When the Brazilians arrived on that first day, I had never heard portuguese spoken aloud before, as I live in a country in the middle of the Pacific and I guess I'd just never come across it or possibly hadn't recognized it if I had.

So when I started watching Cellbit I knew absolutely nothing of what he was saying, my eyes glued to the translations.

But he kept repeating a word, I heard it all the time, he said it so often, with such clarity.

So I looked it up to find out what it meant.

It was "filho".

My first word in portuguese.
