#scar is the void

I don't like Scar as the Earth because a lot of the reasons why people think he should be is because of Grian as the sun and I think that takes away from Scar's character on his own. If Scar had won 3rd Life then yes ABSOLUTELY Scar would be the Earth, but I think because of all his character has gone through in the proceeding seasons, especially in Secret Life, him being the Void just makes sense.

The Void is cold, the Void is loneliness.

The lonely man, devoid of friends, lamenting about how after life there's nothing. It's empty.

Empty like his base, lacking company. Empty like his heart, having given up hope on finding the warmth of friends. Empty like the nothingness of the Void.

The Void welcomes others, of course. It's home to the planets and stars and moons, it welcomes the other celestial beings into its space, but in the end the planets have a solar system it belongs to. The stars have constellations they're grouped with. Moons have a planet to revolve around. The Void has nothing.

The Void has no one.

I finally read the neon void and I knew it was good but I didn’t realize it was THAT good. Holy cow @sugarpasteltmnt you are a fantastic writer. That being said this is based on the chapter “Mosaic.” I just really really like the Leo’s perspective, it’s so so good fhshdhjdjdjdhdnjf thank you for helping me out of my creative rut :D

I'm a sucker for this kind of character and I can't wait for more! I'd also really really love a follow up where Leo is dealing with the aftermath and reintegrating but I'll just have to wait and see ^^

The design changes a little bit and because this was done on and off over a few weeks, and the quality changes too. I really struggle with how I want the lineart and rendering to look so they're all different in styles. Not actually happy with most of these but I'm trying to make myself post more art. I like the sketches more but feel like I should post finished art cause I'm a perfectionist.

The Neon Void design is partially based off the art by @ / kaysdenofchaos at the end of chapter 2, as well as my own simplified interpretation and the mask shape is loosely inspired by The Black Rabbit of Inlé from the 1978 version of Watership Down (traumatic film tbh). I feel like we don’t really talk about David threatening to kill someone for Genya enough. I mean, yes, it’s recognized as one of his peak moments, but I mean beyond “Aw, that’s so sweet of him.”

This is David Kostyk. He’s an inventor. His whole thing is to make new things. To create. He helped fight the epitome of destruction, so what’s the point of causing more destruction by taking someone’s life? It’s not antithetical to his character, but it’s also not the first thing I would ordinarily expect from him.

But then… we do know that David is extraordinarily blunt. We know that Baghra didn’t want to teach him out of fear of what he could become. And his friends don’t even seem all that surprised when he delivered the threat (they were all fairly aggravated; I digress).

This man absolutely meant what he said, and I firmly believe that if Yuri had offended Genya one more time, they would have found the body in 78 different strategically chosen locations
