In general I believe in the supernatural but I still approach things with a healthy degree of skepticism. However if you tell me you saw something paranormal at sea I will 100% believe you no matter what. If someone tells me they saw ghosts on land I would need some proof before I’m onboard but if someone tells me they saw ghosts in the ocean I’d be like yeah man we all do

Fastest Growing Fandoms on AO3 This Week (05/13/2024)

Every week I pull data on how many fics are in each fandom and compare to the previous week, then calculate the percentage increase to determine fastest growing fandoms.  Since this naturally skews towards smaller fandoms, I have included the same data filtered to Over 1k, 5k, & 10k fics.

I have been recently thinking of my sea alien story so I drew my characters because why not :> The art is underneath and I’m also gonna rant about them

The red shark is Koa and the whale shark jellyfish hybrid is Siren. (I know sirens aren’t fish related but it fits her since she’s into singing too)

Their dynamic is frenemy kinda. Both of work similar jobs, but the only difference is Siren’s work is more professional while Koa’s job is more rebel like.

They bump into each other sometimes on missions, mostly if they’re after the same thing. They don’t really hate each other and are actually happy to see each (they won’t admit tho 👀)

I believe in immortal scully in the sense that scully doesn’t die. However I also believe in immortal mulder in the sense that every time he dies (and it happens fairly often), he just resurrects. RIP to everyone else but he’s different. presumably because he doesn’t know how to leave scully alone for any extended period of time

I was made aware of this through a reddit post: we can nominate movies to be preserved in the National Film Registry, and we should nominate some Dreamworks movies. Shrek is already in it. The criteria is that the nominations must be at least 10 years old and an American film. With this in mind, I think we should nominate the following movies to be preserved in the registry:

Kung Fu Panda

How to Train Your Dragon

You can nominate up to 50 movies at this submission form. Deadline is August 15. The Library of Congress also has a list of notable movies that haven't been preserved in the registry yet, which includes other Dreamworks movies you could nominate:
