Fuck I love giving Sanemi from the tsuguko au have a motif of running, whether it be figuratively running away from trauma or problems or literally running into the sunrise.
Does Giyuu ever meet Tamayo and Yushiro because he's Tanjiro's tsuguko or does Tanjiro keep that to himself?
("whats that tanjiro-sensei" "nothing dont worry abt it" *chachamaru comes into existence* "absolutely nothing at all giyuu woah wait look over there sabito became human" "what where??!??!?" *sneaks blood sample into pocket with a horrible lying face* "oh sorry giyuu my bad")
while the theoretical humor of tanjirou's poor attempts at secrecy are incredibly amusing to me, i did plot out that one of the first thing tanjirou does with giyuu and sabito when they come into his care is take them to see yushirou and tamayo
here's actually an excerpt from the yushirou fic i'm . slowly writing:
#kny#demon slayer#queries#scribings#sun hashira and tsuguko au#have people realized that tamayo and yushirou are also swapped in this au?? i can never tell#also once more i loved the fic thank u for writing it <3

Basically chipping away at a reverse suncrab role/species swap because. I need this rn. Anyway the judgement bazaar would be a nightmare ♡
#I'm thinking of a broader au than a direct swap so. Sol is to me bird not crab. Scrive Spinster kinda species.#I have a lot of thoughts to write up maybe if I draw something for it#I sometimes feel I'm going too hard on the bazaar being love obsessed as a trait. But then I remember we're on city number 5#So basically I think it would be a cosmic matchmaker using soul mates to turn its kingdom into a soap opera for its delight#Plus researching the nature of emotions and love but also just. Really into the drama and trials of LOVE. But also. He's desperately single#Sol got one rejection and baz was like 'he's going to kill himself' but. Judgment baz is like. “So is the journey of love!! :')”#Probably actually planning relationships to study for insight on his own failed love life.#Anyway since I'm still talking. Sol is the bird scribe in the palace Baz tells alllll about its day. Sol keeps the diary. Wields the glitte#Obviously then you get questionable forbidden love

I'm not sure if you mind or not, (and if you do I apologize) but I thought up of an extension to that scribe swap au. Maybe a collab version if you will. :/ cult of the lamb x inscryption to be exact... So essentially the bishops of the old faith are made of the old data and take over each of the 4 realms. For example, the one we know in love with the pink moon is controlled by Shamura, Bishop of war, it is they who are responsable for all the squandering and power fights. They do this in order to try to free themself. But I'm not sure how the rest of them will play out... ( also, I don't know if you know Cult to the Lamb are not, but in case you don't, for reference. Kallamar is bishop of pestilence and I was thinking of making him rule over the blue moon, heck, it is the Bishop of famine, and she rules the yellow moon, and lastly, * for the sake of distinguishing between the 2* leshy jr! * the scrybe leshy is refered to as leshy sr.* or some just call him Beelzebub, he rules over the green moon. And the center of these worlds, a former bishop and middle sibling, narinder is chained in order to keep him from foiling the bishops' plan of domination.) **again if you do mind me just barging in like this, I'm sorry, and you're free to not respond to this. I just thought of your scrybe swap au and this thought couldn't leave my precious mind.**
personally i'm not at all knowledgeable or fixated on CoTL, but if you want to make a fragmentary crossover AU thing, go for it! sounds like a cool concept, and it's always fun and flattering to see people get inspired by my lil AU ideas ^^
#doot answers#also if anyone else is into this concept you guys can chat about it!#i wish i could say i was interested in cotl#it's just not my vibe#but i've seen tons of cool stuff about it

time 2 ramble about forgotten realms au aka my bg3 au thats just me changing around lore it will live under the cut
tldr i love dead three
the main thing i wanted to change for fr/bg3 rewrite au whatever you call it is how weirdly out of place bane feels among the dead three. murder and necromancy? yeah those are sufficiency death-like. TYRANNY? YOUVE LOST ME. i say this with all the love for forgotten realms (well mostly)
there’s also kelevmor, who is ALSO a death god but weirdly separate from the dead three situation. i believe jergal was a scribe for him, but yknow. shrug. so i just swapped bane out for an alternate version of kelevmor, then used it to put more emphasis on how the dead three are gods who share one domain split among them. so their whole situation changed to look more like this:
jergal was the original god of death, but when three adventurers came to him seeking glory, he split his domain into three parts: the road to death, meeting death + dying, and the road after death. kelevmor, bhaal, and myrkul.
bhaal and myrkul stay relatively the same; the biggest change is with kelevmor. because he becomes the scribe of the dead, essentially acting like the fates in greek mythology, cataloging the length of each mortal life and recording the exact time and situation fate has decided they will die. from this his domain extends to ideas of control and fate, and is often prayed to by rulers and people in power (anyone who knows their leadership could send people “on the road to death” essentially. kelevmor knows the feeling of holding hundreds of lives in your hand, and the weight it has).
kelevmor is a very solitary god- his task of eternally recording mortal life and death keeps him busy- and very few are actually devoted to him. he has very few priests and clerics, and likely has only had a couple of chosen since he became a god. but the especially faithful are given a blessing: the knowledge of how exactly theyre going to die. it was intended as a test of faith (something something accept the death kelevmor has written for you) but in the wrong hands this can be a bombshell
THIS IS WHERE BG3 AND SPECIFICALLY GORTASH COME IN THIS AU. gortash in regular bg3 is already exceedingly independent- there's a stark contrast between him and bane compared to ketheric and myrkul + orin/durge and bhaal- so swapping his faith from bane to au kelevmor is an easy swap. its also a very PROFITABLE situation, since gortash in this KNOWS when he's going to die. sure, its a bad deal, having a bunch of adventurers kill him (smile for the camera durge haima) but gortash didnt seek this foresight to go along with what fate wants, nor does he care about what fate wants At All. he likely sought the chosen of kelevmor position to learn this, and this is how we see his independence turn to actively working against the god he claims to worship.
to me gortash is such an interesting character when viewed through the lens of someone wholly selfish and driven by power, instead of another gods chosen doing whatever said god wants. the concept of hubris is practically sewn into the dramatic ass outfit he prances around in, and whats filled with more hubris than using a gods power to start a fake cult? he found out when hes going to die, so he used that vision to seek out the person destined to kill him to deal with the problem early, attempting to dodge death itself. but we all know gortash gets kicked off his hubris pillar thanks to the party and this plan does crumble (and he does indeed meet the death he tried to avoid anyway. master oogway one often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it)
anywho this is like a fraction of the insane lore i have just bouncing around my skull like a dvd screensaver i enjoy talking about it
#ramblings#gortash you are a horrible person but youre so fun to think about#also just ignore forgotten realms lore for this i love it but its black and white gods arent super fun to work with

using my fantasy au as an excuse for some fantasy faction uniform concept art:
Knights of Hawkins
The Enchanter’s Tower
variants, details, and notes under the cut
seasonal uniforms and layers of the average knight:
The pavise in the bottom left is far more accurate of a shield, because the heater shield would be worthless against a demodog (but I put too much work into it to scrap it entirely). By and large the Hawkins knights rely on polearms and shields-- standard knights use wood shields and simple spears, higher ranking knights may train in and utilize more complex polearms, and swords are a status symbol that are generally only wielded by nobility. The marshal has a metal shield with the full Hawkins crest on it as a symbol of rank that gets passed down.
Knights are provided a tabard according to their rank, and two gambesons (a sleeveless one for summer patrols, and a longer one for cooler seasons and hunts). The mail, spear, and shield are standard equipment that are on loan through the duration of a knight’s service. Any additional armor or weaponry they have to acquire themselves.
Court sorcerers don’t strictly have a uniform, but they do have a curated and themed wardrobe. Senior enchanter robes aren’t gendered-- some enchanters stick to one as a matter of preference, some swap them according to mood or circumstance. Alchemists, record-keepers/scribes, and most herbalists/apothecaries fall into the hierarchy of the enchanter’s tower, even though they aren’t enchanters themselves.
#concept art#worldbuilding#stranger things au#fantasy#fantasy au#not gonna put this in main tags because it's too niche I think#fic art#(sorry fred for using you in concept art when I killed you off off-screen before the story even started)#also the daily wear knights and squires have underneath wouldn't actually all be in browns and beiges#i just didn't want to introduce a bunch of random colors to the palette#also higher ranking knights would generally have helmets or get help acquiring a helmet#I just hate drawing armor enough that a handful of dumb-looking attempts at helmets with enough peripheral vision was enough for me#lmk if anyone would like alt text because tumblr will not let me add them directly to these images

Okay this idea has plagued me for around 10 minutes, but Sumeru story Switcheru.
Character -> au role they assume
Nahida -> Scaramouche.
Scaramouche -> Nahida.
Idk how that would work, I have a few (albeit bad) ideas.
Spoilers below for Sumeru archon quest below! You have been warned!
1: Rukkhadevata, taking the purest leaf, decided not to recreate herself from an earlier time in the Samsara, but instead chose to create a new “Tree guardian” if you will. She creates Kunikuzushi, and when she dies, the people lock Scara away.
His first betrayal was his creator abandoning him. His second being when his Mother’s followers locking him away. And the third, I’d say, would be when they turn him into a false gos, except in this version, it would be like Osial where the sages try and control a god.
There could be two different versions to this though, one where he’s just a puppet to the sages, or when he grows bitter, and controls himself.
With Nahida, I’d say Ei wanted a puppet that would rule with kindness, like Makoto, and so she created a child puppet. Nahida would see the dreams of the people, and would experience their feelings. Ei, realizing she made her puppet too human, would send her away to live her own life. Nahida would take it gracefully, leaving Inazuma to find herself as well as understand the dreams of humans.
Nahida would end up in Sumeru and would join the Traveler & CO’s fight to save Scara from the sages, and end his tyrannical rule. Nahida would get to him through his dreams and (insert interesting plot I’ve run out of cool stuff) encourage him to rebel/stop being evil.
In game, I consider their dynamic to be like, cold with a sweet spot for his Aunty, but in the switcheroo au, I think I’d be a cold faced ruler with a little kitten to keep him in check.
2: Rukkhadevata created Nahida and she gets locked up, except she can’t travel in dreams so she just sits for 500 years, growing bitter. She trades her gnosis to Dottore in order for him to turn her into a “real god.” When she rises to power, she wants to spread infinite knowledge (including the corrupted knowledge) because she’s crazy and bitter 🤪 People are subjected to strict education, plant life is wild and over growing, and everything kinda sucks.
Scara would have been created by Ei, but would see the dreams of the people and weep. Ei would let him go. He’s a young puppet at the time, so the land of Sumeru, with “infinite knowledge” would fascinate him, and he would travel there, only to find out it’s actually horrible. Scara joins Traveler & CO to save Nahida. Turns out, Nahida was holding on to Rukkhadevata’s continuousness and it was infecting her with forbidden knowledge, so they like, pressure her into deleting her so she can feel better.
Scaramouche is the curious, naive one and Nahida is the distant, cold, but slowly warming up one.
That’s all I’ve got plot wise, onto the fun swaps!
Dehya -> Candace
Dehya, the strong flame mane, is famous for protecting her village, and is like the older sister to the children there.
Candace -> Dehya
Candace would be a mercenary, but more of a hired body guard. With her shield, she would be able to protect her boss. Or send opponents flying.
Nilou -> Kaveh
Nilou is just a young, sweet girl wanting to fulfill her dreams of being an architect. She’s very artistic, and brings new, unfamiliar ideas for her time. The Akedemiya has tried to shut down her art, but she’s like no :3
Kaveh -> Tighnari
Kaveh, being empathetic and absolutely distraught after his fathers death, decides to learn biology and medicine to be able to care for sick individuals. However, he’s in debt trying to run his hospital… and Mehrak would be his assistant.
Tighnari -> Alhaitham
Tighnari, doing exceeding well in his studies, gets offered role of the scribe. He accepts. Tighnari is well versed in many topics, and enjoys chatting with his peers.
Faruzan -> No swap, just rework.
Faruzan, after escaping her puzzle, helps Tighnari and researchers learn about the past/read old documents. In this au, Faruzan would have had to be in the puzzle for a little longer. Idk maybe I’ll give her some Khaenr’iah lore. She is the assistant to Tighnari.
Alhaitham -> Cyno
Alhaitham is the cold, honest leader of the Mahematra. I mean… he’s buff for a reason right? He doesn’t enjoy TCG or dad jokes, but he reads in his free time.
Collei -> Nilou
Collei is just a sick girl who loves theater. She still has Eleazar, but is making the most of her life. She figured she’ll die before she graduates from the Akedemiya, so, “screw that I’ll go into the arts!” She once performed in Mondstat, so that’s how she would be close with Amber, and possibly Barbara too.
Cyno -> Dori
Cyno just has a lot of money and drabbles in the black market.
Dori -> Doesn’t really have a swap.
But I’d put with her Kaveh. After her sisters death, she’d go learn Medicine as his apprentice.
Annndddd I think that’s it!!!! Let me know if I had made any swap errors!

🌟 Is there any genres the mun doesn’t enjoy writing but you enjoy being part of? and 🔥 How would you spend one day with the mun if you could?
🌟: Oh! That's a bit hard to answer—since I'm still pretty new for mod Scribe to be writing in general. I think I'd probably have to say that I'd enjoy probably enjoy being in a Monster Thriller/Horror genre of writing! I'd get to be big and fierce! Mod Scribe doesn't like the idea of me being in such writing because that means I'd have to be the villain and be defeated :T Vos pretty against the idea of writing a story where I have to be the evil thing that needs to die. All of voi attempts to come up with Swap AUs, for instance, have wound up finding justifications for letting me live!
🔥: Oooo, at the beach! We both really want to go swimming, though it's not quite stable enough weather-wise where mod Scribe lives for it sadly :T I love when she takes the time to check on our blog and to write me!
(Mod Scribe is being referred to using Voidself neo pronouns. Vos is pronounced as V-oh-ss and Voi as V-oy (as in joy). Vo is being utilized like she or they and Voi like her would be used —Sincerely Scribe)

The other night Scribe and I were talking about how fandoms love the idea of age-swap AUs but rarely actually interrogate the idea in interesting ways and instead go for sort of cookie-cutter replacements without thinking about who is the most interesting to have switch roles and how it would change the story if you did, and it got me thinking about how I would do a TOH swap AU. Except now I'm a little obsessed with a couple of the ideas that got tossed around which is..... dangerous
Specifically the ones that won't leave my brain now are:
If your primary proposed swap is (logically enough) Eda and Luz, Lilith probably ought to come to the Demon Realm with her sister, and some of the later dynamics with Belos get extremely interesting if suddenly he's talking to a pair of human siblings who wandered there together
Alternate rebel Coven Head trio of Gus (who has been living a double life fitting of an Illusion head, hiding his friendship with Luz the fugitive wild witch while starting to doubt Belos' system), Skara (who is potentially fostering rebel tendencies in a teen protégé Raine Whispers), and Viney -- the last of whom takes up Raine's role in the plot as the one who gets in a bit of trouble at first running the B.A.T.Ts (....Beastkeepers Against the Throne, why change a good thing?) before they get their revolution more properly off the ground, although she definitely only ever got a Coven sigil with the explicit intention of tearing the system down from the inside.
If you take the adults to all be in their late 40s or so, you get an almost-fifty year-old Hunter who has somehow hung on to the position of Golden Guard (and his life) for almost the entirely of Belos' reign as Emperor and was very possibly created because his predecessor disagreed with aspects of Belos' rise to power. This gives him a practically unfathomable bundle of neuroses, an uncomfortable mounting suspicion that the Day of Unity might not be what he's been told all this time, and, perhaps most dangerously for him when it all blows up in his face -- after almost five decades without having to "replace" his brother, Belos is starting to think that this time, he got it right.
#every time i think about the last one my brain short-circuits a little#can you imagine#anyways i do not need more things to write but....... man#f: us weirdos have to stick together

Class Swap AU Opinions: (I'm probably never going to do anything with this bc I already have too many wips, I just like sharing my opinion)
Wizard Veth (School of Transmutation)
There's a reason she hangs around with a transmutation wizard in canon. Instead of becoming a rogue when she gets turned into a goblin, she uses her thievery skills to steal books about magic in the hope that she'll be able to find a way to turn herself back.
Wizard Beau (Order of Scribes)
Beau is smart. In a world where her dad's shitty last ditch effort is Soltryce instead of the Cobalt Soul, she gets good at magic instead of punching people. Good enough that the Cerberus Assembly has an eye on her, until she tells them to fuck off and disappears.
Cleric Yasha (Tempest Domain)
Yasha is gentle and sweet and faithful. She'd rather heal people than hurt them, though she'll absolutely bring the fury of Kord down on someone if she thinks they deserve it. She's scary to her enemies, and invaluable to her friends.
Cleric Fjord (Peace Domain)
Fjord is the diplomat of the group, the one who smooths things over with people they offend unintentionally. He also wants to protect his friends. Peace domain cleric is the perfect class for that.
Barbarian Molly (Path of the Zealot)
Molly's powers come from Lucien, and Lucien seems to have a lot of anger. I think he could have easily turned over into a barbarian in service of the Somnovem instead of a Blood Hunter if he hadn't been involved with the Claret Orders.
Blood Hunter Essek (Order of the Ghostslayer)
First of all, Essek definitely seems like the type who would get a kick out of blood magic. Secondly, the order of the ghostslayer have a fascination with death and the transition from death to undeath, and I think that ties in very well to Essek's obsession with the beacons.
Warlock Jester (Pact of The Archfey)
Obviously, Jester has to be an archfey warlock in a class swap.
Monk Caduceus (Way of Mercy)
Mysterious person who will provide healing to those who need it? Caduceus anyone? Way of mercy monk philosophies also tie in very well to Caduceus's quote about violence being natural.
Rogue Caleb (Mastermind)
Vollstrucker are the Assembly's chosen assassins and infiltrators. No one said they have to use magic.

We continue our journey in the Anesh desert, fight a few worms, find Perfection, and make plans to beat up the matricidal babies in town.
Alt Title: Tremors 8 - The D&D AU
@gher-bear @aradow @telurin @epimetala
On this day we continue our journey across the Anesh desert, have a nice spot of lunch just outside the valley, and then in one fell swoop, discover exactly what Perfection’s problem is along with what those mole hills all over the desert were about. Somehow our camels all survive!
We kill a few giant worms, then sneak off from the remainder to check in on the town asap. There we find the town infested by an equally unrecognizable creature with only 3 remaining townsfolk all up on their roofs.
We get on a roof as well, use message to communicate with the others and hatch a plan.
In our pause we discover these new creatures are parthenogenic, two of them hawking up whole new babies ready to fight. Lovely.
Over the journey across the desert, we note that Rana and Diem have practically swapped roles with Rana energetic and smiley while Diem in their Tarma guise remains quiet and stoic.
Rana tells Edea all about the meteor and the detour she has planned that the rest of us don’t know about.
First morning there are more birds in distance but hard to see in the sun. It’s a quiet morning with meat stick breakfast on the go, good and early to make the most of the last hours of good travel time.
Eventually we see mesas and get close enough to also see that it’s the lip of a large basin.
The little valley below is more green than rest
Edea’s in good mood so she tells us about the surrounding area with Pebbles interjecting.
Mostly the whole area is made up of sandstone and limestone
Natural springs dotting the landscape ahead, no visible people, though Phi spots some buildings and glimmer of water.
Rana notices the road area has been widened for more traffic very recently
Tarma-Diem is too interested in storytime to do much talking (though they aren’t nearly as expressive under the Tarma guise)
We get just over the lip to the main area of the road close enough to the cliffs for shade and stop for real food (lunch).
Tarma-Diem summons the hut for this, much to Edea’s amusement (though she also partakes of the comfort). One of us (Rana? Phi? Lingers outside the hut for a bit because looking through transparent walls at the view just isn’t the same as seeing it unfiltered.
Then...breadsticks!
17 con check, I manage an hour of scribing alarm.
(”Big like hell underground monsters and they’re coming after you guys, they’re comin right now!”)
Up on camels again, we get in the valley and Phi notices a whispered thing as Tarma-Diem’s method acting fails to make them even reasonably perceptive.
Phi calls out and points at poofs of dust moving toward us but it goes away before anyone else sees it.
Phi: You guys didn’t see it?
Phi describes it as foof foof dust lol
Rana gets off the camel to perceive while feeling more connected through direct contact with the ground, but it doesn’t help. She definitely senses nothing in time to avoid getting grappled by two snake like things popping up out of the ground.
Another pair pop out near me and try to hook my camel, but Jadrie dances out of the way.
Edea stoneskins Pebbles
I stay on my camel.
Edea: Everyone stay off the ground!
I cast fly on my camel in response, it hovers about a foot off the ground and I’m able to steer it forward a little toward the rocks and away from the snakes, but not up.
Rana nature checks: These are not purple worms
Rana tries to polymorph one of the snakes into a mouse. It turns into a clinging mouse on her leg.
Rana: I have one, don’t touch it!
She tries to grab it by the tail. She nat 20 animal handles that shit to set the mouse on the ground and climb back on the camel. “One’s a mouse!”
Phi shoots at the furthest snake in front of her - one of the two that tried to snag Jadrie (since Rana said not to touch the one that’s a mouse now lol).
She does 7 dmg.
The one she shot and its nearby buddy both slink back into the ground, leaving loose earth where they were.
Phi runs the camel (east) in the opposite direction from Diem, and up another bit of rocky area but only gets animal handling of 4.
Phi’s camel gets a nat 20 on dex save when 3 pop up at her camel and it freaks out, then belatedly realizes why she was trying to make it a rock climber. Said camel manages to get up on the rock after all. One of the 3 has an arrow sticking out of it still, grasping blindly at the rocks trying to get her.
Pebbles moves himself and Edea up onto the rocks.
Ixayl’anu drives the elk toward the ones after Phi to try and take a stab at one of the worms that are still trying to get to Phi. She misses. 2nd swing hits for crit dmg 20. They all go underground.
Graboid mouse tries to bite the camel for 1 pt of damage.
Camel flings mouse away but it’s light and doesn’t take any damage, is thrown about 10-15 ft away, squeaking angrily.
Edea: “Get to the rocks!”
Edea then casts silence on Rana’s area, just enough for Rana to get on a rock - Rana suddenly goes deaf, Edea motions her forward.
Rana rolls low on animal handling check, Rana slaps its side with spider climb and tries again.
Phi holds her action for next one’s appearance. Ixayl’anu also holds her action to the same end.
Mouse runs after last spot of sound, but freaks out just inside the silence circle and stops moving.
Whole huge graboid head comes out of the ground at Ixayl’anu.
15 to hit from Phi, it skitters off the hard armor plating of its head.
Ixayl’anu misses. Her 2nd attack succeeds - 6dmg
Creature attacks back - 16 dmg on Ixayl’anu directly, she rolls a nat 20 on her dex save. It let her go because she stabbed it. However, it does not completely retreat, withdraws only a tiny bit back.
Edea casts 5th level blight on the graboid next to Ixayl’anu. 48 pts necro dmg
It shudders and rests a little on the ground, too hurt to go under.
11 pts of eldritch blast from Tarma-Diem finishes it off, electrocuting it with prismatic lightning eldritch blast making it stiffen up and scream, shuddering and exploding all over Ixie.
Tarma-Diem to self: Dammit, I’m gonna be the one cleaning that up later…
Rana watches the mouse trying to figure out what to do. She can’t shout anything to anyone, so Rana has her fist raised to get attention while watching her mouse.
Phi is confused why Rana is looking away from the giant worm with her hand raised, but she also sees two more puffs in the distance, and Rana still has the mouse. Phi: Good job Diem! Two more over there (plus words I missed).
Tarma-Diem, nodding toward Edea: Pretty sure that was mostly Edea, but you’re welcome!
Pebbles passes his action.
Ixayl’anu charges up on her mount, Rana waving a frantic no, Ixayl’anu casts nature’s wrath, restraining the mouse in little tiny vines, Ixayl’anu sees it’s mouth opening up but doesn’t hear any of the angry squeaks. No one hear’s the mouse’s deadly anger. It is so hungry. But no one hears. No one cares. Edea has put up a censor blocking out all of its foul language.
Dex sav throw for Ixayl’anu’s elk as 3 new little guys pop up around her - 15: The elk is grappled by one, wrapped around its leg.
More vibrations are part of what Rana was trying to no no no about, to no avail.
Edea drops the silence and attempts to cast polymorph on the one on Ixayl’anu. It turns into a rat, still clinging to the elk’s leg.
I hold a toll the dead for any new emergence that has not been polymorphed: “What do we do now?!”
Edea: I think we found their problem.
Rana: What do we wanna do about the polymorphs?
Tarma-Diem: Well, Phi said there’s more out there.
Phi: Yeah, there’s more out that way (points vaguely at two spots south and east)
Rana holds erupting earth in that case.
Phi holds an arrow and then uses rat speak to say to snake ~hellooooo friend~ all menacing like.
The rat whips its head around to her and just screams at her.
Phi screams back at it.
Rana tries and fails to perceive a dirt cloud
Pebbles passes
Ixayl’anu tries to stab the rat twice since it’s still clinging to her - 8dmg, *whole worm pops up above ground*
All held actions come into play.
Tarma-Diem: Holy shit that’s huge! *toll the dead for 12 dmg*
Rana casts erupting earth at it and does 8 dmg. Area in the 20 ft square becomes difficult terrain until cleared.
Phi shoots it, but it skitters off the head armor.
Ixayl’anu misses her 2nd swipe, the moving earth fucked it up. Ixayl’anu moves up on top a rock with her elk and bonus action casts shield of faith.
The graboid submerges in the freshly turned earth.
Mouse graboid bites at the vines and gets free. It huffs and looks at Ixayl’anu with all the fury of a no-longer-blind rage.
Edea: If ya’ll get over here, I can hit us with pass without a trace so we can get out of here.
Rana: If you can get Diem, I’ll get Ixie and Phi - Phi get closer to Ixie!
Phi: I don’t think my camel can get there.
Rana casts pass without a trace on herself, which pops the mouse at full health above ground (concentration switched).
The submerged one notices her movements, but her camel rolls really well, notices the snake tongue and lifts it hoof up very slow, very gently sets foot back down because Rana and camel’s goals are one now lol. Basically, that gif up at the top happens with camel toes instead of cowboy boots (yes I chose that wording on purpose. You’re welcome)
Rana slaps guidance on her camel with a pat, +4 to next dex roll as she gets in range to stealth up Ixayl’anu and Phi.
Ixayl’anu gets a 17 stealth to move closer to Rana.
Phi gets a whopping 35 stealth. Where did she go? We don’t know!
I got a 14 on my stealth, when my camel touches down it makes enough noise they both worms focus my direction. Tarma-Diem casts toll the dead on the one above ground and does 12 dmg, it dives away from them.
Rana’s head whips around, Tarma-Diem makes a shushing motion (like: I did it, but over there, away from us, keep going). Otherwise Tarma-Diem is actually taking all their cues from Edea and heading south with their camel.
("I don’t care what they’re doin, long as they’re doin it waaaay over there.”)
Edea quietly gestures us farther down the road, and falls back to be last in line. Rana takes point.
We move ahead quietly, keeping an eye out but nobody sees anything, despite Phi’s 26.
New stealth I do the worst at 14 (again). We later decide this was because I was too busy cleaning up smelly monster guck from Ixayl’anu.
We’re all distracted for the walk, except Phi, who notices disappearing cows in the distance and sends it message stone to us.
Rana is ever practical (this is literally ALL I wrote here lol - I think it’s referring to her not at all minding that they’re busy eating the cows instead of us?).
Tarma-Diem cantrip-messages back: I guess that’s why they’re leaving us alone.
Edea motions us to move a little faster as a result, seeing Phi’s motions.
Last stealth check my gentle whispers helped Jadrie get a 27 on her stealth this time around. Rana practically disappeared (nat 20). Phi got 32, Ixaylanu got 24.
Perception rolls coming into town, Rana and Tarma-Diem are too focused on sealthiness (AKA we’re too focused on looking at the ground)
Ixayl’anu notices this town is VERY quiet. (The townsfolk are wabbits?)
Phi: Woah, looks like some shit went down here…
Rana and I look around at those words and see the wreck of Perfection, blood spatters on walls, doors shoved in, buildings caving in, walkways shattered and more.
Human on roof, tries to quietly make hand gestures like what are you doing, get on a roof, off the ground (Later introduced as Lee Beck, a research student).
Edea casts wall of stone for all our mounts to theoretically keep them all safe, letting us know she’ll have to drop pass without a trace after we all get our mounts on the stone corral. 10ft high walls on either side so the mounts can get out. She concentrates for 10 minutes until it’s permanent.
Rana hung hamlet pouch off camels, phi copied that and told them to stay.
We follow rana into nearest building with door ajar and she sees a creature rummaging. Little flaps raise off the top of said creature’s head and it screams
Rana had her arms out to stop us from passing and slams the door shut.
3 thuds hit the door with echoed screams. Rana tries to hold it shut.
Phi tries to parkour up the building across the way. 22 to get up. She looks around a little from her new vantage point and sees 5 more behind her in the courtyard, other side of the building she parkoured up.
Phi lets us know and says that’s probably what that lady was motioning about, getting off the ground.
Meanwhile, one of the others on the other side of the door from Rana manages to break thru like heeeeeere’s Johnny from the shining, but can’t really open it’s mouth.
Edea reaches out and confuses it - it fails and is sitting there dazed and blocking the others.
(”Everybody...get up on your roofs!”)
Ixayl’anu misty steps herself and rana to the roof with Phi.
I cross to that same building and pull out my rope, make it tie off on the roof. Edea and I climb up and I slip it back into my pack as we duck down low.
2 of the original 3 scream again as they all bust through.
Their flaps raise and they scream one more time, spotting us. We got a 28 stealth from the second group on the other side of the building though, so they see nothing and don’t seem to be responding to the screams.
Rana gestures toward Tarma-Diem then the villager who was playing charades earlier.
Tarma-Diem nods and pauses to sort out exactly what to say first about all this.
Tarma-Diem to Charade Lady: Well...what the fuck do we do now? You can respond to this message.
Charade Lady: We don’t know they just showed up they don’t hear but big ones do, so try not to make too much noise.
I relay these messages
Rana: Why are we whispering?
Tarma-Diem: Because she also said the big ones might come back.
Through some back and forth messaging we establish that her name is Lee Beck (I don’t care where, we just do, okay?) and that we are indeed with the druid who’d been sent this way to answer a call for help. That we’ll take care of it and just need caught up to speed on everything that’s happened.
Lee Beck, together with the half orc female and male human on two other roofs (Val and Earl, respectively) drove big ones away with some explosives, staying behind to do so while the rest of the town got to safely up in the mountains, but now they’re out of explosions and these new screaming guys just showed up.
I ask how long ago and how many. The rest of these exchanges are relayed piece meal to the group, but I didn’t record most of our chatter.
Lee: New ones are very recent, used to be only be four and we’ve counted and killed at least twice that many now.
Tarma-Diem: Where do they come from?
Lee: *exasperated* We don’t know they obvs look the same in the face but they’re different.
*We talk amongst ourselves about that, Phi suggests maybe each piece becomes a new one, maybe?*
Tarma-Diem to Lee: You’re sure when you killed them it wasn’t some sort of hydra situation?
Lee: Yeah we’re sure, the one’s we’ve killed have stayed dead.
We talk amongst ourselves again about just going for it vs. coming up with a plan, trying to figure out how many we’re up against, etc.
After much of this back and forth, Tarma-Diem to Lee: We’re gonna start a fight then over here, so if we shouldn’t...you should respond to this message.
Lee: Be careful to keep it quiet, the big ones are still around and they get smarter - learn from their mistakes, plus they’ll just wait us out, go off and eat cattle, come back.
We do a little bit more planning in response to this. We talk about whether or not we should try and lure them out of the town to avoid as much damage as possible to the remaining structures. How we’d even get out there though, whether or not we’d even make it very far or be able to draw out all of them without having to worry about attracting more of the big ones back into town.
Eventually I message Lee again asking about any better places to start the attack, stronger structures, whether or not, in her experience, she thinks luring them away from town would work.
She informs me she is just a researcher and the two guys behind her are just local handymen, but the person who lived there got swallowed whole and there’s not even a floor under our building any more. Overall though, without any more explosives, the three of them wouldn’t be of much help even if we all did gather on the same roof.
About this time, as Edea has been studying the group not occasionally shrieking at us, she gets our attention to tell us they’re parthenogenic. Two of the ones behind us had each hawked up a new baby, now smaller, but apparently just as capable as they forage around.
Tarma-Diem messages this back to Lee, just to keep her up to speed, just in case.
Lee: Lovely *she just sits down, completely done with this day*

Are you in dire need of stunning movie-pace Good Omens fanfic?
Then I might have the cure for your illness. My bad I didn’t make this post earlier (yeah, I know that little good did the other posts I wrote for other authors, but I’m just like this, and can’t simply stop hoping one day some of them will actually make some good).
The cure is: reading what I now call The Holy Trinity by @improbabledreams900
Don't Play With Holy Water
Mirror, Mirror
The Curse of Horemheb
I think the author is sick by reading this statement by me every time I comment, but I'll do it once more: while reading their stories, whether you're reading about an action scene, a nightmare, an internally driven monologue, a stroll along a crowded street, or the multicolored, manifold, eternally varied human life of a place.... you feel like you’re there and living it first-hand .
It's stunning.
They are all stunning. You can’t literally stop reading, believe me, I’ve tried, but you end up so caught up into a scene, a character’s reflection, a inner turmoil, a depiction of a place, that you have to force your way through and see what’s next.
What about?
Post Armagedidn’t revenge, body swap, possession, and BAMF!Aziraphale
Sort of AU (sort...) in which everything seems the same....until it doesn’t, and a very little, inconsistent change of direction for Crowley, literally changes the sorts of a whole world. And yes, this one has cuddling :)
And finally...EGYPT!! I mean, do you know what it is Crowley in Ancient Egypt?! Can you see it?? And Scribe!Aziraphale!? C’mon....I know you’re such in dire need for Egyptian Good Omens....
Moreover, let’s talk about the characters, and I mean Aziraphale and Crowley. First thing first, if you’re looking for smut, I’m afraid this is not your cup of tea. Nor it is if you’re looking for cuddles and tooth-rotting fluff. It’s a complex, deep, faithful, strong, anguishing, painful, pining, yearning, emotional aroace platonic love relationship: it’s love, but a more complicated one. Not human, and that’s all.
I think it’s mostly difficult to depict this love the way the author does (and that’s why I love them), without stepping into the sexual, romantic, human kind of love, the one so most easily understandable to us mortals, who only are granted a very limited amount of time on earth, and simply devour anything like it could be the very last time we can have it; or, for the same reason, to simply depict a healthy, love-free bromance without any love implication.
It’s mostly difficult to depict love without taking romance or sex into account. And this is what you’ll find here.
Moreover, well....there is the plot. The story. The events. And always be careful to read each sentence twice, because everything means something...it’s just that you won’t be able to see it to the very end.
JUST A WARNING: nothing is in there irredeemable, but please mind the tags and warnings before reading, because even if, as said, nothing is permanent.... well, some events could be disturbing for someone. To me, it’s ten thousand times worth the disturbance, but I prefer to state it out clearly.
Thus spoken, I depart :)

About the Muse Meme
Tagged by the wonderful @bisexualryder! Thank you, deary!
― your muse’s name:
Damita Mavis Surana
― one favorite picture / faceclaim of your muse:
Picture is by @star--nymph and Damita’s face claim is Ashley Moore
― two headcanons you have for your muse:
1. Her Magic: Precise, measured, cautious. Her motions and castings are flawless, practiced over and over again, any instructions memorized by heart. She knows magic can be dangerous, but she has never feared it. She just learns to control it, to bend it to her quiet will. A natural healer, she studies medicine at the Circle. While travelling for the Blight, she is fascinated by Morrigan’s abilities, something out of fairytales. In time she learns to shift and change, her first form a songbird. It is after the Archdemon is defeated, at Amaranthine, when she uncovers a text outlining blood magic rites. She studies and experiments, wanting to understand completely, and hoping that the cure for the Taint lies between healing and blood magic.
2. Her time at Kinloch Circle: Damita was taken to the Circle when she was 4 years old. Her memories of her family are distant, fuzzy, but filled with hope and longing. She dreams of reuniting with them. Those first years, she clung to her fellow apprentices Jowan, Asher Amell, and Felicia and trailed after the robes of older apprentices and mages like Anders and Karl. At the age of 8, she discovered her love of learning and the power that come with new knowledge. She would spent hours upon hours in the library and when she was older, in the labs, testing new theories. Shy by nature, she was sweet, but curious. She was never targeted by the templars, not in any true way, besides the general templarness. But her friends were. So, she learned to be subtle with her magic, to use it to retaliate against those who hurt her friends, never acting rashly, but punishing them all the same. They never suspected her. Not even after she helped Anders escape. She had built her image of the good little obedient mage very well.
― three things that your muse likes doing in their free time:
Research: Damita loves reading and learning, whether ancient stories or scientific texts. There is power and freedom in knowledge, safety and hope. She journals everything, her experiences, experiments, observations. Anything that might be useful/that she needs to remember. Zevran takes her to Antiva and gets her access to some of the royal libraries. Leliana gets her access to Chantry holdings. She is hungry for answers to her questions and will lose hours or days in her research. She needs someone to remind her to eat and sleep. Leliana has found her more than once asleep at her desk or over a book.
Playing the Lute: Towards the end of the Blight, Leliana picks up a lute and after seeing Damita’s interest in it, teaches her to play. After that, Damita always carries one with her. When she is separated from her love, she would play, letting the music ease her loneliness and quiet her thoughts. Leliana sometimes calls her her little songbird.
Practicing Magic: Damita never stops practicing, never wanting to lose her skill. Perhaps it is partially fueled by lingering fears, but she never takes for granted that magic needs to be controlled. She does have fun with it, at times, using it to entertain her friends. But she lives by the motto that practice makes perfect. To the point that Leliana has woken up to Damita mumbling and sleep casting. Damita cringes at the time Leliana woke her up, because their room was covered in flowers.
― seven people your muse loves/likes:
1. Leliana: She loves Leliana fiercely and openly. It is new for her, something she didn’t even know to hope for. The love she shares with Leli is not like anything she had witnessed before in the Circle. Their relationship builds slowly, Damita taken with the worldliness of Leliana, the trials she has been through, her faith, and Leliana is taken with Damita’s goodness, her quick nature, her inquiring mind. They share music, have long discussions into the night. They are married a few years after the Blight, in a small private ceremony.
2. Zevran: Damita loves Zev like a brother. Like an annoying, teasing brother. He feels the same, finding family with her that he hadn’t allowed himself to have before. He gives her the nickname Dami. He (attempts) to teach her to flirt. He teaches her about poisons, she teaches him healing potions. They swap stories. She does not judge him for his past, but helps him see a better future, a future of his choosing. He helps her understand the world outside the circle, that she doesn’t have to fear. She is his best friend and he is hers.
3. Morrigan: Damita and Morrigan are weary of each other at first, unsure of where they stand with each other. But, they find footing with each other, after Damita heals Morrigan from a minor wound, without a word, just doing it reflexively. Damita in turn is fascinated by Morrigan’s knowledge, her skill, her wilder magic. Once they actually start talking and sharing, a bond is struck and while they do not always agree, they are friends, sisters.
4. Wynne: Wynne is a surrogate mother in many ways for Damita during the Blight. She is older, wiser, she has known the life that is the circle. She loves the older mage. But, she does outgrow her. It starts when Wynne cautions her against pursuing a relationship with Leli. Wynne sees hope for the circles, is fine to live her life with them, even after what they did. Damita learns that there is more, that there is a better way and she cannot and will not go back to the circle. When she hears of Wynne’s death, she mourns an old friend.
5. Alistair: Damita relies on Alistair, trusts him. He is the warden, was the warden, in her eyes. She treasures their friendship. He makes her laugh and she treats him as an equal, valuing his thoughts and opinions. In another life, they might have been more than friends. Damita hates that she helps trap him in a role he doesn’t want. But, she doesn’t trust Anora to be kind to the elves, to the mages. Damita knows Alistair will and that he will try to help the Ferelden people. She makes it a point to visit him whenever she can, trying to ease the burden thrust onto him.
6. Sir Barkington: Damita loves her mabari, okay? He is loyal, protective, and yes sometimes smells bad, but just look at his face! She travels with him always, guarding her back. When they are in the city, she has a bow tie for him to wear. He looks very noble in it.
7. Anders: She has strong feelings about many of her friends from the Circle, but Anders is also her fellow warden. She conscripted him to save him. He was one that tucked her in at night when she had a nightmare. He taught her little tricks to make her laugh. He is like an older brother to her. When she searches for the cure, she tracks him down to go with her.
(Not mentioned Cathal Tabris, Catheryne Cousland, and Ciembe Mahariel from the multi-warden AU, but she does love them as well - or her two daughters, Beata and Delphine, who are adopted after the exalted council.)
― a phobia your muse has:
Tranquility: Damita is terrified of being made tranquil. The monotone voice, the emotionless responses, the loss of will and agency, the loss of connection with magic and the fade. Needless to say, when Leliana reports back about what happened in Kirkwall, the needless tranquil, the lives ruined, she was heartbroken (let’s not even get into Karl) and angry.
I will tag: @ocean-in-my-rebel-soul, @gay-dragon-age, @cutieink, @free-the-mages, @red-wardens, @saltlordofold, @slightly-sad-scribe, @trvelyans, @musically-magic, @dickeybbqpit, @loveydoveypiperwright and anyone else who wants to! No pressure!
