesn't stick in Stiles' head like glue that Derek is in that building. Nope.

The second time is when his drag queen friends drag (pardon the pun) him there to get him over the weird, rocky end with Malia. He still hasn't verbally acknowledged he's bi, but the queens know better, and just convince him to come out and let the boys flatter him and buy him drinks and inflate his ego a bit. The night goes a little bit sideways, sure (Stiles definitely leaves the bar with makeup on he wasn't wearing when he arrived), but it's fun.

The third time, he's there to find out some information about some supernatural being or other... who he ends up making out with up against the wall. Because of course he does. :P He pulls away for a second and says out loud, "whoa, I really am super bi, aren't I?" and the supernatural thinger just crushes their mouths back together. The factfinding mission has... mixed results.

The fourth time, he's there to get over Lydia. And he's a mess.

(Forget that my math doesn't add up, there's a reason I haven't written this fic yet, I need more beats and reasons for stuff and crap xD)

tl;dr, Derek's piss-poor reason... it's that Stiles is there. And when Derek sees Stiles dancing with someone, his stomach turns to lead and his feet turn to stone, and he just can't move his legs anymore to leave. :3

1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

So at first I was a one-fic-at-a-time type of woman but lately I've just been adding bits to several WIPs like a wild animal. The few that I'm working on are:

A Steter/Vampire!Stiles fic

A Sterek Oneshot

A Steter PTSD (maybe one shot, not sure atm)

A Sterek/Sugarbaby!Stiles fic (not with Derek though)

A Sterek/Maze Runner Crossover Fic

A Steter Oneshot

And a few others where the documents have only been named and not added to just yet D;

So to go into a few of them:

The Steter/Vampire!Stiles fic is the main one I'm working on and it's taking quite a bit of time to flesh out only because I'm new to writing Peter. I'm still frankly new to writing Stiles and Derek as well but I've gotten comfortable to build a base with them. Peter, well, snark isn't my greatest writing attribute. I don't want to give too much away with this one, but Stiles becomes a vampire and Peter's there to help.

The Sterek/Sugarbaby!Stiles fic is a fun idea I thought about (which I'm sure was not an original thought) where Stiles runs out of money in college and, with help from a classmate, starts down the road of becoming a sugar baby. There's gonna be feelings, drama, (hopefully comedy if I can learn to write it better) and some supernatural stuff happening in the background xD

The Maze Runner Crossover was actually going to be a newtmas one in the beginning but I switched into wanting Sterek for it. Yanno, having Stiles (thomas) fall in love with Derek even with the loss of his memories is just a nice thought :)

3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)

Well I don't necessarily have a scene that I've been itching to write that I haven't already put down in some form of actually writing it or making a rough guideline for, I do have wip that sits in the wip graveyard that I picked things out of to use in another fics. Like a warm-up session xD It was basically Stiles just kind of casually moving in to Derek's loft as over time they get closer and closer with hanging out and mutual platonic bed sharing which eventually evolves into something more. So here's the snippet from it, a scene I liked writing for it (which hasn't been beta-d at all, so bear with me) :3 (this post is going to a long one, hooooo)

An hour of unrest turned into two and then eventually three and all the while Derek slept, Stiles stayed glued to the couch, fingers tapping away on his thigh as he chewed on the second pull string - the first one already obliterated. Even though something was playing on the screen in front of him, Stiles couldn’t concentrate on it to save his life. He was still so pent up with energy, frustrated that Derek had merely brushed it off and went to bed. Glancing over, Stiles noted that Derek was letting out soft snores, which he always did well before Stiles could fall asleep. Most nights it helped him reach unconsciousness faster, but tonight they were just getting on his nerves.

Stiles sighed and burrowed himself further into the couch cushions. He shut his eyes and hoped his brain would shut off soon. When it did, when he eventually drifted off, he dreamed. He dreamed of horrible things, of sad things, of things that made him whimper in the middle of the night. When he’d woken up briefly, feeling weight displaced on and around him, he caught a glimpse of Derek carrying him to the bed. Derek wasn’t looking at him, he probably didn’t even notice that Stiles was awake until he put him down on the mattress.

He covered Stiles with the comforter, hands stopping only once he realized Stiles was staring up at him. Silently, Derek climbed into bed next to him, facing him, not bothering to keep his distance. Stiles watched him quietly, sniffling and scrunching up his nose as tears fell down his face. He’d been dreaming of Allison, of Aiden, of everyone they’d lost along the way, and he couldn’t stop the overflow of emotion.

Stiles wasn’t one to shy away from publicly crying and he wasn’t ashamed or embarrassed that he was practically sobbing in front of Derek, telling him everything. He told him he used to miss Scott, how he was sad that he didn’t anymore. He told him about the nightmares and how they made him feel guilty for being here while others weren’t. He told Derek everything, everything except about how he felt about him, so instead he told him how he felt like he was fucking up his life by not sticking to ‘the plan’ he’d set for after high school, and how he wondered if he were disappointing his dad.

Derek listened to all of it and when Stiles couldn't speak anymore, reduced to a muddled mess of choked sobs between sharp breaths, he reached out his hands and took hold of Stiles’ face. His hands were warm and Stiles’s skin was cold and clammy, wet from the tears that stained his face. Stiles leaned into the touch, not caring about the knot growing in the bottom of his stomach. When Derek leaned forward, as if on instinct, to run his tongue along the paths the tears created, Stiles didn’t move, didn’t budge as Derek took care of him.

He peeked out from behind wet eyelashes, vision blurred behind tears that had yet to fall, and thought he saw Derek’s own eyes welling up. His tongue continued to run along Stiles’ face, cleaning up the mess Stiles had made of himself, warming his skin with his hot breath. Stiles sniffled, bringing up his own hands to grip at Derek’s wrists and noted how his fingertips were able to touch one another. He tipped forward, leaning closer in Derek’s space, and on a brave whim, whispered, “Kiss me.”

5. What character that you’re writing do you most identify with?

Strangely enough, I feel like I identify more with Derek. He's easier to write but I feel that's because I have an angsty brain with angsty, self-deprecating thoughts >_>

7. What do you think are the characteristics of your personal writing style? Would others agree?

I feel (and hope) that I'm good at being descriptive enough when I write? I would hope that the picture I'm writing comes across as a nice scene that others can imagine easily.

9. Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?

A little bit of both really. I started off in the sterek community writing long fics and now I'm writing drabbles every so often, but before then I used to write long fics all the time about other fandoms, with a few drabbles here and there as well so yeah, both. I like both, to be honest, it's fun to plan out long fics (my steter/vampie!stiles guideline document is like 13 pages long of planning) but drabbles are fun to get lost in for like an hour in the day.
