I had a thought earlier: What if Ezio was Desmond's Sage?

Basically, the usual setup with Desmond using the eye to contact Ezio in the library and offering to send him back in time to save his family, but due to the damage he's sustained from the Eye, he can't come with. Once this moment in the Grey is over, he would die. Ezio begs him to come with him, through any means possible. He refuses to leave behind the divine being he is the chosen Prophet for. The being who is going against Fate itself to give him his family back. Desmond just can't say no to Ezio and tries to see if there's anyway he could come with Ezio. He doesn't want to die if he can avoid it. It's then, through the connection with the Eye and the Apple, that he learns about Sages. With a few modifications for Ezio's safety, that could work. Instead of consuming Ezio's mind to take over, he would just live alongside him. When he tells Ezio of it, Ezio accepts.

When Ezio wakes up, it is to his childhood bedroom. Everything is how it was when he was 17. Is 17. It worked! His family is alive and well! Did the Sage thing work?

Just a thought i had. I imagine that Ezio could let Desmond have control of his body, but Desmond is pretty chill with just watching though Ezio's eyes.

Ezio would have mind conversations with Desmond, which worries his family a lot when they catch him just staring emptily though the air. That and his complete switch in behaviour.

There's probably so many routes to go here, but i'm too sleep deprived to think atm. XD

It doesn’t take long before Desmond realized that all the modifications he made for his consciousness to become part of Ezio had turned him to be the least invasive Bleed to ever be conceived.

Did this count as possession?

Was Ezio even a Sage or was Desmond simply a sentient Bleed?

Wait.

Did that mean that the Bleeding Effect mimicked the experiences a Sage goes through when they start ‘getting’ the Isu’s memories.

Didn’t that mean that there was a possibility that the Animus was based on the research the Isus made to create the-

“Desmond, as interesting as your thoughts are about this subject, I’d prefer it if you were to. Focus!” Ezio was unable to stop himself from raising his voice as he punched one of Vieri’s hired muscles as Desmond liked to call them. The man staggered as he took a few steps back and Ezio swiped his feet before stomping on his groin.

There was a few scandalous looks thrown his way at that attack and Ezio just shrugged.

It wasn’t his fault that Desmond’s skills in unarmed combat bled through to him during these situations and Desmond fought shamelessly dirty.

‘In my defense…’ Desmond quipped from his mind, ‘I was taught that honor and shame have no place when you’re getting ganged up by Templars.’

Ezio grunted as he dodged a punch aimed for his chest, quickly grabbing the wrist and pulling him forward to unbalance him before delivering a high knee strike, making the man gasp as Ezio kneed him on the throat.

Okay, that one was from one of Desmond’s Bleed, not Desmond himself.

But then again…

Desmond was his Bleeds and his Bleeds were him. When he thinks about it that way…

“Desmond…” Ezio gritted as he smacked an incoming kick from another man, quickly jabbing the man’s side before suckerpunching him.

‘Sorry, sorry. My brain’s wacky at the moment.’ Desmond said.

That was an understatement.

Desmond had been in Ezio’s body for only a few hours. They had went outside to try and get a lay of the land and found out the date by Vieri throwing a rock at Ezio and giving Ezio the scar on his lips.

So yeah…

Desmond was still not used to being this… entity inside Ezio’s mind.

“Don’t think too hard.” Ezio backhanded a goon’s cheek hard and fast enough that he was able to topple the surprised and hurt goon with his mind quickly making it known that it was a common technique Altaïr used to do. Ezio tried to focus as he said, “Let’s just get this over with then we can have our mental breakdown in our room, okay?”

‘Yeah, okay.’ Desmond answered and Ezio felt Desmond focus.

It was like his senses became clearer.

His body became lighter.

And…

He could predict everyone’s next move.

To borrow Desmond’s expression at the moment.

Holy shit.

(Desmond doesn’t know it but because he made Ezio his Sage, he is technically a being that has access to Isu senses which he can pass down to Ezio. Ezio’s human body can’t take much of it though so there’s a time limit and that is how Federico comes in and save them because Ezio and Desmond starts getting a headache after using it too much.)

(the following is a qsmp vent post. avoid if dont wanna read all that lmao)

I'm just kinda sad right now.

Cause there was a point where the server wasn't ever really *closed*.

Between Bad, Foolish and Tubbo with their 8+ hour streams, Etoiles' addiction to maxing out his stats, Cellbit, Pac and Phil having clear schedules where you *knew* they'd be on, Fit and the extended morning crew being there practically every day like clockwork, and people like Roier, Mouse, Niki, Charlie, Max, Jaiden, and Antoine (etc etc) instantly spicing up the vibe any day they popped in, fairly constant events (both lore and cultural events), and the admins (of all kinds) keeping it running fairly smoothly (we now know this was a nightmare in many many ways but we didn't at the time) the server had times where it was almost 24/7 and IMPOSSIBLE to watch every stream if you weren't a cave hermit who also didn't sleep

Now...

Now it is almost surprising if someone other than Tubbo or Bad is on the server at all

Roier was on recently and... the ghost town nature of it was miserable to me. It's like walking into a city centre and finding no one.

Just Tubbo's signs that he pretends are from his eggs and Bad's pranks that aren't as funny when the entire in game chat doesn't clown on the person he got.

The lack of admins in particular is the weirdest thing coz you just can't ignore it. It's different from when the eggs were gone coz bored admins would turn up all the time, not just one or two MAYBE to goof off with Tubbo and Bad every now and then (obvious reasons for this are obvious and necessary, I'm not actually complaining that overworked employees have chosen to leave a project that was detrimental to them or that restructuring is happening to keep it from happening again, like bruh).

Like. I'm just. I'm just sad.

Big prayge that somehow Quackity Studios manages to fix this all up legally, that the merch sales really helped and that the server can be somewhat what it was, whatever that will look like.

Until then I think I'll go find the qsmp prison and purgatory vods coz I wanna hear a bunch of multinational multilingual minecraft players yelling in my ears about pixel eggs and the Federation

Also, in case anyone is curious why I decided to give Hubert the "r:" label for tags--

1. It's the best label out of the ones I have considering my feelings towards him. Yes, he could be a platonic, but he's more than that.

2. There just may be a Mirror World out there where Sherry and Hubert end up together.

3. Sherbert is the funniest ship name I have ever come up with, and it only works if their relationship type is "romantic," so to speak.

i really should have started some kind of interfaith org when i was in undergrad. i had absolutely zero time for that of course and was busy with class and orchestra and running a completely different club at the same time but. it would've been nice to have i think

Obviously we have no way of knowing this, so it’s just for fun. But! If you were writing series three (and let’s assume all of TVL is one season) how would you weave in Lestat’s version of what we’ve already seen? Would you do it like the books, I.e. chronologically so give it lots of build up? Front end it a bit - to hook the audience back into a familiar story before going off? Or somehow weave it together (like giving Louis and Lestat an argument in one episode or a fan asking a question in another).

Ooo, that's a really interesting question! I've actually been thinking a lot about how they might structure the season, because while we arguably have a very different set-up in the tour, having Daniel interviewing Lestat instead of Lestat just narrating his life story does run the risk of it feeling structurally like a re-tread of Louis telling his own story. There's also the factor of balancing a lot more modern story than there is in the book, particularly with Rolin wanting to keep Louis as a lead, Claudia haunting Lestat this season instead of later, and the fact that a lot of the bleakest horror moments like Lestat's turning (which as others have pointed out, would be really effective to do as a bottle ep like 2.05) happen fairly early in the book which kind of front loads it a bit?

In that sense, I do think telling it out of order would probably be how I'd approach it? I think you could probably have a lot of fun with that too as Daniel's obviously just heard all of Louis' story, so there's this territory to explore with him potentially feeling like a bit of an expert on that chapter of Lestat's life? He might want to start there because maybe he has questions lingering from Louis' interview, or maybe just could feel like he has a foundation there to build off? That could open up pathways to the deeper flashbacks too i.e. watching shows with Louis in New Orleans tugs him back to memories of watching shows with Nicki when they first get to Paris, or the confrontation with Armand around the trial tugging him back to the confrontation with Armand back when they meet in Paris for the first time.

Plus you have the music which can help to weave through the stories, y'know? It'd be a lot of fun to have songs change in weight and meaning as the audience gets to know Lestat better. But yes! It feels so open still at the moment as to how they might approach it! How would you do it?

They weren't asking for the full conversation, nor for him to divulge what went wrong, there was simply something that resembled another's warning, a memory residing at the back of their mind ('You’ve gained too much influence.'). "Have you thought about it?" there's no hesitation, nor is there anything hinting that they were looking to question him, instead, behind their determined gaze they find themself wavering. They held no regrets for the choices they had made that led them to this point, but going forward…what was the future for them? For him? (ps i cant rmbr just What gran knows about it & i cant dedicate myself to check rn so. teehee. assume i wrote whatever canon actually said heart emoji

Ceodric was the type of person Seofon hated most. Someone who had allowed power to get to his head- something Seofon knew that he was just as prone to (because the proof was there, wasn't it? In the voice that spoke to him far too often- He would not become that person. For the sake of the skies, for their sake) and something he hoped that Gran would never have to truly worry about.

For all their power, they certainly didn't act like it was theirs- more that they shared it with those who they surrounded themselves with. A true leader if he'd ever seen one.

Gran hadn't been there to witness Ceodric's fall, and that was for the best. They were busy dealing with whatever backlash they'd suffered from that ultimate power (something that Seofon hadn't ever reached, and if he was honest with himself, he was okay never knowing what it was like. Maybe that's what made his other self become so ... eugh.)

It's solemn, there's a tension that hangs in the air. Seofon doesn't exactly know how to describe exactly what happened to Gran. Maybe it was for the best that Gran didn't know everything.

You win some, you lose some. ❞ There it is, that lighthearted nature, the front he put up to make sure Gran was at ease, because Gran didn't need more things to worry about. Plus, things were starting to settle, weren't they? Things had always worked out in the past, so why wouldn't this be the same?

Sure. Okay. Seofon could at the very least try to think like that, but it had been an entire year since Gran had been sick, since Orlogia and the Six Dragons had come along. Since the other Seofon had made his home somewhere in the back of his mind.

Things work out. Yeah.

A Letter on Kittens

Since there has been confusion, I thought I'd dedicate a single wholesale post that hopefully clarifies everything!

KITTENS:

Treated as adoptables.

Come with a set design, which cannot be fundamentally changed (markings, eye colors, tabby type, etc.)

Family is pre-decided before birth.

Events happen to character before player has any control.

Player control is limited to character actions.

LONERS:

Treated as homemade OCs.

Designed by the player from start to finish, including all details.

Family is decided by the player.

Player dictates what happened before & after introduction to the rp.

Player has total control of appearance and actions.

These two are both going to (hopefully) happen equally as frequently as each other to keep things well-balanced, checking for things like how many kittens have been born or loners have joined in a single event or season, what that entailed and how characters would likely recieve outsiders at that point in time (the equivalent in kittens would be how willing the parents are to raise kittens at the time). Overall, you are just as likely to see an ad for either one. Sometimes they'll even overlap!

So if you find the kitten system greatly bothers you, and I message you for first dibs on one, feel free to politely decline and ask that your name be saved strictly for loners. If the idea of being given something to work with and working with what you're given interests or draws you in, do the opposite. And if you just want to see what getting in is like, run for the first link you see! (And if you're unsure, try it out - you might like it...!)

To complete the loop, a confession I have is that the highly analyzed nature of wcrp has been tedious to me. I enjoy bonding with others over making designs, but I wished each day I could ask someone to do it for me, and I often muted the chats the players of my children had so I could be surprised by their designs, or only checked in for questioning. I lamented not being able to name my kids things that were important to my character, and the lost opportunity to have the players learn of the meaning behind them! So the kitten system is a reaction to that feeling.

Imagine how gratifying it will be, years down the line, when you find out your cat's descendant was purposefully named after them! Not only that, but there was a highly emotional and well-written thread about their warrior ceremony being how they found out! But the player isn't really an artist, so you never see their design until you rejoin the rp with a new loner. And you realize: no wonder they named them after my me - they inherited the silver shading from me! and you get to be the one that points that out to the server, who proceed to lose their minds.
