People talk about how much darker RttE would've been with a higher rating (specifically mentioning GoT) and then they're talking about our heroes and what they would've faced.

But no one mentions how both Savage as well as Ryker probably would've died in Midnight Scrum if the rating was higher. Especially Ryker, who provoked Toothless' rage by hurting Hiccup in front of him. That dragon did not want that man to breathe a second longer.

i think there is some degree of "lord english is gentrifying homestuck" in the post-scratch earth timeline just because english corrupts everything he touches but more broadly it's simply that as his influence over the story becomes stronger and stronger and paradox space comes closer and closer to its inevitable black hole death the comic's themes start to spiral back in on themselves in masturbatory self-parody. because lord english's influence is regression itself
