the scorpio urge to over-consume every new thing you love (music: looping the same few songs for weeks on end, food: only eating a specific food all the time OR frequently eating a new craving as your little treat, etc) until you absolutely despise it and cannot stand it anymore <3

Did you know that no story is completely the same any time you read, watch, or play it again? For example, you could have a new perception of the main character, which differs from the idealized version of them that you had the first time. you may choose to empathize less with their actions and feelings, and instead focus your attention on the side characters that you barely perceived the first time. or maybe you notice that the "good" protagonist character is suddenly not as noble as you thought, you were just influenced by the perspective the story is told from. maybe something in your life has happened or changed, and you see some of it reflected in a character that you previously didn't care for. a good example is when you like the villain a lot more as you get older, because you don't believe in pure good and evil anymore.
this is true for other aspects as well, like motives, conversations, metaphors that you previously didn't understand or interpreted differently. I'm sure that's something you were aware of, I just find it really cool to know that because you as a person are subject to change and constantly influenced and adapting, it can have a significant impact on the way you react to a story you have previously read and didn't really get, for example. it could also have the complete opposite effect and you suddenly hate it.
at a certain point in my life i developed this habit of wanting to read or see something a second time, and compare my reactions. sometimes, it not only tells you something new about the story that you missed previously, but it also tells you about yourself, and I think that's part of why I find it so addicting to experience the same story over and over again. Your mind just makes up new connections every time, so it's not necessarily redundant or boring to read/watch something again!
and basically, I'm just repeating what reader-response theory and cognitive literature studies have focused on these last years. it's quite interesting!

To be completely fair to you, many varieties of English don't really distinguish between þ and ð. Everyone will understand you perfectly no matter which you use, and exactly which word is voiced and which is unvoiced will vary from dialect to dialect. In fact, some dialects such as Irish don't use eðier sound!
ðis ask brought to you by many hours of watching jan Misali and other English youtubers interested in linguistics.
Ahahaha, awww, thanks friend. Linguistics IS hella cool.

Odysseus: Penelope I am not the same person you fell in love with, I have done terrible things to get home. I understand if you can’t accept the monstrous things I have done-
Penelope: cool, could you please move this wedding bed
Odysseus: what, no!
Penelope: that’s my husband
Odysseus: Penelope I have killed so many
Penelope: I don’t give a shit
Odysseus: I sacrificed my crew-
Penelope: And I would’ve done the same
Odysseus: I am covered in the blood of the suitors
Penelope: and you look fantastic
Odysseus: I TORTURED A GOD ON HIS OWN WEAPON
Penelope: and that was incredibly sexy of you

Odysseus crew: *watching him from the afterlife*
Elpenor: Look, he's hunting down the suitors! He's gonna kill them all!
Eurylochus: Maybe you were right, Polites. Violence has only lead to more violence. Perhaps the Captain would be better off showing mercy before he goes too far.
Polites: Are you fucking kidding me?! You heard what they were planning to do to Penelope and their son!! He should butcher every one of them!!!

does anyone have like an anti aesthetic. like something you look at and can recognize as a complete fashion/interior design/artistic movement and understand it but it makes you shudder seeing it. i am not talking like “its morally bad” “its poorly structured” like just sheerly devoid of joy for you actually invites a repulse response.

A week or two after Ithaca saga
Odysseus: (eating lunch with his wife and son) -get it?! I responded to his rhetorical question with a literal answer-
Penelope: (nodding along, unfazed)
Telemachus: ….(nervously sips drink) (chokes and spits it out)
Odysseus: My boy, are you alright?
Telemachus: Yeah- uh, just, what kind of wine is this?
Penelope: (tastes her cup, hums) interesting. It doesn’t look like wine, either…
Odysseus: (frowns and smells it) ….what is this..?
Telemachus: (looks into ‘wine’ pitcher) ….father?
Meanwhile, up in Olympus:
Ares: (giggling) he’s finally trying it-

"What were you doing at Wayne Enterprises?" A gruff voiced asked from behind him.
Danny cringed. Of course, Batman would catch him off guard. He turned away from the guy he had just saved from the poisoning, feeling confident that the antidote was doing it's job, "I was just exploring. I wanted to know what a corporate place looked like when I saw that guy put something in Mr. Drakes-"
"Tim." Tim interrupted.
"Mr. Drakes," he said more firmly, ignoring the teen co-CEOs pout, "drink. He was lucky I knew what it was and how to cure it."
"How did you know?" The dak knight pressed.
"Because," Danny gritted his teeth, "That wasn't created to be a poison, it was created to be a fuel source by my parents and they created an antidote the moment they realized it was toxic and a safety hazard." Danny took a step towards the Gotham vigilante, not an ounce of fear in his eyes, "That man is Slade. He murdered my parents and stole some of my thier work. I'm going to kill him and I won't let you stop me." And with that, Phantom vanished.
Bruce tensed, anticipating an attack, but after a few minutes where nothing happened, he turned to leave. He pressed a finger to his ear, "Spoiler, Red Robin, since you two know the most about Phantom I'll be expecting a full report."
Tim did his best to hold back a groan, cause now he had to tell his Dad all about how he's been flirting with a supernatural entity when in the mask. Awkward.
