hitch is jean in a different font
i might have a new WIP or two cooking, and one of them has me vibrating and combing over canon to make this argument: hitch as jean's shadow, their parallel journeys, her growth only a few months behind his. marlowe as a kind of marco, stohess as her trost.
for me it's all toward a reijean / hitchannie agenda but pray any hitch and jean stans appreciate:
Tumblr media
we meet hitch as an almost-jean: well-aware of what the military police actually is. pragmatic. in the anime's expansion of stohess, jean looks at the MPs scrambling and thinks, "i could've actually been one of them too, huh? just how did i end up here instead?"
the scene of marlowe and hitch cleaning up stohess is another anime addition, in the s2 premiere. marlowe is bewildered that titans were in sina to begin with, but hitch's focus is more mundane: "the worst thing about it all is that so many people died for no good reason." the hulu subtitles are more like "there's no official reason all these people died." levi echoes the sentiment in 59 when he bluntly tells them annie was the female titan: "no one knows a damn thing."
Tumblr media
levi trusts jean to feel them out for a reason, and i think hitch impressed him way more than marlowe. he respects her disgust for loss of life, and her balls to blame the survey corps for it. she's actually a mini nile dawk there, to me, when nile realizes what erwin is up to in stohess, and it makes me think that jean's pragmatism is a necessary injection of the MPs' better traits into the suicidal SC. that it's in the same chapter as jean and armin recovering from their run-in with the interior squad is telling.
Tumblr media
in the 125 hitch/annie date, annie is looking up at the colossals, and hitch literally grounds her. annie is struck by their height, maybe she thinks of bertolt, maybe she's thinking of her mission to prevent this from happening, but hitch doesn't give a shit about the titans themselves, only what they leave in their wake. it feels similar to jean telling eren about marco's death in 22. marco instilled in jean that a leader is honest about what they ask people to die for; hitch is disgusted by the senselessness of the death her whole career has been about cleaning up.
Tumblr media
i think it's easy to look at hitch yawning among the jaegerists in 139 as a bit of her cockroach quality—keeping her head down and saluting along for her survival among fascists, like shadis advises the recruits who beat him (also in 125). but we have seen her demonstrate such kindness, and mourn. practically, she must be pissed that the junta she and marlowe risked themselves to install has been totally upended; she stands by her actions in the uprising arc, look at how she and armin witness zackly's assassination. but beyond that, she hates death more than anything. she could reason that marlowe's death was toward something tangible, the truth of their world, but that it snowballed into the death of most of the world? the rumbling is probably a national holiday to those freaks. it's ghoulish to her.
for my ship agenda (even if you're into these relationships only platonically):
hitch talking to annie's crystal feels like jean saving reiner in shiganshina. everyone else was ready to discard or forget about these traitors, but hitch, jean, and armin all cling to the softness they couldn't reconcile with annie and reiner's titan forms. with what he thought were his dying breaths, reiner delivered ymir's letter. on her day off, in Wall Sina, Goodbye, annie kept her word, and tried to reunite a father and daughter. hitch might have negged her for it, seen it as busy work, but it's the same kindness she bullied marlowe for, if carefully buried under annie's insistence that it was just the quid pro quo between them.
idc that armin talked to her, too, or he knew her longer. hitch fuckin mourned her!! and i think being angry with annie, questioning her for four years, is way, way more humanizing than armin basically monologuing at her while feeling sorry for himself and bertolt and titan shifters generally. (this sounds like i hate armin but swear i love him; i just think aruani is most interesting when bertolt is involved.)
hitch accurately clocks that annie seemed afraid of getting close to people. her own fellow cadets just thought of her as distant, bored; when hange asks the scouts in the 104th about RBA's interactions as cadets, they're at a loss, even armin. even her fellow warriors didn't really see her. annie's distance was a kindness, and her own armor. she sees reibert's deep cover as a waste of time, but i think she also sees they're bound to hurt themselves and their mission in the long run. even though everyone felt betrayed after stohess, reiner was a greater shock, a deeper wound. i think annie wanted to minimize hurt on all fronts. (look how she dips out of the alliance, it's because she's tired, and doesn't want to kill eren, or anyone.)
jean comes to understand reiner only after he and connie and armin have to kill their 104th classmates at the pier. hitch can't fully fathom annie's circumstances or pain, especially not annie saying she'd do it all again, but hitch listens to it all and thanks her for the vulnerability, for softening, which is more compassion than most of the paradis side of the alliance has managed so far. she has a head start on the emotional strides jean makes in between 127 and 133, maybe because she got a bit of catharsis beating her fists against annie's crystal for four years.

Synopsis: After a dreadful meeting in the inner wall, Levi, Hange, and Miche decided to play truth or dare. What could go wrong?
Pairing: Erwin Smith/Reader
Tags: Shameless Smut, Making Out, Office Sex, Desk Sex, Accidental Voyeurism, Swearing, Reader is the Commander of MP, Nile Dok doesn't exist, hehe
a/n: Here's a oneshot that has been sitting in my drafts for months (。•́‿•̀。). Hope you enjoy!!
Tumblr media
Levi let out a sigh. They are on their way to Wall Sina for yet another meeting with the other regiments. He dreads this day, they are always interrogated and Erwin always needs to give a very long speech on why should they give the scouts more funds.
“Ah, finally. We’re here!!” Hange exclaimed.
Erwin got out of the carriage after Hange, then came after them are Levi and Miche. The place that they’re staying for the next three nights is shitty, as everything in the military is. The rooms are small, only having a single-sized bed, a small ass nightstand, and a window.
After getting settled, Erwin instructed them to rest for the night and to wake up early tomorrow for the meeting. Eurgh.

They all left early and headed to the military police headquarters, the meeting will be held there for they have quite a big place. The commanders of the other two regiments, garrison and military, are already seated. Erwin gave both a nod of greeting before sitting down next to Dot Pixis.
Not long after, Premier Zackly entered the room. They all stood up and saluted, then the meeting started. It was a pain to be there, the commander of the military police, (Y/N) (L/N), kept on dismissing and counter-attacking Erwin. Levi really hates her guts. Erwin though, didn’t budge, he always has a reply to whatever the female commander has to say. It’s almost like the two were the only people in the room. It was annoying, really. ‘Ain’t nobody really gonna stop that bi-’
“The meeting’s dismissed. The Scout’s request to have their funds raised is denied. Commander (L/N)’s statements were more reasonable than what you have to say, Commander Smith. Unless fewer soldiers die on your next expedition, then maybe by then we can raise the funds for those living humans.” Zackly said then took his leave. Levi’s frown only deepen, tch.

After that shitty meeting which was more of the MP’s dissing the scouts, Erwin, Levi, Hange and Miche headed to their building. They were granted the empty rooms of the military police quarters to save time and energy. Instead of travelling back to that shitty hotel-like place, they were tasked to just stay there.
After resting for quite a bit, Hange suggested that they should celebrate for the meeting has ended. Although their request was denied, Erwin granted them permission to leave. After all, it’s not everyday that they get to eat out and drink inside the capital. Erwin stayed in his room though, saying that he still has papers to work on.

Levi, Hange and Miche were very drunk when they go back. They decided to play truth or dare in Hange’s room. It was Levi’s turn and he didn’t know what’s gotten into him that he chose dare.
“I dare you go to (L/N)’s quarters and steal her underwear.” Hange said. She’s very drunk and Levi could tell just by looking at her and listening to her speak.
“I’m not doing that.”
“Oh, come on! It’s a dare, you can’t say no.”
“Maybe Levi could just get there and steal something else, Hange.” Miche finally said.
Hange groaned, “Fine. Steal one of her jackets, or something like that. Steal a garment that she owns and then get back here wearing it!”
Levi thought it wasn’t so hard, so he agreed and then headed straight to the commander’s quarters. It didn’t take long for him to find it and surprisingly, the door is unlocked. He immediately entered the room. It was an office. What? He searched for something inside and his searching led him to a door, ‘there it is!’ Levi was amused, her room is inside her damned office.
Inside the room was a closet, it was big. He opened it and saw various garments. There are jackets, shirts, and many more. He decided to look for a coat that wouldn’t look like he stole it when he wore it. He can’t find anything. He exited the room and decided to check on the smaller closet outside. Inside the closet were coats, ‘finally.’
Levi decided to try some on before leaving, to make sure he doesn’t look like an idiot upon exiting. He was busy trying coats on when the door suddenly opened. Levi panicked, he immediately hid in the closet. Luckily, he was small enough for the closet to accommodate.
He peeked from the closet’s horizontal holes and he was shocked to see who entered- no, he was more surprised to see what the persons who entered were doing. Erwin and (Y/N) are making out while walking their way to the desk. Levi thought his eyes and mind are just playing with him because of the alcohol so he rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times before peeking again. He wasn’t mistaken, they’re really kissing.
(Y/N) is seated on her desk while Erwin peppered her neck in kisses.
“Eager, aren’t you?” Levi heard (Y/N) said.
Erwin hummed, “You’ve been denying me of everything since earlier, dear, how could I NOT be eager?”
(Y/N) just giggled before bringing Erwin’s lips on her own again. Both kissed each other passionately whilst their hands explore each other’s body. Levi watched as (Y/N) took off Erwin’s shirt and Erwin, once again, started to trail kisses down (Y/N)’s neck. The woman let out a sigh when Erwin sucked on a particular part of her neck.
Erwin slowly started to unbutton (Y/N)’s blouse and after successfully stripping her, he threw the garment away and made his way to her chest. Erwin kissed (Y/N)’s newly exposed skin but he must’ve thought it wasn’t enough as his hands started to make their way to the clip of (Y/N)’s bra. He unclipped it without any difficulties.
He started sucking on (Y/N)’s right nipple, causing her to gasp and throw her head back. Erwin’s left hand made their way to (Y/N)’s other boob, squeezing it a couple of times before pinching her hardened nipple. Levi heard (Y/N) whimper and watched as she grabbed Erwin’s hair. He can’t believe what he is currently witnessing. Those two show great carnal hunger towards each other like they weren’t fighting just hours earlier.
No matter how hard Levi’s mind told him to look away, his eyes won’t cooperate. He continued watching as Erwin’s kisses go lower. He watched as Erwin trailed kisses down (Y/N)’s stomach. He watched as Erwin’s hands unbuttoned (Y/N)’s pants. And he watched as Erwin slowly pulled (Y/N)’s remaining garments. ‘Shit.’
Erwin kneeled down as he stared straight into (Y/N)’s lidded eyes.
“Spread your legs for me, will you?” Erwin asked, his voice husky.
(Y/N) complied, giving Erwin a proper view. Erwin held her left leg and trailed kisses up to her thigh then peppered both her thighs in delicate kisses. (Y/N)’s anticipation for what Erwin is about to do next is building rapidly. It made her bit her lip, made her struggle not to roll her eyes, and made her eyebrows furrow. Levi watched as Erwin started licking closer and closer, until finally, he gave (Y/N) a long, slicked lick. (Y/N) let out a very audible gasp and spread her legs even farther.
She placed her right leg on Erwin’s back and pushed him closer to her. “Erwin, please.” She whimpered.
Erwin hummed as a reply and thoroughly, he ate her. He started out slow, giving (Y/N)’s clit a couple of kitten licks before applying more pressure, picking a fast pace and sucking on her every now and then. Levi saw (Y/N) panting and watched as she threw her head back. Levi heard (Y/N) moan out Erwin’s name as Erwin inserted one finger in her. “Fuck, Erwin…”
(Y/N) grabbed Erwin’s hair and pulled him closer. Her toes are curled and she’s overwhelmed with pleasure. Her moans are unguarded, getting louder and louder as Erwin entered a second finger. He curled his finger inside her and rubbed deliciously on that spongey spot.
(Y/N) sounded urgent as she repeatedly chanted Erwin’s name. “Erwin, Erwin- Oh, fuck, yes!”
Moans and whimpers filled both Erwin and Levi’s ears as (Y/N) finally reached her high. Levi listened as (Y/N) grunted a couple of ‘shits’ before he saw Erwin stood up from the floor and licked his mouth. He watched as Erwin took his index and middle finger to his mouth and sucked the remnants of (Y/N)’s orgasm out of them. He also brought his thumb up to wipe the corner of his lips before caressing (Y/N)’s lower lip with the same finger. (Y/N) looked straight into Erwin’s eyes before she enveloped Erwin’s thumb in her mouth. Erwin pressed his finger against her tongue and he felt as (Y/N) swirled them around his thumb and felt as the inside of her mouth clenched around his finger. After that, Erwin slowly pulled his thumb out of (Y/N)’s mouth and started to undo his belt.
Levi, who is getting a bit too sweaty inside the closet, watched as Erwin’s pants, alongside his undergarments, fall to the ground. The angle of the closet that Levi is in gave him a side-view of the two commanders. Through the dim lighting of the room, Levi could vaguely see Erwin’s naked body. Although vague, it’s enough for him to see its silhouette. Levi swallowed, it has always been a common joke inside their Quarters that Erwin is hung but damn did he not thought they’re true.
Levi watched as Erwin positioned himself between (Y/N)’s legs, “Erwin, please.” He heard her plead, she sounded so desperate. More desperate than she was earlier, ‘Fuck it, Erwin, just give it to her!’ He thought.
Erwin stroked himself a few times while simultaneously teasing (Y/N)’s entrance. Levi swore, the long wait is drying him off of his patience and the tightening of his pants certainly isn’t helping. He rubbed himself through his pants a bit as he watched Erwin continuously tease (Y/N). 'Fuck it.'
Erwin slowly entered, earning himself a very desperate moan from (Y/N). Levi can’t help it, he pulled his cock out and slowly caressed himself. He watched them purposefully as he timed his strokes with Erwin’s thrusts. He can’t believe he’s touching himself with the view of his good friend, Erwin and that spiteful (Y/N) (L/N). Something about the weakness that she’s showing, the fragileness, the desperation. It made Levi mad, he likes what he sees, he wants to have a fill of (Y/N)’s weakness, feel superior as he fuck the bitch out of her. It made him want to exchange positions with Erwin.
Outside the closet that Levi was hiding in, Erwin’s pace started to go faster and his thrusts, deeper. Both him and (Y/N) had lose control over the noises that they make, allowing themselves to drown into the intense pleasure that they selfishly take from one another. Erwin grunted, feeling a familiar coil tighten in his stomach. He reached for (Y/N) clit, rubbing it vigorously alongside his now sloppy thrusts.
“Fuck- (Y/N)-”
“Erwin, shit- ah, I’m- Oh fuck, I’m-”
Levi fisted himself faster. He listened attentively to (Y/N)’s desperate moans and watched carefully as Erwin bit on her fully exposed neck. He bit one of the coats, muffling his own noises. ‘Fuck, I’m close.’
(Y/N) and Erwin both moaned as they reached orgasm together. (Y/N) threw her head back and her body arched. Her whole being was shocked as continuous waves of pleasure surged through her whole body.
Erwin, on the other hand, made a noise somewhere between a moan and a groan. He swore a couple of ‘fucks’ before shooting his load inside her, thrusting just a little for bit before resting stilling.
Levi, still inside the closet, watched everything unfold and reached his high together with the couple. He came on his handkerchief that he luckily brought with him in his pocket. ‘Fuck, that was intense… and shameful.’ He groaned.
“Fuck, you took me so well, baby.” Erwin said, his voice still husky.
(Y/N) hummed, “You came inside me.”
“I did.”
“Fuck, I’m tired.”
“Shall we shower and sleep after?” Erwin asked, a hint of mischief evident in his voice.
(Y/N) chuckled, “Tsk, You. Are. Insatiable. You know that?”
Erwin only hummed and chuckled before carrying (Y/N). After that, they proceeded to the bedroom and closed the door after them.
Levi made sure that they’re finally in the shower before he exited the closet and made his way to the door. He panted as he rushed his way to his room, making sure nobody noticed whose coat is he wearing. Levi came to a halt when a familiar voice called out for him.
“Levi! Where have you been??” Hange asked, a hint of annoy evident on her voice.
“Long story.” Levi shortly replied.
“Well, tell us. It’s not like we didn’t wait forever for you.”
Levi didn’t reply, instead, he pulled Hange to the direction of her room. He opened the door and there, on the floor, sat Miche. His head was resting on the bed and his eyes slowly opened as the two entered, shutting the door behind them. Upon seeing Levi wearing a coat, Miche chuckled, “You’re a size of a woman.”
“Tsk.”
“So, what took you so long?” Hange asked.
Both Hange and Miche’s eyes widened as Levi told them what he just saw, leaving the personal parts of course. They were all speechless, Hange and Miche having their jaws on the floor. “Damn.”

As their meeting started the next day, Levi, Hange, and Miche struggled to focus on the conversation being held by their superiors. They can’t help but steal glances on Erwin and (Y/N). Damn can they not believe what Levi just told them that he saw. They argued that it might have only been his drunkenness that made him hallucinate but today, they doubt Levi no further. Only today that they noticed the malicious glances that the two commanders share. The subtle smirks, hidden messages, and flirting. They argued as if they hate each other yet stared like starved animals, waiting to attack and devour.
‘I guess that is just how good Commanders hide.’

A fragment about Hermann getting slapped by a guard at the Nuremberg cafeteria:
Tumblr media
Suddenly, the heavy double doors swung open and a group of US military police came in, escorting a tall, flabby man in handcuffs who seemed to float in his coat. Chadeyev, turning, recognized Field Marshal Hermann Goering’s pomaded hair, long, sensuous mouth, and deeply furrowed forehead. There must have been some unusual delay allowing a prisoner to eat in the cafeteria, Chadeyev thought, since normally the defendants returned to their jail cells during recess. He jumped up and fumbled for his press pass.
As Goering came nearer, Chadeyev saw that, although his waxy color showed the effects of imprisonment, he held his head high and his deep-set eyes looked around the room as if he owned it. The prisoner’s pudgy hand pointing to a corner table made Chadeyev’s mouth tighten with rage. For an instant, he measured the space between himself, Goering and the guards, imagining his hands on the flabby throat, but the moment passed and he gripped his camera even tighter.
By the time Chadeyev caught up with the group, Goering was sitting between two MPs. One of them was loosening his handcuffs. A young officer, in hard hat and gleaming white belt, who remained standing and alert, frowned as the photographer hobbled towards him
Chadeyev handed the officer his press pass, which said TASS/PHOTO in roman and Cyrillic letters. He uncapped his lens and waited impatiently, unsure whether to risk confiscation of his film by snatching at the chance to confront this murderer. Suddenly, Goering jumped up from the bench, his face purple with anger, his pale eyes nearly bursting from their sockets and spat a staccato stream of German words at the photographer. The American officer stared at Goering’s face, which was contorted with hatred.
Chadeyev stood immobile as the stream of insults washed over him. He spoke no German, but Goering’s tone was the same one that he had heard blaring from the loudspeakers, the verbal assault preceding the machine guns, in every Russian village and town, and he recognized "Russische" and "schweinehund." Although he remained outwardly impassive, he could feel his whole body tightening on the grief and fear that he had fought for five long years.
The young officer only hesitated a moment before shouting:
"Shut up, for Chrissake, shut up. Who the hell do you think you are?
They were now both screaming and the guard nearest to Goering, an older man, calmly turned and slapped him. The prisoner slid down on the bench, his hot face pale white. That was how Chadeyev, taking his time and pulling slowly on the frayed cord, captured him: a collapsed balloon. He waved a salute to thank the officer and returned to his table. Goering, still muttering, started to eat with his handcuffed hands.

The mob lunged towards me, screeching and grabbing, and I knew that if I fell I would never get up. I’ve stopped expecting mercy from anyone whose motto is ‘Be kind’ but the event last week was terrifying. I was sure in that moment, on the New Zealand leg of my ‘Let Women Speak’ tour, that the trans activists who surrounded me would trample me to death if they could. They gather in menacing groups to intimidate us and hurt us if they can, just to prevent us speaking a simple truth: that women don’t have penises, men don’t have vaginas, there is no such thing as non-binary and transitioning children is abuse.
We started these talks at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park, London and have now taken them around the UK and across the USA. The format of the event is a gathering with a microphone and amplification, livestreamed to my ‘Kellie-Jay Keen’ YouTube channel. Women can finally say what they want, protected by the group. It’s a genuine free speech event. Sydney, Brisbane and Perth events saw a few hundred women in total attend and speak about the impact transgender ideology is having upon their lives. They were afraid and yet defiant – they’ve had enough. There were tears and a triumphant resolve to bring our society back to a place where the truth has more value than virtue-signalling.
The turn towards violence came in Melbourne at our largest gathering. The police had done a pretty fine job of protecting women with buffer zones between us and the rabid trans activists. But this gathering included competing groups of woman-hating losers: trans incels to the left of me and Nazis to the right, and here we were stuck in the middle and blamed by the media and politicians for the Nazi salute that occurred. I’ve been asked following that incident whether I have sympathies with the far right, but seriously, who does? It’s a vile ideology and frankly anyone convinced by it in 2023 is pathetic. John Pesutto, the leader of the Liberals in Victoria, repeated dangerous lies about me and suspended Moira Deeming MP from his party for her association with me.
The Tasmanian event was pretty horrifying. The women who spoke were visibly terrified and an angry mob drowned out their voices with hysterical screams and cult-like mantras. Following the event, I was called ‘a Terd’ – a play on ‘Terf’ – in the Tasmanian parliament. This storm gathered pace and in New Zealand it was magnified a hundredfold. There was a case brought to the high court to try to stop me entering the country and their media started a constant spew of lies, insisting I was a dangerous anti-trans Nazi. At the border I had a two-hour interrogation and search, one hotel cancelled my reservation, and in another a threatening note was slid under my door while I slept. I had been told I would be protected by the police. That couldn’t have been further from the truth.
The big event, the one that has been in the news, was in Auckland, and the minute I arrived I felt rising fear. As the car pulled up I could see the thousands gathered to oppose me. My security gathered around me and we pushed through the hateful mob to the centre, where the local organisers and attendees were who had come to speak. Where were the police? Not one officer was in that crowd; not one officer was there to protect the brave women who turned up. Within seconds a man had tipped tomato soup all over my head. I continued to live-stream. But over the next few minutes the mob took on a life of its own. A frenzy grew until it was a deafening swell, a modern-day ‘Burn the witch’. Men started ripping down the barriers and charging forward. ‘The police aren’t coming,’ said my head of security. ‘We have to get you out.’ This meant placing me in the centre of my security and some stewards, women who had volunteered to help, pushed through the baying mob. As we moved, we stumbled. I knew that a body on a floor is fair game and ripe for stomping and kicking. When we eventually got to the outer edge of the park, the police did step in and helped get me to a car. They took me to the nearest police station where I was guarded for six hours before I had an escort of three officers to the airport. They didn’t leave until my plane took off.
That day I was told emphatically by each police officer and security that had I fallen I would have been killed. Women were injured that day, women who you may never hear about. You will never know their names. They didn’t get to hop on a plane and leave; they have to stay and live in a country that has told them their lives are not worth protecting.

LUCY’S THIN BLUE LINE
Lucy and Law Enforcement ~ Part 2
Tumblr media
On “The Lucy Show,” Lucy Carmichael not only had multiple run-ins with the police - she actually became one for a couple of episodes!  Here’s a look at Carmichael and Cops!
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Viv Become Tycoons” (1963) ~ When Lucy and Viv open their own business at home, they are visited by Sergeant Robbins (Bern Hoffman) to check on their permits and operating practices. In 1960, Hoddman appeared in the Lucille Ball / Bob Hope film The Facts of Life.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Drives a Dump Truck” (1963) ~ Driving a truck to a nearby town, Lucy and Viv are pulled over by a Brewster policeman played by Richard Reeves, a veteran of nine episodes of “I Love Lucy” including playing a policeman in “Equal Rights” (1953). This is his only appearance on “The Lucy Show.”
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Safe Cracker” (1963) ~ When Mr. Mooney gets locked in the safe (again), Lucy contacts a safe cracker (Jay Novello) and Sergeant Wilcox (James Flavin) is on the scene. Coincidentally, Flavin played the Immigration Officer searching for Mario Orsatti (Jay Novello) in  “Visitor from Italy” (1956). He will return to “The Lucy Show” two episodes later to play Sgt. Wilcox again in another bank-themed episode. He appeared in four films with Lucille Ball, including playing a police sergeant in Without Love (1945). During his long career he played so many officers of the law that his IMDB photo is of him in a police uniform!
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Bank Scandal” (1963) ~ Sergeant Wilcox (James Flavin) investigates a case of embezzelment at the Danfield Bank. Lucy suspects Mr. Mooney and digs up his yard to find the stolen cash.
Tumblr media
“Lucy is Her Own Lawyer” (1964) ~ Officer Joe (Joe Mell) the Baliff, swears in Lucy Carmichael as well as Mr. Mooney and Nelson the dog! Mell returns as a Baliff in “Lucy the Meter Maid” (1964) and a Bank Guard in “Lucy the Stockholder” (1965).
Tumblr media
“Lucy the Meter Maid” (1964) ~ Lucy joins the Danfield Police Force as meter maid. When Viv doesn’t feed the meter, Lucy issues her a summons and they land up in court. Once again, Joe Mell plays the Baliff.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Makes a Pinch” (1964) ~ Still on the Force, Lucy is recruited to be part of a stake out. The episode features three of Danfield’s finest (left to right): Murdock (Jack Searl), Captain Bradford (Alan Carney), and Detective Bill Baker (Jack Kelly).  As a child actor, Jack Searl was featured in the 1932 film Officer Thirteen, about motorcyle cops. Alan Carney played a policeman in the 1963 comedy classic It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. In 1955, Jack Kelly appeared on a TV series titled “City Detective.”
Tumblr media
“Lucy the Coin Collector” (1964) ~ When Lucy drops a rare coin down the sewar grate, she is consoled by a cop on the beat (Ray Kellogg).  his is the second of his seven episodes of “The Lucy Show.” He also did two episodes of “Here’s Lucy.” Just as in his other screen credits, most most times he played policemen, as he does here.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Ceramic Cat” (1965) ~ While Lucy breaks into Bigelow’s Department Store, Viv stands guard, diverting the cop on the beat (John J. ‘Red’ Fox). Fox was best known for playing policemen, which is what he did on five of his eight appearances on “The Lucy Show” as well as three of his five episodes of “Here’s Lucy.”
Tumblr media
“Lucy, the Stockholder” (1965) ~ After buying a single share of the Danfield Bank for $32, Lucy the stockholder pays the bank a visit. She warns the lackadaisical guard (Joe Mell) that she has a nine year-old nephew who is quicker on the draw than him.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Undercover Agent” (1965) ~ Trying to get access to performer Carol Channing, Lucy charms Military Police (MP) officer Sol Schwartz. The character name was specifically chosen so Lucy can sing “Hello, Solly” to the tune of “Hello, Dolly”.
Tumblr media
“Salute to Stan Laurel” (1965) ~ In a special tributing the late comedian, Lucille Ball is part of a silent movie sketch featuring Buster Keaton and Harvey Korman as a policeman in the park.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Meets Mickey Rooney” (1965) ~ A silent movie sketch based on Charlie Chaplin’s The Kid features the Keystone Kops (Sid Gould, above). Keystone Kops are fictional, humorously incompetent policemen featured in silent film slapstick comedies produced by Mack Sennett for his Keystone Film Company between 1912 and 1917.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Goes to a Hollywood Premiere” (1966) ~ Mr. Mooney is questioned by Officer Collins (Robert Foulk) of the Beverly Hills Police Department. He doesn’t have a permit to sell maps to the movie stars’ homes and is hauled down to the police station. Foulk played the Brooklyn policeman on the subway platform in “Lucy and the Loving Cup” (1956). He will go on to play six characters on “Here’s Lucy,” two of them policemen.
Tumblr media

MP High Court: The person who said 'Pakistan Zindabad' got bail on a unique condition, will have to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' 21 times every month
MP High Court: This condition has been put by Justice Dinesh Kumar Paliwal. He said that this condition of saluting the flag at Bhopal's Misrod Police Station will continue till the case is over.
Tumblr media
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted bail to an accused on a unique condition. This condition is to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' 21 times. Actually, this person has been granted bail on the charge of raising anti-India slogans, but a unique condition has also been attached to it. Faizal alias Faizan was released on Tuesday on the condition that he will salute the national flag 21 times twice every month and chant "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". This order has been given as a bail condition so that the accused can awaken the feeling of patriotism and responsibility.
This unique condition of patriotism for bail
has been put by Justice Dinesh Kumar Paliwal. He said that this condition of saluting the flag at Bhopal's Misrod Police Station will continue till the trial is over. The court order states, "He will mark his presence at Misrod Police Station on the first and fourth Tuesday of every month between 10 am and 12 noon and salute the flag 21 times, as well as chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'."
Justice Paliwal believes that this unique bail condition may perhaps save the accused from future legal complications. Along with this, Faizal was also directed to deposit a bond of ₹ 50,000, and warned that the bail order will automatically expire if the conditions are violated.
The slogan that landed Faizan in trouble
The case is related to an incident in which Faizal was accused of raising slogans of "Pakistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad". Following which a case was registered under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code. The state lawyer, while opposing the bail plea, also said that Faizal is a habitual offender and 14 other cases are also registered against him.
Faizal argued that the incident had been exaggerated, but he also admitted that the man seen raising slogans in the video was Faizal.
While Faizal's lawyer argued that he had been falsely implicated, the court, without commenting on the merits of the case, granted bail considering Faizal's criminal history and previous charges, but attached a condition of patriotism to it.

Stop gaslighting us: There is racist rot at the heart of the UK
New Post has been published on https://sa7ab.info/2024/08/11/stop-gaslighting-us-there-is-racist-rot-at-the-heart-of-the-uk-2/
Stop gaslighting us: There is racist rot at the heart of the UK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2021, an infamous government-backed report, the Sewell Commission, claimed that the UK was “a model for other White-majority countries” on issues of race equality. Much to the consternation of many anti-racists, the report found that there was scant evidence of institutional racism in the UK.
Just three years later, this “model” country is gaining international attention as far-right thugs intimidate, harass and attack people of colour.
As hotels housing people seeking asylum are torched and Nazi salutes are being thrown in the air  across the country, the UK is anything but a beacon of equality some would like us to believe.
The violence that has long been simmering under the surface has finally reared its ugly head. As the Runnymede Trust warned, this is what happens when the scapegoating of migrants and people seeking asylum gains full sponsorship by mainstream political elites and the media.
This is what happens when political parties across the spectrum pursue hostile environment immigration policies over decades to distract from economic and political failings.
When concerns about racism in Britain are ignored and diminished, the fascist right is emboldened.
Over the past five years in particular we have been sounding the alarm about the rowback of the civil and political rights of migrants, refugees and people of colour through recent legislation, and of the impact of harmful anti-migrant rhetoric.
Through these policies, the hostile environment has achieved what it set out to do: deputise its citizens to create a culture of fear and exclusion for migrants.
From the Rwanda and Immigration Acts, which undermined the human rights of asylum seekers and refugees, to the attack on the democratic freedoms of people of colour under the guise of the Public Order and Elections Act, people of colour and migrants have faced huge hostility.
But our concerns have been downplayed, replaced with attacks on civil society for highlighting the existence of structural inequalities.
How the UK establishment enables racism
As in 2021, at this moment of crisis, the concerns of people of colour are again being undermined and diminished.
Media coverage of the race riots have received criticism for focusing on the actions of ‘protestors’ and ‘demonstrators’ in British towns and cities rather than labelling them as rioters.
This is coupled with claims that the fascists marauding the streets represent legitimate frustrations and that the “dumping of millions of migrants from alien cultures”, the supposed failure of Black and Brown people to ‘integrate’ into British society and “uncontrolled, mass immigration” are to blame.
There has even been a failure to name the violence as openly Islamophobic, despite the targeted attacks on Mosques and Muslim grave sites.
Indeed, when Zarah Sultana MP, a brown, Muslim politician went on Good Morning Britain to talk about the Islamaphobic nature of these riots, her treatment by presenters was widely criticised as patronising, and belittling.
Far-right politicians and figures are telling us to take seriously the claims that ‘two tiers of policing’ are being employed against rioters — that the policing response has been more heavy-handed than their response to, for example, the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020.
Not only is the institutional racism of the police service well-evidenced, a whole tranche of anti-protest legislation was introduced in the wake of BLM. To compare BLM demonstrations with the current race riots is wrong.
Ironically, former Conservative Cabinet Minister Robert Jenrick demonstrated the absurdity of this myth by advocating that, in the middle of this crisis of racist hatred against Muslim people, those who proclaim ‘Allahu Akbar’ in public should be “immediately arrested”.
In other words, even at this moment of profound anxiety, tension and pain for communities of colour, every effort is being made by certain political and media elites to diminish, and sometimes demonise our concerns.
This is a well-worn tactic but should not deter us from struggling for justice in the face of these unspeakable horrors.
People of colour are exhausted from being gaslit. We are tired of being told we should be happy with our lot, that anti-migration policies have nothing to do with race, that the demands of fascists are reasonable.
It’s time to take our concerns seriously, so that we can build a better future free from fear and violence.
Alba Kapoor is the Head of Policy at the Runnymede Trust, the UK’s leading race equality think tank. She delivers large scale pieces of policy research and works to set out Runnymede’s anti-racist agenda. Alba was the recipient of the Kennedy Scholarship 2022-’23 at Harvard University.

How about Erwin x reader who happens to be the newly appointed deputy commander over the MPs. This time reader is the workaholic. After being introduced by Nile some years back she’s been more or less secretly dating Erwin for a bit. As much as he admires her hard work and desire to reform her branch for the better, daddy Erwin misses indulging in his favorite addiction…licking, tongue ducking or eating out reader while she rides his face.
I’m a fan of detailed/descriptive oral on the female receiving end or just female worship in general 😝 defs also love the idea of daddy Erwin still being dominant but I also feel like he’s the type that would like to dote on reader who isn’t helpless or dependent unless faced with her one weakness, daddy Erwin’s tongue.
That seemed oddly intimidating/embarrassing to write 🤣😅 but yeah there’s the idea. Daddy Erwin worships reader….and perhaps has a habit of giving into addiction often behind closed doors or right under everyone’s noses. I hope you like the idea! If not it’s all good 😌
OMG I LOVE this idea cuz imma agree with you, daddy Erwin would most definitely fall for someone who's like him -> hardworking and dominant and willing to put everything on the line for the betterment of the world.
I'm so sorry this took so long 😭 I'm on Easter break rn, so imma sin and write all the sinful things AHAHHA I have one more ask of yours and no worries I have not forgotten!
TW: SMUT BELOW, overstimulation, MDNI imma try to make the oral (f receiving) detailed as per requested, vaginal sex Pairing: Erwin x DeputyMPCommander!Reader Tagging: @hopeless-daydream3r @syrma-sensei @antoxsmith @macyomoiji @peachysunrize-deactivated202204 WHY DOES IT SAY DEACTIVATED HERE ARE WE LOSING ONE OF THE BEST SMUT WRITERS OR WHAT @killerbananas @slavanimesimp and whoever else wants to enter the taglist, lemme know in the comments!
You sighed heavily as you watched the younger cadets delivering you yet another pile of paperwork. They placed it on your desk and they saluted you before they exited your office.
So much bureaucracy, and for what? The Military Police was shitty anyway. All those kids that joined were from the rich families of Wall Sina. None of them was skilled and the ones who were, they were going to drop their skills in the trash because Wall Sina promised them a good life.
Your Regiment was shit and you knew it. You have always known and that's why you joined. You joined to make it better than it was, and you were so close. You had just been appointed deputy commander.
But just one person couldn't do much.
You sighed tiredly and stood off your chair. You had been sitting on your ass all day. You grabbed your green Military Police coat and put it on.
You hadn't seen Erwin in months. You just always tried to make sure he was alive after every expedition you went off to.
The Commander of the Scout Regiment - you admired him. The man had nerves of steel. Nile had introduced you two at an evening in the Royal Palace for the Annual Celebration of the King's Reign.
You had caught his eye right away. Someone actually trying to fix the MPs? You were one of a kind. He had offered you to join the Scouts instead. You really didn't belong with the MPs. He had seen you fight. You had potential.
You kindly, and regretfully declined. You had a goal - no matter how impossible it was, you wouldn't stop trying. But his offer was still on the table.
And as for you two? There was this relationship between you two that you had no idea what it was, you just knew it was addicting. You were each other's comfort. You would listen to him for hours and hours (the rare days you had time) talk about how disrupted everything was and you'd add to the discussion.
It helped nothing talking about it, you were both trying hard, and it felt good to have an understanding. It felt good to have someone who could understand and agree.
So you put on your coat and you made your way to the stables. You rode out to the Trost District, to the headquartered of the Survey Corps.
Upon entering the building, it was a mess. People talking and walking around and doing their chores and delivering papers to the officials.
Erwin was in the chaos, talking with Hange and Miche and another couple of his Section Commanders. His eyes fell on your figure as you stood in the midst of it all and he stopped talking.
"Deputy Commander (F/n) (L/n)," He said and you tucked your hands in the pockets of your coat.
"Don't mind me. Just passing by," You shrugged. "Thought I should wish you good luck for your upcoming Expedition,"
He knew exactly why you were there. "My office," He nodded at you. "Hange, I do not wish to be disturbed,"
"Y- Yeah- Y- Yes, sir!" Hange tried their best not to start snickering. They definitely knew about you two, didn't they?
Erwin escorted you to his office and once you were inside, he wasted no second. He pushed you against the closed door, and he kissed you.
He kissed you hard, and you wrapped your arms around his shoulders bringing him closer. He wrapped his arms around your waist and you could taste tea on his tongue and himself. You buried your fingers in his hair and tugged him down to you.
He pulled back, panting against your wet lips as he gripped your coat and tugged it off your shoulders.
"Missed you," You mumbled as he buried his face in your neck and tugged on your shirt. He wanted you to take everything off. "Whoah, hang on a sec-" You clenched a hand in his hair but he cut you.
"I want you to ride my face," He pulled back to look at you with hunger in his eyes and your eyes widened at his sudden request.
"Uh... well w- we'll get to that, if you first promise not to die in the next Expedition,"
He almost frowned. "You know I can't promise anything like that,"
You groaned. "I know but please, I can't be surrounded by idiots for the rest of my life,"
He chuckled. He cupped your cheek. "That will be an unavoidable problem," He grinned. "Enough talking," He picked you up as if you weighed nothing and he settled you on his shoulder, face dangling from his back. You laughed.
He placed you down on his bed and climbed on top of you. He kissed your lips while your hands worked on his shirt and his hands worked on your own.
You were naked and beneath him before you knew it. He was still wearing his pants and you whined as he didn't let you unclothe him further. He brought you to straddle his chest. Your wet heat just inches from his face and your cheeks grew a bright red. It wasn't the first time you were doing this, but he always tended to make things quite messy when you did that.
"Just let me know if you can't breathe, okay?"
"You're breathtaking, darling, I can never breathe when I'm around you,"
You laughed lightly at his cheesy little comment. He was such a dork. Always making the dorkiest compliments that a few decades back would have definitely worked in making a woman fall, but now they were just funny and traditional, but they never failed to make you blush.
"Aw, so sweet," You commented before shifting on top of him. He grabbed your buttcheeks in his large palms and he brought you on top of him. His tongue lashed out, flicking against your clit and you gasped.
Your toes curled and your pretty lips parted as he sucked your clit between his plump lips and his tongue began to explore your sweet hole. You were so wet already and your hips were twitching against his face. His nose grazed gently against your clit and his tongue thrust inside your sweet hole, lapping up your juices and rubbing against all the right spots.
You saw stars. You threw your head back and your body shook in his grasp. You almost shifted away from the excess pleasure he was putting on your body but his fingers tightened in the plush of your hips, your buttcheeks, your skin, locking you in place. Your pretty sounds were getting louder and louder. You riding his tongue, his nose rubbed against your clit and it made you see stars.
Your fingers clenched in his hair forcing his face deeper in your throbbing heat and the coil in your stomach threatened to snap.
"Fuck! E- D- Daddy, I'm... I'm gonna cum... I'm gonna cum, fuck..." You breathed out shakily and he landed a smack on your buttcheek that stung oh-so-deliciously, pushing you over the edge. "Fuck!"
You mewled and whimpered and his tongue lapped up your juices, before sucking your clit in his mouth, overstimulating you through your tense orgasm till you were shaking and you were shying away from him. His arms tightened around you and he kept you in place. His tongue thrust back in and you almost screamed.
"N- No! Fuck! Too much, daddy! Too much... please, please... I'm gonna... Ah-!"
He flipped you on your back and he was on top of you before you knew it. You watched him unbuckling his belt and finally releasing his hard cock from the confines of his pants. He grunted when he pressed the leaky tip to your wet warm hole and he slipped in.
You tensed at the sheer size that always split your body in two. This man was perfect in any way. Huge and sexy and always towering over you. He held so much power over everyone and everything.
He caught your lips in his own and he kissed you hard and sweet. You could taste yourself on his tongue as his cock all the way in, kissing your cervix with such ease. You gasped in his mouth and pulled from the kiss to let both of you pant.
"My good girl," He caught your hips, hooking them around his waist as he started to thrust slowly in and out. "Taking me so well," He groaned against your lips as he thrust back in.
"S' big daddy," You whined as he pulled out and pushed all the way back in. His balls pressing against your ass.
He chuckled. "Only the best for my spoiled girl," He brought his fingers past your lips and you started sucking on them obediently. "Now be a good girl and keep those sounds down for me. You don't want the entire HQ knowing how much of a pretty slut you are, do you?"
You shook your head dumbly. His fingers still in your mouth and his cock deep inside you. He pulled his fingers from your mouth and petted your hair.
"Good girl,"
He pulled back to sit on his knees, grabbing a hold of your hips and starting to thrust in and out hard and fast. You wailed and you threw your head back. Your body arched and your fingers fisted on the sheets. You were so pretty right there, getting wrecked, screaming over his fat cock that split you over and over. Beautiful breasts bouncing with every thrust and his hand settled between your legs, rubbing your aching clit.
You came almost instantly and he groaned at your walls fluttering around him, squeezing him tight. His cock coated in your clear wetness and he didn't stop. He fucked you through your orgasm and he kept on rubbing on your abused clit till you were shaking and trying to close your legs around him.
Your hand reached for his own, trying to stop him from rubbing on your raw nub "Please, daddy! S' too much... too much..."
He yanked your hand away. His hips, relentless. "Take it... take it,"
He grunted when he felt you cum around him again and he finally let up. He pulled out of you cumming all over your stomach. White-hot cum looked so beautiful on your heaving belly. He looked down at you. Always so pretty when absolutely wrecked.
"Good girl,"

I have an Angsty Ask:
Levi's S/O is called in to identify a body that may or may not be her nephews (whom she's very close to). As it turns out it is and she's having a hard time grieving his death and Levi notices that in her behavior. She's training a lot more, becoming more rude and hostile during meetings and towards the cadets until one day she just angrily snaps at him, though Levi doesn't make any moves to comfort her until she's done with her rampage and just breaks down crying into his arms.
Tumblr media
pairing: levi x reader
cw: mentions of death, grieving reader, emotional breakdown, angst
author's note: i feel bad for disappearing for a literal week so i'm making this one longer than usual <3 school and my personal life agendas are killing me, i apologize
Tumblr media
- grief and guilt -
"is section commander y/n around?" you heard a military police ask a cadet, your head turned towards his direction upon hearing your name being called. you walked towards him and he saluted you.
"i apologize but you are needed in the military police headquarters, you are required to identify a body that was recently killed last night" the mp said and your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"identify a body of who, exactly?" you asked and the mp's expression turned into one of regret. he sighed deeply before continuing, "based on the identification card found on the body, we think he might be your nephew"
your heart dropped to your stomach, only being able to nod in response. at this point, levi had appeared next to you and put a hand on the small of your back to silently tell you that he was there.
"t-thank you, i-i'll be there this afternoon" you said before turning back to the cadets to continue training them. levi watched you closely, seeing the grim expression on your face before it was wiped off and turned back into your usual happy and cheery face.
you dreaded the upcoming afternoon, you were scared to see if that body was really your nephew. a nephew that your sister left behind for you to take care of. he was old enough to live on his own but the both of you had a close relationship, considering that you were the only family each of you had left.
"hey levi? can you- can you come with me?" you asked once the cadets has been dismissed. levi's eyes softened, a consoling expression on his face. he wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you close and pressing a kiss on your forehead. "of course, brat"
erwin had been informed about the situation and offered the both of you a carriage to safely transport you to stohess and back. the trip was a bit too long for your liking, it was a few hours trip from trost to stohess in general and with your anxiety, it made the long trip worse.
you could feel your body trembling from fear, you didn't want that body to be your nephew but the closer you got to stohess, the more your gut was telling you that it was. levi's hand was on top of yours all of a sudden and the contact made you turn your head at him.
no words needed to be said, the look in levi's eyes that you read clearly was enough to put you at ease just a bit - a look that told you it was going to be alright and that he was going to be beside you no matter what happens.
the carriage arrived in the military police headquarters a few hours later, the moon was high in the sky and it made the situation more nerve wracking.
nile greeted you by the gates, also a consoling and regretful expression on his face. they were really positive that the body was your nephew. levi and nile exchanged a nod of acknowledgement before nile turned to you.
"right this way, y/n" nile said, leading the way. levi's hand snaked around yours, giving it a reassuring squeeze and you nodded. you both followed nile into the dimly lit hallways of the military police headquarters. you felt sick to your stomach when you reached a closed door.
nile looked back at you, making sure you were ready before opening the door. the nurses saw your presence, saluting all three of you before leading you to a body in the far corner of the room. your hand was shaking in levi's grasp when she pulled back the white sheet on top.
but for some reason, no tears fell down your cheeks when you were faced with the lifeless body of your nephew. your face and mind were blank, void of any emotions. "i confirm that this is my nephew. bury him beside his mother. thank you"
the nurse nodded and wrote something down on her clipboard before covering the body once again. without another word, you let go of levi's hand and left the room. you walked back to the carriage, needing some space to think.
you were lost in your thoughts staring out the window and you didn't even notice levi get in the carriage. he kept his distance and gave you your space, he knew you well enough to know that when you needed your space that you had to get your space. physical contact or verbal words weren't a choice in the situation.
the next day was in the same heavy atmosphere, you were training more and stricter to the cadets. it was all to distract yourself from your nephew's death. your behavior didn't go unnoticed by levi and some of the cadets. by now, word has gone out that you lost your nephew and everyone was willing to endure whatever harsh comment or training you gave them, knowing that it was a way for you to cope and distract yourself.
you continued to train hours after you dismissed the cadets, you couldn't stop. it was keeping you distracted from the weeks, months long grief you're going to feel once you stop. levi watched you from afar, keeping a close eye on you. he was worried that you haven't broke yet but he knew that you will, you were just stopping yourself from breaking.
as bad as it sounds, levi wanted you to break - to scream at the top of your lungs and to cry for as long as you want. he knew well how difficult it is to bottle up emotions when you lose someone close to you for he has experienced it more times that he can count.
after what felt like hours, you finally stopped training and headed back inside. your mind took you back to your nephew and you didn't even notice levi when you walked back inside the castle.
nevertheless, levi walked a half step behind you. far enough to give you space but close enough to let you know that he was there for you. you continued with your routine like normal, snapping at the smallest things while levi stayed silent.
that continued for days and with each day that passes, you become more hostile to the people around you.
it was a day off but you were out on the field, training yet again. you could feel the tears streaming down your cheeks when you repeatedly punched the fake titan that was used as a punching exercise for everyone.
you felt the bottle starting to burst and you fast walked back to your shared bedroom with levi. your feet took you to the bookshelf, pulling out a specific book from the shelf. you turned to a page, seeing the dried flower that you purposely pressed into the book from a long time ago.
it was a flower that your nephew gave you when he was first handed to your custody when your sister died. your eyes welled up in tears, carefully cradling the fragile flower in your hands. you wailed painfully, all the grief you've been holding back came crashing down on you.
you placed the flower back in the book, going deeper into your grief. you pulled out every book you own from the shelf, trashing them around the room. levi would not appreciate the untidy room but you couldn't care less, you needed an escape.
"it's all my fault! this is all my fault!" you yelled at the top of your lungs, continuing to trash the room. the commotion caught the attention of every cadet and superior in the castle but they didn't make any effort to stop or scold you. they understood the feelings you felt and if trashing everything and yelling at the top of your lungs helped then they would let you be for as long as you need.
hange and erwin stood next to levi by the threshold of the open doors to his office. a worried look on hange's face as she watched you completely lose it, she instinctively tried to go over to you to comfort you but levi stopped her.
"don't. let her be" levi muttered, keeping his eyes on you the entire time. hange nodded, staying back to let you continue your rampage. they let you trash the room, sitting back quietly just in case you were to do something that would put you in harm.
the trio rushed to you when you found the blades of your odm gear, levi grabbed your arm while hange and erwin took the blades from you along with the other blades in the room. the both of them left levi to comfort you, knowing that he was the only person that could calm you down at the moment.
"no! let me go! let me fucking go, levi!" you yelled, thrashing around in his grip. levi kept his arms around you, just to prevent you from getting anything else that would hurt you.
you cried and thrashed in his arms until you felt physically and emotionally drained from your rampage. you slumped forward and levi caught you before you crashed into the floor. he turned you around in his arms and let you cry into his chest.
"shh, y/n. it's going to be okay, you're going to be okay" levi whispered, running his hand down your back as you clutched his shirt tightly in your hands.
levi held you tightly against him, whispering comforting words into your ear. you held onto him, desperately needing the comfort and support that you've pushed away for so long.
levi picked you up, bringing you to the couch and setting you down on his lap. you eventually calmed down, feeling drained than ever. you reached for the glass of water that was on the table, levi wrapped his hands around yours to help you bring the cup to your lips.
you slumped back against him once you drank the contents of the cup, levi wrapped his arms around you tightly once again. no words were exchanged, just the presence of your lover was enough to assure you that everything will get better.
the weeks that followed, levi held you whenever you needed a release of emotions until you were back to your usual cheery self. your nephew's death became your motivation, to continue your life, to continue living for the both of you and your sister.
nile informed you that your nephew was buried beside his mother like you requested and after a few days, you finally got the courage to visit him and your sister.
and like it has been for the past month, levi was there beside you the entire time.

IC-1136: i hd you.]
...
“Sir, I apologize for what I’m about to say. IC-4447 is dead.”
Roly Melusar did not react. Niner may as well have said he’d submitted his squad’s annual performance evaluations. “How did he die?”
Melusar looked right at Niner, holding eye contact for a moment that ticked by too slowly. His tone was even, but Niner suspected the question was rhetorical.
“Suicide. We … we found him. He’s been examined by medical and taken to the morgue. You’ll have the police report in a couple of hours.”
Niner had never had to report a squadmate’s death before, but there was a first time for everything. Blaster bolt to the temple. His own weapon. We were just outside when it happened — Dar was inside the ‘fresher.
Yes, you can ask him. Dar, the MPs need to take your account. No, we didn’t touch anything.
Melusar rose from where he sat behind his desk. He leaned over the polished surface, supporting his weight on his fingertips. He nodded once, then walked around the desk. “How’s Forty taking it?”
The new squad name went in one ear and out the other. Niner had gotten used to Omega, and he'd get used to Forty, too.
But he wouldn't get used to the absence of Fi and Atin.
Darman wasn’t taking Ennen's loss well. He’d disappeared off base by himself. He'd always been the type to process things alone, but still, for a commando, isolation wasn't a good sign.
Rede seemed shocked. Niner could only hope he'd eventually adapt to this tragedy as well as he had to everything else he'd been put through so far.
“Hard, sir. But we’ll handle it.”
“You always do. Take the next couple of days to yourselves. Don’t worry about the details for now … we’ll find a replacement when you’re ready.”
Niner had come to expect fairness and genuine support from their commander, but all the warm words in the world didn’t make the situation any easier. He felt hollow and robotic. “Thank you, Sir. One other request – Ennen was Corellian. He would have wanted a cremation.”
“Yes of course. Once I receive the formal report we’ll proceed with those arrangements. That won’t be the end of it, unfortunately. We’ll have to endure an investigation – don’t take it personally. Investigation is routine when something like this happens."
The only thing Niner had ever taken personally was his squad’s welfare and performance. He took a breath and clenched his jaw tightly.
"I don’t have to tell you to keep your squad within recall distance.”
“No Sir.”
“Take care of yourselves, Sergeant. I’ll contact you when I have an update."
Niner saluted, about-faced, and strode out of the office. He’d find Rede and they’d walk the base, kicking up dust and pretending to be doing something other than trying to forget about Ennen.
Laundry. Rede stared at Ennen’s pile of hand-me-downs — worn blacks, fatigues, a few civvie shirts and pants. “What will happen to them?” Rede asked suddenly, toeing a red T-shirt. Rede hadn’t been through this before – the coming home to a barracks room and finding nothing but items which had nowhere to belong. Or the rote solemnity of tasks performed to force the emptiness into a structure. Filling the time so you’d make it to tomorrow. Senior leadership misunderstood how soldiers worked, Niner thought. All free time ever did was remind you where you’d gone wrong.
If they’d been a regular infantry unit, service droids would have cleaned up all evidence that Ennen had ever existed. But commando squads took care of their own – increased autonomy meant self sufficiency. Not a steep price to pay when it meant you could hold on to those you’d lost.
They divided up Ennen’s clothing between them wordlessly. Rede took the civvies and folded them, lingering reverently over his footlocker as if the precision of the folds would make things right. Maybe they wouldn’t, but Rede would have his first pair of civvies out of it. There were plenty more jarring things than seeing a vod in a dead man’s clothes, Niner told himself. That’s how things were done in the squads.
Niner took Ennen’s fatigues for himself and left the backup bodysuit on Darman’s bunk. Dar needed a new one, but superstition dictated wearing your first one until it became more of a hazard to wear it than replace it. Dar's blacks were Bry’s old pair.
Niner rubbed his forehead wearily and beckoned Rede out the door. “That’s sorted. Let’s eat.”
The sun was setting behind the spacescrapers, casting a forest of cool shadows over Core Square. It had been a hot day. The ferrocrete blacktop had begun to release its absorbed sunlight, warming their boots as they walked, like shadows themselves in dark imperial armor. The katarn, an effective insulator, kept them cool enough, and their bodysuits did an adequate job of adapting to body temperature. Niner could feel his sweat being wicked away even as his brow furrowed in worry over Darman’s radio silence. He focused on Rede’s profile as they walked. Under his bucket, Niner knew Rede’s face still looked smooth and youthful. His eyes, normally expressive, sat high and deep under his brow bone. No eye bags, no lines yet, no gray hair. Age would come for Rede, too, but Niner had somehow hoped that he would be spared just a few months longer.
The few years between Rede and the older commandos were enough that Niner noticed. Seeing Rede was like seeing himself as he thought he was, and then realizing he was not that younger man anymore. A few years did a lot to a clone – some of it visible, but most of it not.
Lights out had come and gone, and Darman stumbled into the bedroom, a darker shape in a dark room, briefly illuminated by light filtering in from the hallway. He blundered into the bunk he shared with Niner and put one foot on the ladder’s middle rung. Niner, up to his chin in covers, reached out and grabbed his calf. “Hey. Down here. Rede’s up top.”
“Whaa?”
“I offered,” Niner explained in a hoarse whisper.
“‘Course,” Darman agreed, but he groaned, unstuck his foot from the ladder, and crawled heavily onto the narrow mattress next to Niner, still booted and clothed. Niner turned towards the wall, taking up as little space as possible. “Sorry.”
He didn’t mind that Darman had to scoot in close to him, or that he rested his hot forehead between Niner’s shoulder blades, huffing as he settled down. Rede snored above them, a loud rattle that drowned out background sounds of sky traffic and the laundry room down the hall. They could have an entire conversation without him hearing.
“Oh fuu, m’ clothes,'' Dar slurred suddenly, and Niner caught a whiff of beer on his breath. Darman sat up, thunking his head on the bunk above. Rede snored on, undisturbed, and Darman continued thrashing and huffing as he tried to pull his shirt off.
“Help me, vod’ika.”
Niner reached blindly for his brother, bumping into bare skin and grabbing onto what he realized was Darman’s back. He slid his hand up, wiggling his fingers experimentally where the edge of Darman’s shirt cut into skin. It had gotten stuck around his lats. “How did you stuff yourself into this?” He asked helpfully.
Darman sighed. “It fit fine earlier. Just get it off me.”
The CSF Social Club, known for its loaded fries, had obviously bloated him on both sodium and booze.
Niner had to roll over and straddle him from the front, edging his fingers in deeper, before he finally worked Darman’s shirt up and over his head.
“Di’kut,” Niner murmured, pushing him back down onto the bed. He rolled off Darman's lap and settled onto his side again, feeling better about everything with Darman close. He closed his eyes, intent on falling asleep. Dar's chest rose and fell against his back, but he kept moving and twitching, bumping Niner’s legs with his knees.
Niner sighed patiently and focused on the sound of Rede’s snoring. He was interrupted again a moment later by a metallic jingle right behind him. It had to be Darman’s belt buckle. Niner turned, waiting for his eyes to re-adjust to the dark again. He could just make out Darman’s hands fumbling with his belt and then with something else between his legs. “What. What are you doing?”
Dar hissed in frustration, palming himself, yanking on his pants. “Gotta take care of this.”
This turned out to be his half-hard cock, which was nestled in his open fly. Niner watched, frozen, as his hand dipped into his pants and moved up and down a few times. Then Darman stopped, his face turned toward Niner’s in the dark. Niner swallowed. A brother taking care of himself in the same room wasn’t unusual, but Omega Squad had always given their sergeant a respectful amount of distance when it happened.
Darman seemed to have forgotten this unspoken etiquette, or maybe their relationship had evolved enough that he felt it no longer applied. “Could you … could I – I mean –” he stuttered, face tipped toward his dick, which peeked out of his fist.
Niner’s mouth dropped open. He probably misses Etain, and I’m the best he’s got. “I don’t think –”
“Fine. Forget I asked.”
Darman sounded tired now, and resolute, and vulnerable in a way Niner had not heard since before …
“You want … me?” As soon as the words left his lips, Niner’s chest began to pound. He’d never been propositioned before. He couldn’t even say where Darman would fall on a list of possible partners, because he didn’t think he had a list. Everyone he met was more or less the same to him – just people, and they all had a job to do.
“Your hand, maybe?”
This wasn’t part of the job. Or at least it hadn’t been until now.
“I don’t know, Dar,” he said, as gently as he could. “I’m probably not the best person to ask.”
Darman growled, frustrated, and his hand snapped up and down, as if he were trying to yank the stiffness out of his erection. Then he lay down on his side behind Niner, his forehead warm and solid against his back again. Niner sighed. Darman hadn’t pulled his pants back up, which meant the door of opportunity was still open, and all he could think about now was how Dar was lying there behind him with an abandoned boner.
Niner didn’t know what to do. “I’ll sleep on the floor,” he muttered. He grabbed a blanket, rolling onto his elbow to sit up.
“Lay down,” Darman snapped in a loud whisper. “‘M not that drunk anymore. I know what I’m doing.”
Niner wasn’t convinced. It was difficult to tell which Darman he was dealing with. Was this grieving Dar or couldn’t-care-less Dar? But Niner lay down again, for reasons beyond rationality. They breathed quietly for a minute, each with his own thoughts, and then Niner felt Darman shuffle closer and rock into his backside. He was still hard. And his hand pinned Niner’s hip firmly against his own.
“Udesi, vod,” Niner bit out, but a little shiver crawled up his spine. Something was happening. Maybe he’d never had a list before because no one had ever come quite this close. And Darman wasn’t anyone. He wasn’t just one of his brothers anymore – or even just one of his closest brothers. After Shinarcan Bridge something had changed. The playing field had leveled out in a way that made him want to respond to Dar’s insistent advances.
Niner reached back, not knowing exactly what he meant to do, and found Darman’s head. He pulled Dar in close, turning to face him, caught by the need to keep him where he was.
“Let go of me, then,” Darman breathed, fanning Niner’s neck with warm air.
Niner didn’t move.
“You want this, don’t you.”
Niner shuddered, and Darman felt it, because he relaxed, face buried in Niner’s neck. “Please.”
Of all the days, of all the times, Dar.
Darman’s lips on his neck made everything feel fuzzy. He didn't want to let go. So he held on, folding Darman close, breathing deeply against him. Warm little curls of desire unwound as Darman's hips arched into him again, and before he knew it he was letting Darman hump his thigh, and then his open hand; all he had to do was close his fingers.
He had his vod’s cock in his hand on the same day he’d lost another one to his own demons.
All our demons.
Dar’s gentle huffing noises turned tight and desperate as Niner worked him. Then they went ragged and wet with tears as he came, effortlessly, into Niner’s hand.
Rede hadn’t stopped snoring. Vor entye Manda. He’d seen enough for one day.
Darman drifted off to sleep, and Niner didn’t move for the fresher until he was sure he wouldn’t wake.

“Run,” Levi Ackerman x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: There were warrants out for everyone on Captain Levi’s team along with a few others outside and you being you, you almost get caught and Levi saves the day.
I got this idea off a tik tok :/ where you get caught, jump off the building, boom Levi catches you.
Warnings: none! No spoilers, just season 2-3 Levi
.
.
.
You were always pushing Levi’s buttons to no end, you were pretty sure you were the only one on his team to edge him on and purposely piss him off in ways the others thought was a little too scary considering how harsh Levi would punish if needed.
But when it came to you, he had a minor soft spot he would keep buried inside of his heart, making sure he kept it well hidden and made sure to punish you like the rest of the team.
Now since there were warrants out for everyone’s arrest after the kidnapping of Historia and Eren, Levi made sure to try his best to keep everyone in place, in check and safe while they came up with a plan to go rescue Eren.
You, on the other hand, didn’t mind and thought of this as a thrilling experience. On the run, it was like a high you never felt before and you wanted to seek more of it.
“Y/N, are you listening?” You snapped out of your endless thoughts, your eyes meeting Levi’s as you both sat alone in front of the camp fire you had built far in the woods away from the town.
“I am, you were talking about the plan going into town.” You repeated small parts of what he said but the rest was a blank and he sighed, scrunching his eyebrows together.
“You’re a pain in the ass.” He grumbled under his breath, his eyes staring at you as if he was trying to read your mind and figure out what was so important that it made you zone out.
He never got the answer though, he was used to the zoning out and your thoughts taking you elsewhere which also puts you in a lot of trouble and at risk since you don’t pay close attention to the key concepts of the mission at hand but he still watched over you like a hawk and he would admit that you were good at your job.
He never regretted picking you to join his team, you were great under pressure and even though you like to dive towards the danger, you still came out on top and always focused and got the job done. That’s what he liked most about you and the small connection you two shared in private was another reason why he was careful on watching over you.
Levi never intended to like one of his cadets, he never had the intention to feel any sort of connection or real feelings, something that was oddly new for him but also exciting when sharing that connection in private whether it was in his office or alone in a empty room.
Time moved on to where it was the day to go into the town. The mission wasn’t difficult to do and Levi was serious about there not being any fights or action behind this. All you had to do was watch the guards and try to find any sort of clues to where Eren could be.
Levi knew though that you would certainly cause trouble one way or another, it was in your nature to do something you weren’t supposed to and that made him a bit on edge, keeping himself prepared for the possibility.
It didn’t take long, as you stood in your designed area and kept your hood up and your gear hidden underneath the cloak, you leaned against the wall and pretended as if you weren’t doing anything suspicious.
As you heard Eren’s name get brought up, you kept your ears open and suddenly someone had tapped on your shoulder, cursing to yourself for not paying closer attention to your surroundings.
You tried to lift your head up slowly, trying to be careful on showing your full face before seeing the guard tug off your hood in an instant, looking at your face and both of you were stunned staring back at one another.
“and what are you doing here? There’s a warrant out for your arrest you know?” The guard was cocky, you didn’t like that and once he grabbed onto your upper arm, you tugged off the coat and used the gear to shoot up on the roof.
“I knew this was going to happen,” Levi mumbled under his breath as he seen you from afar as he stayed on top of the roof.
He had watched you run with a group of guards close behind you. He rolled his eyes at your need to get into some kind of altercation but he made sure to use his gear to stay close behind but far enough for the guards to not notice his presence.
It had taken almost twenty minutes of running to somehow get trapped on top of a tall building with your gear jamming up. You groaned, looking down at the drop down and how this could definitely kill you if you fell down.
“Nowhere to run now.” The military police men laughed at your state and the adrenaline pumping through your body during this moment was beyond addicting.
You were a huge adrenaline monkey, this is why you joined the scouts instead of the boring MPs as they stood around behind the wall like cowards. You had stared at them for a good while, watching them inch closer but you stood up on the ledge.
“What is she doing?! Her gear is jammed, she could die if she jumps!” Armin panicked as all of them watched you from afar, including Levi as he stayed on standby.
“It’s been fun boys but, I gotta run.” A evil grin came across your lips as you saluted them before leaning back and falling off the tall building.
The wind gushing through you was peaceful and you closed your eyes at the feeling of you falling through the sky until you suddenly felt someone snatch you up and you knew without even opening your eyes who it was. You looked up at him, the smile playing on your lips only grew wider.
“Are you insane?! You could’ve died.” Levi angrily looked at you, holding onto your waist with one hand and swinging along the buildings with the other.
“Hm, maybe a little insane but I knew you would catch me.” You mumbled under your breath, your arms securely wrapping around his neck as a small laugh leaves your mouth.
“Yeah right, you just have a death wish.” He was irritated with you by your careless and selfish actions. If he wasn’t there to catch you, you would be long dead and even thinking about that possibility made Levi angry.
He wouldn’t be able to handle it if he was a second too late and you fell on the hard ground, getting killed instantly. He would definitely blame himself but he would also be very much angry with you and your actions.
“Come on, Captain. No need to be so sour.” You teased, leaning over and pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before he settled on one of the buildings far from everyone else.
“You need to stop being so damn careless.”
He began to soften up from the light peck you gave him but still, in the back of his head he was still pretty angry and he definitely would have to scold you once you two were safe and back at the mini base you made in the woods.
Levi was never the one to overthink things, he was always confident in his plans and his actions along with his cadets actions. He never had any regrets with what he done and wanted to do but the thoughts of you falling down to your death repeated endlessly in his mind over and over again.
His eyes had stared at you and by the look of his face, you knew without him saying a word and that made you start to feel guilty of what you done.
“I’m sorry, Captain. It won’t happen again-“ You began to speak, throwing your arms around him in a tight hug even though he hated hugs.
Levi’s breathing had gone back to normal, trying to get rid of his thoughts and his feelings but they always circled back on you and he couldn’t help that. He was over protective of you, he felt like he needed to and as his feelings for you blossomed within the last months of you being on his team, he just felt like he needed to guard you at all costs.
“Don’t let it happen again, Cadet.”

—shoutout to @avadescent for inspiring me to write offended-attention-deprived levi. because why not right? right.
Levi isn't an unreasonable man.
Rude, sure. Neurotic, well, maybe. He's aware of his flaws, thanks, but as far as he's concerned, unreasonable has never been one of those.
And yet—looking down at the hopeful expression of his subordinate, he feels the irrepressible urge to say something wholly unreasonable. Something like no.
"It'd be a really good opportunity," Petra says, as usual catching on to his thoughts far too quickly for his comfort. "The Military Police has never showed any interest in us before, this could be a real chance to rally some support—"
"Some extra coin, you mean," Levi interjects drily. Far too used to her captain's cynicism, Petra presses on, unperturbed.
"Besides," she adds, "it's just for a week. And the commander—"
"Yeah, yeah, I get it." Levi waves an irritated hand. "The Military Police is in town, they finally manage to get over their massive fucking egos long enough to realise how shit their fatality rates are against actual titans, as opposed to the scum—"
"Captain."
"Criminals," Levi amends, "that they waste their time chasing after, most of the time. And now they want a tour guide to show them around. Fine. But why you?"
Petra levels a glare at him—the only one of his soldiers who'd have the guts to do so—and he feels a stab of grudging respect. "Are you insinuating that I'm not qualified, sir?"
"Just asking why."
"In that case, sir, I'd wager that the commander," she enunciates the world pointedly, "nominated me because I'm nice and friendly and have the second-highest kill count in the Corps. And unfortunately, the soldier with the actual highest kill count has approximately the charm and charisma of a dead slug."
He narrows his eyes at the soldier, who immediately schools her expression back into one of wide-eyed innocence. "You're an insubordinate brat, Ral."
"I'm saving you from having to deal with the MP yourself, sir," Petra says patiently. "You know that if you don't give me permission, Commander Smith is going to go after you next."
They stare at each other for a few seconds, locked in stalemate. Finally, Levi sighs.
"Fine," he mutters. "You can be their tour guide, as long as you keep up with your training in your own time. And, Ral?"
"Sir?"
"For fuck's sake don't be too nice to them."
Petra's answering grin is wry and knowing, even as she lifts her fist to her chest in a flawless salute. "I'll try, sir."
==
The lounge is unnaturally quiet.
Apart from the sound of his pen scratching onto the seemingly endless pages, and the occasional murmured curse from Auruo whenever Gunther takes yet another one of his pawns, there's a strange, heavy silence permeating the ordinarily cheery room.
In his corner, where he's aimlessly folding bits of newspaper into a series of increasingly complicated figures, Eld exhales loudly. "I miss Pet," he declares, morosely tossing a miniature bird into the trash can across the room and missing by a clear metre.
At Levi's glare, he goes to collect it quickly enough.
Auruo snorts in a show of derision. "What for? The peace and quiet's a nice change." He steals a quick, hopeful glance at Levi, who obligingly pretends not to notice.
Privately, Levi agrees with Eld. The squad has been unusually quiet without its sole female member, and he's on more than one occasion during training found himself looking over his shoulder, expecting to see Petra's lithe form at his back, ready to sweep in for an assist.
And. even though he'd sooner stab himself with a blade than admit it, the tea he's been forced to make in her absence—as careful as he's been with his technique—just isn't the same. He takes a sip and wrinkles his nose with annoyance.
"It's only been two days," Gunther says absently, ignoring Auruo's sound of protest as he neatly plucks a knight off the chessboard. "And she seems to be enjoying it."
"Is she?" Levi goes. He flicks off a stray bug with the tip of his pen, and savagely crosses out a misspelling.
"Yeah. An old friend from the Cadet Corps is in the lot that came in with the MP, she mentioned she'd been catching up with him."
"An old boyfriend, more like." Auruo hisses in exasperation when Gunther swipes yet another piece. "Michael, right? I remember him. Smug little slimeball, he was."
Levi stiffens. "She didn't mention that," he says, as casually as he can. Gunther shoots him a curious glance, which he ignores.
"Yeah, well, why would she?" Eld yawns and gets to his feet, stretching. "This blows. I'm gonna get some sleep. Later."
Levi sips at his tea, feeling violently and inexplicably irritated despite the would-be comfort of the familiar brew. The feeling doesn't fade, not even when the chess game ends with Gunther's resounding victory and both men traipse out of the room, leaving him alone in the quiet.
He dots an i with more severity than strictly necessary and decides to call it a night, too.
==
Petra continues to spend the better part of the next week flitting off to attend to their unwanted guests. With every activity that she doesn't turn up at, Levi finds his mood turning a shade fouler. Training isn't as productive. The whole squad is off their game.
Also, he misses her.
That evening, the lounge is empty. The rest of the squad has gone off to town for a much-needed drink, leaving Levi alone behind to tackle yet another stack of paperwork.
He's worked himself into a monotonous rhythm when the door swings open and Petra steps in, looking exhausted but content. Against his will, Levi feels his mood lift a fraction, although he keeps his scowl firmly in place.
"Captain," Petra greets with her usual smile, flopping down on her favourite spot at the sofa, "where's everyone?"
"Town," Levi replies shortly.
"Oh?" Her smile turns into a yawn, and he notes with an odd feeling the shadows under her eyes. "I need a drink, too. The MP visitors have been a handful. Did you know that most of them have barely touched their 3DMG after graduating? They're so rusty, they make Hanji's gear look positively shiny."
Levi has to stop himself from snickering; the squad leader is notorious for failing to maintain her gear, much to her second-in-command's constant despair. He has to force his expression to remain icy. Petra looks at him curiously.
"Anything the matter, captain?" she goes. He shrugs.
"Not really."
"That's not the same as no," Petra observes. Levi casts her a dark glare.
"Insubordinate," he mutters. "Just...hasn't been the best week."
"Because of me?"
Levi stares down at his paperwork.
"Maybe," he finally replies. Still refusing to meet her gaze, he asks, casually, "So, did anything exciting happen?"
He's still not looking at her, but he can hear the frown in her voice as she shakes her head. "Not really."
"That's not the same as no," Levi echoes. His subordinate rolls her eyes good-naturedly.
"One of my old squadmates, back in the cadet corps, was being annoying throughout," she admits. Levi tries to keep his expression composed, even as something in his chest seems to lift, for whatever reason.
She clears her throat, seemingly eager to move on to the next topic. "Apart from that, the most exciting thing was probably seeing the captain of the MP almost lose his lunch after we showed him Hanji's lab."
Levi finally allows himself to snort. "Shitheads."
"Shitheads," Petra agrees. Her lips quirk into a tentative smile. "I missed the squad, though."
It's phrased like a sentence but sounds more like a question.
He makes the mistake of looking at her. Her cheeks are red, and there's a light in her eyes that seems nervous, almost shy. Yet she meets his gaze with a kind of determination. Questioning. Hopeful.
It's an unusual look for the girl who cuts down titans without batting an eyelid. Something in the back of mind tells him that her words are layered, but he forces himself to focus on the outside.
"The squad wasn't the same without you," Levi finally replies. It's not nearly enough, even he knows that.
Still, it's sufficient to make her whole countenance brighten and her smile shift into something different, whole. He realises belatedly that the dark, irritated cloud that has persisted in the back of his mind for the past week has dissipated almost entirely.
He shoves away the realisation quickly. Petra just smiles at him, seeming to know his thoughts before he can even begin to wonder at them. As usual.
"It's good to be back, captain," she says softly.
"Good to have you back, Ral."
