Vegan Orange & Walnut Mixed Salad

Ingredients: - 100g mixed salad leaves - 2 large oranges, peeled and segments - 2 medium tomatoes, sliced - 1 cucumber, sliced - 1 small red onion, thinly sliced - 50g walnuts, toasted - A handful of black olives - 2 tbsp olive oil - 1 tsp Maple syrup - 1 tsp Dijon mustard - 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar - Salt and pepper, to taste - Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Method: 1. Arrange the mixed salad leaves in a large serving bowl or platter as the base. 2. Evenly distribute the orange segments, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and red onion over the greens. 3. Scatter the toasted walnuts and black olives across the salad. 4. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, Maple syrup, Apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 5. Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving to ensure the greens stay crisp. 6. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley to add a touch of color and freshness.

Cleaning with Intention

As a part of my major pre-Spring Equinox cleansing ritual I decided to make some cleansers with intention.

First up is this rose water scrub that I’m going to use to clean up the surface of the bigger of the two altars, which accumulated some wax spots over the Koleda/Christmas holiday. Rose water is used to promote feelings of love and harmony, feelings which I want to send to the deities and ancestral spirits I work with.

It also has salt which is good for removing unwanted spiritual energies.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup baking soda

2 TB water

1 TB coarse sea salt

2 tsp rose water

Directions:

Just stir the ingredients together.

I also made up an all purpose lemon cleaner which I’ll use on the floors and any other surfaces I feel could use a good scrub.
