The White Flower Curse

Spoilers for Past Life and little bit of blood, you have been warned

"The Lawn Is Dead."

I know I said no angst but I saw an edit with this song and Tango and cracked- I had to okay I had to-

But before I talk about the art I want to talk about a well known curse in the fandom. The Canary curse.

I do like the Canary Curse but tbh don't get it- that much-

Mostly cause this fandom seems to say it willy nilly.

To me it's about the situation.

Skizz could have shot Scar or Jimmy but he got Jimmy, because Jimmy happened to uncrouch and then got shot. It could have happened to anyone, but it happened to him, and it felt targeted. Due to his own "faults" it lead to his death

Same with Lizzie. Both Lizzie and Scott were in the end. Either one of them could have looked at an enderman but it was Lizzie, and due to her once again "faults" and not being careful, she falls to her death.

And Mumbo, both him and Grian were there, it could have been any one of them, but because of Mumbo's "faults", he ends his own life by accident.

Now you might be reading this and thinking "what is your argument"

I don't think Tango is a canary

Sure you can say his carelessness to watch his surroundings is what caused his death, but it was also just straight up bad luck.

The others felt targeted, this just felt like bad luck. Tango luck as I like to call it.

I don't know how to explain it clearly but I will try as best as I can.

While the others are also bad luck, it's also their own faults. Jimmy wasn't careful so that led to his deaths, Lizzie was also not careful and wanted to get what she had to do done quickly which led to her falling, and Mumbo was careless and just not careful, leading to the accident that caused his death.

And you can say it was also the fault of Tango, but also just really isn't. It could have happened to anyone and did! Later Scar gets blown up by a creeper too!  

While the others felt targeted, this just felt like poor gameplay/poor sense of his surroundings. 

I’m not explaining it the best way I possibly can cause I don’t know how to put in the best words that make sense to everyone else but me. People have explained it better than me but, basically I don’t think Tango is part of the Canary Curse.

Now you might be thinking, “if you think that, why did you put a canary feather.” Well you want honesty? Cause I didn’t know what else to put- It was late when I drew this and I ran out of ideas and slapped it on there. I still don’t add him in the canary curse, I drew that because I didn’t know what else to put. I didn’t want to put a white flower petal cause he already had one in his eye so I just put the feather. You can say it means something else, make your own head canons, but it doesn’t mean I believe he is a canary.

Though I did make my own curse for him. I call it The White Flower Curse. 

Basically in an old post I showed how I like unnecessary symbolism. And one of them is Tango with white flowers.

White Flowers in general are frequently considered unlucky plants. The common thread seems to be that they bring death.

I felt that it fit Tango perfectly. He is extremely unlucky we see this with almost every final death he has in the life series and this is no different. So I finally got to show it more here. So ya, I do have a new headcanon due to a tiktok I found so, once the season ends, and I do start drawing angst and stuff like that commonly, I will show it. 

As I have said, I watch these for fun. When there is a moment I feel I can make angsty and have motivation I will draw it, but I’m just watching this because I like seeing these guys play this game I like and having fun.

also, I forgot how fun it was to tune into a qsmp loredump and just lose your mind for like 20 minutes with thousands of people in like 6 languages losing their minds with you over a little bow and some red blurry imagery
