The King President of the Most Glorious Nation State of Zilch in his capacity as "Commander In Chief" gets first pick of military research projects. It was in that capacity that he discovered the design for the Skorpiomega Tonk 9000. Designed by a dying cancer riddled child and arriving on his desk thanks to the "Make Happy the Sad Childrens" charitable organization.

The design includes "Turbo Death Lazer" and "Grabby Kill Claws" and "Built In Dad" Technology. Truly impressed by the specs of what is obviously some sort of prodigy, he put it forward into production. The end result was overly heavy, impossible to move, and the laser cannon proved to put out far too much Ionizing Radiation. It also turned out… that the design was a copy of the more reasonably constructed "SK-47" (pictured above) from the neighboring nation of Burgerstan. Thankfully the dying child was execute, and the MHSC foundation have been branded enemies of the Most Glorious Nation State of Zilch.

Lore Over! This was my first ever attempt at making a Tonk for a game of TONKS. But never finished it because I think the scale was off... but have since decided not to worry about and finish it up with additional valves and a new lid.

“Not a coin or crown lies in the dragon’s lair. If not for the golden hue, you would think the dragon’s hoard a vast pool of quicksilver. But as you draw near, the surface ripples and, with an unearthly roar, it breaks as a dripping draconic form emerges to defend the boiling remains of its molten hoard.”
For Smaugust 2023 over on Instagram I am following prompt 3, molten. I knew it needed to be the dragon’s comeuppance for hoarding all that gold. Part ooze, part undead, part dragon, this is intended as a surprise boss at the end of dungeon for a lower level party of adventurers. It’s slow enough to keep away from, until it closes the distance along its trail, or locks you down in molten gold.
Knowing that this one was going to be basically covered in hot glue and UV resin, I focused more on overall shape when picking the dinosaur toys that went into this. It let me use some that had already been chopped up for other builds, and others that had defects in their plastic that I could hide under globs of gold.

Also drew up a 1/64 scale change machine, to go with the arcade cabinets & the rest. Here it is after assembly, puttying, sanding and priming. Very frustrating to get assembled well. Hopefully the paint job will hide the worst of it.

you losers talk about the permanence of plastic and the machine, the immortality and unchanging of parts and bits and flesh ridden computers while i understand that nothing is truly permanent and everything changes into one form and another. it doesn't matter how hard it is to take an object apart it doesn't matter how hard it is ill crack into those wires and plastic bits and rip out the circuits and internal components and the film will lace my hands like the guts of a vhs. it doesn't matter how unusable a single use plastic container looks ill take it apart, slice it up for scraps. meld and glue everything together. chop and reform. twist and contort it together into a finished and built model. even then those are subject to change and being smelted back into the system of pieces to be rebuilt in an endless cycle

Holy hell!
I honestly don't know which part of this conversion I'm most impressed by.
Sword, extremely metal.
Censer, very fiddly.
Texturing the underside of both boots, now that's dedication to the craft.

It's been a while since I built a truly big guy. Quite pleased with him so far! Just a few little bits to tidy up before I can start slapping some paint on him.

Models 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the year are complete. These lizards with guns are a unit of skirmishers for a Turnip 28 army I am building.

It takes a special cunning to be a brood parasite, disguising yourself as a baby dragon. As cuckoos can mimic the eggs of other birds to lay in their nests, so too do cuckoo drakes use illusion and guile to lay their eggs in the nests of other dragons.
This was one of the first scratch builds I started, and the prompt ‘mimic’ was just the kick in the tail this aardvark needed to finish the stats, lore and design for this creature. The flimsy wings and slender body of the dinos I used made me think this would be a low threat dragon, relying on the protection of others for survival.

Finally got to work on another 1/64 scale 'model' idea I'd had: a soda machine.
This is the second prototype. Silhouette-cut glossy cardstock, superglued together, and with a small magnet inside the bottom, for ease of handling & painting. It is currently covered in Mr. Surfacer 500, and probably needs to be primed or gessoed or something before I start sanding it.

1984 Dune Spice Scout
This was my very quick scratchbuild of one of the barely seen vehicles in the 1984 film Dune.  A small ribbed plastic tree ornament, some scrap plastic shapes, and a plastic clothing hanger trimmed to length.
