hi! i need to get something off my chest, like in shadowhunter world both tv and books, books is my favourite not because i hate tv characters (bc teh emotional vulnerability was very well done there- i literally it was so hard to wait for my school to get over so i could watch the show) but bc books is the original stuff which i fell in love with for teh first time, also why though all teh series are really good in shadow world but tmi holds a special place in my heart (no matter how imperfect it is in certain places) which i think also translates into my love for book!malec more than show!malec. (the height difference bugs me so much in show bc its not the right one, alec loves being shorter than magnus, but i love matt sorry harry but matt is yeeahhh...) idk why i have never been able to attach myself to show malec fics as much to book!malec fics. I think the only long show!malec fic i read was yours that you made about detective alec and lawyer magnus, but that was bc i love your writing and stories (i love the book!malec and mavid ones more sorry !! but i cant david is an original character but i love him so much, sry got sidetracked) tbh i also felt that the next malec fic would be show malec bc i cant (even tho i have read the lmlt i think it was named.. one of teh first long fics you wrote which had asmodeus and alec relation) imagine book alec having a relationship with asmodeus which is even remotely decent. but show malec have always been more softer and more communicative about their vulnerabilities. (which makes me realize now, i also love the intensity of book!malec more, huh)

Anyways i dont know why i blabbered, but i see so many posts about it but i am sorry show malec but book malec is it for me. or more like every book character esp jace and clary is it for me than show clace too. (i think it was also because of the actors though jace's actor did an amazing job in the later seasons.) But i can't wait for your new malec fic, i am ready to gobble up anything you put out there srsly, like i trust you are gonna make it worth it (like i never thought i would like the rwrb fic so much as i do rn, bc like in my hea di have already read teh book and i know what happens but yeah i should have known!)

No, I think this is fair. You're allowed to have a preference. I like book malec better too - simply because there is more to their characters and I usually prefer book versions anyway.

Regarding the fic, first things first, you can imagine them however you want! I know for a fact not everyone who read TLND imagined Alec as Sebastian Stan (I will stand by this casting!!). But it's how I, as the writer, imagined it. My castings are simply for me - to be very honest. I pick faces and people who help me visualize my characters better. But that does not mean you have to do it too. I'm sure people on ao3 who read my fics but don't follow me tumblr have no idea about any of these castings. So, yeah. You can imagine them however you want.

I also want to note, since I got another ask about this as well, that the casting I choose doesn't really affect the personality and behavior of the characters. It's the other way around really. Sure in the show Alec doesn't have blue eyes and Magnus is shorter, but those (among a few other differences) are completely irrelevant to this fic. If someone is put off by Magnus being shorter (in my fic, I mean) then that's their problem. It's such a mundane detail (for me) and I'm not going to be mentioning the colour of their eyes and their height every five seconds. This fic is rather different so I doubt it'd be mentioned at all (considering it's alec pov too - if you notice he is the kind of character where i don't write a lot of descriptions for the people he interacts with because Alec doesn't care about that a lot)

But yeah. It really shouldn't matter. At least I hope not <3

Anders: He is trying to not laugh, he shouldn't laugh. But it's arguably too adorable and if he is expected to be composed then that is just honestly cruel. There is so much love in his heart as he looks at Hawke, their flustered behavior, and absolutely lousy words of soft comfort and he can't entirely figure out how to contain it. He presses cherished little kisses against their cheek, telling them that it's fine. He knows that Hawke shows love in the way they keep an eye on him in battle, listens to his concerns, and always have him within arms reach- the secretive little touches and just the way they look at him. Softness doesn't come naturally to them, and that's fine, he loves them all the same. But the effort is appreciated and well rewarded.

Fenris: He gets it, really. Fenris is many things but soft is not one of them, and as he stares at Hawke late at night he feels his chest seize up and for a split second wonders if maybe he is dying. But then he realizes that he is just staring at the person he loves and they're acting a fool because of him and well- that is just a little bit too much. He doesn't really understand why, they're not soft people either of them, they're sharp pointed edges and roughed up by the world around them yet Hawke is doing so much just to give Fenris a gentleness he's never quite known. He cherishes it all the more because of that.

Isabela: Oh she bursts out laughing, ignoring the expression that might be called a pout on Hawke's face. She gives quick kisses in succession as rewards and in an attempt to stop them from running away and keeps exclaiming 'that's adorable'. Isabela does eventually soften herself, into a more serious tone and mumbles that the attempt is appreciated but she loves how they show affection as it is. She does try to coax that horrible version of softness out more and more though, there is something about it that makes her feel all warm inside and she gains so much joy from watching Hawke try to form the words and figure out the actions. And maybe, just maybe, she's a bit overjoyed that they're trying so much for her.

Merrill: At first she has no clue what Hawke is on about, doe-eyed and confused staring at them as their mannerisms and words grow more flustered by the second. And then it clicks, and she lets out the tiniest little 'oh, Hawke', endearment in every letter said. And Merrill is all giddy in a second, leaning in closer and practically becoming the embodiment of adorable pestering. She will probably ask for it again, if its some soft little gesture of affection like pushing her hair out of her face or adjusting little pieces of armor- things still within Hawke's abilities but maybe still a tiny bit out of character with the PDA and gentleness in the touches. She is like a cat basking in the sunlight, a beam of sunlight that shines even brighter whenever Hawke fails oh-so-horribly at the little things. She loves them all the more for it.

Sebastian: At least he feels bad for laughing a bit, Hawke looking as much as a fish out of the water as is humanly possible. Sebastian does appreciate it, really, but by the maker, he has to wonder if they're in pain as they try to say things entirely out of the norm for them. He is the type to ask Hawke exactly what prompted this, and reassure that while he doesn't mind this whatsoever (it's cute, he adds in his head, absolutely adorable actually), they don't have to feel obligated. He fell in love with them for who they are, Hawke just needs to be...Hawke. That doesn't mean he doesn't absolutely lean into it, he is usually the one dishing the soft little touches and comments out so when he gets them its entirely something he over-indulges in from then on out.

oooh 👀👀👀👀 so for movies: honestly I really, really loved that scene in pirates of the caribbean, the second one, where will’s dad is forced to whip him 👀👀👀👀👀 orlando bloom is gorgeous and whippings are always very fun, and like, talk about a guy who looks good covered in blood 😌😌😌 also fresh, that cannibalism movie with sebastian stan…. holy. fucking. shit. it’s terrifying and horrifying and absolutely wonderful, I highly recommend. captivity and mind games and cannibalism and lots of fun things 😌😌😌

in terms of shows: this scene from the kenobi show where vader sets him on fire like as revenge, that’s super fun 😌😌😌 and literally all of the andor series, especially the prison break… tbh star wars is pretty good for that kinda stuff 😌 also in the sandman when he’s trapped in that big glass cage, naked and alone, in the first episode… I love that show, I’ve really gotta finish it….

and as for books, there are too many to count. I’d spend my time listing them but I’d have to go back home to my bookshelf to make sure I didn’t miss any… but in terms of books I loved as a kid, island of exiles by erica cameron, battle magic by tamora pierce (that’s when I realized I definitely loved the torture scenes more than other people— I was maybe 8), the eragon series (mmmm a very good whipping scene in I think the second one? and lots of whump in general), as of more recently I just absolutely love the six of crows series, great books with really well developed characters and def plenty of whump… but yeah idk man my brain is dead rn but yeah books good

okay okay okay I have a great variety of kj hcs so imma just shoot a variety at you, of various degrees of seriousness.

Fab Four and Associates:

-Strong believer in disabled Kobra Kid agenda (i talk about this in various degrees in my fics and plan to include more). Personally I think he is selectively mute, but in the way that he is most comfortable when he's not talking. If he is ever talking a lot, it's a bad situation. Also has scoliosis but most people don't realize bc he spends 60% of his time hunched over on his bike anyway and like, yes it's actively making the problem worse. No he will not be doing anything about it he's got Things to Do.

-Jet is like. If wanderlust was a person. He loves wandering around and talking to people and being up in their business but not actively involved and knowing everything that's going on or not knowing what's going on and being surprised. like genuinely everyone knows him because he is always just. Somwhere. He's a guy that's always lonely but not because of lack of friends, it's because he's got so many people he cares about that there's no way for all of them to be in one place at the same time.

-Jet has the driest sense of humor on the planet like he's smiling a lot so it's like 'wait wait are you serious?' and the answer is whatever is funniest. (Ex. from my fics, he wanted to name a baby Jet Star II: Electric Boogaloo, and he was not serious about it until everyone else thought it was a terrible idea and then he was dead serious about it)

-Poison and Kobra are not siblings, so says me. Their whole relationship is "you are useful and I care about you a lot but why are you like this?" and it's true in both directions. they're weird bitches. usually five seconds from hitting each other.

-The Girl is a funny motherfucker because she pays attention. Like a lot of the people around her don't got a ton of exposure to kids, so they assume that small kids don't know what's going on ever, and they are wrong. The Girl always has a pretty good idea of what's going on. She may make wrong assumptions sometimes, but for being 7? she's scarily good at picking up on how people interact with each other and how electrical things work and when a dust storm is about to blow in.

-The Girl will dig holes. And put people's stuff in them. And you will not get it back. She wanted Party and Ghoul to stop smoking so much so she did steal all their nic-sticks and bury them behind the outhouse so that even if they found them there's no way they would smoke them bc of the smell of shit.

-The Girl is absolutely part of a small gang of seven-year olds who like to hang out at the gas station and yell at people.

-While Ghoul and Kobra have a Spiritual Bond (we've discussed this at length, you know my feelings on it, perhaps I'll make a post at some point), Agent Cherri Cola and Kobra are in love, and they're weird about it. Cherri is a girlboyfriend, it rules.

-That said, everyone is pretty chill with Cherri Cola (Jet thinks she's okay if pretentious, and he's right. Cherri be pretentious as fuck) except Party, who is waiting for an excuse to run Cherri over with the car.

General:

-Killjoys got a lot of weird hobbies and games, one of which I did make up and include in an upcomign fic, and it's called Canyon Smash. The way this game works is a whole bunch of 'joys (between 3 and usually 20, but there's no upper limit of participants) gather in a narrow canyon and form a long chain by holding hands. Then the person at the front of the line starts running full speed forward, with the goal being to get as many people behind them to let go as possible. This is achieved by running at walls, jumping over rocks, and generally making it as hard as possible for the people behind you to hold on; if the person in front of you in the chain lets go, then everyone behind them is out of the game as well. There's two ways to win a Canyon Run: 1) you are the last person in line, proving that no one could shake you off or 2) you're the person at the front of the line, and you managed to shake off everyone behind you and run alone.

-I have feelings about Killjoy naming practices and they are as follows. Until a kid is 1-2 (you're pretty sure they're gonna live), everyone calls a kid a Snow Storm, and generally rotates through a bunch of pronouns. By age 2, the kid is given a non-kj nickname that involves something unique to them. Over the next several years as the kid's personality develops, they get to take part in creating their 'kiddie name' which is a trial period to figure out what is meaningful and unique to them in a way that will become their killjoy name. Usually by their early to mid-teens, the kid selects their adult kj name. An example of this would be like for an OC I had, who's name progression went: Snow Storm -> Puff (bc of the way she wore her hair) -> Pet Tornado (as dubbed by her uncle bc she crashes into everything) -> P.T. Crusing (P.T. as an abbreviation for Pet Tornado, and Cruising as a play on the car pt cruiser)

stardew headcanons - twin peaks edition

HELLO all! with the little amount of free time i have, i've been binging twin peaks - a very quirky show about an fbi agent coming into a small, otherwise very normal and humble town, and quickly realizing just what lurks under the surface... being the city girl i am, i've always longed for what it would be like to live in such a rural town, getting to know the townsfolk, falling in love with the small things it provides... and solving murders of course! anyway, naturally i'm going to want to compare it to stardew valley... see below!

THE TOWNSFOLK

*the sheriff, shane jackson, a man who's got his heart in the right place but he himself finds that easy to forget, leads the valley's sheriff department, along with its deputies: deputy samson carmichael, lovable but rather simple-minded and deputy sebastian hawthorne, quick and quiet. and don't forget about miss penelope routier, the lovely secretary that deputy carmichael seems to be head over heels for, and mr. demetrius darnell, the local scientist that helps with forensics and autopsies. the team usually deals with the mundane lost pets and cheating spouses- imagine their surprise upon the telephone call from the local fisherman, willy lyons, about a body floating in the lake...

*the stardrop saloon, owned by augustus chandra, is always lively and bustling with folks in and out. they are known county-wide for their homely diner-style meals and strong black coffee, along with their lovely waitresses: emily calvin, a young woman with the brightest smile in town, and jodi laurent, older than her counterpart but with just as enough pep. jodi's husband, kent richards, currently is awaiting his parole hearing, hoping to be able to make it back to the valley after his year in prison- jodi wishing desperately he doesn't get it.

*and with every small town, there's always an ultra-rich tycoon waiting for the next buck- the valley's very own mr. pierre rosenburg, with the wife, caroline, and the daughter, young abigail. mrs. rosenburg barely recognizes her husband anymore and doesn't bother with the shady deals he does in the dark- but abigail is determined to take him down, doing her own sleuthing on what her father really is up to when he leaves for his many business trips.

*the local high school is rather small and underfunded, but the students there feel loved and closely knit. everyone knows everyone else. among the few hundred, there's the expected valedictorian, maru darnell, with her outstanding academic record and eager commitment to do great, alexander mullner, the football team's star quarterback who seems to love getting in trouble with girls, and abigail rosenburg, the beautiful and cunning daughter of local businessman mr. pierre rosenburg.

*there's the small hospital, led by doctor harvey mccarthy MD and helped by many nurses, such as mrs. pamela wilson RN. the two have their own baggage- dr. mccarthy having abruptly moved here after nearly a decade of work in a city across the country, unwilling to state why, and nurse wilson battling an addiction to alcohol, wanting to get better for her estranged daughter...

*there's young miss haley o'henry, who dropped out of high school in senior year to marry trucker clint o'henry, unfortunate enough to get coerced by his seemingly empty promises to provide for her, leaving out how he in the end just wanted a maid he didn't have to pay for. while he's out making 'deliveries' [which she highly suspects isn't the case], she lets alex mullner come over to give her the attention she desires so much - not even trying to think about the consequences if clint ever found out. she dreams of alex saving her from her mistake of a marriage.

*some other oddballs in the town include linus wickerson, a quiet man who seems to live in the forest, only coming out to the saloon every once in a while for a hot cocoa, mrs. leah white, a shut-in artist who refuses to leave her home after the unexpected death of her wife, and elliott mariposa, the valley's paper editor- eccentric and keen to many of the town's residents' secrets.

*sheriff jackson knew things were becoming far too much for small-town cops like him and his team. and with that, a new person popped into town, dressed professionally with a clean haircut and fancy shoes - an air of deductive intellect to them... they shook hands with the team, deputies hawthorne and carmichael sharing a suspicious look upon the newest addition to the department, and with a smile, said: let's get started! [insert your farmer here!]

THE RELATIONSHIPS

*penny and sam had a few flings throughout the time they've worked together- penny thinks he's rather handsome in his uniform and sam loves her sparkling green eyes- however, the two both don't know what to do with themselves when they are alone, sam being rather shy and penny believing men need to step up and make the first move. eventually penny realizes sam just might not be very mature and she sees the writer elliott, who gives an air of extreme maturity and haughtiness that rather turns off penny, but she's trying to send a hint to sam to fight for her, so she continues to see him despite not being in tune with her. sebastian catches on to this office romance, stopping sam in the hallway- what are you doing? fight for her! and staring down elliott whenever he has the chance!

*kent had been involved in an accident, sending him in for 2 years, with parole. jodi never truly loved him, having married him out of spite to her rather controlling parents and running off with him in hopes he'd take her to better place. instead, he got caught drunk driving and sent to prison, leaving her a waitress barely making ends meet for herself. the only thing that keeps her motivated to live another day is caroline- with her husband out so often, the two came together lamenting their lives, having expected it to be so different when they were younger. the two would share a bottle of wine on weekends while her daughter at a friend's and husband out of town on some business trip- one night things had escalated with the two finding themselves in the same bed, not wanting to get up and stay in each other's arms! the two make plans of leaving their husbands but that's all they are- plans for another life.

*clint wasn't always this unshaven, hot-headed, greasy trucker- he had money and loved to spend it on shiny things- a fancy corvette, slick boots, a leather jacket- upon seeing how laid-back and free haley was, he simply thought it'd be easy to get her under his roof with his expensive car and wads of cash, to fold his laundry, wash the dishes... when she saw him for what he really was, she began to hate herself for getting caught up with such a deadbeat- cutting off her parents, dropping out of class, halting her entire life for this man that she couldn't stand to look at. he'd be so nasty to her the days he was home, the days he wasn't providng some relief to haley. she'd have alex come over, meeting him through clint no less- alex'd help clint with local deliveries- and would dream of how he'd be a far better husband to her, a far better lover!

*pierre had been a hotshot in his prime years, thinking he still is something women swoon over in his late-forties. his lack of self-awareness allowed for his ego to be inflated through the purchasing of a certain gentlemen's club up north- he chases after its young women employees, using up their young girlish charms as vitality to keep himself afloat... without their sweet words, suggestive touches, and nights where he can feel young again, he'd be bored- as simple as that!

AND THE MURDER

the town's sheriff department received a phone call one morning on february 24th, a body being found washed up ashore by the local fishermen, willy talking to sheriff jackson with a quivering voice. the boys take a trip to the pier, deputy carmichael sobbing as he takes photos of the young woman's body- nothing like this had ever happen in this small town. overcome with sadness, shane makes the call to the parents of miss delilah lalune [my farmer], the victim, to their unparalleled grief. the whole town mourned her together, her absence having an impact upon every nook and cranny of the town. her closest friends made it their mission to find what really happened to her- they knew she was in some sort of trouble but never in their wildest dreams thought it'd turn out like this and that and that and this- questioning suspects and analyzing clues- unearthing the story, it getting even deeper and deeper, with more dark and perverse parts of society coming out to the light...

I would pay people to stop with the "Seb is practically Mick's dad now!" bullshit. I don't think people realize how ableist that sounds. You're essentially erasing any impact Michael had in raising his own child because he suffered a life-changing injury? Mick has a dad. Sebastian is like a mentor, a good friend even, but for the love of God, stop acting like Mick never had/doesn't have a father when he does.

Anoncan I'm so fucking fed up with GridDad Seb. There are many things wrong with it from indirectly invalidating Seb's talent to turning him into a grandpa even with guys he is of similar age like Daniel and Valtteri and as if the guy's only relevance is to be a father figure to their hot shot.

The case of Mick is much more rage inducing coupled with the above shit I said. Mick has a legendary father and Michael is still there for him even though possibly not in full capacity as a healthy guy of his age would be able to, but he is there.

Sebastian is Mick's friend with whom he has a brotherly and mentor/mentee relationship.

Also, the amount of p*rn art/fic I see around for them makes me want to hurl the contents of my stomach and got me block some related tags even though I like Mick a lot.

Ramblings on SamBucky and SarahBucky

1. As a queer POC in a biracial relationship, SamBucky becoming canon would be an absolute dream for me. 😍😩😭🙌🏼 I’ve never cared about a potential MCU ship this much before. HOWEVER, I do understand that the chances of this ship actually sailing are slim to none. So, I’m just happy to be here, lurking on Tumblr and AO3 for SamBucky content along with Stackie content.

2. If Marvel REALLY wanted to, it wouldn’t be hard for them to make Sam and/or Bucky queer. Sam could easily be gay and the only confirmation we would need for that is a simple comment from Sam or Sarah about an ex boyfriend etc. Bucky could so so easily be bi and all that would take is for him to say that when he tried the dating apps both men and women had so many tiger photos and he is so confused by that or something. Making these characters queer wouldn’t take a lot of hard work in terms of writing and it wouldn’t take more than several seconds of screen time.

3. I realize that it is unlikely that the MCU will offer us the kind of queer representation we hope for. Generally, queer stories in Hollywood are about coming out trauma or some other big narrative and just never something simple and happy. The best queer stories I’ve ever seen were the ones where no one was forced to talk about it - someone was just bi, and there was nothing to discuss. They are just living their life. That’s what I wish queer representation was in Hollywood on most days, but it isn’t. Not to say that our struggles should be erased, but we also just deserve some FLUFF you know? Unfortunately, I don’t expect that Marvel is working towards queer representation with any kind of real purpose that way. Sure, they intend to introduce a gay character in an upcoming movie, but the fact that it had to be announced and discussed and is some BIG DEAL is what I dislike about the portrayal of queerness in media. As it is, they are only just coming around to decent gender and racial representation. So better queer representation will unfortunately take some more time.

4. Personally speaking, even if no major queer ships became canon in the MCU, having some of the main heroes actually just BE queer in canon would be MORE than enough for me rn tbh. 🤞🏼

5. I must admit that my interest in SamBucky actually stemmed from the clear chemistry between Stackie. Anthony and Sebastian have SO MUCH vibrant joy, love and respect between them that I started to see so many possibilities for SamBucky. This means that I can also easily understand how some people don’t see any romantic undertones in SamBucky at all. I was someone that didn’t really see many romantic undertones in Stucky (though I would have been FULLY onboard of it becoming canon). What I saw there was deep friendship. So, I know that what I see in SamBucky now could just be something I’m projecting based on what I see between the actual actors. I’m not denying that there is some queer coding in SamBucky canon or Stucky canon. But sometimes I feel like those moments in most of the fan favourite ships are just fan service crumbs and nothing else. And even then, I think some of it might even be done without any real intentions to queer code. It could all just be a simple nod to the BROMANCE, if you will.

6. Marvel has no real excuses for not making Bucky bi/pan, but I see how they might actually struggle with making Sam queer. Our new Captain America being a black man is something complicated in and of itself as shown in TFATWS. Making him queer on top of that would make his acceptance by the general public as the new Cap vastly more complicated, even within the MCU universe (at least in the eyes of the people creating this universe). It can obviously be done, but I don’t see that Marvel would believe they can go there with ease. In fact, they might even think that trying to go there might switch the narrative even more from Sam’s heroics to his personal life, which really isn’t what the MCU is about. For this reason, even if Bucky becomes canon bi, I don’t think Sam will ever really be canon gay/bi/pan, making the SamBucky ship something that will never realistically sail. 🥺💔

7. Being realistic (and sad 😔) about SamBucky never actually having a chance of happening in canon brings me to SarahBucky - another beautiful chance for a biracial ship. One that can very easily happen (literally, it only took one smile and hello for this ship to take off because of the blatant heteronormativity in media - le sigh). At least if this ship sailed though, there will be SOME beautiful biracial romance representation AND it would be hella comedic when Sam and Bucky become in-laws 😂. Think of the potential there. Seriously, just give it a minute.

8. I know it’s TOTALLY unfair that there could be so much love and care between two male or two female characters and still a hetero relationship with just one vague moment has infinitely better chances of becoming canon. But that’s unfortunately where we are still, and hating on SarahBucky won’t fix that. SamBucky is incredibly unlikely to happen (though I will always keep my fingers crossed), so if SarahBucky has any chance to actually happen, we shouldn’t get angry about it and boo it. At least I’m not going to. Supporting the chance to see a new biracial ship on screen, especially one with a beautiful strong-willed dark skinned woman and a mother of two, is a good thing. And personally, I support at least one of the Wilsons to get that 106 year old dick! 😉

As much as I like Klaine,I am always upset over Chandler episode... first of all,that Kurt gave that dude his number,and secondly,it makes me sad that he spended more time texting him than his own bf. Also,were the texts he was sending back to Chandler flirty as well,or it was just Chandler's side? Yeah I mean, that's totally fair! That whole situation was definitely not a good look for Kurt. I love him, he's my favourite character, but he is far from flawless and this is just one example of a time where he fucked up. They were having issues, sure, but that's not an excuse. Kurt absolutely knew what he was doing when he gave Chandler his number and they started texting.

I've seen arguments about whether or not it constitutes cheating, and honestly I don't really want to get into that because I don't know the answer (and I don't think there is one right answer, anyway). But I think it's a moot point regardless because it still clearly hurt Blaine and crossed a boundary in their relationship.

Honestly, and this is based solely on personal opinion and my views of Kurt, I don't think he was being as flirty toward Chandler as Chandler was to him. Probably a little bit to encourage it, but I think he liked the attention and didn't so much care about Chandler himself aside from that he was the one giving the attention. Which... makes him sound like kind of an asshole I realize, but well, we're all assholes sometimes, aren't we? He was wrapped up in himself and maybe just didn't realize (or didn't want to admit, is more likely) the way he was acting wasn't appropriate – to Blaine or to Chandler. Again, not an excuse, but that's what I think was happening.

As far as the comparison to Blaine and Sebastian texting, I think it is a fair criticism to make of Blaine, BUT in this specific context it was Kurt trying to not take responsibility for his own actions and turn things around on Blaine, which is absolutely not cool. If Kurt had an issue with Blaine's behaviour then that should have been addressed, rather than Kurt deciding that "if Blaine can do it then I can do it." Or maybe Kurt didn't actually mind Blaine and Sebastian's friendship (though I find that unlikely), but even if that's the case then he shouldn't be throwing it back in Blaine's face as a defense the way he did. There are ways to have a mature discussion about issues that come up in a relationship, and this is not one of those ways.

The being said, they aren't mature. They're teenagers. And they're going to make mistakes and fuck up and hurt each other, and they do, on this occasion and on many others throughout the series. They aren't perfect and neither is their relationship. But they love each other, and they don't want to hurt each other, and they make up and forgive and move on.

I'm sorry that you're sad that it's made you ship them less. I think it's understandable, both that you're sad and that it's hurt your view of them as a ship. I think wanting to brush it under the rug is perfectly valid and there's nothing wrong with doing that, but I also don't think it's necessary to brush away every problematic thing any of the characters has done to be able to love a ship. One of the things I love so much about shipping (and I am a multi-shipper, so we all know how much I love shipping) is getting to see the dynamics between different characters, the ways they interact and especially the ways they sometimes clash. I love the drama and the conflict and watching them work through things and coming out stronger on the other side. And you're not wrong if you don't want that in your ships, there's no one correct way to ship characters together, but I do think it's a viewpoint that might help you if you really are having a hard time reconciling something like this with your view of their relationship.

Oh and also... it's okay if it just does make you ship them less. We are allowed to have opinions and preferences and you don't need to justify why you prefer ship X over ship Y to anyone. Klaine used to be my very favourite ship, and I still love them very much but they're no longer at the top of my list, and honestly that took me a bit of time to accept because for some reason I felt bad about it, but there's nothing to feel bad for. Different people like different things and dislike other different things, and that's okay.

TL;DR: Kurt is a flawed character and he fucked up. It's okay if you like Klaine less because of this, but it's also okay if you accept it as part of them and their flawed relationship and continue to love them just as much.

So Sebastian's bored, fresh outta his discharge and kicked outta Augustus' place and honestly that's pretty cool. But like finding a fuckbuddy is hard sometimes, cuz then there's the risk of catching feels, maybe it isn't as pleasing as planned etc etc. Because obviously the first thing Sebastian is gonna look for is a fuckbuddy. Any previous ones he lost contact with and that sucks, plus he's kinda bored with humans. Because I guess in this verse people are aware of the supernatural and whatever. So after Severin makes a joke about making a contract with a demon Sebastian actually decides to do it, he's an idiot and Severin needs to not joke like that. Anyway.

So he messes around and somehow ends up with Jim. Now Jim is tryna give his usual speech of the promise of power for a price, that he could destory any enemies, yadada. Sebastian kinda is an awe bc holy FUCK he summoned a hot ass demon. So Jim finishes his speech and is like "so what do you want?" and Sebastian just. "Gotta be honest, I literally just wanna get laid." And Jim is so fucking confused because that's new, he's intrigued, also this human is being so fucking casual with him, that's fucking new.

Jim ends up agreeing because hey it seems like a win-win, sex and after Sebastian gets bored he gets his soul. Easy enough. So Ig a contract is made, they discuss things like limits and kinks and shit, because communication is important! So shocker it takes like a day before they actually Do It, mostly because both are like "wait that happened what the fuck".

Probably would be good to mention that Jim can sense shit. Like what mood Sebastian is in (happy, mad, sad, whatever). Idc if that's not how demons work it's my shit AU I get to have stupid plot things that can lead to angst!

Okay now that I mentioned that so Jim senses that Sebastian had a shitty day at work, Idk what job because I don't know what else Sebastian would do as a job but I also don't want to make him an assassin. Anyway so Sebastian is annoyed bastard, Jim has an idea, gets some fancy lacy black lingerie and just. Waits for Sebastian to get home. Sorry I still find it so fucking funny that Sebastian CANONICALLY has some kinda sex thing that he named that apparently is really good or he's just a bragging piece of shit. So like on the anniversary of "Sebastian thinks Severin's joke is a suggestion" that's when Sebastian catches on to the fact that he caught feels, he doesn't know what to do, time to explain to his older brother that he fucking sold his soul for some sex. Severin is surprised and then wonders why he's surprised, Sebastian would do that, why is he shocked. Anyway so he kinda just doesn't fucking know what to say. Conversation goes like this:

Spoiler alert Sebastian is an idiot.

So he doesn't mention it but Jim's smart and figures it out. But he doesn't know what to do either, there isn't exactly a "how to unown a human's soul because he fucking fell in love" guide. Unless he just stays, which means he has to bring up that idea, which he does except it's horrible. Literally all he does is suggest that this fuckbuddy thing extends go lifelong. And he only brings it up bc he knows he cares about Sebastian but totally not in a love way, noooo, not in love, lmao what-

Sebastian decides "sure okay yeah sounds fun" and immediately after panics because oh god oh fuck Jim's staying. Then Jim realizes he has feelings and that's new, what the fuck™. So neither do anything because they're idiots and this is kinda new, Sebastian hasn't had a real relationship for a long fucking time, so it's just a state of "shagging acting like there aren't feelings but there are so many feelings" till one time after, Sebastian mumbles those three words out, Jim doesn't know what to do, he tries to give reasons for Sebastian to not love him, now Sebastian is mildly offended and confused, then it clicks, whoops they're dating.

Fast forward to months later, Jim bringing Richard up from whatever realm bc brother fluff, Sebastian dragging Severin over for a proper dinner, cue Richard being a flirty demon to Severin bc I said so, Severin being a flustered idiot, Sebastian rolling his eyes and sighing, Jim just trying to not be the handsy boyfriend he is, voliá, everything is good and nice.

im starting to realize there’s a bunch of connections going on between tma episodes.. i dont know what it Means yet and dont tell me!!!!! ill get there!! but. hmmm. im going through the transcripts after i listen to them to make sure i didnt miss things/checking the details and i just. Keep Finding More Shit, it’s all connected, i feel like there’s something huge going on behind all these and i Do Not Know what it is yet 

this is. very long and disjointed i went through all the transcripts for every episode ive listened to so far and kept noticing more things 

like Don’t Tell Me if im right or wrong ill find out im just gathering thoughts. setting up my little conspiracy board. red strings everywhere

- firstly theres an obvious running thread going about the cursed jurgen leitner books, gerard keay, the. worms. and jane prentiss 

- carlos vittery in Arachnophobia mentions offhand that his complex had an infestation of “small, silvery worms” which passed right over my head the first time but looking at it again thATS THE FUCKIGN WORMS!!!! and martin found. Probably Jane in the basement of that same complex. so. well, (that also means like Who Knows how many people in that building might have gotten infected) (i also wonder whether the spiders might actually be Good, if the worms are hideous parasites maybe the spiders are showing up to eat them/get rid of them, martin says he likes spiders, the spiders almost definitely killed vittery but he was violently trying to wipe them out so maybe it was a greater good kind of thing) (or they’re just spiders and dont have that level of comprehension and like the nasty silver worms. either way) 

- there’s also a lot of Foretelling Of Death but i dont want to go through and list all of those rn

- in Anglerfish, there was some kind of. shadowy hand thing beckoning people into the darkness. Amy Patel in Across The Street describes seeing a similar shadowy hand thing reaching into Graham’s apartment before his. replacement. both of these are described as “folding” in on themselves/moving in a really unnatural way. smoking was also mentioned in both but i havent really been following that as a symbol very closely. possible link with Fire? i dont know

- Repetition. Graham was obsessively filling hundreds of notebooks with the words “Keep Watching,” mary keay’s skin was completely covered in unreadable script tattoos, the paper found by the garbage men was the Lord’s prayer written in latin over and over again, ivo lensik’s father became completely obsessed with fractals and couldn’t stop drawing them. the unnamed burned man in First Aid repeats an unclear phrase over and over again. gerard keay is also covered in tattoos of eyes in First Aid, which was not mentioned before (though probably wouldn’t have been visible before) 

- Graham was convinced he was being watched/followed by Something, harriet was concerned about being followed after she was attacked by prentiss (which. matches with martin’s experience too, though he was much more fortunate), vittery was followed by The Spider, lensik’s father also believed Something was coming for him (and “all the bones are in his hands” sounds very. leitner), and there was. whatever approaching darkness was coming after robert montauk, as well 

- Graham has a weirdly hypnotic table, the first Leitner book found by dominic swain had oddly vertigo-inducing woodcuttings, gerard keay’s eye painting is similarly hypnotic, lensik finds a box in the old tree with the same hypnotic carvings on it 

- not sure if the Spider Apple has any relation to the Arachnophobia episode, but, there’s that, also 

- swain’s book had an image of the sky, which he described felt like you would “fall into it” if you looked at it for too long, and robert kelly sort of “fell into the sky” in Freefall. laura popham describes a sense of being swallowed up by the earth in Lost Johns’ Cave, as well 

- same theme of becoming “lost” in Lost Johns’ Cave and in Alone, similar concepts of being consumed by the earth 

- i dont think its necessarily related to anything else as far as i know but just wanted to mention also i didn’t process the... extra audio recording in Lost Johns’ Cave correctly, i thought she was saying “help me, help me, please help me” which was unnerving, but didn’t really seem all that critical to add, until looking at the transcripts i realized it was “take her, not me” which was a HUGE punch to the gut when i discovered it lmao. dont ask how i managed to mishear that badly but i am very very bad at auditory processing which is why im reading all these scripts to make sure i didnt process them wrong

- Graham mentions he’s gay, and the man who had the dream about gertrude mentions having broken up with his boyfriend, Graham. jon doesn’t comment on this and it’s not necessarily the same graham, and im not sure what the significance is if it is, but it seems like an odd coincidence if it isn’t. “antonio” doesn’t go into detail about why they broke up, but mentions they had been living together 

- the name Joshua Gillespie stands out to me for some reason, like I’ve heard “gillespie” somewhere before, but I haven’t noticed it coming up again in any of the transcripts unless I just missed it. could just be that my brain decided to Remember that name for no reason though. he’s the guy with the coffin 

- jon mentions this, but Breekon and Hope deliveries were responsible both for the weird coffin and the yellow stole from the incident with father burroughs 

- there’s a major ongoing theme of Fire and Burning, both just in general, and a more specific Fire With No Apparent Source thing continuously happening. the prayer paper in the trash had been burned, timothy hodge burned his apartment after the Worms Incident (and martin mentions noticing one of the worms looked slightly burnt - maybe it survived the fire and returned to jane?), sgt. berry was “distinctively marked” by an incident with a flamethrower, the vampires are supposedly very very vulnerable to fire, raymond fielding’s house burned down and his. ghost? disappears with a burning smell and a burnt spot on the floor, lensik experiences an intense, unbearable heat with no clear cause soon after the encounter with raymond, which father burroughs also experiences in his account. the mysterious coffin in Do Not Open had an unnatural heat to it. gerard keay burns the leitner book and picks up the still-smoldering ashes but isn’t concerned with the heat, and then appears again as one of the burned men in First Aid, having apparently experienced second-degree burns on every inch of his skin, but had completely undamaged clothes. the nurse describes feeling a burning sensation when the chanting starts, but dismisses it as a nervous reaction, then experiences the. boiling drink bottles and the burning hot door handles. she says she could feel a burning heat from gerard’s hand. the burned man’s body immediately self-cremates when gerard kills him. lee rentoul also gives specifically a lighter to angela for her Piecemeal curse, though that might be coincidental. he does burn the first box after he discovers it, though

- the garbage man describes the last Weird Trash as “tied off with a dark green ribbon, arranged in a bow like an old-fashioned Christmas present” - which contained a copper heart, possibly symbolizing alan’s real heart, with the rest of his body never being found. this matches both with robert montauk’s killings and the cursed boxes from angela’s curse- “brown paper and string, like an old-fashioned Christmas present.” there was also the weird thing with raymond’s hand, but im not sure that’s related 

the vampires’ victims bodies also seemed to disappear, not sure that’s related either 

- jon confirms that the pendant julia describes (the one belonging to her mother and also her father’s last victim) is a symbol of the People’s Church of the Divine Host cult. wondering if this is related to what father burroughs experienced. gerard keay is searching for a lost pendant in First Aid, but its design is unclear, and he describes it as brass. unsure if related. the fact that gerard’s tattoos/etc were of eyes, and the other pendant is of a closed eye, while one is made of brass and the other of silver seems like there might be some connection though even if it isn’t the same one. there didn’t seem to be any burning involved with the montauk case, anyway 

then there’s. this entire thing im just gonna paste it here, from sebastian adekoya in the Boneturner’s Tale:

this definitely seems relevant to jurgen leitner (and this is. one of the episodes about a leitner book, so) it definitely seems likely that he’s spreading some kind of.... Belief or Self or Power or Something through his books, possibly even his own consciousness is within them somehow, or at least the consciousness of Something or Someone. the man with all the bones in his hands. taking bones and warping them. bones appearing in the pages but Wrong. might be related to the bag of teeth, too, hundreds of All The Same Tooth

definitely something to the... immortalization of thoughts/memories/Consciousness through written word, especially when we consider the words literally tattooed into mary keay’s skin/the book possibly bound in her skin. i cant put a coherent thought together on this but its definitely... important, i think 

sebastian also for some reason specifically mentions he was holding a copy of Stephen King’s Misery in the confrontation with Jared’s mother, which is a story about an author being forced to write something against his will/words that aren’t really his own, to appease someone else, which. seems like it might be relevant somehow too, maybe. the fact that it was named specifically when it wasn’t apparently relevant to the story seems interesting

i hope this was okay anon, i sort of took it in a different direction! guys im so swamped w exam stuff rn its just sad

75. Our first date is spent walking around our small town holding hands and talking as soft snow falls around us

North Carolina hardly ever saw snow. Which was fine. But even I couldn’t resist when the blanket of white fluff freshly covered the ground.

“Do you mind?” Sebastian sounded nervous through the phone, like he didn’t know if the drop in temperature and addition of icy roads would cause our date to be canceled or not.

“I don’t if you don’t.” I smiled.

“Okay then, I’ll pick you up in an hour.”

“Sounds good Seb. I’ll see you then.” For all the nerves flipping around in my stomach the response was surprisingly calm and felt natural.

I took my time getting ready, listening to my Christmas playlist and singing along here and there. And by the time the hour was almost up, I had slipped on my warmest coat and some doc martens considering I didn’t really have snow shoes. I slipped my phone in my pocket as I heard the doorbell ring and my dog started barking and she ran up to the door to see who it was.

I opened the door to see Sebastian trying to casually lean against the frame, while I held Lily back by her collar. I laughed as he immediately went to my golden retriever instead of me. He gave her a little love before coming inside and wrapping me in a hug, “oh, well hello to you too.”

“Hi,” he murmured into my ear, causing my heart to race. He pulled back, going and letting my dog into the backyard as I grabbed my keys and such. “Are you ready?”

“Yeah, just let me lock up.”

As we piled into his car I was curious, “what’s on the agenda for today?”

“I figured we could go to the town square and walk around the Christmas Market.”

“Aww that sounds amazing.” I could see the pink tinting his cheeks a little, and I just smiled, getting used to the fact that it was me making him all nervous, “That’s why I was a little nervous earlier though, I didn’t know if you would want to be outside when it’s way below freezing.”

“I’m down for anything with you.” 

We found parking pretty quickly, surprisingly, and in no time, we were walking around looking at snow covered Christmas trees, drinking hot chocolate, and looking at the different shops for ornaments and trinkets and such. It was fun seeing this side of Sebastian, a softer side, it seemed.

The sun was starting to set, and the town Christmas lights were starting up. I was waiting for the town hall lighting of the tree. I took a sip of my cocoa, and as the tree lit up the night in a soft yellow, I felt a hand slip into mine. It made my heart leap a bit. And the smile that had been there all night, suddenly got a little bigger. I had liked Sebastian for a while, and it still took a little getting used to when I first realized he had feelings for me too. 

I knew Svech and Dougie were up to something. The entire Christmas party they were watching me like a hawk. They kept their distance but they were always close by watching, and I was going to get to the bottom of it. 

I tipped my champagne back and forged on into the kitchen to pour myself another. My only line of defense was my ugly sweater that read “oh snap” with the damn gingerbread man on it.

“(Y/N/N)!” Svech started, throwing an arm around me easily, “where’s Sea Bass, I thought you two were a package deal?”

Come to think of it I hadn’t seen Seb in a hot minute. Last I saw he was getting me punch, but that was 20 minutes ago. I think Andrei could tell I was thinking too hard as he squeezed my shoulder gently, “I actually haven’t seen him, let me know if you find him?” 

“Will do!” The baby Russian chuckled as I dove further into the room, literally running into Warren, “have you seen-“

“Seb?” I nodded, “him and Turbo are out on the balcony.” He smiled as I patted him on the shoulder gratefully, “thanks Warren.”

“Sure thing (Y/N/N).”

I started towards the balcony, the music fading with every step, and as I opened the door, it felt like I had interrupted something important.

Both boys abruptly turned their heads to me,“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.” I tried to push back into the party but Seb called me to wait. Teuvo headed my way with a slight nod, and left us alone on the balcony.

“Is everything okay?” I asked, coming to rest my arms against the railing.

“I Uh, don’t know.”

“You just kinda disappeared.” I said. His brows furrowed and I could tell he was lost in thought. I reached up and smoothed the creases between his eyes with my thumb. His eyes trailing my fingers all the way. I was about to pull my hand back and he gently grabbed my hand, kissing the back of it which caused my cheeks to flush a bit.

“What was that for?”

“For being my best friend.” He said, lightly resting his hand on my back to guide me, “c’mon let’s go back inside.” As we walked in though, the door chimed, and when I looked up I saw mistletoe, which wasn’t there when I walked outside all of ten minutes ago.

I turned to Seb, who was glaring at Svech and Dougie. But I didn’t care really. I leaned over and found his lips, soft and shocked at first I think. I pulled back, thinking no reaction was a reaction in and of itself, but then his lips were on my again and I couldn’t resist. I was thankful for those little shits even. 

My opened my eyes slowly as we pulled away and a smile made its way to my lips as he said, “go on a date with me.”

“Seb we’ve gone out together so many times.” I laughed. 

“No like a real date.” His smile lit up as I replied, “okay.” And he kissed me again.

Now as I was tucked under his arm I could see and feel the snow flakes falling around us. “I’ve always wanted a white Christmas.” I said.

“I’ve always wanted you.” He kissed my forehead and I leaned into the feeling of it. 

“Merry Christmas Sebastian.”
