Idol Land Character Lore!!
So honestly I thought I should do a post on my Idol Land character Lore, you've all met my ocs (Berri, Ange Meadow, Lulu and Lemon) but don't really know much about my idol Land characters!
So here we go! (Please note that I like the concept that Pripara is a worldly connected 'place' with its own sectors, like Priparis, but it's a universal time, so it's always the same time in Pripara for everyone no matter where in the world)
Ryuu/Luxa: Ryuu is a 25 year old girl originally from United Pridom/Pritain (United Kingdom/Britain) who never got a Priticket as a child, but never stopped loving Idols and designs her own coords, she soon moved to Japan, and upon visiting the Prism Stone she was approached by Meganee who gave her an offer, in exchange for joining Pripara, she would act as "Manager, idol, guide and promoter", being given her avatar assigned to Holic Trick. Ryuu's join is to help new Idols similar to Meganee understand and sign up to Pripara, she also helps them find their mascot managers by acting as a temporary manager whilst being able to perform herself. Ryuu eventually meets her friends Madoka and Xochi, with the latter being someone that Ryuu helps enter Pripara, and thus becoming the unit FaiRy MiX. Ryuu also has a bit of a narcissistic god-complex due to the stress of her job, she believes that being the top/best idol means more promotion which means more Idols, and it can lead her to go a bit delusional.
Ryuu then forms a second Pripara form using a Kami Crystal, in the form of Luxa, Luxa is more hyper and cheerful, much different to Ryuu's natural form, and allows Ryuu to escape her normal tasks for a while- Its only known to a few that she is Luxa.
Lune: Lune, Aka Jiun, is a 9-year-old girl originally from South Priorea (South Korea) who moved to Japan with her Korean mother after the remarriage to her Japanese stepfather, and live with her mother, stepfather and her idol-despising stepbrother Haru. One day Jiun found a Pritcket that was blown in her face, and upon trying to return it to Prism Stone, she was mistaken for a new idol and was forced into Pripara with the random persons Priticket becoming Lune, unaware of how to tell people she wasn't the original idol, she kept up the charade of being Lune, until the original idol, whom had created Lune's design had found her.
Miri: Miri is a 14 year old girl from Priparis, and a slight friend of Hibiki, Falulu and Fuwari, she moved to her birthday home of Pripan (Japan) with her younger sister Sara, Miri joined Pripara when she was still in Priparis being a popular idol over there. Miri is a friendly person who befriends everyone, however she starts to notice that Idols aren't able to leave and think they have lived in Pripara, and the outside isn't real, with their memories being altered...she soon learns that this is due to a forgotten goddess who is very lonely, leaving Miri to make a choice when her little sister is the next target.
Sara: Sara is a 12 year old Transgirl who originated from Priparis with her older sister Miri, always feeling she was in the wrong body since she was young, Sara decided to become a girl, being obsessed with the female Idols, one day she was given a Priticket and was able to join Pripara along side her older sister, of whom she is the biggest fan of. Sara rarely leaves Miri's side in Pripara and the two often do all their lives together, however Miri wants Sara to make her own friends and own unit without her. Little did Sara know that she was the next target of a very lonely goddess creating havoc in Pripara.
Raia: Raia is a young girl with the appearance of a 14 year old, but actual she's a Mascot managers in the form of a dark green rabit, she has no memory of who she is, and all she could find was her name as "Raia". Raia has loved Idols for as long as possible, and has always wanted to be one, until one day she woke up and realised she had been given a human body and could finally perform. Being that she is from the Pripara system, she is of course unable to leave, she uses this as her advantage to try and find out more of why she cannot remember her past...this leads her to find out a big discovery!

I just started listening to this after finishing Mariann Budde's How We Learn to Be Brave.
I highly recommend reading or listening to depending on your preferences given. I process information better when I listen due to my cerebral palsy. I suspect I will need to listen to books like this as a self care strategy to protect and preserve my mental health these next four years. .

As the descendant of slaves and the son of a civil rights activist, Bishop Michael Curry's life illustrates massive changes in our times. Much of the world met Bishop Curry when he delivered his sermon on the redemptive power of love at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle. Here, he expands on his message of hope in an inspirational road map for living the way of love, illuminated with moving lessons from his own life. Through the prism of his faith, ancestry, and personal journey, Love Is the Way shows us how America came this far and, more important, how to go a whole lot further.
Love Is way of love is essential for addressing the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing the world today: poverty, racism, selfishness, deep ideological divisions, competing claims to speak for God. This book will lead readers to discover the gifts they need in order to live the way of love: deep reservoirs of hope and resilience, simple wisdom, the discipline of nonviolence, and unshakable regard for human dignity.

A Game Novice's Baldur's Gate Log, Finis
Masterpost
I finished my first ever Baldur's Gate 3 playthrough very late Wednesday night. Hells, by the time I gave up watching all of the credits because I had to go in to work the next day, it was Thursday morning. So this will be my final entry in this written chronicle, though I'll probably also write at least one more fic. Also, if the new update allows to me to take better photos, I might go back to the various points I've saved and take some to add to these entries.
It certainly hasn't been the last time I will play this game. I've been thinking of what I'm going to do with further runs already. Early in the week, I even contemplated going up to the Balanced level next time. Though the final fight might have put me off that for now.
At the start of the week, I knew about most of the major events of the endgame, but less about how and when they would come about. I was even wondering about a couple of the things I'd read about how you can turn on the Emperor and suddenly not believe him anymore. That didn't seem to quite make sense-until I read the book by the boat to the morphic pool and saw Gortash's interview in which he claimed to be back under the elder brain's influence. Obviously he could be thought to just be saying that, but it was certainly enough to make Sara wonder about everything as they sailed.
Tumblr media
I felt a little aimless at first, wandering around the morphic pool. I also failed to realize that this was also when you were supposed to get that possible last kiss, only learning this after we'd left this area. I later went back to where I'd saved and watched Sara and Gale have that moment, but it wasn't the same.
Then, after fighting way too many intellect devourers, we finally reached the Netherbrain. Sara ended up taking a Potion of Hill Giant Strength and actually made the first check against it, but then failed the second, even before hitting the impossible third, for which she did not roll the needed natural 20. Then came the reveal I actually hadn't known about or seen coming, that we'd been playing into the brain's hands all this time. Even after the Emperor hastily pulled everyone into the prism, I now understood why Tav might call him a liar.
Despite everything, Sara actually still didn't want to. When he said he hadn't realized they'd been playing into the brain's hands, she wanted to believe this creature who'd lived in her head and guided her and saved her and others more than once. But ultimately, it still didn't matter, because even before those moments in the third act that damaged her loyalty to him, it was never going to match her loyalty to Lae'zel. She outright ignored his accusation of her not trusting him, simply saying she was going to free Orpheus and that was going to be that.
And when he promptly declared he suddenly had to join the Netherbrain, well, that really did just sound like an excuse. Sara very much spent the rest of the final events telling herself that actually, he had been under its influence all along. I don't think her certainty stuck afterwards, and I fear she'll spend the rest of her life wondering about the truth, to the point it'll make the related trauma harder to process. But at least it helped keep her mind clearer during the fighting.
It also was the main reason she didn't regret her choice immediately, once she got the size of Orpheus, and endured his ranting about how many lives they would've saved if she'd just let his honor guard murder her. She was forced to face the reality of him, and that even if he cared about his people more than Vlaakith did, he wouldn't make them any less militaristic or less racist, or things any better for their youths like Lae'zel.
Which made the next choice, when he also noted they needed a mind flayer on their side, a way easier one. Become a mind flayer herself, a fate she still saw as not much better than death? Or just let this asshole who could do with having his worldview expanded do it, and accept that the consequences would be whatever they had to be to the Githyanki people? Yeah, she was always going to be selfish on that one.
I was a little worried when we then landed in front of the High Hall, and Kith'rak Voss showed up to find out what we'd done with his prince. But thankfully he was still willing to take his commands in the moment, and Sara proceeded to meet with the allies she had made. Having to make a short speech to them was one of the most awkward things she'd ever done, though. (I might have spent a couple of minutes trying to figure out which dialog choice made me wince least.) And that comment from Florrick about hoping for Balduran's grace...well, that didn't offer as much inspiration as she no doubt thought it did.
I potioned everyone up when we reached the guards running from a mind flayer, giving Gale and Halsin the physic resistance elixirs, Shadowheart an extra spell slot, and Sara a potion of Heroism. I might have given her the Elixir of Bloodlust I also had handy, though, if I'd realized we were about to enter a fight with a *lot* of opponents.
It was a fight I was really grateful for, though. It served the important functions of giving the player a chance to get used to fighting with a mind flayer, who has *very* different mechanics from the other characters, and also to try to figure out action economy of calling on allies. I actually only figured that out late in the fight, but I did bring Dame Aylin in, who was particularly useful for being able to fly over to those opponents on the balustrade that were harder to get at on foot. And the game was even nice enough to have a recharging pod right by the gate. Of course it then closed during the fight, but I was able to misty-step Gale out and then back in to use it. (Except I didn't take Orpheus out of displacer beast form first, and had to figure out how to then give him enough healing potions to get back to full.)
When we reached the High Hall, I first tried going right, found what appeared to be a dead end, and when the nautiloid ship started damaging everyone something awful I reloaded. Going left, I then thought I'd found another dead end, but ultimately found where I could jump up to the next level, and to the brain stem. Although it wasn't until my third attempt at the Netherbrain fight I that I would spot the recharge pod by it!
I reloaded out of my first fight against the Emperor and his companions after making too many stupid mistakes, and also realizing I'd gotten confused about what I was even supposed to do. I had that down by the second, but was still struggling, and after Orpheus went down, I just exited without saving, and then went to look up advice, reading about using teleportation and putting protection on the mind flayer who needed two turns to open the portal to the second half of the fight.
I did better for much of the third attempt. It even included Sara killing the Emperor, which certainly would've been very satisfying. But the start of it saw Orpheus getting stunned, and while I actually had Halsin use a scroll to Dimension Door him to the Crown, he seemed to not be getting any turns for too long, until suddenly he no longer had the time to open the portal before the nautiloid ship showed up. I now wonder if maybe I should've still tried to fight through that one, but instead I reloaded.
The fourth attempt started with my summoning Zevlor and his riders, and placing them where they were immediately terribly injured before they even did anything. I reloaded out of that one immediately. As I clicked on the brain stem for the fifth time, and had the moment where the narrator points out the possibility of Gale just going up alone and blowing himself up, I understood why so many players might have him do that. It would've been so easy. But of course, there is absolutely no way in the Hells Sara Tully would ever have let him do that.
That last time, Shadowheart rolling high on initiative meant she could Sanctuary Orpheus immediately, and he flew straight to the Crown and ended up just standing there for two turns, as I struggled to get the party to him. I also summoned the Gur early on, but they got killed pretty quickly. Finally, with two turns to go, he had to start, even as Sara went down, and Halsin got stunned, and when he and Shadowheart were both on the wrong side of the battlefield.
So things maybe felt a little desperate as I had Gale take the one potion of speed, simply so I could have him call on Isobel to bestow some healing on everyone and also try to take out at least a couple of the alchemists throwing magic missiles on everyone and trying to stun Orpheus. I don't think he succeeded much, but Orpheus successfully resisted the mind blasts, got the portal open, and Gale and Sara got through it on their next turns.
I had also found it crazily hard to get Halsin and Shadowheart to each other so I could use the dimension door scroll, with the opportunity attacks hitting continually stopping them. Even when she had a clear path to him, she had to use a jump bonus action to close the distance. Plus I had a moment of panic when I thought the portal had closed before realizing I was looking at the wrong end of the battlefield, as the view controls had gotten all weird. But in the end I found the portal and clicked on it, and they teleported there and got through.
That first half of the Netherbrain fight was hands down the hardest part. The second half, the assault of the brain itself, ended up being way easier, at least once I figured out which spells could hit it, and do the most damage. It helped that Gale's fireballs were very good for this, and he was still hastened. It might have gone very badly perhaps, had that potion worn off just before the platform he was on got marked for demolition. But in the end, just before it would have, the Netherbrain was suddenly down to under twenty hit points, and he had an action left. The final blow of that fight was that Ray of Frost cantrip that may be one of the most useful spells he's had this entire game.
In contrast to the third attempt, we hadn't killed most of the opponents we'd left just outside the portal. But once Orpheus forced the Netherbrain to self-destruct, it didn't matter, because we didn't have to deal with them afterwards either. Instead I watched a cut scene of the Emperor meeting his end at the hands of an ordinary citizen of the city he'd founded and betrayed, who need never have any idea of who he'd once been. Even Sara knows better than to tell anyone about that.
Down at the docks, when everyone gathered, she must have felt mighty tempted to urge Lae'zel to stay in Fae'run. But she left that decision up to her. And when Lae'zel chose to go off to war, she comforted herself with that the thought that if she becomes one of her people's leaders, she might actually make them at least a little better than they've been, with her having seen some worth, at least, in other peoples, and other ways. She really didn't want to kill Orpheus, and I left that to the persuasion roll, with Spaw's necklace and a guidance, but was still surprised when I actually rolled high enough to get him to accept he was going to keep on living, at last for the time being.
I'd still been a little anxious about Gale, but directions I'd followed so much earlier in the act paid off, as he declared he'd give the Crown back to Mystra. I got even more anxious as Karlach collapsed, and her death scene went on and on, and I wondered if maybe Sara hadn't pushed hard enough towards a return to Avernus, and Wyll wouldn't make his offer as a result. But then he did, and Sara urged Karlach to go with him, and she agreed to. I quite enjoyed watching the original ending of the game, which her and Wyll's arrival in Avernus, even when the combination of lag and the scene being bugged kind of wrecked it something awful!
There was also talk about Sara's fame, about her being the hero of the city. And back when I decided her last name was in fact her wife's originally, after initially creating her as an ancestor to my Spelljammer character with the same last name, I thus persumed her fame would spread wide enough at least one of her brothers would start using that name. Obviously, Lyria Tully will be descended from him.
But any chance of her seeing herself as a hero of the Gate ended when she learned just who it was she was going to betray. She could've come out this entire adventure in much worse shape than she did, but she's still got things to cope with. Including, for the second time in her life, her feeling like she simply cannot live any longer in the place she has so long called home.
There's one huge thing different this time, though. When this happened in Sara's backstory, she was scattered away from her family and friends and lover, and had nowhere to go. This time, she's gained new friends, a family of sorts, and, of course, a new spouse, with a new home to take her to, and a new life in which she can start to heal, and find happiness.
I think she was already doing better by the time she and Gale attended Withers' party in the epilogue. Though she had to tell people, when they asked her about her adventures from the last six months, that she'd spent them quietly. When she gave Halsin some stories to tell to his children, I imagine they were more funny ones about navigating Waterdeep and also the life of a high-ranked academic's spouse. (Definitely not something she's used to!)
Withers might have made a speech of when she might next be needed, and she would probably sigh and step up one again, if she really had to. But she's going to hope that's not necessary, at least not for another decade or so. Sara Dekarios, as she is now, is going to take things easy for a while, if she can.
And as for me, I'm thinking of doing a Gale origin run next. And hey, maybe one of these days, I'll get a computer that can actually run this game properly, and then I will almost certainly play around with mods. I've got alternative choices to explore, missed corners to go to, and I do want to have Minthara as a companion at least once. But I think I might also dust off that Elder Scrolls game, and maybe even play some others. I think I'd enjoy them, too. When it comes to gaming, I might be just getting started.

Neon: Ikunyan! Prism Sword! *throws eight swords into the sky before it fell down around the Jyamato, forming a circle, as the eighth white sword hit the Jyamato’s head and a huge beam of light incinerated it* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0QMRA0LFO4
Michinaga: Oi, oi, oi, what was that?
Keiwa: *gulp*
Neon: Considering fantasy… I thought to myself, why don’t I look to video games for attack inspirations.
Keiwa: Nee-chan put you up to this, didn’t she.
Neon: She did…
Keiwa: Please tell me you haven’t started on Indignation or Judgment.
Neon: I tried, but I can’t.
Keiwa: Make sense… it is a spell invoking the divine…
Michinaga: divine… so theoretically, Geats…
Keiwa: Yeah, he could probably cast it on his own.
Tsumuri: Sara-sama has suggested that we try casting it together, dividing the incantation into three parts.
Neon: Would that work?
Keiwa: Why not, I think it’s the same as wishing with him.
Michinaga: It’d be good to have something up our sleeves if another threat comes.
*the three discuss and memorize their lines for the incantation*
Neon: Go into Musuo and Bujin
-Fever – Set;Hit Zombie-
-Set Avenge-
Neon: Okay let’s start.
Neon: We stand bathed in the light of the heavens.
Michinaga: Cower before the gates of hell
Keiwa: Come forth Divine Lightning.
Keiwa, Neon, Michinaga: THIS ENDS NOW! INDIGNATION! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyPPsAfqkiA
Keiwa: That was…
Michinaga: The damage around the area…
Neon: No wonder I can’t cast it when I tried it on my own.
Keiwa: Remind me not to get on your bad side, Neon-chan.
Neon: So long as you don’t do what you did? You’re fine.
Keiwa: *gulps*
"Na-gi"? Don't you mean "Naa-go?"
I suppose it makes sense for them to look to pop media for attack inspirations if their powers permit it... although, to be honest, I'm quite sure they don't need that to come up with creative ways to defeat MotWs (or idiotic Riders, for that matter). Between Riders being in sticky situations that usually call for unorthodox thinking and Riders just leaning more on the "possibly not quite sane" side of the spectrum, they're bound to think up some weird shit.
I mean, look at the stuff Touma did- I'm pretty sure no video game ever thought about a buff wrestler Tinker Bell being set on fire by a dragon and clotheslining the opponent before exploding into hedgehog spikes. (And no book would've given him that idea, either!)
Keiwa being scared of Neon though XD

Hirogaru Sky! Precure Episode 35 Review - Why The Sudden Baseball?
Are Japanese people aware of the cliche surrounding baseball/softball and lesbians (A common cliche in the western world)? If they are, the writers knew what they were doing when writing a baseball-themed episode for this show. I got a lot of yuri vibes out of this and it’s not just from Sora herself.
Tumblr media
I think the best part about this episode is that viewers finally get another update to Sora’s school life after Episode 17. She’s back to wearing the non-summer uniforms and she apparently is a super popular potential recruit for sports activities as a lot of female sports club members are seeking to recruit her. While she’s not too interested in joining a sports club despite liking sports, she decides to help out the girls’ baseball club as a special coach as their ace member Tamaki has to sit out for their upcoming big tournament due to an elbow injury.
While this is a Sora-focused episode, this is not one where she gets development. Rather, she’s the one giving development to her schoolmates. She’s the one encouraging them to become stronger even if one member is unable to fight. In turn, she also gives Tamaki encouragement about how she’s not fighting alone and for her to never think such things.
I loved how her development comes in full circle here. At episode 5, Sora was hesitant to let Mashiro fight alongside her as a Precure, but Prism encouraged her that she’s not alone. Episode 33 has it Sky give encouragement to Prism as a return of what she did for her when the latter was in doubts over letting Ellee fight as Cure Majesty. In this episode, Sora gives that same encouragement to Tamaki as she thinks about Prism that day. Man, I love how mature Sora has become since then. She’s seriously growing one step closer to become the hero she wants to be.
Despite being characters of the day, I really like the focus Tamaki and Kaname got; while the former has more focus, it’s evident that these two care about each other so much because they both love the sport (and possibly each other). What I like is that Tamaki’s injury is treatable and healable and everyone’s actually encouraging her to get the surgery and rest. Usually, in sports anime, injuries are a huge deal and it makes it as if they cannot play ever again. Precure’s not having any of that, fortunately. Also, I love the fact that Kaname is voiced by Yuka Nishigaki, who’s the wife of Tsubasa Yonaga who voiced Mihashi from Ookiku Furikabutte (Big Windup); not only that, I really like her voice too. Tamaki’s voice actress Sara Matsumoto was cute too! Also, Tamaki has the honor of being the one of the few people who has seen Sora transform right in front of her.
Also, I noticed that the opening hasn’t updated to change Minoton to Skearhead. Given that Skearhead is supposed to be very powerful and dangerous, he’s acting just like past villains with his tendency to pop up, summon a Ranborg and then yeet out when its purified. However, I feel a more calculative approach when it comes to Skearhead. Is he going to do something drastic in future episodes or will he be doomed to being the recurring villain trope?
Anyways, this episode was simple and straightforward; I don’t think there is anything more to talk about for this episode, so I’ll end it here. What are your thoughts about this episode?
